GloRilla Set To Drop “EhhThang EhhThang” Mixtape Following “Yeah Glo!” Success

GloRilla proved her run as a national Hip-Hop figure did not end after earning RIAA plaques for her “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” singles. She scored another hit in 2024 thanks to “Yeah Glo!”

As “Yeah Glo!” rises up the Billboard Hot 100 ranks, GloRilla looks to give her fans a new body of work. The Collective Music Group recording artist announced EhhThang EhhThang will drop in April.

“F## IT [speaking head emoji]. I’M DROPPING A MIXTAPE!! Yeah Glo[speaking head emoji]. EhhThang EhhThang 4/5,” Glo tweeted on Thursday (March 21). That X post included a song snippet.

EhhThang EhhThang will follow 2020’s P Status EP and 2022’s Anyways, Life’s Great EP. The “Yeah Glo!” single already earned the 24-year-old rap star another Billboard Hot 100 entry and a co-sign from NBA superstar LeBron James.

Previously, GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd (No. 42) and “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B (No. 9) made it onto the Hot 100. The RIAA certified “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” as platinum. “Tomorrow 2” reached 2x-platinum certification.

In addition, Big Glo linked up with the POTUS this week. She spent time with President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris during a Women’s History Month reception at the White House. Those interactions with Biden and Harris led Laura Coates to interview GloRilla on CNN.

Lil Yachty Responds To Critics Accusing Him Of Biting Playboi Carti’s Sound

Playboi Carti contributed to one of the biggest songs of 2024 as a feature on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival.” Some social media users seem to think Lil Yachty wants to replicate Carti’s success by stealing his style.

It appears Yachty will release new music in the near future. Twitch personality Kai Cenat shared a snippet of a new track by the Atlanta-bred rapper during a recent livestream.

One online critic reacted to the Lil Yachty preview clip by posting, “Carti can’t try 1 new sound without rappers immediately biting him, he’s generational.”

Yachty fired back by tweeting, “Biting him? How did I bite him? The beat? if that’s the case I been workin with Cardo since 2019-2020 on record y’all fans be smoking the strongest d##k.”

Cardo Got Wings produced the title track on Lil Yachty’s recently released Something Ether EP. Lil Boat and Cardo also worked together on 2023’s “Van Gogh” by fellow Atlanta native J.I.D.

Something Ether dropped on February 23. The 6-track, 16-minute effort joined a Lil Yachty discography that includes five studio LPs. 2023’s Let’s Start Here became Lil Boat’s third Top 10 album.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival” featuring Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The collaboration became Carti’s first Number One on that chart.

Has Sexyy Red stamped her name among the all-time greatest women in Hip Hop history? Rapper/YouTuber DDG made that bold declaration about the “Pound Town” performer.

“[Sexyy Red] top 5 female rapper of all time,” DDG tweeted on Wednesday (March 20). The Pontiac, Michigan native’s post amassed more than 2.3 million views on the X social media platform.

Red shared her reaction to DDG putting her in contention for the title of GOAT female rapper. The St. Louis representative wrote, “Dey not gon like you fa dis one [face with tears of joy emojis].”

While Sexyy Red did not break out on a mainstream level until 2023, the self-described Hood Hottest Princess has been releasing music for over five years. For example, her Ghetto Superstar mixtape arrived in 2021.

“Pound Town” became her first national hit when the Tay Keith-produced single peaked at No. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Hip-Hop superstar Nicki Minaj hopped on the official remix/sequel.

Sexyy Red continues to rack up streams. Her latest single “Get It Sexyy” remains at No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top 100: USA daily rankings. Industry forecasters project the song to debut in the Top 20 of the Hot 100.

GloRilla Shares Hilarious Reaction To Meeting President Biden At The White House

GloRilla shared her hilarious reaction to her recent meeting with President Biden and Vice President at the White House’s Women’s History Month reception earlier this month.

The “Yeah Glo” hitmaker was asked about the meeting during a recent appearance on CNN

“It was so cool, I was geeked,” she recalled. “Everybody don’t get to meet the president and the vice president.”

Elsewhere during the conversation, GloRilla deftly dodged questions about politics with a hilarious deflection.

“Did they talk to you about what they wanted politically? Did they want your endorsement?” host Laura Coates asked.

“That aint got nothing to do with me,” she replied before singing “I’m just living my life like it’s golden.”

GloRilla continued, “I’m not gonna talk politics, I love the president, I love everybody. But at the end of the day, the day gotta end.”

The Memphis, Tennessee native said she never imagined “in a million years” she would visit the White House and meet the Commander in Chief and his VP.

Coates then read a text GloRilla received from her mother following her meeting with President Biden.

“I’ve come from being the woman with a bunch of kids, living in a blue house with no real furniture in Frayser to the classiest, most beautiful, and most talented rapper of this generation’s mom who’s moved on up to a beautifully furnished house. Get ’em, Glo!” her mother wrote in a text the rapper shared on Instagram.

Glo said the message “meant everything to me,” before reflecting on her humble beginnings.

“Because we really did come from absolutely nothing,” she added. “It was just a proud moment for my momma.”

Chrisean Rock Plans To Launch TV Network Amid Rumored Show On Ray J’s Tronix Platform

Chrisean Rock has responded to rumors she’s set to appear on Ray J’s new reality TV platform, Tronix Network.

However, according to Chrisean, she’s not had any offers from Ray J but insists any future reality show appearances will be nothing like her past endeavors. Rock claims she’s in her “elevating era” and wants some acting roles and is even working on owning a network of her own.

“I got no clue what rayj talking bout on the breakfast club but wuddup wit it,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories Thursday (March 21). “Just letting yall know im in my elevating era so popping off like I use to ain’t me no more.”

Chrisean Rock said she laid a blueprint for future reality TV stars and wants a change.  “I’m making room for big dog stuff instead,” She said. Rock also claimed fans are more likely to see her in 50 Cent’s BMF than another “’Bad Girls’ type show.”

She continued, “Also im spreading my interest into owning a network,” before adding, “every thing will be coming soon.”

Ray J discussed his new venture during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club although he didn’t mention Chrisean Rock specifically. He described Tronix Network as “that digital ratchet reality TV that’s at the cutting edge.”

Chrisean Rock and Blueface appear in the trailer for the network. However, the clip is from an old Blue Girls Club episode. The show will air on Tronix as The House of Blueface

Rock doubled down on her response to Ray J in an Instagram Live “PSA” to her fans. She explained that she’s been taking some time out and spending time with her son, but big things are on the horizon. Check it out below.

Future & Metro Boomin Drop “We Don’t Trust You” With Kendrick Lamar, Young Thug & More

Future and Metro Boomin have finally delivered the first of their highly anticipated joint offerings, We Don’t Trust You.

The 17-track project arrived at midnight Friday (March 22). It clocks in at just under an hour and features a cast of rap heavyweights, including Playboi Carti, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Rick Ross and more. Stream We Don’t Trust You at the end of the page.

Kendrick Lamar garnered much of the attention upon release with his verse on “Like That.” He was trending No. 1 on X (formerly) Twitter as fans dissected his apparent Drake and J. Cole diss.

Playboi Carti and Rick Ross were also trending for their appearances on “Type S###,” and “Everyday Hustle,” respectively.

Metro Boomin sampled Mobb Deep’s iconic “Quiet Storm” beat for Future to go crazy on “Seen It All.” The duo also paid homage to Mobb Deep in the We Don’t Trust You trailer earlier this month.

“There’s a lot of f#####’ garbage ass rappers out here, running around,” the late Prodigy says in the clip. “These n##### ain’t supposed to be rapping, son. This game is meant for a select, simple few. A select few, man. And that’s what it is today, man, I don’t give a f###, ain’t nothin’ changed.”

We Don’t Trust You follows Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains and Future’s I Never Liked You. Both albums, released in 2022 topped the Billboard 200.

Future and Metro Boomin are set to drop their second project on April 12.

Kendrick Lamar Fans Wild Out Over Drake & J. Cole Diss

Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J. Cole are often touted as the “big three” rappers of their generation, but Kdot is challenging that in his new verse.

Lamar appears as an uncredited feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s long-awaited album, We Don’t Trust You which arrived on Friday (March 22).

His verse on “Like That” quickly went viral and had Kendrick Lamar trending at No. 1 on X (formerly Twitter) as he seemingly takes shots at Drake and J. Cole.

Lamar references the duo’s recent collab, “First Person Shooter,”where Cole questioned who the “hardest” MC is,asking, “Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?”

According to Kendrick, “there is no big three.”

“Sneak dissin’, first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches,” Lamar raps. “I crash out, like, ‘F### rap,’ this Melly Mell if I had to/Got two Ts with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t Andre 3K/Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/Muthafuck the big three, n####, it’s just big me/Niggaa, bum, what? I’m really like that.”

Many fans considered the verse an attack on Drake and Cole. Listen to the track below and check out some of the reactions at the end of the page.

Lamar’s verse came just a day after Big Sean referenced rap’s elite trifecta in a new freestyle.

“I think where I lack most as an artist is consistency/I just haven’t had the energy to compete with enemies/Or y’all so-called bigger three/But every verse I lay, fans love to say, ‘Man, n##### is sleep!'” the Detroit native declared.

Nardo Wick Alleged Fan Attacker Forfeits Bond Over Missed Court Date

An associate of Nardo Wick, who was accused of brutally attacking a teenage fan last year, may have just landed himself in even more trouble.

On Wednesday (March 20), court documents obtained by TMZ revealed Zachary L. Benton, 34, missed a scheduled court date in connection to his assault of 15-year-old George Obregon last December. As a result of the missed date, Benton forfeit his $2,000 cash bond. Prior to the missed date, Benton actually turned himself in to authorities.

A 15-year-old individual was also arrested, and both were booked on felony battery charges. The teenager faces an additional charge for being a minor in possession of a firearm while wearing a mask.

Obregon and his friend Connor Villa attended a concert Wick performed in Tampa at Club Skye. Both Obregon and Villa attempted to approach Wick’s entourage the request a photo with the “Who Want Smoke” rapper after the concert ended. That’s when Obregon was approached by Benton, who punched the teen so hard he was knocked out cold and hit his head on the pavement when he fell to the ground. Authorities allege the teenager charged alongside Obregon also struck the victim multiple times after he was knocked out, before Wick stepped in.

According to reports, Obregon was rushed to the hospital where he was allegedly treated for a severe concussion, and spots where he was believed to be hemorrhaging. Medical professionals are apparently unclear whether or not Obregon will suffer from long term effects from the attack.

Diddy Appears To Address Sexuality In Interview Clip, But Is It AI-Generated?

Did Diddy do it may truly become the question of the day based on the recent emergence of a bizarre video allegedly featuring the Bad Boy music mogul.

As early as March 18, a clip surfaced of what appears to be a video interview between Diddy and an unknown entity seemingly only identifiable by a watermarked logo that reads JBK 73 Questions. Though the clip is brief, it tackles some tough topics in a short amount of time as Diddy and the interviewer share a bit of a friendly back and forth.

For example, when the interviewer asks him if he’s attracted to men or women, Diddy replied, “It depends on my mood and my vibe.” And in an even more coy response, Diddy told the interviewer “I can’t tell you that now,” when questioned about his alleged sexual encounter with Meek Mill.

The clip then abruptly ends and there’s almost no trace of the actual existence of the full interview. Not to mention that the clip also only lives on Twitter (X) at the moment, and users are already speculating that even if it isn’t AI-generated, Diddy is trolling everyone. It’s worth noting that Diddy actually did do a 73 Questions interview with Vogue nearly six years ago, which could be where the idea for the clip was pulled from.

DaBaby’s Face Has Apparently Taken Georgia Smoke Shop By Storm

DaBaby could quite possibly be one of the most resourceful artists in the game right now when it comes to branding and marketing. His recent encounter at a smoke shop is proof.

During one of DaBaby’s latest misadventures shared to his Instagram Story, the “Rockstar” rapper discovered his likeness has become a hot commodity in Decatur, Georgia. Upon stumbling into a random smoke shop, DaBaby discovered his face, and even cover artwork from albums such as his Baby On Baby LP plastered all over an assortment of products. From grinders to full-blown smoking kits, you name it, Baby’s face was on it.

“Hold on man, we gotta discuss this,” DaBaby said in part before adding, “Boy I need my percentage, you gotta give me one for free or something.”

One of the products, which features a sizeable wooden box packed with a grinder, rolling tray and more, was emblazoned with DaBaby’s face and valued at nearly $50.

The situation, which could’ve turned ugly quickly, actually appeared to veer more toward becoming a lucrative business opportunity for DaBaby, who eventually worked out a deal with the shop owner so they could continue selling the products.

“I need $4.99 every time y’all sell one, put $4.99 to the side for me,” he said before telling the camera “Come shop with my boys in Decatur, Georgia man, get one of these for your baby momma.”

YesJulz Claims Kanye West Said He’s Not Suing Her Despite Legal Threat

YesJulz blamed Kanye West’s “chief of staff” Milo Yiannopoulos for threatening her with a lawsuit. The influencer said Ye privately denied suing her for roughly $8 million.

“He has not told me he is suing me,” she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “I have not seen HIS signature on the paper. The letter of intent to arbitrate was very clearly written by Milo. Signed by Ye’s lawyer, who is also at the will of Milo.”

She continued, “If the suit moves forward and Ye allows it to, sure i may feel different. & i’ll do what needs to be done to defend myself. I have no fear because i’ve done no wrong. Until then, i have compassion and grace for Ye as i know first hand how the people around him move & i feel its only a matter of time before the truth is revealed & he realizes whats truly going on. I pray for his continued success & protection.”

YesJulz responded to a fan who asked why Ye would say he’s not suing her after posting an intent to arbitrate wit her on his Instagram account. YesJulz believed someone else posted the legal document on Kanye’s Instagram Stories, noting how quickly the post was deleted.

“What other posts do you see going up and down that fast?” she wrote. “He is not the only one with access to that account.”

Kanye’s team fired YesJulz for allegedly violating her non-disclosure agreement. She dared Yiannopoulos and Yeezy lawyers to sue her.

“One thing I won’t do is sit here and let a group of d*ck riding, misogynist yes men go out of their way to slander my name in an attempt to ruin everything I have worked my ass off to build from scratch over the past decade,” she wrote on March 18.

YesJulz was fired amid the rollout of Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures 2 album. The project was supposed to drop on March 8, but it was delayed with no announcement of a new release date.

Carlee Russell Pleads Guilty To Lying About Kidnapping & Receives Sentence

Carlee Russell avoided jail for faking a kidnapping in 2023. According to multiple reports, a judge sentenced her to 12 months of probation for the hoax on Thursday (March 21).

Russell pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of filing a false police report and falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement. Judge David Carpenter said it would be “a waste of government resources” to put Russell in jail.

The judge ordered Russell to pay $17,974.88 in restitution to the City of Hoover. Russell must complete 100 hours of community service.

Last year, Russell called police to report a child on the interstate in Hoover before she went missing. She reemerged two days later and told authorities she was kidnapped. She claimed a man and woman abducted her when she supposedly stopped to check on a child walking on the highway. The case received national attention.

Police found no evidence of a child on the interstate and discovered suspicious searches on Russell’s phone. Russell admitted she lied about the kidnapping as police investigated her claims. The 26-year-old woman apologized for her actions at her sentencing.

“I want to genuinely apologize for my actions, and the resulting negative impact inflicted onto others. I made a grave mistake while trying to fight through various emotional issues and stress,” Russell said. “I’m extremely remorseful for the panic, fear and various range of negative emotions that were experienced across the nation.”

She added, “I want to specifically acknowledge and take accountability for the pain and embarrassment that I inflicted upon my family, my church family, friends, neighbors, community, and all of those who were directly involved in search efforts for me.”

Russell is scheduled to return to Jefferson County Circuit Court for a hearing on October 16. The judge will review her restitution payments and community service progress.

Beyoncé Publicist Answers Erykah Badu’s Copycat Claims With Receipts

Beyoncé’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure shut down accusations of the superstar biting Erykah Badu’s style on the Cowboy Carter album cover. Noel-Schure posted multiple examples of Beyoncé sporting braided hair in response to Badu, who suggested her look was copied for the cover.

“She slays,” Noel-Schure wrote on Instagram. “She slays. Now. Then. Always. act ii COWBOY CARTER 3.29 #criticswithoutcredentials.”

Badu reacted to Beyoncé’s cover with a simple “Hmmm” on Instagram Stories, but the Beyhive did not take the comment lightly. Beyoncé’s diehard fans went on the attack as Badu asked for Jay-Z’s help.

“To Jay Z,” Badu wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Say somethin Jay. You gone let this woman and these bees do this to me??”

Beyoncé unveiled her Cowboy Carter album cover on Tuesday (March 19). She also revealed the inspiration for the project.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” she wrote. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

She continued, “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”

SIGNS: Florida Governor Signs Bill Banning Homeless People From Dwelling In Public Spaces

In a move which will likely ignite controversy, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has taken aim at the state’s homeless population, signing legislation that effectively bans camping or sleeping on public property.

With the stroke of his pen, DeSantis turned the tide in what he framed as a battle to restore order and safety to Florida’s streets.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Governor Ron DeSantis (@flgovrondesantis)

Republican Rep. Sam Garrison, who sponsored the bill, told the USA TODAY Network $30 million had been allocated by the state for “continuums of care” to prepare for the law—an additional $10 million more than the year prior.

“This bill ensures that homeless individuals have the resources they need to get back on their feet,” DeSantis said at the bill signing ceremony.

But critics have wasted no time in slamming the legislation, decrying it as an attack on the most vulnerable members of society. Megan Sarmento, an outreach program manager, pulled no punches in her assessment, stating, “We’re going to need so much more funding if we’re going to build up these resources.”

The bill, set to take effect on October 1, mandates that municipalities designate specific public spaces for camping, but with a caveat–approval from the state Department of Children and Families is required. Those parameters are also in addition to a laundry list of stringent requirements, including security, behavioral health services and access to bathrooms with running water. DeSantis defended the law, framing it as a necessary step to prevent Florida cities from resembling the chaos of San Francisco’s streets.

Now, with an estimated 30,809 homeless individuals in the state, according to the Florida Department of Health, the stakes have never been higher. The legislation, while lacking penalties for those living on the streets, empowers local residents and businesses. However, the state attorney general will now also be able to sue municipalities that fail to adhere to the restrictions as a result of the bill.

Freaknik Documentary Hits Hulu & Inspires Parade Of Memes

Hulu’s documentary Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told premiered on Thursday (March 21). The film’s streaming debut sparked a mix of jokes and serious reflection, making Freaknik a trending topic on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The Freaknik documentary featured the contributions of multiple Hip-Hop artists. Jermaine Dupri, 21 Savage and 2 Live Crew’s Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell served as the film’s executive producers. Lil Jon, Killer Mike, CeeLo Green and Too $hort were among the notable names who appeared in the documentary.

Freaknik: The Wildest Party Next Told was directed by P. Frank Williams. The director explained his approach to the film in an interview with CNN.

“I’m a documentarian of Black culture, and I wanted to give the vegetables and the candy,” Williams said. “I think a lot of people are in love with the candy, which is the turn up at the street parties, the wilding out on the freeway, the going crazy in the middle of the street at Freaknik. I wanted to do a much more layered look.”

The documentary explored Freaknik’s evolution from a simple college cookout in the ‘80s to wild festivities that consumed Atlanta before getting shut down in the late ‘90s. The film aimed to show why Freaknik developed an almost mythical reputation over the years without ignoring the disturbing parts of its history.

“In telling the full story of Freaknik, to omit the sexual assault and to omit the things that did cause harm is not allowing the full story to be told,” producer Jay Allen said. “So we just wanted to make sure that as you watch this, that no other documentary about Freaknik ever has to be told.”

Check out some of the reactions to Hulu’s Freaknik documentary below.

Charleston White Seeks FBI’s Help After Accusing Boosie Badazz Of Threatening Promoter

Charleston White declared he would send Boosie Badazz back to jail for threatening a promoter in the rapper’s hometown of Baton Rouge. According to White, Boosie allegedly attempted to block the internet provocateur’s booking in Baton Rouge by intimidating the show’s promoter.

“Boosie I’ma put your m############ ass in jail n####,” White said on social media. “Boy, you making threats to the promoter. I got a recorded phone conversation with witnesses on the phone saying the promoter is scared for his life that he got to live in Baton Rouge, that Boosie gon’ send them people to get you.”

He continued, “He said he can’t have the show ‘cause Boosie—I said, ‘N####, I’ll just hire the police.’ The promoter scary, scary ass n####. Yeah, n####, Boosie is a ho. And I bet he don’t wanna get in that boxing ring. See Boosie, you gon’ send somebody, but you ain’t gonna do nothing, b#### ass n####. I’ma put yo b#### ass in jail, n####.”

White wanted to get the FBI involved in the matter. The polarizing figure taunted Boosie as White believed his foe would end up behind bars.

“I’m waiting for the FBI to send me the right kinda number, n####, ‘cause I’m finna make a report on your m############ ass,” White said. “The man called your name specifically. The promoter specifically said your m############ name, Lil Boosie. He implemented you and implicated you. B#### ass n####, you finna go back to jail. You gon’ be on yo knees. Them knees finna be bleeding again, diabetic freak.”

White claimed the promotor asked him not to contact the authorities, but he rejected the request. He hoped to cause more trouble for Boosie after playing a role in the 2023 arrest of Boosie’s son Tootie Raww. White added to the messy situation by posting Boosie’s federal paperwork from an ongoing gun case on Thursday (March 21).

Jonathan Majors Says He’s “Not Surprised” By Ex-Girlfriend’s Assault & Defamation Lawsuit

Grace Jabbari filed a federal lawsuit in New York against her ex-boyfriend, Jonathan Majors. The suit came after a jury found Majors guilty of assaulting and harassing Jabbari during a March 2023 incident in the state.

In addition, Grace Jabbari accused Jonathan Majors of defamation. Her legal team claims Majors attempted to paint Jabbari as a “crazy liar” and not a victim of his physical and emotional abuse.

TMZ caught up with Majors after the Creed III actor took part in a training session. When asked about his former girlfriend’s pending litigation, he responded, “I’m not surprised. I knew it was coming from the beginning.”

New York police officers arrested Jonathan Majors for assault and harassment. After pleading not guilty, the California-born entertainer’s criminal trial began in November 2023.

Majors was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree, both misdemeanor charges. The 34-year-old Yale University graduate will be sentenced during an April 8 court hearing.

As a result of his conviction, Marvel Studios dropped Jonathan Majors from his high-profile role as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU movie franchise. He reportedly met Grace Jabbari while filming 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The St. Louis rapper is part of a wave of female rappers who’ve found commercial success in recent years. Sexyy Red’s musical takeover has some rap fans questioning the output of her male peers.

In particular, one social media user posted a tongue-in-cheek video asking men like Lil Baby, Future and Kodak Black to save him with some new music. The man said, “I just can’t keep doing what I’m doing. I’m sneaking in the car listening to g###### Sexyy Red.”
