Diddy Accuser’s Lawyer Brags About 10 Meetings With Prosecutors & Warns Of Superseding Indictment

Universal Music Group and Motown Records sought sanctions against Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney behind Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy, at a hearing on Wednesday (October 16). UMG and Motown’s lawyers told a judge Blackburn needed to be sanctioned to stop others from filing “baseless” claims against the labels.

Blackburn warned the labels about getting ahead of themselves at the hearing. He suggested their executives may get named in a superseding indictment of Diddy.

“I would be really slow to spike the football,” Blackburn declared, per Courthouse News.

Lil Rod sued Diddy for sexual assault, among other allegations, in February. UMG CEO Lucian Grainge and Motown CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam were named as defendants in the lawsuit. Lil Rod, whose real name is Rodney Jones, implicated the executives in Diddy’s racketeering enterprise.

Diddy was indicted for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution in September. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors hinted at filing more charges on October 10. Blackburn said he was meeting with the prosecution for a 10th time for what he believed would be a superseding indictment.

UMG and Motown’s lawyers pursued sanctions against Blackburn before Diddy was indicted. Attorneys claimed Lil Rod’s allegations regarding Grainge and the labels were “objectively false” in May.

“The facts here compellingly cry out for sanctions,” the lawyers argued. “Not only is Blackburn’s conduct part of a consistent pattern of behavior, but he has used the outrageous allegations he pleads to self-promote on social media … Sir Lucian Grainge has had his reputation sullied by absolutely false accusations, which Plaintiff and Blackburn either knew were false or simply did not care whether they were true or false.”

Diddy has remained in jail since his arrest. He was denied bail but filed an appeal. His trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.

Fat Joe Reveals Why He Got Involved In Politics Knowing He’d “Alienate” Some Fans

Fat Joe recognized why many celebrities avoid endorsing political candidates. The Terror Squad rapper said he doesn’t knock public figures who stay silent while discussing his decision to become more involved in politics on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

“I don’t blame ‘em,” Fat Joe told host Shannon Sharpe. “It’s hard for a celebrity. I never understood why celebrities never speak their mind, but now I do. Because you alienate—you know the minute I go, ‘I’m for Kamala Harris,’ everybody who loves Trump is like, ‘F### you Fat Joe’ … It’s real like that. And vice versa. If you for Trump, we hate you.”

Fat Joe took an active interest in politics to fight for price transparency in the U.S. healthcare system. He became an ambassador for the nonprofit Power to the Patients in 2021.

“I became a big voice for that, which has been a hard thing to do,” he said. “Because we keep going to Washington and trying to get it done and it’s been the hardest thing. It’s been one of the biggest challenges of my life, but I love it. When I walk through the airport, random people come up to me and say, ‘Yo, Joe, thank you [for] what you doing.’ And I’m like thinking about music or whatever. He’s like, ‘Nah, man. The biggest thing you doing is fighting for the people with the healthcare price transparency.’ So, I’m proud of what I’m doing.”

Fat Joe vowed to push for healthcare price transparency no matter who wins the election, but he has thrown his support behind Vice President Harris. Earlier this year, he assured fans he wasn’t voting for Trump after acquiring a pair of the former president’s gold “Never Surrender” sneakers. Fat Joe said he only got the shoes because he’s a sneaker collector.

Tyler, The Creator Has Fans Buzzing Over Return To Music

Tyler, the Creator released a brief song and music video titled “St. Chroma” on Wednesday (October 16). The video included a teaser for Chromakopia, which is speculated to be his next album.

“St. Chroma” featured whispered raps and soulful vocals. The video showed a masked man – presumably Tyler, the Creator – leading a group of marchers in a deserted area. The visuals concluded with a huge explosion as the screen changed from black-and-white to color.

Fans assumed “St. Chroma” was beginning the rollout for Tyler’s Chromakopia. He hasn’t released a studio album since 2021’s Call Me If You Get Lost.

Tyler dropped the teaser roughly a week after complaining about fans constantly demanding a new album. He shared his feelings in reaction to his collaborator Steve Lacy voicing the same frustrations on social media.

”I feel you s### is annoying,” Tyler wrote to Lacy. “Especially when I never said out my mouth that an album is coming. I wanna be an actress lmfao.”

Tyler will fulfill his acting dream as he recently landed his first feature film role. The acclaimed rapper/producer will appear in the upcoming A24-produced movie Marty Supreme starring Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow. Uncut Gems filmmaker Josh Safdie is directing the film.

Aoki Lee Simmons Calls For Diddy’s Kids To Be Treated With Respect

Aoki Lee Simmons, the daughter of Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons, is speaking out on behalf of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children, calling for the siblings to be treated with love and respect amid their father’s mounting legal woes.

As the daughter of famous parents, Simmons understands what it’s like to be under the spotlight when they’re in the news. During a recent Instagram Live, Simmons called for the Combs children to be treated with love and respect.

“I think his daughters and children are such wonderful people,” she replied when a person in the chat asked her thoughts on Diddy’s case. “I really hope you guys treat them with love and respect, ’cuz they’re nice kids.”

Simmons continued, noting that children shouldn’t be blamed for their parents’ actions.

“It’s not their fault,” she added. “Anything adults, that’s adult business and they are not adults.

Referring to Diddy’s children as “My little cousins” she added, “They are in school. They are not adults so please treat them like children. That’s all I ask.”

Earlier this week, Diddy wished his daughter a happy birthday on social media, posting for the first time since his September 2024 arrest.

“Happy Birthday to you!” he wrote alongside several photos of the little girl.

DJ Clark Kent Is Very Much Alive DJ Scratch Confirms

DJ Clark Kent was the victim of a death rumor that started making the rounds on social media Tuesday night (October 15). Fans and media began picking up the narrative that the iconic DJ, producer and renowned sneaker head had passed away following an undisclosed illness.

But according to DJ Scratch, Clark Kent is very much alive, although it’s unclear what his medical situation is. On Wednesday (October 16), the EPMD legend took to Instagram to clear up the vicious rumor. He wrote in all caps, “DJ CLARK KENT HAS NOT PASSED AWAY,” he wrote. “STOP TRAUMATIZING HIS FAMILY POSTING THAT HE PASSED!!”

Veteran radio personality Angie Martinez later confirmed DJ Clark Kent was at home—not in hospice like others suggested.

“The article that The Source Mag & others have posted about the passing of Dj Clark Kent is false,” she tweeted. “Clark is home with his family. Please refrain from sharing any other false information. It is hurtful, deeply irresponsible and untrue.”

Fans of DJ Clark Kent were noticeably upset by the notion he was dead. Tweets like, “There’s news going around stating that the legendary DJ Clark Kent has passed away, well that news is extremely fake and it’s disgusting to create a hoax like that” and “I’m not the biggest fan of DJ Clark Kent or his music takes, but lying on the man’s name with a death hoax is some Ho ass bag of sow m##### behavior. Whoever’s responsible needs their a#### whipped ROYALLY. F y’all.”

Others took a more remorseful approach and simply apologized for spreading misinformation.

DJ Clark Kent, born Rodolfo Franklin in Panama, played a significant role in shaping the careers of major artists, including JAY-Z. He’s often credited with discovering the Roc-A-Fella co-founder. He also produced tracks on JAY-Z’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt, including the hit “Brooklyn’s Finest” featuring The Notorious B.I.G. Beyond music, DJ Clark Kent is also a well-known figure in sneaker culture. He’s a dedicated sneakerhead, often collaborating with brands like Nike on exclusive shoe releases.

Nicki Minaj’s Wild Reaction To Historic BET Hip Hop Awards Win Following 2019 Controversy

Nicki Minaj scored a historic win at the BET Hip Hop Awards, taking home Hip Hop Album of the Year for Pink Friday 2, but her reaction was anything but celebratory.

The awards show was recorded on October 8 but aired on Tuesday (October 15). Nicki Minaj scooped a major victory in a category hotly contested by 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla and Drake.

The win marked the first time a solo female artist has won Album of the Year in BET Hip Hop Awards history.

However, Nicki Minaj was clearly unimpressed. She shared her reaction to the award on Twitter (X), posting one of her much-loved memes featuring Chucky from the solo Child’s Play franchise biting on a woman’s arm.

Nicki Minaj has a complicated history with the BET Hip Hop Awards. After going on an astonishing run and winning the BET Award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist for seven consecutive years from 2010 through 2016, everything changed just a few years later.

Nicki Minaj Cancels BET Performance Over Cardi B Shade

In February 2019, Minaj abruptly canceled her performance at the BET Experience music festival. She announced neither she nor the rest of Young Money would perform in response to BET’s shady tweet celebrating rival Cardi B’s Grammys win.

“Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront,” the tweet read.  Although the network later deleted the post, the damage was done.

“Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show,” she tweeted. “Summer Tour dates dropping soon.”

Then, several months later, Nicki Minaj called out BET, reacting to a tweet claiming the 2019 BET Awards Show drew just 2 million viewers. She said the BET Awards would “rather be a messy reality show than a prestigious award show.” She also referenced the network’s since-deleted Cardi B tweet. “Ur still being dragged by that lace,” she added.

Beyoncé Announces Her 2024 Woman Of The Year

Beyoncé has announced her 2024 Woman of the Year (WOTY), with more than three months to go before the year-end.

While the 43-year-old global sensation never shies away from giving other women their flowers, this year, Beyoncé is feeling braggadocios, giving herself a part on the back and claiming the WOTY title for herself.

On Tuesday evening (October 15), Beyoncé shared ” My WOTY” with her 314 million Instagram photos, posting a carousel of images of herself.

Beyoncé WOTY Claim Backed By Peers

Despite her previous beef with The BeyHive, Erykah Badu showed love to Beyoncé in the comment section. “Go off got damn it then,” she noted, while SZA added, “Fit is fire.”

Beyoncé’s sister Solange also expressed her approval at the title, writing, “EXACTLY SIS !”

2024 has been a hugely successful year for Beyoncé, making history and breaking down barriers with her Cowboy Carter album.

“Texas Hold ‘Em,” topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 10 consecutive weeks, marking the second longest-running No. 1 hit of 2024 and becoming the first Black woman to ever do so.

Cowboy Carter was equally impactful, leading Billboard’s country album chart for four weeks. Again, this marked the first time a Black woman achieved the feat.

While the CMAs snubbed Beyoncé, failing to give her a single nomination despite her historic accomplishments, other award shows recognized the feat. Beyoncé was the second most-nominated artist at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, with 12 nods.

iHeartRadio honored Bey with the prestigious Innovator Award, presented by Stevie Wonder.

“Beyoncé is once again changing music and culture,” the music legend said of her album. “And when she’s not changing music, she’s changing the world, fighting the good fight.”

Beyond music, Beyoncé’s business acumen also shone in 2024. She launched the Award-winning SIRDavis whiskey brand and her Cécred haircare line. She also permitted Vice President Kamala Harris to use her single “Freedom” in her campaign to be the first woman U.S. President.

While she crowned herself the 2024 WOTY, Beyoncé shared her admiration for her female peers during a recent interview.

“I love and respect all of the female singers-songwriters who are out right now,” she revealed last month, naming Doechii and GloRilla as two rappers she loves. Raye, Victoria Monét, Sasha Keable, Chloe x Halle, and Reneé Rapp also got a mention as did Sabrina Carpenter, Thee Sacred Souls and Chappell Roan.

JAY-Z  & NFL Extend Partnership Despite Super Bowl 2025 Controversy

JAY-Z and Roc Nation’s deal with the NFL to produce the Super Bowl Halftime Show will continue, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has confirmed.

Goodell addressed the partnership during the NFL annual owners meeting in Atlanta on Tuesday (October 15), per Bloomberg.

The NFL Commissioner said his relationship with JAY-Z, Roc Nation and its chief executive officer, Desiree Perez, has been “mutually positive,” and that all parties are content.

“I’m not sure either one of us really spend much time talking about contracts,” Goodell added. “Jay is happy. Desiree Perez is happy. I’m happy, so we’re all good.”

While the previous five-year deal, signed in 2019, was worth $25 million, according to ESPN, the terms of the new contract have not been publicized.

JAY-Z and Roc Nation’s involvement in the Super Bowl Halftime View has led to a dramatic uptick in viewership.

The 2022 Halftime Show in Las Angeles, featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige, drew an audience of 103.4 million viewers—up from the 96.7 million viewers who tuned in the previous year.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s 2023 performance was one of the most-watched Super Bowl Halftime shows of all time, amassing 118.7 million viewers.

Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans following a year in which he dominated the Hip-Hop conversation. The decision proved controversial, with passionate support for Lil Wayne to perform in his hometown. Hov faced criticism over the selection, although his defenders claimed it was not his decision.

However, Super Bowl Halftime Show 2025 producer Jesse Collins seemingly confirmed that JAY-Z has the final say.

NFL team owners voted for Atlanta to host the Super Bowl in 2028, marking the fourth time the Big Game is played at the home of the Falcons.

Rick Ross’ New Boo Shuts Down Trolls Claiming She Won’t Last 90 Days With Rapper

Rick Ross recently debuted his new girlfriend, and the haters are already predicting the end of their romance.

Earlier this week, Rozay’s new girlfriend, Justice Williams, posted her man on Instagram, showing off the diamond necklace he bought her. The new couple appeared to have been joined at the hip since, enjoying dates at the zoo and lounging poolside at Ross’ Promise Land mansion.

On Tuesday (October 15), Williams hopped on Instagram Live, where she faced some negative comments.

“Let me explain something to y’all,” she replied to trolls in the chat. “There’s nothing wrong with being something of your own, but also coming into a different territory of a completely different bracket.”

After claiming “God” and “divine timing” placed her in this position, Williams insisted she would never “change for anyone for anything for any clout,” before alluding to Rozay’s past relationships.

Rick Ross’ New Girlfriend Believes They Will Outlast Haters Predictions

“I would be crazy to judge a person based on who a person was to someone else. That’s not me. I’m not judging no one based on their past relations ‘cuz I know everybody is not replaceable,’ she continued, “It takes the right person. A person can change someone, okay. Let’s be very clear.”

Williams added, “If he wants to, he will, if he doesn’t, he won’t,” before beating on her chest saying, “‘Cuz me … I’m protected. I can’t protect what’s going to happen, though. It’s what God says.”

She then responded to the doubters in the chat who said the romance won’t last.

“Like y’all said, if I’m here for 30, 60, 90 days, then so be it,” Williams said. “But when I’m here past 30, 60, 90 days, I want everybody to go buy me some type of electronic. Y’all owe me.”

Williams urged viewers to “mind your business, enjoy life,” and stop worrying about others. She said that sitting on the internet all day obsessing over the lives of others says a lot about a person’s character. “You’re insane,” she added. You’re crazy like you’re miserable.”

Meanwhile, like Williams, Rick Ross’ former girlfriend, Cristina Mackey, recently claimed God placed her with the rapper as part of a divine plan.

Erica Mena Puts Safaree On Blast After He Files To Lower Child Support

Safaree and Erica Mena’s custody drama just got even messier after the reality TV star put her ex-husband on blast for allegedly leaking court documents and rarely seeing his children.

On Tuesday (October 14), In Touch reported that Safaree petitioned to lower his child support payments in June 2023. He claimed he could no longer afford the $4,305 monthly payment agreed in the 2022 divorce settlement. Per the court documents, the arrangement was based on his $61,157 monthly income and Mena’s monthly earnings of $41,289.

However, Safaree claims there has since been a “significant change” to the shared custody arrangement. In his filing, Safaree claimed he no longer earns $61,000 monthly as “he is no longer a full- time talent on Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta.”

Further, his lawyers argued Safaree suffered a “significant loss of income” because of Erica Mena, accusing his ex-wife of a six-month-long “extensive public disparagement campaign against” him on social media.

In his filing, Safaree claimed Mena publicly referred to him as a “deadbeat” and “attacked his parenting skills without reason.” He also claimed she harassed potential co-workers with false allegations against him and has turned his largely female fanbase against him with her claims.

Safaree claims Mena’s actions led to a drop in income while Mena’s earnings have increased. He requested that she pay his legal fees.

Additionally, Safaree’s lawyers claimed he had the children for more than the prescribed 12 days, stating he’s had the children in “his physical custody on average 3-4 weeks consistently during his time.”

Erica Mena Claps Back At Safaree

However, Erica Mena fired back with a calendar alleging Safaree only saw his children on 16 occasions this year.

“Mom is yellow. “Dad” is orange,” she captioned her since-deleted post shared by The Neighborhood Talk.

Mena also slammed Safaree in her Instagram Story, accusing him of leaking the court papers for attention.

Kendrick Lamar triumphed at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards, walking away with a whopping eight wins.

The celebrated West Coast MC was nominated in 11 categories, many of them for his Drake diss “Not Like Us.” While K. Dot wasn’t at the ceremony, hosted by Fat Joe and held on October 8, but aired on Tuesday (October 15), he was the night’s biggest winner.

Lamar scored a total of eight awards, scooping many of the major categories including Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Lyricist of the Year.

Additionally, K. Dot and collaborator/pgLang co-founder Dave Free were rewarded for the detailed work on the “Not Like Us” visuals earning joint Video Director of the Year trophies.

He faced stiff competition for Artist of the Year, going up against the likes of Drake, 21 Savage, Cardi B, Future, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj.

He also scored wins for his appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” besting the competitors in the Best Collaboration and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse categories.

Unsurprisingly Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like That” won Impact Song of the Year. The track etched a place in the record books with an unprecedented 22nd week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.

Kendrick Lamar Rumored To Be Working On New Album

While Kendrick Lamar has been relatively silent in the aftermath of his battle with Drake, the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show announcement notwithstanding, he’s rumored to be working on a new album.

According to Lamar collaborator and TDE affiliate Devin Malik, K. Dot is crafting the follow-up to 2022’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. He recently tweeted a clip of him and Dot at the Ken & Friends concert in June. “Mood cause new k dot album otwwww,” he wrote, ramping up anticipation for the potential project.

Diddy Accused Of Brutal Gang Rape In Retaliation For Tupac Shakur Murder Accusation

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing disturbing claims in a new lawsuit from a woman claiming the embattled mogul violated her with a TV remote before he and his associates brutally gang-raped her because she implied the Bad Boy Records founder was involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur.

TMZ reports a woman named Ashley Parham claims she was introduced to Diddy in 2018 over a FaceTime call by a man she met at the bar. She was unimpressed by the famous rapper and accused him of involvement in Tupac’s death.

Parham alleged Diddy told her she would “pay” for her remarks and followed through with his threat a month later after their mutual acquaintance invited her to his home in Orinda, California.

Parham recalled a horrific encounter, which she claims began with Diddy holding a knife to her face and threatening to cut her face in a “Glasgow smile” in retaliation for her remarks about Tupac’s murder.

She claimed Combs Enterprises chief of staff Kristina Khorram, who Diddy once referred to as his “right hand,” was present and told her boss not to cut Parham because they could potentially “sell” her to clients for sex before threatening to have her sent overseas where her family would never find her.

Parham says Diddy then removed her clothes at knifepoint, and smothered her with an unknown liquid substance before violently sexually assaulting her with a TV remote.

Parham claims the attack escalated from there, with Diddy threatening her life. He then subjected her to a vicious a### rape and summoned two other men who also anally raped her. She also accused a fourth man of vaginal rape.

After the alleged assaults, Parham claimed her attackers, including Diddy, went outside to smoke. She then made her escape, grabbing a knife, but had to pass Diddy to exit the property.

He allegedly told Parham he had given her “enough drugs to take out a horse” and was shocked to see her walking. He also made a lewd comment about the alleged rape before offering her hush money to say she consented to everything.

When she refused and told Diddy she would report the attack to the police, Parham claims Diddy told her nobody would believe her claims and threatened to harm her family if she went to the authorities. She claimed one of Diddy’s associates showed her a phone displaying what seemed to be a live video feed from outside her sister’s house.

Diddy allegedly referenced Tupac’s murder, telling Parham he’d gotten away with bigger crimes and even called his mother, Janice Combs, to convince Parham not to report her son.

Parham claims she chased Diddy with the knife she took from the home but took mercy on him when he pleaded for his life. She then fled for the exit, but Diddy caught up with her and she lunged at him with the knife, grazing his stomach.

She escaped and got help from a neighbor who called the police. Parham claims she reported the incident to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department, Walnut Creek Police and the Orinda Police Department but was told no law enforcement agency had an active investigation in response to her reports.

Diddy is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center until his racketeering trial, which is slated for May 5, 2025.

His attorneys have not yet responded to Parham’s allegations. However, they claimed the case against Diddy “is rapidly becoming a media circus,” in a new filing Tuesday (October 15). Diddy’s legal team pointed to Tony Buzbee’s plans to file over 100 new lawsuits, six of which were filed this week.

“With each new anonymous accuser, Mr. Combs is being forced to defend his entire sexual history rather than specific, actionable claims. This undermines his right to a fair trial.”

Parham is not one of Buzbee’s clients. She is reportedly represented by Ariel Mitchell and Shawn Perez.

Is Diddy’s Sexual History On Trial? His Lawyers Think So In New Demand To Court

Attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs are raising alarms that their client will be unable to receive a fair trial, citing an overwhelming number of sexual assault allegations and a media frenzy surrounding the accusations.

In a court filing submitted on Tuesday (October 15), Diddy’s legal team argued that the massive volume of claims, many from anonymous sources, is turning the trial into an unfair inquiry into the music mogul’s entire sexual history.

According to the defense, these factors have only encouraged further baseless allegations and pointed to lawyer Tony Buzbee’s recent press conference, which aired on social media and featured a hotline that received 12,000 calls in just 24 hours.

Diddy’s legal team explained how Tony Buzbee was planning to file over 100 new lawsuits, six of which were filed this week.

“This case is rapidly becoming a media circus,” Diddy’s lawyers said in their filing. “With each new anonymous accuser, Mr. Combs is being forced to defend his entire sexual history rather than specific, actionable claims. This undermines his right to a fair trial.”

As a result, Diddy’s lawyers are asking the court to compel the government to reveal the identities of the alleged victims, claiming the ambiguity of the charges has left their client at a significant disadvantage.

Without knowing which claims the government intends to pursue in court, Diddy’s lawyers say he is essentially “playing a guessing game.”

The filing also stressed that Diddy has already faced irreparable damage to his reputation due to the torrent of allegations, which have been amplified by the media.

According to the defense, some claims have already been debunked, but only after causing significant harm.

They cited instances where plaintiffs withdrew their lawsuits or were caught attempting to bribe witnesses to corroborate their stories, referencing the allegations against one of his accusers, Thalia Graves.

Diddy’s legal team contends that many of the claims surfaced because of his eight-figure settlement with Cassie.

His lawyers argue that many of these civil suits are designed to extort settlements from Diddy rather than to seek justice.

In addition to the flood of accusations, Diddy’s attorneys pointed out that the media coverage has been one-sided and heavily biased against their client.

The plaintiffs’ lawyers, unlike the defense, are not bound by the court’s strict rules on pretrial publicity, enabling them to make inflammatory statements to the press without repercussion.

In contrast, Diddy’s team is restricted in how they can respond, further complicating their ability to counter public perception.

Diddy’s defense team concluded their argument by urging the court to intervene and require the government to identify the specific allegations and accusers that will be addressed during the trial.

The government has not yet responded to the defense’s request. Diddy is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center until his racketeering trial, which is slated for May 5, 2025.

2 Chainz Notes NBA Stars LeBron James & Kevin Durant In Choice Not To Re-Sign With Def Jam

2 Chainz used an interesting reference nodding to his NBA BFF LeBron James while announcing his latest career move.

On Monday (October 14), the Atlanta rap veteran took to his Instagram and dropped the bombshell, revealing he’s officially leaving Def Jam and going independent. Filming from Abu Dhabi while getting a few shots up on the NBA court where a few pre-season games have been played, 2 Chainz revealed that he’s ready to take on the music industry as a free agent.

“What up Trap check?,” 2 Chainz said in part. “Check. One, two. It’s your hostess with the most right now. Starting last week, I’m now an independent artist. That’s right. I’m not re-signing with Def Jam.”

2 Chainz then compared his status as an independent artist to the high-stakes free agency deals seen in the NBA by likening his situation to that of NBA superstars such as James and Kevin Durant.

“So think of it like KD or like LeBron, the biggest free agent in the game,” he said.

Seemingly making his desire to field the most lucrative offers available, Big Toni confidently teased his willingness to hear out record labels who might have interest in signing him to the rap game equivalent of a “supermax” contract.

“Better come on to these folks talking about that good oil money down here,” he said. “You better come on with your bag, Jake.”

When looking at the big picture, this is a major development in 2 Chainz career, and is certainly a moment in the industry, given his illustrious run thus far. 2 Chainz was signed to Def Jam for over a decade, beginning his solo career with the label in 2012. During his time there, he released six studio albums, starting with Based On A T.R.U. Story (BOATS) in 2012 and ending with Dope Don’t Sell Itself in 2022. It’s also worth noting that he and Lil Wayne’s collaborative project Welcome 2 Collegrove was released under Def Jam last year, as well.

It makes sense 2 Chainz referenced the NBA world in his announcement that he’s now an independent artist. For starters, he has maintained a close friendship with James over the years, even enlisting the NBA legend as an executive producer for his 2019 album Rap or Go to the League. On top of that, when Durant and James last hit free agency, they both signed lucrative supermax contracts, but the terms and financial impacts of their deals differed due to timing and team strategies.

Bron’s most recent supermax contract came in 2018 when he signed a four-year, $153.3 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. On the other hand, Kevin Durant’s most recent supermax signing occurred in 2019 when he joined the Brooklyn Nets on a four-year, $164.3 million deal as part of a sign-and-trade agreement with the Golden State Warriors.

Cardi B Reveals How Her Stripper Past Came In Handy For Her Birthday Celebration

Cardi B, formerly known as Camilla, revealed to her Twitter followers that her past experience as an exotic dancer played a role in her recent lavish birthday celebration.

On Monday (October 14), Cardi explained to her 35 million-plus Twitter followers how a wardrobe malfunction led to her revisiting her former place of employment ahead of her birthday party in New York commemorating her 32nd birthday.

According to the “WAP” rapper, the “thotty” dress that she had intended to pop out in for her birthday shindig ended up being a little too risqué. However, rather than allowing the designer mishap affect her plant to party the night away, she revealed that she fell back on her humble beginnings as a stripper to save the day in a timely manner.

“So let me tell ya about my little thotty dress.. the dress I was gonna wear for my birthday was a little too small and there wasn’t enough fabric…,” Cardi B wrote in part in the tweet.

“So I got my a## in a truck and went to Staten Dolls gentlemen’s club where I worked at for four years and bought this little dress because baby NOTHING was gonna stop this night…,” she added.

As she continued, Cardi reflected on her experience revisiting the gentleman’s club she once worked at while pursuing her rap career, and touched on the love she received from he former co-workers — who apparently still affectionately refer to her by her dancer stage name.

“I love the fact that they don’t see me like CARDI B,” she wrote. “They still treat me like CAMILLA (Fun fact.. that was my stripper name [crying laughing emojis]).”

With the tweet attracting over four million views, and counting, it seems clear that the little black dress, featuring a sheer, chiffon-like fabric waistline and plunging cleavage cut, was a hit with among her followers. The party itself also seemed to be a hit and attracted a number of appearances and performances from up-and-coming artists such Scar Lip, Fendi Da Rapper, Cash Cobain, Lola Brooke and more.

50 Cent Trolled By Jeweler He’s Suing In His Old South Jamaica Hood

A jeweler gave away $50,000 worth of silver in 50 Cent’s South Jamaica, Queens neighborhood in reaction to the TV mogul’s trademark infringement lawsuit. Maksud Agadjani trolled the G-Unit rapper by posting footage of the giveaway on social media, suggesting it should settle their legal dispute.

“I don’t need your image,” Agadjani claimed. “Your videos are down. I hope we could call it a day in a respectful manner like two grown men.”

50 Cent sued Agadjani for $5 million. The G-Unit rapper took legal action after the jeweler brazenly copied his cross chain and boasted about it online.

“You’re not Jesus Christ,” Agadjani declared in South Jamaica. “You don’t own the cross. But that’s neither here nor there … Just trying to resolve this conflict in the spirit of the Lord, bro.”

Agadjani trolled 50 Cent by saying the diamond-selling artist should focus on Diddy. 50 Cent is producing a documentary series about Diddy for Netflix.

“You’ve got better things to do,” Agadjani said. “You got Diddy, you got baby oil. You got everything you need, man. What do you need me for?”

He added, “Instead of giving money to lawyers, let’s do the right thing and handle it like men. I know you’re a grown man. I know you can handle yourself.”

Agadjani started bragging about copying 50 Cent’s chain in August. The jeweler received a warning before the lawsuit was filed on October 10.

“This was a bad idea,” 50 Cent commented on one of Agadjani’s posts. “You will regret doing this I promise.”

Agadjani failed to convince the rap star to drop the lawsuit after seeking forgiveness on social media.

“Let me think about it,” 50 Cent wrote. “Nah you tried to play with me! You know the vibes by Monday.”

50 Cent announced his first Las Vegas residency on Tuesday (October 15). His first show is scheduled for December 27.

Diddy Celebrates Daughter’s Birthday From Jail Amid Lawsuit Onslaught

Sean “Diddy” Combs posted on social media for the first time since his September 2024 arrest on Tuesday (October 15). The Bad Boy Records founder wished his youngest daughter a happy birthday via Instagram.

“Happy Birthday to you!” he wrote. “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you.”

Diddy was indicted for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

The incarcerated mogul’s legal troubles worsened when six more lawsuits were filed against him on Monday (October 14). One of the alleged victims said he was a minor when Diddy sexually assaulted him at a party.

“[Diddy] instructed John Doe to drop his pants and expose his penis so that Combs could inspect it, explaining it was a rite of passage and the route to becoming a star, and also as a way to prove himself,” the lawsuit claimed. “‘Don’t you want to break into the business?’ Doe immediately felt uncomfortable, froze and did not know what to do … Combs moved closer and grabbed John Doe’s penis and genitals with his hand. He firmly cupped and held onto John Doe’s genitals for an extended period of time. During this time, Combs moved his hand in such a fashion to manipulate John Doe’s genitals, squeezing and feeling them. Doe was only sixteen.”

Attorney Tony Buzbee represents the six people who sued Diddy on Monday. Diddy’s lawyers denied the allegations.

“[Buzbee’s] press conference and 1-800 number that preceded [Monday’s] barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity,” Diddy’s legal team said. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”

Diddy’s criminal trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Rumor: Ice Cube Is Prepping A New Album

UPDATE: Cube has revealed his new single:

A post shared by Ice Cube (@icecube)

Word on the street is that Ice Cube—the OG gangsta rapper from NWA—is dropping a new album. Yup, that’s the rumor swirling around, and honestly, I can’t wait to hear what he’s cooked up this time. It’s been a minute since Cube gave us something we could really feel, but hey, maybe this is the year he flips the script. Why? Because Cube thrives when things are all messed up!

Let’s face it, we’re living in a world where everything is under a microscope, and people are convinced this country’s steering straight into a brick wall. That’s Ice Cube’s sweet spot! If there was ever a moment for him to drop a bombshell album, this is it. And with a resurgence of OGs coming back on the scene, it’s only right that Cube joins the fray. These legends still have the potential to shake things up—and, fingers crossed, to make things better, not worse.

Here is a bonus rumor that I had to slip in this rumor to get it to you.

Now, I know this next bit might ruffle some feathers in the Hip-Hop world, but hey, it’s gotta be said. It is killing me not to say anything. One of JAY-Z’s buddies is apparently so paranoid, he won’t touch his food until someone else has tasted it first. Yep, rumor has it that Robert Kraft, the billionaire himself, has food tasters on deck like it’s medieval times. Is this the price of living that billionaire life? Maybe. But hey, I can’t say I’d want that kind of paranoia… although I sure wouldn’t mind the bank account!

Back to Cube. Are you interested in this? Let me know! By the way, the Obama era yielded the last time Cube dropped a masterpiece.
