Lil Nas X Talks New Project With Fans On Twitter

After exploding on the scene 2019 EP, “7” and doubling back with the hit-heavy “Montero” in 2021, Lil Nas X is sharing what’s next for him.

On Monday, Feb. 20, he hopped on Twitter to engage with his fans and dropped some jewels about upcoming music and what fans can expect.

One fan asked, “AHH CAN YOU MAKE A ANOTHER SAD SONG🥺,” and he responded, “I didn’t make many of those I been too happy lately.”

Another fan asked him “when is the album coming” and he told them it was coming out in the summer, adding that some songs have already been leaked.

When someone asked, “How many tracks confirmed?”

The “Old Town Road” rapper said, “idk I love so many songs plus I’m still in the studio making music so it’s gone be hard to pick.”

Fiddy, whose user name is @nasxfiddy, said “Take your time but also hurry the hell up.”

Lil Nas X took that in stride but offered (understanding the urgency of his fans’ request), “it’s mostly planning now. I could easily just release music but I have to build moments around this s###. I have to go bigger than before!”

This new project will be almost two years after his last, which was nominated for Album of the Year, “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and “Industry Baby” was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the Grammy Awards.

While he did not win, he does have two of the golden trophies from his previous project and break-out song,  “Old Town Road”(Remix) featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.

Rapper Oh Boy Prince Speaks On 18-Wheeler Brake Pad Accident And Says He Wants Justice

After being in a horrible accident while driving in Texas, Brooklyn native Oh Boy Prince is finally speaking out.

On Friday, Jan. 6, the “Stanky Leg” artist says he was cruising in his car on Interstate 30 with his girlfriend Unique Musick when the tragedy happened.

According to The Shade Room, within a half hour of them dropping their son off, a brake pad from a nearby 18-wheeler, flew off and hit his car.  The pad broke through the windshield and their dashboard, and then hit the rapper in the face. Ultimately, the pad landed in the child’s car seat in the back of the vehicle— after causing so much damage.

Oh Boy Prince says he doesn’t remember what happened, saying, “I just passed out.”

“She kept telling me to get off the gas and hit the brake,” he recalls. At this point, Unique had to grab the wheel to stop the car from crashing.

When explaining how he felt, the chart-topper shared he was “at a loss for words” and believes he was “numb.”

Unique’s quick thinking saved the day.

Eventually, emergency professionals took the rapper to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he had three surgeries on his face and mouth, the next day. He spent a total of five days in the hospital.

He said, “The impact fractured the bones in my face and right eye socket, so they had to put plates in my face, and screws and wires in my jaw.”

Now, he is sharing that he has obtained a lawyer and wants to get justice. However, one obstacle is figuring out which 18-wheeler actually hit him. It is hard to tell which one hit him because of the camera angle from the car. A wall is blocking the view of the accident.

Now, according to Oh Boy Prince, “No one has been charged in this case of being held responsible.”

He also said, he wants “justice.”

He and his attorneys are advocating for safety precautions on the highway and more cameras on the road.

Unique says, “I feel like 18-wheelers need to make sure they’re getting the vehicle checked before hitting the road. We could have died.”

Nas Talks Foreseeing Hip Hop’s Global Success On ‘The Late Show’

Back in 2021, Nasir “Nas” Jones announced Hip Hop 50, a special three-year-long initiative honoring Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary. The Showtime network presented original programming dedicated to the celebration.

Nas also turns 50 years old later this year. The rap icon’s discography spans four decades. His King’s Disease album trilogy released between 2020 and 2022 earned the New Yorker some of the best reviews of his career.

When Nas dropped the classic Illmatic in 1994, Hip Hop had just reached the legal drinking age. There was still uncertainty about the culture’s future at the time. Stephen Colbert asked the Mass Appeal Records boss if he foresaw Hip Hop becoming the global phenomenon it is today.

“I did. I saw the potential,” Nas responded. “When it was in the early stages, the early 80s, I would ask older people like my dad and mom, ‘What do you think about this?’ I would ask them, ‘Do you like this? Do you get it?’ Some songs, yes. Some songs, no. But when they did get it, I said, ‘There’s hope.'”

The venture capitalist/philanthropist continued, “When [Hip Hop] made it to the silver screen – there were movies like Breakin’, Beat Street, and Krush Groove – I said if it can make it to the silver screen, it’s gonna be around.”

Nas Heads To MSG In His Hometown For A One-Night-Only Concert

On Friday, Nas will headline a performance inside The World’s Most Famous Arena, New York City’s historic Madison Square Garden, for the first time. The “King’s Disease Trilogy – One Night Only” concert comes on the heels of King’s Disease III arriving on DSPs in November.

“It’s sort of surreal. It’s like a dream,” said Nas about his upcoming MSG show. “I never thought I would be there. I thought about when I got into music. And I thought like, ‘I gotta play that place when I make it.’ All the years escaped me because I got busy doing so many other things. Then I started releasing music again so I said now is the right time.”

King’s Disease III became Nas’s sixteenth Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart. 2020’s King’s Disease and 2021’s King’s Disease II made it into the Top 10 as well. The first two installments of the Hit-Boy-produced LPs earned Nas back-to-back Best Rap Album nominations at the Grammy Awards. King’s Disease won Best Rap Album in 2021.

Nas landed at the top of the Billboard 200 chart on six occasions. It Was Written was his first chart-topper in 1996. He had the most popular album in America with 1999’s I Am…, 2006’s Hip Hop Is Dead, 2008’s Untitled, and 2012’s Life Is Good. The Queens native also hit the Billboard 200’s pinnacle with The Firm: The Album by Hip Hop supergroup The Firm.

Lil Yachty Responds To Backlash For Saying He Wants To Be Taken More Seriously Than A Rapper

Let’s Start Here by Lil Yachty shocked many listeners expecting to hear the Georgian tap back into his Trap-Pop roots. Instead, Yachty unveiled a more Psychedelic Rock sound for his latest body of work.

Lil Yachty teased that Let’s Start Here would be a “non-rap album” back in January 2022. The 25-year-old Quality Control recording artist later explained why he decided to move away from his traditional approach for the new studio LP.

“I think I created it because I wanted to be taken seriously as an artist,” said Yachty at a listening event in January. “Not just some SoundCloud rapper, not some mumble rapper, not some guy that just made one hit.”

Lil Boat continued, “I wanted to be taken seriously because music is everything to me, and I respect all walks of music. Not just rap and Hip Hop, but everything. I wanted to make something that showed the world just how great it was to me.”

Lil Yachty Says He’s Past Trying To Prove He’s A Rapper

Some Hip Hop fans took exception to Lil Yachty’s comments by suggesting the “Broccoli” hitmaker disrespected the genre that made him rich and famous. Yachty addressed that criticism during an interview with the Rap Radar podcast.

“I wanna talk about that for a second because there was this conversation on the internet after I said that. And people took it as me trying to say like, ‘Oh, I hate when rappers say I wanna be taken seriously as an artist.’ As if I was saying that you’re not serious if you’re a rapper. That’s not what I meant,” explained Yachty.

He continued, “I mean, specifically, I do more than rap. For a long time in my career, I wanted to be taken seriously as a rapper. And I said that. And I would go and try and do radio interviews, freestyles, or whatever. Just because I wanted that. I did Michigan Boy Boat, I did things. That’s when I was trying to prove I’m a rapper. But I’m past that. Now, I’m proving I’m an artist.”

Let’s Start Here debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart by earning 36,000 first-week units. The 14-track effort also peaked at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, and Top Alternative Albums charts.

Iggy Azalea Avoids Answering A Question About Nicki Minaj Versus Cardi B

Iggy Azalea once dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX and “Problem” with Ariana Grande. While Azalea scored hits with those Pop singers, she never collaborated with fellow chart-topping Hip Hop stars Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

In addition, Iggy Azalea avoided getting caught up in the years-long Nicki versus Cardi beef. Her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen included the Australian choosing to stay out of the feud that has stans on social media constantly attacking each other.

Andy Cohen asked Azalea who was the better rapper between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B during the late-night talk show’s “Truth or Touch Up!” segment. It became clear The New Classic album creator did not want to answer the question.

“Oh god. Why would you do this to me!?” responded Iggy Azalea. “I just don’t want to start drama. I have an opinion.” The 32-year-old former T.I. protégé did reply to a question about odd requests from her OnlyFans subscribers.

The Cardi B/Nicki Minaj hostility came to a head during a 2018 NYC Fashion Week after-party. Cardi threw a shoe at her “MotorSport” collaborator at the event. Since then, both women have taken shots at the other on social media and in songs. Their most recent public clash happened in October 2022.

Iggy Azalea had her own rumored bad blood with Nicki Minaj as well. Minaj’s 2014 BET Awards acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist included her saying, “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.”

Many viewers took that statement by Nicki Minaj as shade towards her fellow nominee because Iggy Azalea faced accusations of using a ghostwriter at the time. Minaj later downplayed she directed those shots at Azalea. Last year, Iggy claimed to never have had any issues with the Queens-bred emcee.

‘Bel-Air’ Star Adrian Holmes Addresses Whether Will Smith’s Oscar Slap Impacted The Show

There are still a lot of questions surrounding the now-infamous moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on the 2022 Academy Awards stage. For example, would the incident affect the production of the Bel-Air series?

Bel-Air is Peacock’s reimagined dramatic version of the classic 1990s-era The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom. Will Smith starred in The Fresh Prince, and the Oscar winner serves as an executive producer for the modern-day edition.

Deadline spoke to Adrian Holmes, the actor who plays Philip Banks on Bel-Air, about the show’s second season which premiered today (February 23). The U.K.-born, Canada-raised Hollywood veteran also addressed the Oscar Slap.

“Well, there was that thought, but like I said, we have created a lane of our own. We’ve got a fan base that is very loyal. I wasn’t as worried about it, as a lot of people thought. Yeah, I wasn’t too worried about it, to be honest,” said Adrian Holmes.

He added, “People tap in and they get to be entertained, but they also learn something. I think that’s the most important part of the story, just being a part of a positive narrative. It’s what the world needs right now. We live in such a sad, dark world, you know? We need as much light as we possibly can. I think our show is that light.”

Adrian Holmes also confirmed that Will Smith did not visit the set during the filming of the second season. While the former Fresh Prince stayed away from principal photography, Jabari Banks did return as Smith’s fictional namesake.

The main Bel-Air cast also features Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks, Jordan L. Jones as Jazz, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey Thompson, and Simone Joy Jones as Lisa.

In addition, the Bel-Air team recruited several high-profile entertainers for season 2. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress Tatyana Ali will play an English literature teacher. Plus, Hip Hop recording artist Saweetie will appear as herself.

Bel-Air earned three nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, at the 54th NAACP Image Awards on February 25. Adrian Holmes scored a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Jabari Banks also made it into the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series category.

T.I. Claims Story About Snitching On His Deceased Cousin Was Sarcasm

Earlier this week, an online feud between T.I. and Boosie Badazz exploded over accusations of snitching. T.I. once again addressed supposedly admitting to pinning a drug charge on his deceased cousin.

“We caught those gun cases, Toot died. My lawyer said, ‘Well, you know, I could make everything go away if it was Toot’s,” said T.I. during a 2020 episode of his expediTIously podcast.

Tip continued, “After he had passed, I had a talk with him. Toot said, ‘I’ll take all the charges you got. If you can walk away free and put it on me, g###### right. ‘Cause I’ll be damned if they gonna come and m############ extradite me from here.'”

Boosie: If You Cooperate With Law Enforcement You’re A Rat

Tip’s comments did not sit well with Boosie. The Baton Rouge-raised rhymer insisted T.I. is a “f###### rat” if the story was true. Boosie even announced he will no longer release his upcoming joint project with the Atlanta native.

“I don’t spare no m############ body. Because if you’re doing anything wrong, you’re doing anything criminal, and you cooperate with law enforcement to get you out of trouble, that means you’re cooperating. That means you’re a rat,” expressed Boosie.

“But I’ma tell you like this. When I saw that, I think, ‘T.I.’s f###### lying.’ I think he went up there and just got to f###### talking,” Boosie added. “You think something happens at 17, 18 years old, you’re gonna hold – as vocal as he is – that in all [this] damn time?! All this damn time for 20-some years, you’re gonna hold that in?! And it finally came out?!”

T.I. Tells TNN The Toot Story Was Not Real

Tip responded to Boosie Badazz in a lengthy Instagram post which included the Paperwork album creator taking issue with Boosie speaking on the matter on the internet and not privately. During a new interview, he also clarified his initial comments about using his deceased relative to avoid prison.

“It came from a conversation that my partner and I were having. That conversation was, ‘Hey bro, if me and you catch a case together and I die before you, it’s mine.’ He was like, ‘Nah, I can’t do that.’ [I said,] ‘Yes you can. It’s mine. Why can’t you? I don’t understand it,'” T.I. told Trap News Networx.

“So off of that conversation, I created a set of circumstances. And I thought that the embellishment was clear when I said I talked to my cousin and he told me,” said Tip. “Humor, sarcasm, and satire – it escaped them.

Consequence Shares ‘Disappointed,’ Slams Lack Of Support For Kanye West In New Video

Consequence is airing out his grievances with his G.O.O.D. Music associates in a new song, “Disappointed,” defending Kanye West, despite his recent Anti-Black and antisemitic remarks.

On Wednesday (Feb. 22), Consequence announced the single on social media in a lengthy post in which he also explained his support of Ye, suggesting that others abandoned the G.O.O.D. Music founder when he needed them most.

“My outlook is this,” he stated. “It’s easy to be self serving and ask someone for HELP, who’s in a position of Power to change your life’s trajectory. But, what happens when the tables turn and that person needs you.”

He also highlighted lyrics from the new single, stating, “The whole Label ran/Instead of having YE’s back.” Another line reads, “I guess crabs in a barrel/Is a curse from being Black.”

According to Consequence, “If you were only around for the G.O.O.D. times then you were never on OUR team to begin with.” He declared, “I’m Disappointed In ALOT of N#####!!!” before teasing his upcoming LP. Check out a clip in the post below and watch the video at the end of the page.

As Cons stated, he’s been “vocal” about the rift with Pusha T, who announced he was resigning as G.O.O.D. Music president last year as brands began severing ties with Kanye West.

During an interview with The Art of Dialogue last December, Consequence lashed out at Pusha.

“The whole Good Music president s###? That’s cap. There was no G.O.O.D. Music president s###, n####. That s### is cap. It ain’t been that s### for years. When n#### kickin’ some resignation s###, there ain’t no resignation s###. Just say you mad about the Donda 3 party in Chicago when he ain’t let you on stage. Say that.”

While Cons believes Kanye West and Pusha T could settle their differences, he remains disappointed.

“They may communicate and find resolve to that situation,” he says. “But as it stands, I don’t f### with that ‘cause I expect more out of Pusha T, honestly. This n#### base everything he stand for on the streets. I ain’t saying you gotta support it or not. If Pusha T wins a Grammy, Ye did half the album. So what? You’re not going to thank him? Or you gonna thank him and act like you ain’t say you resigned?”

Lil Yachty Reflects On His Relationship With Drake: “I Never Had Many Rap Friends”

Lil Yachty has opened up about his relationship with Drake, praising Drizzy for being a true friend to him.

The Let’s Start Here album creator also reflected on working with Drake on Her Loss, the Toronto native’s joint album with 21 Savage. During a new interview on Rap Radar, Elliott Wilson labeled Yachty “the genius behind” the No.1 project and asked him how he came to feature so heavily.

“I, for a very long time, wanted to do anything involving music with [Drake],” Lil Yachty explained. “So I’ve been telling him for the last, like, I don’t know how many years, like, ‘Bro…can I even just be in the room? I just wanna soak it up and see how you do it. I wanna see you rap, I wanna anything, you know?’ For real.”

Lil Boat holds his friend in the highest esteem, declaring him the G.O.A.T. “I just feel like he’s—to my opinion…the greatest rapper ever. And that’s my personal opinion. I ain’t arguing with nobody or their mama,” he added.

The admiration is mutual. Lil Yachty has writing and production credits on multiple Her Loss cuts. Tracks including “Major Distribution,” “Privileged Rappers,” “Circo Loco,” and “Jumbrotron S### Poppin,” were Yachty assisted.

“He always loved my beat selection,” the Georgia native revealed. “He was one of the first people to post one of my albums and just be like, ‘Man, your beat selections are so crazy.’ And that’s crazy to hear from him, especially during times when nobody was really f#####’ with me. Like, I never had many rap friends. I feel like a lot of the rap people I even hung around was because I was probably [in Quality Control]. … I probably would never met any of those people if I wasn’t QC.”

Drake Shows Love To Lil Yachty

Meanwhile, last year Drake gave Yachty his flowers for all of his Her Loss contributions, which included the unique cover art.

“WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP,” Drake wrote on Instagram Stories last November. “I LOVE YA KID THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME YOUR INCREDIBLE TALENT AND YOUR ADLIB GAME.”

Did 50 Cent Sue The Shade Room?

UPDATE:

The news section is so on-point. I did not even see, but they actually settled the situation out of court. Read up on it in the link below.

EXCLUSIVE: 50 Cent Settles Penis Enhancement Lawsuit With The Shade Room

The old stuff is below.

I saw this and was like “OH.”

I do not think I have ever seen such language from The Shade Room ever. We all know 50 Cent is not to be played with! He’s got a team of hitters on just about every level. If you fk around, you will, in fact, find out. That said the language on a previous post probably suggested strongly or stated explicitly that 50 Cent had some sort of enhancement in the p##### area. This simply did not happen and we have reported on it rather extensively.

READ ALSO: 50 Cent Refuses To Let Go Of Penis Lawsuit; Says His Reputation Irreparably Harmed By Sexually Charged Comments

Anyway, here is what it said:

The Shade Room previously published an article about penis enhancements on its website and social media accounts. The article and links to the article included a picture of Curtis J. Jackson, Ill p/k/a 50 Cent juxtaposed with an image of a faceless male obtaining a penile enhancement procedure, with a euphemistic eggplant emoji covering the exposed groin area. The Shade Room has since deleted that article and social media posts and wants to make it abundantly clear that 50 Cent did not have penis enhancement surgery or any other procedure to augment his genitals and any implication to the contrary is false.

Hopefully, all parties work it out. I know The Shade Room is a black-owned business and 50 Cent deserves respect. This could have been a warning and they needed to do a straight up retraction to prevent it from going the legal route.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Master P Brings Receipts Over Former Artists’ Claims He Owes Them Money

Master P has had enough of his former associates slandering his reputation.

The No Limit Records founder initially addressed those airing out their grievances during a recent interview, insisting he treats his artists well and calling for a statute of limitations on former associates complaining about him.

However, he doubled down in a pair of new Instagram posts, denying Fat Trel and Jess Hilarious’ claims that he owes them money.

“I wish @fat_gleesh_ the best. But he is owed nothing from me or my company,” he began, referring to Fat Trel’s assertion that he and Atlanta rapper Alley Boy are owed money for an album Master P allegedly released without their knowledge.

“The only business we ever did was put out a free mixtape on Livemixtapes.com in 2013 which is available to download for free today. We also put it on iTunes, which it didn’t sale because you could get it free from Livemixtapes. I covered the entire production costs, paid for flights, an apartment and rental cars that were trashed and damaged.”

Master P Says: “I Have The Receipts To Prove It”

Furthermore, Master P insisted, “I’m the only one that made a financial investment in this project and took a loss.” He also claimed, “I have receipts to prove it. Everyone that was around us at that time knows the truth.”

To Alley Boy, Master P said their record “didn’t Pop back then because we didn’t have a Hit Record.” He claimed he also lost money on investing in the project and hasn’t been able to recoup from streaming. “That’s one of the reasons why I got out of the music industry and into the product game. Product don’t talk back,” he added.

The New Limit CEO also addressed Jess Hilarious. She recently said “I’m still owed some bread” for the I Got the Hook-Up 2 skit. Master P said he loves the comedian but she ” got paid what she was owed.” In a separate post, he stated he had “the copy of the check that was cashed and paid, but if she tryna squeeze me for another 10k she got that.”

Are Nelly And Ashanti Getting Back Together?

I knew this was going to happen! But I thought the rumors of “sponsors” were so prevalent. Recently, the internet has been stalking Nelly and Ashanti’s moves. And those sleuths have determined that they just might be back together again.

Let’s go back – back into time. Almost 20 years ago, these two dated. Irv Gotti was allegedly abusing his duties as a label head and Ashanti found love with Nelly. And, well, they dated for quite some time – like 11 years. Last year they performed “Body on Me” and there seemed to be real chemistry. Nelly was damn near slobbering! And Ashanti is looking better now than she was when they dated in the early 2000’s. That said, it is looking like they are seeing each other. By the way, Ashanti is now 42 and Nelly is 48. They are getting older!

They look great though!

Here’s what the internet has determined!

Ashanti has been wearing Nelly’s chain allegedly:

Ashanti’s DJ and other random people are in the back there. I would not have known it had they not said something.

Apparently, they have both been seen in Las Vegas at the same time. These Sherlocks have determined, because of this, they are dating. But are they? I am not so sure they are not playing with the affections of those that want to see them together.

Anyway, I was always told that Ashanti had a very low-key relationship with a very rich man. And, she was taken care of. On another note, Nelly apparently cheated on her so there’s a contingency that does not want them together because he allegedly cheated. Need go back, they say! But, what if a man grows up and becomes a better person? What if they are in a different place than they were 20 years ago? Think about it and tell me what you believe in the comments!

Quavo Seemingly Confirms Future Of Migos In New Takeoff Tribute Single: Watch

Quavo continues to honor Takeoff, returning with another tribute to the late rapper.

Following on from his emotional tribute single “Without You,” released last month, the Atlanta rapper shared a new upbeat song, celebrating his late nephew Takeoff’s “Greatness.”

Hours before the release, Quavo teased the song by posting the cover art on social media. The image features Quavo sitting on the floor surrounded by platinum plaques.

“Countdown to Greatness,” he wrote in the caption. “#ForTake🚀.”

Quavo reflects on his loss in the new song, rapping that he would “give away all this s### just to see my dawg just one more time.”

He also seemingly confirms the end of the Migos. “So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone / Young n####, it can’t come back, damn,” he raps. However, despite the tension between Quavo and Offset, he also honors the group’s legacy, adding, “Never forget that the Migos amazing.” Check out the video below.

The single arrives nearly four months after Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston Bowling Alley.

Quavo’s second dedication to Takeoff follows his tribute during the Grammys “In Memoriam” segment. The two remaining Migos reportedly clashed at the awards show over Quavo’s refusal to let Offset participate in the tribute.

However, Offset denied the reports. “What tf look like fighting my brother yal n##### is crazy,” he wrote via Twitter earlier this month.

Will Dr. Umar’s School Be Open Soon?

Umar Rashad Ibn Abdullah-Johnson!

You might know him at Dr. Umar. That’s my dude! No matter what you say, my dude’s on point. He has been working steadfastly to open a school in Wilmington, DE. Much has been made over the FDMG ACADEMY. The Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy has been going on and on for a very long time, but there seems to be good news. Recently, there has been considerable slander on the good Dr. Umar. Some people, sadly those in Delaware have been peddling propaganda suggesting that he was living within the school. Well, my sources tell me that he’s simply working really hard to open the school this year.

People have wonder what is taking so long. I was told that the school, which was formerly called The Maurice J. Moyer Academy, was essentially gutted. The “fiends” and whatnot stole anything that could be stolen, such as copper pipes and plumbing. Stuff like that had to be re-bought and re-installed. And that does not mention the remodeling. From what I understand, the community there in Wilmington does actually respect Dr. Umar’s efforts and have not messed with things since he took over.

Anyway, I am hearing that soon he’s going to be opening things up so that people can see the fruits of his efforts. And he’s been lifting this weight heavy and largely by himself. The Breakfast Club interview a few years ago explained much of the issue at that time. He added that HVAC (air conditioning) and electric work were other areas.

The rumored goal is it opening things up this spring sometime and open The Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey Academy in the fall for boys.

He’s watching you!

Young Thug Co-Defendant Seeks Mistrial Over YSL Woody Interrogation Leak

Gina Bernard, an attorney representing Young Thug’s co-defendant Jayden Myrick, filed a motion for a mistrial in the YSL RICO case.

According to multiple reports, Bernard sought a mistrial after an interrogation video from the case leaked online. The footage showed YSL Woody (a.k.a. Kenneth Copeland) talking to detectives.

“While said evidence may not directly implicate my client, it along with all of the publicity and courtroom incidents since the start of this trial … make it impossible for him to receive a fair trial, as well as a jury that is honestly and truly fair and impartial,” Bernand wrote, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Bernard’s client is already serving life in prison. Myrick was convicted of murder in the 2018 death of Christian Broder.

Young Thug, Myrick and 12 others await trial in the YSL RICO case. Prosecutors asked Judge Ural Glanville to investigate the leak of the YSL Woody interrogation video.

“The state has absolutely no interest in leaking this video to members of the public as its dissemination serves only to intimidate and harass witnesses called upon by the state to testify in a very serious and high-profile case,” prosecutors wrote.

Jury selection is ongoing in Young Thug’s trial. More prospective jurors will appear in court in March, April and May.

EXCLUSIVE: Kanye West Finally Finds A Lawyer Willing To Represent Him

Kanye West’s legal woes continue to haunt him, but at least he has an attorney finally willing to represent him. According to court docs obtained by AllHipHop, Oregon-based attorney Peter Hawke has signed on to continue West’s fight against Ultra Music Publishing. The required paperwork was filed on Tuesday (February 21) with the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

West has struggled to retain an attorney since his anti-Semitic tirade last October. He’d originally hired New York City law firm Greenberg Traurig, but their relationship quickly went south. In early February, the firm was able to serve West with the necessary docs needed to withdraw counsel—after months of trying.

Greenberg Traurig went to extreme lengths to try to locate West. Last month, they asked a judge if they could run an ad in several Los Angeles newspapers requesting his attention. Soon after, United States District Judge Analisa Torres found Greenberg Traurig failed to make “diligent efforts” to locate him. Consequently, Torres denied Greenberg Traurig’s request, instead suggesting they hire a private investigator to determine West’s whereabouts.

Torres granted Greenberg Traurig’s motion to withdraw as West’s counsel on November 30, 2022. The firm was originally representing Kanye West in his legal battle against Ultra International Music Publishing. Now, it’s up to Hawke at Angeli Law Group LLC. in Portland.
