Kevin Liles Steps Down As 300 Entertainment CEO Amid Warner Restructuring

Longtime music executive Kevin Liles stepped down as the CEO of Warner Music Group’s 300 Entertainment. Liles announced his departure from WMG in a staff memo on Tuesday (September 17).

“If there’s one consistent in music and culture, it’s that change is inevitable,” he wrote. “As committed servants of the culture, we know growing and empowering the next generation of leaders is a responsibility, and when the time is right, we pass the torch … At 300 we have two of the most talented, homegrown young leaders in the entire music industry, Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab. On this 10th anniversary of 300, it’s their turn to lead our 300 team into the next decade of excellence. At the end of this month, I’ll be stepping aside and departing WMG, although to ensure a successful transition, I’ll continue to consult with the team through the end of the year.”

Liles’ exit continued a string of major changes to WMG’s leadership. Atlantic Records CEO Julie Greenwald will leave at the end of January 2025. WMG’s CEO of Recorded Music Max Lousada will step down at the end of September.

WMG CEO Robert Kyncl said Liles’ tenure as 300 Ent. CEO officially ends on September 30. Liles planned to focus on helping Young Thug, who’s on trial for RICO charges, and campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I’m looking forward to my next chapter where I will continue to Listen, Learn, Lead, and Love,” Liles wrote. “Specifically, I will be continuing the fight to end the criminalization of Hip-Hop lyrics exemplified by the unjust prosecution of Jeffery Williams. And in the short term, I’ll be dedicating all my other time to making history by electing Kamala Harris as the first African-American female President, as well as holding the Senate and winning back the House to make Hakeem Jeffries the first African-American Speaker. This chapter may be closing, but always remember: #jobnotdone.”

Liles co-founded 300 Ent. with Lyor Cohen, Todd Moscowitz and Roger Gold. The label was acquired by WMG in 2021.

Congressional Black Caucus Is Important: Why Hip-Hop Should Care

Dr. Nola Haynes examines “From Vision to Victory,” from the Congressional Black Caucus’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference and what it says about the culture.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) plays a pivotal role in advocating for the rights and interests of African Americans and other marginalized communities in the United States. The CBC’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) serves as a vital platform to address critical issues affecting the Black community. This year, the theme “From Vision to Victory” underscores a commitment to transforming visionary ideas into tangible legislative outcomes. The conference agenda focuses on five key areas: racial equity, economic empowerment, climate justice, health disparities, and criminal justice reform. These areas have long been at the forefront of hip-hop and rap topics, in a way that resonates with the people.

How can the culture advance from to vison to victory?

Racial equity is at the forefront of the CBC’s agenda, emphasizing the need for policies that dismantle systemic racism and promote equality in all sectors. The legacy of racial inequity has manifested in various forms, including disparities in education, housing, and employment. The CBC seeks to create a framework that ensures fair treatment and access to opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their race. This aligns with the early Hip-Hop movement, which emerged as a voice for the voiceless, addressing issues of race and promoting empowerment through art and culture.

Economic empowerment is another critical agenda point for the CBC. Economic disparity continues to plague communities of color, stifling growth and opportunity. The CBC advocates for initiatives that support minority-owned businesses, equitable access to capital, and workforce development programs. Hip-Hop culture has long celebrated entrepreneurship, with many artists using their platforms to uplift their communities economically. By recalling this entrepreneurial spirit, Hip-Hop can inspire new generations to pursue economic independence while influencing policy changes that facilitate access to resources and funding.

Climate justice is increasingly becoming a focal point of social justice movements, and the CBC recognizes the disproportionate impact of climate change on Black communities. Environmental degradation often exacerbates existing inequalities, affecting health outcomes and economic viability. The CBC champions initiatives that address these disparities, promoting sustainable practices and policies that protect vulnerable communities. Hip-Hop has historically been a platform for environmental awareness, with artists using their influence to highlight climate issues. By revisiting these themes, Hip-Hop can galvanize support for climate justice (as does the Hip-Hop Caucus), encouraging collective action toward sustainable solutions.

Health disparities, particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, remain a pressing concern for the CBC. Access to quality healthcare, mental health services, and nutritious food is often limited in Black communities. The CBC advocates for policies that ensure equitable healthcare access and address the social determinants of health. Early Hip-Hop artists often spoke about the importance of community and health, using their music to raise awareness about the need for better resources. By leveraging this cultural heritage, Hip-Hop can play a crucial role in promoting health equity and mobilizing communities to advocate for systemic change.

Finally, criminal justice reform is a cornerstone of the CBC’s agenda. The movement against mass incarceration and police brutality has gained momentum, and the CBC is committed to enacting meaningful reforms that promote justice and accountability. Hip-Hop has always been intertwined with narratives of resistance against systemic oppression, making it a powerful vehicle for advocacy and change. By revisiting the foundational themes of social justice within Hip-Hop, artists can inspire action and support for policies that champion reform and equality.

The CBC’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference’s theme – “From Vision to Victory” – emphasizes the interconnectedness of racial equity, economic empowerment, climate justice, health disparities, and criminal justice reform. If Hip-Hop culture can truly recall its early vision of social justice and empowerment, it can effectively contribute to advancing these crucial issues, moving the needle toward policy victories. By harnessing the power of music and activism, hip-hop can continue to play a vital role in shaping a more equitable and just society, moving the vision to victory.

EXCLUSIVE: Diddy’s Legal Team Proposes $50M Bond, GPS Monitoring & More To Secure Release

Diddy’s legal team is pulling out all the stops in order to get the Bad Boy Records mogul out of jail. Diddy was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on Monday night (September 16) on multiple RICO charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking children by force, fraud or coercion and transporting for prostitution.

In a court document obtained by AllHipHop, Diddy’s lawyers propose a $50 million bond, secured equity in Diddy’s residence located at 2 West Star Island in Miami, the equity of Diddy’s mother’s Miami home, his passport, the family members’ passports and his private plane. They also suggest putting him on house arrest with GPS monitoring.

,

Diddy was indicted on Thursday (September 12). The indictment reads in part, “For decades, Sean Combs…abused, threatened & coerced women & others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation & conceal his conduct. To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources & the influence of his multi-faceted business empire. During raids of his residences in Miami and Los Angeles, authorities seized firearms and ammunition, including three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers, as well as a drum magazine.”

The indictment also mentions physical abuse several times, saying Diddy “engaged in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals. This abuse was, at times, verbal, emotional, physical and sexual.”

Diddy’s Bad Boy empire began to unravel in November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. Although they quickly settled out of court, a probe into Diddy’s lifestyle followed and a federal investigation ensued.

Federal agents executed search warrants at his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March and investigators interviewed several people in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms.

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo addressed the arrest in a statement to AllHipHop.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo said. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.

“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Feds Going After Diddy’s Fortune In Attempt To Seize His Assets

Federal prosecutors are pushing to confiscate profits made by Sean “Diddy” Combs, claiming his billion-dollar empire was partially constructed through a criminal network involving sex trafficking, forced labor and violence.

Officials aim to seize assets linked to Diddy’s vast business landscape, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises and Combs Global.

The indictment spells out the government’s plan to remove any acquisitions and earnings tied to his alleged illicit operations, touching every facet of his music, media and lifestyle brands.

The allegations against Diddy are staggering, outlining an organized scheme of abuse, coercion and physical brutality.

Prosecutors assert that he led a sprawling network trafficking women across state boundaries for commercial sex, using threats and violence to manipulate them into performing sexually explicit acts.

The claims indicate that Diddy’s alleged violent behavior was not only for his satisfaction but also a method to uphold his public image and empire.

Beyond Diddy’s entertainment ventures, the government has secured multiple items from his homes in Miami and Los Angeles as evidence, including firearms and narcotics, enhancing their case of racketeering and criminal activity.

Seized items included three AR-15 rifles with altered serial numbers, ammunition and materials linked to infamous “Freak Offs”—secretive sexual gatherings orchestrated by Diddy, according to the indictment.

The detailed document also accuses Diddy and his associates of employing intimidation, economic manipulation and threats to suppress victims and deter witness testimonies.

The asset forfeiture strategy shows how serious the government’s commitment is to disassembling the monetary foundation of Diddy’s conglomerate, arguing that it grew through exploiting vulnerable individuals.

Diddy’s Massive Stash Of Baby Oil & Lubricant Exposed After RICO Arrest

In the latest chapter of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ever-evolving legal drama, the music mogul now finds himself at the center of a very different narrative—one that trades the glitz of Bad Boy Records for the grime of racketeering charges.

Federal authorities have hit Diddy with a RICO indictment, alleging years of abuse, coercion and sex trafficking. But amid the laundry list of crimes—kidnapping, bribery and even arson—one detail shines (literally) brighter than the rest: baby oil.

More than 1,000 bottles of the slippery substance were found during a search of his Miami and Los Angeles residences.

According to the indictment, “Freak Offs”—a term Diddy used for his lavish, drug-fueled sex parties—required meticulous preparation.

In addition to controlled substances, hotel rooms had to be stocked with baby oil, lubricant, extra linens and special lighting. These parties were apparently no small production—running for days and involving male commercial sex workers flown in at Diddy’s behest.

Guests left exhausted, often needing IV drips to recover—and the baby oil? Well, that was a party essential. The charges are as grim as they come and have raised more than a few eyebrows.

Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo, released a statement to AllHipHop claiming his client was being unfairly targeted.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo stated. “Mr. Combs is not a criminal. He voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Social media is already alight with memes, turning what might be the messiest chapter in Diddy’s legacy into a slippery situation.

Diddy Hit With Multiple RICO Charges Including Trafficking Of Children

Sean “Diddy” Combs was reportedly indicted on Thursday (September 12) on multiple RICO charges. According to the indictment obtained by AllHipHop, the Bad Boy Records mogul was hit with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking of children by force, fraud or coercion and transporting for prostitution.

The indictment reads in part, “For decades, Sean Combs…abused, threatened & coerced women & others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation & conceal his conduct. To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources & the influence of his multi-faceted business empire.”

It continued, “During raids of his residences in Miami and Los Angeles, authorities seized firearms and ammunition, including three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers, as well as a drum magazine.”

The indictment also mentions physical abuse several times, saying Diddy “engaged in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals. This abuse was, at times, verbal, emotional, physical and sexual.”

Diddy was arrested in Manhattan on Monday (September 16) following the grand jury indictment. His empire began to unravel in November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse.

Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

This is a developing story.

Pharrell Williams Urges Fellow Celebs To “Shut Up” About Political Endorsements

Pharrell Williams wishes celebrities would “shut up” and stop endorsing political candidates amid the upcoming elections in November.

The multi-hyphenate producer vented his frustrations over his fellow celebs airing their political stances during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter

“I don’t do politics,” Williams explained. “In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for].

Pop icon Taylor Swift was headline news after joining the celebrities endorsing Kamala Harris. Multiple rappers have announced their support for the Vice President or her political rival, Donald Trump. However, Pharrell Williams believes some of his peers should keep their opinions to themselves.

“There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion,” he added. “But not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.’ When people get out there and get self-righteous and they roll up their sleeves and s###, and they are out there walking around with a placard: ‘Shut up!’ So, no, I would rather stay out of the way.”

Nonetheless, Pharrell Williams intends to vote but values action over public support.

“Obviously, I’m going to vote how I’m going to vote,” he continued. “I care about my people and I care about the country, but I feel there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and I’m really about the action.”

In line with his focus on “action,” Pharrell Williams recently hinted at upcoming changes at Louis Vuitton after being heckled by a PETA activist protesting his role as the brand’s men’s creative director.

“Rome wasn’t made in a day,” he stated. “And sometimes, when you have plans to change things and situations, you have to get in a situation of power and of influence where you can change people’s minds and help progression.”

Cardi B Hits Back At Critics Over Postpartum Gym Workouts

Cardi B is defending her decision to start working out less than ten days after welcoming her daughter, explaining that exercise helps her combat postpartum depression.

Earlier this week, the Grammy Award winner shared clips of her workouts, including several of her putting in work on the stair master.

The video caused some controversy online, with one user stating, “It’s barely been a week. Yoh, the pressure women in the industry are under? Insane.”

Cardi B responded to the criticism, calling out the “fake” concern and explaining that her third pregnancy was unlike her first two.

“This is my third baby and postpartum is a little different from my first two,” she began. “I’m not doing heaving lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that… just cardio. Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression you gotta keep your mind busy and for me that’s work and staying active.”

Cardi B Slams Body Shamers

She continued addressing the body shamers who talked about her weight gain before she announced her pregnancy.

“But you know what’s funny??” she added. “Y’all dragged me down when I gained 15 pounds because I was 5 months pregnant but now yall fake concerned and wanna talk about pressure??? Y’all said I was pregnant to avoid working now that you see I’m still at it it’s something else?? So yeah I’m  taking this personal but its FOR ME because either way y’all are gonna have something to say.”

When the fan said their criticism was over “society’s expectations of women and ‘snap back’ culture,” Cardi B agreed.

“Totally babe!!” she said. “I just was never the type to care about snap back after birth. I don’t know what it is about this time around but I have this burst of energy where I want to do EVERYTHING… It’s like I want to complete all my goals in one day.”

One goal Cardi B has in mind is her highly anticipated sophomore album. “Now is crunch time on my kids,” she tweeted alongside a CD emoji.

JAY-Z has continually credited his philanthropist mother for instilling the hard work ethic that inspired him to follow his dreams of becoming a rapper. He opened up about how instrumental his mother was during an interview with Oprah in 2009.

“She worked two jobs and did whatever she had to do for us,” JAY-Z explained. “My mom always taught me — you know, little boys listen to their moms too much — that whatever you put into something is what you’re going to get out of it.”

He added, “I had to fully let go of what I was doing before for the music to be successful. That was a leap of faith for me. I said, ‘I have to give this everything.'”

Hillary Clinton Slams Elon Musk Over “Rotten & Creepy” Taylor Swift Remarks

Hillary Clinton is calling out Elon Musk for making “rotten and creepy” remarks about Taylor Swift, describing it as “another way of saying rape.”

Last week, the pop icon endorsed Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, ahead of the November presidential election. Elon Musk responded, “Fine Taylor you win I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”

Hillary Clinton addresses Elon Musk’s remarks around the 23 minute mark. Listen to the podcast below.

Social media users widely condemned his sexist remarks, and now Hillary Clinton has weighed in.

“[Trump] had his alter-ego, Elon Musk, say something really rotten and creepy about her,” Clinton said during an appearance on Kara Swisher’s podcast. She argued that Musk saying he would “impregnate her” was “kind of another way of saying rape.”

Clinton added, “When I see Trump, or I see him, this whole cast of MAGA characters, and especially the so-called masters of the universe in the technology world… misogyny is such a part of their worldview, and they gravitate toward toughness and brutality and machoism. And you know, here’s Taylor Swift, a self-made billionaire who brings joy to people and who imparts life lessons, particularly to girls and women… They can’t stand it.”

In her endorsement, Swift called Harris a “gifted leader,” insisting she would  lead the country with “calm and not chaos.” She also mentioned Trump using AI images of her “falsely endorsing” him. “It really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” she explained. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Trump responded via his Truth Social platform, writing, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Kodak Black Reacts To Donald Trump’s Claims Haitian Immigrants Are Eating Cats

Kodak Black is planning a trip to investigate the conspiracy theories coming out of the Donald Trump presidential campaign about Haitian migrants in Springfield eating cats and dogs.

Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, spread the bizarre and unfounded theory repeated by the former President in his debate against Kamala Harris.

During a recent concert, Kodak Black, a Haitian and a vocal Trump supporter, expressed concern over the rumors. He played an excerpt from Trump’s speech at a recent rally in Nevada.

“Of course I’m angry. We got 21 million people that came into our country invading our communities, invading our cities and our towns, and destroying our country,” Donald Trump ranted. “I’m angry about Venezuelan gangs taking over Aurora, Colorado, and I’m angry about illegal Haitian migrants taking over Springfield, Ohio. You see that mess, don’t you?”

Kodak Black Doubles Down On Donald Trump Support

Kodak Black addressed the crowd, doubling down on his support for Donald Trump. However, he also questioned the stories about Haitians eating cats.

“That s### crazy,” he began. “That s### true? Man I ain’t gon’ lie homie. I’m a muthafuckin Trump supporter.” The crowd booed loudly at his endorsement, but Black continued.

I’m Haitian,” he asserted. “How y’all feel about this election s###? I feel like we f##### anyway. I ain’t with that Kamala Harris s### either.”

He questioned, “What the f### going on in America?” before announcing his intention to get to the bottom of the conspiracy theories.

“I’m finna go to Springfield tomorrow, I’m going over there,” he added. “I gotta see this s###. .. I aint’ smelling that.” He repeated his calls to “vote for Trump” amid crowd jeers but questioned the lack of evidence for the claims.

“I ain’t see no Haitian eat no cat homie,” he said. “When y’all show me a Haitian eating a cat, then y’all can say that s###.”

Donald Trump pardoned Kodak Black as one of his final acts as President in 2020. Black has been a staunch supporter ever since and recently joined forces with Fivio Foreign on a pro-Trump track featuring the 34-times convicted felon.

Remy Ma Reveals Prison Was “Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Me”

Remy Ma is reflecting on her time in prison, revealing just how tough it was for her to miss out on her twenties behind bars.

In 2008, the Terror Squad member was sentenced to eight years for shooting and wounding a friend amid a dispute over missing money. She was released in 2014 after serving six years.

Remy Ma opened up about her time in prison during an appearance on the latest episode of Nick Cannon’s “We Playin’ Spades.” According to the “Ghetto & Ratchet” hitmaker, getting locked up is the one thing she would take back.

“Bro I’m not going to prison ever,” Remy Ma replied when asked about anything in her life that she would change. Before serving her sentence, the worst thing she had experienced was getting cut in the face.

“I was like this the worst thing that’s ever happened to me,” she added. “And then there was the penitentiary. I was like, ‘Oh this s### not cool.’ It was the worst thing that I’ve ever endured in my life ever.”

Remy Ma Explains Why She Doesn’t Discuss Her Time In Prison

Nicki Cannon mentioned that Remy Ma gained respect from supporters on the outside who praised her for staying “10 toes down” while in prison.

“Well, that’s because nobody really knows what happened. I’ve never talked about it, ever,” she explained. “Because I’m not supposed to. Like, that’s just how I grew up, even though a lot of ways that I feel like they taught us in the hood was like ass backwards. It’s not real life. But I feel like a lot of people don’t know, like what really happened.”

She continued, “I felt like once I came home, I already was in jail. What am I going to talk about? I can’t change it, it already happened. Now f### everybody. I don’t care, whatever y’all want to think.”

Nicki Cannon urged Remy Ma to write a book shedding light on her prison time. However, it’s not likely to happen.

“That’s a part of the reason, too, why I probably am leery about a book,” she added. “Because I feel like it’s certain things that I would have to say to make it authentic, or there’s certain things that I have to leave out.”

Some Questions About The Diddy Indictment…

IT’S GOING DOWN: DIDDY HIT WITH MASSIVE INDICTMENT!

Ayo, the streets are buzzing right now because yesterday Sean “Diddy” Combs got bagged, and today, a 14-page indictment just dropped like a bomb! We’re talking some serious legal heat—charges of running a full-blown criminal enterprise. And it’s not just your average legal smoke; this man is getting hit with accusations of abuse, violence, coercion, arson, and more. If you missed the full breakdown, make sure you tap into AllHipHop New to catch up on the nitty-gritty from a journalistic and legal perspective.

READ ALSO: Diddy Hit With Multiple RICO Charges Including Trafficking Of Children

But let’s talk about these rumors flying around. First and foremost, they’re saying Diddy was running a whole criminal operation, but here’s the weird part—he’s the ONLY one being charged right now. Isn’t that strange? We’ve been keeping our ears to the ground, looking to see if any other names are being tossed into the fire, but so far, nothing. Zilch. Nobody else has been named as a defendant in this RICO case. If you ask me, that’s a little suspect, especially for something they’re calling a “criminal enterprise.” Where’s the rest of the crew?

Now, let’s dive into the indictment itself. There are some women named, and some of them are kept under wraps (for now). But here’s the real deal: there’s a lot of speculation that folks could be cooperating with the feds. Now, I am nobody’s lawyer, but it feels like the authorities might be holding back, waiting to reveal who’s snitching and who’s not. Diddy may be locked up, but don’t get it twisted—he’s still got power. Financially, and in the streets. So if someone’s talking, the authorities might be playing it safe, keeping names hidden until it’s time to drop the real hammer. I have to admit this hammer is pretty big.

I know one person that HAS TO BE a witness: Big Gene Deal, the former bodyguard.

And then there’s the money! They’re gunning for Diddy’s pockets, claiming he built his empire through this so-called criminal enterprise. But let’s be real—Diddy has legit money too. He’s got businesses that made him filthy rich, especially with his ventures in the liquor game. So yeah, they’re coming for his assets, but I’m thinking it won’t be as easy as it seems. It may not be cool to admit, but Diddy definitely has legit legal paper.

Still, no question—he’s in deep. The authorities are playing for keeps, and it looks like they want to bleed him dry. The question now is: how much of Diddy’s world is gonna get rocked before this is over? Suddenly, his old album title takes on new meaning:

Stay tuned because this story is far from done.

Ralo Explains Why He Won’t “Pick A Side” In Longstanding YFN Lucci & Young Thug Feud

Ralo isn’t backing down when it comes to his support for both YFN Lucci and Young Thug, amid the alignment of the rapper’s incarceration.

In an Instagram post he shared on Monday (September 16), Ralo addressed the hate he has received, seemingly from Young Thug supporters, when expressing his support for YFN Lucci on social media. However, rather than get into the specifics of why he’s committed to holding both of his “brothers” down while they’re behind bars, Ralo went into depth detailing why he wants fans to cease with their “division” tactics. In doing so, he authored a profound message highlighting the growing power struggle between Hip-Hop artists commoditizing their intellectual property legally while oftentimes being investigated by government organizations for alleged criminal activity.

“Why everything I post #FreeLucci ah cornball axx nicca always in my comments telling me to pick sides,” Ralo wrote in part in the post. “We need to be trying to unite our men instead of adding more division. The government seeking to take down every empire we build and use our record labels or tribes to call us Gangs.”

Ralo then broke down how his own experience fighting a federal case amid his rise as a mainstream rapper. And it appears as though the main point he was attempting to make was the idea that he had been under the microscope for far longer than even he himself may have known. Despite the fact he was arrested the same year that his viral “Ahk Sh#t Pop Sh#t” single, in which he raps “12 can’t stop s##t” popped off.

“I wasn’t arrested until April 2018, but been under investigation for over 15 years,” he wrote. “My case was never about weed they just used that sht to and put me away and I ain’t the only one they trying to do that to. I said all that to say I ain’t turning no brothers against each other nor am I selling dope. I do distro promo and rap… #FreeThug #FreeLucci @grassvalleydistrictla.”

YFN Lucci accepted a plea deal in his Georgia RICO case earlier this year in January 23. He pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act after Georgia prosecutors dropped 12 of the 13 counts against him from a 2021 RICO indictment. While Thug has not been as fortunate in his ongoing YSL RICO trial, he did catch a break when Lucci refused to testify against him last year.

Diddy Arrested In New York Following Indictment—Attorney Calls It “Unjust”

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in Manhattan on Monday (September 16) following a grand jury indictment, although the official charges have yet to be divulged. The ball started rolling in November 2023, when ex Cassie Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records mogul accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. A probe into Diddy’s lifestyle followed and a federal investigation ensued.

Following Ventura’s initial lawsuit, Diddy was hit with at least eight more civil lawsuits alleging abuse.

The most recent lawsuit against him came from former Bad Boy artist Dawn Richard, who filed a complaint last week in Manhattan federal court. Richard claims she witnessed Diddy abuse Ventura on multiple occasions and that recent lawsuits encouraged her to come forward.

“As more women courageously come forward, plaintiff has been empowered by this collective strength and now adds her voice to the growing chorus of victims bravely sharing their harrowing stories,” lawyers for Richard wrote.  “Together, they seek justice and stand in solidarity, as the latest victims of the #Me Too movement in the music industry.”

Kaleena Harper, who was once in the trio Dirty Money alongside Diddy and Richard, issued a statement to her Instagram Story in the wake of the lawsuit.

“I acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard in which my name has been mentioned 33 times,” Harper began. “While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved.

“It’s important to understand that while I was present in some of the same professional settings mentioned, many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth.”

Another one of Diddy’s attorneys, Erica Wolf, dismissed it (once again) as an attempt to extort money from him.

“Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit,” Wolff said. “In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a payday — conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour.

“If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience with Making the Band and Danity Kane, she would not have chosen to continue working directly with Mr. Combs for Dirty Money, nor would she have returned for the Making the Band reboot in 2020 or agreed to be featured on The Love Album last year. It’s unfortunate that Ms. Richard has cast their 20-year friendship aside to try and get money from him, but Mr. Combs is confidently standing on truth and looks forward to proving that in court.”

Tyler, The Creator’s Timothée Chalamet Lyrics Manifest His First Movie Role

Tyler, the Creator will make his feature film debut in an A24-produced movie directed by Uncut Gems filmmaker Josh Safdie. Tyler was cast alongside Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow in Marty Supreme, a film inspired by ping pong player Marty Reisman.

Six years ago, Tyler shouted out Chalamet on the song “Okra.”

“Tell Tim Chalamet to come get at me,” Tyler rapped.

Chalamet reacted to getting name-dropped by reposting a fan’s meme on social media.

Most information about Marty Supreme has been kept under wraps, per Deadline. Tyler’s character in the film hasn’t been revealed.

Marty Supreme marks Tyler’s first role in a feature film, but the acclaimed rapper/producer isn’t a newcomer to acting. Tyler starred in Loiter Squad and The Jellies, two television series he co-created for Adult Swim. Tyler’s other TV credits include the Showtime series Kidding and Netflix’s animated show Big Mouth.

Tyler’s movie role was announced a month after he apologized for past comments about Eminem’s Recovery album. The Odd Future member publicly criticized Eminem’s album years ago, resulting in Eminem’s controversial diss track “Fall.” Tyler regretted bashing Recovery after watching the Netflix series Painkiller.

“After watching that show, that gave me perspective,” he told Maverick Carter in August. “This was a few months ago. And I felt so terrible about some of the things I said about that Recovery album because I realized that was a big step and meant a lot to him and my f###### stupid ass is like, ‘I wanna hear the same song and dance and I loved The Eminem Show. But he’s not there anymore. I felt terrible.”

Tyler said he learned how to rap by studying Eminem, recalling how Slim Shady’s lyricism and storytelling influenced the 33-year-old artist. Tyler wanted to apologize to Eminem in person if they ever crossed paths.

Damon Dash Says Drake Wanted To Buy Roc-A-Fella Shares While Speaking On Super Bowl Saga

Damon Dash appears to be stirring the pot pertaining to the beef between JAY-Z, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

During his recent interview as a part of an exclusive American Nu broadcast, Damon Dash spilled details on a potential power play by none other than Drizzy in response to Hov recruiting Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl Halftime show. According to Dash, the Canadian rapper attempted to purchase his one-third share in Roc-A-Fella Records.

“Drake hollered at me through DM and made an offer,” Dash said. “I’m not quite sure what happened, but I thought that he had got with Jay or something, but I don’t know.”

While discussing the matter, Dash made it clear that he found the timing of the offer particularly intriguing, especially given Kendrick Lamar’s rise to prominence, culminating in his headlining performance after emerging victorious in a high-profile rap beef with Drake. However, it should go without saying that Dash isn’t going to let an opportunity to hustle go to waste, which is likely part of the reason why he went on to bait Drake into following through with the purchase in order to carry out a plan.

“There’s never been a battle rap where the record becomes a hit, puts another artist in a very uncomfortable position, pause, and then they get to perform it at the Super Bowl,” he stated in part. “That’s ill. And I’m thinking, what would I do if I was Drake? And I’d be like, well, a Big W would be to come to the Super Bowl with one of these Roc-A-Fella chains.”

As Dash continued to stoke the flames of tension between JAY-Z and Drake, he threw in a cautionary note, suggesting that Drizzy’s offer may end up being far more lucrative than the bragging rights he get from owning the stakes and the hardware to match.

“But if you got it, I wouldn’t do it if you don’t got it.,” he said. “But if you want to own ‘Reasonable Doubt’… if we want to own a third of it, have a say at the board meeting for at least the next seven years and make money off of it, I would get these chains.”

In typical Damon Dash fashion, he wasn’t just thinking about cold hard cash but about the legacy. He teased that if a deal did go through, it wouldn’t just come with a Roc-A-Fella chain but also a pair of grillz. Last month, a New York judge delayed the auction for Dame Dash’s stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. The auction stemmed from Dash losing a lawsuit to director Josh Webber, resulting in a roughly $800,000 judgment. Following the August ruling from the judge, all parties have agreed to set a new minimum bid of $3 million for the stake.

Nicki Minaj Reacts To Proof JAY-Z Has Final Say In Super Bowl Headliner

Nicki Minaj couldn’t resist commenting on Super Bowl Halftime Show producer Jesse Collins confirming Jay-Z picks the event’s headliner on Monday (September 16). The leader of the Barbz posted a laughing emoji on social media in reaction to Collins’ interview with Variety.

“It’s a decision that Jay makes,” Collins told Variety. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!”

Minaj vociferously criticized Jay-Z after the NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music announced Kendrick Lamar would headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Minaj accused Jay-Z of not picking Lil Wayne due to grudges against her, Birdman and Drake. She fully blamed Jay-Z while others suggested the NFL or the host city chose the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer.

“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” Minaj wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. S### sad. House N##### TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty? Welp. then n##### will keep son’ing you!!!!!”

Lil Wayne was widely speculated to be the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show’s headliner since the game’s in his hometown of New Orleans. The Young Money boss admitted he desperately wanted the gig.

“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position,” he said. “Like somebody told me that was my position. But I thought there was nothing better than that. That stage and that platform in my city. So that hurt. It hurt a whole lot.”

Minaj claimed Lil Wayne was “used in a war of egos.” She tried to encourage him by saying his impact on Hip-Hop culture would stand the test of time.
