Rich Homie Quan’s Cause Of Death Revealed

The Fulton County Medical Examiner determined Rich Homie Quan died of an accidental overdose. His cause of death was the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam (Xanax), codeine and promethazine, per TMZ.

Rich Homie Quan, whose real name was Dequantes Lamar, passed away on September 5. His girlfriend found him unresponsive in their home in Georgia.

“This has to be the toughest thing I’ve ever endured,” she wrote weeks after his death. “Don’t even know how to gather my words. When I met you I had no idea how our life was gonna change for the good. You got locked up & that time apart brought us closer. Fast forward, on the rise of your career, I knew what I signed up for. No one could tell me anything about you, I wasn’t going for it. Support is an understatement! I’m still gonna go hard for you til this day. Never had anything hit me this close … Feel like someone ripped my heart out of my chest.”

Rich Homie Quan’s family held a public service for him at World Changers Church International on September 17. His father delivered an emotional speech at the funeral.

“I got the confirmation that my son had transitioned,” Corey Lamar said. “Not only my son but my best friend. We didn’t get it right every time, but we gave it the best every time … From the day I met Quan and I held him, my life changed. I knew failure was not an option. But little did Quan know, he pushed me even harder to be a dad, to be a role model and to be an example [of] what a man should be.”

Rich Homie Quan is survived by his five children. A music video for his first posthumous song “Song Cry” dropped on Monday (September 30).

Jermaine Dupri Goes Off On Followers Trolling Him Over Pool Photoshoot

Jermaine Dupri is firing back at clever commentators trolling him over his recent birthday post on Instagram.

The So So Def music mogul didn’t shy away from addressing trolls in an aggressive video he shared defending his decision to showcase himself celebrating in style. For those wondering what caused Dupri to go off, it appears as though multiple Instagram users began blowing up his comments, saying he looked cold and “uncomfortable” after he shared the video of himself smoking a cigar in the pool. Fans flooded the comments with jokes and, in true Dupri fashion, the Atlanta Hip-Hop legend wasted no time retaliating at the haters with a bold response.

“Look at how,” Jermaine Dupri said while modeling himself holding a cigar. “You see how when you got the cigar in your mouth, it makes you hold all this in right here.”

As Dupri began explaining his posture, he made it clear that he’s not phased by the comments and reminded everyone of his roots.

“Now listen, I’m a Hip-Hop n###a,” he said. “I think sometimes y’all n###a be forgetting. Y’all be thinking I’m y’all or I don’t know… I’m them n###as. I’m a Hip-Hop n###a.”

Dupri then defended his laid-back demeanor as a byproduct of his essence as a “Hip-Hop n###a,” so to speak.

“I grew up fresh, fly all that, so when you even say that s##t to me, it just be like this,” he said. “It’s like a n##a blocking, right. When a n###a block, ain’t no arm opening, I ain’t doing all this s##t. That ain’t what that is.”

Dupri, who’s known for his unique style, wasn’t about to let the trolls get the last word and ended up shutting down the criticism with one final retort. “When you smoke a cigarette, you ain’t ever seen n###a do like this,” he remarked, mimicking exaggerated motions before. “So do I look cold now?”

Check out the post above to see both videos of Dupri in addition to the remarks trolls left in droves in the comments section of the post.

Diddy & The Chaos Of 2024: Who Is Next?

Before I even get to typing this out, I gotta admit… this is pure insanity. Katt Williams set the tone for this year, because 2024 has been nothing short of chaos. I mean, what are we going through right now? And if you’ve been checking our news section, you already know we’re bringing the facts as they happen. But let’s be real—there’s an undercurrent of rumor and speculation that we just have to talk about.

So, let’s talk about it. Over and over again, I’m hearing whispers about some BIGGER names than Diddy. But here’s the thing—who the hell are they talking about? I mean, there aren’t many people walking this planet bigger than Diddy! Now, JAY-Z’s name gets thrown in the mix, but I think that’s just Jay hate, plain and simple. Is Jay “bigger” than Diddy? He’s richer than Diddy, but bigger? Let’s not get it twisted: we’re dealing with a whole bunch of civil lawsuits. Not criminal cases, mind you, so the stakes are different. The bar for these cases is way lower, so there’s going to be a TON of pressure for these people to settle up somehow. That is where I think Jay will have some issues.

But what I wanna know is this—are we going to see some other high-profile names not named Sean or Shawn get caught up in this mess? Like, where are the white folks at in this reckoning? Yeah, we saw Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein get dragged, but what about the music industry? You guys are telling me the old Rock-N-Roll have done no wrong? Maybe the groupies back then were more buttoned-up, but I need answers, and I know y’all do too. Who do y’all think is next in line? I’m telling you, we gotta think bigger than Diddy on this one.

So here’s where it gets real—let’s#### y’all with some straight-up facts, per the lawyer:

Diddy’s got over 3,285 alleged victims, according to the lawyer man Anthony Glenn Buzbee. Out of those, 120 people have come forward with lawsuits. And out of that 120, 25 were minors, with the youngest being just 9 years old. Let that sink in for a second. The breakdown? 60 men and 60 women, and 67% of those victims were Black, while the rest were white, Hispanic, or Asian. Another thing: they say they have collected pictures, video, texts,” which would expose, “Many powerful people … many dirty secrets.” But, I wonder what in there is proof of wrong doing?

Buzbee hit the stage this morning with some serious fire and he wasn’t shy either. We’re talking banking institutions, and corporations—dirty secrets coming to light. It’s about to get wild out here.

So, for real, who do you think is gonna get caught up in this storm? Let’s talk.

YG Arrested In Burbank Following Bizarre Driving Incident

YG was arrested in Burbank, California on Tuesday morning (October 1) per TMZ. The “FDT (F### Donald Trump)” rapper was taken into custody on a misdemeanor DUI charge after law enforcement found his car parked on a curb. A photo of the stop shows YG sitting on the ground with his head resting on his arms as a police officer talks to him.

It has yet to be determined if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Sources said he didn’t take a breathalyzer test but submitted to a blood sample. YG’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, is still collecting information on the arrest but is primarily focused on his client’s “health and wellbeing.”

YG has faced legal troubles before. In 2020, he was arrested on suspicion of robbery as part of an ongoing investigation.

“This arrest is one that caught YG completely off guard because there is no truth to them,” Tacopina said at the time. “YG has no idea what investigators are talking about and we have not been provided with any details … we are learning about this case through the media.”

In July 2019, a person driving a Cadillac Escalade registered to YG led police on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles. The suspect shot up a police vehicle and killed an innocent 65-year-old man who happened to be riding his bike. Later that month, police raided YG’s house in search of evidence linked to the murder. YG maintained he had nothing to do with the shootout.

YG first rose to prominence in 2010 with his debut single, “Toot It and Boot It” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. His debut studio album, 2014’s My Krazy Life, was praised for its production and storytelling, and drew comparisons to classic West Coast albums. The album included hit singles like “My N####” featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan and “Who Do You Love?” featuring Drake.

YG is also known for his collaborations with other West Coast artists, including the late Nipsey Hussle and DJ Mustard. Apart from his music, YG has been vocal about social and political issues, particularly with the aforementioned single “FDT” single featuring Nipsey Hussle.

An inmate search of both the Los Angeles County Jail and Burbank City Jail came up empty handed, so it’s possible he’s already out. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Lauryn Hill Fires Back At Pras’ “Baseless” Lawsuit: “It Is Absolutely Disheartening”

Lauryn Hill has responded to the lawsuit fellow Fugee Pras filed Tuesday (October 1) in the Southern District of New York. The full list of claims include fraud, fraud in the inducement, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, accounting and refusal to permit an audit of the Fugees’ tour.

In a lengthy statement sent to AllHipHop and later posted to Instagram, Hill called Pras’ lawsuit “baseless” and insisted it’s “full of false claims and unwarranted attacks.” Hill also said she was only trying to help Pras pay his mounting legal fees stemming from his ongoing federal corruption case. As she explained, “I’ve been silent and pushing through because I understood that Pras was under duress because of his legal battles and that this was perhaps affecting his judgment, state of mind and character.”

Hill said the lawsuit “notably omits”  that Pras was advanced “overpayment for the last tour” and has failed to repay “substantial loans” extended by Hill “as an act of goodwill.”

She continued, “Last year’s tour was put together to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It was being planned whether the Fugees were involved or not. The tour was expanded to incorporate the Fugees because I found out that Pras was in trouble and would need money to aid his legal defense.”

A post shared by Ms. Lauryn Hill (@mslaurynhill)

Hill revealed Pras was given a $3 million advance for the tour and that both she and Wyclef Jean deferred their full advances to ensure he could cover the fees.

“I covered most of the tour expenses, as the majority of the tour advance had gone to Pras,” she added. “An agreement was put in place to secure the repayment of the money he was advanced. Pras has not paid back the money he was advanced, and is currently in breach of this agreement.”

Hill also alleged Pras basically just had to show up and perform; nothing else was required of him.

“As of the last tour Pras thanked me for ‘saving his life’. (I have the receipts.),” she said. “I am not in the business of kicking anyone, especially when they’re down, which is why I haven’t responded to date. It is absolutely disheartening to see Pras in this position, my band mate and someone I considered a friend.”

Hill recognized she wasn’t in Pras’ life when he found himself in trouble but decided to help him anyway. She concluded, “Despite his attacks, I am still compassionate and hope things work out for him.”

Pras’ lawsuit alleges that Hill “grossly mismanaged” the setup, marketing and budgeting of the Fugees 2023 tour and called it a “veiled and devious attempt to make a big score for herself.” He also accused Hill of secretly siphoning money from the tour guarantees. It also paints Hill as “narcissistic” and alleges that she turned down a $5 million offer for the Fugees to perform at Coachella because No Doubt would get top billing.

“Hill’s arrogance was again demonstrated when she unilaterally rejected a $5 Million offer [to play Coachella],” it reads. “The reason was that her ego was bruised since the group No Doubt would be receiving top billing over the Fugees the night of their show. Hill never told Pras about the offer or that she had was rejected it. Pras only learned about it when it was too late, after Hill, in an astonishing display of hubris, asked Pras if he would agree to perform a few Fugees songs for free as the opening act for her son, ‘YG’ Marley, who was slated to perform at the same Coachella festival.”

Hill’s attorney, Howard King, tells AllHipHop, “This desperate and unfortunate lawsuit brought by Pras Michel is packed with lies and intentionally disparaging remarks. It is particularly disappointing that the suit fails to reveal that Pras was grossly over advanced for the last tour to help him pay his mounting legal bills. His failure to show appreciation for the financial help Ms. Hill has afforded him in his time of need is disappointing. This action will be aggressively defended and defeated.”

NBA Star Omits Kendrick Lamar From Playlist With Biggie & Curren$y—All Hell Breaks Loose

Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans appeared to walk out of an interview with reporters during the NBA’s preseason media day event after a conversation about music turned from a gingerly exchange into a brief interrogation.

The Pelicans star found himself enthralled into a touchy conversation after a reporter questioned his music choices for the off-season. He appeared to initially show his love of Hip-Hop by citing a diverse range of rappers spanning multiple decades after he was asked about the artists who soundtracked his summer workouts as he prepared for the upcoming season. To start, Williamson rattled off names such as The Notorious B.I.G., Curren$y and Larry June.

“Notorious B.I.G. [Ready to Die], that’s always in the mix,” Zion Williamson said. “[Illmatic] by Nas, gotta throw Larry June up there. A lot of Curren$y.”

Williamson continued, “Especially when I started training seriously, I feel like Curren$y was heavy in the mix.”

The conversation seemed to be going smoothly until the reporter threw in a curveball, asking why Kendrick Lamar didn’t make the cut.

“Geez, Christ,” he exclaimed in response. “What makes you—wait, before we go to the first part of the question, what made you ask that second question?” Williamson shot back, visibly taken aback by the unexpected jab. The reporter, trying to make his point, mentioned that he thought Kendrick Lamar had some “good songs” that would’ve been perfect for his gym playlist, specifically citing “euphoria” and “Not Like Us.”

In response, Williamson wasn’t having it turned the conversation on the reporter with loaded rhetorical questions as the back-and-forth grew a little more heated.

“Man, I hear you. You entitled to your opinion. I’m entitled to mine,” Williamson aid, standing his ground. “But saying that, come on, it’s Kendrick Lamar. I really gotta sit up here and talk about how good of an artist he is?”

After providing his response, Williamson was seemingly fed up behind the dust-up and walked out of the interview without warning.

Though the interaction was brief, it highlighted how much scrutiny athletes face, even when it comes to something as personal as their music choices. Former Bulls bucket-getter DeMar DeRozan, who was recently traded to the Sacramento Kings, faced major criticism earlier this summer after appearing in the video for “Not Like Us” alongside Kendrick Lamar.

In a new interview with The Sacramento Bee, DeRozan explained that Kendrick is “basically family” and says they would do anything for each other. “When he did the song, he asked me to be a part of it,” he added. “Whatever it is he’s doing, I’m going to be a part of it without a thought. That’s kind of always been our relationship.”

However, DeRozan insisted his ties to Kendrick Lamar don’t affect his relationship with Drake.

“Drake’s still my man, still my man, none of it changed,” DeRozan said. “It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out.”

“Coming To America” & “Good Times” Star John Amos Dead At 84

Beloved actor John Amos has died. In a statement posted Tuesday (October 1), his family revealed he passed away from natural causes on August 21. He was 84.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” his son K.C. Amos said in a statement. “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father.

“He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor. My father loved working as an actor throughout his entire life…. most recently in ‘Suits LA’ playing himself and our documentary about his life journey as an actor, ‘America’s Dad.’ He was my dad, my best friend, and my hero. Thank you for your prayers and support at this time.”

Amos was best known for his roles in Coming to America, Good Times and Roots. He played Cleo McDowell in Coming to America and its sequel. He starred as James Evans Jr. in Good Times and the adult version of Kunta Kinte in Roots. Amos scored an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Kunta Kinte.

“I knew that it was a life-changing role for me, as an actor and just from a humanistic standpoint,” he told TIME magazine. “It was the culmination of all of the misconceptions and stereotypical roles that I had lived and seen being offered to me. It was like a reward for having suffered those indignities.”

Amos’ other notable roles included Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on The West Wing and Major Grant in Die Hard 2. He was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2019.

Pras Sues “Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing” Lauryn Hill Over Failed Fugees Reunion Tour

Pras Michel sued fellow Fugees member Lauryn Hill for fraud and breach of contract, among other claims, in New York on Tuesday (October 1). According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Michel claimed Hill exploited him when she arranged a Fugees reunion tour in 2023.

“Michel was forced to accept onerous terms he would have normally rejected in the years before his criminal conviction (as he did in 2021), including ceding control of the Fugees tour to Hill and MLH [Touring], and agreeing to license the ‘Fugees’ trademark to MLH for live shows for years to come with or without Michel,” his attorneys contended.

The lawsuit accused Hill of taking advantage of Michel because she knew he was desperate for money. Michel needed to “pay expensive white collar crime lawyers to file post-trial motions” following his conviction in a foreign influence campaign case.

“Hill’s ploy to be appear to be Michel’s supposed savior was actually a devious attempt to make a big score for herself by generating millions of dollars from a Fugees tour, all of which flowed to MLH,” his lawyers argued. “Even though she disingenuously billed the tour as a Lauryn Hill Miseducation tour, she knew that the kind of success she craved would only be possible if it were also billed as a Fugees tour.”

They continued, “To succeed with her scheme, Hill required that she and MLH have complete control over the business aspects of the tour, which allowed her to have a total lack of transparency over the tour’s management, including the handling of money. In the process, it did not matter to Hill if she took full advantage of Michel’s vulnerability – her friend and creative partner of over 30 years. In fact, she counted on exploiting that vulnerability to carry out her scheme.”

Hill abruptly canceled the 2023 tour. Michel blamed Hill for hampering ticket sales for their 2024 tour, which led to its cancellation. He also said Hill refused a $5 million offer to perform with the Fugees at Coachella due to her “arrogance.”

“She unilaterally rejected a $5 Million offer for the Fugees to perform at the Coachella festival,” Michel’s lawyers wrote. “Upon information and belief, the reason was her ego was bruised since the group No Doubt would be receiving top billing over the Fugees. Hill never told Michel about the offer or that she had rejected it. Michel only learned about it when it was too late, after Hill, in an astonishing display of hubris, asked Michel if he would agree to perform a few Fugees songs for free as the opening act for her son, ‘YG’ Marley, who was slated to perform at the same Coachella festival.”

Michel awaits sentencing for conspiracy, concealment of material facts, making false entries in records, witness tampering and serving as an unregistered agent of a foreign power. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

Diddy’s Legal Team Denies He Abused Minors, Including 9-Year-Old Boy

Attorney Tony Buzbee revealed one of Diddy’s alleged victims was a 9-year-old boy at a press conference in Houston on Tuesday (October 1). Buzbee discussed dozens of lawsuits he plans to file against Diddy on behalf of 120 clients.

Buzbee said 25 of the victims were minors at the time of their alleged abuse. The youngest was 9 years old when the alleged incident occurred. Others were allegedly 14 and 15 years old.

The claims included violent sexual assault, rape, false imprisonment, compelling prostitution, sexual misconduct and sexual abuse of minors. Buzbee said 60 of the victims were male and 60 of them were female. Multiple victims were given a drug called Xylazine, also known as “Tranq.”

Buzbee told reporters the victims were not bringing a class-action lawsuit against Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs. The plaintiffs intended to sue him and others individually.

The lawsuits were expected to be filed within the next 30 days. Buzbee encouraged any victims who haven’t come forward to contact his law firm.

“This is an important matter that we intend to aggressively pursue,” Buzbee said. “We will leave no stone unturned to find all potentially liable parties to include any individual or entity who participated in or benefitted from this egregious behavior.”

Diddy denied Buzbee’s allegations.

“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus,” Diddy’s lawyer Erica Wolff said. “That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”

Diddy was arrested for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution in New York on September 16. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Two judges denied bail to Diddy. His lawyers are filing an appeal.

Diddy faces life in prison if convicted. His sex trafficking charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.

EXCLUSIVE: Lil Rod Threatens To Expose More Of Diddy’s Co-Conspirators

Attorney Tyrone Blackburn contested Diddy’s motion to dismiss Lil Rod’s explosive lawsuit against the mogul on Monday (September 30). According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Blackburn defended the merits of Lil Rod’s allegations two weeks after Diddy was indicted for sex trafficking and other charges.

“The court needs only to Google, and it would be abundantly clear that [Diddy] has zero credibility, and to quote United States President Joe Biden, he ‘has the morals of an alley cat,’” Blackburn wrote. “[Diddy] is a criminally indicted, racketeering sex trafficking, illegal prostitution facilitating, accused drugs and guns dealer, accused Mexican cartel drug runner, accused murderer and confirmed woman beater.”

Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones sued Sean “Diddy” Combs in February. The lawsuit named Diddy’s son Justin Combs and former Combs Enterprises chief of staff Kristina Khorram as co-defendants. Blackburn threatened to reveal more of Diddy’s alleged co-conspirators if necessary.

“There are others, such as Mr. Combs’s accountant who wired money to Mr. Jones, the travel agent who booked the flights for the sex workers to travel both nationally and internationally, and the attorney who has worked as Mr. Combs’s fixer for over 30 years, and who has aided and abetted him in covering up and executing many of his crimes,” Blackburn wrote. “In an effort not to impede Mr. Combs’s criminal prosecution, Plaintiff has opted not to name these individuals in this opposition to the motion to dismiss. If, in their reply, the defendants decide to foolishly ‘look a gift horse in the mouth,’ then plaintiff will gladly supplement this opposition memo and provide the court with the identities of the individuals.”

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Blackburn called Diddy a “sexually deviant monster” in the opposition filed on Monday. Blackburn dared the Bad Boy Records founder to continue challenging Lil Rod’s lawsuit.

“If the defendants would like additional details as to how they used the mail and the United States banking system to commit their mail and wire fraud, the plaintiff will gladly replead and include the identity of the defendant’s accountant, as well as the account number which they used to commit their wire fraud,” Blackburn wrote. “We will also provide the identity of the travel agent who booked all of the flights and rented all of the chartered planes that Mr. Combs and the members of the Combs RICO enterprise used to traffic prostitutes, victims of sexual trafficking, drugs, and unmarked guns both nationally and internationally.”

He added, “We will also provide the name of the charter company that knowingly had Mr. Combs’s name on multiple flight manifests traveling to and from national and international destinations, all on the same day and often at the same time, while Mr. Combs was sitting in his house in Miami. Maybe Mr. Combs will provide a sworn declaration under penalty of perjury attesting to what and/or who was on those planes.”

Diddy was arrested for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution on September 16. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Two judges denied him bail.

Boosie Badazz is reaching out to his daughter Poison Ivi on social media, pleading for her forgiveness after she shared her pain over her father’s comments about her sexuality.

Boosie urged his daughter to “LIVE N YO TRUTH N JUST KNOW THAT U ALWAYS MY BABY NO MATTER WHAT,” and implored her to “ACCEPT MY PUBLIC APOLOGY.”

Last week, Poison Ivi tearfully called out her father for constantly discussing her sexuality. Boosie attempted to make amends on social media but stopped short of apologizing to his daughter.

“Yall won’t make Me look like a bad father,” he wrote in one. “I love all my kids and I’m a good father.” The other read, “What is understood doesn’t need to be said.”

Wack 100 Predicts RICO Charges For Yo Gotti After Young Dolph Murder Testimony

Wack 100 believes Yo Gotti is under investigation, and it won’t be long before the feds close in on the CMG record label founder over alleged ties to Young Dolph’s murder.

The longtime music manager never shies away from sharing his thoughts on trending Hip-Hop topics while on Clubhouse. During a recent chat, Wack 100 shared his theory that Yo Gotti could be in legal hot water.

“Yo Gotti, say your prayers,” Wack began. “You better say your prayers.”

Wack referenced recent testimony from Cornelius Smith, one of the three men charged with Young Dolph’s 2021 murder. Smith claimed that he shot the rapper to collect a $100,000 hit put out by Yo Gotti’s late brother, CMG executive Big Jook. He also admitted that someone at CMG paid $50,000 for his attorney.

When the prosecutor said to Smith, “There’s no question that the money was for services rendered, specifically killing Dolph,” Smith replied, “Basically.”

Wack 100 continued, “Juke dead he was an executive of that company. That’s your brother.”

He then suggested that prosecutors will treat CMG as a criminal enterprise and hit him with RICO charges like Young Thug.

“He was part of the company, they saying CMG,” Wack 100 stated. “They gonna classify it as a gang, they going to try to ‘Thug’ it.”

Wack 100 Claims Yo Gotti Was Linked To 2017 Young Dolph Attack

He also went further and attempted to link CMG to a 2017 incident in which Young Dolph’s SUV was reportedly shot at over 100 times before a CIAA basketball game in Charlotte, N.C.

Just months after the shooting in Charlotte, the Paper Route Empire founder was left in critical condition after getting shot during a dispute in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Detectives reportedly investigated whether the shooting was related to an ongoing feud between Young Dolph and Yo Gotti.
Gotti was also tied to an incident outside a Memphis nightclub in 2010 in which six people were shot. Authorities suspect the incident may have started with a rap feud.

“They going to take that s### and paint the perfect movie,” Wack said. “These two things are gang, and your gang paid this dude attorney 50,000 cuz you hired him to do a hit for a 100.”

Jermaine Dupri Explains Why Modern R&B Singers Can’t Compete With ’90s Crooners

Jermaine Dupri believes the current crop of R&B singers don’t make music like the crooners of the 1990s because they’re not growing up in the church.

The R&B and Hip-Hop legend has worked with some of the best performers of all time during his three decades in the music industry. According to Dupri, modern R&B singers lack a crucial element present in the stars of the 1990s, one of the genre’s golden ages.

“Young Black youth of today do not go to church and they don’t have that church band grooming,” he stated during a recent Instagram Live. He went on to cite Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox and iconic R&B group Jodeci as examples of artists with a foundation in the church.

“So when you listen to that soul, the soul that you think is soul is an added piece of information,” Dupri explained. “If you gone’ make these records, it’s hard to beat Jodeci when you don’t have that element.

Jermaine Dupri also pointed to Anthony Hamilton and their upcoming single, “Queen,” slated for release on Friday, October 4.

“Anthony Hamiliton comes from the church,” he added. “You not gone’ get that s### that’s in his voice, you ain’t just getting that from being on the internet.”

Meanwhile, Jermaine Dupri is set to bring his “A SoSo R&B Experience” to Wolf Creek Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Durpri features on the star-studded lineup with live performances from the likes of Muni Long, DVSN, Eric Bellinger and Vedo.

The aforementioned Bryan-Michael Cox is also set to deliver a “Ladies Love R&B” presentation alongside Keith Thomas.

Timbaland Transforms Chrisean Rock’s “Hood Gospel” Snippet Into New Song

Timbaland was so inspired by a brief snippet of a Chrisean Rock “hood gospel” track that he took the slip and crafted a song with it using AI.

The reality TV star turned rapper recently appeared on Pastor Jamal Bryant’s podcast, discussing life after her release from prison. Timbaland caught wind of one segment featuring Chrisean Rock teasing a gospel song she’s working on. Using an AI tool, Timbo crafted a new track from the snippet, and he believes it’s a banger.

The super producer took to Instagram to share the song. “It was so touching,” Timbaland said of Chrisean Rock’s song, “I had this idea that I wanted to get out.”

He then played the song that featured Rock’s lyrics over a haunting melody. The song also includes a segment of Rock discussing her faith in God.

“I rest my case,” Timbaland said after playing the track. “I don’t know what to tell you.”

During her interview with Pastor Bryant, Chrisean Rock acknowledged her influence on young girls, revealing it played a part in her decision to abandon “worldly music” and focus on something new.

“That’s pretty much why I was like, I’ve been doing a lot and starting over, pretty much. I don’t wanna do worldly music anymore,” she shared. “I just want to do gospel—hood gospel, I would say.”

Chrisean Rock also revealed she ditched some of her past habits, including smoking weed and drinking alcohol and has no interest in sex outside of marriage.

“I don’t have an appetite for confusing things,” Rock explained. “I been done with all of it for a very really long time. But again, we’re all helpless. So as much as we think we can do this on our own…you don’t want the strength from this world, you want the strength from the word of God.”

Ralo Slams Boosie Badazz Over Yo Gotti Link-Up

Ralo is reviving his issues with Boosie Badazz, calling him out for praising Yo Gotti.

According to Ralo, Boosie giving Yo Gotti his flowers was disrespectful to the late Young Dolph. The CMG founder faced backlash amid the Young Dolph murder trial last month. Cornelius Smith testified that he shot the rapper to collect a $100,000 hit put out by Yo Gotti’s late brother, Big Jook.

On Monday (September 30), Boosie shared a video of a recent parking lot encounter with Yo Gotti. The pair dapped each other before sharing their mutual appreciation.

“CONGRATULATIONS,” Boosie captioned his post. “I SEEN YO COME UP ⬆️ @yogotti ME N DIS N#### GO WAY BACK EARLY 2000’s n he looked out for MOMS WHEN I WAS GONE.”

However, Ralo responded to a clip of the meeting circulating on X (Twitter) and was not impressed.

“Boosie should’ve at least let Dolph family grieve from the trail before he did this lame as s###,” Ralo tweeted. “And idc what nobody say‼️”

Boosie and Ralo have recently aired their issues on social media. The former collaborators fell out over snitching allegations. Boosie called Ralo a rat. Ralo denied the claims.

They traded jabs on social media with Ralo even calling out Boosie for a fade. However, after his tweet, Ralo said he “failed the test” after previously vowing to stop speaking on the Louisiana native.

“I just seen the s### with him and old boy and that s### just like struck a nerve,” he explained. “But that’s my word from now on I ain’t going to say s### about the n####.”

Diddy Faces Over 100 New Sexual Assault Lawsuits, Criminal Charges Possible

Houston attorney Tony Buzbee announced that “well over” 100 alleged victims of Sean “Diddy” Combs are set to take file lawsuits accusing him of rape, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation.

Buzbee will provide details of the claims at a press conference at 1:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday (October 1), according to FOX 26 Houston. The attorney will share some of the alleged victim’s accounts and details of the lawsuits and any other alleged perpetrators.

“This is an important matter that we intend to aggressively pursue,” Buzbee stated. “We will leave no stone unturned to find all potentially liable parties, to include any individual or entity who participated in or benefitted from this egregious behavior.”

The attorney also shared a Sexual Assault Hotline number, 1-800-200-7474, asking victims and witnesses to come forward.

Last week, Buzbee revealed he represented over 50 individuals but expected the number to grow. Fox 5 News New York reports the incarcerated Hip-Hop mogul could also face new criminal charges.

Alleged Victim Claims She Was Drugged And Assaulted By Diddy And Another Man

The alleged victims include men and women, including one woman who claims Diddy and another man sexually assaulted her at a party in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2018.

“She was given a drink that we believe now to be spiked, because she said she started feeling woozy,” Ariel Mitchell, the woman’s attorney, told the outlet. “And then Mr. Combs sexually assaulted her, first with an inanimate object and then had a man come and assault my client.”

The woman managed to escape and received help from a neighbor before filing a police report. “She did call the police, because she did have a harrowing escape,” Mitchell explained.

Diddy remains in federal custody at New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center as he awaits trial for charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.

Bail has been denied twice despite his requests to be released on a $50 million bond.  However, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Diddy’s legal team filed a notice of appeal regarding his bail on Monday (September 30).

In a new documentary, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, confirmed Diddy will not be taking a plea deal and said he’s trying to get his client to trial “as soon as possible.”

He added, “He is so focused on trying to right this wrong that it’s actually giving him a form of strength and a form of confidence that I think is going to get him through this difficult time period.”

Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, maintained his innocence in a statement to AllHipHop.

“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus,” Wolff said. “That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”

K-Pop Fans Slam DJ Khaled’s Collab With SEVENTEEN For Silence On Gaza War

DJ Khaled is catching heat from fans of the K-pop band SEVENTEEN after the group announced a collaboration on their upcoming album.

On Monday night (September 30), the group teased their DJ Khaled feature on social media with a snippet of the song and a message from the producer.

However, the announcement received a frosty response from fans of the group, collectively known as the Carats, who objected to the collab based on DJ Khaled’s silence on the war in Gaza.

Khaled was born in America after his parents immigrated from areas in the occupied West Bank territory. He has faced staunch criticism for remaining silent on the Israel-Hamas war.

“dj khaled is a palestinian who never speak up about palestine,” one person wrote. “He is the worst person to collab with.”

“people should be informed why we do not want any participation of dj khaled in the album,” added another. “It’s not a simple anti-western collab. there’s a reason for it.”

Other fans also mentioned Khaled’s ties to Sean “Diddy” Combs” in addition to his silence on the deadly conflict.

“Thank god someone said it!” a third person shared. “Do not fall for it. DJ Khaled is not a good person. His friendship with Diddy should be a big enough red flag! Also, the fact that he’s Palestinian & has remained SILENT about the GENOCIDE of his people. Hmm… I wonder why….”

PBS reports since Hamas launched the war on October 7, killing some 1,200 people and abducting 250 others, Israel’s retaliatory invasion of Gaza has killed more than 41,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 95,000, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Additionally, 1.9 million Palestinians were forced to flee their homes.

Wale Uses “Street Fighter” Reference In Rebuttal To Hot Take Claiming J. Cole Is Superior Rapper

Wale has broken his silence and chimed in on the trending debate on social media over who has the edge as an MC—himself or J. Cole.

During his latest back-and-forth with his Twitter (X) followers, Wale finally addressed the viral clip from the Rory & Mal’s Podcast during which the two hosts argued about who was a better rapper: J. Cole or the former Maybach Music Group lyricist.

Though the clip went viral several weeks back, it appears as though a fan page recirculating one of Wale’s early versus, in which he appears to cosign Cole, prompted his response to the debate. However, instead of stirring the pot, Wale appeared to offer Olive branch between both he and Cole’s fanbases comparing he and the Dreamville rap boss to fictional characters, a part of the “Street Fighter” franchise.

“Me and Cole is Ryu n Ken,” Wale wrote in his initial tweet. “It’s the same thing .., he just don’t be talkin to yall and I ji like have to. I forgot about this verse … but here yall go . Me rappin like the rent is due again.

“Not fallin for it .. thank God for Hip-Hop,” affirming he wasn’t taking the bait and biting on a line reeling him in to defend himself in the debate.

The Gifted rapper continued to remain humble even as users swarmed the thread, claiming he wasn’t on the same level as J. Cole during the “blog era” of rap during the early 2010s.

“Oh s##t my bad,” Wale responded to the user who made the comment.

Overall, it seems pretty clear Wale is comfortable with his place in the rap game, as well as where the current hierarchy of rappers ranks his perspective peers. In another tweet he shared, he remarked on his belief that Future is a top rapper and incredibly important to Hip-Hop as a whole.

”Future means so much to Hiphop,” he wrote. “A top ten. I’m not debating that one.”

Seemingly aware that his opinions on current rappers, including himself, caused such a stir on social media, Wale went on to issue a statement to iron out the wrinkles he caused on Hip-Hop Twitter’s timeline.

“I got some folks fired up today,” he wrote. “I seen.. excuse me for havin a diverse palette … art is subjective. I’m listening to The Beach Boys right now and then Devin the Dude . Yall like what yall liked…see yall on the road.”

Dame Dash Concerned JAY-Z Implication In Diddy “Freak Offs” Would Make Hip-Hop Look Crazy

Dame Dash has weighed in on the rumors that JAY-Z is somehow tied to Diddy’s RICO indictment.

In a recent interview with his network, America Nu, Dash expressed his deep concern over the allegations involving his former business partner JAY-Z, allegedly being connected to the “freak-off” parties at the center of federal authorities’ investigation into Diddy’s alleged criminal activity. Although he admitted is uncomfortable seeing the legal ordeal Diddy is now facing amid his indictment, Dash also said the mere thought of JAY-Z being complicit in these accusations is difficult to bear.

“Watching what’s going on with Puff, it doesn’t feel good,” Dame began, expressing his conflicted feelings about the ongoing situation. “I don’t want to see someone… die or be tortured. I’m not going to celebrate the pain of anybody, any human being, even if they deserve it.”

Dash quickly turned his attention to the recent headlines surrounding JAY-Z, whose name has been dragged into the chaos.

“The things that they’re saying… they’re terrible,” Dame continued, visibly distressed by the implications. “It’s hard for me to even think that any of those things can be true. I don’t want them to be true. They’re saying they’re going to pick him up next year. I don’t want to see that man go to jail.”

Despite their strained relationship, Dash appeared genuinely troubled at the prospect of JAY-Z being caught up in the storm: “As much as he’s been to me unfair toward, or not unfair, the way he’d be f##king with my money, I want to hope that that’s the worst that he’s been doing.”

Dame Dash, who’s been vocal about his own beliefs and the importance of integrity in the music business, found himself in disbelief at the possibility of JAY-Z losing his way.

“I would never want to hear like, ‘Jay at the freak off party’, that’s crazy,” he remarked. “The s### they saying, and I just be wondering why nobody… he don’t say nothing about it.”

Despite the layers of hurt and betrayal between the two, Dash couldn’t fully detach himself from the man he says he still considers to be a “pillar” in Hip-Hop and a friend of the family and his children.

“It would be such another big blow for Hip-Hop, regardless of what, perception-wise, Jay is also a pillar of Hip-Hop, and if anything bad happens to him, then it’s really going to look crazy for Hip-Hop,” he said. “Jay’s supposed to be my son’s godfather. How does he do that to Boogie’s godson’s father?”

While Dash remains hopeful that the allegations aren’t true, he couldn’t help but reflect on the dark realities that could emerge if they are.

“There are some levels that I know are dark, but again, I’m just hoping that it’s not that dark,” he said.

Tensions between the two music moguls have been well-documented over the years and only escalated after Dash has accused JAY-Z of attempting to devalue his one-third share of Roc-A-Fella Records while he’s attempting to auction it off.
