Laverne Cox was mistaken for Beyoncé at a U.S. Open tennis match on Monday night.
The “Orange Is the New Black” actress was spotted in the crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, where Serena Williams beat Montenegro’s Danka Kovinic in one of her final games before she retires.
Laverne, who wore a black dress and matching face mask to the sporting event, soon began trending on social media as fans became convinced that music superstar Beyoncé was in the crowd.
“Not me getting mistaken for @beyonce at the #USOpen tonight then trending on Twitter as the internet cackles over the mistaken identity. These tweets are funny as hell. Enjoy!!! Go @serenawilliams #GOAT #SerenaWilliams #Beyonce,” she wrote on Instagram.
Laverne had a lot of fun with the Beyoncé comparisons and also shared a number of humorous memes she had been sent.
“The fact that this is Laverne Cox has me screaming,” one fan wrote, while another added: “Was Beyoncé at the US Open or not? This Bey/Laverne Cox confusion is sending me.”

The internet has been full of praise from Jay-Z since his verse on DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” landed last week, with many claiming Hov got verse of the year.
One person on the receiving end of the music industry mogul’s praise is U.K. rapper Giggs, who Jay-Z shouted out on the track. “I see a lot of Hov in Giggs”, he raps in “God Did,” giving the Londoner a hefty co-sign.
Giggs joined DJ Khaled for a celebration of the album at the weekend, alongside a host of other rappers. He took to Instagram to share some footage from the event featuring Fabolous, Offset, Dave East, and more. The South Londoner smiled as DJ Khaled and others celebrated him while the track played in the background.
“That’s mad,” he said, shortly after it happened. “That’s a big man,” Giggs said of Jay-Z. He recalled getting ready to take his son to school in the morning when he learned of the news. “I was f###### knackered man, then I see that and I was just up.”

Caresha then took the conversation up a notch asking if the H-Town Hottie would have sex with her. After they both erupted into a fit of giggles, Megan finally responded, “Yeah, I would.” Meg also let Miami know that she would be the one on top.
The two talented rappers then flattered each other with compliments while Megan The Stallion revealed that she likes how submissive Yung Miami is with her. “You be very girly every time I see you and I be like, ‘That’s why I like her. She be ready to just come sit in my lap.’ That’s what I like.”

Ebony p###, b####.” She then asked Yung Miami what type of p### she’s into, with Miami confessing she is only turned on by girl-on-girl p###: “I feel like that’s how I always knew I was bisexual … I feel like [women] know how to please each other.” Check out the episode at the end of the page.
Last month, Yung Miami shared a video showing her and Megan Thee Stallion flirting during a night out. The pair grabbed and stroked each other as Megan joked that she was upset by Caresha going public with Diddy.

Irv Gotti claims he keeps talking about Ashanti because people keep asking him about her, but all that stops now, according to him.
The Murder Inc. honcho addressed the claims during a recent interview with The Shade Room. When asked why he keeps talking about the singer, he replied, “Cause that’s why. You askin’ me. Did I bring Ashanti up? You did it. Here’s what I’m going to say. I wish Ashanti nothing but the best. I’m not hooked on her, like ‘I can’t get over her.’ It’s none of that s###.”
Furthermore, Irv said not including Ashanti in the recent Murder Inc. docuseries would have garnered even more attention.
“I got paid to do a documentary on my life and on Murder Inc. If I didn’t talk about Ashanti,” Irv Gotto continued, “you would have been like what kind of b####### is this that he didn’t speak about her. She’s too important to Murder Inc. and his life. They tried to #MeToo me. You know what the f### they said. Stop it Shade Room. You the shadiest ones.”
The music industry executive’s recent comments have been widely criticized online, with many fans labeling him a weirdo for dishing the dirt on age-old rumors.
He must have been feeling some type away about the response left on the post as he hopped in the comments section to add further clarification. He replied to someone questioning why he keeps answering the comments.
Irv Gotti Says He Will No Longer Talk About Ashanti
“Oh. Please believe. It’s gonna be NO COMMENT from here on end,” Irv insisted. “Haha. But I felt like at least trying to make y’all understand. Moving forward. It will be limited interviews and about of no comments. I tell the truth cause I want the people to know the real. But honestly. Y’all don’t give a f### about the truth.
According to Irv, he’s one of the few in the industry that keeps it real, and he’s being punished for it.
“Y’all gonna say and do whatever y’all want. So why keep giving y’all the real,” he continued. “It’s to be like everyone else. Lie to y’all. Alter the truth. Or don’t say s### to y’all and keep you in the dark. Hahaha I got slandered for telling y’all the absolute truth. Lol.”
Irv Gotti has continued to discuss his alleged relationship with Ashanti following his Drink Champs interview earlier this month. Last week he became a trending topic on Twitter with fans blasting him for his comments in the latest installment of the Murder Inc. Series. He trended for two days after he recalled a late-night studio session with the songstress.
“She used to wear these Juicy sweats and her ass was looking fat. Her ass was looking great,” he recalls. “So, one day I was like, ‘Yo, I’ll take you home.’ She said, ‘Bet, cool.’ We are walking to her front door of her crib. She turns and says goodbye and I just kiss her and grab her ass and just mwah. It was like, what took you so long?”
I’LL SAY IT: Ashanti was like 20 & Irv Gotti was 10 years older, in control of her career with power dynamics; it’s giving he preyed on her.
Joe Budden had an issue with the way Adam22 of the No Jumper podcast spoke on Kevin Samuels after his passing earlier this year, and he confronted him directly during a recent episode of the Joe Budden Podcast.
The former rapper turned podcaster uploaded a clip from the show on Tube on Monday (Aug. 29) addressing his qualms with Adam22, slamming him for reposting his interview with Kevin Samuels shortly after his death. The influencer and talk show host died in July as a result of hypertension.
“I’ve got some smoke for you,” he began speaking directly to Adam22. before adding “rest in peace to the godfather. I don’t like what you did after he died. It’s disgusting.” Adam interjected, “What, re-uploading the interview?”
Joe continued, “Disgusting. Disgusting. The nastiest performance I’ve ever seen. Why do y’all do that?”
The pair then disagreed over what it means to be a content creator. That’s an insane position for someone who’s in media to hold,” Adam replied. “What is your job as a content creator? Your job is to make content and get that content out to the people who want to see it.”
“False,” Budden fired back before Adam responded, “[If] someone dies, there is a huge demand for that content. You re-upload it, people see it on their subscription feed, they click on it because [it’s] a very talked-about thing.
The pair continued to disagree as Joe Budden interrupted his guest. “Nasty, he said, covering his ears. “I can’t even listen to this. That is disgusting.”
Adam replied, “Give me a coherent argument against re-uploading content when that person is extremely newsworthy.”
While Joe Budden agreed with Adam22 that the content did not portray Kevin Samuels in a negative light, he suggested he was profiting from his passing. “He just re-uploaded everything in the world that he had on Kevin Samuels in the moment that he died,” Joe said. He said if he wasn’t trying to capitalize on Samuel’s death, he shouldn’t have monetized the content.
Adam22 then argued that he was celebrating Samuel’s life and compared it to radio stations playing Pop Smoke after he died. Nonetheless, Budden maintained his position, and the pair never agreed. Check out the clip below.
Fan Rebellion is looking to turn it back with their first show In Las Vegas – Boombox! A Vegas Residency on Shuffle. Their premier residency show will include iconic artists such as CeeLo Green, Kid ‘N Play, Tone Loc, and more. This show is set to have its audience dancing and grooving from the first song. Fan Rebellion, a Vegas-based production company, is looking to bring Hip-Hop and other underrepresented genres to the big stages in Vegas.
Jimmy Maynes, the Chief Creative Officer for Fan Rebellion, is determined to create both a show and a company that connects to everyday people. “As a company, we are looking to give investors a chance to invest in an industry that is traditionally dominated by big-time investors.” For as little as $105 dollars, fans can gain access to share in the profits of the company. Traditionally, Las Vegas entertainment is reserved for investors that are able to invest a far larger amount.
“Currently, most opportunities to invest in Vegas entertainment have an entry point of 6 or 7 figures just for a single show. We are looking to give investors the chance to invest in all of our shows for as little as $105, by becoming owners and partners in our company.”
Boombox! is a direct result of Fan Rebellion’s commitment to – well, rebelling. It’s no secret that Hip-Hop and other urban entertainment have not been recognized in the big-name venues of Las Vegas – that’s exactly what Maynes and his team are trying to change. “We feel like Vegas is hungry for something different. No one else is putting Hip-Hop on a showroom stage. You can find it in the clubs and bars, but not in a showroom.”
As a tilt of the hat to ‘90s era hip-hop, Boombox! is looking to create a show that feels like a house party. Maynes stated, “When we created this, we were looking to recreate the house party scene of the ‘90s. With staples like Kid ‘N Play, J.J. Fad, Hip-Hop purist Eric B, and of course CeeLo Green, we are looking to have everyone from 20-year-olds to grandmas drinking and dancing the night away.”
If you are looking for the perfect combination of the Las Vegas experience while enjoying some of your favorite HIp-Hop tunes, BoomBox! is certainly a show that you don’t want to miss. With tickets starting as low as $29, you can find more about experiencing this show at their website Boombox Vegas.

Chris Rock won’t return to host the Oscars in 2023.
According to the Arizona Republic, the comedian said he rejected an offer to host the Academy Awards again. He mentioned the invite during a show in Phoenix on Sunday night (August 28).
Chris Rock reportedly referenced O.J. Simpson’s murder trial when explaining why he turned down the gig. He suggested it would be like going back to the scene of a crime. The comic also joked about Will Smith slapping him.
“He’s bigger than me,” Chris Rock said. “The state of Nevada would not sanction a fight between me and Will Smith.”
Earlier this year, ABC executive Craig Erwich told Deadline he was open to bringing back Chris Rock to host the Oscars. The comedian hosted the 2022 Academy Awards, but the event was largely overshadowed by the infamous slap.
Will Smith walked up on stage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian joked about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s haircut. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science banned Will Smith for a decade due to the incident.
“The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” the Board said in a statement.
Will Smith said he accepted the ban and respected the decision.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis issued a warning to Atlanta rappers at a press conference on Monday (August 29).
Willis said she will continue to use rap lyrics to prosecute alleged criminals. The D.A. spoke to reporters following the indictment of 26 Drug Rich gang members in a RICO case.
“I think if you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I’m gonna use it,” Willis declared.
Willis also denied claims that she’s targeting Atlanta rappers.
“I’m not targeting anyone,” she said. “However, you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it, which you do that for a form of intimidation and to further the gang, and not be held responsible.”
Willis told Atlanta rappers to avoid detailing illegal activity on songs if they don’t want it used as evidence against them.
“People can continue to be angry about it,” she said. “I have some legal advice: don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used or at least get out of my county.”
According to Willis, the Drug Rich gang was responsible for violent home invasions and burglaries. They targeted celebrities such as NFL wide receiver Calvin Ridley and reality TV star Marlo Hampton.
Atlanta rapper RX Hector revealed he’s not involved in the RICO case against Drug Rich. He addressed the indictment after seeing his name brought up on social media.
“The internet is pitiful,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “Stop mentioning my name about charges that I’m not being indicted on. I have a family, a reputation besides rap, most of y’all never support me but everybody reposting sumn BS accusation.”
