Halsey Hospitalized After Suffering “Very Scary” Seizure

Halsey revealed she was hospitalized for a few days on social media. The diamond-selling singer posted a video of herself in the hospital with her fiancé Avan Jogia on Wednesday (September 25).

“Happy Late Bi Visibility Day,” she wrote. “This year I’m celebrating by dying with a man by my side (for legal reasons that’s a joke).”

The Columbia Records artist shared more details on X (formerly known as Twitter). She told a fan she was out of the hospital when they asked about her health around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday (September 26).

“I’m home from the hospital now after a few days, so a win is a win!” Halsey wrote.

Another fan questioned if the hospital stint was related to Halsey’s lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder diagnosis. She quickly responded.

“I had a seizure!” Halsey wrote. “Very scary! Don’t recommend it!”

Earlier this year, Halsey opened up about her health struggles after telling fans she was “lucky to be alive.”

“In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder,” she wrote in June. “Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life. After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.”

Halsey addressed her health on the single “The End.” The track will appear on her upcoming album The Great Impersonator, which drops on October 25.

Young Dolph Murder Trial: Prosecutors Offer Vague Reason For Alleged Mastermind’s Absence

Attorneys delivered their closing statements in the Young Dolph murder trial on Thursday (September 26). Jurors never heard from the alleged mastermind Hernandez Govan, who was expected to testify against his co-defendant Justin Johnson.

Johnson, one of the two alleged shooters, was the lone man on the trial for Young Dolph’s 2021 murder. Cornelius Smith, the other gunman, confessed to the murder and identified Johnson as his accomplice in testimony on Monday (September 23). Govan never took the stand.

“I don’t want to go into too much detail but not every potential witness that we might have is necessary in a case,” Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy told reporters. “It’s not always necessary to bring everything you have to bear in order to prove everything beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Johnson’s lawyer Luke Evans called out the prosecution for not calling Govan as a witness in Thursday’s closing statements. Evans suggested Govan was left out of the trial because his testimony would’ve been “unfavorable.”

“I don’t have the ability to wave a magic wand and give him a reduced sentence if he comes in and testify for me, so he’s to my exclusion, to Mr. Johnson’s exclusion and to your exclusion,” Evans told the jury. “And if this is a truth-seeking function, why didn’t the state call him?”

The prosecution denied Evans’ argument. Shelby County Deputy District Attorney Paul Hagerman said Govan had the right not to incriminate himself.

“He is a defendant,” Hagerman declared. “He is not a missing witness. That would be be insane.”

Johnson, Smith and Govan were charged with first-degree murder for Young Dolph’s shooting death. Smith and Govan haven’t formally accepted plea deals but weren’t tried alongside Johnson.

Smith said he and Johnson killed Young Dolph to collect a $100,000 hit put on the late rapper’s head by Yo Gotti’s brother Big Jook. Govan allegedly helped orchestrate the murder.

Anthony “Big Jook” Mims was shot and killed in Memphis in January. No arrests have been made in connection to his death.

Jurors began deliberations in the Young Dolph murder trial on Thursday afternoon. Johnson faced up to life in prison if convicted.

Jadakiss Talks Black Schools, The LOX 30 & His Upcoming Solo Album

AllHipHop had the chance to connect with Jadakiss at The Queen in Wilmington for HBCU week on Wednesday (September 25). As always, he brought that same energy and authenticity, even fresh off The LOX’s 30th Anniversary Tour. The conversation touched on his commitment to supporting HBCUs, the importance of health and wellness in the community and how we can all stay active in our personal growth. Before ‘Kiss hit the stage, I took a moment to talk to the people about the power of voting and why this isn’t the time to play around in our communities’ politics. Free game: it’s never the time to play around. Let’s keep pushing forward together.

Big shout out to The Links of Wilmington, Cameron Calvin Trimble of Hip Politics and Ashley Christopher, ESQ founder of HBCU Week Foundation, for all the work they’re putting into uplifting the culture. We’re at a point where we can’t afford to sit back—this is the time to get engaged and stay involved.

Photos: Marc Bueller, Video Cameraman: Mike Brieere

AllHipHop: We’re here at HBCU Week, right in the heart of Delaware. What does this event mean to you and why is it important for you to be here?

Jadakiss: Anything affiliated with HBCUs is important. My son actually went to Clark Atlanta, and we need more kids enrolling in these schools. With all the focus on NIL (Name, Image and Likeness), D1 programs and big schools, a lot of kids are being persuaded to go elsewhere. So anytime I can support, whether it’s hitting the stage or doing a panel, I’m going to be there. Honestly, I didn’t even know I had this today because we just got back from the West Coast leg of The LOX’s 30th Anniversary Tour. So when they told me I had to be here, I was like, “What?” But I’m here!

AllHipHop: I saw you and The LOX perform at the Congressional Black Caucus event. That was wild. What made y’all do that? It’s a little out of your typical lane.

Jadakiss: They called us! In this game, you’ve got to evolve. We came in a long time ago, and our fans have grown. Some of them have jobs in politics now, and we have to evolve with them. We thought it was something important to do at this stage of our career.

AllHipHop: Without getting too deep into politics, how do you feel about the current state of the country?

Jadakiss: It’s shaky, man. We’re all walking on eggshells. There’s a lot of persuasion, bandwagon politicking, and people trying to sway you. All you can do is make the best decision for yourself, your family, and our people. It’s not easy—every day you see something crazy. I just try to pray a lot and hope for the best.

AllHipHop: The LOX has always been about community. You’re doing a lot with health and wellness, teaching brothers how to stay healthy. How do you plan to replicate that? Any plans to franchise the juice bars?

Jadakiss: When it comes to health and wellness, it’s about one person at a time. That’s what my brother Styles and his wife are doing with Pharmacy for Life and our juice bars, Juices for Life. It’s not just about coming in to buy a juice; if we can inspire you to buy a juicer and make it at home, that’s cool too. We just want to help our community. We all have family members with diabetes, high blood pressure—things like that. We’re just trying to reduce it, slowly but surely.

AllHipHop: Can we expect a new solo album from you?

Jadakiss: I’m actually working on it now. I wasn’t planning to let it out yet, but yeah, I’m working on it. I’ve got two more projects with Def Jam, and hopefully, we continue doing business in the future. If not, it’s all good—I’ll still deliver. But yes, I’m working on it right now.

AllHipHop: How about your son? I saw him signing some paperwork recently.

Jadakiss: Yeah, man, he just bought a new vehicle. Everything’s in his name—his own insurance and all. That’s another proud dad moment. He’s establishing credit and handling his own business. To me, that’s more important than buying your son a chain or some other materialistic stuff.

AllHipHop: I appreciate your time, Jada.

Jadakiss: Anytime, bro.

Mayor Eric Adams Indictment: Federal Public Corruption Charges Unsealed

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on five federal charges, including bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy and soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals. Per the 57-page indictment, which was unsealed on Thursday morning (September 26), the allegations go back to 2014, when Adams was Brooklyn Borough President.

As the indictment explains, “For nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him.”

Allegations against Adams include seeking and accepting illegal “nominee” or “straw” contributions, which led to him defeating “federal laws that serve to prevent foreign influence on U.S. elections.” The indictment follows an extensive federal investigation by the United States Attorney’s Office in Manhattan that dove into his connection to Turkish officials/businessmen and campaign donations he received.

Despite encouragement from other prominent New York politicians to resign, Adams remains defiant.

“It is now my belief that the federal government intends to charge me with crimes,” Adams stated Wednesday evening (September 25). “If so, these charges would be entirely false, based on lies. But they would not be surprising. I always knew that If I stood my ground for all of you that I would be a target —and a target I became. For months, leaks and rumors have been aimed at me in an attempt to undermine my credibility and paint me as guilty. If I am charged, I know I am innocent. I will request an immediate trial so that New Yorkers can hear the truth.”

Adams is a former NYPD captain and took office in January 2022, presenting himself as a fresh face for the Democratic Party. He vowed to be tough on local crime and restore the city after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adams has several days to turn himself in and isn’t expected to appear in court this week. Adams’ residence, Gracie Mansion, was raided by federal authorities on Thursday morning. They reportedly spent three hours inside the home and retrieved his cell phone.

Adams’ attorney Alex Spiro called the search “an effort to create a spectacle” and insisted he would’ve “happily” turned his phone in. Spiro added, “He has not been arrested and looks forward to his day in court.”

Adams’ legal woes started in November 2023, when federal investigators targeted his chief campaign fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, and executed a search warrant at her residence. They grew more serious earlier this month after top members of his staff at City Hall—including two deputy mayors, a senior adviser and the schools chancellor—were also hit with search warrants.

Adams isn’t required to vacate the office in the wake of the indictment, but if pressure to step down proves to be too overwhelming, the city’s public advocate, Jumaane Williams, would step in until a special election occurred.

50 Cent Taunts Eric Adams After Feds Raid Official Mayoral Residence

Federal agents searched New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ home in a dawn raid the morning after news of his indictment was reported.

Footage captured by TMZ showed around a dozen law enforcement agents arriving at the mayor’s official Gracie Mansion on Thursday morning (September 25), just hours before the indictment was set to be unsealed.

Agents seized Adams’ phone during the raid, according to an Associated Press report.

“Federal agents appeared this morning at Gracie Mansion in an effort to create a spectacle (again) and take Mayor Adams’ phone (again),” Alex Spiro told the outlet. “They send a dozen agents to pick up a phone when we would have happily turned it in.”

The indictment marks the first time in the city’s history that a sitting mayor has faced criminal charges and dominated headlines overnight.

50 Cent Trolls Eric Adams With Throwback Diddy Video

The news caught the attention of 50 Cent who taunted the NYC Mayor over the reports, teasing a possible Eric Adams docuseries. Like many online, 50 Cent drew unfounded connections to the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the subject of an upcoming G-Unit Film & Television and Netflix docuseries.

He shared a video of “the bad boy of politics” presenting the Bad Boy Records’ founder the key to New York City last September before Cassie Ventura filed her lawsuit that sparked many others and the eventual federal indictment.

Eric Adams declared his innocence and vowed to fight the charges in a recorded statement on Wednesday evening (September 25).  He also rejected calls to resign and vowed to remain in office amid the investigation.

“If I am charged, I know I am innocent,” he said. “I will request an immediate trial so that New Yorkers can hear the truth.”

Eve was propelled into the mainstream with the success of her debut album, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady in 1999. The project went double platinum and topped the Billboard 200, making Eve the third female rapper to ever do so.

She would go on to score further chart success with hits like “Who’s That Girl?” and collaborations including “Gangsta Lovin’,” featuring Alicia Keys, and “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” featuring Gwen Stefani, which both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In her new memoir, Eve recalled that Ma$e played a pivotal role in her decision to quit dancing and pursue a full-time rap career. She was working at a strip club at the time, rapping for customers to avoid giving lap dances.

Eve Recalls JAY-Z Warning

She also revealed a nugget of advice JAY-Z gave her amid the release of her debut project. He called to congratulate her but also warned that female rappers “don’t really do that well.”

Describing the conversation as a “very amazing phone call that I needed,” Eve explained how it helped motivate her.

“I always felt like I was the underdog anyway. He wasn’t saying it out of malice or [to be] mean,” she said. “That wasn’t about that. It was facts, really. But I was like, eh, OK, let me see. I’ma show you. It’s all good. And it went on to be fine. Like I say in the book, we all have that person.”

DaBaby Launches Mental Health Initiative “DaBaby Cares” Following Family Tragedy

DaBaby has launched a new initiative to address mental health issues in honor of his late brother.

Launched during Suicide Prevention Month, DaBaby Cares aims to “raise awareness and end the stigma around mental health through the Glenn Johnson for Mental Health initiative.”

The rapper lost his brother, Glenn Johnson, to suicide in 2020 and is using his platform to launch a community resource hub providing vital mental health resources to young individuals.

In a statement on the website, DaBaby reflected on the tragic loss of his brother and explained the need for the program.

“On November 3rd, 2020 my brother Glenn Johnson committed suicide, leaving behind 3 beautiful daughters and an amazing son,” he wrote. “I believe that if more of the correct resources were in place to support mental health awareness and self love the world would see far less of these tragedies.”

DaBaby expressed his devotion to providing “the tools needed to combat mental health issues,” and “breaking the long going cycle of mental illness in minority communities & normalizing the conversation around mental health.”

Additionally, DaBaby Cares partnered with Mental Health America of Central Carolinas to produce a free “Mental Health 101 Toolkit” to provide valuable support to his fans across the globe.

“Join me in my journey to save lives one step at a time, while preventing families around the world from enduring the tragic pain of losing a loved one,” DaBaby wrote.

50 Cent Says He’s “Not With All That Freaky S***” As He Discusses Netflix Docuseries On Diddy

50 Cent is opening up about his upcoming Netflix-produced docuseries chronicling the allegations against Diddy.

50 Cent announced his deal with the streaming giant in May after teasing the project for months, and Netflix has now confirmed the project.

During a recent interview with Enthusiast Report, 50 Cent explained why he believes he’s the best person to produce the doc on his longtime rival.

The G-Unit honcho said that he’s “the only one who has been vocal about this long before” it captured the spotlight. He also claimed he can speak out about the allegations, unlike other celebrities, because he didn’t go to any parties.

“I’m just not with all that freaky s###,’ 50 Cent explained. “All that stuff that he’s doing, I’m not into that type of stuff. I’m just a little more, maybe you could say, basic or normal.”

50 Cent Aims To Give A “Voice To The Voiceless”

Alexandria Stapleton, co-producer and director of the docuseries, issued a joint statement with 50 Cent.

“This is a story with significant human impact,” they said in a statement to Variety. “It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far. We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”

50 Cent and Netflix’s docuseries arrives amid two other projects documenting the sex trafficking and racketeering charges and violent abuse allegations against Diddy.

On Wednesday evening (September 25), TMZ shared a trailer for their docuseries, which will air on Tubi. The clip features Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, who announced his client will take the stand in federal court.

Shannon Sharpe Denies Shading Megan Thee Stallion Amid Viral Rant

Shannon Sharpe inadvertently dissed Megan Thee Stallion after firing back at a social media user.

On Wednesday (September 25), the former NFL star and current ESPN personality went on a viral Twitter (X) rant, defending his remarks about WNBA star Caitlyn Clark’s rookie season.

However, Megan Thee Stallion caught a stray from one particular tweet that sparked backlash and accusations of anti-Blackness.

“Why are you one my page?” he replied to a critic. “Don’t you have another horse 2 rob of his hair? Stop trying 2 kill my vibe.”

Nonetheless, Sharpe’s insult was unwittingly directed toward Megan Thee Stallion, as the critic had an image of the rapper as her profile picture. Twitter users were quick to point out his mistake and call him anti-Black.

“Shut up, you’re an anti black c00* who just revealed it bc you replied to someone with an avi of MEGAN THEE STALLION talking about horse hair. Shut up mush mouth!!!” one user replied.

“This is such an anti black thing to say,” added another. “Lmaoo omg this n#### really cooned out now son.”

Shannon Sharpe repeatedly denied dissing Megan Thee Stallion but continued firing back at his critics.

“What’s even more anti black is the ish y’all say 2 black ppl you don’t even know,” he wrote. “I don’t go on ppl tl and talk reckless but some of y’all do and when the response isn’t what you hoped 4. You’re anti black, buck dancing. Get what you give.”

After several further exchanges, Sharpe had a change of heart and issued a PSA.

“Sept 25 2024 at 6:06 pm. I will no longer respond 2 any negativity,” he declared. “It’s not the serious 4 me. I’ve got kids and I would upset with them IF* they responded in this manner. This is beneath me. Y’all pray 4 me tho.”

Diddy Will Testify In Federal Case—Attorney Claims “He Is Very Eager To Tell His Story”

Diddy is “eager” to testify in federal court, according to his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, who revealed that the rap mogul is confident he can defend himself by telling his side of the story.

In an upcoming TMZ Studios documentary, The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo confirmed Diddy will take the stand when his federal case goes to trial.

If he testifies, Diddy can expect to be cross-examined over the surveillance footage of the brutal beating of Cassie Ventura. Nonetheless, his legal team remains confident.

“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Agnifilo said. “I think he is very eager to tell his story and I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video. So I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us.”

Agnifilo also addressed concerns about Diddy being questioned about the infamous “freak-offs” detailed in the indictment and other instances of violence, including allegedly blowing up Kid Cudi’s car.

“He has his story,” Agnifilo explained. “And he has a story that I think only he can tell in the way that he can tell it, in real time. And it’s a human story, it’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak.”

Agnifilo said Diddy describes his relationship with Ventura as one of “heartbreak,” adding, “He was heartbroken. She was heartbroken.”

The story in question is one of alleged sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transporting prostitutes. The indictment describes a long history of abuse and violence toward women, bolstered by his business empire’s resources, power and influence.

In the last year, Diddy has faced multiple lawsuits for similar accusations of sexual violence. Most recently Thalia Graves accused Diddy and his former bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, of drugging and violently raping her at the Bad Boy Records studio in 2001.

The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment is set to air on Thursday night on Tubi, per the trailer.

Cardi B & Offset Trade Explosive Cheating Allegations In Social Media Meltdown

Cardi B and Offset’s divorce drama exploded online in a series of fiery exchanges, with the former couple accusing each other of cheating.

The tension ignited when Cardi B tore into on Offset during an Instagram Live session, airing out their dirty laundry. However, the Migos rapper hopped in the chat to accuse her of sleeping with another man while pregnant. Cardi fired back, claiming Offset admitted to hooking up with her opps and was trying to make her jealous.

As the night wore on, things only got messier, and Cardi B and Offset continued trading jabs on Instagram and X (Twitter).

During her Instagram Live, Cardi B vowed to take Offset to court, claiming he had threatened to take away gifts he bought her in the past because she had moved on.

“I love me s### but you can’t buy me no more,” Cardi declared. “I find it funny that n##### think that they can f### on anything. But when I start talking to n##### you wanna threaten me with taking s### that I f###### worked my ass off for.”

Referencing Offset’s past infidelity, she added, “It’s no fun when momma got the gun, right. It’s no fun when I’m slanging p####.”

Cardi B also claimed, “I’ve always been too good for you,” adding, “You gotta f### other b###### to make yourself feel better because I make you feel so low about yourself.” She then went on to claim he admitted to sleeping with her opps.

“You don’t move with integrity, you’re not a street n####,” she stated. “That’s what you do.”

Offset Claims Cardi B Slept With Another Man During Her Pregnancy

Offset didn’t take the accusations lying down and fired back with an incendiary one of his own. “U f##### with a baby inside tell the truth,” he wrote in the chat.

Cardi B seemingly responded on X (Twitter), writing, “AND DID !!!!!!” She then responded to a user claiming Bia “actually knew Cardi’s tea,” in reference to her diss track.

“That b#### don’t know s###,” the Grammy Award winner replied. “When I’m ready to spill my tea there will be dates on when I started doing my purging !!!!!”

She then dropped dates after Offset called cap on her claims.

“Oh baby trying to side with the opps is never a good look,” she added. “You know I started talkin to nikkas on June 24th. Didn’t I tell you I would spill my own tea???”

The tea-spilling didn’t stop there as Offset repeated his allegations that Cardi B slept with another man while pregnant. He also shared a photo of Future, potentially loaded with a variety of toxic implications. he has since deleted all his tweets.

The former couple also traded words in the Instagram comment section.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Vows To Fight Indictment

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has declared his innocence and vowed to fight the charges in a video statement responding to reports of a federal grand jury indictment

“It is now my belief that the federal government intends to charge me with crimes,” Adams stated Wednesday evening (September 25). “If so, these charges would be entirely false, based on lies. But they would not be surprising. I always knew that If I stood my ground for all of you that I would be a target —and a target I became. For months, leaks and rumors have been aimed at me in an attempt to undermine my credibility and paint me as guilty.”

Adams also rejected calls for his resignation and vowed to remain in office amid the investigation: “If I am charged, I know I am innocent. I will request an immediate trial so that New Yorkers can hear the truth.”

Adams is the first mayor in New York City history to be indicted while in office. The exact nature of the charges remains sealed, but federal prosecutors are expected to reveal details of the indictment on Thursday (September 26).

Federal authorities have expanded their investigation into New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign finances, initially focusing on Turkish-linked donations. They are now probing his interactions with five additional nations: Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea and Uzbekistan.

Subpoenas issued over the summer suggest the investigation aims to uncover whether Adams’ campaign received illegal contributions in exchange for political favors, with ongoing searches examining possible corruption within his administration.

Eric Adams Rejects Calls For His Resignation

Before news of the indictment broke, U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez urged Adams to step down.

“I do not see how Mayor Adams can continue governing New York City,” she tweeted. “For the good of the city, he should resign.

X/Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Adams responded in a statement saying he would “stay and fight no matter what.”

“For anyone who self-righteously claims people charged with serious crimes should not be in jail to now say that the second Black mayor of New York should resign because of rumors and innuendo—without even a single charge being filed—is the height of hypocrisy,” Adams said. “I am leading this city to protect it from exactly that kind of phony politics.”

Why Are Travis Scott & Ty Dolla $ign Spamming Cryptic Phrases Amid Ye’s Art Studio Era?

Kanye West fans may be in for yet another multidisciplinary sensory journey coupling both art and music — and Travis Scott and Ty Dolla $ign may somehow be a part of all of it.

As Ye has continued to ramp up his presence on Instagram, he’s been teasing a number of production videos in which he appears to be stripping his approach back to basics. In a clip he recently shared on his profile, Ye teased a beat for a song fans are prematurely calling “Preacher Man” by sharing a snippet of himself chopping the production up on an Ensoniq ASR-10 sampling keyboard from the ’90s era.

In a sense, the video appeared to signal a return to form of sorts for Ye, in regard to his sample-heavy origins as an artist/producer. As if the clip weren’t enough of a concrete hint as to what is come, both Travis Scott and Ty have proceeded to spam cryptic comments on Ye’s production videos, alluding to some sort of unknown phrase.

”There HE is,” Travis and Ty wrote in comments under the “Preacher Man” video.

An added layer to this entire saga comes from Ye himself, who seemed to announce his plans for a disciplinary switch-up to his current creative flow. In a text conversation with one of his associates who was attempting to pressure Ye into releasing a new single, the Vultures 2 rap mastermind appeared to sidestep the request with an announcement of his own.

”I need to set it up where it’s not my responsibility though,” Ye wrote in the text. “I’m going into fully art studio mode.”

Even though Ye just wrapped up arena listening events in promotion of he and Ty Dolla $ign Vultures 2 project, it appears as though he still has much more planned. What those plans entail though, are seemingly unknown to even his collaborators at the moment. But based on the details, we have at hand currently, it would seem like whatever it is Ye has in store will somehow combine immaculate sampling and highbrow art.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Indicted—Diddy Jokes Fly

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a federal grand jury, marking the first time in the city’s history that a sitting mayor has faced criminal charges. The exact nature of the charges remains sealed, but the investigation has targeted Adams and several of his top advisers.

Federal authorities have been investigating Mayor Eric Adams and members of his administration for some time, issuing subpoenas for documents and cell phones.

Some of Adams’ close associates have resigned amid the probe.

The federal investigation initially focused on donations linked to individuals connected to the Turkish government, but sources now reveal that authorities are examining Adams’ interactions with five additional nations: Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea and Uzbekistan.

The new wave of subpoenas, delivered over the summer, is believed to be connected to a broader probe into whether Adams’ campaign received illegal contributions in exchange for political favors.

The investigation has been ongoing, with federal authorities conducting searches and examining possible corruption within Adams’ administration.

Despite the mounting scrutiny, Adams has consistently denied any involvement in wrongdoing.

The “Bad Boy” of politics’ legal entanglements immediately drew unfounded connections to the recent arrest of Bad Boy Records mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who’s sitting in the Metropolitan Detention Center with no bond after he was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.

38 Spesh’s Hip-Hop Wish Granted As Benny The Butcher Obliges Collab Request

Just when 38 Spesh thought he may never find a worthy Hip-Hop adversary to go on a track, his Buffalo-bred rap peer Benny The Butcher answered the call-to-action.

Spesh released his album Mother & Gun along with the accompanying film earlier this month. We’ll circle back to that project in a moment. However, a key takeaway from the rollout of the album related to Spesh’s latest announcement in conjunction with Benny The Butcher, came about during his recent interview with AllHipHop in which Spesh claimed rappers were running from him. And while that may be partially true, it certainly is the case for his Griselda rap counterpart, who has agreed to appear opposite Spesh to revive their favorite mixtape series via the upcoming Shot & Stabbed 2 collab.

“Hey, yo, y’all know what it is,” Benny The Butcher said in the announcement video 38 Spesh shared on his Instagram Story. “This is the most anticipated street album in a long time. Stabbed & Shot 2. Y’all wanted it. Y’all got it, man. Me and bro.”

Spesh added, “Back and forth, n###a,” he said. “The best to do it. You heard me? Y’all n###as is in trouble. Believe that.”

The pair have made good on their promise to reprise the mixtape series, set for an October 18 release, which debuted its first iteration in 2018. And with the record arriving on the heels of Spesh’s latest solo album, Mother & Gun, the potential for the Rochester rapper to go six for six in releasing standout projects in 2024 remains at a high percentage. On the other hand, though, it remains to be seen whether or not Spesh’s challenge for mainstream rappers to see him in the studio will be answered before the year ends.

“What I don’t like is when you rappers run from me, see me though, and act like y’all not running from me and then keep running from me,” Spesh told AllHipHop while discussing his album during a recent interview. “That s##t bothers me.”

Despite the fact that Spesh has released several collaborative projects this year, namely he and Grafh’s God’s Timing and In God We Trust with The Musalini, Spesh appears to have a hunger to work with artists of another echelon that isn’t currently being fed.

“What I mean by that is, act like ‘Yo I’m going to send you a verse, Yo, I’m going to hop on this joint,’ and it’s not like you asking, but some muthaf###as be like, ‘Nah, yo, we going to—and Imma,’ then when you send a joint, they run,” he said. “And I understand it’s a lot of pressure rapping behind me.”

In a sense, it’s somewhat refreshing that Spesh’s comments didn’t get the chance to truly age, now that he and Benny are gearing up to deliver their joint effort. I guess the question now is whether any other major mainstream lyricists will accept the challenge to rap with Spesh.

For now, check out the post of the pair of New York rappers announcing the project above.

Diddy’s Ex-Bodyguard Says He’s Being “Crucified” With New Lawsuit—Vows To Countersue

Diddy and his former bodyguard, Joseph “Big Joe” Sherman, were sued earlier this week over an alleged sexual assault.

A woman named Thalia Graves claims the duo raped her at New York’s Bad Boy studios in 2001, when she was just 25 years old. She also alleged they drugged her, filmed the encounter and tried to sell the footage as pornography. But according to Sherman, who spoke to the Daily Mail, Graves’ accusations hold no merit.

“I know for a fact that this is a money grab,” Sherman confidently stated. “I’ve never seen this lady. Don’t have any tape of her like she says I have. I’ve never seen her. I never did anything with her. I don’t know, none of this. I don’t even know this lady.”

Sherman also downplayed his relationship with his former boss despite his close affiliation to Diddy at one time.

“I’m being crucified and tortured for something I had nothing to do with me and me and [Diddy] was not even friends,” he said. “We had no relationship whatsoever. I have not been around Diddy for 24 years.”

Diddy was arrested on September 16 and charge with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution in New York. He pleaded not guilty and remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Sherman believes anyone remotely connected to Diddy is under heavy scrutiny, himself included. He volunteered to take a lie detector to prove his innocence.

“I’ve never seen this person before in my life,” he added. “I can swear on it, but my word means nothing. The problem with this right now is, no matter what people like me say, Diddy is in such turmoil and everybody who was ever around him is being blamed for anything he did. Anyone who was around him is automatically guilty.

“So, I understand that no matter what I say out my mouth, the public and people in the media is going to say I’m guilty and I’m a monster and I did this. But as long as I know in my heart and eyes that I had nothing to do with this, I’m fine. I can take a lie detector test any day of the week with any office of the law.”

Sherman founded the pornographic magazine Rhymes N Dimes, which Graves mentions in the complaint: “On information and belief, he has often distributed videos of his and/or his friends’ sexual assaults through his pornography company.”

The complaint alleges Sherman “forcefully slammed Graves onto a table, slapped her and repeatedly thrust his penis into her mouth.” Sherman denied the allegation and instead, called himself the victim of a “shakedown.” He thinks he’s “being used as a pawn” because of his skin tone.

Sherman further addressed the situation in an Instagram post of his own on Wednesday (September 25). He wrote in the caption: “Some of you may not understand there’s two sides to every story. It sad that the world is so one-sided right now ,my publicist and lawyers are not allowing me to put up my side. They said they want to hold my evidence and everything for bigger days so I’m hoping you’ll can be patient.”

Sherman included a press release that asserted he was not employed by Diddy at the time of the alleged incident. Sherman’s attorney, Antoinette Williams, said, “We stand by Mr. Sherman’s innocence and are taking swift legal action to address this fraudulent claim. This false accusation is clearly an attempt to exploit the current situation involving [Diddy]. We are pursuing a defamation lawsuit against all parties involved in these allegations and will ensure that Mr. Sherman’s rights are fully protected under the law.”

Drake Shouts Out $uicideBoy$ After Trending Over Concert Appearance With Mystery Woman

Drake’s attempt to show love to a pair of renowned underground artists has seemingly been overshadowed by the presence of a mystery woman.

On Tuesday (September 24), multiple clips of Drake enjoying the $uicideBoy$ recent concert in Toronto begin trending on social media. In a post the “Circadian Rhythm” lyricist shared on his Instagram account, he penned a glowing shout-out to the $uicideBoy$, describing how their rise has left him filled with a unique sense of pride.

“@yungxrist @suicideleopard what a show that s### made me reflective and proud of the journey for all of us to watch you pack out the Scotia and see the city show you both love…NOLA legends @suicideboys,” Drake wrote in the caption of the post.

However, the highlight of the content circulating didn’t appear to be about Drizzy casually vibing out with the G59 label talent or the fanbase that packed out Scotiabank Arena for the concert. Instead, many users quickly began speculating about the identity of the mystery woman seen standing next to Drake in multiple video clips. Though it has not been directly confirmed, it appears as though Drake and the woman attended the concert together — and there’s even a photo of them essentially standing shoulder-to-shoulder while taking in the show. In the comments section of a post AllHipHop shared of Drake and the mystery woman, a number of users shared their theories about the identity of the OVO top-shotta’s possible suitor.

“Kendrick been right since the beginning,” a user wrote referencing Drake’s recent battle with the West Coast MC.

“On a school night?” another user questioned rhetorically, inferring that the woman was underage.

There were also several users who claimed Drake wasn’t there on a date at all, and in fact, was there scouting sauce to snatch for his upcoming releases.

“He’s there to steal their aura and style… Use it for his next song,” a user alleged.

“Was he there to pick up under age girls, young Boys, or copy there style?? We just never know with Drake,” another user added.

In a sense, it’s more than sad that Drake can’t even pop out in his own city and show artists love without it becoming a scandal. Even more so, it’s crazy to see folks jumping the gun without any sort of concrete info to cling to.

Check out Drake kicking it body-to-body with the unnamed woman below.

6ix9ine Narrowly Avoids Wild Scuffle Days After Ex-Girlfriend’s Explosive Lawsuit

Tekashi 6ix9ine was involved in an altercation outside of a Miami nightclub on Monday (September 23). Video of the incident surfaced days after the controversial rapper’s ex-girlfriend Yailin La Más Viral sued him for battery and nonconsensual pornography, among other claims.

Footage showed 6ix9ine’s crew holding him back as one man repeatedly confronted him near Coco Miami. 6ix9ine’s associates pulled away from the scene and got him into a vehicle before the altercation became physical. Two men began grappling at one point, which led to shoving and punches thrown. 6ix9ine drove away from the scene once the situation started to settle down. There were no arrests, per TMZ.

Days before the nightclub fight, Yailin La Más Viral accused 6ix9ine of abusing her and stealing her money in a lawsuit filed in Florida.

“Throughout and after his relationship with [Yailin], [6ix9ine] has waged an appalling campaign of abuse against her – seeking to dominate, control, and harm her; alienate her from her family and friends; and rob her of hundreds of thousands of dollars of her hard-earned money,” her lawyers wrote. “Over a period of more than a year, [6ix9ine] physically, sexually and emotionally abused [Yailin] – including, among many other acts of abuse and manipulation, drugging her while stealing and diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars of her earnings.”

Dominican Republic authorities arrested 6ix9ine on domestic violence charges in January. The charges stemmed from him allegedly abusing Yailin in December 2023.

Yailin said 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, stole “a huge sum” of money from her during their relationship. She claimed he resorted to revenge pornography after she broke up with him and cut off access to her funds.

“In a final act of abuse, seeking to retaliate against [Yailin] and to reassert control over [her] when she told him their relationship was over – and when his access to her money was cut off – [6ix9ine] appallingly and unlawfully posted private, intimate and sexually explicit videos and photographs of [her] on the X app,” her attorneys noted.

6ix9ine denied the allegations. Yailin sought $1 million in damages.

Diddy’s Lawyer Laughs Off 1,000 Baby Oil Bottles: “He Buys In Bulk”

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo doesn’t think the feds seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil from the Bad Boy Records founder’s home. Agnifilo doubted the government’s baby oil claims in two interviews.

“I don’t think it was 1,000,” Agnifilo said in one interview. “I think it was a lot. I mean there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk.”

The lawyer said he didn’t know “where the number 1,000 came from” in another interview. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams revealed the figure in a post-indictment press conference.

Prosecutors said the baby oil was evidence of Diddy’s “Freak Offs,” which authorities described as “elaborate and produced sex performances.” Diddy and his associates allegedly transported “commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally” for these orgies.

“[Federal agents] seized evidence of the ‘Freak Offs’ – electronic devices that contained images and videos of the ‘Freak Offs’ with multiple victims,” Williams said. “And they seized cases and cases of the kinds of personal lubricant and baby oil that Combs’ staff allegedly used to stock hotel rooms for the ‘Freak Offs.’ More than 1,000 bottles altogether.”

Agnifilo questioned why baby oil was even part of the discussion in Diddy’s criminal case. The attorney dismissively commented on Diddy’s reasons for having so much baby oil.

“One bottle of baby oil goes a long way,” the lawyer said. “I don’t know what you need 1,000 for. I mean he has a big house. He buys in bulk. I think they have Costcos in every place where he has a home … I don’t think it was a 1,000. Let’s just say it’s a lot.”

Diddy was arrested for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution on September 16. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Two judges denied Diddy bail. He is in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Macklemore Walks Back “F*** America” Sentiment—Kind Of

Macklemore has issued a detailed explanation for shouting “F### America” during a recent Seattle concert in support of Palestine. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (September 25), the Grammy Award-winning artist shared a lengthy statement expressing his regret.

“My thoughts and feelings are not always expressed perfectly or politely,” he wrote. “Sometimes I slip up and get caught up in the moment. Saturday night was one of those times. I strive to always lead with love in an effort to bring people together and never to create more division. The ‘Palestine Will Live Forever’ festival I performed at was rooted in peace, love and solidarity. Unfortunately, the historic event in my hometown that brought thousands of people together to raise awareness and money of the people of Palestine has become overshadowed by two words.”

Macklemore (real name Ben Haggerty) went on to say he wished he’d been “in a better place” with the grief and anger he’s experiencing. He continued, “But the truth is I’m not OK. I haven’t been. The last 11.5 months of watching a genocide unfold in front of us has been excruciating on a spiritual, emotional and human level. I have been in utter disbelief with how our government is showing up at this moment in history. I don’t think I’m alone.”

He added, “I am outraged by the fact that we lack money for healthcare, affordable housing and education in America yet we send billions to Israel to commit internationally recognized war crimes.”

Macklemore’s sentiments follow his removal from an upcoming festival. The “Thrift Shop” rapper was expected to perform at the Neon City Festival in Las Vegas in November. But earlier this week, the organizer posted an Instagram post declaring, “Macklemore will no longer be performing due to unforeseen circumstances.” His post arrived less than 24 hours later.

The incident occurred on September 21 at the aforementioned The Palestine Will Live Forever Festival. He was caught on film shouting, “Straight up, say it. I’m not gonna stop you. I’m not gonna stop you. Yeah, F### America!”

As part of his statement, Macklemore applauded the Jewish community and those who continue to speak out.

“I have been in awe and inspired by those in the Jewish community that have courageously shown up in solidarity, marching with posters at protests stating ‘not in our name’ and ‘never again means never again for everyone.’ I don’t think I’m alone.”  He reiterated multiple times his “F### America” chant came from a place of emotional turmoil.

“Some days the genocide displayed on my screen is too much for my spirit to stare at in such clarity,” he said. “And some days I wake up, see another couple billion dollars given to Israel, or another refugee camp destroyed, or a father holding a limb from his martyred child, or another speech from a politician justifying the right of Israel to ‘defend itself’ while denying Palestinians the right to exist, and I say to myself ‘F### America.'”

Finally, he encouraged his 6.6 million followers not to confuse the world “f###” with “hate,” and that his anger was directed solely at the government and politicians.

“Do not misconstrue the word ‘f###’ for the word ‘hate,'” he said. “It’s different to be angry than to disown. My ‘f###’—my anger—is rooted not in disdain for where I was born but in anguish for how we can collectively allow this to continue.”

Macklemore has been outspoken about the ongoing war since May, when he released “Hinds Hall.” He followed up with “Hinds Hall 2” in which he calls out Vice President Kamala Harris directly.

“Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you’re listening/But stop sending money and weapons or you ain’t winning Michigan,” he raps in the third verse. “We uncommitted, and hell no we ain’t switching positions/Because the whole world turned Palestinian/I see them murdered children in Gaza and I see my babies/Life being stripped from the bombs we’re making.”
