Wale Crowns Doja Cat “One Of The Best Rappers Out, Male Or Female”

Doja Cat has smashed the first quarter of 2022, winning a Grammy, putting out dope music, and rocking the Coachella stage in inimitable style.

While the Planet Her artist may have considered an early exit from her music career earlier this year, her contemporaries are full of praise. After Nicki Minaj congratulated her for a well-deserved Grammy win, Wale is the latest to give Doja Cat her flowers.

“Doja cat one of the best rappers out male or female alien or otherwise,” Wale tweeted on Monday (Apr. 18), a day after Doja’s electrifying Coachella performance.

The D.C. native continued, “Anybody that raps for real .. can listen to her raps and can clearly see she is a rapper. I’m just now finding out there was a debate,” he added.

Remy Ma Weighs In

Many Hip-Hop fans refuse to consider Doja Cat as a rapper, with a section labeling her a pop artist instead. Remy Ma recently gave her take on the debate stating that while Doja makes “dope records,” she’s not a rap artist.

“I don’t think she’s a rapper,” Remy said on Drink Champs last month. “Let’s be clear with that. [The Grammy committee] put her in the rapper category, and I don’t think she’s a rapper. But she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

However, Wale was firm in his defense of Doja Cat. “I’ll just say this,” he added. “I’ve been doin this thing for a minute now .. when that girl drops somethin on one of these “rap” beats ?? You gon see.”

When one responder disagreed, saying her music is pop rather than rap, Wale was swift to reply. “Stop callin her a rapper. She is a pop artist,” the user replied. Wale fired back, “Both can be true ,” he said. “My ears work .”

Doja Cat Says “I’m A Rapper”

Meanwhile, Doja Cat addressed the claims herself when she was nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards. The decision sparked an outcry, with many calling her a pop star.

“I’m a rapper!” she told radio host Big Boy in June 2021. “It doesn’t matter! And I don’t care what anybody says, you know what I mean? I know who I am.”

Kaalan Walker Found Guilty Of Raping Multiple Women

Kaalan Walker has been found guilty of multiple rapes commited between 2013 and late 2018.

According to reports, the “Superfly” actor sobbed in court as he was found guilty of raping six women and sexually assaulting another in court in Los Angeles on Monday (Apr. 18). Three of the rape victims are said to be 16-year-old-aspiring models. The jury delivered a split decision after a six-week trial.

He was acquitted of other charges, including two of forcible rape, related to three of the ten victims in the case. Prosecutors say a total of more than 30 women made assault claims against Kaalan Walker. He has denied the allegations against him.

“I didn’t rape anybody, your honor. I did not rape anybody,” Walker said as he was taken from court in handcuffs. His legal team immediately vowed to appeal the decision.

Kaalan Walker was called a “serial rapist” by the prosecution last week. They claimed he used Drake’s name and his own status as a minor celebrity to appeal to his victims.

“We feel that with this verdict, the jury gave these victims back their voices,” Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Wallace told Rolling Stone. “This was very sophisticated. He picked these girls and he appealed to their dreams and hopes and name-dropped Drake and used his connection to Halle Berry to get these girls somewhere and gain their trust. Once they were there, it wasn’t about doing photo shoots, it was about assaulting them.”

Walker faces up to 100 years to life when he returns for sentencing.

Kris Jenner Opens Up About Her Daughter Kim Kardashian, Her Divorce From Kanye West And New Love, Pete Davidson

Kris Jenner has opened up about filming “The Kardashians” amidst Kim Kardashian’s split from Kanye West.

In an interview for Australia’s The Daily Telegraph published on Saturday, the Kardashian matriarch revealed how she handled her daughter’s divorce from the rapper.

“It’s very fresh and new to us, too,” she said before explaining how the breakup will affect the family’s new reality TV series. “We haven’t been filming all that long. As with all the relationships in my family, we try to be as transparent as we can.”

Referencing Kim’s previous comments that her new partner Pete Davidson would not appear in the show’s first season, Kris said, “I think there are a lot of things that happen where we all do have definite boundaries as to what we share about someone else because it is their privacy as well. So, you really do have to consider who else is in the picture and who we’re talking about.”

Kim, 41, filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 and was declared legally single last month. She started dating Pete last October after meeting him on the set of Saturday Night Live.

On a personal level, Kris insisted that all of her children support Kim’s decisions.

“When any one of us is going through something big in our lives, it’s really important for us to understand they’re not always going to have a lot of other people who are going to understand the situation. So we try to be there for her (Kim) and pay attention to what’s going on,” the 66-year-old added. “We all spend a lot of our time together. I know she feels, and she knows, that she has the support of her entire family.”

“The Kardashians” is now streaming on Hulu.

“They need some alpha males over there,” Master P said. “Can’t get nothing bigger than me. If you want to win, bring me in.”

“I’ll bring some hell of assistant coaches with me. Shaq, John Lucas. I don’t know if Shaq wants to do that, but if he do, we can take over. I can’t see another team like that.”

No word from the Lakers organization if they are interested in his services.

Macklemore Teams With Marshawn Lynch To Become Minority Owners Of NHL Team

Macklemore and Marshawn Lynch joined the ownership group of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.

The two disclosed their new roles as minority owners of Seattle’s hockey team on Monday (April 18). Macklemore and Lynch linked up with the Kraken as the franchise nears the end of its first season in the NHL.

“I have so much love for our city,” Macklemore wrote on Instagram. “The Seattle teams that we root for bring our community together and unify the people. In many ways our franchises defined my childhood to the present. We rep our teams like no other city. To witness the energy around @seattlekraken in our inaugural season blew me away. Selling out an entire first year in a brand new arena already set the tone of the legacy that is being created.”

He continued, “I’m just grateful to be apart of history. Grateful to usher in a new generation of sports fan and memories that will be made. I was a kid sneaking into the nosebleeds who made it to the owners suite….And Marshawn’s in here too?! We just getting started.”

Macklemore, a Seattle native, and Lynch invested in an ownership group led by billionaire David Bonderman. Lynch’s involvement in the Kraken deepens his ties to Seattle, where he spent the majority of his NFL career.

As I look back on some of my accomplishments- I retired before I was 30 and now being an owner of a professional club at the age of 35.”

Lynch added, “I’m gonna continue to count my blessings…being a part of the #SeattleKraken is something big for me it gives me another chance to get a ring after helping bring the first NFL one to the city. And if you thought I was goin somewhere, nah Seattle, I’m here! Stand up!!!!”

Tekashi 69 And Hassan Campbell Get Testy Over Snitch Talk

I don’t know why I am writing this right now!

I can’t stand the game sometimes, but this is where we are. And YES, Vince Staples, this is a stupid a$$ GAME. These guys need to go out for the circe. Tekashi 69, Wack 100, Akadmiks and Hassan Campbell go in a bar…

Sounds like a joke, right? Nope.

This is the latest podcast that these guys have wrangled and put out. I saw where they were talking about it. I knew it was coming, but I did not realize how devolved it would actually be. Well, they got on the topic of snitching. I do not know why, but Hassan decided to get into a debate about it with 69, who is a snitch.

And Wack100 acted as a very good mediator.

At any way, why would a non-snitch dude argue with a snitch dude. And then 69 brought up Nipsey like that meant anything at all. So weird!

Check this out!

Mac Miller’s Drug Dealer Sentenced To More Than 10 Years In Prison

A judge sentenced a drug dealer to over a decade behind bars for his role in the overdose death of Mac Miller.

According to multiple reports, U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II sentenced Ryan Michael Reavis to 131 months in federal prison. Last year, Reavis pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl.

Reavis was one of three men charged in connection to Mac Miller’s death. Stephen Andrew Walter also pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl and awaits sentencing. The case against a third man named Cameron James Pettit is still pending.

Prosecutors wanted Reavis to be sentenced to more than 12 years in prison. Reavis asked for a five-year sentence. The judge settled on just under 11 years.

Reavis addressed the court at his sentencing. He claimed he didn’t know the counterfeit, fentanyl-laced oxycodone he distributed caused Mac Miller’s death until his arrest in 2019.

“This is not just a regular drug case,” Reavis said. “Somebody died, and a family is never going to get their son back. My family would be wrecked if it was me. They’d never be all right, never truly get over it.”

He continued, “I think about that all the time. And I know that whatever happens today, I’m the lucky one because my family is here and I’m here and I’ll be with them again. I feel terrible. This is not who I am. My perspective has changed. My heart has changed.”

Mac Miller died from an accidental overdose in 2018. He was 26.

“I’m always creating a masterpiece,” he explained. “And in the creation of that in terms of a painting, you end up telling people while they waiting on it, ‘It’s almost dry,’ because they’re always asking, ‘When will it be done?’ And you have to wait on masterpieces. Also in drug culture, a lot of times you’ll have people waiting on the product and it’s not dry yet. You can come get it when it’s dry.”

It’s Almost Dry will be Pusha T’s first album since 2018’s DAYTONA. The Clipse member is promoting his new LP with a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (April 21).

Omeretta The Great is having a standout year, and it’s only going up from here. You may have seen her name all over the news and on TMZ, or heard of her after she went viral for her latest single, “Sorry Not Sorry.” The record calls out everyone in the entertainment industry who claims they’re from Atlanta when they’re really not. In fact, she even had Mulatto and T.I. chime in on the matter.

With both the song and video taking off, with the latter boasting nearly two million views on Youtube and counting, Omeretta had to keep her name relevant: tapping Mulatto for the highly-anticipated remix. The “Sorry Not Sorry” remix sees both female MCs trading verses, calling out all the greats from Atlanta and the surrounding counties.

Boasting 1.7 million followers on Instagram alone, Omeretta has been keeping fans at the edge of their seats as they wait patiently for new music. Her previous release was “Sorry For The Wait,” reminding audiences all around the world that she’s back with a vengeance!

AllHipHop: How have you been since the last time we chatted?

Omeretta The Great: Busy to death. [laughs] I’ve been doing a lot of running around.

AllHipHop: “Sorry Not Sorry” remix with Mulatto out now! How are you feeling?

Omeretta The Great: It feels good. It was a lot of good feedback on it. Everybody liked her verse.

AllHipHop: I think it’s crazy that she calls out everyone.

Omeretta The Great: [laughs] She didn’t call them out like a diss though. Ciara had posted it. That was fire! That was hard.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite line from Mulatto’s verse?

Omeretta The Great: My favorite part was when she says “only reason a n*gga wish they wasn’t from here to get away from Victor Hill.” That part,

AllHipHop: Do y’all got more music coming?

Omeretta The Great: Of course.

AllHipHop: Have you guys shot the music video yet?

Omeretta The Great: Nah. We’re not shooting a music video right now because she had to get ready for her album. She didn’t have time.

AllHipHop: How was it hearing your song at Mercedes-Benz stadium?

Omeretta The Great: At the soccer game? It was fire, I was there. I was scared. [laughs] I’m shy, so I was scared.

AllHipHop: How do you get over your nerves?

Omeretta The Great: It depends, If it’s a situation like that, I don’t get over it until I get done doing what I’m doing. But if I’m doing a show and I’m performing, the crowd usually calms down. But nobody knows me, I feel like everybody’s watching and judging my every movement.

AllHipHop: How’s it been moving around? Have you gotten more attention?

Omeretta The Great: I haven’t been out like that since my song dropped, because people be trippin’. I’ve really been ordering a lot of stuff online. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Do you miss LA at all?

Omeretta The Great: Mmhmm. I don’t know, I just love down South. I be homesick everytime I go to LA or New York. I be ready to get back to Atlanta. I like Miami though. Miami’s lit.

AllHipHop: What can the fans expect music-wise?

Omeretta The Great: I know I’m supposed to be dropping music right now, but I’m stuck because I don’t know what to drop. It’s a lot of pressure. They’re like “the song better be fire!” I’m trying to see if I should drop a single or a project. Everything’s ready, I just don’t know what to put out. I have 3 songs that are hits, but damn which one should I drop first? Because they’re putting a lot of pressure on me.

AllHipHop: Do you tease snippets? I’m sure your fans will tell you which one they like.

Omeretta The Great: I stopped wanting to do snippets because if I put a snippet out there, and the song that I put snippet out for is not ready, the snippet will just be circulating throughout the internet. By the time the song gets here, they would have already burnt it out. It won’t hit the same: if I put out a snippet then the next day drop the song. But if I sit on it…

AllHipHop: You have such a good momentum right now though, that whatever you drop will be fire.

Omeretta The Great: That’s what everyone keeps saying, so I need to go ahead and drop something. I just don’t know. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Are all of your next songs straight rap?

Omeretta The Great: Mm-mm. [shakes head] I have a lot R&B songs. I have songs kind of like Rod Wave, you know little vibes. I have a lot of laidback songs. See I got a lot of music, I just don’t know which direction to go in first.

AllHipHop: Do you listen to Rod Wave?

Omeretta The Great: Yeah I love Rod Wave fasho.

AllHipHop: Who else do you listen to?

Omeretta The Great: I listen to SLIMELIFE SHAWTY. I listen to FN da Dealer, he’s from Atlanta.

AllHipHop: What’s your writing process like?

Omeretta The Great: I gotta write at home. When I am in the studio, I feel like I’m on a time crunch. If I have a 6-hour block, I feel like I’m on a time crunch. I gotta hurry up, do this or do that. When I’m at home, I can just vibe. I’ll write something real fire.

AllHipHop: 3 things you need in studio ?

Omeretta The Great: My water, something for my lips, and my phone.

AllHipHop: What inspires you the most?

Omeretta The Great: The beat is what pulls everything out of me . It doesn’t matter how I’m feeling. If I can’t find the perfect beat to get my emotions out, I’ll sit on It until I find a beat. The lyrics already be there, I just have to put them on there. I like beats that talk to me for real. If I listen to a beat that’s alright, I’m a make an alright song.

AllHipHop: Which producer are you working with?

Omeretta The Great: Right now, I’m working With Mike Will. We got some crazy s### on the way, it’s crazy. We tapped in last year and we’ve just been working.

AllHipHop: What’s the vibe in the studio with him? That’s a legend, he has bangers for days.

Omeretta The Great: He asks me everytime I come in there: “how you feeling O? How you feeling? “I say the same thing every time, “I’m chillin’.” [laughs] He’ll just start playing music. I’ll pick one, then he’ll go in the back and I’ll go in the booth. I’ll make the engineer put his headphones on so nobody hears me. When I’m done, I come out and they’ll turn it all the way up. He’ll come from out the back like “yeah.”

AllHipHop: Are the 3 singles you’re debating between, produced by Mike Will?

Omeretta The Great: One of them.

AllHipHop: That’s gotta be the one sis!

Omeretta The Great: [laughs] That is at the top of my list! He told me I was the next big thing out of Atlanta.

AllHipHop: What did you say?

Omeretta The Great: I smiled. I’m always smiling.

AllHipHop: I know you have some crazy shows coming up. Are you excited?

Omeretta The Great: Yes I have a show with Kodak Black. He’s doing a show and I’ll be opening. Then you know he’s a Gemini, so it’s a lit. I’m the Gemini of Gemini’s. [laughs]

AllHipHop: A lot of people have been doing the “Super Gremlin” freestyle, have you thought about hopping on that beat?

Omeretta The Great: I did. I shot two videos for it, but I didn’t like any of them. That’s the only reason I haven’t dropped the s###. I keep listening to it like it’s too hard to keep it in my phone. I’ll probably shoot a third video for it and pray that it will be the one I like.

AllHipHop: Are you a perfectionist?

Omeretta The Great: Yeah. [laughs] It’s sick.

AllHipHop: What are you most excited about opening for Kodak?

Omeretta The Great: The crowd, him being there. It’s a good lineup. We got NoCap, me, Tay Money. It’s pretty good lineup so it’s gonna be lit. I wanna see vibes. I wanna see how it is.

AllHipHop: How does it feel to be on the same bill as Mary J. Blige?

Omeretta The Great: Yeah that’s gonna be lit too. I think it’s sold out.

AllHipHop: Are you going to preview any new songs or just perform your older records?

Omeretta The Great: I might. I ain’t gon’ lie, I might. We were actually talking about one of the songs that I’m debating on releasing, and seeing how the crowd picks up on it.

AllHipHop: People are asking for Omeretta x Coi Leray collab.

Omeretta The Great: Oh yeah, that’s gone be fire. I know it’s gon’ happen. I’m not the type of person, I don’t be putting pressure on features because it’s supposed to be a vibe and not forced. I know we’ll run into each other like “let’s do it!”

AllHipHop: Any features tucked in the vault?

Omeretta The Great: Yeah, it’s so funny because I have a lot of features. I have a lot of music and I need to release it. That’s what I need to do, just get it out.

AllHipHop: How many tracks are on your project?

Omeretta The Great: It depends because if I drop a mixtape, it’ll be 13 songs. If I drop an EP, it’ll be 6 songs. I was also thinking about doing a super mini-project, trying to see how that is. I have a lot of options to weigh, I’m being real indecisive right now.

AllHipHop: Do you see your fans asking you for new music?

Omeretta The Great: It’s so crazy because sometimes I forget I’m a real artist. Sometimes I think “damn if I had a favorite artist and they didn’t drop a project for 3 years, I’d be so mad.” [laughs]

AllHipHop: What do you like to do when you are not doing music?

Omeretta The Great: Lay down and sleep, I be trying to rest. Shop, I love to shop. I love clothes, I love fashion. I’m in love with fashion.

AllHipHop: Where do you shop?

Omeretta The Great: I shop online all the time. My favorite store is Dolls Kill. I’m literally almost about to buy the whole site. [laughs] They’re so cute! Everything’s so stylish, I love it.

AllHipHop: You’d be a great model for them, we gotta manifest that.

Omeretta The Great: Period.

AllHipHop: Do you have any fashion influences?

Omeretta The Great: Rihanna.

AllHipHop: What are you most excited for next?

Omeretta The Great: I’m excited to start dropping my music. That’s my number one thing, I just want to drop so bad. I want to get it out there. I don’t want to keep sitting on it. Because “Sorry Not Sorry,” even though that was perfect timing, I still sat on it for a whole year. I have so many songs that I don’t know what they could do for me, I’m just sitting on them. I know for a fact that it’s a lot of hits. That’s a fact, I have no doubt in my heart about it. It’s the rollout that keeps me like bruh, I don’t know how I’m gonna do this. I just have to stop doubting myself.

The post has since been deleted.

Officials for Coachella have not yet commented on the report.

The rapper, real name Sean Anderson, is due to take the stage at the festival in Indio, California, again on April 22nd.

DaBaby’s Bowling Alley Brawl Case Stalls

Back in February, footage of DaBaby and his crew attacking DaniLeigh’s brother, Brandon “Bill$” Curiel, spread across the internet. Reports suggested police officers began investigating the violent incident that took place at a Los Angeles-area bowling alley.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials have hit a snag in the case at the moment. Apparently, Brandon Bill$ decided not to assist with the assault investigation.

The celebrity news website claims despite the fact the brawl was filmed, investigators are finding it difficult to move forward with the case without cooperation from the alleged victim. The investigation is said to be active.

Jonathan “DaBaby” Kirk and Danielle “DaniLeigh” Curiel have a child together. Over the last several months, both recording artists faced accusations of physical abuse against each other. Brandon Bill$ also claimed DaBaby assaulted his sister before challenging him to a charity boxing match.

Last November, Charlotte, North Carolina officials charged DaniLeigh with two counts of simple assault after DaBaby called the authorities during an alleged domestic dispute. However, DaBaby stated he did not want to press charges against the mother of his child.

While Brandon Bill$ apparently refuses to work with Los Angeles County officers, the 29-year-old “BUM BUM” performer did sue DaBaby. Bill$ wants compensation for medical bills costs and emotional distress. DaBaby’s attorney, Drew Findling, called the lawsuit a “quick money grab.”

Meanwhile, DaBaby dropped his latest body of work on March 4. The Better than You collaborative mixtape with YoungBoy Never Broke Again peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 chart. DaBaby insisted Better than You is the best joint project since Jay-Z and Kanye West’s classic Watch The Throne.

Fivio Foreign Touts Chart Success To Shade 6ix9ine

Who is the current King of New York? Two rhymers from the same borough – Fivio Foreign and Tekashi 6ix9ine – are attempting to lay claim to that title.

6ix9ine recently took aim at Fivio Foreign as the Brooklyn Drill rapper promoted his debut studio album titled B.I.B.L.E. The controversial entertainer-turned-government witness referred to Fivio as Nicki Minaj and Kanye West’s sidekick.

Things escalated from there with Tekashi even making jokes about Fivio Foreign’s friend, Tahjay “TDott Woo” Dobson, being murdered. It appears Fivio feels like he got the last laugh because of B.I.B.L.E.’s placement on the Billboard 200 chart.

“My Debut Album is #9 [on Billboard]. That’s in the whole world. From where I came from that’s a win 🏆,” tweeted Fivio Foreign on Sunday. B.I.B.L.E. debuted this week at #9 on the Billboard 200 with 29,000 first-week units.

Fivio Foreign had more to say about B.I.B.L.E.’s chart success. The “City of Gods” performer also took a not-so-subtle shot at 6ix9ine on Instagram while pointing out that several of his songs are doing well on Apple Music’s NYC chart.

“😂😂😂😂😂And this is why I don’t respond to these lame-ass weirdo clout [chasing] n#####. [You] could buy [YouTube views] but you [can’t] buy chart positions,” posted Fivio Foreign on his Instagram Story.

He continued, “Everything this kid [has] ever said has been [a] lie and everything [else] is [gonna be] a lie. I apologize to the real 1’s out there [that’s] mad I’m entertaining this s### but fans must [know]. What’s really [going] on in NY👑🗽.”

Both Fivio Foreign & 6ix9ine Have Songs On Apple Music Charts

As of press time, Fivio Foreign’s “What’s My Name” featuring Queen Naija and Coi Leray sits at #2 on Apple Music’s Top 25: New York City daily rankings. “City of Gods” with Kanye West and Alicia Keys (#5), “For Nothin” (#8), and “World Watching” with Lil Tjay and Yung Bleu (#11) are also listed on the NYC-focused chart.

In contrast, 6ix9ine’s new track “Giné” presently places at #13 among the Top 25 songs on Apple Music’s New York City chart. Plus, “What’s My Name” and “City of Gods” hold the #31 and #47 spots, respectively, on the streamer’s daily Top 100: USA chart while “Giné” sits at #86.

B.I.B.L.E. is Fivio Foreign’s first Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200. 6ix9ine has three Top Tenners – 2018’s Day69 (#4), 2018’s Dummy Boy (#2), and 2020’s Tattletales (#4). The latter project brought in a lower-than-expected 53,000 first-week units before falling off the Billboard 200 after just three weeks.

Lil Durk’s ‘7220’ Jumps Back To No. 1 On The Albums Chart

Once again, Lil Durk has the most commercially successful album in America. The Chicago-bred rapper’s 7220 returned to #1 on the latest Billboard 200 chart.

7220 brought in an additional 47,000 equivalent album units during the latest tracking period. Lil Durk’s seventh studio LP managed to barely hold off Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (46,500 units) in order to retake the pole position.

Country singer Morgan Wallen appears on the 7220 single “Broadway Girls” which peaked at #1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and other rap-centered charts. The project also features rappers Future and Gunna as well as R&B performer Summer Walker.

Around 46,000 of the 47,000 units for 7220 this week came from streaming platforms. The Only The Family/Alamo Records/Sony Music Entertainment release collected 69 million on-demand streams over the seven-day stretch.

Back in March, Lil Durk earned his first solo Number One on the Billboard 200 when 7220 topped the rankings. Previously, the Hop Hop star also made it to No. 1 thanks to The Voice of the Heroes collaborative album with Atlanta’s Lil Baby.

Additionally, Lil Durk rose to the pinnacle of the Artist 100 chart in March. Billboard classified Durk as the most popular music act in the country during that period because he led that particular tally.

Elsewhere on the most recent Billboard 200, 42 Dugg and EST Gee’s Last Ones Left opened at #7 with 30,000 first-week units. Fivio Foreign’s B.I.B.L.E. came in at #9 with 29,000 first-week units. Drake’s Certified Lover Boy (#6) and Doja Cat’s Planet Her (#8) remained in the Top 10 for another week.
