“Actually, I’m probably like 95% done with my new album. I want to tease that for the Hotties. I haven’t told them nothing about my album,” stated Megan.
So far, Megan Thee Stallion has released one official studio LP. 2020’s Good News hosts the singles “Body,” “Cry Baby” featuring DaBaby, and “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé.
Megan broke out as a mainstream artist in 2019 with “Big Ole Freak” off the Tina Snow EP. Her discography also includes mixtapes such as 2019 Fever as well as EPs such as 2020’s Suga.

M Huncho delivered another debut earlier this week, dropping off a GRM Daily Duppy freestyle, his first on the platform.
Meanwhile, the masked rapper, whose identity remains a closely guarded secret, showed off a new mask design during a show in London in March.
He unveiled the new disguise – designed by skateboarder and Louis Vuitton collaborator Lucien Clarke – midway through the performance.
“I feel like I reached a space that I haven’t reached before…mentally & spiritually,” he revealed to Rolling Stone UK. “The mask change represents growth, strength, commitment and shear will. Lucien Clarke is someone who inspired me with his work and I had to get him on board as I knew that he would understand how I felt.”
M Huncho also explained how the designer sought inspiration from the upcoming “Chasing Euphoria when creating Huncho’s new mask.
“Most importantly, he understood where I was coming from. In these misunderstood environments we are from. Sometimes all you need is to be understood. And there we had it…a few months down the line. A new face. A new approach,” he said before adding, “A new love for music.”
M Huncho’s debut project Chasing Euphoria arrives on May 20.
Lil Wayne fired back at Mark Cuban after the Dallas Mavericks governor trolled the rapper after his team beat the Phoenix Suns.
The New Orleans native went viral after calling out Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic for foul-baiting during the series and called him a “ho” on Twitter. After beating the Suns, Cuban decided to send a shot back at Lil Wayne, using his own lyrics to troll him. He used a line from 2018’s “Uproar” to caption a photo of the rapper seated courtside in Phoenix.
“It’s a s### show, put you front row,” he wrote, retweeting Wayne’s “Luka a ho,” post.
Lil Wayne must have seen the tweet because he took to Twitter to respond.
“Mark Cuban don’t make me get u smacked boy U playing w me?? I will p### in ya fkn mouth ho,” he wrote in a tweet. However, he must have reconsidered as the post was soon deleted, although not before screenshots were taken.
Earlier this week, Skip Bayless shared some information he learned from Lil Wayne, who overheard a conversation from his courtside seat on Sunday. He was close enough to hear Suns head coach Monty Williams and Deandre Ayton during their sideline confrontation.
What “Our Man Lil Wayne” Told Skip Bayliss
“This, from what I was told, got really ugly,” Bayless explained during Monday’s episode of Undisputed. “From what our man Lil Wayne told me…I think he either heard it or could lip-read. Monty got so upset with Ayton that he said, ‘You fricking quit on us.’ And that led to an exchange where each Monty and Ayton had to be restrained from going at each other.”

Travis Scott announced he is granting $1 million in scholarships to graduating seniors at 100 HBCU college students through his Cactus Jack Foundation.
The Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, named after Travis Scott’s grandfather and HBCU educator, targets black students achieving academic excellence. The award is aimed at students experiencing financial difficulties in the second semester of their senior year averaging at least a 3.5 GPA.
This is the second year Travis Scott has granted 100 $10,000 scholarships through the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund.
“Excellence abounds in every Black household, but too often opportunity does not – and Black students are left behind or counted out. So that’s what my family and I set out to change,” Travis Scott said in a press release. “We congratulate all 100 scholarship recipients this year. I know we will see great things from them – and we are already looking forward to increasing our work next year.”
The fund is spearheaded by the rapper’s sister Jordan Webster who graduated from Howard University this year.
“Last week, I received my own diploma from Howard University,” she said. I know personally how deeply important my grandfather’s academic legacy at HBCUs is to my entire family – to Travis, as well as my twin brother Josh who is at Prairie View A&M University – and now, to 100 people that Travis has been able to help out at a tough time. It means the world to me to be able to work with my brother as he creates hope and makes a real difference for our peers and their families.”
Recipients include Nisha Encarnacion of Florida A&M University and Chisom Okwor of Fisk University. North Carolina Central University broadcast journalism major Jordan Massey struggled with debt while studying for his communications degree.
“I believe that this scholarship money will allow me to repay some of [my] debts and just really help alleviate some of that stress off of my family during such a stressful time,” Massey, who thanked Travis Scott for the award, said in a video. “It’s been a very taxing four years so this is much appreciated.”
A bill supported by artists including Jay-Z, Fat Joe, and Meek Mill alongside academics like Michelle Alexander, restricting when prosecutors can cite rap lyrics as evidence during criminal cases, passed in New York’s state Senate on Tuesday (May 17).
Senate Bill S7527 referred to as “Rap Music on Trial,” must still pass the state assembly before becoming law. The bill, sponsored by Senator Brad Hoylman (D/WFP-Manhattan), Senator Jamaal Bailey (D-The Bronx), and Assemblymember Catalina Cruz (D-Queens), passed by a vote of 38-23.
While the bill covers artists across all genres, supporters argue the protection is vital for rap artists who use their lyrics to tell stories. Supporters also point to the disproportionate impact usage of rap lyrics has on Black men.
New York State Senator Brad Hoylman says, “Art is creative expression, not a blueprint of criminal plans. Yet we’ve seen prosecutors in New York and across the country try to use rap lyrics as evidence in criminal trial, a practice upheld this year by Young Thug’s prosecutors.”
“It’s time to end the egregous bias against certain genres of music – like rap – and protect the First Amendment rights of all artists,” Hoylman continues. “I’m proud the New York senate passed this legislation so that New York leads the way in treating artists fairly, no matter their race or gender.”
“Rap should not be treated differently from any other art form; yet in courtrooms across the country, artists have been unfairly targeted for simply exercising their right to creative expression,” said Senator Bailey. “Presuming a defendant’s guilt based solely on musical genre or creative expression is antithetical to our foundational rights and perpetuates the systemic racism that is embedded into the criminal justice system through discriminatory conflations of hip-hop and rap with criminality.”
Wanda Sykes is still reeling from Will Smith’s behavior at the 2022 Academy Awards.
During the ceremony on March 27th, the “King Richard” actor walked onto the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock after he compared his wife Jada Pinkett Smith – who has the medical condition alopecia – to G.I. Jane.
Wanda Sykes co-hosted the event with Regina Hall and Amy Schumer and as part of her comedy set at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida, she revealed that it will take her a long time to get over the incident.
“I’m still traumatized. I can’t talk about it. I get emotional,” she said.
Sykes shared how she couldn’t believe how Will Smith remained in the audience for the show’s duration.
“I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an a######. Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, m###########?” the 58-year-old asked, adding: “I hope he gets his s### together. Until then, f### him.”
Smith apologized to Academy members and his peers during his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the film event and followed it up with a lengthy apology on Instagram the next day.

Damon says that he owns 1/3rd of the album, along with Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella Records’ other co-founder, Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
Damon was attempting to sell his rights in June of 2021, but Jay-Z and his lawyers halted an auction and filed a lawsuit against Damon Dash.
Jay-Z and his legal team said Damon is simply a shareholder in the company RAF, Inc., which owns and controls the Reasonable Doubt asset.
Jay-Z argued that Damon had no right to sell a company asset. The pair and their legal team tried to resolve the issues, but the negotiations officially ended in a stalemate.
“RAF, Inc. and Defendant Damon Dash have reached an impasse and are unable, at this time, to reach a stipulation to resolve their claims and counterclaims,” Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro revealed.
According to Spiro, they will seek a summary judgment against Damon Dash.
Spiro says a summary judgment would permanently bar Damon Dash from “altering in any way, selling, assigning, pledging, encumbering, contracting with regard to, or in any way disposing of any property interest in the album Reasonable Doubt, including its copyright and including through any means, such as auctioning a non-fungible token (NFT) reflecting, referring, or directing such interest.”
According to Alex Spiro, through litigation, Damon has admitted to “his lack of ownership interest in Reasonable Doubt.”
Jay-Z and his counsel plan to ask a judge to dismiss Damon’s claim that they ruined his deal because there is no “genuine dispute of material fact.”
The legal war will resume in court next month in June when Roc-A-Fella Records will formally file for the summary judgment against Damon Dash.

Bobby Shmurda’s dancing helped him secure a new gig.
The multi-platinum selling rapper landed a deal to teach dance lessons on an app. Bobby Shmurda discussed his future as a dance instructor during an appearance on The Amazing AllHipHop Podcast.
“I just signed a deal with this app that’s gonna have me doing dance lessons this summer,” he told hosts Chuck Creekmur and Slops. “It’s called Tilt. It’s gonna be launching this summer. I just signed with them. And it’s gonna be doing all my dance lessons.”
Bobby Shmurda frequently displayed his love of dancing following his prison release in February 2021. But his dance moves quickly became a target of criticism. Wack 100 claimed Bobby Shmurda was “losing the streets” by dancing.
Last year, Cardi B was the most prominent Hip Hop artist to defend Bobby Shmurda’s dancing after seeing people mock him on social media.
“Y’all really be trying Bobby cause he be dancing and no lie when I used to do visits in Rikers Bobby & Rowdy were always in OBC solitary confinement cause they was really getting it rockin,” she wrote on Twitter. “Them boys ain’t punked out in jail really stood on their s### unlike a lot of rappers.”
Bobby Shmurda’s interview with AllHipHop also provided an update on his debut album, which has been delayed for years. The former Epic Records artist said he plans to drop an EP before releasing his long-awaited LP.
“EP coming, then a project,” he told Chuck Creekmur and Slops. “Because I’ve really got a project, but I’ve got too much f###### songs for an album. And f###### people’s attention spans are short. I’m not trying to give [a] m########### a 30-song album. I’ll give ‘em an EP, then an album.”

Florida has been a popular brand in hip-hop for the past few years. While it’s nice to see Florida get the recognition it deserves, the genre has begun to provide the state with many musical offerings, particularly with its thriving Hip-Hop industry.
Savannah Cristina and the dynamic Twelve’len, for example, are leading the way. And renowned performers like T-Pain, Pretty Ricky, Betty Wright, and, if we’re being serious, Ray Charles have all called Florida home.
But there’s still so much to learn.
Although the Covid pandemic has kneecapped the music industry, there are still many artists to discover. And one such artist is Jeff Moss. Jeff Moss , known as Jflexxx, is a 24 years old rising artist from Florida, causing a huge scene in the music industry.
Having millions of streams, Jflexxx is being compared to Juice Wrld, which happens to be also his biggest inspiration to do music. He started doing music in December 2021, his first single “ I Done Got Rich “ had over 100,000 streams in less than a month, and his second single “ Joe Biden “ had over 100,000 streams in 2 weeks. His most-streamed song “ Fate “ has now more than 2.2M streams on Soundcloud and with over 70,000 monthly listeners, Jflexxx is working on his upcoming album “ Prolific “.
It is rare to find a song that instantly clicks the first time you play it. But with Jflexxx’s songs, you can be sure of it. He is one of those rarities. A profound introduction to the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, his tracks possess a soulful essence and prowess that will keep you replaying the songs over and over again. There are colorful grooves and feel-good rhythms in his songs.
Many labels reached out to J but as he likes to mention, he is signed to “ himself “, by that he means to his own label “ Prolific Records “, which is centered around motivational multi-faceted music & entertainment. With producers, audio engineers, videographers, editors & talent. The passion that Jflexxx has for his music is huge, his main goal is to keep making music and inspire millions of people around the world.
The internet has given many the opportunity to showcase their talents independently. Not many have been able to achieve this easily. Establishing yourself in a creative industry can be tough, but people make it happen through hard work and commitment to their art. Mohamed Rashid, who comes from the Netherlands and is only 21 years old, has made this happen.
He is a YouTuber who is slowly moving towards music production. He always knew that his true passion lay in creating beats that mattered to him. The music he’s been producing is where his true dedication lies. Rashid comes off as a very relaxed person through the videos he creates on YouTube, but there’s more to him than just that.
Rashid has two YouTube channels where he has more than 65,000 and 100,000 subscribers, respectively. This has been possible since his followers have been able to connect with his content really well. They also appreciate the music that Rashid releases.
He is someone who has been inspired to create high-quality music from a very young age. Rashid created music with his friends and didn’t know that music would become a major part of his life eventually. His work has been inspirational for many up-and-coming artists and young minds as well. In 2020, Rashid was nominated as the Best Gamer by The Best Social Awards. He did this by sharing his live game streaming videos with his audience. Once people started to show more interest in this, Rashid became a lot more confident in sharing this with the world.
He strongly believes that if he is able to find the right demographic and create remarkable videos, so can anyone else if they are determined enough. Despite everything that Rashid has been able to achieve, there is a lot more he is looking forward to going after. He aims to collaborate with bigger artists and convert these big numbers into a concrete ROI.
