Nikki D: The Tough Road, Tough Love & Female Empowerment In Hip-Hop

Nikki D stepped onto the Hip-Hop scene and left an indelible mark at a time when there were very few female spitters out. While her name may not resonate as loudly as some of her contemporaries, Nikki D’s ability to break through with a combination of brute force and social savvy has paved a way for scores of young talents. But, that question is: do they know?

Recently, Nikki D made headlines after ranting about “the prostitution era” in Hip-Hop, talking directly about numerous women in popular Hip-Hop. The response was mixed. One thing that cannot be debated is that the New Jersey native helped kick down a door without the benefit of a co-sign. In the late 80s and early 90s, rap was predominantly a male-dominated industry. Her mere presence challenged the status quo and helped break down gender barriers. She was the very first woman signed to iconic Def Jam Records.

OG MC Nikki D Explains Problems With Female Rappers Like Ice Spice & Megan Thee Stallion

One of Nikki D’s defining moments was her 1990 hit single, “Daddy’s Little Girl.” The song was more than just a hit; it carried a powerful message of empowerment and self-respect. The album of the same name failed to do big numbers for several reasons, outlined in our interview. But her efforts were not in vain. Nikki D’s pioneering contributions laid a foundation for subsequent generations of female artists. MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, her peers in rap, demonstrated that women could thrive and excel in Hip-Hop. Her legacy lives on in the countless female MCs who have followed in her footsteps.

While Nikki D may not have achieved the same commercial success or widespread recognition as some of her peers, she is a priceless, invaluable part of Hip-Hop’s history. Her journey is an inspiration, a stark reminder that determination, talent, and a indomitable spirit can leave a lasting mark.

Hassan Campbell Shows Us The Bullet & Alleged Proof He Was Shot

The Critics and Haters might have to eat this one!

Hassan Campbell‘s recent hospitalization sent shockwaves through the online community, acting as a stark reminder that YouTube and the streets are very different. The Bronx native was reportedly shot, but the streets almost instantly called “cap,” because of the way the video played out. It really did not seem like he was blasted. Luckily, doctors successfully removed the bullet. This effectively dispelled any doubts about the the incident.

Like I said, some online critics speculated that Hassan faked the entire event. This turn of events has silenced those skeptics, and really has to have us thinking about misinformation in Hip-Hop. This was pervasive as a rumor or news. We really did not know.

The Bronx is a tough place. Hassan Campbell is a dude that made his bones as “Poppy” in the streets. He’s also known as one of the alleged victims of Hip-Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa. He started his career as somebody fighting for kids in Hip-Hop. Why he’s trolling people outside of a housing project is weird to me. Nevertheless, this serves as a sobering reminder that sh#t is real.

I am glad he was not faking it. Look at this:

Did 50 Cent Leak Allegations In Cassie’s Lawsuit Against Diddy In 2010?

An audio clip that recently resurfaced may prove that 50 Cent had the drop on the allegations Cassie Ventura accused Diddy of in the bombshell lawsuit they just settled.

Just in case you missed it, Cassie sued Diddy in a Manhattan federal court on November 16, alleging years of rape and physical abuse. Among the numerous violent and disturbing claims outlined in the lawsuit, the allegation Diddy forced Cassie to have sexual intercourse with male prostitutes appear to be the source of a nearly 13-year-old audio clip that recently resurfaced.

In the clip currently circulating the web, 50 Cent appears to say he was sent graphic pictures of Cassie being “penetrated” by different male individuals.

“Check this out, on the up and up—the n#### Puff (Diddy) used to call, we used to kick it on the phone after the Ma$e s###t and the n###a would be like, matter of fact they sent me the pictures of his girl,” 50 Cent said in part. “Like not the s### that y’all saw, worse, way worse. Like penetration pictures.”

While it’s unclear when exactly the audio was first released, the now-viral clip circulating on Twitter claims the audio is from 2010. Check out the full video featuring the shocking audio of 50 Cent’s alleged call below.

Cassie’s Lawsuit Against Diddy Dismissed After Shockingly Swift Settlement

Almost as quickly as Cassie Ventura filed her bombshell lawsuit against Diddy (real name Sean Combs), the case was settled. Now, TMZ reports the case is officially dismissed. As the court documents explain: “Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, Plaintiff hereby dismisses this action, with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.” Ventura won’t be allowed to file again.

Ventura filed the lawsuit in a Manhattan federal court on Thursday (November 16), alleging rape, physical assault and a myriad of other wild accusations. Less than 24 hours, both parties revealed they “amicably” settled the lawsuit outside of court.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support,” while Diddy said, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

As social media blew up with reactions—mostly blaming Diddy and assuming he was guilty based on how fast he settled—Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, denied that was the case.

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” Brafman said. “Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

During the more than 10 years they dated, Ventura said Diddy provided her with “copious amounts of drugs,” including ecstasy and ketamine. The suit said he often became violent, beating her “multiple times each year.” The suit also noted Ventura never sought help from the police because she feared it “would merely give Mr. Combs another excuse to hurt her.”

In a 2012 incident described in the court papers, Ventura alleged Diddy grew so angry about her dating Kid Cudi that he said he would blow up his car: “Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.” Kid Cudi confirmed Ventura’s account through a spokesperson, saying, “This is all true.”

A$AP Rocky To Face Jury Trial Over 2021 Shooting As Prosecutors Introduce New Video Evidence

A$AP Rocky will be facing a jury trial on felony charges stemming from an alleged shooting that happened in 2021. On Monday (November 20), a judge ruled there’s enough evidence for Rocky’s case involving A$AP Relli. According to TMZ, Rocky will faces two counts of first-degree assault with a firearm and will be arraigned on January 8.

The major development in the case arrives following the hearing on November 20, during which prosecutors unveiled video of what they claim is Rocky holding a gun before he allegedly shot Relli. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detective Frank Flores testified that the police obtained the video during their investigation of the incident. In addition to the video, the prosecution also presented still photos that they claim depict Rocky with a gun along with another video clip they’ve alleged shows the two gunshots that were fired during the altercation.

Prior to the hearing on November 20, Relli testified against Rocky himself, claiming he and the “Riot” rapper’s relationship had soured in the time leading up to the incident. During another hearing on November 8, Relli testified that Rocky pulled out a gun and said, “I’ll kill you right now,” to which he replied, “Shoot that s###. Why you brought a gun if you’re not going to use it? You don’t scare me.”

Authorities weren’t able to recover shell casings from the scene of the incident, however Relli claims he returned to where the shooting occurred that same night and recovered two shell casings on his own. Reports also have confirmed that no fingerprints were found on the shell casing Relli turned over to authorities.

Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina claimed he has evidence that will be “devastating” to Relli’s case in a statement to the media immediately following the hearing.

“Common sense is going to prevail and we’re going to get him through this and he’s going to be vindicated,” Tacopina said in part. “The evidence we have that they don’t know about is going to be devastating.”

Ludacris Reveals Why He Hasn’t Dropped Album In Years; Teases Return To Music

Ludacris aims to return to music in 2024. The 46-year-old rapper/actor discussed why he took an eight-year-long break from music and focused on his acting career in a November 20 interview with BET.

“It was just taking a step back and getting hungry again, living some life,” he said. “’Cause when you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life. So, if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”

Ludacris has not released an album since 2015’s Ludaversal. He was unsure if his next project would be an album, but he vowed to deliver new music in 2024.

“Some music projects will be coming out next year,” he said. “I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. I don’t wanna be like [André] 3000 and say, ‘I got an album coming out.’ I don’t know. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out.”

Ludacris’ latest movie Dashing Through the Snow dropped on November 17. The holiday film is available to stream on Disney Plus.

50 Cent Keeps Foot On Diddy’s Neck With Cassie Lawsuit Settlement Joke

50 Cent continued his trolling of Diddy, whom Cassie sued for rape and physical abuse, in an Instagram post on Monday (November 20). The G-Unit leader shared a meme referencing the undisclosed amount Diddy paid Cassie to settle her bombshell lawsuit out of court.

“If I text you this, it means I want my money by tomorrow,” read the text alongside a photo of Cassie posing next to Diddy. 50 Cent added, “I’m not waiting till Monday,” in his Instagram caption.

50 Cent’s latest mockery of Diddy hit social media after the rapper/TV producer deleted previous Instagram comments about the settlement.

“LOL He paid that money real quick, should have done that before the sharks,” 50 Cent wrote in his since-deleted post. “Saw the blood in the water and here they come in 5,4,3,2,1 every woman he put his hand on.”

Cassie, whose real name is Cassandra Ventura, filed her lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Diddy in Manhattan federal court on November 16. She accused him of abusing her for years, including a 2018 incident in which he allegedly raped her. The two quickly announced a settlement on November 17.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Cassie’s attorney Douglas Wigdor added, “I’m very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit.”

Diddy released his own statement wishing Cassie and her family “all the best.” His lawyer Ben Brafman claimed the settlement was not an admission of guilt.

“Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims,” Brafman said. “He is happy they got to a mutual settlement.”

Brafman accused Cassie of a failed attempt to blackmail Diddy in his original response to the lawsuit. He said the complaint included “baseless” lies.

AMARNI Explains How She Linked With “Real Gangster” Baka Not Nice

AMARNI has made her mark overseas in Australia, and now she’s ready to break into the US market.

The singer-songwriter is best known for her confident, unapologetic style that fuses the genres of Hip Hop, R&B, and dancehall. Initially breaking out with her debut single, “Pretty Little Thing,” AMARNI continues to break down the boundaries in contemporary music. In fact, last year in 2022, AMARNI’s “Beyonce” made the Top 5 list of most played tracks on Instagram Reels. Pretty incredible for an independent artist!

Now, AMARNI is excited as ever to be releasing her newest single titled “LOVER BOY,” featuring Baka Not Nice. This serves as the first time the OVO artist has collaborated with a female artist. The record itself speaks volumes to AMARNI’s stance as a bad b#### who deserves it all, turning a thug into a “LOVER BOY.”

AllHipHop spoke with AMARNI to discuss the collaboration with Baka Not Nice, and attending French Montana’s birthday in Los Angeles.

AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for with the release of “LOVER BOY”?

AMARNI: I’m really excited for everyone to hear this new sound I’m doing. I’m really excited that I get to work with an OVO artist, Baka Not Nice. Just put something different out.

AllHipHop: What is this new sound?

AMARNI: It’s more my soft girl era. It’s more girly, it’s more pop.

AllHipHop: How’d you meet Baka Not Nice initially?

AMARNI: We met at an event in LA. He’s my good friend. I really f### with him and what he’s doing. I respect him as a person and what he stands on.

AllHipHop: How did “LOVER BOY” come about? Did you make it with him in mind?

AMARNI: No actually, I had already made the song. I showed him the song, I almost made the song as if I knew him. Because knowing his story and his background, it fit perfectly.

AllHipHop: You went to Toronto to shoot the video. What can we expect?

AMARNI: Something lit. [laughs] The trip in Toronto was great. It was an experience. I’ve always wanted to go there and experience it. I listen to a lot of music about the place. All of my favorite artists from Toronto: Justin Bieber, Tory Lanez, Drake. To experience it and drive around the streets, hear and see all the places that they’ve been talking about — that I’ve been seeing on TV for so long, that was really cool. It was a moment.

AllHipHop: What do you want fans to take away from “LOVER BOY”?

AMARNI: Keep turning these thugs into lover boys. [laughs] Something I want them to take away from “LOVER BOY” would be to really really control the narrative themselves. It’s all about perspective with a man. Perfect example: Baka is a real life gangster, and he’s never done a song with a female artist. I made that happen because it’s about energy and perspective, and the way you put things out there. Our intention I guess.

AllHipHop: How honored are you to be the first female artist Baka Not Nice has collaborated with?

AMARNI: I’m very grateful, it’s special. I like always doing things that haven’t been done before. This sound is a new sound for him too, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to come together and put this song out.

AllHipHop: What else can we expect? You’re putting out an EP right?

AMARNI: Yeah, I got an EP coming out that I’ve been working on. You could expect all the flavors, you’re gonna get everything from me. I’m really going to show my versatility on the project and it’s for a boss. There’s one if you’re hating your man, there’s one if you’re loving him. There’s one for every feeling, so I’m excited for that to come out.

AllHipHop: How was it attending French Montana’s birthday? What was the highlight?

AMARNI: Super fun. Got to meet a lot of people. You speak to a lot of people on social media, but to meet them in person, spend time with them and build is really cool. Of course, I love the Moroccan theme of the party. I’m Lebanese, so it’s close and made me feel like I was at home. When I’m at home, I’m very cultured. I like to express my culture. I like to go to hookah lounges, we call it shisha. I like to do that kind of stuff. I like to be around my people. It was really cool to see that side to LA, that I haven’t really seen much. Happy birthday French!

AllHipHop: Anything else you want people to know that you’re excited?

AMARNI: Don’t sleep on me.

Young Thug Fails In Bid To Get RICO Case Thrown Out Ahead Of Trial

A Georgia judge rejected Young Thug’s motion to dismiss his RICO indictment a week before the scheduled start of his trial. Defense attorney Brian Steel was unable to convince Judge Ural Glanville of any faults in the language of the indictment at a hearing on Monday (November 20).

“Mr. Williams is innocent of all charges in the above-referenced indictment,” Steel wrote in the motion. “The grand jury wrongfully re-indicted Mr. Williams in the above-reference case on or about October 5, 2022 in count one – conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act; count 56 and 57 – participation in criminal street gang activity; counts 58, 59 and 60 – violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act; count 61 – possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; and count 62 – possession of a machine gun.”

Steel argued for dismissal by saying the grand jury failed to properly accuse Young Thug of knowingly committing the allegations in the RICO indictment. Judge Glanville determined there was nothing wrong with the wording of the indictment.

“I find that the state’s indictment tracks the language of the statute and is sufficient therein for counts one, 56, 57, 58, 59 and 60, 61 and 62 as it pertains to the state versus Mr. Jeffery Williams,” the judge said. “For those reasons, the court is going to deny the defendant’s plea and bar motion to dismiss general demurrer.”

Young Thug will be able to appeal Judge Glanville’s ruling, but the judge noted it “won’t stop the trial of this matter.” Opening statements in the YSL RICO trial are scheduled to begin on November 27.

5 Super-Cool YouTube Music Tips and Tricks

Once Plato said, ‘Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything’. This holds so true because music in itself is healing, and no matter what culture or region we belong to, we are touched by it.

With music being an integral part of life, we can’t hold ourselves from investing in music applications, which make it feasible to stream music from all periods and regions of the world. There is a long list of music streaming applications that feature thousands of artists from around the world and music from each nook and cranny.

However, if you are not sold on major music streaming apps, then YouTube Music can be a good bet. With unlimited streaming services, it stands out among most of the most popular music streaming applications.

It does not only provide music, but mashups, concerts, video songs, and fan edits. Besides, it comes up with exclusive nitty gritty features, such as setting YouTube Playlist as an alarm, sharing playlists through a link, and even making it public for others to listen.

In a nutshell, YouTube Music allows you to have an ultimate music streaming experience. However, to use the music streaming application, your device needs to be connected to a stable internet.

In that regard, we would strongly recommend you subscribe to a Comcast internet plan. Check out highly affordable planes de internet de Comcast (For Spanish Speakers) and choose a plan that aptly fits your needs.

Anyway, in this article, we are going to delve deep into how you can make the most of your YouTube Music subscription. So, let’s get into it.

  1. Create Your Own Playlist

YouTube Music allows you to create your own playlist, whether you are using YouTube music on a web browser or the application on your phone, to listen to your favorite songs in a go. To create your playlist, you will have to follow a few steps:

  • Play the song
  • Select Menu
  • Select Add to Playlist

You may add any song to an existing playlist or create a new one. With YouTube Music, you cannot only create your own playlist but can share it with others to listen to. When you would like to share your playlist, you may select the sThree-dot menu and select Share.

  1. Stream Music Offline

One of the best things about YouTube Music is that you can listen to your favorite music even when you don’t have access to the internet. It means that you can download songs, playlists, and albums, and can solve your music problem when you are going on a trip.

However, in order to use this feature, you will have to switch to a YouTube Music Premium subscription. Here is how you can download the songs, playlists, and albums.

  • Tap More
  • Select Download

If you use the application on iOS, you can use Offline Mixtape, which automatically downloads the content you regularly listen to. However, make sure you have enabled this feature on your phone. To do so, open the application, click your profile picture, tap Downloads, and then Settings. Then, switch on Download an Offline Mixtape

The Andriod YouTube Music App users must not feel disappointed as this feature is called Smart Downloads on your phone. Follow the same steps mentioned above to enable Smart Downloads.

  1. Search Music Vis Lyrics

Certainly, a prominent leg up that YouTube Music has over other platforms is that you can search for music through lyrics. Most of the time, we forget the song title but hum a few lines from the song. In that event, not remembering the song is a hell of an anxiety. But, all credit to YouTube Music, you can find the song through the lyrics.

  1. Save Albums Ahead of their Release

Mostly you have a lot of anticipated music from your favorite artists, and with YouTube Music, you can actually save it before it even releases. This gives you a chance to be among the very first people to listen to the songs when they are released.

However, to check if you can pre-save the album or not, you may use the magnifying glass and type the name. If it is available to pre-save, songs will show up. If songs are showing up and not the album, tap the three dots on the right side of the track, go to Album, and check it out to download it.

  1. Use Playlist as an Alarm

Enough of those peculiar tunes that make us bang our heads on the walls in the morning. You must consider setting a YouTube Music playlist as an alarm. You can do it by lining YouTube Music with the Google Clock app.

Bottom Line

It is evident that YouTube Music is a stupendous music streaming application. Utilizing the aforementioned tips and tricks, you can get the most out of your subscription. So, let the music roll in!

Kim Kardashian Lands First Starring Role In Real Movie

Kim Kardashian has signed up for her first lead movie role -aside from her infamous debut with singer Ray J.

The reality TV star and Skims mogul appears to be furthering her acting career after her co-starring role in “American Horror Story: Delicate” and voice role in two “Paw Patrol” movies.

According to Deadline, Kim Kardashian is attached to star in and produce the female-driven comedy “The 5th Wheel,” which will be written by former “Saturday Night Live” scribe Paula Pell and her comedian wife Janine Brito. Pell will also produce the project.

Kim Kardashian has reportedly been very involved in the pitch process, appearing at every meeting to deliver the concept to studio executives. According to the outlet, five studios are battling for the package and multiple bids are already on the table.

Details about the movie’s plot have not been disclosed.

Over the years, Kim has had small roles or cameo appearances in TV shows such as “How I Met Your Mother,” “CSI: NY” and “2 Broke Girls” and films including “Disaster Movie,” “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” and “Ocean’s Eight.”

She stepped up her acting work this year when she signed up to play publicist Siobhan opposite Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne in the TV show “American Horror Story: Delicate.”

Deadline reports that she is using the momentum of the show to jump into the world of feature films.

Kim confirmed to Variety in May that she was working with an acting coach to prepare for the horror anthology series.

“It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself,” she added. “It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I’m so excited for the experience.”

Now We Know What Snoop Dogg’s Viral “Smoke” Claim Was About

Snoop Dogg trolled everyone last week when he claimed he was “quitting smoke.” But, as many suspected, it was all a rouse for his latest endorsement. On Monday (November 20), the D-O-Double-G tweeted an ad for a new smokeless fire pit, which (of course) he stars in.

As Snoop roasts marshmallows by the fire, he says, “I have an announcement. I’m giving up smoke. I know what you’re thinking. Snoop smoke is kinda your thing. But I’m done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky, I’m going smokeless. Solo Stove fixed fire…they took out the smoke. Clever.”

The caption reads: “I’m done with smoke. I’m going smokeless with @SoloStove.”

Whether a brilliant marketing ploy or a smack in the face to anyone trying to actually get sober, the ad build up did its job. Snoop Dogg’s ad bender began years ago, with starring roles in commercials for nearly everything. From Corona beer and Tostitos to General Insurance and Dunkin’ Donuts, Snoop was popping up everywhere—and not much has changed. Snoop Dogg currently stars in an ad campaign for Grubhub as well in which he actually raps. Solo Smoke is simply his latest endeavor.

Snoop Dogg made his outrageous claim on Thursday (November 16), saying, “After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.” But most people had their doubts. While Snoop Dogg has actually quit before, it only lasted six months. In 2016, while speaking to Khloé Kardashian on her now-defunct talk show, Snoop said he quit because of his youth football league.

“I went to practice high one day and one of the kids said, ‘Coach, you smell like my mama’s boyfriend,’” Snoop Dogg said. “And I had to check myself. I stopped smoking from that day for 180 days straight. And it made me a better coach, a better person, and I stopped smoking when I was coaching football. So every year when I coach football around the kids, I don’t smoke, so that’s three months out of the year that I do that.”

We didn’t really believe him, did we?

Halle Bailey Says There Will Be “Hell To Pay” As Fans Debate “Pregnancy Nose”

Halle Bailey has slammed speculation her appearance has changed because she’s pregnant.

Halle Bailey has been the source of online gossip after she posted photographs in which she appeared to hide her stomach area while wearing a purple swimsuit. One fan claimed the star had sported a “pregnancy nose” in the photo collage.

Halle took to social media and called for comments on her appearance to stop.

“If I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s gonna be hell to pay,” she fumed via Snapchat Story.

“And you know why?” she added. “‘Cause I am black. I love my nose.”

However, Halle’s firm response hasn’t dampened the baby rumors.

Some people have continued to fan the flames after they questioned Halle’s decision only to show her face in her latest post.

Last week, the 23-year-old actress also asked her followers to give her privacy.

Sharing a series of headshots of her laid beside a pool, Halle added the caption: “Minding my business… wbu?”

Halle has been dating rapper DDG since early 2022.

Akademiks Trolls Yung Miami For Not Speaking Out About Diddy Rape Allegations

Akademiks hasn’t ended his feud with celebrity couple Diddy and Yung Miami. The media personality blasted Miami for remaining silent on the internet-breaking accusations against Diddy.

According to reports, Diddy quickly reached a settlement in the civil lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. The R&B singer accused the Bad Boy Entertainment founder of sexual assault and physical abuse, in addition to several other shocking allegations.

Akademiks took the opportunity to publicly call out Yung Miami on Twitter (X). The Off The Record podcaster tweeted, “Yung Miami loud ass ain’t tweet in 4 days… c’mon… don’t make it this obvious, lol.”

As of press time, it doesn’t t appear Yung Miami has commented on the rape allegations connected to Diddy. However, the City Girls member shared a video of herself attending a Miami Dolphins football game this weekend.

Yung Miami’s issues with Akademiks included a war of words over the streamer referring to the “Act Up” rapper as Diddy’s “side chick.” Last December, Ak backtracked on wanting to duel with Diddy. He later reignited hostilities this year by criticizing City Girls’ recent album sales.

Akademiks versus Yung Miami eventually led to Saucy Santana defending his friend and fellow Florida native. Santana’s über-viral takedown of Ak led to him breaking down during a livestream.

“I was in tears when he laughed and was trolling about my car getting shot up while I was 6 months pregnant,” Yung Miami posted in response to Akademiks’ crying video spreading across social media.

Akademiks has also faced allegations of being abusive towards women. His former girlfriend Angelica reportedly claimed the New Jersey-bred commentator behaved “pervy” because he would allegedly only initiate sexual activity after getting drunk.

R&B Icon Patti LaBelle Dubs Cardi B “The Baby Patti” Amid Holiday Collaboration

2023 has produced an unexpected crossover involving R&B legend Patti LaBelle and rap star Cardi B. The two artists/entrepreneurs teamed up for a Good Life/Whipshots collaboration.

A new holiday-themed campaign involving LaBelle’s Good Life-branded pies and Cardi B’s vodka-infused whipped cream Whipshots rolled out earlier this month.

LaBelle stopped by The Tamron Hall Show to promote her business partnership with the “WAP” hitmaker. At one point, Tamron Hall asked the Godmother of Soul about Cardi.

“I’ve always wanted to meet her, and when I met her she said, ‘I’m just so excited to meet you,’” Patti LaBelle told Hall on the daytime talk show. “She’s not a diva. She’s a beautiful spirit.”

Hall then gave the same compliment to Patti LaBelle, asserting the legend has the same non-diva vibe. Labelle commented, “She’s the Baby Patti. Cardi is the Baby Patti.”

Cardi and LaBelle are also promoting their Good Life/Whipshots campaign by presenting a digital series. The seven-episode, sitcom-style videos began with the viral “The Hug” episode on November 9.

Patti LaBelle won two Grammy Awards and multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards. Fellow Grammy-winner Cardi B has broken several records for female rappers, including having the most No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Chris Brown Continues Top 10 Album Chart Streak With “11:11”

Chris Brown has defied the early chart placement expectations for his latest studio LP. Last week, it appeared the 11:11 album would end the singer’s nearly 20-year streak.

Industry forecasters projected 11:11 would debut with close to 40,000 first-week units. The projection seemed to be low enough for Brown to miss out on the Top 10 for his new project.

According to Billboard, 11:11 actually earned 45,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release. The 22-track body of work opened at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart right above Zach Bryan’s self-titled album, which slipped two spots to No. 10.

Brown now has 11 Top 10-charting solo projects. 2022’s Breezy peaked at No. 4, debuting with roughly 72,000 first-week units. The Virginia-bred entertainer presently has three career No. 1s in his catalog.

F.A.M.E. became Brown’s first Billboard 200 chart-topper in 2011. He also led the weekly rankings of the most popular albums in America with 2012’s Fortune and 2019’s Indigo. His 2005 eponymous debut studio LP peaked at No. 2.

The Fan of a Fan: The Album joint project with Tyga made it to No. 7 in 2015. Five years later, Brown also joined forces with Young Thug for the No. 24-peaking Slime & B.

For 11:11, Chris Brown secured guest appearances by Maeta, Byron Messia, Future, Fridayy, Davido and Lojay. The 68-minute, double LP hosts the Grammy Award-nominated “Summer Too Hot” single, which is up for Best R&B Performance.

Polo G’s Brother Trench Baby Reportedly Facing Felony Murder Charges

Polo G has had his issues with the law and now his brother Trench Baby now faces possible prison time.

TMZ reports Trench Baby has been charged with the felony murder of 20-year-old Dashaun Berry. According to the outlet, Berry died from a drive-by shooting in North Hollywood on June 10.

In addition, Trench Baby reportedly faces a charge of first-degree residential robbery for an alleged incident involving Berry on August 15. Polo G’s younger sibling was also charged with dissuading a witness by force or threat.

Police detained Trench Baby and Polo G in August following a search of the latter’s California residence. Trench Baby was released after posting $100,000 bail. Polo exited custody on his own recognizance.

“The incident surrounded someone staying in Polo’s home and not Polo directly,” the rapper’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, stated at the time. “The officers have detained Polo to ‘verify’ that he is not a convicted felon, as they assert a firearm was found in the home. It is widely known that Polo is not a convicted felon and never was a convicted felon.”

In 2021, Polo G faced felony battery of an officer, felony threatening a public servant and misdemeanor charges in Miami, but were eventually dropped.

“I personally got all his charges in Miami dismissed when he was in our opinion wrongfully arrested and charged,” Cohen said. “They have refused to allow us access to our client which is also an illegal and unethical practice and someone will have to answer for these new wrongful actions.”
