Cardi B & Tasha K Set For Epic Two-Day Court Battle

Cardi B and Tasha K are gearing up for yet another courtroom showdown, this time in the Southern District of Florida’s bankruptcy court.

The rap superstar, controversial blogger and their lawyers have been ordered to court on February 24 and 25 as their ongoing legal feud over a $3.9 million defamation judgment takes another dramatic turn.

The sparks started flying in 2019 when Cardi B won a staggering defamation lawsuit against Tasha K. The jury sided with Cardi after Tasha was found guilty of spreading false and harmful rumors about the rapper, resulting in millions in damages.

The judgment left Tasha K in financial turmoil, ultimately leading her to file for bankruptcy in 2023, claiming assets of less than $60,000. Now, Cardi B is pushing for the dismissal of Tasha K’s bankruptcy case, accusing her of scheming to hide assets, including offshore trust accounts.

Cardi’s legal team alleges that Tasha K and her husband orchestrated a deliberate effort to evade paying the massive judgment. On the other hand, Tasha K fired back in court documents filed last week, accusing Cardi of using the legal system to silence her and derail her career.

She also claims that Cardi’s insistence on a broad non-disparagement clause would cripple her ability to continue as a public commentator.

Adding to the high-stakes drama, the bankruptcy court has ordered the parties to exchange expert reports by February 7, 2025, with discovery wrapping up by February 14. Both sides must also submit legal memoranda before the two-day evidentiary hearing.

At the heart of the proceedings will be whether Tasha K’s bankruptcy plan should move forward or if the case will be dismissed or converted, as Cardi’s team insists. Tasha K’s latest claims paint Cardi B as being motivated by revenge rather than economic interest.

According to Tasha, the rapper is focused on ending her bankruptcy case and career out of spite and revenge. Meanwhile, Cardi B is trying to secure what the court awarded her, arguing that Tasha should be held accountable for smearing her reputation across the internet.

WWE Veteran Mark Henry Says Hulk Hogan Refused To Tour HBCU’s Before Being Boo’d

Former star WWE wrestler Mark Henry has revealed that he attempted to advise Hulk Hogan on a strategy to combat the fallout from his alleged recent string of discrimination before he got boo’d by thousands.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Henry addressed Hogan being fiercely boo’d by nearly 18,000 fans in Inglewood at WWE’s Monday Night Raw: New Day for Netflix. When asked if he was surprised by how the crowd reacted to Hogan, Henry confessed that he once suggested Hogan take proactive steps to address his controversial past racist remarks by touring Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

However, the wrestling legend apparently refused to follow through. The revelation came about when Henry started discussing Hogan’s legacy, which he acknowledged was solidified but still also susceptible to public opinion based on the complicated scrutiny the wrestling star has faced in recent years.

“Anytime that you consider the Mount Rushmore in the top 10 of wrestling all time, Hogan is always going to be in that top 10,” Henry admitted. “But right now, you know, with the social climate and the things that he said and does and his lack of effort to try to fix it, people are going to come down on it.”

A post shared by TMZ (@tmz_tv)

Henry then revealed that he initially had no personal issues with Hogan but found it difficult to overlook the star’s actions and inactions after hearing about the racist remarks.

“I never had an issue with him before I heard all of the stuff,” he said. “And even then, I believe in giving second chances. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a fix-it person. I’m not going to dwell on the negative. I’m not going to talk about the past. We’re going forward.”

But according to Henry, Hogan had no interest in taking part in his “fix it” mantra, nor making amends.

“He never wanted to go forward and fix it,” he said. “So, you know, that’s what happens when you think that everything is going to go away. It’s not going to go away.”

Despite offering a path to reconciliation, Hogan’s reluctance left Henry disappointed. “I offered to say, ‘Hey, let’s do a tour of the Black colleges, law schools, and explain what happened,'” he said. “He didn’t want to do that.”

Hogan’s career has been shadowed by several controversies in recent years, including a viral scandal in 2024 involving accusations of racism during a promotional campaign for a drink brand. The incident consumed TikTok and other social media platforms after a young Black model claims she was mysteriously dismissed from a gig days before it ended after being hired to promote the product.

The model claims once she met Hogan, shortly after she was relieved and claims she found out that another white model was hired to carryout the job. The scandal reignited criticism of Hogan’s past behavior and further strained his relationship with fans.

@Hulk Hogan thanks for making it clear that you don’t work with BLACK brand ambassadors. #fypage #hulkhogan #brandambassador

LeBron James Is In Hot Seat—But Is Drake Pulling Akademiks’ Strings?

Wow, this Drake and LeBron James situation is turning into one of the sassiest beefs ever. Drake’s “Fighting Irish” is super spicy with bars that could most have interpreted as shots at King LeBron. We haven’y confirmed it, but it seems to be widely believed.

Obviously, the Kendrick Lamar drama is the root of all this mess. LeBron wasn’t quiet about this support for Kendrick, which likely rubbed Drake the wrong way. Drake literally has that man Big Bron tatted on his body. so they were close.

And here we are to NOW. Internet personality Akademiks has decided to pour gasoline on the fire. He claims Drake and LeBron allegedly smashed Canadian jawns together. The allegation that LeBron cheated on his wife, Savannah, with Drake allegedly playing wingman is nasty work. But, why now Ak?

The general vibe is that Akademiks is Drake’s mouthpiece, and he told his dog to hit the rumor mill. It could also be that Akademiks is trying to get in Drake’s supreme good graces. Remember, Drake keeps doing interviews with that white dude and not his dog. I think Drake is trying to destroy his old friend and using this charlatan to do it. No disrespect, but LeBron is still in good standing in the hood.

It would really be nice if Drake just went back to the music and stayed there. Revenge? Ugh! The bigger question is how will LeBron respond? So far, he’s been silent, and I think he should keep it that way. J. Prince once warned Drake about getting in the mud. Look what happened!

This story is far from over! 2025, please slow down!

Busta Rhymes & MC Sha-Rock: When Two Hip-Hop Legends Meet

Busta Rhymes was elated to finally cross paths with MC Sha-Rock, who’s credited as the first female MC.

In a video posted to Sha-Rock’s Instagram account, Busta Rhymes praises Sha-Rock repeatedly, calling her an “icon” and “legendary.” He then asks, “Why your skin look so beautiful?” to which she says, “Hip-Hop, baby!”

Sha-Rock also tells him she’s been trying to connect with him for years, then mentions her Rock the Bells radio show with Grandmaster Caz. Bus-A-Bus eyes widen and he says, “Caz my brother. I am Caz’s son.” Like a G, she then asks him to do a drop for the show and he happily obliges.

“It was an honor meeting Busta Rhymes for the first time on the Rock The Bells Cruise,” MC Sha-Rock tells AllHipHop. “Busta Rhymes had just finished his performance. I was standing next to Kid Capri and said to him, ‘I’ve never met Busta Rhymes.’ He said, ‘Stop lying.’ I said, ‘No serious.’

“I said to Kid Capri, ‘Can you make the formal introduction?’ He said, ‘You’re Sha-Rock. Cut through all of the people that was waiting to take pictures with Busta.’ I said, ‘I’m not doing that.’ Kid Capri took me to Busta and made the introduction—and the rest is history. I’ve always had mad respect for Busta. I’ve always considered him a true MC as well as a perfectionist in his stage showmanship.”

MC Sha-Rock, often referred to as the “Mother of Hip-Hop,” was a member of the pioneering group Funky 4 + 1. She was the first female MC to perform on national television, appearing on Saturday Night Live in 1981.

Sha-Rock broke barriers in a male-dominated industry and set the stage for future female rappers. Her contributions to Hip-Hop culture helped define its early sound and spirit, making her a crucial part of the genre’s history and evolution, something Busta Rhymes clearly respects.

Busta Rhymes, meanwhile, emerged as a member of Leaders of the New School in the early 1990s and quickly established himself as a standout talent with his distinctive voice and intricate wordplay.

After appearing in A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” video in 1991, his solo career skyrocketed with hits like “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check,” “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” and “Break Ya Neck.”

Over the years, he’s evolved into a cultural icon, collaborating with legendary artists across multiple genres while maintaining his signature style. More recently, (woo hah!) he got his health in check, dropping an impressive 64 pounds. He celebrated the milestone with a shirtless selfie, which he posted to Instagram along with a nod to Slick Rick.

“THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP,” he wrote in the caption. “SO WE WON’T EVER STOP!! NEVVVVVERRRRR!!! GRAND RISING DON’T BLOCK YOUR BLESSINGS AND BE GREAT PEOPLE!!

“‘WENT TO THE BATHROOM TO WASH UP, PUT SOME SOAP ON MY FACE AND MY HAND UPON A CUP. AND SAID A, MIRROR MIRROR IN THE WALL, WHO IS THE TOP CHOICE OF THEM ALL?! IT WAS A RUBBLE DUBBLE 5 MINUTES IT LASTED, THE MOREOR SAID YOU ARE YOU CONCEITED BASTARD!!” ( IN MY @therulernyc VOICE).'”

Public Enemy’s “Burn Hollywood Burn” Doesn’t Mean What TikTokers Think It Means

Chuck D, one of Hip-Hop’s most definitive voices, is dispelling assumptions about Public Enemy’s 1990 single “Burn Hollywood Burn” featuring Ice Cube and Big Daddy Kane.

As Los Angeles continues to fend off the worst natural disaster in the city’s history, Chuck D hopped on Instagram to both explain the meaning behind the Fear of a Black Planet track and encourage people to stop using the song for their social media videos.

“Burn Hollywood Burn is a protest song, extracted from the Watts rebellion monikered by the magnificent Montague in 1965 against inequality when he said ‘Burn Baby Burn’ across the air,” he wrote. “We made mind revolution songs aimed at a one sided exploitation by an industry. Has nothing to do with families losing everything they have in a natural disaster. Learn the history.”

Chuck added in the caption, “Please don’t use our song on your reels and pictures of this horrifying natural disaster.”

Those unfamiliar with the track, mostly the younger TikTok generation who’s likely ignorant of Public Enemy’s enormous impact in the late ’80s and early ’90s, can Google the lyrics for a better understanding. Like Chuck often points out, everyone has a tiny computer in their pockets these days.

Ice Cube’s verse, for example, begins, “Ice Cube is down with the P.E/Now every single b#### wanna see me/Big Daddy is smooth, word to mother/Let’s check out a flick that exploits the color/Roaming through Hollywood late at night/Red and blue lights what a common sight/Pulled to the curb, getting played like a sucker/Don’t fight the power, the m###########

Chuck D even starts the song with, “Burn Hollywood burn I smell a riot/Goin’ on — first they’re guilty, now they’re gone,” an obvious reference to the Watts rebellion he mentioned in his post.

The L.A. fires began on Thursday (January 7) in the Pacific Palisades area, just west of downtown Los Angeles. Five other fires sprouted up—the Sunset Fire, Kenneth Fire, Lidia Fire, Eaton Fire and Hurst Fire. On Saturday (January 11), Gov. Gavin Newsom provided an update: the Sunset Fire is at 100 percent containment, Lidia at 75 percent, Hurst at 37 percent and Kenneth at 35 percent. The most dangerous and destructive, the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire, are at 8 and 3 percent, respectively.

Famous Richard Thrown In Jail After Dancing With Gun On Social Media

Famous Richard traded viral fame for federal detention earlier this week after he was busted for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

The charges stem from a heated Fourth of July altercation outside a Bayonne, New Jersey, gas station that escalated into threats involving a gun, prosecutors said.

Law enforcement alleges Famous Richard brandished a handgun with an extended magazine during an argument at the gas station, threatening to open fire—an act that would later make an encore appearance on his social media.

In one now-deleted video, prosecutors contend, Famous Richard danced with the same firearm days after the incident.

Authorities followed up on July 12 with a judicially approved search of his home and vehicle, which unearthed a loaded Beretta M9 semi-automatic handgun with its serial number removed and an extended clip containing 24 bullets, according to court documents.

The 25-year-old aspiring drill rapper, who’s amassed more than 360,000 YouTube subscribers and over 443,000 Instagram followers, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge André M. Espinosa in Newark federal court, where he was ordered detained.

The count against him, carrying a firearm as a felon, could mean up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 if convicted.

Famous Richard’s arrest marks the latest in a growing list of confrontations with law enforcement.

The Bayonne native, who initially gained traction in rap circles for his song “On The Run,” has faced 12 prior arrests, including three tied to allegations of illegal gun possession.

While his lyrics and online antics paint a picture of rebellion, they’ve repeatedly landed him in situations where fantasy clashes with federal law.

And Famous Richard is no stranger to controversy.

Before his arrest, Famous Richard’s moody vlogs and swagger-filled posts often straddled the line between performance art and provocation—even filming confrontations with New York police and uploading them to TikTok.

Dilla Day Turns Into Eaton Fire Benefit Show As Los Angeles Continues To Burn

Dilla Day L.A. has evolved into a benefit show for those affected by the Eaton Fire currently burning in Los Angeles. The annual event takes place on February 8 at 961 E. 61st Street in L.A. Daru Jones, regular drummer for Jack White and Slum Village collaborator, shared more details to his Instagram account on Friday (January 10).

As noted on the flyer, Dilla Day will be helmed by J Dilla’s mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancy, and feature performances by Slum Village, Frank-N-Dank, Guilty Simpson, Phat Kat, Wild Child of Lootpack, DJ Shortkut, Daru Jones, J. Rocc of the Beat Junkies, Mr. E, DJ LaLa and DJ Chuck.

Jones wrote in the caption, “Sending love and strength to everyone impacted by the LA and California fires right now. My heart goes out to those facing loss and uncertainty during this difficult time. Stay safe, take care of each other, and know that brighter days are ahead. You’re not alone. We’re all in this together.”

The first wildfire broke out in the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday (January 7) and started decimating everything in its path. As of Friday night, it’s only 8 percent contained. Four other fires sprouted up as well, including the Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire, Lidia Fire and Eaton Fire. At least eleven people have died and tens of thousands of people have been evacuated. Many have lost their homes, cars and everything they owned, plunging L.A. into a state of emergency.

Evacuation orders were also expanded for the areas near the Palisades Fire. The evacuation order is in effect from Sunset Boulevard North to Encino Reservoir and from the 405 Freeway West to Mandeville Canyon. The area was previously in an evacuation warning zone and has now been upgraded to a mandatory evacuation order. Evacuation warnings were also expanded for areas east of the 405 Freeway.

Needless to say, this is the worst natural disaster in L.A County history. As a result, many in the music community have stepped up to lend a hand. For example, the Recording Academy and MusiCares have pledged $1 million in fire relief aid for those who work in the industry, while Live Nation has agreed to cover costs for any of its employees who need to evacuate.

Lonzo Ball Says Brother LiAngelo’s Music Gets More Play Than Lil Baby’s New Album

Lonzo Ball claims he’s bumping his brother LiAngelo’s, also known as G3, music over Lil Baby’s new deluxe album, WHAM!

Zo made the claim during the latest episode of the What An Experience podcast with his brother, Dmo, and their associate Anthony Salazar. Lonzo kicked off the discussion by asking his co-hosts their thoughts on Lil Baby’s latest project.

However, before the crew could truly get knee-deep in their discussion about Lil Baby’s album, Zo couldn’t help but big up his brother’s viral anthem, “Tweaker.” As Lonzo asked his co-hosts for their opinion on the album, which features heavyweights such as Future and Young Thug, his constituents revealed they are consistently pressing play on G3’s records rather than the latter.

“I’ve been banging G3’s music for the last 72 hours, man,” Dmo said wasting no time sharing his preference.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Salazar echoed the sentiment, saying, “I’ve been listening to G3zy.”

He added, “That’s what I’ve been bumping. But I did give the Lil Baby album a listen. I’m gonna be honest, there’s no songs that really stuck out to me to where I’m like, ‘damn, I’m spinning on replay.’ But you know what we’ve been listening to over here, ZO?”

Lonzo admitted he was on the same page. “Hey, I’m not even mad at you, bro, because I’m the same way,” he said in part.

Much like Salazar, Zo did admit that he had attempted to tune into Lil Baby’s album, albeit, he wasn’t necessarily impressed by the LP. “I mean, I heard the Future and Thug feature,” he said. “It was cool. I like the ‘Streets Colder.’ That’s cool. But those are really the only two I tapped into, to be honest.”

When pressed by Dmo on whether he’d fully listened to the album, Lonzo dropped a bombshell. “Nah, I haven’t, but like Bank said, if I open my phone, it’s just been G [G3].”

Zo continued to praise his brother’s work ethic and catalog, making it clear that he’s been listening to his music long before the world caught on. “I already listen to G throughout my day regularly anyway, because of all the music that he got,” he said, to which LiAngelo added, “I’ve been listening to myself sometimes, fool, I like tapping in.”

Lonzo wasn’t done hyping his younger brother’s music career. “I ain’t gonna lie, hot take, hot take — I got G being newcomer of the year in the music industry, bro,” he said. “He that fire, bro. And I already know how much he got in the vault, so it’s like, Freshman XXL, G.”

Lonzo’s bold prediction for his brother might not be far off, either, based on the attention “Tweaker” is getting online. In addition to mainstream artists such as Moneybagg Yo and Boosie Badazz expressing their interests in being on the remix of the song, social media users noticed that LiAngelo’s song is streaming higher than a number of the records released on Lil Baby’s new album.

The Top Video Game Soundtracks Ever

With today’s technologies, video gaming can be an incredibly immersive and intense experience, often making the player feel like they are really in the world of the game. From RV headsets that allow players to look around and feel like they are in the virtual environment, to subversive sound systems that integrate with gaming chairs to block out any background noise and distractions.

However, one of the most powerful aspects of the gaming environment is the music. Music in gaming is used to convey critical points in the game where something is about to happen, the game is coming to an end, or an adventure is beginning. The music can convey tension, happiness, sadness, shock and many other emotions that the game creators want gamers to feel.

At some point or another, many of us have experienced the sound of not working on a game or a movie. The fact of the matter is that without the sound, the experience is lost on us. Sound conveys such meaning that without it, the content of the game does not have impact on us as players and we lose interest or cannot even play.

Below, we will look at how soundtracks affect video games, alongside reviewing some of the greatest gaming soundtracks of all time.

How Music Elicits Certain Moods in Gamers

Imagine you’re in the world of Minecraft, it’s nighttime, the stars are out, there’s a gentle wind in the trees and the moon is casting a light down on you as you walk through the grasslands. The music is lightheaded and serene, a little like elevator music, making you feel at ease and ready for a relaxed evening in the world of Minecraft.

Now imagine the exact same scene, only tense and fast paced music now begins. You immediately get a sense of danger and have the instinct to run as far away from that area as you can because a creeper is probably around. The music notifies you of impending danger and gets your adrenaline racing.

These scenes are exactly the same to begin with, only the music tells us how we should be feeling and gives us an idea of what to expect coming up. In this sense, gaming soundtracks are incredibly important for setting the mood of the game and appropriating the scene. Imagine a battle arena game, only the music is smooth jazz, all tension and excitement is gone and the scene becomes more comical than tense and exciting. Without the right soundtracks, the meaning of a video game is lost on the gamer.

Games with Music Themes

Some games are even themed around certain soundtracks, like musically themed slot games. Many online slot games have exciting themes, such as those based on musicals like Mamma Mia or Wicked. There are also slot games themed around famous musicians and bands, such as The Beatles themed slot game or a rock music themed game.

For gamers who really love music, there’s often a slot game to suit their musical interests, making the game even more fun and exciting. Many of these games can be found at these verified real money online casinos.

Other games feature the ability for players to get involved in the music and sing along or play a real-life musical instrument such as Garage Band on Apple, or Wii Sing which allows players to plug in a microphone and sing along with their favourite artists.

The Top Gaming Soundtracks

Now that we’ve established just how important soundtracks are in games, let’s take a look at some of the best gaming soundtracks of all time.

  1. Crypt of the Necrodancer (2015)

Crypt of the Necrodancer is a spooky electronic rock soundtrack that accompanies players as they move through monster-infested dungeons. The incredible energy depicted in each track makes the game incredibly exciting.

  1. Donkey Kong Country – Diddy’s Kong Quest (1995)

The Donkey Kong Country games are known for their legendary soundtracks, making it hard to pick a favourite, but Diddy Kong Quest really does stand out. Diddy’s quest takes on a cathay pirate theme soundtrack with flute accompaniment and sax medleys throughout. The music infuses an essence of jungle mixes, oceanic rhythms and industrial factory beats from the original games, while taking on a completely new melody of its own, making it a legendary soundtrack for the DOnkey Kong series.

Overall, soundtracks hold incredible power over the success or demise of a videogame. If the soundtrack isn’t good, then the rest of the game doesn’t work either as the soundtrack ties everything together. From setting the scene, to depicting tense or exciting moments, to creating fear and adrenaline in the player, the soundtracks used in a game are essentially the coding for how it should be played.

Ex-Bad Boy Artist Claims He Saw Diddy Kiss Male Music Industry Figure

Chopper, a former member of Sean “Diddy” CombsMaking the Band group Da Band, has weighed in on the allegations against the embattled Bad Boy founder, claiming he has witnessed incidents that lend credibility to the accusations.

The New Orleans native addressed his time with Diddy during a recent interview with the Art of Dialogue.

He began by speculating about Diddy’s sexuality, suggesting he’s “bisexual” and likes to “play a lot in life.”

Chopper recounted an incident when he witnessed Puffy “tonguing down” a “powerful” male figure in the music industry, although he did not name the mystery man.

He claimed, “I walked in the studio and seen two powerful men doing things that was uncomfortable to my eyes.”

Despite his initial remarks, Chopper declared, “Yes, f###### right that n#### gay!” adding, “But I don’t think someone being gay is bad. If that’s their preference, that’s their preference.”

He claims the label executives gave him special treatment following the incident, but things were never the same.

“It f##### me up…I looked at Diddy differently after that,” Chopper said. “I wasn’t feeling that Bad Boy s### no more.”

Last September, Freddy P accused the rapper and producer of “literally assaulting men.” He claimed Diddy “approaches these guys going through financial situations,” stating, “he preys on you.”

Freddy P believes alleged victims felt obligated to remain silent because Diddy has provided so much for so many people.

“It’s a lot of rappers out here that have secrets because they fell into these situations with Puffy,” he said. “I know this personally.”

Ferg Says He “Is ASAP” Even Though A$AP Mob Is “Thing Of The Past”

Ferg focused on where he’s going, and while he doesn’t want to forget from which he came, he also has no desire to go back to his humble beginnings.

On Friday (January 10), the Harlem native appeared in a new episode of the Touré show and spoke at length about a number of topics including his 2024 album DAROLD. Within the opening minutes of the nearly hour-long interview, a clip of Ferg strongly denying the active existence of ASAP as a collective immediately comes into focus.

In addition to claiming he himself represent the mob, details why ASAP is no longer a living and breathing collective as it once was. The conversation started after Ferg revealed part of his inspiration for his recent banger “Thought I Was Dead” was to make an anthem to prove haters within his crew wrong.

“You know, people came out and said I wasn’t apart of A$AP no more,” Ferg said in part.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

When pressed on his view of whether or not he’s still a member of A$AP Mob, Ferg went on to provide a complicated answer. “Well I am ASAP I made ASAP me along with Rocky and you know the founders who built it, rest in peace ASAP Yams,” he said.

He provided a point-for-point explanation of why he thinks the once lively collective is now defunct. “I don’t think there is ASAP anymore,” he said. “It’s like it’s not a Cozy Tape out. It’s not a new one. It’s not an office. It’s not a record label. ASAP Worldwide is not a record label.”

As Ferg added to his sentiments he laid out his opinion of why he believes ASAP is somewhat of a nostalgic comfort item for fans. “I think it’s a thing of the past,” he said. “I think people hold onto the legacy that we created and those things.”

Driving his point home, Ferg remarked on his contribution to ASAP Mob, revealing how he feels about the blueprint he and ASAP Rocky left behind. “But when you think about ASAP, I think from the music point, you think about like me and Rocky [ASAP Rocky] who like did the music and all of that,” he said. “Of course, it was built off the backs of like Bari [ASAP Bari] and Yams and all of that but like we’re the faces. So like I feel like if we’re not making no music and putting out no new time stamps then there’s no ASAP.”

Ferg concluded with, “So right now it’s Ferg, it’s Ferg apparel, it’s the Ferg empire it’s DAROLD. It’s everything dealing with this individual right here.”

The “Work” rapper did go on to say that he still maintains contact with key A$AP Mob members such as Twelvy, Nast and of course Rocky, however he made it clear that everyone has their own separate lanes they occupy.

While Ferg may believe the dissolution of A$AP was amicable for everyone, it appears as though not all members feel that way. Last August, Bari, who created several brands such as Vlone, claimed he never made a dime off of A$AP Mob even though he created the collective.

Common & Pete Rock Facing Potential Lawsuit From Outspoken OG MC Shan?

Let’s talk about MC Shan. He’s Queensbridge royalty and a certified Hip-Hop legend. He’s one of those figures who paved the way for not just Queensbridge rap but also Hip-Hop as a whole. He gave us “The Bridge,” a track so iconic it sparked one of the greatest beefs in Hip-Hop history.

KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions took him to task, but what they did will never been forgotten. In 2024, Shan is known for being realer than real. That brings us to the drama unfolding.

The Issue: Pete Rock & Common Apparently Sampled “The Bridge”

So, Pete Rock and Common sampled “The Bridge” on “Wise Up” from their Grammy Award-nominated album THE AUDITORIUM VOL 1. MC Shan claims he didn’t see a dime from the sample usage, even though he owns his publishing. Shan hopped on Instagram with one of his classic, unfiltered rants and he put Pete Rock and Common on notice.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by MC SHAN (@theofficialmcshan)

The caption in all caps should have us calling Shan “Captain”—because it is a lot.

WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW IS I OWN THE PUBLISHING ON THE BRIDGE SO IT’S A BIGGER INFRINGEMENT THAN JUST YOU TAKING MY VOICE AND SAMPLE IN A BEAT I OWN THE PUBLISHING SON.

“I USUALLY STAY QUIET ON THINGS THAT’S NOT MY BUSINESS OR WHEN I SEE A MAN SCREAMING FOUL THAT DOES THE SAME THING AND ACT LIKE HE SHOULD BE PAID AND I SHOULDN’T YOU BETTER GO GET THAT MONEY BACK FROM HOMAGE SON CUZ HE DIDN’T KNOCK ON MY DOING CUT ME IN ON NOTHING.. AND JUST LIKE YOU WERE ABLE TO GET YOUR MONEY GUESS WHO’S GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET THEIRS…”

Now here is the weird part. Last year, Shan says he got paid and also called the duo “men of respect.

MC Shan Calls Common & Pete Rock “Men Of Respect” After Getting Surprise Check

Here’s the tricky part. Shan acknowledges that Common and Pete probably cleared the sample through the “proper” channels, but the money somehow didn’t trickle down to him. Shan seems very confident that he knows his business.

The Bigger Picture

It’s wild to see OGs in the game clashing like this. Pete Rock is a legend, Common is a legend and Shan is a legend. Pete and Common Sense aren’t the types to intentionally shortchange an artist they are paying homage to, so I hope they clear it up.

Chance The Rapper Ex-Wife Kirsten Agree To Co-Parent After Divorce

Chance the Rapper and his estranged wife, Kirsten Corley, have officially dissolved their marriage, wrapping up a nine-month-long separation that began when they first announced their breakup.

Legal documents filed in Cook County, Illinois, confirmed that the Grammy-winning artist, born Chancelor Bennett, and Corley have reached an agreement to finalize their split.

The filing states their relationship is “irretrievably broken,” with Corley acknowledging in court papers that the two have been living apart for more than six months.

Corley, who reviewed and approved the settlement, described the terms as a “fair and equitable resolution.”

However, specific details of the arrangement remain private.

The couple, who tied the knot in a scenic Newport Beach, California ceremony in 2019, share two daughters: Kensli, 9, and Marli, 5.

Declaring family as their priority, the pair reaffirmed their commitment to co-parenting in a joint statement when news of their separation broke earlier this year.

“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together,” the statement read. “We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.”

Chance and Corley’s journey traces back to their childhoods, where they first met years before embarking on a romantic relationship.

The two reconnected as adults in 2012 during the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, sparking a romance that would later lead to an engagement in 2018.

Despite the dissolution of their marriage, the former couple has placed their daughters’ well-being at the forefront, opting to move forward in a cooperative manner.

The court’s approval brings closure to their legal proceedings, ending their marriage but solidifying their roles as co-parents to Kensli and Marli.

Former Da Band Rapper Chopper Details Diddy’s Hate For 2Pac & Keefe D Bail Theory

Former Making Da Band star Chopper (Young City) isn’t holding back when it comes to his experiences with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In a candid interview with The Art Of Dialogue, Chopper shared an anecdote that revealed just how deep Diddy’s disdain for 2Pac ran. He also offered his own speculative theory on why the incarcerated music mogul remains in jail as he awaits trial on a federal indictment for sex trafficking and racketeering.

To kick things off, Chopper recalled a tense moment during which Diddy seemingly attempted to erase his love for the West Coast MC. “I remember one time, he was like, ‘Who did you grow up listening to?’ I’m like, 2Pac,” Chopper said in part. “I ain’t mentioned Biggie [Biggie Smalls].”

The response apparently did not sit well with Diddy and triggered a bizarre pattern of retaliatory actions, according to Chopper.

“He didn’t even talk to me for like four days after that,” he revealed. “Everything with Pac, you couldn’t say Pac was anything better than Biggie. You can’t put them in the same realm or nothing. It was all about Biggie.”

According to Chopper, Diddy’s obsession with Biggie went so far that he ended up forcing the crew to recite the lyrics to one of Biggie’s most iconic tracks.

“I ain’t know, um, ‘It was all a dream,’ [‘Juicy’],” he said. “I ain’t know the whole song. I knew a couple of words, maybe the first verse. But he made us recite the whole thing. I don’t think Biggie would’ve even cared about that, but Diddy hated everything about 2Pac. Hated his guts.”

Choppa shared his belief that the charges the Bad Boy executive faces are part of a larger scheme when asked about Diddy’s ongoing incarceration.

“Honestly, bro, I think the real reason why they ain’t gonna let Puffy out is because they trying to connect that Keefe D situation with Puffy,” he said, referencing the former gang member tied to 2Pac’s 1996 murder.

Choppa speculated that Diddy’s legal troubles go beyond the federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. “If it came down to some sex trafficking foolishness and all those trumped-up charges, they couldn’t prove it, I don’t think they got no evidence,” he said. “They’re trying to keep him in there to lock in the Keefe D situation with Puff. That’s the only reason why he’s still in jail right now.”

Chopper rose to fame as part of the MTV reality series Making Da Band, which aired from 2002 to 2009 under Diddy’s direction. He was featured in seasons two and three, which documented the creation of Da Band and their rise in the music industry. Those seasons were massive hits, drawing an average of 3.5 million viewers per episode and solidifying the show as one of MTV’s most-watched programs during its run.

Jim Jones, Cam’ron & Ma$e Fuel Social Media Fire With Explosive Posts

The tension between Jim Jones and Cam’ron and Ma$e appears to be escalating amid days of shot-throwing.

A recent Capo interview ruffled the “It Is What It Is” podcast host’s feathers, sparking a flurry of responses teasing an epic upcoming episode of their show.

On Friday (January 10), the duo shared multiple clips on the podcast’s Instagram account of Jim Jones praising Ma$e for teaching him “how to rap.”

“HOOKAH, CIGARETTES, CIGARS, WE WITH ALL THE SMOKE,” the caption reads. “THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. WE KEEP ALL RECEIPTS.”

Cam’ron and Ma$e also dismissed Jim Jones’ recent remarks about the early days of their friendship, posting a throwback photo of themselves standing on a stoop in New York.

Jim Jones Responds To Cam’ron & Ma$e

Jim Jones also made several posts alluding to the drama, stating, “After they laugh at th lies th Truth still hurts,” in one.

Another post featured a bombshell allegation from someone claiming Cam’ron allowed Jim Jones to be jumped in Harlem by eight men. They also alluded to an alleged scuffle between Cam and Tru Life back in the day, suggesting Jones had his fellow Dipset member’s back.

The back-and-forth stemmed from Jones’ recent remarks about his past issues with Cam, saying, “It started with Ma$e.”

During an interview with Justin Laboy Capo claimed he Ma$e would “s### on Cam… all the time,” referring to them as “so-called best friends.”

Jim Jones then explained the root of his issues with Ma$e, insisting his treatment of Cam’ron sparked the bad blood.

Elsewhere during the interview, Jones had harsh words for Cam’ron and 50 Cent.

“Get off my dick!” he said, reacting to Cam and 50 Cent discussing Fif bringing Capo onstage at a G-Unit show amid heavy internal tension at Dipset.

However, it appears Cam’ron and Ma$e will respond on their podcast, hinting at an explosive episode on Monday (January 13.)

They promised a “movie,” noting that peace is “a lesson for another day.”

Eazy The Block Captain Abruptly Ends Livestream After Insisting “N*ggas Are Mad” He Got Remy Ma

Rising battle rap star Eazy The Block Captain is issuing a call to action to the Hip-Hop world to give him his flowers during a recent live stream.

On Friday (January 10), a video clip of Eazy’s livestream went viral after fans began clamoring over his remark about winning the affections of veteran rapper Remy Ma. His comments added fuel to the fire surrounding Remy’s strained relationship with her husband Papoose, who Eazy appeared to sneak diss in the rant.

Eazy began the stream in bold fashion, addressing what he believes is at the root of the criticism he has been receiving recently. “N*ggas is really mad that when they go to sleep at night and I wake up, we both wake up, it’s like we doing better than them n*ggas,” Eazy said.

Eazy went on to directly challenge his detractors to admit the real reason behind their animosity. “I just want one real n*gga to just keep it a bean and say, ‘Yo, we’re mad that you got Rem [Remy Ma] and we didn’t,’” he said. That’s what y’all n*ggas is mad at, bro.”

The live stream came to an unexpected end just as things reached a boiling point. “It’s a bunch of n*ggas who don’t like me for no reason because I got a b*tch—excuse me,” he said, pausing to restart his sentence. The live stream suddenly ended shortly after, leaving viewers buzzing with questions and theories.

Eazy’s remarks arrive at an interesting intersection of recent events which has drawn further scrutiny to his relationship with Remy Ma. Earlier this month a clip of Eazy using Papoose’s signature Alphabet slaughter flow to take shots at him and boast about winning over Remy Ma during a rap battle went viral. In the video, Remy Ma also clearly professes her love for Eazy.

However, a new AllHipHop report has uncovered details about Papoose’s alleged attack on Eazy that casts a bit of shade on his proverbial victory lap. Apparently the New York native shouted “Brooklyn” before allegedly knocking the Philadelphia lyricist out after discovering his affair with Remy Ma.

Kanye West Drops “Vultures” Movie Trailer—And People Either Hate It Or Love It

Kanye West dropped a black-and-white trailer for his newly announced film, Vultures the Movie—but most people weren’t impressed.

The controversial artist shared an Instagram posted on Friday (January 10) that was reminiscent of a 1930s horror film. Zombies, wrestlers, freaky bird creatures and weird blow up-looking dolls littered the clip. He wrote in caption simply, “VULTURES THE MOVIE.”

Nearly every comment that followed condemned West for using artificial intelligence to create it. “Bro please stop this AI b#######,” one person wrote, while another said, “Please take AI away from Unc” and yet another added, “STOP USING AI FOR GODS SAKE.”

Some made fun of what appeared to be AI versions of Kodak Black and Rich the Kid, who are armed with guns in the trailer.

But, par for the course, there was at least one person who applauded the move, writing, “I think he realized that AI is the future and instead of fighting it he’s embracing it. I personally won’t use AI for song creating but I’m not 100% against AI films. Feel bad for those in the film industry in this particular instance but every market is going to be impacted by AI eventually. It can’t be ignored. At this point I think an AI is probably behind the rollout of AI. Ye just ahead of the curve again.”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign released Vultures 1 in February 2024. The trailer for the project was released the month before and told a dark story of a suburban city taken over by cultists and filled with murderous clowns, ravenous crows and wolf men.

Guest appearances included West’s daughter North, India Love, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Nipsey Hussle, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Bump J, Lil Durk, Rich the Kid and Chris Brown. Production was primarily handled by West and Ty Dolla $ign with assistance from Legendary Traxster, 88-Keys, Camper, JPEGMafia, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Ojivolta, Chrishan and Anthony Kilhoffer, among others.

Although the project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it was West’s second-lowest first week sales with 148,000 album-equivalent units. Vultures 2 followed in August 2024 and debuted at No. 2. A third installment is expected but has failed to materialize. He’s supposedly working on another album called Bully. But Kanye being Kanye, there’s no telling what will actually land. In the meantime, it seems his focus is on the Vultures movie and celebrating his wife’s 30th birthday.

In any event, watch the trailer above and another clip he shared earlier this week below.

SIGNS: “Incarcerated Firefighters” Battle Cali Blazes, Giving Modern-Day Slavery Vibes

Keep all the people of California and the Los Angeles area in our prayers.

As I’m scrolling through the latest news about the wildfire infernos tearing through Los Angeles, something caught my attention: the term “incarcerated firefighters.” At first, I was confused—how are so many firefighters behind bars? Are we talking about actual firefighters who ended up incarcerated for unrelated reasons? Turns out, not exactly.

These “incarcerated firefighters” are inmates—prisoners—being sent out to battle California’s raging wildfires. More than 500 of them are risking their lives to save people and property. This isn’t a new practice, but it’s still controversial. They’re earning a measly $26 a day. They put their lives on the line, only to head back to a cell once their shift ends. It makes some sense because I’m sure some are just looking to feel “alive” or get outside.

The deeper you dig, the more problematic this becomes. Government spending on professional firefighting has been slashed, specifically in L.A., leaving these inmates to fill the gaps. They may be heroes now, but that’s not the point. This isn’t just about firefighting. This is about exploiting a vulnerable population, those we may not care about. They risk their lives because they are broke or broken. They don’t even get a decent payout from the prison, but I bet the prison gets paid nicely for donating their “relatively free labor.” If this doesn’t give off modern-day slavery vibes, I don’t know what does.

And the madness doesn’t stop there. Reports are surfacing about insurance companies potentially pulling out of these disaster-prone areas. The other result could be jacking up premiums so high that regular folks can’t afford them. It’s a one-two punch of injustice for communities already devastated by fire and smoke. By the way, this includes places like Florida that have disasters often.

To everyone out in California dealing with this chaos, stay strong. And to the incarcerated brothers and sisters fighting to save lives while locked in a broken system, keep your heads up. This system might be unjust, but your bravery speaks volumes.

Lastly…

R.I.P. Victor Shaw. The 66-year old tragically lost his life while trying to protect his family’s 55-year-old home during the Eaton Fire. He refused to evacuate, even thought he had health issues. A family friend discovered his remains the following morning. Heartbreaking. Our deepest condolences go out to his family. Please take care of yourself. We can replace financial and material goods.

Cypress Hill Opens Dr. Greenthumbs For Donations To Aid In L.A. Fire Relief

Cypress Hill is among the many artists lending a hand to anyone affected by the devastating fires currently consuming Los Angeles.

On Friday (January 10), Cypress Hill, B-Real and their dispensary, Dr. Greenthumbs, collaborated on an Instagram post, encouraging people to donate items at their store on Wilshire Boulevard. The post read: “We are extremely devastated and saddened with the outcome of the fire. At this time, we’re now taking donations in effort of helping those who were affected.

“Stop by and drop off some items like blankets, clothes, toiletries, snacks, etc. Donations will be dropped off to evacuation shelters and more.” Anyone interested and who’s in the area can head to 12235 Wilshire Boulevard, where people will be on deck to collect each donation.

B-Real previously shared information for evacuation shelters, which can be found below. Per local news outlets, at least 153,000 people remain under evacuation orders. The first of five wildfires, the Palisades Fire, ignited on Tuesday (January 7) and quickly wreaked havoc on the Pacific Palisades area, just west of downtown Los Angeles.

Four other fires sprung up all over L.A., including near Hollywood, and are being identified as the Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire, Lidia Fire and Eaton Fire.  At least 10 people have died, and the death toll is expected to rise once it’s deemed safe to go inside certain neighborhoods.

The music community, which is heavily centralized in the West Coast metropolis, has stepped up in droves to support each other. The Recording Academy and MusiCares have pledged $1 million in fire relief aid for those who work in the industry, while Live Nation has agreed to cover costs for any of its employees who need to evacuate.

That’s just a small sliver of the kind of care people are offering. As of Friday, 37 percent of the Hurst Fire—located in the San Fernando Valley—has been contained. The Kenneth Fire, which broke out Thursday (January 9), is 35 percent contained and holding at 1,000 acres burned. The deadly Eaton Fire burning north of Altadena has burned 13,956 acres with containment at just 3 percent, while the largest L.A. County wildfire, the Palisades Fire, was at 20,438 acres Friday morning with containment at 8 percent.
