Queen Latifah Refuses To Die On TV Or In Movies

Queen Latifah insists on a “no death clause” when signing up for new projects to ensure her character doesn’t die onscreen.

The actress has carved out a stellar career in Hollywood since rising to fame as a rapper in the late 1980s.

But during a recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Latifah revealed that she has a “no death clause” added to her contracts to ensure she isn’t killed off in a film or TV show, as she often was in early performances.

“You know, what happened at the beginning of my career…my characters died in the movies, and apparently I died my aas off,” she joked. “I was like, ‘Wait a minute, if I keep dying in these movies, I can’t do a sequel.'”

After getting fed up with being viewed as expendable, she then advised her team, “Yo, we got to put a no-death clause in my contracts. Henceforth, we kind of threw it in there.”

She continued: “I was like, ‘No more dying. No more getting shot up by 300 bullets in this car.'”

However, Latifah noted that she isn’t as strict regarding showing her body onscreen and hasn’t followed other stars in pursuing “no nudity” clauses in contracts.

“I was like no, you can show my butt if you need to. Here’s my butt, and it’s live,” the Chicago star smiled.

Latifah, real name Dana Elaine Owens, has most recently been promoting her new Netflix movie, “End of the Road.”

Artist-Influencer Jtti and His Brother Jack Troia Launch Record Company, Collective

The internet has unlocked several opportunities for aspiring music artists to showcase their talent on a global scene. Whether on social media or through a digital streaming platform, fresh talents can find their audience without relying on any label or producer. Artist-Influencer Jtti’s rise to fame is one such example. The music artist is still in his teens but is already taking to the spotlight in the music industry in New York. After a spree of hit singles, Jtti has launched his record label, “Collective,” in partnership with his brother Jack Troia, an entrepreneur and producer.

Jtti discovered his passion for music when he was only 7. However, his life has always been an uneven road with no parental guidance since childhood. Jtti grew up without his biological father and often relocated to different places across NY, imbibing the diverse musical culture. Since 13, Jtti has been fluent in various coding languages like HTML, C#, and C++, but there was always an undying passion for music, as he wanted to make a living out of it.

Growing up in a low-income family, Jtti had no resources to support his career; flowing from this, he adopted the street culture and was arrested a few times until he learned to understand right from wrong. Although he was highly inspired by rap and hip-hop culture, unarguably, starting requires more strength than we often give credit for; sadly, this was not Jtti’s strong suit. When his family got into severe debt, Jtti realized the need of the hour and wanted to pivot his life positively. He tried meditation to discover the power of his mind and attract positive energy through positive thinking.

Things began to work in his favor as Jtti developed a positive attitude toward life. At 15, he gained recognition as a promising artist in the music industry and has since released several hits on the internet. He realized that anything was possible and only a matter of one’s belief and the law of attraction. Jtti has achieved over a million streams across all digital platforms combined, and the numbers keep climbing. He has been featured on multiple billboards at Time Square, NYC. Popular artists like Jadakiss, Ron Suno, etc., have appreciated his incredible work in the music scene.

Now, through his record label, “Collective,” Jtti wants to enlighten and inspire people worldwide. His brother Jack Troia is an entrepreneur and producer who share a similar vision with Jtti regarding the foundation of “Collective.” For Jtti, “Collective” is not just a music record label but a movement to unite the world and spread positivity. In addition, Jtti wants to bring more talent to the music industry through his label.

Jtti is on a mission to positively impact the lives of 100 million people globally with music. His label “Collective” is the means to accomplish this feat. Jtti is looking forward to collaborating with music icons like J. Cole, Lil Baby, Lil Tjay, Bryson Tiller, and many more, but with “Collective” as the prime focus of his career. He wants to motivate fresh talents to secure the place of unique and refined music even in the coming years.

Fat Joe Calls Rihanna “The Black Marilyn Monroe,” Says He Knew About Super Bowl For Months

Fat Joe was one of the first to know about Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show gig.

Last month, National Football League (NFL) executives confirmed that the “Umbrella” hitmaker would headline the halftime music event at the game, which is set to take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12th.

Despite the secrecy in the lead-up to the announcement, Fat Joe – real name Joseph Cartagena – claimed that he has known about the exciting collaboration involving his fellow Roc Nation artist for a while.

“I knew this for months, and I never told nobody. I am Roc Nation… I just kept it to myself!” he exclaimed to Extra. “We’ve been waiting for her… We want to see Rihanna bad! Super Bowl Sunday, that thing is going to be legendary.”

Additionally, Joe described Rihanna as the “Black Marilyn Monroe.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the rapper promoted his upcoming memoir, “The Book of Jose: A Memoir,” which is set to be released on November 15th.

“If it’s funny, laugh, if it makes you cry, cry,” the 52-year-old laughed.

Kanye West Dragged By AOC, John Legend And Sarah Silverman Over Anti-Semetic Posts

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Sarah Silverman have slammed Kanye West for making antisemitic comments.

On Saturday, the Donda rapper made bizarre claims via Twitter of a conspiracy against him after his Instagram account was restricted over other offensive remarks.

Kanye also tweeted that he was going to go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE”, referencing the heightened alert status used by members of the U.S. military.

He added: “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

His justification for his comments echoes the theories of the extremist Black Hebrew Israelite group, who claim Black people are descendants of the Ancient tribe of Israel.

Accordingly, stars with Jewish heritage reacted to Kanye’s words, with Curtis posting a screenshot of the offending tweet and writing: “The holiest day in Judaism was last week. Words matter. A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop.”

Silverman also condemned others for remaining silent on the matter.

“Kanye threatened the Jews yesterday on Twitter and it’s not even trending,” she wrote on Sunday. “Why do mostly only Jews speak up against Jewish hate? The silence is so loud.”

Elsewhere, the “Jesus Walks” musician was condemned by leaders of the Anti-Defamation League, Black-Jewish Entertainment, and the Creative Community for Peace, who accused him of sharing the most “vile and age-old stereotypes” about Jews with millions of followers.

Other famous figures criticizing the 45-year-old included comedian Michael Rapaport, Rob Reiner, Jack Antonoff, John Legend, and Congresswoman AOC.

“There is absolutely no room in this country or world for antisemitism. It is important to see how harmful + dangerous Kanye’s words are – not only to our Jewish brothers, sisters, & siblings, but also to our collective society at large,” AOC said.

Last week, Kanye also endured backlash over comments he made about fellow hip-hop star Lizzo’s weight, and his use of the controversial term “White Lives Matter,” seen by many as a racist attempt to undermine the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lizzo Replies To Kanye’s Claim Her Weight Is Part Of A “Demonic Plot” To Destroy Black People

Lizzo seemingly responds to Kanye West’s comments about her weight

Lizzo appeared to respond to Kanye West’s comments about her weight during a concert over the weekend.

As part of a gig in Toronto, Canada on Friday, the “About Damn Time” singer addressed how her name had been mentioned in interviews with other artists.

“I feel like everybody in America got my m############ name in their m############ mouth for no m############ reason,” the 34-year-old told the crowd at the Scotiabank Arena.

“I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business,” she added before asking the audience: “Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”

The star’s comments came a day after Kanye’s interview with Tucker Carlson, during which he used Lizzo as an example to claim that the media was promoting obesity as a “demonic” plot to perpetuate the “genocide of the Black race.”

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots… on Instagram, they attack her losing weight because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy,” he commented.

In late August, Lizzo also appeared to address comedian Aries Spears referencing her weight in an unrelated interview.

“And now, to the b###### that got something to say about me in the press…” she said while accepting the Video for Good Award at the 2022 MTV VMAs, “You know what, I’m not gonna say nothing.”

Mike Dean Responds To Kanye West Sharing Screenshots Of Private Conversations

Mike Dean is the latest longtime Kanye West collaborator to comment on his social media antics and the producer is not a fan of Ye leaking private conversations.

“Posting DM and texts from folks is the single most thirsty think a person can do,” Mike Dean tweeted on Sunday evening (Oct. 9).

When a fan responded, “Diddy low key threatening ye with every text he sends. You’re taking an L on this post Mike,” the DONDA producer acknowledged that while he was talking about Kanye West, Ye isn’t the only offender.

“I’m not just talking about ye,” he clarified. “A lot of screenshot posts of private convos.”

Kanye West Slapped With Social Media Suspensions

The rapper-turned-designer was suspended from Instagram this weekend after sharing a series of text messages between himself and Diddy, who attempted to arrange a meeting with Ye over his controversial “White Lives Matter” T-shirt.

However, Kanye West’s comment that Jewish people sent Diddy to try to avert a crisis fell afoul of Instagram’s rules.

After the platform restricted his account, Kanye West returned to Twitter after a lengthy absence, where he was also swiftly suspended over more antisemitic posts.

Last week, Diddy posted a video advising fans not to buy or wear the YZY “White Lives Matter” shirts. While acknowledging Kanye West is a “free thinker”, he declared the “Black Lives Matter” movement is not to be played with.

He followed up with an Instagram post on Sunday. Diddy shared an image of himself with his fist raised symbolically in the air.

“On this Sunday, I hope we as a people stop all the Coonin’ and baffoonin! We don’t have the time!” he penned in the caption. “We are under a state of emergency!!! Unapologetically black first! Because they unapologetically think about us last. But remember, I told you the last shall be first and the first shall be last!!! Take that! ✊🏿“

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cje5IHfuPw4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

John Legend, who revealed his friendship with Kanye West collapsed over Ye’s running for office and support of Trump, also seemingly addressed his former friend’s latest antics.

“Weird how all these “free, independent thinkers” always land at the same old anti blackness and anti semitism,” he tweeted late on Sunday night.

On Sunday evening (Oct. 9), Zeus Network dropped the trailer for “Crazy in Love,” a nod to Beyoncé’s 2003 hit. While they gave no date for the launch, they promised the series is coming soon.

Zeus pinned Chill Thompson’s comment revealing, “Y’all will see a whole different side to Blue and Rock’s relationship. The good, the bad, and the ugly. A lot of twists and turns and a few surprises along the way. You won’t be disappointed.”

The on-and-off-again couple has experienced a tumultuous few months, getting into numerous altercations, brawling on the street, and fighting each other’s relatives. After Chrisean’s arrest for assaulting him in August, Blueface claimed he goes to sleep “worried” and “shaking.”

Earlier this month, Chrisean announced she and Blueface had split up following a hotel room fight. “Y’all can have him. ChriseanRock is single,” she tweeted. “Chrisean you are enough 🗣🚶🏽‍♀️”

The reality TV starlet revealed she smashed up the hotel room and had to flee to avoid getting arrested again. She stole her rapper boyfriend’s phone and hopped on Instagram Live to explain what happened.

Despite the “single,” tweets, just hours later Chrisean Rock shared a raunchy bedroom video on her Instagram Stories featuring her and Blueface getting busy in the bedroom.

A week later, she tweeted the heartbroken emoji, following up the next day with, “They gon wish they never played with me😬.”

Then on Friday, footage surfaced of Chrisean getting cozy with another woman in a nightclub. The pair kissed while Chrisean grinded on her new friend.

Lizzo Seemingly Claps Back At Kanye West’s Body-Shaming Comments

Proud body-positivity icon Lizzo can’t understand why she’s the topic of conversation.

The singer and classically trained musician appeared to respond to comments Kanye West made during a recent interview. Lizzo clapped back while onstage for a performance at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Friday (Oct. 7).

“I feel like everybody in America got my m############ name in their m############ mouth for no m############ reason,” Lizzo said to the crowd.

Kanye West Says The Media Are Using Lizzo

While she did not name him directly, Kanye West name-dropped Lizzo during his recent interview with Fox News. He stopped by the outlet following his “White Lives Matter” Paris Fashion controversy and talked about a variety of topics.

Ye told Tucker Carlson the media are encouraging Lizzo not to lose weight, using bots in their “demonic” plot.

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots – that’s a term for – it’s like telemarketer callers, like on Instagram, they attack her for losing weight,” Kanye West began.

He went on to claim bodies like Lizzo’s are not “fashion” and called promoting a message of body positivity “demonic.”

He claimed, “It’s the genocide of the Black race. They want to kill us in any way they can. Planned Parenthood was made by Margaret S#####, a known eugenist, with the KKK.”

Back in August, Lizzo called out the body-shaming haters after comedian Aries Spears also spoke about her appearance. He called her “a woman that’s built like a plate of mashed potatoes,” leading her to tweet that she cried herself to sleep.

Michaela Coel Joined “Black Panther” Cast Because Her Character Is “Queer”

Michaela Coel signed on for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” because her character is “queer.”

In the upcoming superhero film, the “I May Destroy You” actress plays a warrior named Aneka.

Reflecting on joining the cast of the sequel to 2018’s “Black Panther” during an interview for the November 2022 issue of U.S. Vogue, Michaela revealed that she was convinced to take on the part because the character is a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

“That sold me on the role, the fact that my character’s queer. I thought: ‘I like that, I want to show that to Ghana,'” she said, referring to her Ghanaian heritage.
Michaela went on to note that playing Aneka is also a way of protesting anti- LGBTQ+ laws in Africa.

“People say, ‘Oh, it’s fine, it’s just politics.’ But I don’t think it is just politics when it affects how people get to live their daily lives. That’s why it felt important for me to step in and do that role because I know just by my being Ghanaian, Ghanaians will come,” the 35-year-old insisted.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Michaela recalled how the entire “Black Panther” cast was grieving the loss of actor Chadwick Boseman during the production.

The actor, who played the lead character in the first movie, died at the age of 43 in August 2020 following a battle with colon cancer.

“It felt like the entire cast was processing grief,” she continued. “There was a sense that we have to bring this baby home in the name of Chadwick. I thought to myself, ‘I’m rolling up my sleeves and I’m getting in. I don’t need to be front and centre, I’m here to support.'”

Directed by Ryan Coogler, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is set to be released in U.S. cinemas on November 11th.

Kanye West Disses Kim Kardashian’s Fashion Choices

Despite receiving harsh critique on his fashion choices during his recent fashion show in Europe, Kanye West has no problem blasting others and definitely holds nothing back when it comes down to what his ex-wife Kim Kardashian likes to wear.

On a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim talks about a time when Kanye sent her a scathing text about her gear, according to Page Six.

She had just attended the Milan Fashion Week and when the pictures came out, Kanye messaged that he didn’t like that she paired white Prada sunglasses with an all-black latex outfit and that she wore an all-orange, shiny, faux leather oversized jumpsuit.

Ye, who once did an entire wardrobe makeover for his Kim K, told everyone he made her into a fashionista and said he wanted to “quit everything and dedicate his life” to dressing her, texted her, “The orange look made me so mad, would’ve went to jail before I went out in that.”

After sharing the text with her team, he said during the show’s confessional, “While we’re here in Milan, Kanye has the kids at home, and he can’t help himself. We can laugh about things we like or don’t like. No matter how crazy things are sometimes, we’re always going to be family.”

She then said, “I’ll text him back and be like, ‘You know, you have been wearing those boots for a long time, so when you’re ready to change your outfit, let me know and then you can have advice on mine.’”

She might be right. His most recent choices have not only been controversial in the message but not the flyest.

Ryan Coogler Almost Quit Directing After Chadwick Boseman’s Death

Ryan Coogler almost quit directing after his “Black Panther” leading man Chadwick Boseman passed away.

The “Creed” filmmaker had been working on ideas for a sequel to the 2018 Marvel blockbuster when Boseman died in August 2020 aged 43 following a private battle with colon cancer.

Coogler found himself mourning the loss of his star, his close friend and a collaborator who helped shape the “Black Panther” stories.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Coogler admitted the loss made him consider leaving the filmmaking business altogether.

“I was at a point when I was like, ‘I’m walking away from this business,'” he shared. “I didn’t know if I could make another movie period, (let alone) another ‘Black Panther’ movie, because it hurt a lot. I was like, ‘Man, how could I open myself up to feeling like this again?'”

Following Boseman’s death, Coogler spent time rewatching old footage of them together as well as interviews with Boseman talking about his character T’Challa/Black Panther.

“I was poring over a lot of our conversations that we had, towards what I realised was the end of his life,” Coogler explained. “I decided that it made more sense to keep going.”

Coogler ultimately co-wrote and directed the sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which depicts the citizens of the fictional African nation of Wakanda grieving the death of their leader.

Returning stars include Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Winston Duke.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be released in cinemas on November 11th.

Post Malone Gets Daughter’s Initials Tattooed On His Forehead

Post Malone has had his daughter’s initials tattooed on his forehead.

In June, the “Circles” rapper announced that he and his fiancée had welcomed a baby girl.

Post, real name Austin Post, has not yet shared any details about his partner or their first child, but was recently inked with the initials “DDP.”

Taking to Instagram, tattoo artist Chad Rowe revealed that the star made a visit to his studio for the “important” design.

“It’s been a few years since @postmalone and I have been able to link up. So when he was in town, we had to make it happen. It really doesn’t ever feel real,” he wrote alongside a close-up snap of Post’s face that showcased the fresh body art. “And for the trust of such an important tattoo is a huge honour.”

Chad went on to describe the 27-year-old as an “amazing” artist and friend.

“I’m so blessed to not just have a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity, but to have a lifetime of opportunities. And to share it with my favorite people,” he gushed. “To all of the Posty Crew and family, and to all the people who truly make dreams come true, from my entire heart. Thank you, I love you all.”

Post is no stranger to face tattoos. He already has the words “Always Tired” in cursive script under his eyes and the words “Stay Away” above his right eyebrow.

DJ Allure Has Another Gem with Work My Body

“Work My Body” is a hallmark of DJ Allure’s high-energy live performances and is undoubtedly one of his strongest tracks to date. According to Allure, the recent drop is already a favorite of his devoted following. He called the song one of his “most requested” and said he literally couldn’t go a set without someone in the crowd asking for it. Now that he’s able to drop it across streaming platforms, he’s extra hype to share a song that he calls a “fixture” for the foreseeable future and beyond.

Allure went on to call the bassline “undeniably groovy”, which is something we’d have to agree with. Already a staple in the DMV, Allure is spreading his wings internationally and rocking parties from New York to Los Angeles. His output musically is more than impressive for someone who is actively gigging as often as he is. We love the hustle and the music to boot.

This marks DJ Allure’s first release with the independent record label Swaggertown Records. I’m excited to see if he’s going to drop more with the upcoming label and am also amped about DJ Allure as an artist/performer because he really is the total package. Make sure you follow DJ Allure on Instagram and that you’ve got “Work My Body” on repeat!

SZA Taking Her Time To Release Second Album

SZA has no deadline for her delayed second album.

During a backstage Grammys interview in April, SZA told a reporter that she “just recently finished” her album, and it would drop “very much soon,” and in May, she called it “ready to go” and claimed it would release “this summer.”

However, SZA explained why her second album didn’t come out when originally expected.

“I appreciate (my fans’) patience, but constantly trying to people-please and fulfil expectations instead of just thinking about what you need can deter you from your true path. And the next thing you know you’re somebody that you never signed up to be,” she told the outlet. “Even with this album, I just wanna be better than my last project to myself. I wanna be a better writer. I wanna be a better artist, musician… a better thinker.”

She added, “I just wanna do things that make myself proud and interested.” SZA insisted that the album’s delay has been a good thing.

“I live in my ideal situation,” she said. “I don’t have any deadlines, because, at the end of the day, when my s**t comes out, it comes out.”

SZA released her critically-acclaimed debut album Ctrl in 2017.

Zion Marley Surprises His Mother, Lauryn Hill Introduces Grandchildren At One Music Festival

Miss Lauryn Hill took to the stage to give one of the best performances of the One Music Fest.

During her set, she performed a beautifully deconstructed version of “To Zion,” with fans singing in a teary-eyed bliss.

One of the most transparent and gorgeously personal songs on her opus, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” “To Zion” is a personal conversation between a young woman and her newborn son.

At the time, when she first became pregnant, Hill was on the top of the charts and her debut album was the most anticipated in pop music. Questions burned, “How will you be able to thrive with a baby bump or a new baby?”

The song was about her not regretting her decision to have her son with Rohan Marley and is one of the reasons so many children in 2022 are named Zion.

It was not only a personal testimony, “To Zion” became an anthem for young mothers loving their children, even when the world pressed the challenges they may face when bringing new life into the world.

At the end of her One Music Festival performance of the song, her son, Zion came out to surprise her.

After 15 minutes, Zion comes onto the stage and hugs his mother. The two have a deep hug, one that oozed with maternal love, care, and an understanding of years well traveled on a journey together.

Ms. Hill is clearly overwhelmed.

Ms. Hill tells her 25-year-old son to bring out her two grandchildren, Zephaniah and Azaria.

“This is my grandson Zephaniah. This is my granddaughter Azaria. This is my son, Zion,” she said.

She highlighted Zion’s shirt that said, “The Most High over everything” and in approval, she said to her oldest son, “Yes, Zion.”

The moment was topped by her two other children, John Nesta, Micah, and Sarah coming to the stage. Her two children missing from the night were both Selah and Joshua.

Truly, the night invited the guest who attended the festival into the close-knit of her very private family.

According to Fox Sports, a new film is set to drop about one of the American sport’s most prolific athletes, Jackie Robinson.

Entitled “Jackie Robinson: Get to the Bag,” the movie has been labeled as an “Immersive Hip Hop Documentary” that will break down the icon in ways that are far “beyond baseball.”

Brooklyn-based rapper, Skyzoo lends his voice as the narrator of the film. The documentary is set to stream on FS1 on Wednesday, October 12th, and will be executively produced by Two-Time World Series Champion and Six-Time All-Star Mookie Betts, co-produced by Propagate and MLB, and directed by Victorious De Costa.

The almost two-minute trailer explains how Robinson’s story is greater than his breaking the color barrier.

Lyrically, Skyzoo makes magic on the screen. In the promotional clip of the movie, you hear his voice spit facts that history books often leave out, speaking from Robinson’s perspective.

The filmmakers say, “film blends the lyrical narrative of Brooklyn-based rapper Skyzoo and the voices of multiple generations to celebrate Robinson’s extraordinary life and legacy, shedding new light on the Hall of Famer’s journey from the baseball diamond to prominence in corporate America.”

The graphics, combined with vintage images and a baseball jersey embroidered with Robinson’s 42, make the doc seem as beautiful as it is informative.

“Jackie Robinson: Get to the Bag” also includes conversational interviews with Mookie Betts, Candice Wiggins, Alex Rodriguez, Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, Angelika Beener, and Peter Dreier, “along with commentary from current MLB superstars and the newest generation of fans.”

Stacey Abrams Talks About The Importance Of Hip-Hop In The Upcoming Election

Stacey Abrams is lining herself up to make history, hoping to become the first Black woman to become the governor of Georgia.

The Spelman and Yale graduate attended the One Music Fest with the goal to inspire Black and Brown voters to come out and vote in the upcoming Georgia gubernatorial election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Abrams wanted to drive home the point that the clear pathway for her campaign to win is if her supporters come out for early voting, which starts on Sunday, Oct. 17.

When AllHipHop.com asked the candidate to talk about Hip-Hop and this generation’s role in her campaign, she said, “We’ve been proud to work with Lil Baby, with 21 Savage, with Common, and more because I want to meet people where they are.”

“We have a tendency to think that politics is about bringing people to me,” she said. “It’s not. My job is to meet them where they are.”

Adding, “And this is one of the most powerful generations we have ever had. This generation can make sure we have access to real education. That we have access to health care in Georgia. That we can have affordable housing in Georgia.”

“And all they have to do is vote,” the Gen Xer said.

“If this generation votes their power in Georgia, we win everything! If we don’t show up, they are going to make decisions for this generation.”

She then detailed the things this generation believes in, itemizing things like incarceration, undereducation, and underinvestment. She then said, “he takes credit for things other people have done.”

“He has nothing for this generation,” Abrams informed. “He has less opportunity and more incarceration. In my administration, we have more opportunity, freedom, and then a right to protect it.”

Later she left the intimate press setting and came out to speak to the thousands of festival attendees who gathered at the main stage to see Young Jeezy.

A long-time supporter of the festival, she celebrated the founder J. Carter before telling people that they are not going to just be “sole survivors” in the state but going to “thrive,” because they are going to elect someone that sees the needs of the people.

“We don’t need to raise taxes, we are going to raise our expectations,” she said.

She talked about working with the current mayor, Andre Dickens, and local businesspeople, like Jeezy. But then she said they needed to elect a governor who will show up for the community every time.

While reinforcing her commitment to healthcare, education, and affordable housing, she also promised to “decriminalize weed.”

Abrams, a woman born months after the universally recognized birthday of Hip-Hop, is ready to take leadership on day one and is every bit cool as she is brilliant. Check out here dancing with Lil Duval on the side of the stage during the Jeezy show.
