YNW Melly Not Off The Hook: Prosecutors Will Retry Him For Murder

The Broward County State Attorney’s Office confirmed its plans to retry YNW Melly for murder. According to NBC Miami, a status hearing is scheduled for Friday (July 28).

Jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the double murder trial. The jury reported a deadlock several times during deliberations. Judge John Murphy declared a mistrial on Saturday (July 22).

Prosecutors accuse YNW Melly of killing his friends YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser in 2018. But the prosecution failed to convince enough jurors of the rapper’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was arrested for murder in 2019. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.

Prosecutors claim YNW Melly shot YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser while all three men were inside the same vehicle. YNW Bortlen, an alleged accomplice in the murder, will be tried separately in October.

YNW Melly’s first trial began in June. His manager 100K Track was optimistic after it ended in a mistrial.

“It’s a second chance at life, a second chance at a better defense, so I’m excited,” he said. “I really feel like Melly’s coming home. I’ve felt like that, but this just confirmed it.”

The 24-year-old rapper has remained in jail since his 2019 arrest. No date has been announced for his retrial.

Wiz Khalifa Says Pooh Shiesty Clones Tried To Run Up On His Crib—Fans Blame YG

Wiz Khalifa claims Pooh Shiesty mask-donning assailants attempted to break into Wizzlemania Manor and his fans are already pointing the finger—at YG.

According to reports, the would-be burglars were either bold or high enough to attempt the heist during broad daylight. Apparently, the Taylor Gang security team was functioning at a high clip at the time of the failed siege and nearly beat the intruders “Black and Yellow” while forcing their retreat. It appears Khalifa tightened up his surveillance team after he was indeed a “Lick” that was “Hit” in 2018 when some baby Shiesty broke into his home.

Nevertheless, in a short jab-like strike of a tweet, Khalifa remarked on the incident via X (formerly known as Twitter) in a fluent and articulate manner, of course. “3 n####s wit Pooh shiesty masks tried to run in my crib while i was on stage,” Khalifa wrote.

While it appears LAPD doesn’t have any suspects identified yet for the attempted robbery, social media fan detectives believe YG could somehow be involved. Their prime piece of evidence you ask? Introducing exhibit A: YG’s scam rap anthem, “How To Rob.”

While it’s a reach that YG was specifically speaking about Wiz Khalifa when he dropped the record last year, he did definitely say, “He gone show his whereabouts on accident/He be high.” Social media rests its case.

Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa was in Michigan during the incident as part of the High School Reunion Tour—which might’ve been a good thing for them Shiesty Boyz considering Wizzle Man has been going crazy in the gym. Nah for real, ever since that PFL (Professional Fight League) deal went through and he popped up on the Joe Rogan podcast, Khalifa has been training like he’s trying to get it “Back In Blood.”

And truth be told, if Wiz Khalifa kicks it in the crib anything like he does at the gym, the robbers probably would’ve voluntarily made their exit upon their uncomfortable confrontation. Presumably, because bro is in his Juijitsu short-shorts or literally kicking the crap out of them.

So the moral of the story is it pays in unending dividends to be comfortable with your masculinity—and trained in mixed martial arts. So Kudos Khalifa.

Snoop Dogg Axes ‘Doggystyle’ Anniversary Concert In Solidarity With Actors, Writers Strike

Snoop Dogg outright canceled his Doggystyle anniversary concert. The veteran rapper announced his decision on Tuesday (July 25), citing his support for Hollywood actors and writers on strike.

“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop Dogg explained via Instagram. “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work.”

Snoop Dogg was originally scheduled to perform two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in June. He rescheduled the concerts for October in an act of solidarity with the WGA writers’ strike, which began in May.

SAG-AFTRA, which represents actors, joined the strike in July. Actors and writers both reached an impasse in their negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Snoop Dogg previously supported the strike and fairer distribution of money while speaking at the Milken Institute in May. He raised similar concerns as the actors and writers regarding streaming’s effect on pay in the music industry.

Boosie Badazz Agrees With Hot Take; Says South Ranks Him Above Jay-Z

Boosie Badazz considered himself to be of higher stature than Jay-Z, at least in the South. The Baton Rouge native co-signed a social media user’s opinion, which said Southerners rank Boosie above Hov on lists of the best rappers of all time.

“I F### WITH JIGGA BUT THIS FACTS!” Boosie wrote on Instagram. “STREET N##### N DA SOUTH DONT PUT HOV OVER BADAZZ.”

Boosie never shied away from championing himself throughout his career. Earlier this year, he dropped an album titled Best Album Of 2023.

The 40-year-old rapper’s opinions often garnered more attention than his music in recent years. He remained an outspoken critic of snitching, calling out rappers such as Gunna and Ralo.

Last week, Boosie criticized Kodak Black for working with Tekashi 6ix9ine. The outspoken artist believed Kodak Black abandoned morals and principles for money.

Boosie is currently out on bail after catching a gun charge in San Diego. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm in May.

The state gun case was dismissed in June, but federal agents arrested Boosie on the same charge once the state dropped its case. Prosecutors tried to convince a judge to keep him in jail on the federal charge, but he was released on bail in June.

Drake’s 36G Bra-Throwing Fan Gets Playboy Offer

The woman who tossed her massive bra up on stage during a recent Drake concert might have launched a new career. According to TMZ, Veronica Correia received a lucrative offer to flash her size 36G breasts for money with Playboy.

The house that Hugh Hefner built has apparently offered the 21-year-old a contract in the most 21st-century way possible–on social media. Unlike bunnies in the past, Correia wouldn’t appear on the cover of the magazine but in an OnlyFans style platform.

Correia attended the Barclay Center show, where Drake paused the show to comment on the bra size.

Another incident happened, where a fan had thrown a vape pen at him, narrowly missing Drake. The Canadian superstar, noticeably confused, stopped what he was doing and shamed the fan for the careless act.

Don’t think this young lady is just any “bra-throwing lass” one might find at any Drake concert. She’s actually a businesswoman.

Correia owns a coffee shop called Café La La in Cumberland, Rhode Island. After all this attention, prompted by her crush, she’ thinking about renaming one of the signature coffees after the experience: Drizzle Drizzle or 36G.

NFL Player Aaron Hernandez’s Brother Arrested For Alleged Plot To Shoot Up Two Colleges

Dennis “D.J.” Hernandez has reportedly been apprehended by authorities in connection with a planned school shooting targeting UConn and Brown University.

According to TMZ, the Bristol Police Department has outlined their theory regarding his involvement in official reports, categorizing him as “a danger to society.” Law enforcement officials revealed they possess testimonies from witnesses who claim Hernandez, the sibling of deceased NFL football player Aaron Hernandez, sent them unsettling text messages, indicating something wasn’t right.

One message reportedly stated, “We’re taking lives if s### isn’t paid up. It’s been years in planning just taking notes, names and locations. They talked their way into this and it’s almost point game.”

Witnesses also noted that Hernandez had been displaying peculiar behavior in their presence. On July 7, a woman who identified herself as Hernandez’s former girlfriend, asserted he used her vehicle to travel to Brown University and UConn, where he allegedly entered multiple classrooms and buildings. Others claimed he scoped out the two campuses. Further raising concerns were disturbing posts on Hernandez’s social media accounts.

On July 19, he wrote, “Will I kill? Absolutely, I’ve warned my enemies so pay up front.” On the same day, the police confronted Hernandez at a residence where he was staying, armed with all the evidence they had gathered. During the encounter, he allegedly informed them that he was armed and threatened to harm them if they approached.

Witnesses report he “began advancing toward the police with his hands outstretched to his side” and repeatedly shouted, “Shoot me,” completely ignoring the officers’ commands. After a period of confrontation, the police managed to detain Hernandez and subsequently transported him to a local hospital.

Following his release, he was taken into custody by the BPD on charges of threatening and breach of peace. A bail amount of $250,000 has been set, and a court hearing is scheduled for next week.

He was arrested twice this year—one time in March and the second time in early July, as reported by Yahoo Sports. The last time was for throwing a brick with a note at the ESPN campus in Bristol.

The note said: “To all media outlets, It’s about time you all realeyes the affect media has on all family members. Since you’re a world wide leader maybe you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up! Yours truly, Dennis J. Hernandez.”

LeBron James‘ son, Bronny, had a medical emergency during a basketball workout that had the young athlete in the ICU.

A spokesperson representing the James family informed TMZ Sports that Bronny James experienced a cardiac arrest while practicing yesterday. Fortunately, medical personnel promptly attended to him and transported him to the hospital.

He is currently in stable condition and has been moved out of the intensive care unit. The family has requested privacy during this challenging time and will share further updates with the media when available.

“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information,” a statement read.  “LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

According to sources with direct knowledge, a 911 call was placed at 9:26 AM on Monday from USC’s Galen Center, the venue where the team practices and plays. Bronny, who was unconscious at the time, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance under Code 3 conditions, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

Bronny James, a promising talent in basketball, had recently committed to the USC Trojans and is highly anticipated to join the NBA in the future.

He made significant strides in his high school career, earning the distinction of being a McDonald’s All-American during his senior season at Sierra Canyon.

In the past, LeBron James has expressed his desire to one day share the court with his son in the NBA. Bronny has already displayed his skills by participating in the slam dunk competition at a high school showcase in March, following in his father’s footsteps.

During his senior season, he averaged an impressive 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Cardi B Gets Britney Spear’s Approval For “Put It On Da Floor Again” Name-Drop

Latto recruited Cardi B for an official remix of her “Put It on da Floor” single, the aptly titled “Put It On Da Floor Again.” The track included a shoutout to Britney Spears.

“N###a, cry for what?” Cardi B raps. “B####, these are Denim Tears/I’m sexy dancing in the house, I feel like Britney Spears.”

Spears would regularly upload videos to her currently-deactivated Instagram account of herself dancing at home. On Monday evening (July 24), the “Toxic” singer went to Twitter to share her latest at-home video. The clip featured “Put It On Da Floor Again” as its musical backdrop. Spears, her partner, Sam Asghari, and their dogs pose in front of the camera to Cardi B’s part of the song.

Cardi B: “I’m A Very Big Britney Spears Fan”

“Put It On Da Floor Again” reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Latto earned her second Top 20 hit after 2021’s “Big Energy” single. Cardi B scored her 20th entry in the Top 20 with the collaboration.

Britney Spears dominated the music industry during the peak of her career. The former Mickey Mouse Club star scored six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart between 1999 and 2011.

She also has 14 Top 10 records on the Hot 100 in her discography, including her chart-topping hit “Baby One More Time” from 1998. Spears recently teamed up with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am for “Mind Your Business.”

“I’m a very big Britney Spears fan,” Cardi B told Entertainment Tonight in 2019. When asked about Spears checking herself into a facility at the time to deal with stress, the native New Yorker also added, “I love you and I totally understand.”

Akademiks Blasts Jess Hilarious: “I Thought She Was Trans This Whole Time”

Comedian Jess Hilarious is best known for her appearances on Wild ‘n Out and making fun of celebrities in social media videos. The Baltimore native is currently making news for her opinion on transgender women. And now, fellow internet personality Akademiks has jumped into the situation, too.

Jess Hilarious took issue with a trans TikToker’s comments about “cis women” not owning periods and womanhood. The conversation then became a debate topic online. Hilarious received both praise and condemnation for her rant on the subject.

“Who the f### is gonna stand up for us?” she said in an Instagram video. “And [by] us – I mean women, real women, biological women. Women who were born with all the parts that you guys wish that you were.”

She continued, “When does the delusion stop? What’s the difference between you and someone who has been diagnosed to be mentally insane? The only difference is you don’t have a straitjacket on. Stop talking out your f###ing a##.” Jess Hilarious went on to say that transgender women will never be real women.

Jess Hilarious Catches Heat From Ts Madison & Akademiks

Jess Hilarious’ comments led to a heated back-and-forth exchange with a well-known transgender television personality. RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ts Madison suggested Hilarious’ anger actually stems from her getting mistaken for being a transgender woman.

Akademiks echoed Ts Madison’s opinion. The Off the Record podcast host inserted himself into the discussion about transgender women and biological women by taking aim at Jess Hilarious’s looks.

“Jess Hilarious going crazy on the trans community?” he tweeted Monday night (July 24). “Wtf… the craziest part of it… I thought she was trans this whole time… this the biggest plot twist this year.”

The controversial blogger also tweeted, “I seen them pics before the makeup and hair… that jawline screamed ‘Jimmy’ not ‘Jessica.’ Plus only Vegeta from Dragon Ball S could get such a perfect M as a hairline and he was a n####.”

Jess Hilarious also faced backlash in the past for her statements about a specific group of people. In 2020, she eventually apologized for saying she felt threatened by four Sikh men wearing turbans on a plane, confusing them for Muslim men, just days after 50 people died from a terrorist attack on two mosques in New Zealand.

Coi Leray Teases New Music Video With Busta Rhymes: “This S### Is A Movie”

It seems Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes have built a solid creative partnership. The two rappers have joined forces on more than one occasion.

In March, Busta Rhymes jumped on the remix to Coi Leray’s “Players” single. The DJ Saige version of the track borrows from Busta Rhymes’s 1997 classic, “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”

Then, Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes shared the stage at the 2023 BET Awards on June 25 in Los Angeles. The East Coast representatives took part in a special star-studded tribute to Bus-A-Bus.

According to Leray, she and Busta will reunite for an upcoming music video. On Monday (July 24), she shared the news on her Instagram page.

“On set for @bustarhymes new video!!” she captioned two photos of herself. “This s### is a MOVVVVVVIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I [always] wanted to be in a Busta video.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CvGIo2qAYLi/?img_index=3

Busta Rhymes is widely considered one of the greatest music video artists of all time. The Brooklyn-bred MC created classic visuals for songs such as “Put Your Hands,” “Dangerous” and “What’s It Gonna Be?!”

BET honored Busta Rhymes with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s BET Awards ceremony, where Coi Leray picked up nominations for Best Female Hip Hop Artist and the BET Her Award.

“Players” peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and collected a platinum plaque from the RIAA. The record lives on Coi Leray’s self-titled sophomore album, Coi.

Latto Becomes First Rapper In 2023 To Score No. 1 Song On Billboard Hot 100

Latto has a lot to celebrate this week. Her “Seven” collaboration with South Korean singer Jung Kook is the most popular song in America.

“Seven” debuted at No. 1 on the most recent Billboard Hot 100, giving both Jung Kook and Latto their first Hot 100 chart-topper as soloists. Jung Kook previously made it to the pinnacle of the chart six times as a member of BTS.

Latto is also the first rapper to reach No. 1 this year. Previously, The Rap Game winner’s best showing on the Hot 100 was a No. 3 placement for her 2021 breakout hit, “Big Energy.”

In addition, Latto becomes just the third female rapper to top the Billboard Global 200 chart. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s collaboration, “WAP,” became the first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 in 2021.

Jung Kook’s “Seven” featuring Latto pulled in 21.9 million streams and more than 153,000 sales in its first week of release. The track also landed at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart and No. 4 on the Streaming Songs chart.

“Seven” had already broken several Spotify records. The Circkut and Andrew Watt-produced single earned the biggest streaming debut for a rapper in the history of Spotify.

Last month, Latto also made it to No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to “Put It On Da Floor Again” featuring Cardi B. The remix of “Put It on da Floor” reached the Top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as well.

Latto linked up with Jay Rock and Anderson .Paak for the “Too Fast (Pull Over)” single, which dropped last week. Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It (Remix)” also featured the RCA recording artist as well as Yung Miami.

Quavo Calls “Cap” Amid Footage Of Migos Rapper Handcuffed During Miami Yacht Incident

Quavo found himself at the center of reports of an alleged armed robbery said to have been carried out on a Miami yacht Sunday evening (July 23).

According to multiple reports, the captain of the luxury vessel was allegedly held up at gunpoint by members of a party who chartered the yacht for the day once it was time to return it. The robbers allegedly demanded their money back before threatening to kill the captain and throw him overboard.

The police report allegedly listed Quavo as being among the party on the yacht, with initial reports stating the “Greatness” hitmaker was detained and handcuffed.

A new video obtained by TMZ purports to show Quavo on board the yacht with his hands restrained behind his back while surrounded by police officers. Despite the troubling situation, he appears in great spirits, smiling and laughing throughout the video.

Quavo took to his Instagram Story shortly after the Miami yacht video began making the rounds online.

“All Eyes On Me But I’m No 2Pac!!!” he wrote while promoting his upcoming Rocket Power album, due August 4.

In another slide, Quavo sent a message via a post featuring an image of a “CAP” “trap card.” The text on the card notes it is to be deployed: “When a cap must be ensued.”

While Quavo did not address the newly surfaced video or the yacht incident, his lawyer denied he was arrested.

The rapper’s attorney Drew Findling told TMZ that Quavo “was NOT mentioned in the police report narrative.” He also claimed Quavo Is not “listed as a witness to any alleged dispute.” According to Findling, “Ultimately, no one on the boat was arrested.”

Offset Taps Jamie Lee Curtis For James Brown Skit Addressing Cheating Rumors

Offset is addressing the infidelity rumors head-on in a hilarious teaser for his upcoming single, poking fun at his recent very public spat with Cardi B.

The powerhouse couple caused shockwaves last month after Offset caused Cardi B of cheating. She swiftly denied the allegations in a Twitter Spaces conversation and made light of the situation.

Rather than running away from the scandal, Offset showed off his sense of humor, and acting skills, in a promotional skit for his new song.

The Georgia-raised rapper shared a video on Instagram Monday (July 24) featuring Jamie Lee Curtis as an inquisitive news anchor. Offset takes on the role of the late James Brown, reenacting the Godfather of Soul’s infamous 1988 CNN interview where he addressed allegations he assaulted his wife.

“Your fans are saying that there’s a lot of drama between you and your beautiful wife, Cardi B,” the Oscar-winning actress began. However, Offset, imitating James Brown, let out a long laugh before attempting to switch the topic. Despite Curtis’ efforts to get him back on track, the rapper continues to derail the conversation in bizarre fashion. “Let’s talk about music,” he replied.

The single is due later this week, July 28. Watch the amusing teaser below.

Although they’ve since put on a loved-up display, Offset accused Cardi B of cheating last month in an Instagram post that was swiftly deleted. “My wife f##### a n#### on me gang yall n####s know how I come,’ he penned June 26.

Hours later, Cardi B told her Twitter Spaces listeners, “Don’t pay attention to that country man,’ refuting the rumors.

Cardi B surprised fans when she joined her husband onstage at Rolling Loud Miami Sunday (July 23). The couple performed some of their most popular collaborations, including “MotorSport” and “Clout.”

Carlee Russell Ditched By “Disgusted” Boyfriend After Admitting Abduction Was A Lie

Carlee Russell’s former boyfriend has ditched the 25-year-old Alabama woman after she admitted to lying about the alleged kidnapping that gripped the nation.

Thomar Latrell Simmons had stood by Russell’s side throughout the alleged ordeal, initially taking to Instagram to celebrate her return. He shared that Russell had been “fighting for her life for 48 hours” and was not “physically or mentally stable” enough to comment on her alleged kidnapper. The post has since been deleted.

However, after Carlee Russell’s lawyer released a statement on her behalf, admitting, “There was no kidnapping,” Simmons revealed he was also “blindsided” by Russell’s actions.

In a statement posted on Instagram Monday night (July 24), Simmons says, “Carlee’s actions created hurt, confusion, and dishonesty. He claims he was only made aware of the “false narrative after coming to the defense of my ex Carlee Russell.”

He continued, “Myself and my family’s nature was to react in love, and genuine concern. We are disgusted from the outcome of this entire situation. I strongly feel exactly like you all. blindsided with Carlee’s actions.”

Simmons said Russell’s “confession,” has brought them “closure,” before thanking all who stood by him.

“The severity in this matter has not been overlooked, and I deeply respect the genuine support shared during this situation. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. With love, Thomar,” Simmons concluded. Read his statement below.

Earlier on Monday, Russell’s attorney, Emery Anthony, released a statement on her behalf and revealed she had apologized to the community. “There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13, 2023,” Anthony stated. “My client did not see a baby on the side of the road.”

He also added that Carlee Russell remained in the Hoover area while she was identified as missing and that she acted alone.

Chicago Rapper King Yella And Family Narrowly Escape Terrifying Shooting Incident

In the world of Hip-Hop, artists are sadly embroiled in controversies and even dangerous situations, all too often. Chicago-based rapper King Yella recently took to Instagram to share a chilling experience that unfolded during a visit to San Bernardino, California. This incident marks the second time in his career that he has narrowly escaped a shooting, raising concerns about his safety and potential rivalries.

King Yella recounted the moment when his life was almost taken and his loved ones were with him with the bullets started flying. The rapper, who is currently living in Las Vegas, said it all occurred during a visit to San Bernardino.

King Yella pointed fingers, claiming that “some Mexicans” were behind the attack. Was a random act of violence or does he have beef with some Brown brothers? This did not go over with the Mexican community. He ended up clarifying his position. I am sure he did not want a new set of problems. King Yella said that he wasn’t generalizing all Mexicans but addressing those deviants responsible for the attack.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt, and his children are safe, but they are all deeply shaken.

Here is he talking about it.

King Yella is probably going to move differently after this. I think he has to. That close call in California has to have him reevaluating his life. And when we are talking about a rapper and his family? This is an easy decision.

Fans and fellow artists are showing support and well-wishes But it only takes one…. Let us hope this is a wake-up call!

Here is the talk on the Mexican issue with No Limit Kyro, Ebk Juvie, GeeBaby071  (like I know these people!) in a new post titled “I LOVE MEXICANS”:

Did A$AP Rocky Sneak-Diss Saweetie While Big-Upping Billionaire Girlfriend Rihanna?

A$AP Rocky had plenty of spicy Rolling Loud “free smoke” stage talk for the likes of A$AP Bari, Ian Connor, Travis Scott—and apparently Saweetie.

Ahead of his quite tumultuous appearance at Rolling Loud Miami, during which he completely denounced former A$AP mob members Bari and Conner while also taunting Scott over Rihanna, Rocky premiered his new single, “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n).”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by A$AP ROCKY (@asaprocky)

The rhythmically lopsided, bass-boosted, AWGE-stamped banger produced by Pharrell Williams, Tyler, The Creator and Rocky himself coincidentally arrived with his new commercial for Beats Studio Pro. But while Rocky was running through the streets of Paris with his diaper woes tending to daddy duties in the Beatsbydre spot, was he also dry snitching on himself?

Of course, A$AP Rocky is spitting that Harlem-harvested, pretty flacko, patent-pending Rizz on the record, but he also seemingly sends a shot at YG’s new bae, Saweetie. The unofficial dig follows bars Rocky carefully dedicated to getting fly under the pretenses of the babushka trend he popularized and, of course, canary diamonds.

“Rag on my head like habibi (Woo, woo)/Canary, my stones look like Tweety (Woo, woo)/Pass on a sweetie, I got me a RiRi (Woo, woo),” Rocky raps unabashedly.

While lyrical citations pinpoint the verbiage “sweetie,” the intonation and delivery on the record seemingly suggest otherwise. Again, Rocky did lay down his New Yorker accent thicker than a Timberland bootprint on the grime-soaked tiles of the subway station on the record. I mean, he really treated his bars like a bagel and slathered an aggressive cream cheese schmear of vernacular on top of his punchlines. There’s definitely room for interpretation.

In a world where name-drop references are a mainstay in rap bangers, it’s not all the way far-fetched to think that maybe Rocky was using Saweetie’s likeness in a line strictly for the purposes of getting off a clever bar. Not to mention the “Icy Girl” rapper is somewhat of a low-hanging fruit when it comes to a target due to the rumors she and Lil Baby became friendly amid her breakup saga with Quavo.

While it’s somewhat of an aimless shot in the air, you decide for yourself whether it’s a hit or miss.

G Herbo Downplays Labeling Him As Drill Rapper: “I Represent Hip-Hop”

G Herbo views himself as more than just a drill rapper. The Chicago-bred artist spoke about his love of Hip-Hop and why he transcends the drill subgenre during an appearance on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast.

“I represent Hip-Hop,” G Herbo said. “I’m a student of Hip-Hop. So, you started small when you talk about drill. New York is Hip-Hop. New York is what I fell in love with … New York is the culture of Hip-Hop. The foundation of Hip-Hop, of rap music. That s### bigger than G Herbo. Drill is cool. That’s alright. Bet, G Herbo’s part of drill. I’m a part of history too though. I’m a part of Hip-Hop.”

G Herbo noted how drill took over the current New York rap scene, but he owed his career to the New York artists who inspired him. He mentioned Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Jay-Z and more as sources of inspiration.

“I got my whole style and my swag from New York,” he said. “It wouldn’t even be a G Herbo if I ain’t look up to n##### from New York. So, when we talk about this drill s###, I ain’t know I was gonna be a part of drill or this s### was gonna be a wave. I was looking up to n##### from New York. And now n##### from New York looking up to me.”

Earlier this month, G Herbo accepted a plea deal in a fraud case. He awaits sentencing with a plea hearing tentatively scheduled for Thursday (July 27).

Ian Connor Demands Answers For A$AP Rocky’s Alleged Diss: “Don’t Put My Name In No Songs”

A$AP Rocky denied dissing stylist Ian Connor after being questioned about it in direct messages on Instagram.

Various social media accounts and websites claimed A$AP Rocky dissed A$AP Bari and Connor at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. A clip of the rapper’s performance clearly showed him taking a shot at A$AP Bari, but the lyric about Connor was muddled.

Connor, who’s been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, did not like his name resurfacing in public discourse. He asked ASAP Rocky to clear the air via Instagram.

“F### this about?” Connor wrote in a message to his longtime associate.

A$AP Rocky responded, “Bout nuttin. u prolly won’t believe me lol, word to tho, can’t blame if u don’t.”

The rapper elaborated after getting pressed for clarification.

“Tell them folks that Flacko,” he wrote. “I look Brazy even if it’s mistaken. I been out here doin’ good staying sucka free to minimal b####### and now I’m all over the place for taking shots at Bari. Instant Karma maybe but I can’t digg that.”

Connor called for artists to stop mentioning his name in songs after the apparent miscommunication.

“Don’t put my name in no songs from this point forward,” he wrote. “Y’all n####s is not Lil Durk and I’m not India.”
