Oprah Responds To Taraji P. Henson’s Complaints About “The Color Purple” Production

Oprah Winfrey decided to address some recent comments by Taraji P. Henson. The Color Purple producer reacted to the controversy on the 2024 Golden Globe Awards red carpet.

“I heard I was trending yesterday because people are saying that I was not supporting Taraji,” Oprah Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight‘s Kevin Frazier at the event.

She continued, “Taraji will tell you herself that I’ve been the greatest champion of this film, championing not only the behind-the-scenes production but also everything that everybody needed.”

“I Can’t Drive Myself To Set,” Says Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson stars as Shug Avery in the Blitz Bazawule-directed 2023 remake of The Color Purple. The veteran actress recently talked about some of the issues she and her castmates had to deal with during the movie’s filming.

“They gave us rental cars, and I was like, ‘I can’t drive myself to set in Atlanta.’ This is insurance liability, it’s dangerous. Now they robbing people. What do I look like, taking myself to work by myself in a rental car?” Henson stated during an interview.

The Washington, DC native also said, “So I was like, ‘Can I get a driver or security to take me?’ I’m not asking for the moon. They’re like, ‘Well, if we do it for you, we got to do it for everybody.’ Well, do it for everybody! It’s stuff like that, stuff I shouldn’t have to fight for.”

Oprah Claims There Are No Issues Between Her & Taraji

In addition, Taraji P. Henson sparked discussions about the treatment of Black actresses. The Oscar and Emmy-nominated performer called out the Hollywood system for supposedly underpaying African-American women

“Whenever I heard there was an issue or there was a problem, there’s was a problem with the cars or there a problem with the food I would step in and do whatever I could to make it right,” Oprah insisted in her ET interview. “I believe that [Taraji P. Henson] would even vouch for that and say that it’s true.”

Winfrey went on to state, “There’s no validity to there being a thing between Taraji and I.” The Color Purple scored two Golden Globe nominations for Fantasia Barrino (Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical) and Danielle Brooks (Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture). Neither woman won their respective category.

Idris Elba Calls For Swift U.K Ban On Machetes & “Zombie” Knives To End Youth Violence

Idris Elba is calling on the British government to immediately ban machetes and “zombie” knives, among other initiatives, to tackle the nation’s youth knife violence problem.

On Monday (January 8), the actor outlined his mission and also released a new song “with an important message” as part of his campaign called Don’t Stop Your Future.

“I can’t stay silent as more young lives are lost to these brutal and heartless crimes,” Elba explained, per The Guardian. “As school returns, too many young people will not be joining their classmates and too many grieving families have lost a young person they love in recent years. Young people are our future, their potential deserves to be met, not taken away by violence.”

Idris Elba united with families who’ve lost loved ones to knife crimes to create an installation featuring victims’ clothing outside London’s Parliament Square.

In a video posted on his Instagram Story, Elba explained his intention to put the issue “right under the noses” of politicians as they arrived for work Monday.

While the British government announced last August that tougher measures targeting machetes and zombie-style knives would be introduced, with a ban on some knives, the legislation has not yet passed.

“Parliament has repeatedly not given this issue the focus it deserves,” Elba continued. “Our political leaders need to prioritise it now. As well as an immediate ban on zombie knives and machetes, we need to give young people more of a reason not to carry a weapon in the first place. That means investing in the services that address the root causes of violent crime.”

Alongside the immediate ban, Idris Elba called for more desperately needed funding for youth services. He’s also urging the government to create a cross-party coalition to end knife crime.

NLE Choppa’s Mom Fires Back At Blueface: “Keep My Name Out Your Mouth”

The ongoing war of words between NLE Choppa and Blueface has now brought family members into the feud. Choppa’s mother, Angela Potts, had some things to say to her son’s adversary.

“First of all, Blueface, keep me out y’all b#######,” Angela Potts said in a video posted to social media. “Keep my name out your mouth, ’cause I don’t play with kids.”

She continued, “Second of all, that’s y’all on the Internet, two associates, playing on the Internet, going back and forth. You talking about some ‘squabble up.’ He’s talking about getting into boxing. When, truth be told, y’all were joking anyway. It wasn’t supposed to be no match or no real fight.”

Blueface Threw Shots At NLE Choppa’s Baby Mama

NLE Choppa and Blueface have been trading insults online for several days. This round in the beef kicked off when Blueface threw shade at the mother of Choppa’s child on the “Barbie Remix” song.

“F### yo feelings, you a son of a b####. Oh, N-L-E baby mama wanna hit. Why you lying ’bout the number, b####? You know I got the digits,” Blueface rapped on the new version of Jaidyn Alexis’s viral hit.

Then the situation escalated to the point where Blueface told NLE Choppa to “squabble up or shut up.” The “Shotta Flow” rapper responded to Blueface by challenging him to a boxing match.

Did Blueface Have Wack 100 Call Choppa’s Mom?

NLE Choppa later called out Blueface for promoting the potential bout without his official approval. The 21-year-old Memphis native also suggested he needed time to prepare for the fight since Blueface has boxing experience.

“A fake flyer [gets] posted, I speak on it and I say the fight should be set up properly with enough time to train and I’m scared vs the mane posting fake flyers knowing imma say what I said to manipulate it as if I’m running or ducking you. N#### a crip narcissist,” Choppa tweeted on Saturday (January 6).

He also wrote, “Then he had [Wack 100] call my momma to call off the fight [face with tears of joy emojis]. Ma deuce got it on video who really SCARED [face with tears of joy emojis]. Ms. Potts post the video please he talm bout I got my mommy he had to get his DADDDDDY [face with tears of joy emojis].”

Ari Lennox Swears Off Opening For Other Artists After “Disrespect” On Disastrous Rod Wave Tour

Ari Lennox is opening up about her time on tour with Rod Wave, including the viral water bottle-throwing incident.

The R&B singer hit the road last fall as the opening act of Wave’s Nostalgia Tour. However, according to Lennox, the Florida rapper’s fans had no time for her singing and ruined the experience for her.

During a heartfelt Instagram Live chat with her fans, Ari Lennox recalled being heckled by fans and even assaulted during the tour.

“I can’t deal with s### like that,” she explained, adding that she would never allow others to be treated that way.

“It’s one thing to hate me, that’s fine,” she added. ”But it’s another thing to be like ‘Get this b#### off stage,” or like have your little signs or like assault me. What is this aggression? Like you’re that p#####?”

While she’s appreciative that she was able to pay off “a lot of bills,” Ari Lennox said the “disrespect” from fans made the two-and-a-half months she was on tour with Rod Wave a “very hard,” and “lonely” one.

“I get why it does not make sense to open up for … anybody,” she said later during the stream. “That type of music, I’m good. It’s f##### up but it is what it is. It’s a certain type of energy where people are disrespectful as hell.”

She continued, “I watched it with Rico Nasty, same s###. There’s a certain type of fan base that you’re like, literally aggressive. I’m okay. Like I got to worry about getting touched and I’m just here doing a job.”

Ari Lennox Wasn’t Surprised Fan Threw Bottle At Her

Elsewhere during the stream, Ari Lennox addressed getting hit with a water bottle thrown by a fan while on tour with Rod Wave.

“That side of the stage, like, I felt the energy,” she said of the viral incident. “I wasn’t surprised that it happened. I felt it. First of all, it was all darkness. That was literally the energy coming from the left side.”

Back in November, the “Pressure” hitmaker launched into a furious tirade against the missile thrower.

“Don’t you ever disrespect a beautiful Black woman on the f###### stage like that. I will f###### f### you up!” she said during the concert before calling out the alleged culprit and later walking offstage.

On Sunday (January 7), Latto previewed a new single on social media alongside a video teaser of the track. While many praised the song as a potential banger, eager for a release, one line in particular caught fans’ attention.

“I just want a one-on-one, don’t know why she so nervous,” Latto raps on the song. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the video for Ice Spice’s latest song “Pretty Girl,” played in the background as Latto called out her unnamed rival.

Fans from both camps reacted to the subliminal shot on social media, adding fuel to the simmering feud between them.

“O @Latto SHADES @icespicee_ requesting a ONE ON ONE and then plays ICE SPICE in the background SO SHE CATCHES THE DIRECT WHACK,” wrote one Latto fan. GENIUS!!!!!! I LOVE FEMALE RAP.”

“Latto thought she could play in ice spice’s face and got gathered not even 2 hours later,” one fan wrote.

During a November interview, the “Lottery” hitmaker said that although the Hip-Hop industry is “cliquey,” it’s fans that actually drive beef between artists.

“I think it really don’t be a problem until we let fans, Stans, whatever you want to call them, like the outsiders once they get in the mix. I think that’s what stirs the pot,” she told XXL

“Once they get to comparing, they will turn us against each other,” she added. “Which is very weak-minded of us as female rappers.”

Nicki Minaj Flexes Her Pen Writing New “FTCU” Verse On Instagram Live

Nicki Minaj gave her fans a treat over the weekend, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how she pens her raps, composing a new “FTCU” verse in front of tens of thousands of her fans live on Instagram.

Over the years, the NYC rap icon has faced accusations that she doesn’t write her own raps, something she strenuously denies.

During an Instagram livestream from the studio Sunday (January 7), Minaj showed off her writing process, demonstrating how easy it is for her to create a new flow for Pink Friday 2 hit “FTCU,” on a remix she called ” Stuck the Plug Up.”

“Y’all wanna help Roman write the third verse right now? she asked, referring to one of her alter egos.

After deciding on her opening line, “No hoe, sucks for you,” she turned to her The Barbz in the chat.

“Making up a flow means simply being yourself on a track,” she instructed before explaining a double entendre.

Nicki Minaj told Ebro Darden during their Apple Music interview that PF2 collaborator J. Cole’s reaction is responsible for “FTCU” being so high on the album’s tracklist.

She revealed that Drake had considered the track for his For All The Dogs album.

“I sent it to him when I did it, because I loved the beat,” Minaj said. “But I wasn’t sure about the chorus. So then when J. Cole was listening to it and he was bopping, and then the, ‘High heels on…’ when that dude was saying goodbye and that sh*t dropped. If you would’ve seen him, it was the dopest f###### thing.”

However, Nicki Minaj was still concerned about whether FTCU would get radio play until some encouragement from Cole.

“He was like, ‘Who cares?’” she added. “He was like, ‘Man, f### the radio.’”

Freddie Gibbs’s Baby Moms Drops A Diss Inspired By B.I.G.

This is sad, but 2024 seems to be giving us the worst of the worst early.

Alright, we’re diving into some serious drama here! Freddie Gibbs, known for his slick rhymes, rap beefs and bold persona, seems to have hit a rough patch in his personal life.

So Gibbs, started dating Destini, also known as The Fit Mami, back in 2020. They weren’t just low-key about their thing either; these two were flaunting their love on social media like it was going out of style. Paris trips, matching Cubs jerseys – the whole nine yards.

But here’s where it gets messy. The Fit Mami hopped onto Twitter and slandered Gibbs. According to her, things took a wild turn when she got pregnant. She’s said Gibbs was all about starting a family but suddenly ghosted her.

Fit Mami has channeled her fury into music. Taking a leaf out of The Notorious B.I.G.’s book, she’s dropped a diss track. Yeah, you heard that right. She’s calling out Freddie Gibbs in the most Hip-Hop way possible, labeling him a bum and accusing him of not caring for their child.

Now, this is heavy stuff, and it’s important to remember we’re only hearing one side of the story. In these situations, there are often layers we don’t see, and the truth can be a slippery thing. But one thing’s for sure – this drama is as real as it gets, and it’s unfolding for all to see.

I am wondering if she wrote it?

There are a couple of things to note. One, she has their baby in the video, which is a low blow. On top of that, she has the baby in an Adidas suit with Jordans on! She says Freddie can’t get it up, but she sure got her knocked up.

As for Freddie Gibbs, we’re yet to hear his side of the story. Will he respond with his own track? Will he hit back on Twitter? Or will he keep it quiet? Only time will tell. But for now, the world of Hip-Hop is buzzing with this latest drama, and all eyes are on Gibbs and The Fit Mami. LOL!

Taraji P. Henson Gives Props To “Respectful” Paris Fans While Recalling Chicago “Screaming” Match

Taraji P. Henson was once yelled at by a man in a shop for refusing to take a photo. The Empire actress recalled an unpleasant encounter with a man during a shopping trip on a recent episode of the “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard” podcast.

“I got into a screaming match, well I wasn’t screaming, he was, in Chicago at a Target because this guy said that I’m supposed to take pictures because that’s what comes with the job and you’re not supposed to be mad,” she remembered. “So I’m always supposed to be on, I can’t just come and buy my toilet tissues and paper towels like everybody else? ‘Well that’s what you asked for!'”

Rather than getting into an argument with the man, Henson “showed him compassion” and walked away from the situation. The 53-year-old went on to explain that a person’s approach can make all the difference and cited her “respectful” fans in Paris.

“They know my name, they’re not calling me Cookie,” she said. “They are so generous and respectful. When I go there, I will stop everything I’m doing to take a picture, (it’s) just how they approach you.”

Taraji P. Henson also noted that she doesn’t want to become so famous that she can no longer blend into a crowd.

“I learned from Regina King, who’s a dear dear sister friend of mine, and I loved how she was able to move (out in public) and I was like, ‘I want to be like that,'” she said. “I want to be recognized but I can still blend in ’cause I take on characters in life so it’s imperative that I get to people watch… It’s getting harder and harder to do but I fight for that.”

EXCLUSIVE: Kodak Black Could Serve Original Jail Sentence Donald Trump Commuted In 2020

Kodak Black will remain in jail for at least the next two weeks, AllHipHop can confirm. The Pompano Beach, Florida native (legal name Bill K. Kapri) will have the final hearing regarding revocation of his supervised release in Miami Division before Judge Jose E. Martinez on January 22 at 11:30 a.m. ET. If the hearing doesn’t go in his favor, Kodak Black could wind up serving the original sentence Donald Trump commuted in 2020.

The latest legal troubles for Kodak Black stem from an incident in Plantation, Florida last month when police discovered his Bentley SUV parked in a roadway with the engine still running. When they approached the vehicle, they said Kodak Black was asleep behind the wheel and there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. They also claimed they found rolling papers, weed residue near the center console and the smell of alcohol.

Cops then alleged Kodak Black’s mouth was “full of white powder.” Nearby was a white rock-like substance, which he initially claimed was Percocet. After a test of the substance, along with a white plastic bag in his pocket, it was confirmed the residue was actually cocaine. Consequently, he was charged with cocaine possession, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and improper stop, stand or park.

Kodak Black is still on probation, even though he received the pardon. He was supposed to serve a three-year prison sentence for lying on a federal gun application. Now, it’s possible he could wind up back in jail for a significant period of time.

Kodak Black has a string of legal troubles since his rise to rap notoriety. In July 2022, he was taken into custody on charges of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription and trafficking oxycodone. Officers pulled him over in Fort Lauderdale for tinted windows, which appeared darker than the legal limit. A routine check revealed the vehicle’s registration and Kodak Black’s driving license were expired. They also found nearly $75,000 in cash and a small clear bag containing 31 white tablets that were later identified as oxycodone. He was ordered to drug rehab.

Blueface’s Debt To Las Vegas Strip Club Owner Balloons To Over $14 Million

Blueface’s legal troubles continue to stack up. According to TMZ, the controversial rapper still owes the now-defunct Euphoric Gentleman’s Club in Las Vegas millions of dollars over a 2022 shooting. Due to mounting interest, the court’s original $13,072,482 judgment has ballooned to $14,386,164.23 since it was first ordered in October 2023.

Blueface accepted a plea deal in the case and escaped with probation, but he was still ordered to pay the hefty judgment for the venue’s lost revenue and another $84,000 to cover the employees’ lost wages.

Euphoric’s owner sued Blueface last year, saying he was forced to close the strip club after Blueface shot a man outside of the establishment. The owner said the club’s licenses were revoked “as a direct result” of Blueface’s negligence and reckless conduct. Blueface was originally charged with attempted murder, but the aforementioned plea deal reduced his charges to battery and discharging a firearm at or into an occupied structure.

The victim, Kentabius Traylor, was frustrated by the sentence, saying at the time, “I’m just completely disappointed in this complete process, actually. From the D.A. to his representation to him to everything, it’s just all been a complete drop of the ball on my end. I have completely lost faith in the justice system. This crime has done nothing but take a toll on my life since the day it happened. I haven’t been able to get work. Everything has gone down the drain.”

The incident started after Traylor recognized Blueface and talked with him in the club. As the rapper was leaving, Traylor said he “remarked on Blueface speaking with some females in a cheap vehicle.” Traylor said he was joking, but he was attacked by multiple men he believed to be part of Blueface’s entourage. Gunshots were fired at Traylor as he tried to drive away, leading to a bullet graze wound to his left hand and multiple bruises on his body.

Police identified Blueface as a man seen firing at Traylor in surveillance footage from outside the club. He was arrested on November 15, 2023 outside the Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, the same intersection where Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in 1996.

Blueface posted $50,000 bond and was released.

B.G. Boldly Defends Lil Wayne Diss: “This Family Business”

Cash Money Records artist B.G.—who recently got out of prison—blatantly dissed Lil Wayne on the new Finesse2Tymes single “Gangstafied.” Now, he’s defending his choice to call Lil Wayne a “b####” in a video uploaded to social media on Saturday (January 6). In the clip, B.G. brushes off the line, saying, “Brothers fight sometimes.”

He went on, “To really understand what the f### be going on, I tell a n#### I love him and call him a b#### all in the same sentence. It’s family business, man. Shout out to my lil brother Weezy. I talked to my little brother last night. Shout out to Shorty. He’s still my little bro. I love my little brother. S### be complicated sometimes.”

B.G. (short for “Baby Gangsta”) hails from New Orleans. In 1997, he, Lil Wayne, Juvenile and Turk collectively formed the Hot Boys. B.G. released several solo albums for Cash Money, including 1999’s platinum-selling Chopper City in the Ghetto. In 2001, he resigned from Cash Money and created his own label, Chopper City Records.

In November 2009, B.G. was arrested in NOLA after police pulled over his Chevrolet Tahoe during a routine traffic stop. During a search of the vehicle, police found three guns, two of which were reported stolen. He was promptly booked into the Orleans Parish Jail on an illegal carrying of weapons charge.

He appeared in court the following February and entered a not guilty plea. According to the indictment, B.G. and his two passengers in the vehicle conspired to obstruct justice when one signed what prosecutors later categorized as a “false affidavit” when he took sole responsibility for the firearms. One passenger pleaded guilty for “his role in the offenses” and was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison, while the other pleaded guilty to Misprision of a felony and received 30 months in prison. On December 7, 2011, B.G. pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. He was sentenced to 14 years in a federal prison and three years federal supervision upon his release.

As for the line in question, B.G. takes a clear shot at Lil Wayne with, “My n#### Weezy steady touring, but he’s a b#tch and it’s showing.” Watch the video below.

Rapper, actor, and philanthropist T.I. was honored with the Phoenix Award by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens recently. The award, which represents the highest accolade bestowed by the City of Atlanta, was presented to T.I. in recognition of his extensive philanthropic efforts and contributions to the entertainment industry.

The award ceremony took place on December 29, 2023, during T.I.’s closing symphony performance at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. This performance, which featured The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, was part of a two-night sold-out event celebrating the 20th Anniversary of T.I.’s influential album Trap Muzik.

Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Senator Raphael Warnock, Phillana Williams and others joined T.I. on stage for this occasion. Their presence underscored the significance of T.I.’s contributions to the city and the broader community.

EXCLUSIVE: T.I. & Tiny Accuser Allegedly Demanded $10 Million On New Year’s Eve

The accolades have not stopped legal drama at the end of the year for T.I.

A woman in California filed a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and battery was filed against T.I. and wife Tiny Harris. The couple has vehemently denied the accusations. The lawsuit, initiated by an individual identified only as Jane Doe, claims the incident occurred in a hotel room around 2005.

Jane Doe’s legal action states that she encountered the couple through an acquaintance known as Caviar at a party hosted by deceased rapper Coolio. The lawsuit alleges sexual assault, battery, false imprisonment, and negligence against T.I. and Tiny.

T.I. and Tiny denied the allegations in a statement to AllHipHop on Wednesday, January 3, categorically denying any wrongdoing. The lawsuit’s timing is significant, coming nearly two decades after the alleged incident. This delay was made possible by California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act, a recent law that allows for the filing of civil claims that would otherwise be barred by the statute of limitations.

This legal change has opened a new avenue for claims like Jane Doe’s to be pursued in court.

Sources close to the matter say that the lawyer for Jane Doe tried to fleece $10 million from the Harrises and they would withdraw the lawsuit.

Halle Bailey Was Pregnant After All—Welcomes First Child With DDG

Halle Bailey and rapper DDG have announced the birth of their first child following months of pregnancy rumors. The Color Purple actress shared an Instagram photo of her baby’s tiny hand on Saturday night (January 6) with the caption, “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo. the world is desperate to know you.”

The announcement elicited a slew of comments from famous names such as Nicki Minaj, D-Nice, Sheila E, Dem Jointz, City Girls’ JT and model Winnie Harlow. DDG commented as well, writing simply, “Super Mom” with a series of three hearts. DDG shared a similar post with the caption, “My biggest blessing by far, son son. Never been so in love. Baby Halo.”

A post shared by Halle Bailey (@hallebailey)

Pregnancy rumors ramped up last month after the couple shared a Christmas video to social media. Fans quickly noted Bailey willingly showed off her entire body after months of hiding her stomach with large gowns and oversized bags. In one video, Bailey and DDG donned matching Christmas pajamas to bake cookies. As Bailey got up from her chair to fetch a spatula, she braced herself as she slowly gets up. Some fans concluded her labored movements and slow walk meant she’d given birth.

Evidently, they were right—although DDG made a valiant effort to keep the pregnancy a secret. When a fan recently asked on Snapchat whether he had a child with Bailey, he simply responded, “No.” He also expressed how tired he was of people prying into his personal life, adding,  “I don’t know why people is so invested in what I got going on or what we got going on. Mind your business. Go outside. Touch some grass. Go do a cartwheel in the backyard or something. It’s weird. I genuinely don’t be understanding. Why do y’all be so invested in people that don’t know you?

Bailey currently stars in The Color Purple alongside Taraji P. Henson.

SIGNS: Alaska Airlines Plane’s Panel Blows Out Mid-Flight; Sparks “Burnt Toast” Debate

Some final destination type s###t occurred on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 and caused the aircraft to make an emergency landing after a panel on the side of the plane blew off mid-flight.

That’s right, the flight bound for Ontario, California experienced a depressurization soon after departing from Portland, Oregon, which caused a window and a portion of a side wall of the 737 Max 9 plane to essentially implode. According to reports, the two passengers who would’ve been sitting at the site of the depressurization event missed their flights and weren’t onboard at the time of the anomaly.

As news of the Alaska Airlines flight began trending on Twitter (X), users began debating whether this could be a textbook example of the “burnt toast” theory. More specifically, rather than being conspiracy-based, the theory is more a positivity reframing tool that establishes the idea that minor inconveniences may actually be protecting you from a worse situation or outcome.

Amber Rose “Best Friends” With Wiz Khalifa; Slaps Down Chris Rock

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa are now “best friends.”

In a preview clip from her appearance on Tamron Hall’s eponymous show, the model opened up about her co-parenting relationship with the rapper after being asked why she has spoken so candidly about her heartbreak over their split.

“I think that me and Wiz are so, best friends now, that – we’re so far past being in love that I can say that now, right? It’s not like anything that we would circle back to or anything. We’re just friends and co-parents,” the 40-year-old explained.

Amber and Wiz, real name Cameron Thomaz, were married between 2013 and 2014 and share a 10-year-old son named Sebastian. When asked for the lesson she learned from her heartbreak, Amber joked, “Never love again, but then I did, and the same thing happened,” referring to her four-year-old son Slash Electric, who shares with her ex-boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards.

“Stay away from me, that’s the lesson,” she quipped. Amber, who was recently linked to Chris Rock, also told Tamron that she is not interested in dating.
“Right now, I love myself. I love my kids. I’m not thinking about no man, Tamron. Not right now,” the TV personality said.

SZA Vows To Hold Whoever Leaked Her Music Accountable “To The Full Extent Of The Law”

SZA has issued a stern warning to anyone and everyone who has been leaking her music. On Saturday (January 6), the Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA singer issued a statement on Twitter (X) and vowed to catch the culprits.

“LEAKING MY MUSIC IS STEALING,” she wrote in all caps. “THIS IS MY JOB. THIS IS MY LIFE AND MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. YOU ARE A F###NG THIEF AND I PROMISE TO PUT MAXIMUM ENERGY INTO HOLDING EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW . I AM TIRED.”

SZA had one of 2023’s biggest albums of the year, SOS. The project spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and broke the record for the largest streaming week for an R&B album in the U.S. Six of the songs landed in the Top 10, including “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” “Nobody Gets Me” and “Snooze.” SZA earned her first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Kill Bill” in 2023. She later earned her second chart-topping single as a featured artist on Drake’s “Slime You Out.”

Released on December 9, 2023, SOS served as the follow-up to 2017’s Ctrl and featured guest appearances from Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Other contributors included Babyface, Jeff Bhasker, Rob Bisel, Benny Blanco, Darkchild, DJ Dahi, Ant Clemons and Lizzo.

SZA expressed just how frustrated she is with people leaking her music in a recent interview with Variety, which recently named her Hitmaker of the Year.

“When people leak my songs, they ruin them,” she said. “Then it’s not mine anymore; it’s actually yours. It’s something unfinished that you decided was ready to be shared. And it’s like, ‘F### you. Now I’m not releasing it.’ Play your leak, but you’re not gonna bully me into dropping music. I’m now embarrassed by this less-than-correct version that you put out. You’ve sent me into a weird space creatively when you could have just waited for me, but you’re selfish.”

Houston Rapper Viper Arrested For Allegedly Kidnapping & Holding Woman Captive For Years

Houston rapper Viper (real name Leonard “Lee” Carter) was arrested by local police Thursday (January 4) on charges of aggravated kidnapping. According to the Houston Chronicle, Carter allegedly held a woman captive in his south Houston home for years. He’s currently being held at Harris County Jail and expected to see the judge on Monday (January 8).

As explained in the court documents, Houston Police Department officers responded to a complaint at Carter’s home in April 2023. The caller, who reported a kidnapping in progress, turned out to be Carter’s alleged victim, who said she’d been held against her will for at least “four or five years.” The woman and officer continued communicating through a window on the far side of the home where an attached garage stood. She alleged Carter kidnapped her while she was panhandling off of Almeda Genoa Road. The woman told the officer she was struggling at the time and when she was approached by Carter, she willingly got in his car.

The woman told police Carter kept her locked up in the garage for years, feeding her drugs—including crack cocaine—and chips while sexually assaulting her regularly repeatedly and depriving her of a working bathroom or shower. On occasion, Carter would let her into his home to bathe but then return her to confinement. The woman was able to break through the garage window and crawl out of the structure at one point, but police took her to the hospital and soon released her back to Carter. Following the incident, Carter allegedly boarded up the interior of the garage window and threatened her with physical violence if she did it again.

The woman was allowed to use Carter’s laptop on April 7, 2023 and she used a Text Now app to dispatch police to the home. Officers described the disheveled woman as about 5’2″, roughly 70 pounds and clearly malnourished.

After the garage was pried open by the Houston Fire Department, authorities discovered a mattress covered in “fresh vomit,” bags of chips and Twinkies, a “makeshift toilet” and dripping faucet. The woman’s hair was “crusty” and her clothes were “filthy dirty.” She told officers she begged Carter to release her from captivity every day and subsisted primarily on snacks.

Carter is perhaps best known for his 2008 album, You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack.
