Magic Johnson Becomes Fourth Billionaire Athlete

Earvin “Magic” Johnson became a household name as a member of the “Showtime” Los Angeles Lakers teams of the 1980s/early 1990s. The former Michigan State University player also built a financial empire.

According to Forbes, Magic Johnson has reached billionaire status. The 106-year-old business publication listed the 5-time NBA champion as just the fourth professional athlete to attain a $1 billion net worth.

Johnson ($1.2 billion) joined fellow NBA legends Michael Jordan ($3 billion) and LeBron James ($1 billion) as well as golfer Tiger Woods ($1.1 billion) on the current list of billionaire sports figures.

Earlier this year, Magic Johnson partnered with billionaire Josh Harris and others to purchase the NFL’s Washington Commanders franchise. He also owns stakes in the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, the MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers and the MLS’ LAFC.

“There’s no higher sports league than the NFL, and it’s been hard for us to get into the league,” Johnson said about African Americans acquiring NFL ownership. He added, “It’s important because now all African-Americans and minorities in this country feel like they’re owners of this team, too.”

In addition, Magic Johnson launched movie theaters across the United States. His portfolio also includes a 50/50 venture with Starbucks and a 60% stake in Iowa-based life insurance company EquiTrust.

In February, Forbes named Aliko Dangote as the richest Black person in the world. The Nigerian businessman is said to be worth around $10.5 billion. The net worth of American Robert F. Smith presently sits at $9.2 billion.

Black entertainment heavyweights like Oprah Winfrey ($2.8 billion), Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter ($2.5 billion), Rihanna ($1.4 billion) and Tyler Perry ($1 billion) also made it into the billionaire club. As of press time, SpaceX founder/X owner Elon Musk ($221.9 billion) holds the distinction of being the world’s richest person.

Kodak Black Blasts Big Boi & T.I. Over Record Label Conspiracy Theory

Kodak Black is perhaps the most-talked-about rapper at the moment but not because of his music. The “Tunnel Vision” rhymer went on a rampage against the rap industry during a recent interview.

While appearing on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs podcast, Kodak Black took aim at Atlanta-based rap stars 21 Savage and Latto. He also blasted Atlanta Hip-Hop legends T.I. and Big Boi.

N.O.R.E asked Kodak to choose between OutKast and fellow southern rap duo UGK. The 26-year-old Florida native took that as an opportunity to throw direct shots at one-half of Kast.

“Exclude Big Boi’s ass, though,” Kodak Black said. “Exclude him. That f### n#### tried to get me kicked off the label. He tried to get me kicked off Atlantic. Him and T.I.’s b####-ass.”

Kodak also added, “I ain’t gonna lie, when I was a young n####, I used to always say like how T.I. looked on the ATL movie and s###. I used to always say Big Boi looks like T.I. Like, a little bit of T.I., then you get the C-Murder and s###.”

Both T.I. and Big Boi starred in the 2006 cult classic ATL. The cast of that Chris Robinson-directed motion picture also included Evan Ross, Lauren London, Jackie Long, Jason Weaver, Albert Daniels, Monica, Bone Crusher, and Killer Mike.

As social media users shared clips of Kodak Black’s sitdown with Drink Champs, some of his fans expressed being worried about the Pistolz & Pearlz album creator. Even R&B singer/reality television veteran Ray J voiced concern. However, Kodak responded by calling Ray J a “b####.”

YBN Nahmir Announces He’s Going To Rehab

Nicholas “YBN Nahmir” Simmons scored a Platinum plaque for his 2017 single “Rubbin Off the Paint.” That early success in the music business seemed like the then-teenager was set to be a big breakout Hip-Hop star.

However, YBN Nahmir’s career has cooled down over the last several years. The 23-year-old rapper has been relatively quiet when it comes to new tracks. It turns out there could be a reason for the low output.

Simmons took to the X platform on October 29 to share some personal information. He posted, “Rehab soon. Understanding your addiction & admitting to it is the 1st step. Pray for me on this hard journey.”

As some of his fans showed support for his decision to enter rehabilitation, YBN Nahmir thanked his followers on the social media platform. Last year, he admitted to having a drinking problem.

https://twitter.com/YBNNahmir/status/1718787876044087354

“I feel like it’s best for me to just get this out my system. For 3 years I’ve been struggling with an alcoholic addiction. I’ve changed so much due to it, & not in the right ways. I’ve pushed so many of my [loved] ones away & the people I care about because of it,” tweeted Nahmir in March 2022.

YBN Nahmir rose to prominence as part of the YBN collective along with YBN Almighty Jay, YBN Cordae and others. Cordae dropped the YBN from his stage name and parted ways from the group in 2020. Then Almighty Jay publicly clashed with Nahmir in 2021.

In addition to earning a Recording Industry Association of America plaque for “Rubbin Off the Paint,” YBN Nahmir also went double-platinum with “Bounce Out with That.” 2019’s “Opp Stoppa” scored a Platinum Award as well.

Namir released his Visionland album in 2021 via Atlantic Records. That project included contributions by Ty Dolla $ign, G Herbo, 21 Savage, G-Eazy, Offset, E-40, Too $hort, and more. This year saw Nahmir release “Get Her Back!” featuring IMNOTDEVY. He also made an appearance on “West Coast” by G-Consta.

21 Savage Speaks Out About Kodak Black Claiming He Switched Up After Collaborating With Drake [AUDIO]

21 Savage and Kodak Black are in the middle of a back-and-forth online. The two southern rappers became trending topics on social media over the weekend.

Apparently, Kodak Black feels 21 Savage somehow changed after working with Drake to create their joint 2022 project Her Loss. The South Florida native expressed his thoughts on the situation while appearing on the Drink Champs podcast.

“Drake just got a certain little effect that he do to m############ and s###,” Kodak stated. “After the album they did together, all of a sudden, m############ felt like… on that p####-ass s###. You vocalize it for real on the ‘Gram, on the internet, like you ain’t never vibe with me and s###.”

A clip of Kodak Black’s comments spread across the internet. 21 Savage decided to respond to Kodak on the X platform. The Atlanta-based rap star simply posted over 40 blue cap emojis, signifying he believes what Kodak said was untrue.

21 Savage Suggests Kodak Black Is In His Feelings Over Freshman Class Comments

In addition, Savage addressed Kodak Black during an Instagram Live session. In the video, the Grammy winner implies he was never that close to Kodak and suggests the beef is really over something he said about the 2016 XXL Freshman Class.

‘First of all, what’s supposed to [have] changed? I ain’t grow up with you, n####. I don’t know you,” responded 21 Savage. “You rap, I rap. I always supported you and s### ’cause I f##### with your movement, I f##### with what you had going on.”

He continued, “You’re talking about I switched up. You in your feelings ’cause I’m on Clubhouse and they asked me – I can’t believe I’m even doing this weak-ass s### on m############ Live. I’m on Clubhouse. They asked me who I feel like who could win in a Verzuz from the Freshman Class. You’re the only n#### to get in your feelings.”

21 Savage went on to point out that Kodak Black mentioned that he would never do an album with Drake because the Canadian superstar collaborated with Savage. The “Rich Flex” performer also added, “What [does] that sound like to y’all? That sound like I switched up? Or [does] that sound like a n#### in their feelings?”

U.K. Grime Legends Wiley, Dizzee Rascal Epic Onstage Reunion Ends Decades-Long Beef

U.K. Grime pioneers Wiley and Dizzee Rascal ended their bitter 20-year feud in epic fashion this weekend.

On Saturday night, Dizzee Rascal had fans in a frenzy at his Dubai concert, surprising the crowd with a guest appearance from his longtime nemesis, Wiley.

The former friends and collaborators have engaged in a bitter feud that has been called the U.K. version of the Jay-Z/Nas beef. However, while Hov and Nas eventually settled their differences, the East London grime godfathers never mended their bridges.

Dizzee was originally part of Wiley’s Roll Deep crew, and both were pivotal figures in London’s burgeoning grime scene. However, the pair fell out in the Summer of 2003, with Dizzee refusing to speak to Wiley after a violent altercation with a rival crew, which resulted in him getting stabbed. According to Wiley, Dizzee Rascal blamed him for the brawl and never spoke to him again.

However, on Saturday night (October 28), Wiley and Dizzee Rascal finally put their issues behind them. The duo appeared onstage together at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, causing U.K. Grime fans to lose their minds. The “Dance Wiv Me” hitmaker shared a video of the moment his former foe joined him onstage. He posted the clip on X, captioned with the shaking hands emoji. Watch the epic moment below.

“You lot don’t understand,” he wrote on X. “These two MET in my bedroom. It’s been literally 20 years since they spoke and now this. YES!!”

Meanwhile, Wiley reflected on reuniting with Dizzee Rascal. “Time is the only healer I know,” he shared. “I say this cos I used to think money was a healer but it’s not.”

Halle Bailey, DDG Recreate Classic “Poetic Justice” Moment Dressed  For Halloween

Halle Bailey and her boyfriend DDG went to Kendal Jenner’s star-studded Halloween bash dressed as Janet Jackson and Tupac in Poetic Justice.

The young couple donned replica looks from the 1993 movie, with Halle wearing a matching black beret, shirt and jeans. She also covered her long locs with braids and did her makeup, just like Janet’s Justice. DDG dressed as Tupac’s character Lucky, wearing an Atlanta Braves jersey and backwards baseball cap.

She took to Instagram to share a photo album of images of the pair dressed as ‘Pac and Janet. While her recent appearances led to pregnancy rumors, with Halle covering her stomach in every photo, she did not hide her belly in these shots. Check them out below.

“I think the best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else,” she explained. “And you’re discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn’t notice before about your heart.”

DDG revealed the pair bonded over 50 Cent’s “Many Men” after he slid in her DMs and said he sees them getting married in the future.

“I’ve never been with nobody that’s like really motivated me like she do,” he said during an appearance on The Breakfast Club last November. “I’m seeing different s###. I ain’t really been around this type of s### before.”

Latto Shares Raunchy Lingerie Photo With Her Man For Approval Before Posting

Latto isn’t taking any chances when it comes to her man disapproving of any potential social media posts.

The “Lottery” hitmaker recently appeared in a sexy lingerie shoot in her role as ambassador for Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty line.

However, her post ruffled some feathers, with one fan calling her out for posting pics that should be for her man’s eyes only.

“Y’all can call me lame but only one person suppose to be seeing these,” the fan wrote.

In response, Latto shared a screenshot of her sending the image to “Boo Daddyyyy” for approval.

“Too much for my savage fenty post?” she asked. Latto’s man evidently disagreed with the disgruntled commenter. “No you look good,” he replied, adding a trio of heart eyes emojis.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg gave Latto some advice on handling the haters in a recent Rolling Stone feature.

“Once you hit a new level, it just be “new level, new devils,” the Atlanta rapper told the West Coast legend.

“If you’re doing what you’re supposed to do, n##### supposed to hate,” Snoop replied. “Let the hate s### inspire you to do great. And then at the same time, the only way you could beat hate is with love. You can’t match they energy and try to [hate them back].”

Blueface Calls Cap On Chrisean Rock’s Claims He’s Still Pursuing Her

Chrisean Rock claims she’s staying strong and shunning Blueface’s advances, but he says his ex is lying and trying to set him up.  Despite his recent engagement to the mother of his eldest children, Jaidyn Alexis, the “Baddies South” star insists Blue is still trying to get with her.

After news broke, Chrisean Rock claimed his proposal was a “publicity stunt” before leaking a recorded phone call between her and Blueface.

Then on Sunday (October 29), the reality TV starlet took to Twitter (X), claiming she has distanced herself from the father of her newborn son, even though he’s still reaching out to her.

“I really hadda take a step back because still giving a part of me to him is f##### up to my son,” she began. “How I let a n###a that don’t want to be a father to my only son still nut in me.”

She also claimed Blueface “tested me today n I almost fell for da s###,” but says looking at her son made her realize she should “cut the [immature] selfish s### out.”

Kodak Black Slams Ray J’s Plea To Get Help But Fans Concerned Rapper Snorting Drugs In Video

Kodak Black was not impressed that Ray J reached out to him via social media voicing concern for his health, but his response video only raised more fears from fans worried he is using drugs.

Clips of the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker’s appearance on the latest episode of Drink Champs have gone viral, with the rapper appearing out of it throughout the show. Many fans voiced fears for his health, including Ray J, who said Kodak Black needs help and claimed “he did the most” during a meeting with Donald Trump.

Ray J also urged Wack 100 to act, writing, “let’s figure out how we can help this guy instead of watching him self destruct.”

Kodak Black caught wind of his remarks and slammed the singer-turned-tech entrepreneur on Instagram, claiming Ray J wants to go viral.

In the video, Kodak Black insisted he doesn’t need help, calling Ray J a “b####” and threatening to “beat your little ass.” He also dismissed the suggestion Ray-J had anything to do with the Trump meeting branding him a “Boosie ass n####.” Watch the video below.

Drake, RTJ, Macklemore Among Celebs Urging Biden For Ceasefire In Israel-Gaza War

The situation in the Middle East continues to grow uglier by the minute—and now, the entertainment industry is taking a stand. As of Sunday (October 29), more than 5,000 lives have been lost in the Israel-Gaza conflict. The carnage began on October 7 when the Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel. Now, dozens of artists, actors, producers and other celebrities are begging President Joe Biden to call a ceasefire. A new website, simply labeled Artists 4 Ceasefire, recently went up and encourages Biden to act immediately.

An accompanying letter reads in part, “We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine. We ask that, as President of the United States, you and the US Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the last week and a half – a number any person of conscience knows is catastrophic. We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.

“We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages. Half of Gaza’s two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach them.”

The letter is signed by Run The Jewels, Drake, Macklemore, The Coup’s Boots Riley, Noah “40” Shebib, Diplo, Jennifer Lopez, Jordan Peele and many, many others who are convinced the United States can play a “vital diplomatic role in ending the suffering.”

The letter continues, “We are adding our voices to those from the US Congress, UNICEF, Doctors without Borders, The International Committee of The Red Cross, and so many others. Saving lives is a moral imperative. To echo UNICEF, ‘Compassion — and international law — must prevail.’ As of this writing more than 6,000 bombs have been dropped on Gaza in the last 12 days – resulting in one child being killed every 15 minutes.”

A quote from UNICEF spokesperson James Elder reads, “Children and families in Gaza have practically run out of food, water, electricity, medicine and safe access to hospitals, following days of air strikes and cuts to all supply routes. Gaza’s sole power plant ran out of fuel Wednesday afternoon, shutting down electricity, water and wastewater treatment. Most residents can no longer get drinking water from service providers or household water through pipelines…. The humanitarian situation has reached lethal lows, and yet all reports point to further attacks. Compassion — and international law — must prevail.”

At the bottom of the letter, the signees concluded they won’t be complicit by staying quiet. It ends, “Beyond our pain and mourning for all of the people there and their loved ones around the world we are motivated by an unbending will to stand for our common humanity. We stand for freedom, justice, dignity and peace for all people – and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed. We refuse to tell future generations the story of our silence, that we stood by and did nothing. As Emergency Relief Chief Martin Griffiths told UN News, ‘History is watching.'”

Drake—who is Jewish—recently came under fire for not speaking up as the war raged on. Clearly, signing the letter is his way of doing so. Find more information here.

Ray J Steps Up To Help Kodak Black Following “Drink Champs” Episode But Faces Criticism

Ray J has come forward to support Kodak Black, but all is not perfect in his efforts, despite showing concern for the rapper.

Kodak showed up seemingly out of sorts for an interview with Drink Champs. That caused some strife among fans of the show, because they typically talk to more classic Hip-Hop acts. Kodak discussed his controversial collaboration with 6ix9ine and he seemed out of it, potentially under the influence of drugs.

Kodak Black’s Drink Champs Appearance Leaves Social Media Users Concerned For His Health

Ray J expressed his concern for Kodak via Instagram. At the same time, he explained he had a past experience with Yak that was not cool.

Ray J wrote, “Someone needs to step in and ensure he’s okay. This isn’t the Nore interview. We need to support this guy. I once took him to the Trump residence, and his behavior was highly inappropriate. They were displeased with the experience due to his lack of guidance and respect. @wack100, let’s come together to find a way to assist this young man rather than witnessing his self-destructive path.”

Some people on social media expressed that Ray J could’ve easily done his good deeds in private, behind closed doors. Instead, he took it to social media. In the past, Kodak has chastised people like Boosie Badazz for expressing their concern before the world. He has not said anything to Ray J.

Meek Mill seemed less sympathetic toward Kodak Black. Meek said he didn’t even want to be called a rapper thanks to Yak.

“I’m almost hesitant to be associated with the term ‘rapper’ anymore,” Meek stated.

And then Kodak said that 21 Savage switched up on him after doing a project with Drake. 21 only responded with several blue hat emojis, claiming “cap.”

Flavor Flav Just Crushed The National Anthem At Bucks Vs. Hawks Game

Flavor Flav is primarily known as a reality television star and the colorful hypeman for Public Enemy, who peppers the legendary rap group’s catalog with a variety of ad-libs. But many don’t realize he’s also a multi-instrumentalist who can apparently sing like an angel. On Sunday night (October 29), Flavor Flav—former star of VH1’s Flavor of Love—sauntered onto the basketball court to perform the National Anthem ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks game.

Rocking his signature clock, a pair of sunglasses, white baseball cap (sideways, of course) and a green Bucks jersey, Flavor Flav delivered a live rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that had the crowd completely awe-struck. As Flav belted out lyrics like, “And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air/Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,” blips of cheers and applause kept coming his way. At the end of the clip, someone can be heard yelling, “That’s the best national anthem ever!”

Flavor Flav (and/or his team) later addressed his performance on social media, saying, “The anthem was a long time bucket list item, that was fun! I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me. I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing things I wanna do. Some people might not like that. But a sure failure is if you stop trying. ”

“The Star-Spangled Banner” was adopted in 1931 as the national anthem of the United States. The lyrics come from the “Defence of Fort M’Henry,” a poem written on September 14, 1814. Flav’s rendition is getting rave reviews, with many people completely shocked he could sing like that.

The apple evidently doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Flavor Flav’s four-year-old son, Jordan Drayton, just released his first single and video with Goonies actor Corey Feldman. The young Drayton—who has adopted the stage name JRD—is the star of “Here Comes Halloween.” The accompanying video finds Drayton dressed as A Nightmare Before Christmas character Jack Skellington and going trick or treating with his little friends.

On Friday (October 27), Flavor Flav shared a clip of the video to his Instagram page and applauded his young son for the new song and video. He wrote in the caption, ” My son Jordan is a superstar. Here Comes Halloween, featuring Corey Feldman and my son Jordan Drayton.”

Drayton already plays the drums, piano and sings on the sidewalks of Hollywood, clearly a natural performer. As for the Bucks vs. Hawks game, the Hawks are currently up by 23 points with roughly eight minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. Watch Flavor sing the National Anthem above and Jordan Drayton (JRD)’s video below.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock Was Shook When She Beefed With Nicki Minaj During “Blackfishing” Controversy

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has described her 2021 “blackfishing” beef with Jesy Nelson and Nicki Minaj as “one of the most difficult moments” in her career.

After she quit Little Mix, Jesy launched her solo career in October 2021 with the song “Boyz,” featuring Nicki, and she was accused of “black fishing,” or pretending to be Black, in the music video.

Leaked Instagram messages subsequently appeared online, seemingly showing Jesy’s former bandmate Leigh-Anne calling her a “black fish” and a “horrible person,” and Nicki called out Leigh-Anne during an Instagram Live with Jesy.

Reflecting on the incident in her memoir, “Believe,” Pinnock explained that “the horrific online row” was hard because she was still recovering from the birth of her twins two months earlier.

“It was one of the most difficult moments I can remember throughout my career,” she recalled. “In the moment, it felt truly awful. As much as I tried to avoid Instagram and Twitter, I kept seeing the comments and the debates that were taking place on every platform. Even when I put my phone away and refused to look at it there was still this underlying anxiety about what was happening online.”

The 32-year-old then credited her newborns with helping her make peace with the dispute.

“Something so beautiful pulled me out of that horrible spiral – one of my (babies) smiled at me for the first time,” she continued. “How could I care about what people were saying about me on Instagram when something so rare and magical as my baby’s smile existed in the world? It didn’t matter. None of it did.”

Nicki Minaj aimed Leigh-Anne during an Instagram Live with Jesy to promote their collaboration.

“If you was in this woman’s group and you ain’t talk about this s### for ten years and as soon as you see she got a video coming out with Nicki Minaj and Puffy (P Diddy), now you sending text messages,” Nicki Minaj raged. “If you want a solo career, baby girl, just say that. Only jealous people do things like this.”

Cher Says Boyfriend A.E. “Gets Her” Despite Their 40-Year Age Gap

Cher has shared that she and her boyfriend, Alexander ‘A.E.’ Edwards “just get each other.” During a new interview with Extra, the music legend, 77, gave an insight into her relationship with the 37-year-old producer.

“I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together,” Cher told the outlet. “We can talk music. We can talk about everything.”

Cher added, “He’s got a great sense of humor, he’s got the cutest son in the world, ever… We just get each other.”

The pair first sparked romance rumors in November 2022 when they were spotted holding hands. They then made their red carpet debut as a couple at a Versace fashion show the following March.

Although they can talk about “everything,” Cher admitted that Alexander doesn’t always understand her references due to their 40-year age gap.

“Sometimes I’m talking to him, and he has no idea who I’m talking about… The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don’t know, Clark Gable, (is)?’ Somebody said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references… He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet,” Cher confessed.

Kylie Jenner Subtly Shades Travis Scott Over Co-Parenting Their Two Kids

Kylie Jenner has opened up about co-parenting with her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott.

During an interview with WSJ. Magazine, Kylie Jenner was asked how co-parenting her two children with the rapper was going.

“It’s going…” Kylie responded. “I think we’re doing the best job that we can do.”

Kylie shares five-year-old Stormi and 20-month-old Aire with Travis Scott. The pair began their on-and-off relationship in 2017 and called it quits in late 2022.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kylie explained why she decided to change her son’s name from Wolf to Aire nearly two months after he was born.

“That was the hardest thing that I’ve ever done in my life. I’m still like, ‘Did I make the right decision?'” the television personality said, admitting she felt pressure to give him a name.

The postpartum hit, and the hormones, and I couldn’t even make a decision or think straight,” she told the outlet. “It just destroyed me. I could not name him.”

She added, “I was like, ‘I feel like a failure. I don’t have a name for my son.’ So it took me a while. The longer I waited, the harder it was to name him.”

The reality star, who is now dating Timothée Chalamet, also shared the lessons she’s learned from raising her first child.

“My daughter has totally taught me a lot more about myself, and seeing myself in her has changed everything. I’ve had so much growth and am just embracing natural beauty,” Kylie gushed. “I’m teaching her about mistakes that I made and making sure she knows she’s just perfect exactly how she is.”

“Friends” Star Matthew Perry’s Death: No Illicit Drugs But Anti-Anxiety, Other Pills Found At Home

The entertainment world was shaken on Saturday night (October 28) when news of Matthew Perry’s death broke. The Friends star was found unresponsive in his hot tub in the backyard of his Pacific Palisades home in Los Angeles, the victim of an apparent drowning. Perry, who was open about his struggles with drug and alcohol abuse over the years, had just wrapped up a two-hour pickle ball game at Riviera near his house.

While there were no illicit drugs found at the scene, TMZ reports investigators discovered anti-anxiety, anti-depressant and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) drugs inside the home. The Los Angeles County Coroner will conduct a toxicology exam to determine if any drugs were present in Perry’s system at the time of his death, but that will take weeks, if not months.

In the meantime, his family—specifically mother Suzanne Morrison, biological father John Bennett Perry and step-father Keith Morrison—has issued a statement about Perry’s death, saying, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

All three of them arrived at Perry’s home just hours after the drowning occurred. The coroner’s van was also photographed on site as was Perry’s body being wheeled into it. At this point, investigators can’t rule out a drug overdose nor can they confirm one, but Perry’s 2022 book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, quoted Perry as saying, “My friends call me Matty and I should be dead.” His addiction to the pain killer Vicodin nearly killed him. Speaking to NBC News in an interview, Perry told Diane Sawyer his addiction was always waiting to get him isolated so he could fill his time by using drugs, in which case he admitted, “You lose to the disease.”

Matthew Perry also told Sawyer he would sometimes ingest 55 pills a day and detoxed more than 60 times, spending half his life in rehab or sober living, while attending thousands of AA meetings.

Of course, Perry has been a trending Twitter topic since his death, with celebrities and fans alike coming out in droves to express their grief. Eerily, his last Instagram post was taken six days ago in the same hot tub he drowned in. He wrote, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.” See it above.

Kim Kardashian Defends Having Nannies For Kids With Kanye West: “It Takes A Village”

Kim Kardashian has responded to backlash over her complaints about being a single parent.

Kim Kardashian was criticized after complaining about the challenges of being a single parent to her four children despite having help from nannies and a chef.

In the most recent installment of “The Kardashians,” Kim reflected on her comments, which she made on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast earlier this year.

“I think I’m still learning how to be a single parent,” the 43-year-old acknowledged in the episode. “And I just did the Jay Shetty podcast where I spoke about parenting, and I mean, I should be used to it now, but everyone had a lot to say.”

Kim shares her children, North, 10, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four, with her ex-husband Kanye West.

During her conversation with Jay, the Skims founder called parenting “really f**king hard” and confessed that she cries herself to sleep some nights.

Soon after the podcast episode went live, social media users quickly pointed out that Kim has the luxury of multiple nannies to help her look after her kids as well as a chef to take care of cooking duties.

During “The Kardashians” episode, Kim explained that although she does have extra help regarding her children, nobody can take over her job as their mother.

“Obviously, having nannies and a chef to help cook is beyond helpful. It’s all about family and enjoying these moments. It takes a village to raise kids but at the end of the day, your kids only want you,” she said.

Kim and Kanye married in 2014 and their divorce was finalized in November 2022.

The D.O.C. Says Powers That Be Behind His Documentary Are “Still Playing Games”

The D.O.C. has delivered an update on his highly anticipated documentary, The DOC. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022 but has been tied up in red tape ever since. The Dallas-born gangsta rap legend has been vocal about his frustrations with the situation over the last several months but continues to look at the bright side. On Friday (October 27), The D.O.C. responded to a fan’s inquiry about the film via Twitter. He replied, “These people still playing games with me in the year of Hip Hop, but it’s a G.O.D thing not a D.O.C thing so they can’t win. They only making the splash bigger. It’s coming.”

Directed by Dave Caplan, The DOC goes into vivid detail about the man born Tracy Curry. As the IMDb description explains, “Thirty years after losing his voice in a horrific car accident, rap legend The D.O.C. considers dangerous experimental surgery that could restore his voice at long last, as he recounts his life story.”

It all began in 1989 when The D.O.C. was on top of the world. Having just released his debut album, No One Can Do It Better, three months prior, he was admittedly in celebration mode. After leaving a party one night in Los Angeles, The D.O.C. was “high as a kite” when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the side of the freeway. Without the aid of a seatbelt, he flew out of the rear window and slammed face-first into a tree. His injuries required 21 hours of plastic surgery and more than two weeks in the hospital. When he awoke, he realized he couldn’t speak, a devastating feeling for anyone but especially a rapper.

“The night of the accident, it was like a 24-hour period where I had tried both cocaine and ecstasy,” he said in a 2022 interview with me. “And then it just quit working when I was driving home.” When asked if he wished the officers would have hauled him off to jail, he replied, “I did that for about 30 years. But here recently, I understand that those officers were just a part of that time. Had they taken me to jail, I wouldn’t be here where I am right now today. Now, I have insight into an understanding that allows me to help a lot of other people who are in that same space.”

The D.O.C. endure a period where he was gravely depressed and using substances to numb his pain. But with that in the rearview, he’s focused on his latest chapter. Earlier this year, The D.O.C. teamed up with The Codefendants—NOFX’s Fat Mike, Ceschi Ramos and Sam King—for the single “Fast Ones,” which included The D.O.C.’s first verse in decades. He had a chance to perform the song live at Fat Mike’s annual Punk in Drublic Festival, a feeling he essentially equated to heaven on earth.

The sky’s the limit for the talented songwriter, who’s also been back in the studio with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Fans will just have to see what his next move is.
