After his death, Kel paid tribute to the late rapper by sharing a clip of Coolio’s cameo in his sketch show, “All That,” a video of his surprise appearance at a Coolio concert, and of Coolio performing the “Kenan & Kel’ theme song in the comedy’s title sequence.
“We recently spoke a few months ago laughing and having such a good time. So many great memories with you bro!” the comedian wrote in the caption on Instagram.
Directly addressing Coolio, Kel shared his last memory of the R&B star.
“Last thing you told me when we last spoke a few months ago you told me you loved how I keep things positive and to keep doing that,” Kel wrote. “I will Coolio and thank you for sharing your light and your talent with us all and thank you for inspiring so many in your lyrics. Be at peace in the hands of our Heavenly Father and praying God comforts your family during this time. Much love bro!!!”
Other memories that Kel shared included meeting Coolio for the first time on the set of “All That,” commissioning him to write the “Kenan & Kel” theme song, and Coolio attending the “Good Burger” pop-up, inspired by Kel’s TV sketch and spin-off movie, as part of his birthday celebrations.
Paramedics reportedly attempted to resuscitate Coolio using CPR for 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead. The rapper’s manager, Jarez Posey, told NBC News that he had died from a heart attack.
Disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly, who spent much of his career calling himself the musical Pied Piper (a fictional character that persuaded children to run away with him with his music), has been hit with more devastating financial news.
After being convicted of racketeering and the Man Act in Brooklyn in 2021, U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly is now determining the songwriter and producer will have to pay $300,668.18 in restitution to the government’s principal witness, a woman who testified as Jane.
This money, well over a quarter million dollars, will go to cover the projected costs of therapy and treatment for herpes she received after having sexual relations with him.
He never told her she had herpes, even though she started dating him when she was 17-year-old and in high school and he was almost 50.
Jane was granted permission from her parents to finish up her senior year in high school with the Grammy award singer and lived with him for about five years.
While there, she was physically abused, including being punched and dragged by her hair.
During the trial, it was discovered Kelly once beat her with an Uptown Sneaker and whipped her with a cord, leaving a bruise and bloodied skin.
He also made her have sex with men she didn’t know as a punishment.
R. Kelly will also have to pay another woman named Stephanie $8,400 in mental health costs. He started having sex with her when she was 17, and he was 32.
The question is … where will he get this money from?
R. Kelly has a net worth of -$2 million and owes in total $450,000 in restitution to a few people exploited by him. Prosecutors said he is not as broke as he says he is. Right before his 2021 trial, he sold parts of his publishing for $5 million.
The Insider reports that the prosecution revealed, “Sony has withheld paying Kelly royalties from his master recordings as the company deals with judgments related to civil legal proceedings against him. They’re currently holding on to between $3.5 and $4.5 million worth of royalties for Kelly but owe $7 million in judgments.”
“The composition and lyrics rights, however, were sold for $5 million in August,” the article further stated. He also still gets paid through music.
“Through his R&B music, [R. Kelly] received revenue from two separate forms of intellectual property rights. One is from his master recordings, which is owned by Sony,” the article explained. “The other is the rights to his composition and lyrics.”
His lawyers deny all of this is true.
Even if it is, he does not have access to it in jail. Even his commissary account has been taken by the government. He had $28,000, and now they left him with $500,
I guess now he sees there is something wrong with “a little bump and grind.”
Teen drill rapper C Blu is not as tough as his music might suggest.
He was nabbed on Tuesday, September 27th, for allegedly having a loaded gun when police spotted him on Garden Street and Crotona Avenue in the Bronx.
The 17-year-old cried when Judge Joseph McCormack ordered him to be held on cash bail, or bonds of $250,000 or $300,000, during a Thursday, September 29th hearing.
According to the New York Post, the gangbanger, whose real name is Camrin Williams, broke down in tears, sobbing as he exited the Bronx Criminal Court after the arraignment.
The prosecution wanted him to be held on $150,000 cash bail or a $450,000 bond and shared why she believed either bail or bond should be set high for the Reyway Crew artist, considering his self-professed relationship with firearm-involved violence.
Bronx Assistant District Attorney Alana Brady told the judge, “[C Blu] is a self-professed member of the Crips. [C Blu’s] social media contains multiple posts with firearms and implications of willingness and ready ability to shoot any member of [the] opposition,” she continued.
When he was released after posting a $250,000 bond, C Blu was arrested a week later for violating his parole orders. That charge was dismissed in May without explanation.
Dawn Florio said, “My client was outside a car. Police comes with their guns out, circling around the block. A lot of video surveillance taken by cameras. Police targeted my client, guns drawn, he was scared for his life. He took out his phone, his hands were up.”
She said in court, “he didn’t get into a fight. He’s scared.” “He’s really traumatized by the whole event. He lost all his month. He is a boy.”
Florio never denied he had a gun.
The judge responded, “I know this is the third contact [with the criminal justice system. This is a serious offense.”
According to police records, C Blu has been getting popped for gun-related crimes since he was 14.
Do you know how we do over here in the States, there’s generally gotta be a conspiracy theory attached to young non-violent death. This particularly applies when the artist in question is one that is smart, intelligent and may buck up against the system. Well, Coolio was very outspoken in his later days.
Some of his interviews showed some very real enlightenment and knowledge of just about everything. It is for this reason that many people believe that he was murdered. I am not saying that. I am however interested in a lot of the commentary that he had with him in his last days.
For one, he said that he “saw things” that would definitely get him killed if he were to reveal them. In other instances, he made it clear that Africans were here before any other people. And in general, he basically says there’s a lot of funny business going on the higher you ascend into superstardom.
Does this mean he was killed? No. We know that a lot came with the life that the brother lead. One the flip side, new reports say he was healthy as a m###. This is definitely above my pay grade, but I am paying eternal respect to my dude Coolio. Never wack, just super high in the sky early on.

Trevor Noah announced his exit from “The Daily Show” after seven years on Thursday.
The South African comedian, who took over “The Daily Show” from Jon Stewart in 2015, announced he was stepping down as host of the talk show during the program on Thursday.
“I realized that after the seven years, my time is up, but in the most beautiful way,” he said, as the studio audience gasped. “I’ve loved hosting this show. It’s been one of my greatest challenges. It’s been one of my greatest joys. I’ve loved trying to figure out how to make people laugh even when the stories are particularly s**tty on the worst days. But after seven years, I feel like it’s time.”
The 38-year-old explained that he wants to go on a stand-up comedy tour across many countries as he misses “just being everywhere and doing everything” following the pandemic.
“I’ve never been good at goodbyes,” he continued. “I’m really grateful to a network who believed in this random comedian nobody knew on this side of the world.
“I want to say thank you to you (gesturing to the audience and viewers) ’cause, man, I never dreamed I would be here… I couldn’t have done it without you, and I wouldn’t have wanted to do it without you. We’ll figure out the timings and the whens, and we’ll still be here for the time being, all I can say is thank you very much.’
Trevor celebrated the seventh anniversary of his first episode on Wednesday. The date of his final episode has not been announced.
In response to the news, a Comedy Central spokesperson said in a statement, “We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years. With no timetable for his departure, we’re working together on next steps.”
How long will this go on? Was a rapper killed for naming names or just because he’s a young Black male?
A group of young men ran down on him in the streets, in the broad day. They had ski masks and guns. At about 6:15 pm, in the Bronx, they let them thangs go. The rumors on the streets say that the killing was a result of Aracena naming names in rap songs. The New York Daily News says that area of the hood is a big gang territory. However, the family is saying that is not the case.
Aracena was not a big time rapper, as you may already know. But he was a rapper. In this day and age you don’t have to be a platinum seller to create any sort of drama on the streets. There was a whole gang with ski masks waiting for bro as he sat outside about a block away from his house.
They shot him in the middle of the street. He was rushed to the local Lincoln Medical Center, but he was dead upon arrival. I do not know what songs he may have dropped them names in, but does that matter? A 17-year old was murdered in the streets by a posse. If it was over rap lyrics, it only complicates the matter.
“He was very new to drill and said the wrong thing in a song,” said City Councilman Oswald Feliz. “That may have made him a target. In my district, we’ve seen that pattern over and over.”
Kendrick Lamar is not the most active person on social media. On Thrusday, the Compton-bred emcee did open his Twitter app to show love to Ti$A brand founder Taz Arnold.
“The westside original… my Mount Rushmore of style,” tweeted Lamar, referring to the nearly 100-year-old Mount Rushmore National Memorial sculpture of four famous United States presidents.
Kendrick Lamar’s Twitter post also included four different photos of Taz Arnold wearing different outfits. That tweet collected over 1,500 retweets and 24,000 likes in less than fifteen hours.
Taz Arnold is a recording artist in his own right. He is a member of the Los Angeles-based Sa-Ra Creative Partners music group. Sa-Ra released The Hollywood Recordings in 2007 and Nuclear Evolution: The Age of Love in 2019.
Kendrick Lamar’s critically-acclaimed 2015 album, To Pimp a Butterfly, included songwriting and production work by Taz Arnold. Additionally, Arnold has created music with Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, Erykah Badu, Dr. Dre, and others.
Hip Hop and fashion fans may also recognize Taz Arnold from an iconic 2009 photo that also featured Kanye “Ye” West, Virgil Abloh, Don C, Fonzworth Bentley, and Chris Julian. The Paris Fashion Week image became an über-viral meme at the time.
While taking time out to give Taz Arnold his flowers on social media, Kendrick Lamar is also preparing to take The Big Steppers Tour to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers album creator closed out the American leg of the trek in his hometown of Los Angeles two weeks ago.
Kid Cudi joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily to talk about both Entergalactic projects. Specifically, the Cleveland native reflected on exploring love and vulnerability on the LP.
“The idea of making an album where the theme is love could come off a little cheesy if done the wrong way. My whole thing was, ‘How can I do this from the Kid Cudi perspective, where I never look at myself as Mr. Smooth, or any type of guy like that?'” explained Cudi.
He continued, “So, my s### comes from a very sensitive, vulnerable, honest place, and that was the angle that I took. It wasn’t trying to be cool, or trying to say the slickest s###. It was more so like, ‘Hey baby, these are my feelings. This is what’s on my heart. Do you feel this way too?'”
Kid Cudi also clarified the songs on Entergalactic were not necessarily written from his personal perspective. Many of the lyrics on the album represent what his Entergalactic character, Jabari, was feeling in the story.
Will Making Albums Be Pushed To The Back Burner?
Scott Mescudi could be ready to move past making full bodies of work. The veteran rapper/actor spoke to Zane Lowe about where he sees his music career going from here.
“The Kid Cudi stuff, I think I want to put it on the back burner and chill out with that. I think I want to be done with it. I think [about] closing the chapter on Kid Cudi,” admitted the Grammy-winning entertainer.
He added, “The goal for Entergalactic, I was bored of making albums. Just doing an album, two music videos, and that’s it. And I was like, ‘Man, I went into this wanting to do something epic and different.’ And now, that I’ve done that…”
Kid Cudi did state that he does not see himself ever completely quit from making music. However, he suggested going out on tour could be a thing of the past for him.
Fatherhood Could Play A Role In Kid Cudi Walking Away From Making Music Full Time
“I’ve said a lot and I have other desires, I have other things I want to do. And I do not see me never making music, I’ll always f### around in the studio, or make something here and there,” said Kid Cudi. “But, as far as getting in the studio and working on an album, and then going and touring it, I just don’t have it in me. I don’t have the desire.”
The 38-year-old father also added, “I really want to spend more time with my daughter. We’ve been kicking in a lot lately, and I’ve been having more time and it’s good. She’s growing up. Our relationship is super tight. It’s what I always dreamed of.”
Entergalactic debuted today (September 30) on Netflix. The cast includes Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Jessica Williams, Ty Dolla $ign, Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Teyana Taylor, and Macaulay Culkin.
The Entergalactic album also dropped today via Wicked Awesome/Republic Records. Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, Steve Aoki, and Don Toliver make guest appearances on the project. Kid Cudi, Dot Da Genius, Plain Pat, Take A Daytrip, WondaGurl, and others provided production.
It appears DJ Akademiks is not the only person pushing the idea that DaBaby has been expelled from the A-list. Meek Mill and Boosie Badazz jumped on that conspiracy theory train too.
DJ Akademiks took it a step further by directly blaming DaBaby’s sales drop on industry insiders like Apple Music’s Ebro Darden and the streaming companies. Darden pushed back by pointing out that Akademiks works for Spotify, the most popular music streaming platform in the world.
Meek Mill entered the conversation by sharing his thoughts on the topic. The Expensive Pain album creator tweeted, “[They’re] blatantly blackballing DaBaby… not my business but ima observer. 👨🏾🔬.”
Less than 15 minutes later, Boosie posted his own allegations. He tweeted, “Ain’t no way my n#### @DaBabyDaBaby [is] supposed to sell 16k after selling almost 150k his last first week!! He [is] one of the BIGGEST n this s###!! I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY GOING ON!!”

Ain’t no way my n#### @DaBabyDaBaby supposed to sell 16k after selling almost 150k his last first week ‼️he one of the BIGGEST n this s### ‼️I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY GOING ON ‼️
Meek & Boosie’s Backing Of DaBaby Did Not Go Over Well On Twitter
Many social media users responded to both Meek Mill and Boosie Badazz by suggesting that the general public may have decided to just move on from listening to DaBaby. Others mentioned DaBaby’s history of offensive statements and problematic actions that could have caused a loss of fan support.
“Boosie and nem really trying to turn DaBaby’s flop into some grand conspiracy. Dude showed his hand when he dropped those Meg bars. He’s desperate and was hoping to move units off high school-level gossip. And it didn’t work. What’s next?” wrote journalist Britni Danielle.
DaBaby’s Baby on Baby 2 follows 2019’s Baby on Baby, 2019’s Kirk, and 2020’s Blame It on Baby. The latter studio LP opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 124,000 first-week units. Kirk also opened at #1 with 145,000 first-week units.
Boosie and nem really trying to turn DaBaby's flop into some grand conspiracy. Dude showed his hand when he dropped those Meg bars. He's desperate and was hoping to move units off high school-level gossip. And it didn't work. What's next?
People misuse the word "black ball" every day on here. DaBaby was and is not blackballed. Consumers got tired of him rapping with the same flow over the same type of beats since 2019. But so many times you can hear flutes and "Oh lord, Jetson made another one." https://t.co/mD80AKJIfB
Tory Lanez is back with a new body of work. The singer/rapper’s Sorry 4 What arrived today (September 30) via One Umbrella.
As part of the album’s rollout, Tory Lanez held a listening event in New York City. Several well-known Hip Hop figures showed up for the party.
Ty Dolla $ign, Dave East, Nav, Bobby Shmurda, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie were among the guests in attendance. A Boogie also appears on Sorry 4 What as a guest feature.
Tory Lanez Explains The Meaning Of Sorry 4 What Title
Earlier this week, Tory Lanez recently stopped by The Breakfast Club to promote Sorry 4 What. During the interview, the show’s hosts asked the Canadian musician about the album title.
“I’ve always been a very unapologetic person when it comes to my craft and to things that I enjoy and the things that I love. And I feel like when we were creating the album and creating the album title, and listening to the music and how it sounds, it sounds unapologetic,” said Tory Lanez.
Lanez Faces Multiple Accusations Of Violence
Some listeners may have seen the name of Tory Lanez’s latest project and assumed it was a response to the rhymer being associated with several alleged violent incidents over the last few years.
In addition, Tory Lanez found himself back in the headlines after R&B singer August Alsina claimed Lanez attacked him backstage at a comedy show/concert. Lanez denied being involved. However, Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam tour organizer Rip Michaels said he witnessed the attack.
Sorry 4 What joins a Tory Lanez album discography that includes the Gold-certified I Told You and the Gold-certified Chixtape 5. The 1980s-inspired Alone at Prom dropped in December 2021.
Lethal Bizzle has been recognized for his outstanding contribution at the AIM Independent Music Awards in London.
The U.K. grime scene pioneer admitted: “It’s nice to get your flowers when you can still smell them,” during his acceptance speech.
“I’m only one of the components of the culture I represent that helped get this scene where it is.” Lethal Bizzle then paid tribute to his “fellow OGs” of the U.K. scene, including Kano, Giggs, Skepta, Wiley, JME, Dizzee Rascal, D Double E, Ghetts Wretch 32, J2K Chip, Jammer, Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, So Solid Crew, Ms. Dynamite and many more.
Before the ceremony at London’s Roundhouse on Wednesday (Sept. 28), Lethal Bizzle revealed he was “proud” to receive the acknowledgement after a career spanning over two decades.
“It feels great, you know,” he told BANG Showbiz. “I’m 20 plus years in and when you get to this stage in your career sometimes things can be forgotten. I feel like it’s a nice acknowledgement.” he added, “t’s a proud moment for my hard work to be recognised like this.”
Lethal Bizzle also performed at the ceremony and admitted he was a little “rusty.” The rapper turned international property developer also revealed he’s ready to get back on tour next year.
“This year I dropped my new project, a celebratory 20th anniversary project called ‘Lethal B vs Lethal Bizzle,’ which is out now.”
“Next year, I’m hoping to get back on the road. I’m actually performing tonight. It’s gonna be my first show since the pandemic so, you know, I’m gonna be a bit rusty but it’s gonna be fun.”
Earlier this month, Lethal Bizzle gave the visual treatment to his single “If The Shoe Fits” featuring K-Trap. The collab, taken from his recent project Lethal B Vs Lethal Bizzle, sees the two generations of U.K. rappers go back and forth. Check out the visuals below.
YNW Melly has been accused of planning to escape prison in a plot that also included his attorney.
The accusation was made during a court hearing on Tuesday (Sept. 27). Jamell “YNW Melly” Demons has remained locked up since his arrest in 2019. He is currently awaiting trial for first-degree murder charges. Prosecutors allege he murdered his friends Anthony Williams (a.k.a. YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (a.k.a. YNW Juvy) in 2018.
This latest development comes just days after YNW Melly was accused of possessing shanks and pipe bombs. A fellow inmate claimed the rapper had them in his cell.
A statement shared by the Broward County Sheriff’s General Counsel’s Office with Complex on Thursday (Sept. 29), details the evidence they found in relation to the escape plot.
Attorney For YNW Melly Also Accused Of Aiding Escape
“On April 11, 2022, Broward Sheriff’s Office received a confidential tip regarding inmates Nicholas Lewis and Jamell Demons, both housed in the same unit at the Main Jail, planning an escape from jail by having Demons’ attorney bring in two handcuff keys to aid in the escape. Additional information provided by the source was that Lewis had a shank and drugs,” the statement reads.
Lewis’s cell was searched following a tip given to jail authorities by another inmate. During the search, they found a six-inch shank, two razor blades, two lighters, and rolling papers. They also found Seroquel and Klonopin pills, which he isn’t prescribed. YNW Mell’s cell was also searched, however, all they discovered was food from the commissary and “excessive jail-issued clothing.”
“The confidential source gave us two pieces of information,” said Christian Tsoubanos, Assistant General Counsel for the Broward Sheriff’s Office, during Tuesday’s hearing. “One of them [about the shank and drugs] turned out to be a hundred percent true. And when they did the search of Demons’ cell, they did not find the handcuff key, but it could have been that there was not an opportunity to bring it into the facility yet.”
Victim’s Mother Says Plot Suggests YNW Melly is Guilty
The lawyer representing YNW Juvy’s mother Leondra Phillips in her civil suit against Melly, said the escape plot points to the rapper’s guilt.
“As an attorney for a victim, we strongly feel any attempts to escape justice point to guilt,” John M. Phillips told Complex. “This matter needs to be fully investigated, including the attorney’s involvement. Certainly, there are times when informants and even government agents are wrong or engaging in misconduct, but we’ve seen so much in this case from rooftop stripper parties across to diamond teeth dentist needs, this is yet another chapter in what needs to just be finished in court.”
Tory Lanez has returned with an unapologetic new album, Sorry 4 What.
The 20-song project clocks in at an hour and 15 minutes with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie the only guest feature. Stream it at the end of the page.
The project follows on from last year’s ’80s-inspired album, Alone At Prom. Since then, he’s been keeping his fans content with a steady stream of Fargo Friday drops.
Tory Lanez explained he wants listeners to feel “satisfied” after listening to Sorry 4 What.
“This album is a f#####’ piece of work, n####,” Tory Lanez explained in a video shared on IG. “It’s a real body of work. I’m not—I don’t like givin’ you long albums, I’m not a long album person. I used to be back in the day and I stopped, but this time, I really want you to feel satisfied.”
Tory Lanez also spoke about being inspired by fellow Canadians Drake and the Weeknd, thanking them for keeping him motivated. He said after he and Drake squashed their beef, they acknowledged that despite being “family,” they will always “be in competition with each other.”
“Thank y’all for always staying on top of your game, reminding me to stay on top of mine,” wrote Tory Lanez. “4ever ready to play this sport with y’all.”
Freddie Gibbs is back with a new album, his first solo studio album in four years, $oul $old $eparately.

Also on Friday, Freddie Gibbs also dropped the music video for “Space Rabbit, coinciding with the release of the record. Watch it below and stream $oul $old $eparately at the end of the page.
Freddie Gibbs – Space Rabbit
The title of the album refers to Freddie Gibb’s “refusal to compromise his morals or integrity under the pressures of the industry,” the label said in a press release.
In the lead-up to the album’s release, Freddie Gibbs stopped by Funk Flex to freestyle over Amerie’s “Why Don’t We Fall in Love.” He told the DJ that he’s “coming for album of the year,” “like I did last year.”
The Gary, Indiana native earned a Best Rap Album Grammy nomination for Alfredo, his 2020 collaborative album with Alchemist.
$oul $old $eparately serves as a follow-up to Gibbs’ fourth album Freddie, released in 2018. Then came the joint records with Madlib, Bandana in 2018, and Alfredo with The Alchemist the following year.
PNB Rock is dead and the suspects are now in custody. The last suspect, a father, is now in custody along with his wife and his son. I think the bar has dropped beneath the ground, as low as we are now. 1 dead. 3 in jail.
This, however, it is exactly where we are. But if you look at the first sentence of this article, you will realize that something is awry. Prior to his capture, the father, through his Instagram, posted that message. Cryptic, but clear. He was expressing regret and also guilt – seemingly. This does not bode well for his chances as a trial looms. “You have the right to remain silent” is not just a cliché.
Anyway, you can’t be dealing with a dumber bunch of people. Somehow, a mother, father and son allegedly got together and murdered a star rapper in broad day. Is simply doesn’t get much dumber than that. Or savage. Nobody thought, “Aye Mayne…maybe we shouldn’t do that.”
Anyway, he went private on Instagram, but didn’t bother to change his profile. So, let’s analyze the profile.
“Inglewood always up to no good – Blood on the streets Blood on the rocks Blood in the gutter Every last drop.”
He also had this logo as his profile picture. Thoughts?
Post Malone returned to the stage in Cleveland on Tuesday night despite his recent stage fall.
In a Twitter announcement, the “Circles” rapper told fans his gig in the Ohio city would go ahead as planned.
“Cleveland, I will be singing the f### outta some songs tonight…see y’all tonight,” he wrote hours before the concert at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse was set to begin.
The rapper’s return to his Twelve Carat Tour comes after he fell through an open trapdoor at a St. Louis concert earlier this month. He was later hospitalized with “stabbing pain” and had to cancel his gig in Boston.
After being discharged from the hospital, Post explained how the mishap occurred.
“The guitar’s on the guitar stand, and it goes down,” he tweeted. “And there’s this big a#######, so I go around there and I turn the corner and I bust my ass. Winded me pretty good; got me pretty good.”
DJ Drama will produce the soundtrack for the upcoming White Men Can’t Jump reboot.
Kenya Barris revealed DJ Drama’s involvement in an interview with Collider. Barris, who wrote and produced the reboot, said music will play an important role in the White Men Can’t Jump remake.
“DJ Drama’s doing our soundtrack for it,” Barris told Collider. “And we think that that’s going to be in the same way that we’re doing Above the Rim too, but the same way we want to really bring that back. I think music is emotion, and we want to bring back big music to movies and make you feel like that’s just as part of much of the movie as the movie itself.”
The new White Men Can’t Jump features the acting debut of Jack Harlow, who’s signed to DJ Drama’s label. Harlow stars alongside Sinqua Walls, who’s known for his roles in Friday Night Lights and Power.
Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes starred in the original White Men Can’t Jump, which was released in 1992. Ron Shelton wrote and directed the first film.
Calmatic directed the reboot with NBA veteran Blake Griffin serving as one of the executive producers. No release date has been announced for the remake.
Authorities apprehended a third suspect in the PnB Rock murder case on Thursday (September 29).
The Los Angeles Police Department announced a task force arrested Freddie Lee Trone in Las Vegas. The 40-year-old man was charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Earlier this week, Trone’s teenage son and wife were arrested in connection to PnB Rock’s murder.
The teen, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, was also charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Trone’s 38-year-old wife Shauntel was charged with accessory after the fact.
PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Allen, was fatally shot at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles on September 12. He was 30.
“The murder of Mr. Allen dimmed a bright light in the lives of his fans, friends and most importantly his family,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said. “The accused individuals’ alleged actions in this case were heartless and cruel and robbed the world of Mr. Allen’s talents.”
Gascón added, “I thank the investigators who presented the case to my office. As we do every single day, we will work diligently to make sure that those responsible for taking the life of an innocent victim are held accountable.”
Quavo and Takeoff made sure Raekwon was cool with the title of the duo’s upcoming albumOnly Built For Infinity Links.
The two reached out to Raekwon about their spin on the Wu-Tang Clan member’s classic album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Quavo recalled the conversation in an interview with TMZ.
“We most definitely hollered at Raekwon,” Quavo said. “It was all love. We gave him respect. We told him it’d be an honor, and we dropping this album called Only Built For Infinity Links. It’s inspired by y’all, so we just wanna let ‘em know we respect the OGs.”
Quavo added, “We most definitely love Wu-Tang. We got super love for Wu-Tang. But right now, this is what it’s about. Only Built For Infinity Links, the dynamic duo.”
The Migos member called Only Built For Infinity Links the “greatest album of all time” in his chat with TMZ. Quavo and Takeoff’s collaborative project is scheduled to drop on October 7.
Only Built For Infinity Links will be Quavo and Takeoff’s first album as a duo, fueling speculation about a split with Offset.
NBA YoungBoy, Young Thug, Gunna, Summer Walker, Gucci Mane, Birdman and DJ Mustard will appear on the LP.
Check out the tracklist for Quavo and Takeoff’s project below.
Boosie Badazz called for a boycott of Netflix’s Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a biographical series about the infamous serial killer.
The Netflix series faced backlash from critics who felt it was exploitative. Family members of Dahmer’s victims condemned the show for bringing back traumatic memories.
Boosie joined in the criticism on Twitter, expressing outrage over what Dahmer did to Black victims. The 39-year-old rapper was disturbed by the show’s content and wanted it removed from Netflix.
