The frequent collaborators dropped the music video for “Neighborhood Superstar” last week, ahead of the new album.

The pair held a joint Instagram Live session on Thursday night (Feb. 4) to share the project with their fans. While DaBaby was at a listening party in Miami Beach, YoungBoy was in a quieter location. The DJ at DaBaby’s release party previewed a selection of songs from Better Than You to the live viewers as both artists rapped along to the lyrics.

DaBaby spoke highly of NDA YoungBoy during a recent interview but said the Baton Rouge rapper is underrated.

“I like NBA YoungBoy a lot,” said DaBaby. “I know he don’t get the credit he deserves for his music because of the stigma that surrounds him. He is a crazy talent.”

He also praised YoungBoy for making the music he wants to make, despite what anybody else has to say.

After my music, I probably like his music the most,” he revealed. “Just because of his story and how he puts it out there, how shameless he is with putting it out there. And the type of music that he continues to make and not only that, how versatile he can be with it. How he can make this type of song and that type of song. I like it.”

Both DaBaby and YoungBoy have been busy lately; the former putting out back-to-back singles with Nicki Minaj among other one-off singles and freestyles, and the latter dropped his Colors mixtape last month, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts.

NBA YoungBoy has also been beefing with Lil Durk and recently released “I Hate YoungBoy,” dissing the rapper. He also aims for Durk, his fiancée India, Gucci Mane, King Von, and other artists and industry players.

Jam Master Jay Murder Suspect Denied Bond, Trial Scheduled For 2023

One of the men accused of killing Jam Master Jay was denied bond on Thursday (March 3).

A Brooklyn judge rejected Karl Jordan Jr.’s request to be released on a $1 million bond. Prosecutors say Jordan fired the shot that killed Jam Master Jay at the Run-DMC DJ’s recording studio in Queens on October 30, 2002.

Jordan’s been locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in August 2020. His attorneys said 16 people helped him come up with the proposed $1 million.

The 38-year-old suspect’s legal team argued he’s at risk of catching COVID-19 while incarcerated because he only has one kidney. Jordan suggested wearing a monitoring device and staying in home detention as an alternative to remaining in jail until his trial.

U.S. District Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall dismissed the COVID-19 risk argument, denying his request for bail. But Hall also scoffed at the prosecution citing Jordan’s rap lyrics as evidence for why he should remain behind bars.

Jam Master Jay’s murder remained unsolved for almost two decades. Jordan and another man, Ronald Washington, were charged for their alleged roles in the DJ’s death in 2020.

Prosecutors claim Jam Master Jay, whose real name was Jason Mizell, was killed over a cocaine deal gone wrong. Jordan and Washington were indicted on murder, firearms and drug charges.

Jordan faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted of murder. His trial is scheduled for February 2023.

Boosie On Harsh NBA YoungBoy Lyrics: He Hurt My Feelings”

Regardless, of the circumstances a confident man speaks his truth. Boosie Bad Azz is no different. Recently, Boosie addresses some controversial NBA YoungBoy lyrics. As a matter of fact, he authentically offers, “he hurt my feelings.”

First of all, both of these men are lauded artists. However, their relationship is more that just a working one. So, Top poetically waxes about his disappointment with the “Like A Man” MC.

At times, the booth transforms into a cathartic vessel. In fact, on “I Hate YoungBoy” Lil Top gives voice to his angst. He raps, “Feel like Boosie don’t even like me, b*tch, don’t call my phone (F*ck you).”

Of course, the “Betrayed” MC learns of the caustic endeavor. So, yesterday (March 2), he shares his thoughts. His new track, “I Don’t Call Phones I Call Shots,” offers his perspective.

Needless to say, the established entrepreneur is gifted in sharing both his thoughts and his experiences. Be that as it may, Boosie Boo opens up even more.

So, today (March 3), via the VladTv IG page, Boosie breaks it all the way down. The rather annoyed movie star gives his stance.

In other words, exasperation grips his features. “He said what he said; I said what I said. I don’t want to pop his top,” says the BR wordsmith. Moreover, he adds, “Real sh*t. I don’t want to pop his top. He said what he said, I said what I said. I ain’t speaking no more on it.”

Soon, he reaches the crux of the issue. Then Lil Boosie contends, “He p##### me off though. N*gga hurt my feelings. I thought that was my little dog, f*ck it,” he begrudgingly declares.

Memorial To Young Dolph Soon To Be Removed With Family’s Blessing

After almost four months, the memorial to slain rapper Young Dolph outside of the Makeba’s Homemade Cookies in Memphis, TN, will soon be taken down.

According to WMC 5, the family that owns the bakery has been in communication with the artist’s family to get their blessing before removing the memorial and they have consented.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, the “Foreva” rapper was gunned down in front of his favorite cookie shop on Nov. 17, 2021. Five men are suspects in his murder, with one still on the run.

Immediately after the drive-by killing, one that shattered the front window of the shop, business started to slow up for the family ran-establishment, driving them to board up the place and operate their sales online.

Family, friends, and fans have traveled to the shop to pay tribute to their beloved artist by leaving flowers, balloons, candles, and teddy bears. During the Christmas holiday, someone even left a decorated tree at the make-shift tribute. Media outlets have also made their way to the store, recording updates on the police’s efforts to find the murder suspects of the celebrity.

For the family that owns the bakery, Young Dolph was more than a celebrity. He was family, also.

After the murder, Raven Winton, the daughters of Pamela and Maurice Hill, the founding owners, shared that it’s “been a challenge” for them.

“Please pray for his family,” she stated on Nov. 20. “That’s just unreal to me. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through.”

“He was family to us. Every time we saw him, we didn’t treat him like a rap star, a rap artist. we weren’t trying to get autographs. Hey, it was basically…What’s up, Dolph,” she said.

“That man did not deserve that. He was just in there to buy cookies for his family. It’s terrible that we can’t even step outside of our house and feel comfortable in the neighborhood that he knew and loved and supported.”

“Young Dolph’s wife, she’s supported us. We appreciate that. She’s backing us saying he enjoyed the cookies and was there to pick up cookies for us all the time.”

The Black-owned business has had a difficult season, experiencing financial trouble since the onset of the COVID-19 virus (and people not eating out as much) and the fatal shooting. In November, the owners had to start a GoFundMe for support, after their application for an insurance claim was denied.

No date has been determined when the memorial will be removed.

Musical Artist Ludaca Is Unafraid To Wear His Heart On His Sleeve In New Single “Algo Se Desdibuja”

As is often the case with many of the best vocalists (and artists in general), honest music often stems from difficult moments in our lives. Our experiences through life can propel our artistic efforts in a vulnerable way that reflects our creative output.  It’s safe to say that sincere lyricism is what will most likely turn a listener into a fan––this is exactly what rising artist Ludaca executes so well in his authentic piece “Algo Se Desdibuja”

This song is perfect to accompany our grey days. It warms our hearts and comforts our souls.

Performed in Spanish, ‘ALGO SE DESDIBUJA’ has a certain magic in it that transports the audience into an ocean of emotion. Ludaca has an excellent voice. His delivery is casual, yet he has a natural gift for timing. The lyrics are mostly in Spanish and roll beautifully from start to finish. Featuring a sweet summertime melody. The subtle sonorities highlight Ludaca’s unique artistic personality.

The song is a combination of the experimental rhythm and catchy melodies that creates an uplifting atmosphere, while the emotive and cinematic delivery is relatable and heartfelt. Fading to the raw roots of the song with the rhythm section, ‘ALGO SE DESDIBUJA’ comes full circle, ending just as it began.

Honestly, we were surprised and amazed by the vocals melodies, and artistic research. Ludaca delivers professional, creative, and really special work. The musical side is enjoyable and engaging. ALGO SE DESDIBUJA is genuinely original, and I think the world is destined to be hearing a lot more about this artist in the years ahead. Don’t miss out on this fantastic release coming March!

YFN Lucci Says He Was Stabbed In Jail, Seeks Release As He Awaits Trial

YFN Lucci asked a judge to release him on bond after he was allegedly stabbed in jail.

According to TMZ, YFN Lucci claims he was stabbed by another inmate at the Fulton County Jail in February. The platinum-selling artist is currently behind bars awaiting trial for multiple charges, including murder.

The incarcerated rapper, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, heard there may be a bounty out for him in the jail. He believes his life will be in danger if remains in custody until his trial.

The stabbing allegedly occurred on February 9. YFN Lucci says he was on a video call when an inmate came up behind him and stabbed him with a shank.

With a murder charge looming, YFN Lucci isn’t expecting to get out of jail without some conditions. He’s willing to stay in home confinement and wear a monitoring device if the judge grants his bond.

The Atlanta native has been accused of racketeering, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and violating anti-gang law. Authorities say he was involved in the 2020 shooting death of 28-year-old James Adams.

YFN Lucci maintains his innocence. His trial is scheduled to begin in May.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Request To End Supervised Release Gets Denied

A Manhattan judge has denied rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s request to end his supervised release.

Federal Judge Paul Engelmayer, according to the Daily News, stated that he would not agree to the early termination of the Brooklyn rapper’s five-year term for a few reasons. One of them is that he did not do community service.

He wrote, “Particularly in light of Mr. Hernandez’s alarming, violent and diverse history of crimes and other anti-social conduct, his history of surrounding himself with criminal elements, his youth, his tendency to impulsive action, and other aspects of his personal history, the court judged these interests as weighty.”

The issue of the “GOOBA” artist’s community service was addressed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Longyear, who noted in a letter to the court, that Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, only completed 10 of his required 300 hours of community service. His team said that he didn’t do them because of “security concerns.”

His lawyer Lance Lazzaro said, “The truth is, even without supervised release, Mr. Hernandez seems to be monitored by the media and the public every time he ventures out into public.”

“While I do not believe it will happen, if Mr. Hernandez were to commit a crime in the future,” Lazzaro continued. “It seems safe to say that his illegal act would be caught in some way by the media or someone in public with a camera on his phone.”

He also added that the concern has been principally raised by the Probation Department, who told them that to have the artist do community service could be dangerous.

The judge was not having it.

He said, “Although security concerns arising from Mr. Hernandez’s celebrity and well-publicized cooperation with law enforcement assuredly closed off some avenues of potential community service, the court is unpersuaded that no such avenues remain open — as reflected in the fact that Mr. Hernandez has already performed some such service.”

But the judge did celebrate the rainbow-haired rapper for not getting into trouble in almost two years.

Behaving well or not, he said, that he “cannot be divorced from the fact that he has been under judicial supervision.”

“Although the court is hopeful that Mr. Hernandez’s choice since his release to abide by the law reflects a durably matured internal compass,” Engelmayer stated. “The court cannot be fully confident that, freed of judicial supervision, he would not lapse.”

He also said that he knows that there are other forms of community service that he can complete that will not put the rapper in danger.

50 Cent Sparks Bidding War After Threatening To Leave Starz

50 Cent threatened to walk away from his overall deal with cable network Starz in a series of Instagram posts and now other networks are after his hit TV shows.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, recently uploaded a video clip of a man packing a bag to his page and declared that he was “out” of his deal with the cable network, for whom he has produced the “Power” TV series and its current spin-offs “Ghost,” “Raising Kanan,” and “Force.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CakrXjKOHW2/?utm_medium=copy_link

In the caption, he vented his frustration that Starz executives haven’t renewed “Force” for a second season yet, despite its premiere setting a ratings record for the network when it launched in February.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ,” he wrote. “Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest-rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb s### I deal with over here,” with a facepalm emoji.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cako7e_ucNj/?utm_medium=copy_link

Alongside further photos of luggage, he added, “Hold my calls i’m traveling, getting the fk away from STARZ” and “We are out of here, take that fking sign off the door no more G-unit film and television over here.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper’s current overall deal with Starz expires in September and officials are in the middle of negotiating a new deal for him to remain with the company.

However, sources told the publication that Jackson has received calls from studios and streamers about signing deals with them instead.

Outside of the “Power” shows, Jackson has also produced crime series “BMF” and is developing the hip-hop true crime anthology show, “A Moment in Time,” via his G-Unit Film and TV banner.

Latto Blasts Body Shamers And Threatens To Post Their Pics!

Recently, the “Big Energy” rapper vents her frustration. Back, on Tuesday (March 1), she candidly shares her thoughts. In fact, Latto blasts body shamers and threatens to post their pics!

From time to time, artists will boldly push past pleasantries. Rather, than ignoring, or redirecting negative comments, Big Latto is matching energy. As a matter of fact she does this very well. After, posting a TikTok video, the bootylicious babe encounters harsh criticism.

The Critique.

As All Access Media, reports concerned social media users openly dissect Latto’s derrière. For example, someone alleges that Ms. “No Hook” sports a “melting” BBL. While, another person mentions, “So this what it look 👀 like without the filter. Additionally, another individual likens her behind to the shape of an “airpod.”

Be that as it may, at 23, her self-assuredness is palpable. Instead of internalizing the hate, the “In n Out” spitter is clapping back. Yes, this is demonstrated both literally and figuratively.

The Reaction.

In fact, the charitable entertainer takes the time. She politely checks the caustic critics. A video montage uploaded to her IG stories speaks her truth. There, within the fifth clip, the “Muwop” rhymer unleashes her angst.

“Yeah last video DONT ever play w me,” she warns. Next, she gives the confident internet ogres a tip. “cause when I post y’all Ugly — insecure — internet trolls & see what the ppl got to say about y’all,” she adds, “u gone be crying & deleting that INSTAGRAM ACCT!”

Kanye’s Hidden Hills Home Broken Into On The Same Day Judge Declares Kim Kardashian Legally Single

Rapper Kanye West’s Hidden Hills home was broken into on Wednesday, March 2nd in the afternoon.

According to The Blast, this is the same $4.5 million home located across the street from the house he purchased with his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian when they were still married. She and their four children still live in the home, despite the couple undergoing a cumbersome divorce.

The outlet says that after breaking into the home, the person went live on social media. Fans and friends who caught the Instagram live notified Yeezy that a trespasser was in his home. Law enforcement was called to check in on the property.

The “Donda” rapper was not present at his home during the break-in, he was in Miami with friends. Reports say that he was with Tristan Thompson (his used-to-be sort of brother in love), before going to the scheduled virtual hearing to determine Kimye’s official marital status.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, a hearing was held on the same day as the break-in to finalize the status portion of the couple’s divorce. Kim had expressed several times that she desperately wanted to be divorced and wanted a judge to redeem her single status.

Kanye, who has recently obtained new divorce lawyers, doesn’t want to divorce and hoped that he and his wife could restore their family.

Kim has moved on and is now dating Pete Davidson.

Judge Gives NBA YoungBoy A Huge Victory In Federal Case

Troubled rapper NBA YoungBoy may have scored a small victory in his upcoming federal firearms case.

The court has agreed to suppress footage from the set of one of his music videos that shows him in possession of a gun.

The judge said the reason why she decided against allowing it is because the prosecution did not provide an “indication” that “the camera contained evidence of crimes.”

The Advocate reported that Louisiana native, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden has been accused of illegally possessing guns in Baton Rouge in September 2020 and in Los Angeles last March.

The federal weapons case is related to his Sept. 28, 2020, arrest on Chippewa Street. The artist, his team and his entourage (a total of 15 other people outside of him) were arrested during a video shoot without permit on a vacant lot.

After a Baton Rouge federal grand jury indicted him for possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of a firearm not registered to him in a federal database last March, his legal team moved to video of two guns found on the scene of the crime.

The rapper was caught brandishing a gun and prosecutors caught him in the act on video. A gun was also found in an Acura sport utility vehicle at the scene.

In addition to having the videos suppressed, the artist’s team wants the guns not allowed as evidence either.

In addition to having the videos suppressed, the artist’s team wants the guns not allowed as evidence either.

The Chief U.S. District Judge in Baton Rouge assigned to the case is Shelly Dick.

Dick gave a split decision on Thursday, Feb. 24 regarding what video footage can be played, what will not, what guns will be admissible as evidence and explained his reasoning why.

She said that the guns found on the scene had to be used as evidence in the case but agreed to suppress footage from the cameraman’s video camera that has the artist with the weapons … because … he was shooting a video and puts in to question ownership and use.

The judge said in a 48-page ruling, “when a camera is found at the scene of a suspected possession crime, but it is unknown which of several suspects possessed the contraband, is there probable cause to search the camera for photographic evidence of who possessed the contraband?”

She continued, “In this case, the question is narrowed because the … affidavit contains nothing to indicate that the camera contained evidence of crimes.”

“The mere fact that a camera was recovered at the scene of an arrest does not generate a ‘substantial probability that evidence of a crime will be on that camera,” Dick said about the decision. “Additionally, without an allegation that the camera was in use when the alleged crimes occurred, the assertion that the camera contained evidence is purely speculative.”

She asserted that the federal prosecution needed to show probable cause to use the video.

“These facts,” she said. “Would open the door to law enforcement searches of media on a cell phone whenever a cell phone is found at the scene of an arrest solely on the basis that a cell phone was found.”

“The fact that an arrestee possessed a device capable of capturing photographs and videos at the time of his arrest cannot, in the absence of other facts, generate probable cause to search that device,” she said.

Now the prosecution has to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that NBA YoungBoy possessed the firearms found on the camera and in the car without using the video.

NBA YoungBoy is one lucky guy.

In addition to this break, after being arrested, AllHipHop.com reports that he has been placed on house arrest in Utah, a place of his choosing. And he has done well with his music. His most recent album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard charts when it was released in October. It received the honor by streaming close to 186 million times and selling about 10,000 copies.

This story is developing.

Tech N9ne Is The Highest Paid Independent Artist of 2021!

Overall, more than thirty years are invested into his craft. So, longevity continues to smile upon Aaron Yates. In fact, he makes the Cash Kings List. Of course, Tech N9ne is the highest paid independent artist of 2021!

After all, the former Forbes editor, Zack O’Malley Greenburg, is responsible for creating the “Hip Hop Cash Kings” list. Recently, he pivots and releases the highest-paid rappers of 2021. So now, his website, Zogblog, affirms Tecca Nina’s stunning accomplishment.

Generally speaking, Hip-Hop is the United States most popular musical genre. Moreover, its demand roughly equates to the combined popularity of Country and Rock music, as reports MRC Data. All things considered, Mr. K.C., MO is putting on for his city.

Regardless, of the pandemic’s financial strain, the Everready MC proves that he understands how to generate and to sustain wealth. So, as an astute lyricist and a shrewd businessman, he is winning. Needless to say, the “previously unreported digital-only catalog deal that added eight figures,” soundly secures his entrenched standing.

Although, he embraces the Indie grind, the Strange Music boss ties with two other major label artists. Accordingly, in 2021, Birdman, Doja Cat and the platinum wordsmith each respectively earns $25 million. As can be seen, the ASIN9NE entertainer is worth his weight in lyrics.

Mr. Yates’ Accomplishment.

10. Tech N9ne — $25 million

10. Birdman — $25 million

Drake Reacts To 2021 Highest-Paid Hip Hop Artists List

Former Forbes Senior Editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg released his rankings of the highest-paid Hip Hop artists for 2021. The Substack contributor listed Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter ($470 million), Kanye “Ye” West ($250 million), Sean “Diddy” Combs ($75 million), and Aubrey Drake Graham ($50 million) as the leaders of the pack.

O’Malley’s Zogblog newsletter got picked up by other outlets, including the Boardroom. Drake jumped into the sports business publication’s Instagram comment section to share his reaction to the estimated financial hierarchy.

The Certified Lover Boy album creator did not write any actual words under the Boardroom Instagram post. Champagne Papi simply left a single “😂” emoji which collected more than 1,100 likes from other IG users.

Zack O’Malley Greenburg spent over ten years at Forbes before launching his Zogblog in April 2021. The author of the Jay-Z biography, Empire State of Mind, previously curated the annual “Highest-Paid Hip Hop Acts” column for the century-old business magazine.

According to Vibe, Wiz Khalifa ($45 million) made O’Malley’s Top 5 too. The rest of rap’s leading earners reportedly include Travis Scott ($38 million), DJ Khaled ($35 million), Eminem ($28 million), J. Cole ($27 million), Birdman ($25 million), Doja Cat ($25 million), and Tech N9ne ($25 million).

Zack O’Malley Greenburg’s calculations differ from numbers presented by Forbes. A February 9 article written by Lisette Voytko approximated Jay-Z’s 2021 income at $340 million not $470 million, Kanye West’s income at $235 million not $250 million, and Diddy’s income at $90 million not $75 million.

Doja Cat & Normani Hint At Possible Collaboration

Last night, Billboard magazine held its annual Women in Music ceremony. Normani was on hand to present Doja Cat with the Powerhouse Award.

Billboard‘s Chelsea Briggs caught up with Normani before the show, and the R&B songstress spoke about her appreciation for Doja Cat. The pink carpet moment also included Doja cordially crashing the interview.

“I’m just going to put it out there. I think you guys should do a collab together,” suggested Chelsea Briggs. Normani responded, “We’ve talked about it.” Doja Cat added, “We should.”

Both Doja Cat and Normani released successful all-female collaborations in 2021. Doja teamed up with Top Dawg Entertainment singer SZA for the Grammy-nominated “Kiss Me More.”

Normani tapped Hip Hop superstar Cardi B for a feature on “Wild Side.” That Hot 100 Top 20 hit earned wins at the UK Music Video Awards (Best R&B/Soul Video – International) and the Soul Train Music Awards (Best Dance Performance).

Doja Cat recently partnered with California rapper Tyga for the “Freaky Deaky” music video. Normani is presently promoting the release of her forthcoming track “Fair” which will arrive on March 18.

Trippie Redd: I Signed A $30 Million Deal With Elliot Grainge’s Label

Last year, Quantum PFS announced an exclusive global licensing deal with Trippie Redd. Snapchat also partnered with the “Dark Knight Dummo” performer for the Life’s A Tripp docuseries.

It appears Trippie Redd recently inked another big deal. The Ohio-raised rapper announced a new contract with 10K Projects founder Elliot Grainge.

“Just signed to @elliot for 30 million. 🤍 Now it’s time to start [dropping A Love Letter to You 5] songs,” wrote Trippie Redd on Instagram. According to the 22-year-old Midwesterner, the agreement with Grainge does not include touring, merchandise, or sponsorships.

Trippie Redd released A Love Letter to You in 2017. The most recent installment in the series, A Love Letter to You 4, came out in 2019. That commercial mixtape debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 104,000 first-week units, giving Trippie his first #1 on the chart.

Last August, Trippie Redd scored his sixth consecutive Top 5 entry on the Billboard 200. 2021’s Trip at Knight opened at #2 by collecting 81,000 equivalent album units in its first seven days.

In addition, Trippie informed his Instagram followers that he is reportedly pulling in $250,000 to $400,000 per live show. His “Trip At Knight Tour” kicked off in 2021 and continues through July in Oslo, Norway.

Elliot Grainge, son of Universal Music Group CEO/Chairman Lucian Grainge, founded 10K Projects in 2016. The record label is also home to Iann Dior, Internet Money, Lil Boom, and other acts.
