Pusha T Warns He Would Be “Smoking” Rappers All Summer If He Wasn’t On Tour

Pusha T says rappers are lucky he’s on tour this summer otherwise he’d take over. The former G.O.O.D. Music recording artist is currently on the rescheduled European leg of his It’s Almost Dry Tour but will be getting right back to making music. He took to Instagram Tuesday (June 13) with a highlight reel of recent performances alongside a warning to his peers.

“Fun Fact: Had I not had to do these shows I would have been f###### y’all up this summer. I’m talking ‘bout really smoking you n##### man,” Pusha T declared.

He said that while the concerts and his supporters have been “great,” he’s putting rappers on notice.

“The shows have been great, the fans have been great,” he said before adding, “I’m circling back.”

King Push says the summer is just getting warmed up, and he has a question for his contemporaries.

“Hope you enjoyed all the highlights from this run,” Pusha T added. “This marks the beginning of summer for me, and I’m feeling competitive…how about you?”

Jim Jones Insists Pusha T Isn’t A Top 50 Rapper

Pusha T may be feeling like he needs to remind people he’s one of the best rappers of all time after Jim Jones went viral earlier this year for challenging his Hip-Hop credentials.

“What has [Pusha T] done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time besides talk about coke that he probably didn’t get himself?” Jim Jones asked during an April appearance on Spotify’s “RapCaviar” podcast. “He’s nice! He’s nice as s###. He could rap his ass off, but what has he done?”

He continued, “Nobody has dressed liked him. Nobody want to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing. And let’s not be evil, but we don’t talk about rap where the n#### that’s popping, the b###### wanna f### and the n##### wanna be like. I don’t know too many n##### in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T.”

Vivica A. Fox Slams “Clout Chaser” Nick Cannon Over 50 Cent Reunion Comments

Vivica A. Fox has fired back at Nick Cannon after the comedian addressed her recent comments about being open to rekindling her romance with 50 Cent.

The “Set It Off” star and Fiddy shared a whirlwind romance for a few months in the early 2000s. However, Fox admitted she’s open to reuniting with 50 Cent, saying, “Why not?” during a recent episode of Sherri

Cannon discussed her comments on his Daily Cannon podcast earlier this week, reigniting his old beef with the G-Unit mogul in the process.

“You can fantasize about Fif from 15 years ago,” he said. “That’s a different Fif than this fat n#### that’s walking around now.”

Nick Cannon wasn’t done with the jokes and continued to throw jabs at Fiddy over his weight.

“He is fat!” he added. “He look like he got a pack of hot dogs in the back of his neck. You lookin’ at them pictures from Get Rich or Die Tryin’, now it’s Get Thick or Die Fryin’!”

Fox caught wind of Nick Cannon’s roasting session and took to Instagram to respond. She returned fire with fire, mocking the Wild ‘n Out star for being “community d**k.”

“Yo let me correct myself!,” she wrote in the Hollywood Unlocked comments section. “Yo Nick I’d rather be with #50Cent any day than yo community d**k ass! Now go somewhere and pay yo child support! #CloutChaser.”

50 Cent also seemingly responded to Nick Cannon with an Instagram post of his own Monday (June 12).

“If your marketing campaign is say something about 50, you’re not going to make it, have a nice day,” he wrote alongside an image that read: “It’s never luck. It’s always God.”

The Weeknd Addresses His Character’s “Gluttonous” Sex Scene In “The Idol”

The Weeknd is confronting the controversy surrounding his new series, HBO’s The Idol, and his character’s recent sex scene. Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye plays the role of shady club owner “Tedros” in the show. In the second episode, his character attempts to get it on with pop star “Jocelyn.” The show went viral after the episode aired, with fans taking to social media to discuss the show and its racy yet awkward bedroom romps.

During a recent interview with GQ, The Weeknd denied The Idol was supposed to feel overtly sexy.

“There’s nothing sexy about it,” he claimed. “When we use Basic Instinct as a reference, we’re using Verhoeven. Verhoeven is the king of ‘90s satire thriller—yes, there’s moments of ‘sexy’ in his films but there are other moments that are very cheesy and hilarious.

“How ever you’re feeling watching that scene, whether it’s discomfort, or you feel gross, or you feel embarrassed for the characters. It’s all those emotions adding up to: This guy is in way over his head, this situation is one where he is not supposed to be here.”

Furthermore, The Weeknd defended the “gluttonous” sex scene in The Idol episode 2, reasoning that his “loser” character can’t believe he’s there with this pop star.

“You look at him, and this is a score—Jocelyn might be the biggest score he’s ever had,” he added. “It’s very obvious. He’s over-indulging, he walks into this house looking around like, G######, am I way over my head? This can be the biggest job I’ve ever done. Whatever it is that he’s doing. Even the sex, it’s so gluttonous [laughs]. Especially in episode 2. ‘Gluttony’ is the only word I can think of [to describe it]. He can’t believe he’s there.”

Babyface Ousted From Anita Baker’s Tour Following “Kenny’s Crazies” Controversy

Babyface was evidently kicked off Anita Baker’s Songstress Tour following days of Twitter drama. In a statement, Babyface admitted he was “saddened by the news.” He continued, “It’s unfortunate and disheartening to see how things have played out via social media. While I was looking forward to the rest of the dates, I have nothing but love & respect for Anita and I wish her the best for the remainder of her tour.”

A post shared by Kenny Edmonds (@babyface)

The discourse started last month, after Babyface was forced to cancel his opening set at Baker’s headlining show in Newark due to timing. As she explained on June 6, “Live Nation took full responsibility. I went on my stage, at the appropriate time. Did my job without benefit of full production.”

Then on Monday (June 12), Baker asked Babyface to call off fans she said were bullying and threatening her, calling them “Kenny’s Crazies.”

“Some of his fans, are not accepting of the reality, that he is contracted, as special guest support, on My Tour,” she wrote. “Some even want to hurt me… Crazyyyy. Town.”

Babyface sued Baker in 2006, but she told Twitter followers that had been settled and there were no hard feelings. She wrote, “My company defended and prevailed against the lawsuit filed, (not by Babyface, but by his reps. at the time). Kenny, came to me YEARS ago, in the spirit of community and we put it all behind us and came together, in love, peace, music and community and forgiveness.”

On Tuesday (June 13), Baker broke the news to Babyface fans around the globe. She wrote, “After Silently, Enduring Cyber Bulling/Verbal Abuse & Threats of Violence from the Fan Base, of Our Special Guest/Support Act. In the Interest of Personal Safety. I will continue, The Songstress Tour, alone. Appropriate refunds will be made. Blessings.”

André 3000 Verse Arrives Courtesy Of Killer Mike’s “Scientists & Engineers” Featuring Future

André 3000 remains one of Hip-Hop’s most elusive figures. The Outkast legend and flute-wielding globe trotter rarely performs and doesn’t pop up on singles too often. But Killer Mike, a longtime collaborator and fellow ATLien, got him out of retirement. On Tuesday (June 13), the Run The Jewels spitter released a new single called “Scientists & Engineers” featuring Future and—yep!—the inimitable 3 Stacks. The track serves as the inaugural single from Killer Mike’s forthcoming solo album, Michael, out Friday (June 16).

Par for the course, André 3000 is in top form, rhyming, “All I know is when the portrait paintеd, better have your portion of thе rent/A dollar more and you will get upgraded when you’ve think you’ve made it, you are then/Just tolerated, overrated, hope I’m 80 when I get my second wind.”

Paired with an angelic chorus, the soothing yet relentlessly hard-hitting single finds Future stepping up to the mic for the second verse, while Killer Mike lays down the third and final verse.

Much like Future, Killer Mike focuses on his ongoing hustle with lines such as, “Man, I’m a villain with children’/So I’m never chillin’, I gotta make millions/I used to be dope with the dealin’, but that got a ceilin’
And we know the usual endin’/N###as get rich and go b####, and go fail and go snitch/And then f### up they family and friends.”

Future’s inclusion isn’t as random as some people may think. Future is the younger cousin of Dungeon Family member Rico Wade, who’s also a part of Organized Noise. Organized Noise, of course, worked with fellow Dungeon Family members Outkast and Goodie Mob, to name a few. Listen to it above.

Famous White Actor Admits Playing Michael Jackson Was Huge “Mistake”

Joseph Fiennes has confessed he made “a bad mistake” when he agreed to play Michael Jackson in a TV show. While speaking to The Observer, “The Handmaid’s Tale” star discussed being cast as the Thriller singer in a 2017 episode of the “Urban Myths” anthology series.

“I think people are absolutely right to be upset,” Fiennes said of his casting. “And it was a wrong decision. Absolutely. And I’m one part of that—there are producers, broadcasters, writers, directors, all involved in these decisions.

“But obviously if I’m upfront, I have become the voice for other people. I would love them to be around the table as well to talk about it. But you know, it came at a time where there was a movement and a shift and that was good, and it was, you know, a bad call. A bad mistake.”

The episode followed Jackson as he embarked on a road trip with Marlon Brando (played by Brian Cox) and Elizabeth Taylor (Stockard Channing) after 9/11.

The episode drew backlash for its content and for casting Fiennes—a Caucasian man—in the role of the African-American King of Pop. Jackson’s daughter, Paris, publicly condemned the project.

Following the controversy, executives at the broadcaster Sky pulled the episode before it aired, and Fiennes revealed in the interview that he campaigned for that decision.

“I asked the broadcaster to pull it,” he added. “And there were some pretty hefty discussions, but ultimately people made the right choice.”

YNW Melly Double Murder Trial: Victims Family “Disgusted” By Rapper’s Grin

YNW Melly’s double murder continued in a Florida courtroom on Tuesday (June 13). A jury is tasked with deciding if YNW Melly is guilty of killing his two friends, YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, in October 2018. If convicted, the rapper faces the death penalty. The Law & Crime Network has been keeping close tabs on the trial, which began on Monday (June 12).

According to a tweet from Law & Crime reporter Bryson Paul, the victims’ families are having a hard time seeing YNW Melly in the courtroom. They were reportedly “disgusted” by Melly’s ongoing grin, which he flashed multiple times during court proceedings.

In an audio clip describing the scene, Juvy’s mother stood up and stared at YNW Melly until he looked at her. The contentious energy in the room continued throughout day two of the trial.

There were some emotional moments as well. At one point, a video tape of the Jeep Compass both victims were supposedly killed in began to play. It proved to be too overwhelming for YNW Sakchaser’s mother.

“Prosecution has prepared Juvy and Sakchaser’s mothers for what is about to be shown,” another tweet reads. “Sakchaser’s mother can’t fight back the tears and leaves the courtroom. Juvy’s mother is tearful but refuses to leave.”

Both victims’ families remained disheartened by YNW Melly’s behavior. As day two came to a close, YNW Sakchaser’s mother could be heard saying to YNW Juvy’s mother, “They fake, they all fake” as she looked at YNW Melly and his family sitting in the front row.

YNW Melly was reportedly “all smiles and in great spirits” as he left the courtroom. But Sakchaser and Juvy’s families admitted they can’t stand him making his “dumb ass faces.” The trial is expected to last several weeks.

Marlon Wayans Vows To Troll United Airlines Over Lackluster Response For Being Booted From Flight

Marlon Wayans has called out an airline on social media after he was kicked off of a flight. The “Scary Movie” star was cited for disturbing the peace after he had a dispute with a United Airlines employee over carry-on luggage in Denver, Colorado on Friday (June 9).

After consolidating his luggage from three carry-on items into two, per the airline’s policy, he was told he would have to check the bag, but he refused and attempted to board the flight before being removed.

Marlon Wayans, who’s been calling out United employees over the weekend, continued on Monday (June 12) after praising rival airline Delta.

“The corporate call i got from (United) was insensitive and once again unaccommodating,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Customer service should ease and respect the customers not protect the employee that abused their authority. You inconvenienced me, lost me money and most all left my fans hanging. You. Owe us all.

“We gonna troll until this is remedied. I dm’d ceo and am sending letters. Any other airline immediately reaches out to make things right. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here. But man we gonna have fun trolling.”

The “White Chicks” actor claimed he’s received “one measly phone call” from United despite all the coverage about the incident. He added, “When your passengers are disrespected, inconvenienced and harassed there should be a lot more done and a whole lot quicker… I’m waiting.”

Wayans ultimately booked onto a new flight with a different airline, but he still missed his stand-up show in Kansas City on Friday. According to The Associated Press, the citation orders Wayans to appear in a Denver court on July 11.

Chart-Topping MAGA Rapper Hosts Massive Protest To Support Disgraced Ex-President Donald Trump

In an unprecedented event, Donald Trump is scheduled to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday (June 13), where he’s being arraigned on 37 felony counts related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents. This marks the first time in U.S. history that a former president has been charged with a crime.

As Trump’s court appearance looms, MAGA-aligned figures, including prominent pro-Trump rapper Forgiato Blow, have called for public support outside of the courthouse.

Staunch alt-right rapper Forgiato Blow, who recently topped the iTunes charts with his song “Boycott Target,” is one of the key figures rallying support for Trump.

Blow’s song, a collaboration with fellow rappers Jimmy Levy, Nick Nittoli, and Stoney Dudebro, addresses what he perceives as an LGBTQ “agenda” that has gone “too far,” particularly targeting children’s Pride-themed clothing at Target stores.

Released on May 25, the track and its accompanying music video have garnered millions of views across platforms, despite Blow’s claims of widespread shadow-banning by social media sites and Apple.

In an impassioned plea to his hundreds of thousands of followers, Blow stated, “I want you outside that courthouse supporting Donald J. Trump. I mean, this is crazy what they’re doing. We gotta keep fighting for big Trump though. I want to see everybody out there tomorrow. Don’t forget a positive day a positive movement, fighting for Donald Trump. He loves us so we got to fight hard for him because we love him. So God bless all the Patriots.”

https://twitter.com/ForgiatoBlow47?t=DjBSbaTN5KpdDK2qRc6UMw&s=09

Trump, who has consistently maintained his innocence, is expected to plead not guilty.

The case, brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, focuses on crimes allegedly committed in or around Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach regarding his handling of classified documents. Trump’s arraignment and trial are set to take place in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida.

Meanwhile, Forgiato Blow’s “I Stand With Trump Rally” is taking place outside the courthouse. Fellow rapper and Flat Earth-promoting artist, Jimmy Levy, has also declared his intention to join the protest.

The rappers’ planned presence adds to the expected large crowds, with Miami officials preparing for a significant turnout. The indictment has stirred the political landscape, with some Republicans expressing concerns about the potential political fallout.

Former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) revealed that many Republicans are hoping for Trump to “go away,” acknowledging that the indictments could be politically devastating for the party, especially if Trump becomes the nominee in a general election.

Notwithstanding the political discourse, Forgiato Blow remains steadfast in his support of Trump.

The rapper, who believes his music is “shifting the culture” and encourages his followers to “stand on your own and be a leader,” appears determined to rally for the former president, echoing the sentiments of the “hardcore MAGA wing folks” as described by Dent.

As the day progresses, the events unfolding outside the courthouse will likely reflect the deep divisions and fervor that continue to characterize American politics in the Trump era.

Study Shows Spelman College Has Highest Graduation Rate Out Of All HBCUs

The summer season is finally here and graduations seem to have drowned everyone’s timelines. One might not have noticed it, but some schools may have dominated the algorithm because of the sheer numbers of graduates they produced.

According to The Ed Advocate, there are five Historically Black Colleges and Universities that have the highest graduation rate and are pushing out the nation’s next Black and brown leaders.

Coming in at No. 5 is New Orleans’ Xavier University of Louisiana. It’s not only the only Catholic HBCU but also has a four-year graduation rate of approximately 40 percent.

In fourth place is Hampton University in the state of Virginia. Founded in 1868, just a few years out of slavery, this school is steeped in legacy and has a graduation rate of about 55 percent.

Morehouse College, the only all men’s HBCU and alma mater of Dr. Martin Luther King, Gang Starr’s Guru, Killer Mike, Baba Zumbi from Zion I, Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington and Spike Lee, has a high four-year graduation rate of approximately 58 percent.

Sean “Puffy” Combs alma mater, Howard University, scooped the No. 2 spot. And while Diddy never graduated from the prestigious school, many others like Nick Cannon, Tracey Lee, Phylicia Rashad and her sister Debbie Allen and so many more have. The support system at the college is strong, which is why it’s no shock the Bisons have a 62 percent graduation rate.

The HBCU with the highest graduation rate is Spelman College, the birthplace of Black Girl Magic, original location for the sitcom “A Different World” and one of the most notable institutions in the world, with a reported graduation rate of 75 percent.

To put this in perspective, The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center said in 2022 their studies revealed 62.3 percent of full-time students at all four-year institutions graduate within six years.

Remarkably, this list closely mirrors US News and World Reports Top HBCUs. Spelman also tops this list , with HU coming in at second place. Third place is Alabama’s Tuskegee and both Morehouse and Xavier, who are on the other list, are in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Hampton makes the list but not the Top 5. The school finds itself in sixth place.

Nick Cannon Calls Out “Dish Nation” For Spreading Rumors About His Family

It’s no secret Nick Cannon has a dozen children by six different women. The television personality constantly speaks about his ever-growing family.

Speculation the Wild ‘N Out host plans to start a band, à la The Jackson 5, with his children spread across the internet this week. The online gossip also claimed Cannon’s ex-wife, Mariah Carey, put a stop to the potential musical group.

“Not Nick Cannon trying to be the next Joe Jackson,” a tweet from the Dish Nation Twitter account read. “Rumor has it that the #WildNOut creator had dreams of starting a band with his 11 kids, but Mariah Carey, who shares twins Monroe and Morocco with him, isn’t having it!”

The Daily Cannon Presenter Has Words For Dish Nation’s Crew

Nick Cannon got wind of the tabloid news show’s post. The 42-year-old host of FOX‘s The Masked Singer competition series addressed Dish Nation while also promoting his own show, The Daily Cannon.

“Don’t tell me y’all are dumb enough to believe this too!?” he tweeted. “LOL I thought y’all had real credible producers over there @DishNation. It’s all love though, @DailyCannonShow is coming for that slot, so if any of the good producers over there need a job holla at me!”

Cannon added, “@DishNation is about to get canceled, sadly. Just had a few closed-door meetings in NY. Gonna try my best to hire as many of the good people over there for a few of my various shows.”

Nick Cannon Chats About Pop Culture Gossip On His Own Amp Show

The Daily Cannon launched via the Amp app on April 24. That new hosting gig joined previous Cannon-led programs such as Wild ‘N Out and America’s Got Talent. His self-titled daytime TV talk show ended after one season.

“Having a place where I can directly connect with listeners five days a week to spotlight the hottest emerging artists, chat about the latest and greatest in music and entertainment, and share real-time announcements in my world and beyond will make The Daily Cannon a show you don’t want to miss,” Cannon said in April.

Dish Nation began airing nationwide in 2012. The show has featured radio personalities such as Rickey Smiley, Headkrack, and Gary With Da Tea. Hip-Hop artist Da Brat, reality show veteran Porshia Williams and comedian Sherri Shepherd starred on the show too. Two years ago, FOX renewed Dish Nation through the 2022-2023 season.

Rubi Rose Faces Lawsuit For Damages Caused During “Twork” Video

Rubi Rose could be headed to court. Her 2021 music video for “TWORK” left an art studio needing repairs, according to a new lawsuit.

TMZ reports Analia Saban sued Rubi Rose, her HitCo label and directors Jay and Georgio Rodriguez. The conceptual artist claimed the defendants are responsible for damaging her property.

Apparently, a high-pressure fire truck hose marred Saban’s building as well as high-valued art pieces. Saban’s suit claims Rose’s “TWORK” video shoot caused at least six figures in damages. The Hollywood Fire Authority supposedly rented the firefighter equipment to Rose’s team. Saban also named the company in her suit for not properly training the crew.

Rubi Rose’s official “TWORK” music video amassed more than two million views on YouTube since its premiere in July 2021. The 90-second visual is currently “unlisted” on the platform.

The “TWORK” lyric video is still publicly available on Rose’s verified YouTube channel. That version presently has 242,000 YouTube plays. It debuted two weeks before the official music video.

Additionally, Rose racked up streams for singles such as “Big Mouth” and “He In His Feelings.” The former Georgia State University student also got a major co-sign when she appeared in Cardi B’s record-breaking “WAP” video.

Rubi Rose dropped her debut mixtape, For the Streets, in December 2020. Freebandz leader Future and OVO singer PartyNextDoor contributed to that eight-track project. Plus, Rose has collaborated with Rob $tone, Asian Doll and Rich The Kid.

Man Agrees To Pay Cardi B $350K In Legal Fees For Failed Tattoo Lawsuit

Cardi B has been the victor in multiple high profile civil cases. More recently, the “Up” hitmaker defeated Kevin Brophy in a legal battle over body art. Brophy sued Cardi B for allegedly using an image of his back tattoo for the rapper’s Gangsta B#### Music, Vol. 1 cover without his permission. A California jury has now ruled against Brophy in that $5 million lawsuit.

“I just won this lawsuit,” Cardi B tweeted in 2022. “I’m soo emotional right now. I wanna kiss God’s feet right now… I’M BEYOND GRATEFUL!!!!”

According to Billboard, Brophy has agreed to pay Cardi B $350,000 for her legal bills accrued during the case. He also shut down his attempt to seek a new trial or possibly challenge the verdict on appeal.

An agreement between the two parties reportedly ensures Brophy will “waive and irrevocably relinquish” the ability to seek any further legal options. As a result, Cardi B will waive the right to file a motion formally seeking attorneys’ fees.

Kevin Brophy Claimed The Gangsta B#### Music Cover Art Damaged His Reputation

In 2007, Brophy claimed the Gangsta B#### Music image left him “devastated, humiliated and embarrassed.” The photo shows a man with his head between Cardi B’s legs as she drinks a Corona beer.

“It looks like I’m giving oral sex to somebody that’s not my wife, somebody that’s not my partner, and an image that I never signed off on—ever,” Brophy said in court. “Being a father of two and a devoted husband and a man of faith as well, this goes against everything that I stand for, and I would never ever sign off on something like this.”

In addition to Cardi B’s legal team defeating Kevin Brophy, she also scored a victory in the defamation lawsuit against controversial YouTuber Tasha K. A Georgia jury ordered Tasha K to pay Cardi B nearly $4 million.

In 2022, a New York judge dismissed a defamation case against Cardi and her sister, Hennessy Carolina, filed in Suffolk County. Last year also saw Cardi plead guilty to assault and reckless endangerment charges in the state. She received a sentence of fifteen days of community service.

Gangsta B#### Music, Vol. 1, Cardi B’s debut mixtape, dropped in 2016 via the KSR label. The first precursor to the chart-topping Invasion of Privacy album hosted the tracks “Washpoppin” and “Foreva.” Gangsta B#### Music, Vol. 2 arrived in 2017.

Tyler Perry Reportedly Set To Buy BET

There’s been a lot of speculation about who would eventually purchase the BET brand from Paramount Global. It appears billionaire filmmaker/studio owner Tyler Perry is the frontrunner to be BET’s next owner.

Over the last several months, multiple individuals have expressed interest in buying BET. Hip-Hop artists/moguls Diddy and 50 Cent were named as potential buyers.

A new report from The Streamr claims Perry will take control of BET Media Group for an undisclosed amount. Perry previously signed a multi-year joint venture between Tyler Perry Studios and the BET+ streaming service.

BET+ productions such as All the Queen’s Men and Ruthless film at the Tyler Perry Studios in Georgia. If Perry does finalize a deal to acquire BET Media Group, he’ll also take control of the VH1 network.

“Rumor? No, it’s not a rumor, I’ve been there for four years now and had tremendous success,'” Tyler Perry told Entertainment Tonight in April 2023 about potentially purchasing BET.

The 53-year-old Atlanta resident added, “I wasn’t expecting this to happen, so, yes—if that is possible, I’m very, very interested in taking as much of it… If it’s possible, I’m gonna take as much of it as I can.”

Tyler Perry is best known for playing the character of Mabel “Madea” Simmons in numerous stage plays and movies, including the 2022 Netflix motion picture A Madea Homecoming.

Robert L. Johnson launched the BET cable channel in January 1980. The network has been home to programs such as Teen Summit, Rap City, The Game, College Hill, The New Edition Story and The Breakfast Club.

Boosie Badazz Says Rappers Shouldn’t Profit From Music After Snitching

Boosie Badazz is sharing his opinions about rappers who snitch and go on to make money from “glorifying” a lifestyle they’re not a part of. Boosie isn’t shy about addressing the topic of rappers allegedly cooperating with authorities and regularly offers his thoughts on various artists.

In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kidd, Boosie said rappers who violate street code are “misleading” listeners by bragging about activities they know nothing about.

“Once you accept this code, it’s over,” he began before explaining artists who rap about street life are “guiding” listeners who pay attention to their lyrics. “We guide them. You can’t get rich off all this guiding,” suggesting it’s “time to pay’ for “misleading” fans.

However, Boosie Badazz has a solution, recommending that artists who snitch glorify their “rat” status by making music about telling while dressed in a rodent costume.

“Ain’t none of these people snitching going on a record on saying ‘I’m a rat,’ he stated. “No, you’re saying you’re solid. You’re getting rich off glorifying our lifestyle. See if you can get rich saying you’re a rat then.”

Boosie continued, “I don’t think they should be capitalizing off music after they do that. ‘Cause you’re saying in your raps not to be that. You’re teaching so many people who listen to us, to be solid. So when you break that code, why should you still get saluted for it?”

JAY-Z & Kanye West’s “N###as In Paris” Goes Diamond

The Throne just added another jewel to the group’s crown. JAY-Z and Kanye West’s “N##### In Paris” has been certified diamond (10 million units) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Collectively known as The Throne, JAY-Z and Kanye West released “N##### In Paris” in 2011. The Hit-Boy-produced collaboration lives on the Watch the Throne studio album.

West now has two Diamond-certified songs. The G.O.O.D. Music founder’s 2007 single “Stronger” reached 10x-Platinum status in 2021. 2005’s “Gold Digger” featuring Jamie Foxx is 8x-Platinum.

“N##### In Paris” marks JAY-Z’s first diamond-certified song. He does have two 4x-platinum tracks—2012’s “Clique” with Kanye West and Big Sean and 2013’s “Holy Grail” featuring Justin Timberlake.

JAY-Z and Kanye West’s “N##### In Paris” won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. The record peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Watch the Throne debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart by selling more than 436,000 copies in its first week. The RIAA certified the project 5x-platinum in 2020.

Kanye West ranks at No. 4 on the RIAA’s list of Top Digital Singles Artists (144 million units), while JAY-Z presently has 18.5 million certified digital singles units. Fellow rap star Drake leads the tally with 184 million units.

Anita Baker Urges Babyface To Tame Fans Amid Online Feud With “Kenny’s Crazies”

Anita Baker is telling Babyface to tame his fanbase, who she says are threatening and harassing her over the fallout from their controversial concert last month.

Babyface was tapped as the support act for the Newark, New Jersey stop of Anita Baker’s “Songstress” tour on May 10. However, following a two hour delay over technical issues, Babyface’s performance was axed to allow his fellow R&B legend time for her headline set.

Although the concert was a month ago, complaints resurfaced recently, and on Monday (June 12) Anita Baker took to Twitter to respond to “Kenny’s Crazies.”

“It was 9:30pm,” Baker wrote in reference to the Newark concert. “*Contractually?… It was WAAAY Past time 4 the Headline Performer, to be On Stage/Anita Baker Support Act did Not Perform. I have No Contract with Support Act. Not my Call. I Did what i was *Contracted 2 do & Love, as Headline Performer, of my Sold Out Concert.”

In one follow-up tweet, Anita Baker implied “fake news” was “deliberately” disseminated, harming her reputation in the process.

“Support Act’s Equipment was On Stage For HOURS Prior my Set amid Video wall Failure… But, With Live Musicians? We. PLAY. ANYway. Why did they, Not Perform?” she continued. “I/Anita did Nothing to Prevent their Live/to Track, Performance….Other ppl? Tech issue? #AskThem.”

Babyface Clarifies Canceled Set

After the May 10 show, Babyface took to social media to explain why he did not perform.

“I am truly sorry to my fans who have been waiting for us to hit the stage this evening at the Prudential Center. I was asked not to perform in order to give Ms. Baker her space and time to perform her show in its entirety,” he shared on May 11. “My band and I are extremely saddened we didn’t get to perform for y’all tonight.”

However, Anita Baker asked Babyface to call off “your boys,” adding, “There is A White man, behind these Grown Black Men… harrassing Me & Gaslighting, My Fans. Because he Cant take over, this Tour.”

Method Man Backs Redman’s Decision To Leave “Power Book II: Ghost”

Method Man has opened up about Redman’s decision to walk away from Power Book II: Ghost following the rapper’s abrupt departure from the role of Theo Rollins after just three episodes.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club on Monday (June 12), Method Man discussed the reason for Redman’s absence.

“You really wanna know why?” Method Man said. “He wouldn’t get the jab. At least that’s what I heard. Did I talk to Redman about it? No. S### like that don’t even need to be said. He’s not the first or the last person that’ll probably happen to. Redman, he made a decision and I stick by whatever that decision was. If he feels that was best for him, I agree with him.”

Fans were shocked to discover Redman was seemingly replaced overnight by Jordan Mahome after appearing in three episodes of season two of the series.

“I walked away from it because they wanted me to be vaccinated and I’m not vaccinating s###, ” Redman clarified during an interview with HitStory Makers in late 2022.

Method Man previously spoke to AllHipHop about his excitement to work with his rhyme partner when Redman was first hired.

Redman is a consummate professional like myself. If anything, I owe him a lot because he actually showed me how to perform correctly on stage—whether people remember or not,” Method Man explained. “He had been in the game two years prior than what I had been. So, when you put us on screen, that resonates. We have chemistry.”

Denver Nuggets Win NBA Championship For First Time In Franchise History

The Denver Nuggets won their first NBA Championship in franchise history on Monday night (June 12), beating the Miami Heat 94-89 in Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals. Led by Nikola Jović and Jamal Murray, the Nuggets barely held on and were losing multiple times throughout the game. But they managed to fight their way to a victory, and Jović was crowned MVP as his team members shed a few tears.

As expected, the Ball Arena in the Mile High City exploded in celebration while Jović’s two giant Serbian brothers lifted Nuggets coach Michael Malone into the air. It was a sight to see, and the world was clearly watching.

The game quickly became a trending Twitter topic, and several Hip-Hop figures took to the social media platform to congratulate the team. DJ Quik wrote simply, “Congratulations Denver Nuggets,” while former Tommy Boy A&R Dante Ross noted, “Fantastic game The Heat have mad heart.”

Boosie Badazz Says He Probably Would Have Been A Slave And Gives The Reason Why

Rapper Boosie Badazz says if he were back in the antebellum South, he would probably be a slave.

During an interview with former battle rapper turned talk show host Math Hoffa, the “Wipe Me Down” chart-topper was asked about the almost equally controversial Kanye West.

Boosie shares on the “My Expert Opinion” show that he was “p##### off at Kanye West” last year when he made several inflammatory statements about the Black Lives Matter movement, George Floyd, the Jews, and slavery. He said he was so upset that he could not stop tweeting and “misspelling words” trying to get his outrage out on Twitter.

“I don’t like what Kanye do to our Black race,” the Louisiana recording artist said. “I don’t know what Blacks done done to him, bro.”

Math Hoffa jumped in and asked if he was referring to the White Lives Matter shirts— which caused an uproar with the other guests in the barber shop setting.

Still, Boosie didn’t get distracted. He was clear on what he feels Kanye’s perspective on is on Black people.

“[Ye] said slavery was a choice,” the guest blurted out.

Math Hoffa dropped a bomb and said he felt the same way, shifting the conversation to what he would have done if he was a victim of the Transatlantic Slave Trade (the MAAFA).

“I don’t,” Boosie said, vehemently shaking his head “no,” and mimicking what a whip might look like going against an enslaved person’s back.

Hoffa tried to challenge that and ask why didn’t people rise up and fight back or stop Europeans from going into Africa and stealing his ancestors. He asked why people didn’t risk their lives or choose death.

Boosie (nor many of the other guests) jacking Hoffa.

“I don’t agree with nothing Kanye West says about Blacks. I feel as a person, from what I seen him do and talk about Black people, I feel like he has no love or respect for the Black race,” the rapper said, adding, “I feel he loves the white race more.”

To this point, Math Hoffa brought the infamous 2005 Hurricane Katrina telethon and Ye’s comments about the then-sitting president.

Boosie was clear.

“He said ‘George Bush doesn’t care about Black people,’” the rapper said, “but he shows he doesn’t love Black people.”

One of Boosie’s problems with Kanye is that he believes the artist has a dynamic platform but has chosen to use it multiple times to tear down and “disgrace” Black people, particularly pointing at his comments regarding Floyd.

As the conversation intensified, Hoffa asked Boosie if would he have fought to the death to not be enslaved or have his family members enslaved.

“At that time, I am going to do what I have to do to stay alive,” Boosie said. “If I run, I’ma die.”

“Now let me flip it on you. If a million of your brothers and sisters got burned up in a fire, would you like somebody talking about them or saying anything that is not supporting them?” he asked Math Hoffa.

Hoffa didn’t answer the question, perhaps not understanding that Boosie was referencing the Jewish Holocaust.

During the discussion, Hoffa continued to be challenged, even by his co-host who said, “You’re speaking from the perspective of a free man. You don’t know what it feels like to be in captivity. You have no idea what that is like and to sit there and judge someone who was…”

Boosie jumps in and says, “You don’t know if you’ve never been in captivity. Some people not gonna run if you over them with guns and whips on your back.”

Hoffa asked, “What you gonna do?”

“I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t in captivity,” Boosie, a man from the deep South, answered.

“If I run, I’ma die. I probably would have been a motherf##king slave,” he said. “If I was born in captivity…”

Math interrupts and says, “You? That’s hard to believe.”

The consensus of Boosie and the other host, “It’s hard to think about being born into captivity.”

“That’s just like me being born in the hood and staying a hood n##ga. If I was born into captivity and all I know since a child is praising and being took care by a white man I probably would have been a f##king Django or a slave overseer. I would probably be f##k up,” he said.
