Shawn2hot Creating A Buzz In The Hip Hop Scene

Emerging from Georgetown, Guyana, Shawn2hot was just like any other teenager when he came to the USA at 16, dreaming of making a big name for himself. Music was not only a hobby for him. It was a pillar that kept him standing and going about in life. Coming from a destitute background and having been a subject to violence at an earlier age, Shawn2hot had a challenging childhood. Instead of allowing these obstacles to get to him, he channeled his blood, sweat, and tears into music.

Shawn2hot started writing poems, but when his understanding and passion for hip hop grew, those poems gradually developed into song lyrics. His singles particularly stand out due to their novel tones and themes, which Shawn2hot describes as a style labeled as thinking out of the box.

The hurdles in his path were numerous but not alarming enough to lead him to give up. Although he had no money and no formal training, his knack for music and creating beats helped him earn a fortune. The trouble, however, arose when no music label considered him worthy enough to launch his music under their name. Not having a music background or any proper qualifications in music, most labels began to overlook him and his skills. While this may have motivated numerous others, Shawn2hot was not the one who quickly lost heart. The constant rejections had no hold over him. His escape from this overbearing situation was making more and more music.

Shawn2hot classifies his music as being therapeutic for himself. Music has been his paradise when the world around him seemed like hell. Falling in love with this art helped him come out of the quicksand he would otherwise have been pulled in. With time he realized that waiting for a music label to pick up his music would be futile. Thus he decided to open his own record label named Volcano Music Group. Promoting his music was still a challenge for him. Still, because he was doing something he loved, any challenge only excited him and fueled his burning passion.

Shortly after creating his own record label, Shawn2hot started releasing his singles which soon caught fire and became tunes analogous to hip hop. After the massive success of his singles, Shawn2hot saw his music being aired on station 105.1, a notable station in the world of hip hop. Motivated by his hard-earned success, Shawn2hot decided that it was time to release his first solo album under his music label.

His album, Volcano Music Vol. 1, is currently the hot topic in the hip-hop world and is awaited by many. It is also predicted that this album will transform the whole panorama of hip hop. It is also likely to establish Volcano Music Group as a household name for music and other business ventures.

Reaching a status like this was not a piece of cake. But Shawn2hot has proven that once you know what you want to achieve, the next step is to get onto it with all your might and strength until your success is in your hands.

Blac Chyna Goes After Judge Who Ruled Against Her In Kardashian Defamation Trial And Loses Again

Blac Chyna has lost a motion to disqualify the judge presiding over her defamation case against the Kardashian-Jenner family after claiming he was “extremely biased.”

According to documents obtained by People, the model filed a motion on Monday in which she indicated plans to appeal the verdict in her $100 million defamation case against the reality TV stars.

Chyna, real name Angela White, originally sued members of the socialite family for allegedly interfering with the E! television network to cancel her show, “Rob & Chyna.” After the trial concluded earlier this month, a jury decided Chyna would not be awarded damages.

In response, the mother-of-two filed a peremptory challenge against original trial judge Gregory W. Alarcon of the Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming he was “undeniably hostile and extremely biased” against her and her attorney Lynne Ciani during the case.

Chyna’s legal teamed also claimed Alarcon’s alleged bias affected multiple aspects of the hearing, including “the jury making key liability verdicts in her favor” and being “denied due process with regard to the jury instructions and special verdict form.”

The Kardashians’ attorney, Michael G. Rhodes, responded to the challenge with a 20-page opposition, recounting that despite Chyna’s supposed issues with the trial’s process, she “nonetheless proceeded without complaint as Judge Alarcon presided over a 10-day trial.”

He continued, “In the days and weeks that followed, (Chyna) and her counsel had ample time to raise her completely misguided allegations about Judge Alarcon’s impartiality and numerous opportunities to brief evidentiary issues, jury instructions, and the special verdict form.”

But Judge Alarcon has once again sided with The Kardashians lawyer. According to the judge, Blac Chyna presented no evidence that he was biased against her during the trial. Furthermore, the trial is over, and if she wanted him off the case, she should have asked for him to recuse himself.

Judge Alarcon suggested Blac Chyna file documents to appeal his decision for him to review.

EXCLUSIVE: Casanova Admits To Shooting Man During Gambling Dispute, Dealing 100 Kilos Of Marijuana; Facing 60 Years In Prison

Casanova was in court today (May 11th), where he admitted to participating in a shooting and other crimes.

Casanova is one of 18 Untouchable Gorilla Stone members charged in a sweeping RICO case in December of 2020.

The Feds accused the gang of dealing drugs, attacking rivals, and killing a 15-year-old boy in Upstate New York.

The Brooklyn rapper, born Caswell Senior, was charged with racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to knowingly and intentionally manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, a controlled substance (crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana), and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Casanova initially pleaded guilty, maintained his innocence, and proclaimed he was being unfairly targeted because of his association with specific individuals and his stature as a famous rapper.

But today, Casanova admitted that he was the triggerman in a July 5th, 2020, shooting at a party in Florida with other gang members. The rapper shot a man over a gambling dispute.

The rap star also admitted to an August 5th, 2018, robbery in Manhattan that caused a woman serious bodily injury while she was being restrained.

In that incident, members of Gorilla Stone were accused of breaking the jaw of a woman named Niya Rucker because she filmed the rapper while he was eating.

According to Rucker, Casanova’s associates beat her, choked her out, cut her, and ultimately broke her jaw as the rapper tried to take her phone to erase the footage.

Casanova also confessed that he conspired to traffic at least 100 kilograms of marijuana while admitting he was a leader in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation.

Cas pled guilty to one count of conspiring to conduct and participate in the conduct of the affairs of a criminal enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity and one count of conspiring to distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

Casanova is the thirteenth defendant to plead guilty.

So far, the Feds have secured guilty pleas from Deshawn “Don” Thomas, Naya “Baby” Austin, Brandon “Untouchable Dot” Nieves, Donavan “Donnie Love” Gillard, Jarrett “Jayecee” Crisler, Dezon “Blakk” Washington, Stephen “Chino” HughJordan “Flow” IngramShanay “Easy” OutlawRoberta “Trouble” Sligh, Brinae “Luxury” Thornton, and Jamal “Trap Smoke” Trent.

“Like twelve of his co-defendants, Caswell Senior, an accomplished recording artist, and performer, now stands convicted of playing a leadership role in Gorilla Stone, a particularly violent Bloods gang that operates throughout New York and across the country. In addition to his supervisory role, Senior was an active, hands-on participant in the gang’s senseless violence, including a shooting in Miami and contributing to a robbery at a Manhattan diner. Dismantling violent gangs and stopping gun violence continues to be one of my highest priorities. Thanks to the dedication of our partners at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Senior now awaits sentencing for his dangerous conduct,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams.

Casanova is facing a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 60 years in prison when he is sentenced on December 6th, 2022.

Young Thug Busted With Sawed-Off Shotgun During Raid

Young Thug faces additional charges following his arrest for racketeering.

According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, Young Thug was hit with multiple drug and gun charges. Authorities found drugs and firearms while raiding his home.

The new charges include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule III, IV or V controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a sawed-off shotgun and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, was arrested as part of a sweeping RICO indictment on Monday (May 9). He was initially charged with conspiring to violate Georgia’s racketeering law and participating in criminal street gang activity.

The YSL Records founder was one of 28 alleged gang members named in a 56-count indictment. Prosecutors accuse Young Thug and YSL members of engaging in criminal gang activity.

Earlier this week, Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel denied the allegations against his client. He proclaimed Young Thug will be cleared of the charges.

“Mr. Williams has committed no violation of law, whatsoever,” Steel said in a statement. “We will fight this case ethically, legally and zealously.”

Multi-platinum selling rapper Gunna was the other notable name indicted in the RICO case. The YSL artist surrendered to authorities on Wednesday (May 11). He was charged with a single count of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act.

Premiere Alert: Tian Boothe Dazzles Us With ‘CP Original’

Although very new to the music scene, Tian Boothe has accomplished so much in a brief period of time than most people do in a lifetime. In 2016 she switched from her Master of Science in Software Engineering to study Cinema Production in Los Angeles. She’s worked with sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, architect Gino Ferrari, fashion designer Inga Nataya, composer Ko-Wei Chen, actors Malcolm David Kelly, Third World Don, Cate Kessler, Amira Harvey, Erika Stasiuleviciute, Journey Christine, Mair Mulroney, Nika Balina and many more.

Tian has been writing the lyrics and script and has just finished her album E. R. Emotional Release which will also be a feature film.

If that’s not enough, Tian lends her own vocals, writing her own songs, which she produces, along with producing her own music videos. In addition, Tian demonstrates her kindness and compassion for others through her actions, volunteering for community service organizations, and assisting in raising funds for various causes.

Tian’s previous release Shattered Dream was definitely one to talk about and never ceases to amaze viewers. Her sound blends pop, indie style R&B, and hints of classical tones.

“CP Original” opens on gleaming synth colors, glowing and radiant, flowing into a delicious R&B melody flavored with the essence of trap/hip-hop. A huge throbbing bassline and tight, crisp instruments drive the contagiously smooth rhythm.

A sparkling beat infuses the tune with delicious textures, as Tian’s silky tones glide overhead, imbuing the lyrics with tantalizing surface colors. The combination of melodic sonority and rap-lite flow gives the tune vibrancy and nuanced sonic shifts.

“It’s my fantasy/ Every kiss / Between you and me”

“CP Original” delivers cool savors of pop, an infectious rhythmic pulse, and alluring breakdowns, all capped by the glossy tones of Tian Boothe.

Jesse Williams Picture Leak Condemned By Angry Co-Star, Fans Of Actor Still Overjoyed

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is “appalled” by the leaked footage of his Take Me Out co-star Jesse Williams naked on stage.

Despite audience members being required to keep devices in sealed cases during the Broadway play, pictures and video of the “Grey’s Anatomy” actor baring all for a full-frontal nude scene circulated on social media on Monday.

The “Modern Family” actor, who stars alongside Williams in the play, condemned the leak on Twitter on Tuesday night.

“I’m appalled by the disrespect shown to the actors of our company whose vulnerability on stage ever night is crucial to ‘Take Me Out.’ Anyone who applauds or trivializes this behavior has no place in the theater which has always been a safe space for artists & audience members,” he wrote, before insisting that the nudity only features in a small portion of the show.

“And truly, if nudity is what you are coming for…you are in for a long boring night. It’s within a challenging 2 and a half hour play with big ideas, beautiful language & remarkable acting from a company of 11 actors that you will have to sit thru as well. You’ll be bored.”

Officials from Second Stage Theater, which produced the revival, also issued a statement about the footage.

“It is deeply unfortunate that one audience member chose to disrespect the production, their fellow audience members, and, most importantly, the cast in this manner,” they stated. “Taking naked pictures of anyone without their consent is highly objectionable and can have severe legal consequences. Posting it on the internet is a gross and unacceptable violation of trust between the actor and audience forged in the theater community.”

They went on to reveal they will be adding additional staff at the Hayes Theater to enforce their phone-free policy and are working to get the nudes taken down.

Jesse Williams has yet to comment on the leak.

He spoke about his nude scene earlier this week, telling talk show host Andy Cohen, “Everybody makes such a big deal. It’s a body. Once you see it, you realize it’s whatever… I just have to not make it that big of a deal.”

Williams, Ferguson, and their co-star Michael Oberholtzer were nominated for Tony Awards for their performances on Monday.

Dave Chappelle Attacker Too Dangerous To Be Released

The man accused of attacking Dave Chappelle onstage has pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges, but a judge is refusing to release him.

Isaiah Lee allegedly ran onto the stage and tackled Chappelle to the floor during the comedian’s “Netflix Is A Joke” set at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last week.

Los Angeles Police Department investigators have alleged Lee was carrying a “replica handgun with a knife blade inside” at the time of the incident.

Lee appeared in court for the first time last week and entered a not guilty plea concerning the charges of battery, possession of a weapon with intent to assault, unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance, and commission of an act that delays an event or interferes with a performer.

He is currently being held on $30,000 bail.

Yesterday (May 10th), Lee’s lawyer asked his client to be released on his own recognizance, but a judge denied his request to be released to house arrest and electronic monitoring.

Lee will stay locked up until his pre-trial date of May 20th. He remains in jail on bail and has been ordered to stay 100 yards (91 meters) from Chappelle if released.

If convicted, Lee could face up to 18 months in county jail and/or up to $4,000 in fines.

In the days after the incident, Chappelle’s representative insisted he didn’t want the attack to “overshadow the magic” of the comedy event.

“The performances by Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl were epic and record-breaking, and he refuses to allow last night’s incident to overshadow the magic of this historic moment,” his representative said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Dave Chappelle celebrated four nights of comedy and music, setting record-breaking sales for a comedian at the Hollywood Bowl. This run ties Chappelle with Monty Python for the most headlined shows by any comedian at the Hollywood Bowl, reaching 70,000 fans of diverse backgrounds during the first Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival.”

R. Kelly “Staring Down The Barrel” Of A Life Sentence Says His Lawyer

Disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly will be going back to trial to face charges connected to inappropriate sexual conduct with girls (and possibly guys).

The Grammy award-winner, who is already serving time in New York, will return to his hometown of Chicago, where a federal court will determine his fate.

According to Radar Online, a date has been set for August 1st, 2022, for Robert Kelly’s federal sex crimes, child pornography, and obstruction of justice trial, which could get him life in prison.

The artist’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean had asked U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber to extend him a three-month delay in the legal proceedings, but that request was denied.

Bonjean, the attorney who also represented Bill Cosby and helped him return home on a technicality, received the denial on Tuesday, May 10th, during a telephone conference.

The delay request centered around the legal team being unprepared. The lawyer said she and her team have an “exorbitant amount of material to digest” in order to be ready. Bonjean also tried to express the urgency of the request, saying the man’s life was on the line.

In a Fox News interview, she said R. Kelly was “looking down the barrel of a life sentence.”

The judge didn’t go for her reasoning, saying, “The problem is, this case has been delayed time and time again.”

“This case is going to have to go to trial.”

Bonjean reportedly has another request still before Leinenweber. She filed a motion to have the judge drop multiple pending charges against the singer. The judge has not moved on that motion as of publishing.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, R. Kelly is currently serving time after a New York federal court convicted him on nine counts of racketeering charges and violations of the Mann Act.

He is still awaiting sentencing for the charges in New York.

This story is developing.

Black Thought And Danger Mouse Create A Funky Classic

With Kendrick Lamar dominating the music talk, we must be reminded that there are other geniuses! The griot known as Black Thought is still spitting those bars that we love him for and, with Danger Mouse on the track, your computer may spontaneously combust. Check out “No Gold Teeth” and let us know what you think in the comments.

Why They Are Saying Gunna Will Snitch!

I admit. I do not follow Gunna closely. So, there’s this thing: when he was younger, he was a part of a “Crime Stoppers” segment. It seemed like he was advocating for those that snitch. There are some dudes talking over it so it makes it hard to hear. But if you listen, that is basically what is happening.

And then there is this acting moment where he does snitch as a character!

What is this from? He said, “Get Me Some MAC DONALD’S.” Oscar worthy!

Real life is a bit different. Peep his mug shot.

Wack100 Replies To J. Prince With Receipts

Wack100 And J Prince Go At It Online!

It looks like we have a real Mexican standoff. Wack100 had some unscrupulous dealings, according to J Prince. J Prince maintains that a lady conducted an interview with the infamous Larry Hoover. This interview was supposed to go to the family or some other place, but somehow it got over to Wack100. Anyway, I do not know what is being said in the interview, but the current efforts seem to be pointing towards monetization. They want to sell the interview to someone else.

Now, after a lot of back and forth, Wack100 has decided to unearth text conversations that say Wack has worked with J. Prince on this matter. ButI need you all to look at this video and tell me what you make of it.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Dinero Jones (@wack100)

I would assume that, because we don’t hear from Larry Hoover often, this interview is valuable. I don’t know but the texts seem to say that the interview will lead to TV and Film opportunities. My assumption is also that it will create money for the Hoover family. Also, the narrative. We have not really seen the story of Larry Hoover told in the form of a movie or TV series. The narrative is important if they are looking to push for freedom.

All money ain’t good money!

Wack responded before, basically yelling at somebody we do not yell at. He is a loud boisterous guy that doesn’t bite his tongue for anyone, including J Prince. What will happen next is anyone’s guess I do not think that J Prince will continue to tongue wrestle with Wack because he feels he’s law enforcement. But more importantly, this interview. What is it about this interview that is creating such a fervor?

I have to be honest I am tired of all the fighting and disagreements and Beef within the Hip-Hop community. It seems like there’s nothing but chaos and confusion. I would love to get back to the music. We just saw Kendrick Lamar drop incredible visuals and an amazing song. And one day later, all this crap happens. Let’s get back to the music y’all!

Gunna Officially Surrenders To Authorities For RICO Charge

The number one news story in Hip Hop this week involves Young Thug and Gunna. The two YSL recording artists, and around two dozen other individuals, have been arrested in Fulton County, Georgia.

Young Thug (born Jeffery Lamar Williams) is facing multiple counts connected to a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) case. Gunna has been officially arrested on RICO charges as well.

According to the Fulton County jail records, authorities charged Gunna (born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens) with one count of Conspiracy to Violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office booked the “Drip Too Hard” rapper on May 11.

Gunna’s RICO charge is connected to an alleged incident that took place in January 2013. Some of Young Thug’s charges also date back to 2013 as well as 2018. However, the YSL boss is presently facing gang-related charges from 2022 as well.

Fulton County accused Young Thug of street gang affiliation, being involved in illegal drug distribution, and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. At the moment, Thugger has nine charges filed against him.

“As the District Attorney of Fulton County my number one focus is targeting gangs, and there’s a reason for that, they are committing conservatively 75% to 80% of all of the violent crime that we are seeing within our community and so they have to be rooted out of our community,” said Fulton County DA Fani Willis at a press conference.

Brian Steel, Young Thug’s attorney, vows to successfully defend his client. The lawyer stated, “I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever, and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.”

Gunna released his DS4Ever studio LP in January. The YSL Records-backed project debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 150,000 first-week units. Gunna also reached the peak of the Billboard 200 with 2020’s Wunna.

Gillie Da King Calls Lil Durk The New Jay-Z

Is Chicago’s Lil Durk this era’s Jay-Z (aka Hov)? Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast host Gillie Da King believes that answer is yes.

Gillie Da King appeared on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper show. A clip from the episode about Lil Durk went viral on social media this week.

“You know who the new Hov is – ‘I’m Durkio, but I’m Chicago JAY-Z,'” Gillie told Raquel Harper. “To the young street n#####, yes. Because Hov was about being a hustler, getting some money.”

Lil Durk also agrees with Gillie Da King’s opinion. The 29-year-old Only The Family leader previously declared himself his city’s version of The Blueprint album creator.

Lil Durk tripled down on that take last week. He wrote on Instagram, “I did some in Chicago nobody ever did for the artist and the city we was a family in there the opp word ain’t matter last night 💙 – Chicago JAY-Z.”

Suspect OTB Drops “Brick By Brick” Video & Stephen Mee NFT Collaboration

Suspect OTB launched his new single “Brick By Brick,” as an innovative NFT collaboration with artist Stephen Mee.

Mee began a life of crime aged nine and received a 30 sentence for smuggling cocaine in 1996 . While serving a 16-year prison stint, he returned to his love of art. When released, he used his time behind bars as the inspiration behind an immersive art installation and his transition into the metaverse.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CcCufIWo_3t/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

The artist’s collaboration with the U.K rapper in conjunction with 9 Protocol features 277 virtual bricks from Stephen’s recent immersive installation “Release Mee.” The collectible NFT token accompanies the new single from Suspect OTB, “Brick By Brick,” and also includes a video documenting the launch.

The bricks, available now as an NFT, are a digital recreation of the bricks used in Mee’s exhibition at the Oxo Tower in London. The immersive installation featured 640 hempcrete bricks modeled after Mee’s former 6×6 prison cell. Blockchain technology allows NFT holders to gain music royalties to Suspect’s music.

Suspect OTB On “Reimagining” The Idea Of Bricks

Mee and Suspect share a mutual understanding of the brick concept, positively flipping the obvious connotation into art and music.

“The song is about reimagining the meaning of the bricks that are now being represented as NFTs” Suspect OTB noted in a press release. “And building the foundations for Stephen and I to connect others creating art in this digital world.”

“Taking the bricks that formed my prison cell into the digital space as NFTs represents the idea of rebuilding a life in the metaverse. A place to create something new,” added Mee.

The “Release Mee” NFT drop is available now through 9 Protocol. Check out the video featuring Suspect OTB and Stephen Mee below and their short film here.

Meanwhile, a new Suspect album is on the way, due later this year. The rapper is back in the studio, and while details on the project are scarce, previous features include the likes of Giggs, Skepta, Ghetts, Potter Payper, and more.

Dr. Dre Donates $10 Million To Compton High School’s New Performing Arts Center

Dr. Dre is giving back to his community after pledging $10 million for a new performing arts center at the high school in his hometown of Compton.

His contribution goes towards a new $200-million campus for Compton High School. The Los Angeles Times reports the rapper/producer pledged the $10 million for a new 900-person capacity performing arts center at the school. The facility will be named the “Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young” Performing Arts Centre,” in his honor.

Dr. Dre attended the school’s groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday (May 7) and talked about the importance of funding the arts.

Dr. Dre On The Importance Of Funding The Arts

“I was an artistic kid in school with no outlet for it. I knew I had something special to offer to the world, but with nothing to support my gift, schools left me feeling unseen…This city is special, and [the] young people living in it are special.”

Dr. Dre continued, “I’ve always wondered how much further ahead I might have been had the resources I needed in school were available. If I had learned more about the business industry, I would have saved myself [an] extreme amount of time, money and most importantly, [made] a lot of friendships.”

The new Compton High School campus will serve up to 1,800 students, with the possibility of facilitating a further 450. A new academic building, gym, aquatics center, football stadium, and track are all part of the new project.

Meanwhile, the school’s principal, Rigoberto Roman said, “This new campus that will be erected, it will be erected upon deep roots and outstanding accomplishments that have been established over decades. DaBaby Responds To DaniLeigh’s Diss Track: “Tell Them Folks The Real Reason Why I Put You Out”

DaBaby had some words of advice for the mother of his daughter, DaniLeigh, after she dropped a diss track and opened up about their relationship during a recent interview.

“I was gon respond a different way, but I gathered myself and I decided to respond this way,” DaBaby shared in a video posted to his IG story. “Um, first of all, I feel like you waited too late. I told you back in December you should capitalize off the situation,” he continued. “I feel like that’s a bad move. It’s a green move for y’know, your label to have you drop the interview the same time you dropping a new song. I feel like yall should have put that together better,” he added.

DaBaby then claimed DaniLeigh was “getting busy” with him “at the London that whole week” before the bowling alley incident with her brother. He then alleged that they stopped living together because she was harassing the mother of his oldest child.

“I feel like you should tell them, folks, the real reason why I put you out. It’s ‘cause you were stalking my other baby mama, and that s### was affecting, you know, the relationship with my princess, my big girl.”

Prosecutors Using Young Thug Lyrics & Social Media Posts Against Him In RICO Case

Prosecutors are using Young Thug lyrics against the rapper in his racketeering case.

Thugger is among the 28 YSL rappers named as defendants in a 56-count RICO indictment following his arrest on Monday (May 9). According to the indictment, Young Thug is accused of acting as an accomplice to murder. The charges against him include Conspiracy to Violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity. Gunna is also named in the case.

The indictment stems from a long-running feud between the YSL gang and the rival YFN crew, both connected to the Bloods.

Young Thug Lyrics Cited In Indictment

A Rolling Stone report revealed prosecutors are using the rapper’s lyrics and social media interactions to paint him as a violent gang figure. Lyrics from a total of nine Young Thug songs were listed in the indictment. The most recent song was last year’s Young Thug/Gunna collaboration “Ski” and the earliest being 2014’s “Eww.”

Other Young Thug lyrics listed in the indictment include Young Thug’s 2018 collaboration with Nicki Minaj “Anybody” (“I never killed anybody but I got something to do with that body”); 2018’s “Just How It Is” (“Gave the lawyer close to two mil, he handles all the killings”); and 2020’s “Take It to Trial” (“For slimes you know I kill, trial, I done beat it twice, state, I’m undefeated like feds came and snatched me”).

Prosecutors allege that Thugger’s raps constituted “an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.” Social media posts by Young Thug and other YSL members also carried the same allegation.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis answered questions about the use of music and lyrics in the indictment at a press conference.

“This issue’s been ruled on by the courts — I knew that that question was coming, she said. I believe in the first amendment, it’s one of our most precious rights. However, the first amendment does not protect people from prosecutors using it as evidence if it is such. In this case, we put it as overt and predicate acts within the RICO count, because we believe that’s exactly what it is.”

Steel also added, “I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever, and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.”
