NBA Star Javale McGee Explains His Country Music Pivot

Javale McGee might be a beast on the basketball court, but he’s also a beast in the studio. 

Currently playing for the Sacramento Kings, McGee boasts a fruitful career in the NBA, a 3x-NBA champion as well as an Olympic gold medalist. But let’s not forget he’s a credited musician, too. 

Producing under the moniker Pierre, the Michigan-bred recording artist also makes music. In 2018, he landed a placement co-producing Justin Bieber’s “Available” on Changes alongside Poo Bear and Sasha Sirota. That same year, he released his own self-titled debut album.

Now, McGee is excited as ever to unveil his newest single titled “Cowboy,” featuring KOH and Audio Chateau. The record serves as his first venture into the country space, directly in line with his new scripted Audible podcast series called Finding Pierre. Clocking in at six episodes, this scripted series centers around the main character Pierre, which is the fictional persona of McGee himself.

AllHipHop spoke with Javale McGee about this exciting new collaboration, as well as his new favorite car: the Cybertruck.

How were your games this weekend?

I mean, they can be better. We lost, so that’s not good. But still an opportunity to get in the playoffs and make it rain, so that’s the good news.

How is it being a vet with such a young and up and coming team?

It’s amazing, just being able to influence the guys the right way.  Use my vocal leadership to try to get everybody to embrace the moment and the passion of the game, so we can go as far as possible in these playoffs. It’s pretty cool. 

How did the Finding Pierre podcast come about?

Me and Jared have been talking to each other, have been good friends for a while now. Probably five or six years. He was very adamant on doing something with me, but we didn’t know what. We went to the studio: I had a couple of beats, he had a couple of beats. We were just making music and having fun. The whole Finding Pierre idea came up and we executed it. It came out amazing. 

Who came up with the idea for Finding Pierre?

We both collaboratively came up with it, but he had more of a hand in executing it and putting the pieces together. I feel like we did a great job at that.

What is your favorite part about this fictional character? 

The way it ties into real world events that were happening at the time, because I really did go to the Olympics. There’s an episode where I’m going to the Olympics, he’s trying to find me his favorite “producer” and he doesn’t notice me. He doesn’t realize why this producer’s in Tokyo. I had to go to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics. It was cool that some things were fictional and some things were accurate at the same time, even though this is a fictional story. 

What was the highlight from the Olympics?

Just being in Tokyo and winning. That’s the highest highlight you could have, winning the Gold. Only problem was it was COVID, so we didn’t get to really explore Japan, which I heard is one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world. I didn’t experience that, that’s the only thing I really was disappointed about.

Talk about the single “Cowboy” and the making of that. Is this your first country leaning record?

It absolutely is, it’s definitely my first country song I’ve done. I initially was just doing it as a reference, because I write songs all the time. When you write songs, you’re a reference for the artist. But we loved the way it sounded, my voice sounded well in that country tone. We decided to keep it and it came out pretty well. 

What was that studio session like and were you with the features on the track? 

I wasn’t with the other artists, it was just me and Jared. We were just doing songs. We did multiple songs. We did Hip-Hop songs, country songs. We might have even done an EDM song. I don’t remember if we did that, but we did a lot of songs that session. He picked a couple of them and that was one that made the soundtrack. 

Where did the name Pierre come from? I know that’s what you produce under.

Truthfully, originally, I just thought the name sounded cool and I liked it. I looked at myself and thought: I think I could pass as a Pierre. But the cool story is I was out to dinner with my friend one time at the bar, at the restaurant in LA called Crustaceans. I was hanging out with my friend, then a girl was at the bar also. She asked me a question, then she asked me where my name was, and that was the end of the conversation. 

But then I looked over and she was Googling my name. After that, I said if someone asked me what my name was and they don’t know my name, I’ma tell them my name is Pierre. Just so we can start with a clean slate, so I’m not already put in the preconceived notions of “Oh he’s a basketball player, so I need to try to act like this around him or do this around him” type energy.

First of all, how did she get caught letting you see her Google your name?

I’m 7 foot so I can see all those things and around things.

Obviously, you’re a NBA player, musician, father. How do you find time to do it all?

It’s not easy, but it’s also a lot not as hard as people make it seem. You find time for what you love, and I love all those things. Everything has its time. Unfortunately, music has been on the backburner for a while now just because I’ve been really focused on my family and focused on basketball. But the music can definitely pick up this summer.

How’s that Cybertruck treating you?

It’s amazing, the best car I’ve ever driven in my life. It’s crazy. 

Why?

The technology that doesn’t make sense to me. Until I figure out how this technology is possible for this car to go as fast as it’s going, to accelerate as fast as it is without it being turned on, without an engine. Just the old school ways we’ve been told that speed and power is supposed to come to you. It’s literally a giant iPhone. It’s a giant RC, remote control car. It doesn’t make sense. I’ve always loved Teslas, but I didn’t think I looked right in the Model 3 or Model S. Because of how large I am I guess, but I’ve always loved them. Now that the Cybertruck came out, it’s definitely my favorite car.

That’s a lot of attention on those streets!

Yeah. Everybody, that’s all they can do is look at it and gawk over it. It’s pretty cool.

They designated March 9th Javale McGee day in Reno, Nevada. How did that feel and how full circle was that moment?

Aw man, it was amazing. It’s even more amazing just because some people anticipate things like “this is the goal. I’m going to be this and I’m going to be that.” I never anticipated any of this, so it’s all been a pleasant surprise. At the same time, I know the hard work I’ve put in over the years. Even before I got to college or got to the NBA, so it’s well-deserving. At the same time, it’s still a surprise and it’s definitely a humbling experience.

Earlier this month, Ashanti confirmed pregnancy rumors in an advertisement for Proov. She also revealed her engagement to Nelly.

“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope and anticipation,” she told Essence. “Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to and sharing this with my family, fiancé and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”

Ashanti and Nelly began dating in the 2000s. They reportedly broke up around 2013. The two reunited in 2023.

Sukihana Flips Drug Arrest Into Mugshot Merch Opportunity

Sukihana attempted to make the best of a bad situation by using her drug possession arrest as a way to make money. The 32-year-old rapper/reality TV star released t-shirts featuring her mugshot on her website.

The t-shirts cost $45. One version included the phrase “Free Da Coochie Girl” while another printed “Bad Kitty” under her mugshot.

Sukihana, whose real name is Destiny Lanette Henderson, was arrested on drug charges in Florida on April 25. She was charged with possession of codeine with the intent to sell, deliver or manufacture and possession of MDMA with the intent to sell, deliver or manufacture, per Broward County Sheriff’s Office records.

The Delaware native was booked at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach. Her bail was set at $7,500.

Sukihana sported bright orange hair in her mugshot. She had a wry smile in the photo.

The drug arrest could be just the beginning of Sukihana’s legal issues based on a rumor previously reported by AllHipHop. According to several sources, booking agents and promoters accused Sukihana of scamming them.

Sukihana allegedly collected upfront payments for gigs but never appeared at the events. None of the alleged victims went on the record with the allegations, but they were reportedly considering litigation against her.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Claims He Was Maced During Paris Nightclub Brawl

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie found himself involved in an altercation outside of a Paris nightclub over the weekend. Now he says the only reason the opposing party didn’t get a proper beatdown is because he was maced.

In a video clip shared to his Instagram Stories, A-Boogie is seen backing away from the fight after a club security guard appears to spray him with mace. He wrote across the footage, “LMAO f### I look like playing with mace n##### can’t fight.” He added in a separate post, “N##### only got out of there cause the maced us. Never runnin’ from a n####!”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was in the French capital, where he was scheduled to perform on his Better Off Alone Tour Sunday night (April 28). But he soon ran into trouble at the after party. Footage shared on social media shows A-Boogie approaching the venue while drinking from a bottle of alcohol. He passes it to someone in his team, but security is already arguing with his entourage.

A-Boogie says, “We out,” before heading toward his vehicle but suddenly walks back to the club, lifting the rope blocking entry. Chaos erupts as security blocks him, with one bouncer pushing A-Boogie. He’s then whisked away by a friend as one of the security guards sprays what is now presumed to be mace.

Byron Allen At Center Of Legal Race War, Korean Businessman Claims Bias Blocked $8 Billion Deal

Media mogul Byron Allen is mired in a legal battle with a Korean-American businessman, who claims rumors that he was a foreigner trying to take over newsrooms in the U.S. tanked a huge deal.  

Soohyung Kim, Standard General’s scorned CEO, claims that Allen’s influence led the FCC to reject Kim’s $8.6 billion acquisition of TEGNA Inc., a publicly traded spinoff of media giant Gannett. ​

TEGNA is a massive operation that owns and operates a portfolio of assets. ​

The media company owns television stations in 51 markets, affiliated with major networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. ​

TEGNA also has digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, OTT streaming services, production studios that produce original content, and advertising and marketing services provided through TEGNA Marketing Solutions. ​

The lawsuit claims that a race discrimination crusade fronted by Allen ruined the deal and now Kim wants to get paid for the damages Allen supposedly caused with his smear campaign. 

Kim claims that his Asian ethnicity was a decisive factor in the FCC’s decision, ultimately benefiting Allen.

The lawsuit asserts that Allen used his status as a prominent Democratic donor to sway FCC officials, including Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, to favor Black-owned businesses over Asian-American ones. 

Consequently, this purported bias dashed Kim’s aspirations to expand his holdings in the broadcast sector. 

Lawyer Tyler R. Green highlighted the role of racial dynamics in the FCC’s decision-making, stating that “advancing equity” seemingly disregarded Kim’s rights due to his Asian descent, characterizing it as a manipulation of racial equity.

Green further accused Allen of leveraging his racial identity as a tool to maintain and enhance his media empire. 

“Mr. Allen knows that as a Black American and the owner of the largest Black-owned media company, he has tremendous leverage over the race-conscious FCC, which actively seeks to expand minority ownership,” Green remarked. 

He added that this influence undermined other minority media owners like Kim. The lawsuit claims Byron Allen gained several benefits from blocking the TEGNA deal. ​ 

These include the potential opportunity to acquire TEGNA for his Black-owned media company, Allen Media Group, more leverage over the FCC due to his race and ownership status and expansion of minority ownership in the media industry.

Green explained how discussions about the deal were influenced by perceptions of race and diversity, pointing to negative stereotypes against Asians propagated by affiliates of Allen, which painted Kim’s pursuit of media ownership as a threat. 

“Objectors, organized by Mr. Allen and allies, said the deal did ‘nothing’ to advance diversity in broadcast ownership…They used Mr. Kim’s race for fearmongering, pretending as though he, an American, was an Asian foreign owner poised to take over America’s newsrooms,” Green added.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages totaling at least $136 million and punitive measures against Allen, the FCC, and other affiliates identified as accomplices in derailing the TEGNA acquisition deal. 

This scenario might have ripple effects across the regulatory landscape, prompting a reevaluation of mergers and acquisition processes, especially those involving minority-owned enterprises in the media sector.

For Byron Allen, a long-time entrepreneur in the media landscape, the lawsuit represents a significant challenge to his standing and influence.

The Game Comes To Justin Bieber’s Defense Following Tearful Instagram Posts

The Game has come to the defense of pop star Justin Bieber, who recently uploaded photos of himself crying to his Instagram page.

The rapper, who has experienced plenty of his own ups and downs, wrote on social media, “He’s human. Rich or not, man or woman… he’s a person. People go through things. These things sometimes trigger uncontrollable emotions. Allow him & others to be vulnerable no matter the state. What’s funny is the folks in the comments acting like they don’t have bad days, moments or s### don’t get thick. Weird world.”

Bieber’s emotionally-charged photos were part of a bigger cluster that included shots of himself performing and a close-up of weed. He didn’t provide any context to the post, although his wife Hailey Beiber did write in the comment section, “a pretty crier.” Fans of his, of course, were riddled with concern, typing comments like, “Justin, are you OK?” and “Your son and he seems to be in pain, I ask you to surround him with Your mighty arms & reveal to him that You are always near.”

But another joked, “Stop it, he’s crying because he just choked on that rip in the previous slide,” a reference to the pot picture.

Whatever the reason behind the Bieb’s tears, The Game clearly empathizes.

Chrisean Rock Fields Rumors Her Son Is Blind Or Intellectually Disabled

Chrisean Rock recently reacted to speculation about her son’s health on social media. The rapper/reality TV star vehemently defended her son amid rumors claiming he is blind or has an intellectual disability.

“My son Chrisean Jesus Malone Jr. – he’s straight,” she said. “The f###? He’s a billion-dollar baby, so stay tuned. No, he’s not blind. No, he’s not retarded, n####. He’s a f###### child. Chrisean Rock claimed people continually discussed her son because they wanted attention. The polarizing figure believed she faced unfair scrutiny as a mother, but she was confident her son would prove her doubters wrong.

“My baby’s blessed from the head to his toe,” she said. “Like what? Y’all forgot when he got dedicated on the seventh day? Like what? All I gotta say is, ‘God glory, God glory.’ All y’all gon’ see is him proving you n##### wrong. And that’s all that matters … I really don’t give two f####, for real. I’m not even addressing nothing because I don’t give a f###. You feel me?

“We ain’t talking ‘bout your baby ‘cause it don’t get you views. Like you can’t talk about your own kids. You know why? ‘Cause it ain’t gon’ get you views. It’s not gonna get people watching. So yeah, talk about what’s most wanted. Talk about what’s most talked about: me, Chrisean.”

Chrisean gave birth to her baby boy in 2023. He is her first child. She named him after herself.

The baby’s father Blueface is currently in jail for a probation violation but scheduled to be released in July.

Cash XO’s Security Guard Shot Weeks After Drake Dissed XO Executive

A security guard was shot multiple times at Cash XO’s home in Los Angeles on Monday (April 29). According to FOX 11, the 37-year-old victim was in critical condition but expected to survive.

Cops responded to several 911 calls about gunfire in the area around 2:30 a.m. The victim was one of the callers, telling dispatchers he got shot and providing a description of his attackers. Police found him inside a guard shack on Cash XO’s property and rushed him to a local hospital.

The security guard said three men wearing hoodies and surgical masks fled the scene after the shooting. Police noted Cash XO was at home at the time of the incident, per KTLA.

Cash XO, whose real name is Amir Esmailian, is the longtime manager of The Weeknd. Cash XO co-founded the XO record label with The Weeknd.

Drake recently mocked Cash XO on the song “Push Ups.” Drake targeted Cash XO and The Weeknd in response to a lyrical jab from Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You album. The Weeknd dissed Drake in a guest appearance on Future and Metro’s song “All to Myself.”

“They could never diss my brothers, baby/When they got leaks in they operation/I thank God that I never signed my life away/And we never do the big talk/They shooters making TikToks/Got us laughin’ in the Lambo/I promise that I got your back,” The Weeknd sang.

Drake released “Push Ups” to address Kendrick Lamar and many others who dissed the Canadian star. Drake mentioned Cash XO and The Weeknd in the first verse.

“Yeah, I’m the 6ix God, I’m the frontrunner/Y’all n#### manager was Chubbs lil’ blunt runner/Claim the 6ix and you boys ain’t even come from it/And when you boys got rich, you had to run from it/Cash blowing Abel bread, out here tricking/S### we do for b######, he doing for n#####,” Drake rapped.

Sukihana May Have More Legal Woes If Latest Rumors Are Accurate

You know Sukihana, right? Yeah, she’s that really hardcore chick from Delaware, Miami and a few other places. She recently got busted for allegedly selling codeine and other substances. It didn’t create much buzz because she’s more of a reality TV sideshow than a rap artist. Her mugshot? Oh, it went viral online.

Here’s what the news team reported:

Sukihana, whose real name is Destiny Lanette Henderson, was booked at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach. The bond for the codeine charge was set at $5,000, and the MDMA charge at $2,500.

Now, here’s the rumor. I’ve heard from several sources, including booking agents and promoters, who claim that Suki has scammed them. (“Defrauded” is the nicer term, but let’s keep it real—they’re saying she took their money.) How? Typically, when you book someone for a show, they get paid half upfront and the rest when they perform or arrive at the venue. Sometimes, promoters might stiff the artist at a packed venue, but that’s rare.

The word on the street is that Suki collects the advance payment then fails to show up at the venue. I don’t know exactly what her fee is, but most rappers can bag a decent amount, even those with minimal talent. On the low end, they might make $10,000 per show. If you pocket $5,000 or $10,000 and do nothing, you’re literally getting money for no reason.

I can’t confirm she’s doing this, but I can tell you that these are the allegations some people are making. Most haven’t gone public as the accusers are likely debating whether to take legal action or call her out on social media. From what I hear, they might go the legal route, but don’t quote me on that.

Kanye West Accused Of Firing Security Guard Over Dreadlocks Dispute

Kanye West’s former security guard sued him for discrimination, wrongful termination and creating a hostile work environment, among other claims. Benjamin Deshon Provo added his name to the list of ex-Donda Academy employees who’ve brought complaints against West by filing a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Friday (April 26).

According to Provo, West “unjustifiably and unreasonably” demanded employees shave their heads in 2023. Provo wouldn’t comply, citing religious reasons for keeping his dreadlocks. West and manager John Hicks pressured Provo to cut the dreads, but Provo stood firm despite West’s “increasingly more aggressive” demands.

“Plaintiff refused,” Provo’s attorney noted in court documents obtained by PEOPLE. “Thereafter, Hicks approached Plaintiff and stated, ‘Kanye said, ‘Tell the one with the dreads to shave his head or he is fired.’ Plaintiff refused to shave his head, and as a result thereof, his employment was terminated.”

Provo began working for Kanye West in 2021. He handled security at the Donda Academy, Sunday Service events and a Yeezy warehouse. Provo was allegedly told to “prevent paparazzi from interacting with Kanye by any means necessary, including acts of violence.”

The security guard’s lawsuit said there was “a stark difference in the way Kanye treated Plaintiff and other Black employees” compared to other employees.

“Kanye frequently screamed at and berated Black employees, while in contrast, he never so much as raised his tone of voice toward white staff,” Provo’s lawsuit contended.

Provo claimed he was paid less than his non-Black colleagues. He experienced a “decrease in his paychecks” after raising a complaint.

West’s former security guard sued him a few weeks after another former Donda Academy employee named Trevor Phillips made similar claims in a separate lawsuit. Phillips said West “treated the Black staff considerably worse than white employees.” Phillips also accused Kanye West of threatening to shave Donda Academy students’ heads and put them in cages.

Meek Mill Blames Solar Eclipse For “Black Hatred”—But Diddy Slander Continues

Meek Mill’s social media antics routinely get him in hot water—and last week was no exception. On April 26, the Dreamchasers founder tweeted an interesting theory on what he calls “black hatred.” He believes the recent solar eclipse led to an uptick in bad behavior.

“The eclipse opened up the portal to everybody that was hating on you to be exposed!” he wrote. “Black hatred level went up a few notches in 2024!”

People quickly hopped in the comment section to remind him they’re still curious about his involvement with Diddy. Comments like “did you do top or bottom for Diddy” and “nah bruh they not hating they just sayin u was smashin diddy” littered his post. Of course, he didn’t reply to those.

For those who missed it, Lil Rodney filed a lawsuit against Diddy and claimed in court docs that Diddy had sex with a “Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj,” and many concluded he was talking about Meek Mill.

Meek Mill also said he thinks more people actually support him than don’t. He continued, “My city is fully behind me I prolly got a 1000 haters of 1.6 million people! Ima start my next tour Philly gone be in the first dates to display reality logic over internet influence I been doing it for years! They just come up with new bot tactics.

He later asked YouTube for help in removing negative stories about him.

“If you type my name in on @YouTube you only seeing spam of some fake stories or rumors they found away to hack people actually typing my name in easily,” he wrote. “@youtubemusic can we get the stuff out the way of my music???”

The total solar eclipse took place on April 8. Referred to as the Great North American Eclipse, it was visible across a band covering parts of North America, from Mexico to Canada and crossing the contiguous United States. Zookeepers, naturalists, university researchers and citizen scientists positioned themselves to observe animal behavior during the eclipse.

Captive avian species—meaning zoo animals—seemed most affected by the eclipse. For example, at the Columbus Zoo, ostriches returned to their barn and began their evening rituals but when the sunlight returned, they left their barn and resumed their daytime activities.

As for humans, psychologists suggest people have a broader, more collective focus during such an event—and maybe that means hating on Meek Mill more than usual. Whatever the case, find his tweets below.

DDG made the transition from YouTube content creator to platinum-selling recording artist. According to the Pontiac, Michigan-born entertainer, his current monthly income surpasses six figures.

“I’m going to give you a wide range. I don’t want people to pocket-watch too crazy. On a low month, I’ll pull in a little hundred piece [$100,000]. On a high month, we can go anywhere from five [$500,000] and up,” DDG revealed in an interview with The Shade Room.

Additionally, he said, “I work very hard. A lot of people don’t give me credit for what I do, but being relevant in the space that I’m in for as long as I have, a lot of people look at me as an OG. Even though I’m 26, but I’ve been doing it since I was 19. I inspired a lot of the new creators that we are seeing now.” 

The man born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. dropped out of Central Michigan University to pursue his YouTube career. The “Moonwalking in Calabasas” performer runs The DDG Plug and the PontiacMadeDDG VLOGS channels on the Google-owned video-sharing platform.

An album by DDG titled Valedictorian arrived in November 2019. DDG also released 2022’s It’s Not Me It’s You and 2023’s Maybe It’s Me… via Epic Records. Plus, he teamed up with OG Parker for the Die 4 Respect mixtape in 2021.

“Moonwalking in Calabasas” earned double-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. DDG picked up gold plaques for “Arguments,” “I’m Geekin” and “Hood Melody” too. Diddy Gave Artists Their Publishing Rights Back To Silence Them According To Aubrey O’Day

Aubrey O’Day rose to fame as part of Danity Kane, the girl group formed during the Diddy-produced Making the Band reality series.

Diddy signed O’Day and the rest of Danity Kane to his Bad Boy Entertainment record label. After O’Day’s time with the company, the singer became a vocal critic of her former boss.

For starters, O’Day appeared in the TMZ-presented documentary The Downfall of Diddy. The 68-minute presentation covers Diddy’s federal sex trafficking criminal investigation and several sexual misconduct lawsuits.

In the doc, O’Day accuses Diddy of trying to silence former Bad Boy acts by offering them the publishing rights to their music. She claimed the deal gave her $300.30 in exchange for her silence.

“I think he would probably be making moves to keep as many people quiet as possible,” O’Day stated about the multi-millionaire in The Downfall of Diddy documentary.

On the proposed publishing rights deal she added, “It asked me to not be able to have access to my story and my experience anymore. It asked me specifically to stay silent and never speak poorly about a human.”

According to TMZ, a representative for Diddy denied all Bad Boy acts were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). The source called Diddy’s decision to return publishing rights to the artists “an unprecedented move within the industry.”

Amanda Seales Responds To Gilbert Arenas Claiming She’s Single Because She’s Too Smart

Following her interview on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Amanda Seales became a trending topic online. Sharpe later connected with Gilbert Arenas to get the ex-NBA player’s take on what Seales had to say during her Club Shay Shay appearance.

“As educated as she is, there’s a standard of a man that she’s looking for. If they’re not on the same education level as her, she’s gonna look down on [him],” Gilbert Arenas claimed about Amanda Seales not being married.

The former Washington Wizards guard continued, “If they’re more educated than her, then they’re talking down to her. So these are the type of women that will typically be single because they can’t find the equal partner to who they are.”

Amanda Seales got wind of what Gilbert Arenas had to say on Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson’s Nightcap show. The actress/comedian/recording artist addressed Agent Zero in a video posted to social media.

“Why is Gilbert Arenas even talking about me?” Seales asked her followers. “I’m too smart to find a good man? That’s not even a thing. That’s an unfortunate statement to make.”

The Columbia University graduate also said, “I don’t even know what that’s trying to say about men. And the truth is I’m not trying to find a good man. A good man will find me. I’m talking to somebody right now.”

Coi Leray Blames Record Labels For Starting Female Rap Beef

Coi Leray has had much to say about the music industry recently. One of her latest social media posts suggested record companies fuel animosity among female rap stars.

“[I don’t know,] if you ask me it [seems] like these labels are behind the female controversy. They see it helps push the music, I wouldn’t be surprised if they the ones behind the fan pages,” Coi Leray tweeted.

In addition, Leray wrote, “Most of these female rappers not even from the same places!!!! Not from the same hoods… why are we beefing? Do female pop stars have just as much beef as the female rappers? I’m curious.”

Coi Leray found herself going back and forth with Latto in 2023. The “Players” hitmaker took issue with Latto name-dropping her on the “Put It on da Floor” single.

“It’s starting to get old. The rap beefs are for the guys. You know, I don’t even think they should do it,” Coi Leray stated in a 2023 interview, following her public tension with Latto. 

Leray also said, “Us artists, we kind of control the narrative. So if we just spend more time pushing that narrative we won’t give these headlines and these blogs no reason to go ahead and push this negative narrative. That’s something we got to come together on.”

Skilla Baby Reacts To Male Fan Rubbing His Chest During Live Performance

Footage from one of rising Detroit rapper Skilla Baby’s recent performances has been circulating the internet. In the clip, one of Skilla’s supporters apparently crossed the line regarding fan interaction.

A video of Skilla Baby running through his “Bae” song at a show made its way to Instagram. At one point, a male fan in the crowd touches The Coldest album creator’s bare chest.

Skilla stopped performing to address the man. He said, “No disrespect towards you, bro. I don’t go that way… I appreciate you, bro. But I don’t do that.”

Projects such as 2019’s Push That S### Out Skilla helped introduce Skilla Baby to a wider audience. During a 2023 interview, Skilla spoke about women making up a large part of his fan base.

“I ain’t gon lie, everybody that come to my shows be like, ‘[Your] front row is full of girls!’ I thought that’s how everybody’s front row look,” Skilla Baby stated.

The recording artist born Trevon Gardner continued, “I don’t know where that came from though. I don’t get that part, I just be living my regular life.”

Skilla Baby released The Coldest on April 26, 2024. That project features Moneybagg Yo, G Herbo, Rob49, Mozzy, Flo Milli, Jeremih, DaBaby, and Polo G.

Lil Nas X Fires Back At Ice Spice’s “Psychotic” Alleged Ex-Friend Over Copying Accusations

Lil Nas X has responded to a social media user claiming to be a former friend of Ice Spice following copying accusations. 

Going by the handle @babystorme_, the user alleged she and Ice Spice used to be besties but the rapper used her so she could appear “closer to blackness.” Furthermore, she accused Ice Spice of colorism and claimed she was jealous of Latto. 

She also took aim at Lil Nas X, claiming he stole her “identity” during his “Christian Era” rollout. Baby Storme shared a post from Lil Nas X wearing a dress alongside the look she accuses him of copying.  

“Lil Nas X i’m not even gonna address you,” Baby Storme wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Another clown ass barb who tried to steal my identity. he stole my TCIAG look that i INVENTED & then used it to launch his new era, ‘J Christ.’ but he doesn’t walk in light. which is why you can never be me. You used blasphemy to try to boost your sorry ass career. And that’s why your career is finished. This screenshot is straight from his page.” 

In another tweet, she claimed Lil Nas X “was the first major celebrity to discover me.” According to Baby Storme, he approached her in 2020, telling her not to quit music because he’s a big fan.  

“It’s because he wanted to keep stealing my original ideas & profiting,” she continued. “He also sent his producers to work with me so they could get access to my unreleased music. & he’s done a lot more than that.” She also claimed he’s been watching her since 2020.

However, Lil Nas X caught wind of her post and clapped back in characteristic style.  

“I am flattered that you think my outfit was genuinely inspired by your party city monster high dress. Log off the internet and have your psychotic breakdown without an audience like the rest of us baby girl,” he wrote. 

Meanwhile, Baby Storme claimed Lil Nas X fell into her trap for free promo.  

“I already knew Lil Nas X would be the one celebrity to respond,” she added. “I baited him. 😉 And it was easy since he is a barb. Thank you for the free promo, Montero! You really put my career on the map now!!” 

Nonetheless, he continued her tirade against her alleged former best friend. After claiming Ice Spice cheated on her boyfriend and producer, Riot, in 2022 with Lil Tjay, she promised to share receipts of her admitting to assaulting him. 

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Wields Bottle In Altercation With Bouncers Outside Paris Club

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie ran into some trouble in Paris, France over the weekend after getting into an altercation with security at a nightclub.  

The Bronx native was in the French capital, where he was scheduled to perform on his Better Off Alone Tour Sunday night (April 28.) However, things went left after A-Boogie tried to end his night at a Paris nightspot. 

Footage shared on social media shows A-Boogie approaching the venue while drinking from a bottle of alcohol. “I can’t bring the bottle,” he ponders before continuing to the entrance with the bottle in hand. He eventually passes it to someone in his team, but security is already arguing with the rapper’s entourage.  

A-Boogie eventually decides he’s had enough, saying, “We out,” before heading towards his vehicle. Nonetheless, he swiftly changes his mind and walks back to the club. This time he attempts to come in from the side, lifting the rope blocking entry.  

Chaos quickly ensues as security blocks him, with one bouncer pushing A-Boogie. He’s then quickly hustled away by a friend amid the mayhem as one bouncer sprays an unknown substance from a canister while another arms himself with a pole. 

It appears A-Boogie had another liquor bottle on his person, and he begins wielding it about while laughing. Thankfully, the situation apparently subsided before any blows were thrown. It’s unclear if police were involved although bystanders were shouting for the cops to be called.

While he may have escaped legal action in Paris, A Boogie had a run-in with the law in Europe in 2021. He canceled his appearance at London’s Wireless Festival following his arrest for an incident that allegedly occurred two years prior. 

Stunna Girl Threatens To Sue Fan Beat Up At Concert For Touching Her Inappropriately

Stunna Girl was performing in Syracuse, New York over the weekend when the concert turned into chaos after a male fan grabbed her backside from the audience. 

Footage from the concert shows the overzealous fan slapping her behind as she passes by him. Stunna Girl doesn’t acknowledge the man but whispers something to her husband Rich Mula500 who was on stage with her.  

Rich immediately jumps offstage to confront the man and they begin a heated convo with foreheads pressed together. A larger man, presumably security becomes involved, grabs the fan by the neck, pushes him to the ground and blows begin flying. 

Another person appears to get involved before Stunna Girl herself gets a few kicks in as the fan lies on the floor curled up in a ball. “Don’t touch me b####,” the Baddies star says into the microphone before being ushered back onstage. The mele continues as the fan throws chairs and the DJ orders everybody offstage.  

On Sunday night (April 28) Stunna Girl threatened to sue the fan for sexual assault. During an Instagram Live chat, she explained that the fan denied touching her inappropriately when confronted by Rich Mula.  

It’s clear that you do not know the law,” she said before adding, “You’re literally about to be wrapped up for sexual assault.” 

She continued, “He said he was suing me. But it’s like, you wanna play that route? You don’t even know who you talking to right now. I’m not the shorty to play with. He said he was suing me, he called the police. Then he went on the internet and said he was gonna shoot me, said he was gone kill us.” 

However, according to Stunna Girl, while she hasn’t filed a police report, she is considering legal action.  

“I don’t tell police, I have lawyers that will wash you, literally, dry,’ she added. “I will have your future kids standing outside 7-Eleven panhandling.” 

She also mocked the fan on her instagram Story, posting multiple memes and screenshots of the altercation.
