Hope you didn’t buy your flight yet, because the Day N Vegas Festival scheduled to take place from September 2nd-4th at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds has been canceled for 2022.
According to News3lv, festival organizers, Goldenvoice, an AEG Presents subsidiary, could not get the concert together.
The announcement was made on Friday, July 1st, and blamed the cancellation on “a combination of logistics, timing and production issues.”
As a result, the refund process will start immediately.
Those who purchased their tickets will get their money back within two to four weeks.
This year’s program looked like it was going to be hot as artists like Pusha T, 21 Savage, H.E.R. Baby Keem, City Girls, Jhené Aiko, Conway the Machine, and Playboi Carti were booked to take the stage.
Each day, the headliners would have been J. Cole, SZA, and Travis Scott, an artist who was dropped from all the other festivals he had booked for this year after last year’s crowd surge at Astroworld claimed ten lives and injured hundreds more.
Hip-Hop mogul and philanthropist Master P and his son Hercy Miller hosted a private birthday party for the 2-year-old girl, Ocean Robertson, shot in Louisville, Kentucky, back in 2020.
The baby was injured during the gunplay, limiting her family’s desire or ability to though her a party, WAVE 3 reports.
However, the No Limit Soldier stepped up to the plate and blessed the young princess with her first party since being shot that December while sitting in a car with her mother, Fa’Quansa Ancrum, also known as Molly, on West Oak Street.
The baby was spared, but her mom transitioned shortly after the accident.
The celebration was held at the Louisville Zoo on Thursday (June 30th).
“This is a great feeling today, seeing the progress, how she’s constantly fighting and growing and getting better,” said Master P. “It’s just a blessing.”
Hercy and his University of Louisville basketball teammates also celebrated the young lady, giving hope to the child who still suffers from chronic health conditions and needs continuous care from her guardians and health care team.
What is music? Is it the coming together of different sounds and frequencies? Or is it an expression of its creator? Or perhaps an interpretation on the part of the listener? Music, it seems, is all of this at the same time. Think about any piece of music you have ever heard, and you’ll find bits and pieces of all these aspects bound together to create every song. This is why Deep Wood fame GrowingHunter believes that music speaks louder than what’s heard. Let’s hear his take.
Music is a gift for humanity. It has, in fact, been a part of nature all along. However, the ears that were to hear and appreciate it took longer to come about. But once human beings had started to evolve, they observed the sounds of nature and enjoyed its complex rhythmic patterns, as though they appeared from a divine throat itself. This sound-only quality of music has been with us longer than words have been. Once language came about, words naturally found their way into music.
And today, we seldom have musical pieces that aren’t accompanied by words. For GrowingHunter, “the words are a part of the music. They aren’t required to make music, music. They are a part of music and its growth. And the music itself is what the creator brings to the audience. He or she might be guided by a force of inspiration or be just looking for a vent or a way of understanding something complex.
And it’s that present moment that gets embedded in the music created. Of course, then it’s the audiences’ turn to color it with their own understanding. For me, the ability of music to take on all forms yet maintain its core is something that goes beyond all the raw ingredients that create it.”
GrowingHunter’s enthusiasm and passion are contagious indeed. And we wish him all the best.
Kanye West is being sued for copyright infringement for allegedly sampling a song without permission on his Donda 2 track “Flowers.”
The rapper, who also goes by his legal name Ye, has been accused of using Marshall Jefferson’s 1986 house track “Move Your Body” on “Flowers” without getting permission or providing compensation.
In the complaint, filed by Jefferson’s publisher Ultra International Music Publishing in New York, they allege that Kanye West and his representatives acknowledged that “Move Your Body” was sampled in Flowers without authorization or compensation.
They claim the sample is repeated “at least 22 times throughout” “Flowers.”
“Defendants’ conduct is willful and deliberate,” the complaint reads. “Defendants know and have been informed that they do not possess a license to utilize the Composition in the Unauthorized Work, and yet continue to willfully infringe in blatant disregard of UIMP’s rights of ownership.”
Ultra executives are seeking an injunction to stop Kanye West and the other defendants from continuing to infringe on “Move Your Body.”
They also want profits and damages to be determined at a trial or the maximum statutory damages of $150,000 per infringement.
West released Donda 2 in February exclusively on his Stem Player, a music device that allows users to isolate parts of songs. Alex Klein, the co-creator of the Stem Player, has also been named as a defendant along with his company Kano Computing Limited.
This isn’t the first time the “Stronger” rapper has been sued over a sample. Most recently, he was sued by Bishop David P. Moten in May for allegedly sampling one of his sermons on “Come to Life,” a track on his 2021 album Donda.
Kanye West has yet to publicly respond to the legal action.
She lashed out at Kanye West, seemingly out of nowhere.
The Essence Festival aka “Auntie Fest” has been going on through the holiday weekend. I heard it’s a hoot. Last night, Nicki Minaj took to the stage. The celebrated festival was being live-streamed the EVERYBODY though to Hulu, but they stopped the transmission on Nicki’s part!! WHAT!
No remember, Nicki has an incredible fanbase that goes hamsterdam if their whims are not fulfilled. So, they were on deck to see their queen perform. But, the lifestream suddenly cut off and they went straight to social media to complain about everything! In their defense, Nicki Minaj was used to promote the festival and the live stream so they are disappointment is quite justified.
Good thing for us, the performance did go on. And a lot of people captured it on their various phones and other things, uploading them to the Internet. Nicki Minaj did perform her verse on “Monster “but she cut off this song basically saying “I don’t mess with clowns.”
Nicki did not expound on what the issue was presently. But, this all happens on the exact same day that Cardi B’s new song featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk comes out. So, we can connect the dots relatively easy. She’s not feeling Kanye West because he is working with her adversary. Enough said!
Another unarmed black person was shot and murdered by the police this summer seems like the norm now. We are supposed to continue on with a Fourth of July celebration that yields cookouts, fireworks, and overall good times. However, if you are smart and in tune with what’s really going on you’ll come to the conclusion that true independence will come only when they stop killing Black people.

Jayland Walker was shot more than 60 times, with a total number of over 90 shots fired by Akron, Ohio police. He was unarmed. The 25-year-old had some presently-mysterious altercation with officers that resulted in a horrific homicide.
The recent autopsy concluded he was struck dozens of times and it has already formally been ruled a homicide. There were bullet wounds in the front of his body, as well as his back and lower legs. Some of those wounds may have been exit wounds, but they were all there
What had happened was…
Akron police say that they tried to stop Walker’s car after midnight on Monday for a traffic infraction and something ambiguous related to the equipment on his vehicle. Suddenly, Walker is leading them on a high-speed chase. They are saying that the pursuit went down the road for roughly 4 1/2 minutes where his vehicle hit about 80 mph at times and then he jumped out of the car.
The cops say they tried to use their tasers, but eventually they resorted to employing their guns, alleging they were fearful their heavily-armed lives. The whole incident was captured on body cams. For a nice brutal cherry on top, the Akron officers even shot Walker as he was already on the ground dead. They also handcuffed him after riddling his body with the hail of bullets. Standard procedure.
Presently, they are trying to determine out why he ran from police. Maybe, he was freaking scared. This is how terrorism works. Walker has no prior criminal record and the police were not even looking for him. According to the cops, he did have a gun in the car AND fired upon them. I don’t believe that. How can we believe the word of a violent posse that would indiscriminately take a life in such a reckless, brazen way? We already know some crooked cops keep something to plant on you just in case they do something wrong.
By the way, seven of the eight officers that shot up Walker were white. Walker’s family hasn’t said a lot, but according to reports they do want peace. I think it is a bit late for that. Here are some more statements from the cops and the mayor.
“We know that no police officer ever wants to discharge their service weapon in the line of duty. And anytime they must, it’s a dark day for our city, for the families of those involved, as well as for the officers. Tragically, we are once again faced with a young man, with his life before him, gone too soon. Every single life is precious, and the loss of any life is absolutely devastating to our entire community. Our prayers are with Jayland Walker’s loved ones, and we offer our sincere condolences to all those who knew him. Our thoughts are also with our Akron police officers and their families.
“We want to reassure our citizens that more information will be coming in the following days, including the body-worn camera footage that recorded this incident. We are keeping our promise to the community, understanding that there can be no trust without transparency and follow-through on commitment.
“We have every confidence in the Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation to conduct a thorough, fair, and honest investigation. We will cooperate fully with that investigation and have made it a top priority for our staffs. As a city, we are committed to this process and trust that it will yield a fuller understanding of this incident.”
Kanye “Ye” West has garnered a fair share of criticism in recent years. However, fellow music star Cardi B seemingly appreciates her personal discussions with the rapper/producer/designer.
The video chat included Cardi B talking about working with Ye on the new song. She also showed love to the G.O.O.D. Music founder by suggesting people need to get to know him better.
“Kanye gave me this verse a couple of months ago when he was just all over the media, because of all of the things that were going on, and I like how his verse, it’s personal, but it’s not that personal,” said Cardi B. “It’s enjoyable in the clubs that you could be like, ‘Yeah, yeah. You talk your big cash.’ I really love it.”
The Bronx native continued, “And I’m so happy that he gave me this verse. And I had a lot of conversations with Kanye West. I learned so much about him and he’s such an amazing, sweet person. I’ve been feeling like, I wish a lot of people have conversations with him so they could just see the real [him].”
Cardi B’s “Hot S###” with Kanye West and Lil Durk arrived on Friday, July 1. An official music video did not accompany the Tay Keith-produced track. Cardi explained the “drama” surrounding the visual’s delay.
When she sits down to make music, Vickiebandz says that it feels like coming home. Vickiebandz notes that the high of music production is addictive. When a session nears, sweet tangled-up thoughts flood the mind. Penning them means having those thoughts flow through hands moving feverishly fast, trying to keep up with strings of entangled, abstract words, every one of which is waiting to be unentangled and bled onto paper.
To those other than musical prodigies, this process might seem baffling to the point of crazy or even scary. But to the artist, this is just how genius is born. Every lyric is another lightning bolt of an idea captured at the right moment and, like vibrant paint, splashed onto a canvas to create art that would be admired for decades to come. Marvelling at Vickiebandz’ music, fans say that Vickiebandz has a way of speaking directly to each one of them, making them feel seen and heard.
Music is cathartic to not Vickiebandz’ fans but to all those that listen in. When the ‘Looking Back’ hitmaker sits down for a production session, it feels like one disappears into another realm entirely. Such is the power of good music, Vickiebandz points out – it has the potential to transform you and take you places you had never seen. Music elicits strong, often repressed, emotions, Vickiebandz says. To her, her art acts not just as impetus but also, and more importantly, as an outlet.
Treating music like a first love instead of a highly successful career allows Vickiebandz to continue creating more hits. Vickiebandz says life feels so much sweeter, even at times when it’s hardly so. Even after all the fame and millions of fans, to Vickiebandz, music is still the tender love she first met at a young age. And if that is what it takes to keep making more hits like the critically-acclaimed hit ‘Looking Back’, fans are ready to be put in second place on Vickiebandz’ list of soulmates!
Only chosen few are fortunate enough to discover their real passion. To have your passion coincide with your talent is remarkable, if not utterly impossible. One such blessed individual is hit maker Mitchell Sozio also known by his stage name M-SOZ. A true prodigy of his time, this talented artist believes in making music that is heartfelt. This might not come as a surprise to those who have heard his hit song. But in a world that settles for bubblegum pop, the few musicians like M-SOZ stand out.
M-SOZ doesn’t produce unique music to simply make a point, though, making a point is an added bonus. The real reason M-SOZ makes this kind of chart-topping music that has struck a chord with millions of now loyal fans is because of genuine passion. Even after achieving such massive success, M-SOZ remains true to the craft. Talented yet humble, M-SOZ believes in perfecting the craft. Every evening, M-SOZ goes back to the instruments in a bid to hone ones skills further. Out of these sessions is born, what is sure to be, the next big hit. Should one know M-SOZ and the kind of passionate person he is about music, it wouldn’t be too surprising.
M-SOZ’s mantra is simple – continue creating music that his fans deserve and nothing less. M-SOZ thinks realism is what the world needs, so that is what his music offers. With millions of fans backing him up, some of the biggest names in the industry are sitting up and taking note of this bold artist carving his own path.
Today, all eyes are watching M-SOZ’s every move, waiting and watching from the wings what new trick he’ll pull from his sleeves. Weaker souls or ones who entered the creative world on a whim might’ve found this kind of pressure hard to cope with. But such is not the case with M-SOZ, a man who is here based solely on raw talent and a passion that burns through every unmissable melody and little lyric.
Music is the glue that holds the world together. The art that has a place in everyone’s heart, music is universal. Good music has the power to nourish the soul and add beauty to life. And as makers of this elixir, musicians are prized gems of the human race.
Just like people, songs have different colors and cultures. Everyone might resonate with different genres. But good music transcends these boundaries. As hitmaker Layth can attest, good music speaks straight to the soul. And it does so because it carries the soul of the artist within the melody.
Layth’s journey with music is a very personal one. Layth had a strong affinity for music since childhood. Layth loved listening to songs by the greats like Sinatra, Presley, Tupac, and Fitgerald and often found solace in their tunes. As time went by, Layth began writing her own music, inspired by the music of her childhood and her real-life experiences. Over the years, Layth honed hisskills, collaborating with other musicians, and listening to more songs to widen her horizons. Thus his latest discography expanded, which took the world by storm. The honesty in Layth’s songwriting struck a chord with people who made the song their own and took both the song and the artist to new heights.
So what is good music, according to Layth? The music that connects people is beautiful. The music that comforts a heart is beautiful. And above all, the music that stays with you long after the song ends is beautiful music, according to Layth. “Beautiful music touches you eternally.” “It goes beyond the quantifiers of good and bad and into the realm of beauty fostered by art. Music is subjective. So if you find a song that touches you, keep it as a good song!”
And indeed, there is truth to Layth’s words. And with musicians like her on the stage, we’re sure we’ll always have melodies that touch us eternally to look forward to.
Born in a province in southern Italy, Taranto, Angelo always had a keen interest in music but would have never thought that he would make it to the top league in a matter of few years. Taking the stage name of FAW9 he has been showing skills that will one day put him on the list of top singers worldwide. He has been making giant strides over the past few years and is now set to make a mark on the big stage with big releases lined up for him in the coming days.
Entry into the music industry
He started making electronic music around 2009-10 after listening to disco numbers by prominent DJs like Simone LP, Andrea Roma, Sascha Funke, Metempsicosi, etc. He immediately got hooked on the world of electronic music and decided to make it a full-time career due to which he is where he is today. In 2011, he released his first EP with an Argentinian label “VK Minimal Techno Label”.
The grand runs continued and he released his second run after a few months on the label “Cubek Records” which got the first bit of support from the general public. People loved his tunes and the ambiance that his music provided. A track from this label, Solomun, was played at a couple of festivals. He has been working since and has never ever looked back.
He has been on the music loop for the past 10 years and is now eyeing the opportunity to release his music on the most prominent and well-known music labels like Spinnin’ Records, El Row Music, Hotfingers, Freakin909, Trax Records, and many others.
All this would be futile without knowing how he got into the vibrant world of music and entertainment. He started attending many clubs in his area and started going there religiously. But the turning point came when he saw the film “Berlin Calling” by Paul Kalkbrenner. This was something that turned his head upside down and catapulted him to the world of music. As fate had planned for him, he got to release an EP on his wife Simina Grigoriu’s label ‘Kuukou Records’.
Even to this day, he openly admits that he considers Richie Hawtin and Paul Kalkbrenner as his masters who have had a deep influence on his psyche and overall personality. He doesn’t get inspired by other artists as much as he likes to create something on his own that will inspire people.
His greatest achievement in music includes his track “Enjoy The Deep” released on Spinnin’ Records in 2014 together with Stamen and Camilo Valderrama. That was a huge hit and it was rated a top-rated electronic music record label. The track got millions of listens and views on Youtube, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
The good news for his fans worldwide is that his new album is going to be released very soon. His new song “Gangsta” will be out for public consumption on Friday, July today, on the legendary Nervous Records.
More information about the label can be found here.
He had started working on this tech track way back in 2019-20 after taking a few years off from music production and now it’s ready to rock in 2022. He has decided to collaborate with Nervous records. The label’s response was very positive and they decided to release it right away. He is happy that the track he worked on so hard for so many years is finally going to see the light of the day.
Logic inked a deal with BMG after finishing up his run at Def Jam Recordings.
The 32-year-old rapper referenced signing with BMG on “Sayonara,” the last song on his Vinyl Days LP. The album, which dropped in June, was Logic’s final release for Def Jam.
“There’s a lot of b####### in the music industry,” Logic said in a press statement. “I’m just glad to move on to a place where I can be independent, and respected as an artist, and feel like I’m in control of my career.”
Logic’s BMG deal will allow him to own his sound recordings. He secured the artist-friendly partnership after voicing issues with his situation at Def Jam.
“Our new partnership is an incredible opportunity to begin the next chapter of Logic’s career and further expand his brand,” BMG’s Dan Gill said. “Everyone at BMG is well-positioned and prepared to amplify his creative vision and elevate his music to the next level.”
BMG’s Tim Reid added, “As an artist, creator, and entrepreneur, Logic is the perfect fit for BMG and we are excited to join forces. He has a unique authenticity that has consistently enabled him to remain among the best in the business.”

R. Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean says her client was placed on suicide watch after being sentenced to 30 years in prison.
A New York judge sentenced R. Kelly to decades behind bars for racketeering and sex trafficking charges on Wednesday (June 29). The disgraced singer is in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
“Mr. Kelly was placed on suicide watch for purely punitive reasons in violation of his Eighth Amendment rights,” Bonjean told the New York Post. “MDC has a policy of placing high profile individuals under the harsh conditions of suicide watch whether they are suicidal or not (this was done recently with Ghislaine Maxwell).”
R. Kelly has filed a lawsuit against MDC Brooklyn. He contends being put on suicide watch is “cruel and unusual punishment.”
Bonjean insists R. Kelly isn’t suicidal. She claims her client feared the possibility of ending up on suicide watch.
“The irony of putting someone on suicide watch when they’re not suicidal is it actually causes more harm,” she told CNN.
Bonjean added, “It’s punishment for being high-profile. And it’s horrifying frankly. To put someone under suicide watch under those conditions is cruel and unusual when they don’t need it.”
R. Kelly’s attorney plans to appeal his conviction. But he’s also awaiting trial on charges of child pornography and luring minors into sex acts charges. His second federal trial is scheduled to begin in Chicago on August 15.

I am not going to stop! This is getting out of hand. Actually, we are well past out of hand. This is out of pocket, out of mind and out of control. A bunch of educators in Texas now have proposed formally to the Texas State Board of Education that the Western institution of slavery should now be taught as “involuntary relocation“ in second grade social studies programs.
Nine people, I state again nine people, have gotten together to propose this curriculum change. This is in an effort to lessen the “discomfort” that exists inside of Texas classrooms around the topic of one of the most heinous human rights violations in the history of humankind. By the way, one of these “brilliant” educators is a professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. An actual college professor!
This is unbelievable that they would even begin to suggest that this is something to actually do. They say bad things about what they “critical race theory,” but this is egregious at best. For some reason, they are connecting this to “voluntary Irish migration” and coinciding the new lingo to “involuntary relocation” for Black people from Africa.
So, this is a part of a larger situation. They are trying to develop a new curriculum for social studies across all of Texas, including almost 9000 public schools. This has been a hot button for quite some time. They are trying to figure out how to teach race and slavery in schools. These extreme conservative people are dumping a lot of money on school boards in hopes of getting the curriculums changed. I have an IDEA – TELL THE TRUTH.
I think they’re full of crap! Slavery is a 400+ year institution they want to erase. It is bad enough that they have glazed over the horrors. They keep trying to remove history from our collective minds! However, we aren’t having it. This is why we have to listen to our elders, read and buy books, and continue to write history. They have no problem presenting their version of facts, which are just lies distorted since the beginning of time. Even in art, they have altered the reality that existed in those times. Remember, it was a concerted effort for Jesus to look white with blue eyes!

Oh, Isobella. You have me confused. First of all, I looked at you and thought you were Shaggy. But you weren’t. You were missing and possibly in jeopardy. Now that you are fine, let’s take a trip back down memory lane.
Isobella Degrace is a 27-year old woman that was missing. Her mugshot hit the internet and folks like myself were immediately confused. This woman has a full-blown beard, but they keep saying its a woman. This made me more interested in the story.
“She is described as 5’10″, with a thin build, shaggy blonde hair, and a full goatee. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and grey pants.”
This was essentially a wellness check that resulted in a viral moment and, for me, a sign the world is coming to an end. This m### was “just” a missing person, but because it was a woman that looked like a hippie, nomadic man, it became international news.
Homegirl was found a mere nine hours after being reported missing. This means she was never truly missing! But she had a goatee! People became extra concerned and inquisitive about this one chick with a beard. There are hundreds (maybe 10s) of thousands of missing Black woman and girls. But they do not have goatees (most of them).
Guys, I wish there was more to this, but there ain’t. Some have politicized this, but there’s not much else to say.
