Drake was a long-time friend of Abloh and often shouted him out in his music. He designed Drizzy’s $185 Million Patek watch referenced in the track “Life Is Good.”

Drake famously uses his ink to honor the artists he respects and admires. A portrait of Lil Wayne is displayed on his upper arm while British singer Sade features twice on his torso. Aaliyah’s stunning visage and a young Michael Jackson are included among the faces tattooed on his back. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant’s jersey numbers and Denzel Washington’s character Bleek from Spike Lee’s 1990 film Mo’ Better Blues also take up space on his arms.

Baby Blue, one of the founding members of 2000’s R&B group Pretty Ricky, was sentenced last week to 20 months behind bars for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He was also ordered to pay over $2 million in forfeiture and restitution.

According to “Baller Alert,” Baby Blue found himself in trouble with the law after fraudulently obtaining COVID-19 Paycheck Protection Program loans. The South Florida rapper admitted to using falsified documents and false information to obtain a PPP loan of $426,717. “Baller Alert” report Baby Blue said “the judge was fair” in sentencing him.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Sued By Promoter For Bailing On Texas Concert

A Texas concert promoter is suing Tekashi 6ix9ine for allegedly pocketing money for a show without performing.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, JJD Entertainment booked Tekashi 6ix9ine for a gig at the Humble Civic Center on June 27, 2021. But the promoter claims the controversial artist flew from Boca Raton to Houston to collect $75,000 in cash then bailed.

As a result, JJD Entertainment had to issue refunds to the concert’s attendees.

JJD Entertainment says Tekashi 6ix9ine agreed to a deal where he’d get $45,000 upon the execution of the paperwork then receive $75,000 in cash on the day of the show. The promoter also paid over $28,000 for a private jet to get the convicted felon from Florida to Texas.

Jamie Dominquez, the owner of JJD Entertainment, initially met with Tekashi 6ix9ine’s representative Will Cornish to secure the deal. Dominguez accused the polarizing rapper’s team of continually renegotiating the deal in the lead-up to the event.

JJD Entertainment claims to have spent $178,649.70 on a deal that was supposed to be for $178,000. The promoter also paid well over $100,000 for the venue rental, production costs, security and insurance.

In addition to recouping the losses from the concert, JJD Entertainment is suing Tekashi 6ix9ine for defamation. Dominguez contends the disgraced rhymer knowingly lied to TMZ in a story about ditching the event.

Tekashi 6ix9ine proclaimed he was owed $250,000 and only received $70,000. JJD Entertainment argues these false statements caused financial harm and a loss of business opportunities with other artists.

Playboi Carti Has A Travis Scott Moment & Ridiculous Concert Demands, But Nobody Dies

Playboi Carti is known for being an enigmatic figure in rap – erratic, wild and has amassed a loyal following to match. He’s dope though and has one of the best albums of the year even if it hit last Christmas day. So, Playboi Carti is not really in the news too much and that’s good. Iggy Azalea pretty much has dragged him and, more recently, my girl Rico Nasty said that his fans have damn near driven her to suicide. His tour is called  Narcissist Tour. ANYWAY…I have some rumors, but the source made me blot out some of the details. I cannot blow up my sources!

Houston Authorities Are Reviewing Arena Videos of Riot Caused By Playboi Carti’s Last Minute Cancellation

So, we all know about the Travis Scott situation that happened back in November, where numerous people were killed. Travis was blamed, but there are numerous others on the hook. (Read about that here!) Congress is getting involved! Crazy. So, Travis’s situation is so bad that it overshadowed something that happened at a spot date on the Narcissist Tour.

I was told that a certain LOCATION was totally torn up by Carti and the crew. One of my kinfolks told me that it was a “mob scene.” The “green room” that reportedly housed the rapper was allegedly razed up so bad that they had to remodel the whole thing. This venue, like most venues, have multiple uses. My source tells me that they demolished it like they were the only ones that would ever use it again.

Maybe Playboi Carti and his people were upset because the older workers at said venue refused to help in the room. They said he was “the devil.” Now, I have never referred to homie Carti as such, but they may be church ladies or something. Long story short: They had to import some other workers, mostly younger and cooler, to help out in the room. That did not result in a better outcome, according to who I spoke to.

Carti reportedly told the handlers to color co-ordinate his Skittles. WHAT!!!

Rainbow Skittles GIF - Rainbow Skittles Candy - Discover & Share GIFs

Well, even the younger ones that felt like they were built to handle Cardi refused to do that. He also reportedly asked the specific religious beliefs of a certain person helping out. And, those in attendance said that Carti’s crew all had upside down crosses on them in some form or fashion.

At any rate, the room was destroyed. And that was not the end of it.

At the end of the NIGHT, arms and elbows were broken. A face was slashed and a girl’s nose was broken!!! All of this happened, but the venue refused to shine any light on it, because they did not want the madness and insanity to reflect poorly on THEM.

I clearly was not there, but I would imagine…it was something like the “Sky” video.

Kim Kardashian Demands Colorado Governor Ends Mandatory Minimum Sentencing

Kim Kardashian has called on Colorado Governor Jared Polis to end the use of mandatory minimum sentencing.

On her Instagram Stories, the 41-year-old brought attention to the case of Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, a truck driver who was recently sentenced to 110 years in prison for accidentally killing four people after his brakes failed in 2019.

“I know everyone has been posting about Rogel Aguilera-Mederos this week. I took a deep dive in it to figure out what the situation is,” Kardashian wrote beneath a photo of the truck driver in court.

“For those who don’t know about this case, Rogel Aguilera-Mederos is a 26-year-old that was sentenced 110 years in prison for driving a semi-tractor-trailer and crashed into traffic killing four people. He was not drunk or under the influence, his brakes on the semi-tractor-trailer failed.”

The reality star wrote it was “shocking and unfair” that the judge was forced to hand down the lengthy sentence due to mandatory minimums, a legislative practice where the government predetermines the minimum sentence for certain crimes.

“Mandatory minimums take away judicial discretion and need to end,” she continued. “Colorado law really has to be changed and this is so unfair. @govofco is a really good person and I know he will do the right thing.

“I pray that Governor Polis, who has been a leader on supporting reforms that increase human dignity in the legal system, will commute his sentence.”

Governor Polis said on Tuesday that his office was reviewing the case.

Cupid added, “I can honestly say there may have not been the ‘Cupid Shuffle’ without the ‘Bunny Hop.’ He inspired a whole sound here and I’m just grateful for that… I remember times back in the day certain radio stations didn’t want to play our music and Bunny B was on the front line — play Lafayette music or else! And for somebody to put it on the line like that, [he] will always be respected and loved by myself and by many others and everybody in the community.”

Living the Dream: How DJ Nicky Rizz Made His Wildest Dreams Come True

Every dream begins with a dreamer, and for DJ Nicky Rizz, it all started years ago. From a young age, Nicky found himself drawn to music. He enjoyed listening to various songs, and he developed a passion for Djing. He is one of the youngest out of the world-famous Heavy Hitters crew and has performed at high-end events across NYC and other states.

According to DJ Nicky, even though his journey to stardom has not been easy, he has managed to establish his spot by remaining dedicated to his passion. He says that, like any other industry, getting into the music scene is competitive, and some people will try to discourage you. However, what’s important is your desire and determination to succeed and think of more creative ideas to help you be unique.

While he didn’t shoot to fame from the word go, DJ Nicky started honing his skills early. He would attend events in his neighborhood and interact with other DJ’s which helped him build a vast network. The skills and experience he has accrued over the years are now set him apart in the industry.

He is popularly known for his energetic performances, diversity, and perfect selection of music. DJ Nicky says that, with every event, his goal is to bring out the best in every attendee and create mixes that everyone loves. This has allowed him to achieve fame and make club appearances in New York and beyond.

Success is not an overnight process, say, DJ Nicky. It’s a journey, and it takes a lot of patience, resilience, and effort. He notes to get to where he is today, he had to start from the bottom and learn to create his own opportunities. It was through his hard work and incredible talent that the Heavy Hitters crew recognized him, and in 2019, DJ Nicky was nominated into the group.

He encourages upcoming DJs to believe in their abilities, works hard, and never give up on their goals. Rather than waiting for the perfect opportunity, start small and build from there, says DJ Nicky. He says that the best way to gain experience is by being in the field and interacting with others. This will also help you expand your network and pave the way for more opportunities.

As a beginner DJ, there’s a lot of pressure, and you are often tasked with the opening time slot. This means it’s up to you to set the event’s mood, ambiance, and overall success. DJ Nicky states while it’s challenging, it helps prepare you and gives you room to perfect your skills. He says that the experience he gained has greatly impacted his career.

As he continues to thrive, DJ Nicky shows us that we, too, can turn our dreams into reality. Asked about the future, he says he would like to be on the radio someday and perform at more events in the US and across the globe.

Rick Ross Allegedly Paid $3 Million To Gangster Disciples Over Threats

Rick Ross allegedly paid a hefty price for mentioning Larry Hoover’s name on the hit single “B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast).”

Gangster Disciples member Markell White claimed Rick Ross forked over $3 million to the gang after being threatened.

According to documents obtained by Crowned TV Courts, White revealed the payment while testifying against fellow members of the Gangster Disciples.

“From my understanding, [Rick Ross] ended up paying like $3 million,” White said in court. “The initial payment was supposed to have been six, but I think they worked it out to like three.”

In 2012, the Gangster Disciples issued video threats to Rick Ross over his use of Larry Hoover’s name and the gang’s symbols. A 2016 indictment accused the gang of extorting the Maybach Music Group rapper.

White identified Kevin “KK” Clayton, the chief enforcer of the Gangster Disciples in Georgia, as the face of a video threatening Rick Ross. Clayton was sentenced to 33 years in prison after being convicted of RICO conspiracy.

Dozens of Gangster Disciples members – including White – were also convicted in a RICO case against the gang. White, who was a regional leader in Macon, Georgia, was sentenced to eight years and ninth months in prison.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival Fallout: Congress Investigating Live Nation

Congress has launched a probe into Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival.

The House Oversight Committee announced a bipartisan investigation into the deadly event on Wednesday (December 22). Members of Congress sent a letter to Live Nation’s president and CEO Michael Rapino requesting information about the concert promoter’s role in the tragedy.

“Recent reports raise serious concerns about whether your company took adequate steps to ensure the safety of the 50,000 concertgoers who attended Astroworld Festival,” they wrote to Rapino. “For instance, reports indicate that security and medical staff were inexperienced or ill-equipped to deal with mass injuries. Some attendees stated that the placement of barricades made it difficult to escape. Experts have stated that Astroworld Festival organizers failed to heed warning signs.”

The House Oversight Committee added, “We are deeply saddened by the deaths that occurred at Astroworld Festival and are committed to investigating what went wrong to inform possible reforms that could prevent future tragedies.”

Travis Scott and Live Nation are facing more than 300 lawsuits over the Astroworld Festival. A total of 10 people died and hundreds more were injured at the event, which was held at Houston’s NRG Park in November.

The House Oversight Committee’s investigation is being led by Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney and Rep. James Comer. Live Nation issued a statement confirming it will cooperate with Congress’ probe.

“We are assisting local authorities in their investigation and will of course share information with the Committee as well,” the company said. “Safety is core to live events and Live Nation engages in detailed security planning in coordination with local stakeholders including law enforcement, fire and EMT professionals. We are heartbroken by the events at Astroworld and our deepest sympathies go out to the families and friends of the victims.”

According to U Today, this back and forth prompted other cryptocurrency communities to jump in. Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus posted an image that showed that Dogecoin is more stable than the U.S. dollar.

The creator of the forthcoming Me vs. Me album posted, “These comparisons got nothing to do with me MUSICALLY, everything to do with what I stand for outside of it. I’m prolific. I stand for some that can change the world.”

FX Announces Premiere Date For ‘Snowfall’ Season 5

Snowfall‘s fifth season will air on FX. The cable network revealed the popular 1980s-era crime drama’s return date for 2022.

According to TVLine, Snowfall will be back on television beginning Wednesday, February 23. Viewers will get to watch two new episodes on that date. A new teaser trailer will reportedly air on Christmas Day during NBA games on ESPN and ABC.

Snowfall is enjoying a justly deserved burst of success with Season 4, and we’re excited to follow it up with another explosive season early next year,” said Eric Schrier, President of FX Entertainment.

Season 4 of Snowfall ended on April 21 with the “Fight or Flight” episode. That S4 finale brought in over 881,000 total viewers which placed the program at #3 on the Top 50 Original Cable Telecast rankings for the night.

Snowfall mostly centers around Los Angeles-based crack dealer Franklin Saint, played by British actor Damson Idris. The 30-year-old London native also confirmed the season five premiere date news on his Instagram page.

Damson Idris’s profile rose even higher during Snowfall‘s current hiatus. He had to shoot down dating rumors involving “Ah Ah Ah” rapper DreamDoll back in April. Plus, Idris recently went viral for his reaction to Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington admitting he was unfamiliar with the Brunel University London graduate.

Eric Amadio, Dave Andron, and the late John Singleton co-created Snowfall. The series is executive produced by Andron, Amadio, Thomas Schlamme, Michael London, Trevor Engelson, Leonard Chang, Walter Mosley, and Julie DeJoie.
