Shyne Insists He Was Diddy’s “Fall Guy” In 1999 Shooting As Pressure On Mogul Increases

Former rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow is co-signing new statements supporting his claim that he was the alleged scapegoat in the 1999 Club New York shooting involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez. 

“I’ve been saying this all along,” Shyne told Channel 5 Belize. “Everyone knew all along that I was the fall guy…I maintained my innocence all this time. I said I was defending myself. I didn’t get into who did what.”

Diddy, Lopez and their bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones, were with Shyne when an argument escalated, resulting in three people getting injured. One of the victims, Natania Reuben, was shot in the face. 

While Diddy and Jones were acquitted, Shyne was convicted of assault and gun possession in 2001. He served almost nine years in prison and was released in October 2009.

Diddy was acquitted of all charges, but allegations surrounding bribes and witness tampering loomed over the mogul’s head during his trial. 

More than two decades later, Shyne stated that he continues to deal with the repercussions of that night, notwithstanding his transition from music to politics as a current member of the Belize House of Representatives.

“I’ve done my best to put it behind me and to move forward, but it certainly reopens the wounds,” he said. “I maintain that I never [shot] nobody. There were other guns there. I always said that that has not changed.”

Shyne’s declaration comes on the heels of victim Natania Reid’s recent vow to hold Diddy accountable for the shooting. Reid, who sued Diddy and received a nearly $2 million settlement, claims Diddy has harassed her since the incident.

Reid came forward as multiple victims accused Diddy of rape, sexual assault and other heinous crimes shortly before the Bad Boy mogul’s Los Angeles, Miami and New York homes were raided by Homeland Security.

Reid recounted the incident, claiming, “I watched him [Diddy] fire the gun. I’ve said it all this time. Everybody knew he did it. Not only did he [shoot] me in the face, he also set off a course of harassment against me for the past 24 years.”

Shyne, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives and the Leader of the Belize United Democratic Party, reflected on his past with disdain and mindfulness, striving to focus on his political career and contributions rather than dwell on past grievances. 

“The victims are vindicating me,” Shyne said. “Witnesses are vindicating me. But I have moved on. I’m not trying to relive that.”

Ray J Claims Artists Can’t Get Record Deals Without Being On Reality TV

Ray J turned from a singer/actor to a reality television personality. His time on shows such as For the Love of Ray J, Love & Hip-Hop and College Hill: Celebrity Edition extended his entertainment career.

According to Ray J, the current music industry leans heavily on finding potential stars from unscripted television programming. The 43-year-old entrepreneur addressed the topic in a video posted to social media.

“I love shooting ratchet TV. This ratchet s###, they kept sleeping on us. They kept sleeping on this rachet s###,” Ray J stated. “And now what’s crazy is that you can’t even get a f###### record deal nowadays without being on a reality show. That’s how they’re picking and choosing.”

Ray J expressed interest in working with former Blue Girls Club cast member Chrisean Rock. In addition, the Tronix Network founder teased an upcoming television project featuring “Hood Rats” rapper Sukihana.

“We want a Chrisean show… She gotta hit us up. I’ve been hitting her, no response. I don’t know when it was, but whenever she’s ready, the bag is here,” Ray J announced. He also said, “Suki bout to start her network in three months.”

Reality television has introduced acts like Cardi B, Latto, and Baby Tate to a larger audience. Plus, the Love & Hip-Hop franchise helped established artists such as Joe Budden, Remy Ma and K. Michelle build supporters for other non-TV endeavors.

Polo G Says Drugs & Liquor Help Him Cope With Pain

Polo G uses his album titles, such as The Goat and Hall of Fame, to express his confidence as a recording artist. However, the Chicago native revealed he uses narcotics to shield his distress.

Many of Polo G’s supporters had concerned reactions to a recent tweet by the Columbia recording artist. The “Rapstar” hitmaker shared his current state of mind on the X platform. 

“Drugs and liquor help me cope [with] pain but I need better vices,” Polo tweeted. When a fan asked him about supposedly quitting drugs, the rapper replied, “[M###########] I stopped and started again.”

Another X user posted the lyrics to Polo G’s “21” song which included the 25-year-old rhymer saying he would stop doing Percocets after the death of Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins.

“Still to this day I haven’t popped a perc for respect [for] my brotha but it’s a lot of other drugs out [here] gang,” Polo responded. Fellow Chicago-bred performer Juice WRLD passed away in 2019 from oxycodone and codeine intoxication.

Polo G has dealt with his brother facing murder charges, a pending lawsuit, and his own arrest in recent months. Last August, he teased retiring from making music after releasing his forthcoming Hood Poet album.

Kid Cudi (born Scott Mescudi) is set to officially tie the knot. The rapper/actor announced his engagement with a post on Instagram.

“My [fiancée] Lola and me at the Knuckles premiere. This amazing woman makes me so happy, she is everything to me, and I’m so excited to share this news [with you all],” Kid Cudi wrote.

The Man on the Moon: The End of Day album creator also added, “Life is wild, and right when I felt my future was uncertain, it became crystal clear with Lola. Happy Cud in full effect.”

Kid Cudi plans to marry menswear fashion designer Lola Abecassis Sartore. According to her LinkedIn page, Sartore worked for Louis Vuitton until January 2024.

“I never thought I could love someone this much! So proud to call you my fiancé Scott,” Lola Abecassis Sartore posted on Instagram. “I can’t wait for you all to see this amazing man in the new Knuckles show!”

The Grammy Award-winning Kid Cudi has released ten studio LPs. Insano arrived on January 12, followed by Insano (Nitro Mega) on February 23. Cudi also acted in films like Entourage and Don’t Look Up as well as television series like the upcoming Knuckles.

Damian Lillard’s Estranged Wife Trolls GloRilla For Getting Arrested

Gloria “GloRilla” Woods has legal troubles after Gwinnett County, Georgia officials arrested the Memphis-raised rapper for driving under the influence.

Law enforcement allegedly smelled marijuana and alcohol in GloRilla’s vehicle after stopping the “Yeah Glo!” rapper for a traffic violation. The authorities took Woods into custody and later released her on a $1,956 bond.

Kay’La Lillard, the estranged wife of NBA player Damian Lillard, decided to take a jab at GloRilla for her DUI situation. In February, Glo publicly expressed her interest in the Milwaukee Bucks point guard.

On Wednesday (April 17), Kay’La Lillard posted a headline about GloRilla getting arrested to her Instagram Story. Damian Lillard’s former college sweetheart captioned her post, “Free GloLillard [rolling on the floor laughing emoji] #sisterwife. [person shrugging emoji].”

Damian Lillard filed for divorce from Kay’La Lillard in October 2023 after two years of marriage. The eight-time NBA All-Star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split.

GloRilla met Damian Lillard during the 2024 NBA All-Star Game Weekend. She later made a move on the ex-Portland Trail Blazer by uploading a photo with Dame to social media.

Rihanna says she and A$AP Rocky are working on her new album, and they’ve got some hits coming! 

Rihanna fans have long awaited the follow-up to her 2016 album Anti, and while Rihanna has been working on the project for several years, it’s unknown when the project will arrive. 

Fans have branded the fabled offering “R9,” as it will be Rihanna’s ninth studio album. The superstar singer and business mogul has shared few details about the project save for teasing an experimental new sound.  

However, in a recent red carpet interview, Rihanna revealed she’s working on the project with her partner A$AP Rocky and they’re cooking up something “good”. However, it’s not all smooth sailing as the super couple is struggling to divide the hits between them.  

“I already got stuff that I feel like I could make hits out of,” RiRi revealed during an ET interview. “Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what,” she added. “Because it’s so good.” 

While Rihanna was happy to share that album tidbit, she remained tight-lipped over a release date. “I wanna know, too,” Rihanna teased when asked when the album would arrive. 

Elsewhere during her appearance at the launch of her FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone shoe in London, Rihanna caught up with Nigerian singer and songwriter Arya Starr. The “Rush” hitmaker could barely contain her excitement when Rihanna asked for a feature.

Ashanti Confirms She’s Engaged To Nelly & Shows Off Baby Bump For First Time

Nelly and Ashanti are engaged to be married and having a baby! 

Fans have suspected that the longtime sweethearts are having a child together for some time. Ashanti has donned a succession of oversized jerseys to mask her growing baby bum leading to the rumors.

On Wednesday (April 17), after confirming her pregnancy in a cute video teaser, the mom-to-be shared even more good news. Ashanti revealed the happy couple are set to walk down the aisle as she and Nelly are engaged to be married.  

In a statement to ESSENCE, Ashanti confirmed the engagement and expressed her joy over expressing her first child.  

“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation,” she exclaimed. “Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.” 

The outlet also revealed Nelly and Ashanti are going into business together. The couple are co-owners of Proov, a company offering affordable at-home fertility tests.  

Meanwhile, Ashanti proudly displayed her blossoming baby bump for the audience at a Miami Beach marketing event following her pregnancy announcement.  

The crowd applauded as she laughed and rubbed her stomach before standing up and giving onlookers a look at her pregnant form.  

Nelly also shared the pregnancy trailer, borrowing lyrics from Ashanti’s 2002 hit “Baby.”

Kanye West Rep Claims Bianca Censori Was Sexually Assaulted Before Alleged Battery

Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, was reportedly “battered and sexually assaulted” before Kanye West allegedly retaliated, punching the man in the face, prompting the LAPD to investigate. 

As reported by AllHipHop earlier on Thursday (April 17), the LAPD reportedly named Kanye West as a suspect in an alleged battery. He stands accused of punching a man earlier this week (April 16), per TMZ.  

Initial reports suggested the man pushed or grabbed Censori, leading to the alleged altercation and an LAPD battery investigation. However, West’s rep has spoken out to clarify West’s side of the story.  

According to Yeezy Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulos, the man did much more than “grab” Censori. He called out the initial reports in a statement before shedding light on the alleged incident.  

“‘A stranger grabbed Bianca’ is grossly inadequate as a description of what happened. Bianca was physically assaulted last night,” Yiannopoulos stated, per multiple reports.  

“The assailant didn’t merely collide into her,” he added. “He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.” 

As source claimed West punched the man in the face, although the man wasn’t severely injured and didn’t require treatment. 

LAPD intends to speak to West and any potential witnesses as part of their investigation. Kanye West and Bianca Censori left the scene after the alleged altercation. A day after the alleged incident, the couple was seen enjoying themselves at Disneyland. 

Nicki Minaj Accuses Unnamed Enemy of “Sabotage” After Narrowly Missing Tour Stop

Nicki Minaj believes she’s been targeted by somebody intent on sabotaging her Pink Friday 2 tour. 

On Wednesday evening (April 17), moments before she was due to hit the stage, Minaj took to social media to complain about an alleged conspiracy to prevent her from performing in Montreal.  

“Yesterday my flight scheduled for midnight shut their plane down @ 12:58pm,” she began a lengthy post. “Never in 15 years have I heard of anything like that. A 70K G4 and thought we were going to PAY THEM for that flight as well as whatever flight I’d have to get on next. They thought wrong.” 

Minaj explained that her team asked if they could depart at 1: P.M. but was told 3 P.M., which was then further delayed to 5 P.M.  

“For a 930pm show in Canada. When we got to the plane, they then said they were “STILL FUELING”. At 630pm, they said they were “still fueling” (for an hour & a half flight),” she added.    

According to Nicki Minaj, she was given a more intensive search than usual upon arrival in Canada despite time running out ahead of her tour stop. However, ultimately, Minaj made it to her concert in the nick of time.

Nicki Minaj Doubles Down

Nicki Minaj doubled down on sabotage accusations in a Spaces chat on X (formerly Twitter) after her concert.  

“The plane had to time out and they wouldn’t be able to start until 6 A.M. The plane has to time out for a less than two-hour flight?” she questioned. “You thought that you were going to be able to scam some money?” 

She continued, venting about an unnamed enemy plotting against her due to the success of her tour. “They on they last legs, chile,” she said. “A lot of people, they don’t really have a sure thing anymore. So, that’s why the desperation is starting to kick in.” 

Kanye West Reportedly Suspected Of Battery Of Man Who Allegedly Struck Bianca Censori

Kanye West could find himself in trouble with the law again as cops are reportedly investigating claims he got into an altercation with an unnamed man. 

LAPD named Ye as the suspect in an alleged battery, according to TMZ, whose source says cops received a report West punched a man in the face Tuesday night (April 16). Few other details are known, but the man West struck allegedly pushed or grabbed West’s wife, Bianca Censori. 

The outlet reports the alleged victim was not severely injured and did not require treatment. While the couple reportedly left after the alleged altercation, law enforcement intend to speak to West as part of their investigation. LAPD is also seeking witnesses to the alleged altercation.  

It’s not the first time Kanye West has faced battery accusations. An autograph-seeking fan sued West earlier this year for punching him several times, “severely injuring him.”The autograph hunter filed suit for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and loss of consortium. 

Additionally, in 2023, a paparazzo sued Kanye West for assault, battery, negligence and violation of her civil rights. The woman claimed he reached into her car, took her phone and threw it into the street. 

Meanwhile, Kanye West appears in good spirits despite his apparent legal woes. West and Censori were spotted among the visitors at Disneyland on Wednesday (April 17), the day after the alleged battery.  

Rapper Yung Lean also joined the couple. A photo surfaced of the group on the Hyperspace Mountain ride, with Ye poking his tongue out.   

GloRilla Arrested For DUI In Georgia

GloRilla found herself in a predicament with law enforcement this week, when she was apprehended under suspicion of driving under the influence in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The incident, which allegedly happened early Tuesday morning (April 16), resulted in her arrest.

The rapper was reportedly taken into custody around 6:12 a.m. local time and bonded out a few hours later. Charges include driving under the influence, possessing or consuming an open alcoholic beverage container and a separate traffic offense.

According to the police report, the authorities observed a vehicle executing a U-turn at a solid red traffic signal at approximately 4 a.m. local time. Subsequently, the vehicle was flagged down for investigation.

Officers reportedly detected the odor of both marijuana and alcohol coming from the vehicle. GloRilla admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening but declined to disclose the amount. She allegedly maintained she could operate a vehicle safely.

Police claim GloRilla showed signs of impairment, struggled to maintain her balance and failed various physical coordination assessments in a field sobriety test. GloRilla also reportedly refused to undergo a breathalyzer examination.

The arresting officers said GloRilla’s breast accidentally became exposed and an officer was forced to tell her to put it away. As reported by Channel 2 Action News, GloRilla was released from custody after posting a bond of $1,956. GloRilla hasn’t commented on the arrest and her social media doesn’t reflected anything out of the ordinary.

Future and Metro Boomin are set to ignite stages across North America with their ‘We Trust You’ tour amid a brewing Hip-Hop storm with Drake, which they helped to dust up.

The “We Trust You” tour will be an interesting outing, to say the least.

The tour supports their recent back-to-back albums, WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, which hit the music scene with formidable force.

Both albums, accentuated by their contentious lyrical content, ignited an ongoing Hip-Hop battle involving some of the biggest names in the industry, including Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.

But it was the first album in the series that contained “Like That,” Kendrick Lamar’s diss to Drake and J. Cole.

Blacc Zacc and Renni Rucci are expecting a baby boy. Renni Rucci announced her pregnancy by writing a letter to her unborn child via Instagram on Wednesday (April 17).

“Hi, it’s your mom and I can’t wait till the day we finally meet,” she wrote. “To finally see the love that I’ve been feeling manifested into something as tangible as YOU! You are a product of a beautiful bond and you are so loved already. These past few months have been so hard trying to keep you to ourselves. Now, not only are we waiting for you everyone else is too. Earlier this year, Blacc Zacc discussed his relationship with Renni Rucci in an interview with AllHipHop. He rejected the idea of appearing with her on the reality show Love & Hip-Hop

“Hell nah,” he said. “That’s her. I just let her do that and s###. I stay in my lane.”

Blacc Zacc had nothing but nice things to say about his girlfriend while admitting they had ups and downs like most couples. He disliked dealing with the social media trolling in their relationship.

“It’s cool, just like any other relationship,” he said. “It’s always like when I wake up, I’ma choose her. But it be s### going on too. We be arguing sometimes. S###, I be getting in my moods … Got the trolls and s###. Yeah, f### them though.”

Blacc Zacc was open to touring with Renni Rucci. He envisioned the two recording an album together to cement themselves as a Hip-Hop power couple.

Chance The Rapper is celebrating his birthday in an unconventional way by using his grand solar return and social media channels as a platform to petition for Young Thug’s prison release.

On Tuesday (April 16), Chance shared a post on Instagram featuring presumably a throwback video of he and Thug calmly chopping it up stamped with the text “Top 2 DOA [Dead or Alive].” In the caption of the post the “No Problems” rapper revealed that his sole wish for his birthday was for Thug to be able to be with his family as the ongoing YSL RICO trial continues.

“For my birthday I just wish my brother was home with his family,” Chance wrote in part.

As Chance continued, he appeared to criticize the trial, which has been plagued by a number of stoppages and misconduct and subsequently added to Thug’s time behind bars.

“This circus of a trial has had him in custody for over a year and with all the legal errors, jury misconduct and conflicts of interest by the state he deserves to at the very least fight this from home,” he wrote.

Ashanti Confirms Pregnancy Rumors With Nelly In Sly Way

The rumors were true: Ashanti and Nelly are expecting their first child. Ashanti announced her pregnancy in an advertisement for Proov on Wednesday (April 17).

“I’m gonna need about nine months,” she declared in the video, tagging Nelly in the Instagram post.

The baby will be Nelly’s fifth child and Ashanti’s first. The social media reveal ended months of pregnancy rumors.

Last December, the couple stirred up the rumor by seemingly hinting at Ashanti being pregnant during an interaction at Nelly’s Black and White Ball. The speculation increased when Ashanti appeared to be hiding a baby bump when she performed with Ja Rule at a show in January. The singer’s mother/manager Tina Douglas struggled to keep the secret while participating in a panel discussion in March.

“There’s been no announcement,” Douglas said. “It hasn’t come out yet, but, you know, until I hear it from Ashanti and Nelly.”

She added, “No, it is public. Don’t get it twisted, but it hasn’t been officially announced.”

Ashanti and Nelly rekindled their romance in 2023. The couple dated off and on for years before breaking up more than a decade ago. Ashanti addressed their split in a 2015 interview on The Meredith Viera Show.

“I think sometimes when people have their own insecurities, it allows them to act out of character,” Ashanti said. “I’ve been betrayed. And I feel like you just have to grow. You have to grow up. You have to accept responsibility for the things that you do. I’m not a big fan of people being cowards.”

Ashanti and Nelly reunited at Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle in 2021. They performed together for the first time in years in 2022. Fans took notice of their onstage chemistry. The love story came full circle when the couple confirmed they were back together in 2023.

6ix9ine Involved In Shooting? Bullet Hole Spotted On Rapper’s Seized Car

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s cars were seized for nonpayment of taxes, but damage to one of the vehicles raised more questions on Wednesday (April 17). A man involved in the impoundment shared videos of 6ix9ine’s cars on social media. The footage revealed a bullet hole in the green car’s window.

“No matter how much you work for them people or tell on a b####, you can be a rat, n####, they still gon’ take the s###,” the man filming said, referencing 6ix9ine’s testimony against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. “It’s still their s###.”

Fans wondered if 6ix9ine or someone driving his vehicle was involved in a shooting due to the bullet hole. There were no reports of any shootings linked to 6ix9ine this week.

The controversial rapper hasn’t publicly responded to the car seizures. His most recent social media activity involved his girlfriend Yailin La Más Viral, who posted a few clips of the two enjoying a night out via Instagram Stories on Tuesday (April 16).

6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in the Dominican Republic in January. He was released from custody that same month. A judge ordered him to undergo counseling.

Yailin was arrested for battery in Florida in December 2023. 6ix9ine shared videos of his girlfriend attacking him and kicking a vehicle before her arrest.

The multi-platinum-selling artist and Yailin’s problematic relationship played a factor in an earlier arrest in the Dominican Republic. Authorities arrested 6ix9ine for assaulting two producers named Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario Garcia. 6ix9ine was allegedly upset about the producers spending time with Yailin.

A judge issued a restraining order and required 6ix9ine to participate in anger management after he secured bail. Last month, he was spotted on his phone during an anger management class.

James Harden has been working on a film throughout the final push of the NBA’s regular season and elected to rope Yo Gotti’s CMG signee EST Gee into the production for a Morgan Freeman-facing role.

The short film, which doubles as a documentary, was filmed at Harden’s former high school in Lakewood, California. The doc plays off of the villain tropes and narratives that the Los Angeles Clipper’s star has taken on since forcing his way out of both the Houston Rockets franchise and Philadelphia 76ers just seasons ago amid internal woes. The doc itself is entitled UNO, an acronym that stands for “Under No One.” As a result, EST Gee assumes the role of narrating the film, presumably because Freeman was already tied up with another voiceover gig, or simply for aesthetic purposes.

I mean, in more ways than one, it kind of make sense Harden enlisted the “Thump S##t” rapper for his voice over talents, considering EST Gee has labeled himself the equivalent of the rap game’s “Super Villain.” Freeman’s angelic, almost deity-like vocal timbre would’ve completely thrown off the whole, “Who’s really the villain” vibe. Plus, Metro Boomin did recruit Freeman to be the narrator of his “Heroes & Villians” short film last year, so obviously Harden had to go against the grain simply because that’s what he does.

Apart from serving as mainly a promo for his Harden Vol. 8 signature shoe with adidas, the doc gives a glimpse into the California native’s meticulous training routine as well as his charitable efforts for the youth of Artesia High. Harden shared the doc in a tweet in which he wrote, “All Day I Dream About Shinin #UNO.”

Based on the fact James Harden had to get EST Gee into the studio to do the voiceover, it wouldn’t be surprising if some music was to follow. In case you forgot, Harden has an executive producer credit under his belt for Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s 2021 collaborative project, The Voice of the Heroes.

Rick Ross challenged Drake to buy an expensive lot next to Rozay’s property in Miami Beach on Wednesday (April 17). The Maybach Music Group boss boasted about the money he spent on his dream home after his beef with Drake shifted to a real estate debate.

“Yesterday we began talking about real estate,” Ross said. “I don’t know nobody else that’ll buy a $35 million crib and tear it down and do it the way they wanna do it, customized. Well, I did! Here we go, right here on Star Island. I’ma have easily $50 million into this and it’s well worth it. My dream crib.”

He continued, “But right next door, it’s an empty lot. They only asking $37 million for the flat lot … You know who I’d love to be my neighbor! So, my rich friends, it’s available. And I know you got somebody that would love to stay right here next to Ricky Rozay.”

Ross previously mocked Drake for not helping Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, who faced foreclosure threats on a Miami Beach mansion in the past. Ross, wearing a t-shirt featuring the cover art for Cash Money’s Baller Blockin’ film, continued antagonizing Drake and Birdman by referencing the Big Tymers single “Get Your Roll On.”

“These other people don’t have a waiting list for real estate where they from,” Ross said. “Stop. It’s whole different ball game. It’s Ricky Rozay. C’mon, man, you could be my neighbor. I would love to g####### wake up in the morning and hear, ‘Everybody getcha roll on, everybody getcha m############’ … It’s only $37 million! C’mon, man.”

Ross began feuding with Drake in a sprawling rap battle involving Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar and more. Drake dissed Ross on the song “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50).” Ross responded with the diss track “Champagne Moments.”
