Cam’ron Defends Disastrous CNN Interview—Promptly Gets Dragged

Cam’ron sat down with CNN correspondent Abby Phillip on Monday (May 20) and proceeded to talk about “getting some cheeks” and awkwardly question the integrity of Phillip’s questions. The clip went viral and now, Cam’ron is attempting to do some damage control—with very little success.

Taking to his podcast, It Is What It Is featuring Ma$3, the Dipset rapper appeared to dig a deeper hole with his explanation. He argued he felt blindsided by the questions about Diddy and disappointed Phillip didn’t inquire more about his podcast and other “positive” things he was doing.

“They didn’t invite me on to say about how successful our show is, or the positive stuff we do in our community or how every day, five days a week, Ma$e talks to kids on a Zoom call,” he said. “[…] He stops what he’s doing to talk to kids around the world […] We do all these positive things and you call me on CNN for some b#######. I’m gonna give you the b#######. That’s just what’s going to happen. They gave me some free promo.”

He continued, “I just felt like you tried to use me … I don’t believe in domestic violence. I seen the video as egregious. They’re really f##### up. I said what I said. That’s how that went.”

People weren’t buying it though and started bashing Cam immediately with comments like, “He’s 48. That s### was embarrassing” and “Nothin’ about what he did was funny. Nobody wanted to talk about you or what you’re doin’ sir.”

Other comments included, “He made it hard for other black podcasters to get main stream interviews. CNN are in board meetings rt now discussing why they not gone invite us no more and Abby can’t defend us” and “He and Mase talk about Diddy. But god forbid CNN ask him to come on their platform to talk about the same thing he talks about on his. Abby is one of the few black women with an International show and he had to act an ass on her show.”

The interview with Cam’ron went off the rails rather quickly, with him questioning why he was booked in the first place. It began with Phillip asking his thoughts on the video of Diddy assaulting ex Cassie Ventura. Cam’ron replied he doesn’t consider Diddy a friend or condone the mogul’s actions in the video or any of the other allegations against him.

“Everything in the video is egregious, I’m against,” he said. “So when I saw the video I was kinda upset being that I know him.”

Cam’ron became more frustrated when asked if he “recognizes that kind of anger” based on his personal experience of Diddy.  He added, “I don’t know him like that. What do you mean did I recognize him? I seen him. What do you mean my experiences? I seen him and I thought it was disgusting.”

Philip then asked him about Diddy’s apology video to which he said, “The apology ain’t for me, it’s for Cassie,’ he fired back. He ain’t do nothing for me. What I think about it don’t matter. You need to ask Cassie if she accepts the apology. I said what I said.”

Finally, when Phillip asked Cam’ron about Diddy’s alleged mistreatment of his artists. Cam’ron took a shot of his Pink Horse Power sex supplement and said, “Sorry, I’m gonna’ go get some cheeks after this horse power drink”—then plugged his podcast and questioned why he was there.

“Who’s the talent agent for this joint?” he concluded. You think I be sitting around watching what Diddy do? I didn’t know this was a Diddy joint that y’all invited me to. Who booked me for this joint?”

Phillip calmly thanked Cam’ron for his time before essentially kicking him off air. He addressed the incident on Instagram with a post that read, “F### They Invite Me On CNN For?” and “Oh they ain’t know?? Now they do.”

GloRilla dropped her Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape in April 2024. The project became her second Top 20 entry on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to spending six weeks on the Billboard 200, GloRilla insists her latest body of work can enhance body parts. The Collective Music Group recording artist joked about Ehhthang Ehhthang on X.

“Hold [the f###] up. I see why @GloTheofficial ass fat. Her album got me doing extra reps in the gym,” a fan tweeted on Monday (May 20). Big Glo responded, “My mixtape literally will make yo ass grow. I seen it with my own two eyes.”

GloRilla’s Ehhthang Ehhthang hosts the “Yeah Glo!” single. That track peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Top 20 hit “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion also lives on Ehhthang Ehhthang.

Megan teamed up with Glo for “Wanna Be” before recruiting the Memphis-bred rapper as an opener for the Hot Girl Summer Tour. The trek hits New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (May 21).

After breaking onto the national scene with 2022’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd, GloRilla dropped additional songs such as “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B and “On Wat U On” with Moneybagg Yo.

“Carlton” Actor Alfonso Ribeiro Claims “Fresh Prince” Role Forced Him To Sacrifice Career

Alfonso Ribeiro got national television exposure for his stint on the 1980 sitcom Silver Spoons. However, his portrayal of Carlton Banks in the classic Will Smith-led The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air made him a household name.

During an interview with Closer Weekly, Ribeiro reflected on his time on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The 52-year-old actor explained how Carlton Banks became a gift and curse for him.

“Playing Carlton on Fresh Prince became a sacrifice,” he said. “I used to always say doing Carlton was the greatest and worst thing that ever happened to me. It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play.” 

He continued, “But it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else. The sacrifice was not having an acting career anymore.”

After The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ended in 1996, Ribeiro starred on In the House for three seasons. He also won season 19 of Dancing with the Stars before taking on the hosting gig for the competition series.

“My happiest moments, career-wise, are winning Dancing with the Stars and now becoming host of Dancing with the Stars,” Ribeiro concluded.

Sexyy Red went viral in March for a video of herself vibing to WWE legend Shawn Michaels’ iconic theme song. Will the “Get It Sexyy” rapper officially link up with the Heartbreak Kid? 

Shawn Michaels oversees WWE’s NXT brand which airs a weekly show on Tuesday nights. Sexyy Red teased stopping by the television program soon. 

“I can’t wait to go to NXT next week y’all, I might RKO somebody [loudly crying face emojis] @WWE #nxt,” Red tweeted on Monday (May 20). RKO is the name of the wrestling move made famous by WWE superstar Randy Orton.

Sexyy Red previously expressed interest in showing up in WWE. In October 2023, the St. Louis native reacted to a video of an edited mashup of former WWE tag team champion Jey Uso’s entrance and her “SkeeYee” single.

“I wanna see this happen [for real] [loudly crying face emojis]. @WWE when [y’all] gonna invite me?” Sexyy Red posted in response to the Jey Uso clip.

Several Hip-Hop stars took part in the WWE’s WrestleMania XL event in April. Meek Mill narrated the show’s cold open and Snoop Dogg provided commentary. In addition, Lil Wayne performed Jey Uso to the ring for his match against his twin brother, Jimmy Uso.

“My Type” hitmaker Saweetie apparently struggled financially before reaching stardom. The Sacramento-raised entertainer recently spoke about her pre-fame life when she did not have her own home.

“I remember I was too proud to tell my friends and my family that I had nowhere to stay and I was literally couch surfing,” Saweetie recalled on Power 106’s Brown Bag Mornings show while holding back tears.

She continued, “But it was cool because people always wanted me around. So I didn’t have to worry about having a place to stay. My homegirls knew what was going on. But I never wanted to take up space in someone’s house, so I would just keep my closet in my car.”

Saweetie went on to drop her High Maintenance EP in March 2018 via Warner Records. That project hosted the Californinan’s breakout single “Icy Grl” which eventually earned 2x-platinum certification.

A new track titled “NANi” hit DSPs on May 17, 2024. The official music video for Saweetie’s latest track has crossed the one million-view mark on YouTube since its premiere. 

The 30-year-old rapper recently blamed Warner Records for “NANi” not coming out earlier. She also claimed the label blocked the release of her “Icy Girl, Icy World” song.

Diddy Reportedly Legally Barred From Mentioning Cassie’s Name In Public

Sean “Diddy” Combs continues to deal with the fallout from the leaked 2016 footage of him assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel. The embattled recording artist/businessman also faced widespread criticism for his public apology about the matter.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” Diddy stated in an Instagram post.

The Bad Boy Entertainment founder also said, “I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Many critics took issue with Diddy not directly apologizing to Cassie. TMZ published a report that explains why the R&B singer’s name did not come up in the Grammy Award winner’s post.

According to the outlet, Combs and Ventura signed non-disclosure agreements as part of their 2023 legal deal. The NDAs supposedly bar both parties from publicly speaking about the other. 

In November 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend under New York state’s Adult Survivors Act. Diddy agreed to an undisclosed out-of-court settlement one day after the filing.

Teen Rapper Tragically Dies In Accidental Shooting While Filming Social Media Video

A young rapper tragically lost his life after accidentally shooting himself while filming a music video on social media over the weekend.  

According to The New York Post, cops believe the 17-year-old aspiring rapper died from an “accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound” to the head. The teen was found dead in Suffolk, Virginia, on Sunday (May 15.) 

Authorities have not released the victim’s name, but social media posts seemingly identified him as Virginia rapper Rylo Huncho.  His recent Instagram posts are littered with tributes from his shocked followers.

Footage circulated online of Huncho singing into the camera while pointing a gun with a green laser sight at his head. At one point, he appears to disable the firearm’s safety before a gunshot is heard. The boy is then thrown out of the frame before the camera falls. It is unclear how the video was posted online. 

An educator at Rylo Huncho’s school shared a GoFundMe page set up for his family.  

“Unfortunately, I am all too familiar with tragedy,” Kara Dorsey wrote on Facebook. “Over the past 14 years I’ve experienced the loss of numerous students and former students, and that never gets easy.” 

Dorsey urged students to “honor the legacy of their friend,” and “push through to graduation day and continue fulfilling their goals.”  

She added, “While this won’t ease their pain or bring him back, it will honor him and bring joy to their grieving family during this time.”

Lil Wayne’s son is following in his father’s footsteps as an aspiring rapper but believes another rapper has already assumed the role of the younger generation’s version of his father.  

Like many of his dad’s fans, Lil Novi considers his father the greatest rapper of all time. However, according to the 14-year-old, Playboi Carti is up there with Lil Wayne and has reached G.O.A.T. level.  

He addressed the topic during an interview with Flophouse Atlanta. “Obviously, my dad,” Lil Novi began. “But for me, I’d say like because Carti is like the Wayne now so yeah, Carti.”   

Novi justified his response after getting some pushback from the host. “If you really like think, he’s there,” he added. “He’s reached that level. He’s done crazy numbers.” 

Clips of the interview surfaced online, with many on social media disagreeing with Lil Novi’s take while others reacted to how much the teen looks and sounds like his famous father.  

“How does a 12 year old have vocal fry?” one person joked on X (Twitter), while another added, “Bro got his dads voice that’s hilarious.” 

Others questioned if Lil Novi was aware of his father’s status in rap. “I don’t think he knows how God tier of a rapper his dad is,” one user wrote.  

However, while some failed to understand the Playboi Carti “hype,” some disagreed. “Carti surpassed wayne already,” one user added. “Carti is the goat and theres no more debating it,” someone else stated.

Amber Rose Dragged Online For “Transphobic” Defense Of Donald Trump Endorsement

Amber Rose refuses to walk back her support for Donald Trump despite being dragged online after endorsing the former president for the upcoming elections.  

Social media users criticized Rose after she posed for a photo with Donald and Melania Trump, branding her a hypocrite. Many pointed to her work as an advocate for women’s rights, including her annual SlutWalk event, and past negative comments about Trump.

Amber Rose addressed the backlash on Instagram, claiming that people “of color” are brainwashed when it comes to Trump before making some questionable claims.  

“Yall think Biden cares about black ppl???” she asked before calling her detractors “sad” and urging them to research the candidates as she did. 

“I’ll ALWAYS put women first,” Rose added. “Y’all want biological men in women’s sports [eye roll emoji]. Trump supports the most reasonable compromise on abortion. Stop being brainwashed cuz WE’RE ppl of color. Make your own decisions.” 

However, her response to the criticism only intensified the backlash, with many online branding her transphobic. 

“you cannot be a feminist or pro-women’s rights if you’re transphobic. You’re a fraud,” one person wrote. 

“So now Amber Rose doesn’t like trans women and refers to them as ‘biological men’ when she used them and pandered to that community for YEARS,” another user remarked. “Literally was in ballroom spaces, hugged up on them too. She’s very weird lol.” 

Others pointed to Trump’s proud role in the reversal of Roe v. Wade and the ensuing abortion bans.

50 Cent believes Diddy’s woes just increased after former bodyguard Roger Bonds opened up about his time with the mogul and his alleged abuse of his late partner, Kim Porter. 

On Monday (May 20), Bonds appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored in the wake of Diddy’s apology following the disturbing footage of his violent assault on his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.  

Bonds explained that the level of violence in the video was not shocking to him “because I’ve seen things of this nature before.” 

He went on to say he saw Diddy physically abuse both Cassie Ventura and Kim Porter “around four or five times.” He added, “I’ve seen him get really physical, grab them up,” before questioning Diddy’s state of mind.  

“I seen him get into to wrestling and punching matches,” Bonds stated. “It’s a deeper anger when you hitting and punching a woman in that type of manner.”   

However, Bonds who recently said he intervened during the alleged abuse, claimed that Kim Porter began resisting Diddy’s attacks. “I seen him inside the car grab her up, I seen him smack her. One thing about Kim is, Kim got to the point where she fought back because she realized how powerful she was,” he continued.  

Bonds then recalled an alleged incident outside the Beverley Hills hotel “where I just seen the car rocking back and forth.”   

Longtime Diddy nemesis 50 Cent shared his reaction to the interview on Instagram.

Kid Rock has once again stirred up controversy due to his alleged bad behavior.

On Sunday (May 19), Rolling Stone published a story in which journalist David Peisner accused Rock of brandishing a firearm and using racial slurs during their interview. The article details the chaotic encounter between the musician and Peisner, the increasingly erratic behavior of Rock, who was reportedly belligerent during the incident.

When asked about immigrants, Rock reportedly agreed to them being described as “not humans” and further disparaged emigrating migrants as perpetrators of violent crimes.

“They’re murderers!,” Rock allegedly said. “They’re rapists! They are! MS-13! They just did the girl over here! They just did the girl in Nashville.”

Rock also appeared to reference his involvement in Bud Light’s 2023 controversy following a campaign with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney. In his retort, he seemingly suggested that his legacy might include shooting up Bud Light cans. Despite previously boycotting Bud Light, he hinted at targeting other companies in the future.

“I don’t want to hurt people’s jobs and stuff like that when they don’t have any dog in the fight, but there’s a whole lot of other companies we should be going after,” he said.

The interview also touched on Kid Rock’s support for Donald Trump, who he attempted to call during the conversation, describing Trump as his “bestie” even as the former president sent him to voicemail.

The interview reportedly grew tense when Rock insisted Peisner stay the night, despite earlier derogatory remarks about the journalist’s college background and sexuality. Peisner siad Rock called him a “college snowflake” and dared him to “write the most horrific article” in hopes it could breathe new life into his career. As of now, Kid Rock has not responded to requests for comment on the Rolling Stone article.

Rolling Stone’s account is the latest in a series of incidents showcasing Rock’s controversial behavior. In 2019, he was widely criticized for a drunken, racist rant against Oprah Winfrey and Joy Behar during a performance at his Nashville bar. On Saturday (May 19), Q hopped on Twitter (X) to share a message with all 2.5 million of his followers in support of Staples’ latest announcement regarding new music. In the brief message he shared in the tweet, Q appeared to foreshadow what’s to come from the new project.

The post is a quoted reply of a tweet Staples shared outlining the tracklist for the album Dark Times.

“THis album is crazy [Open hands emoji] like crazy crazy,” Q wrote in the tweet.

In the same thread, a Twitter (X) user reposted a tweet from 2017 that Staples shared in which he described the TDE rapper’s reaction to his fan-acclaimed album Big Fish Theory.

“SCHOOLBOY Q SAID THIS IS MY NEST MUSIC YET AND YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO A PERSON THATS UGLY LIKE THAT CAUSE HE DONT GOT NOTING TO LOSE SO WHY LIE!!” Staples wrote in the tweet.

Coincidentally, in the days before Staples tweeted, “ALBUM THIS FRIDAY . The model and activist posted a photo with Donald Trump and Melania Trump at an undisclosed black-tie event, captioning it with “Trump 2024.”

Amber Rose, who has spoken about the similarities between Trump and her ex-boyfriend Kanye West, once remarked, “When I first seen Trump on the podium, I was like, ‘Oh my God, that is Kanye in a white man’s body.’ I really felt like they have the same personality, like completely the same personality.”

Rose has previously voiced her apprehensions about allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump.

Israel’s Prime Minister Condemns Bid To Arrest Him For War Crimes

Benjamin Netanyahu rebuked the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor Karim Khan for seeking the Israeli prime minister’s arrest. Khan accused Netanyahu, Israel’s defense minister and three Hamas leaders of war crimes on Monday (May 20).

Netanyahu defended Israel’s devastating attacks on Gaza. More than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed, eliciting outrage and demonstrations (including Macklemore’s protest song “Hind’s Hall”). Netanyahu attempted to spin the violence and chastised Khan.

“In the face of these horrors, Mr. Khan creates a twisted and false moral equivalence between the leaders of Israel and the henchmen of Hamas,” Netanyahu said. “This is like creating a moral equivalence after September 11th between President Bush and Osama Bin Laden, or during World War II between FDR and Hitler. What a travesty of justice. What a disgrace.”

ICC judges will decide whether or not to authorize arrest warrants for Netanyahu and others for war crimes. Israel does not recognize the ICC’s jurisdiction, raising questions about its ability to truly prosecute Netanyahu.

“The ICC has no jurisdiction over Israel and Mr. Khan’s actions will not stop us from waging our just war against Hamas,” Netanyahu said. “But Mr. Khan’s abuse of this authority will turn the ICC into nothing more than a farce. He’s doing something else. He is callously pouring gasoline on the fires of antisemitism that are raging across the world. Through this incendiary decision, Mr. Khan takes his place among the great antisemites in modern times. He now stands alongside those infamous German judges who donned their robes and upheld laws that denied the Jewish people their most basic rights and enabled the Nazis to perpetrate the worst crime in history.”

Israel’s conflict with Hamas began in October 2023. The war created a humanitarian crisis in Gaza as countless Palestinians continue to suffer.

The Houston Hottie will perform around the country through June 22 before taking a brief break and heading overseas for several European shows in July. A cameraman sued Megan weeks before the start of her tour. Emilio Garcia accused her of forcing him to watch her have sex with a woman on a 2022 trip to Ibiza.

Garcia said he became Megan’s personal cameraman in 2018. He continued to work for her until June 2023. Roc Nation allegedly told Garcia “his services would no longer be required.”

Megan’s ex-cameraman claimed she created a “hostile, abusive work environment.” Her attorney Alex Spiro downplayed the lawsuit.

“This is an employment claim for money — with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her,” her lawyer said. “We will deal with this in court.”

Garcia sought more than six figures in damages. He wanted unpaid wages and other employee benefits.

Movie star Tom Hanks asked his son Chet Hanks to explain Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef. The younger Hanks answered his dad by texting an amusing yet surprisingly accurate summary of the battle on Monday (May 20).

“Yeah, so Drake and this other dude J Cole been saying they along with Kendrick are the ‘Big 3’ in Rap,” Chet Hanks wrote to his father. “Then Kendrick put out a song saying, ‘F### the Big 3, it’s just big ME’ initiating the beef. Then Drake was like, ‘you got small feet cuz you’re like 5 foot 5 or whatever.’ And then Kendrick was like, you’re a dead beat dad and made fun of his Canadian accent.”

He continued, “So Drake came back and was like, ‘oh yeah? Well I heard you beat your wife’ but literally like 30 seconds later Kendrick put out a diss overshadowing Drake’s diss where he pretty much methodically dismantled Drake’s entire psyche and called him a pedophile for flirting with young girls and revealing Drake had another kid that he was hiding from the world, which turned out to be false, and Drake came back and was like, ‘hahahha I gotcho ass I had people give you false info to make you look stupid’ but it didn’t even matter cuz then Kendrick just dropped another West Coast banger where he really went in labeling Drake a pedophile.”

Chet Hanks equated Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” to Tom Hanks visiting the beloved actor’s high school alma mater in Oakland.

“That was pretty much the sonic equivalent of when you took me to your high school in Oakland and we walked in on the basketball game and everybody started going nuts,” Chet Hanks wrote. “Like if you heard it you would just automatically know how to Crip walk with a stank face while clutching an Oscar in each hand with Marshawn Lynch, then dap him up and tell him ‘Town Bidness’ which solidified the win not only for Kendrick but the entire West Coast.”

Social media users teased Future by comparing him to Russell Wilson, the stepfather of the rapper’s son Future Zahir Wilburn. Fans joked about the hitmaker writing a relatively simple message for his son’s 10th birthday since Wilson penned a more elaborate post on Sunday (May 19).
