Missy Elliott has brought a dream to life, linking with London-based girl group FLO on their new single, “Fly Girl.”

The song, which samples the Hip-Hop icon’s classic 2002 song, “Work It,” was released Friday (Mar. 24) with an accompanying video. Check it out below and stream the single at the end of the page.

The British trio, made up of Renée Downer, Jorja Douglas, and Stella Quaresma, thanked Missy for making their dream come true.

“When this song was written we couldn’t have imagined a more iconic collaboration,” the trio tweeted. “We want to take a moment to thank @MissyElliott and her entire team for making this a dream come true.”

Missy Elliott responded to FLO with some advice: “Much love & May your careers continue to flourish through the roof & you all stay together through thick & thin!🏾🤝fly girls💣🔥💃🏾”

In a statement, Missy Elliott said of the collab, “Working with FLO has been nothing less than amazing. I remember a few of their fans sent me clips of their performances, and I immediately felt the authentic 90’s vibe. I loved the fact they all sang lead so well – great vocal control – so when I was asked to be a part of the “Fly Girl” record, it was a no brainer. They used the inspiration from my song “Work It“, and I felt they did it justice. I enjoyed it and I believe they have a long, great career ahead of them.”

Lola Brooke Taps Latto, Yung Miami For ‘Don’t Play With It’ Remix

Lola Brooke is continuing her rise in the rap game linking with two fellow rising star female emcees on the remix of her hit single, “Don’t Play With It.”

The Brooklyn, NYC native made noise on her entry into the scene scoring viral success with the song last year. After signing her first deal with Arista Records in January, Lola Brooke dropped her new single “So Disrespectful,” earlier this month.

Word got out that the “Don’t Play With It” remix was on the way after Lola Brooke was spotted filming a video alongside Latto and Yung Miami. Check out a clip from the shoot and listen to the single, released Friday (Mar. 24), at the end of the page.

Lola Brooke opened up about the track’s success during a recent interview with Consequence Sound. “Don’t Play With It” was originally released in 2021 but didn’t take off until a year later.

“I didn’t realize how big of a moment I would have from this song,” she explained. “I know it would be a moment, but I didn’t know how big. When I put the song out, my intention was to just promote it just because I was a fan of my own music. So even though it wasn’t pitching — on the first release, it wasn’t pitching yet, but it still was a good song to me. So I didn’t have no choice but to keep promoting the song.”

Soon, she got the co-sign from some of rap’s heaviest hitters, with praise from Missy Elliot. Lil Kim and Future also brought her out as a guest act on their recent NYC shows.

“I didn’t even let Pluto finish introducing who I was or who he was bringing out,” Lola said of her appearance with Future. “I just heard my music and I just ran out. And when I watched the video back, I see he was like, “Oh, oh, woah. Okay, Lola.” I was so excited, I couldn’t even hold it in.”

Taxstone Convicted Of Second-Degree Murder In 2016 Shooting Of Troy Ave’s Bodyguard

Taxstone has been convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the 2016 shooting at Irving Plaza that took the life of Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter. The trial has been ongoing for weeks, with prosecutors linking the podcaster to the shooting through DNA and witnesses at the scene. The jury handed down the guilty verdict on Thursday (March 23), according to ABC News. He’ll be sentenced next month for what District Attorney Alvin Bragg called a “tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue.”

Troy Ave, who’d been beefing with Taxstone online prior to the incident, was initially arrested in connection to the shooting but maintained his innocence. Taxstone allegedly confronted Troy Ave backstage that night, which led to a physical altercation. Shots were fired during the melee and McPhatter was fatally hit. Troy Ave was also injured in the shooting, but he survived.

Taxstone was arrested and charged with multiple counts of weapon possession and reckless endangerment in connection with the shooting. He was also charged with second-degree murder for his role in McPhatter’s death.

Last week, Troy Ave bragged about testifying against his former adversary. As he wrote on Instagram: “To all my real ones that been riding with & for me, today is the day I finally get to clear my name. It’s been almost 7 years since I lost one of my closest friends #RIPBANGA. 7 years of a narrative about it being my fault, 7 years of my character being assassinated all the while trying to defend myself without saying much! I took it all on the chin, never complained about the stress even tho I felt it. Never complained about the pain even tho it hurt! Never shed a tear even tho my heart was crying!”

He added: “At my weakest points I drew strength from GOD! Drew strength from my children & drew strength from y’all‼️ But today … ya boi is strong! Today is our day! We in court & the facts will speak louder than any words! It’s time to get this false narrative off my name and dark cloud off my head.”

EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Drug Kingpin Sues Lionsgate For $300 Million For Allowing 50 Cent To “Intimidate” Him

The bitter feud between Corey “Ghost” Holland and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has erupted into a new $300 million lawsuit against Lionsgate Entertainment, with Holland accusing the entertainment giant of enabling Jackson to launch a vicious and sustained intimidation campaign against him.

The lawsuit claims that Jackson orchestrated the intimidation campaign against Holland, and Lionsgate Entertainment knew about Jackson’s harmful propensities but failed to take necessary action.

Lionsgate Sued Over 50 Cent Bullying Ex-Drug Kingpin

The legal action is an extension of Holland’s previous $1 billion lawsuit against Jackson, where he claimed that the TV series “Power” was based on his own life.

Holland alleges that he met with “Power” co-creator Courtney Kemp’s dad in 2007 and shared his life story with him, including his experiences as a drug dealer on a CD titled Blasphemy

Holland claims that Jackson used his story as the basis for the “Power” TV series without his consent or compensation.

During that lawsuit, Holland claims 50 Cent showed up in his neighborhood with men in vans and SUVs, who went around the area looking for a man named “Ghost.”

The men finally found Holland and stared him down as he stood in his driveway. Holland claimed he was forced to arm himself. Holland claimed he asked 50 Cent and his goons why they were in the neighborhood, but they prevented him from confronting the rapper.

Lionsgate Sued Over 50 Cent Bullying Ex-Drug Kingpin

According to Holland’s latest lawsuit, Lionsgate Entertainment was aware of Jackson’s illegal activities and harmful behavior but still hired and allowed him to develop and produce “Power.”

Holland alleges that Jackson used the TV series to further intimidate and harm him, ultimately leading to the supposed intimidation campaign.

Corey “Ghost” Holland is seeking $300 million in damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence in hiring and retention, among other charges.

The lawsuit also seeks to prevent Lionsgate Entertainment from using Holland’s life story in future productions without his consent and compensation.

50 Cent and Holland are expected to try and mediate the $1 billion lawsuit over the “Power” lawsuit during a session scheduled for May 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM.

So far, 50 Cent and his lawyers have yet to reply to the new $300 million lawsuit.

CeeLo Green’s Horse Mishap Leads To Twitter Gold—& PETA’s Fury

CeeLo Green intended to make a grand entrance at Shawty Lo’s birthday party at The Bank in Atlanta on Wednesday (March 22), arriving to the soirée by horse. But the animal was clearly scared by the commotion going on and took a spill, throwing the Goodie Mob legend to the ground in the process.

CeeLo wasn’t injured and went about his business, celebrating the late rapper with several of his friends. But animal rights organization PETA caught wind of the incident and blasted CeeLo for the stunt.

“It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses don’t belong at a noisy, crowded party, where slippery floors and strobe lights can agitate these vulnerable animals,” PETA said in a statement. “If CeeLo bumped his head, PETA’s hoping it knocked some sense and compassion into him. PETA encourages others to not follow in his footsteps, use common senses and kindness and leave animals alone.”

Despite PETA’s outrage, Twitter still had a field day with the mishap. The social media giant erupted with memes and comments at CeeLo’s expense. As for the man himself, he did share a few videos of his arrival to his Instagram Stories, but none of them included the fall.

Vin Rock & Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature Drops Project With Protégé Act Next

While fans won’t be getting a new Naughty by Nature album anytime soon, the 2/3’s of the group is still out and about making moves.

Last year, they shocked the world by rocking out a crazy tour that was both in person and in the WEB3 space. They showcased in their metaverse space the many new artists they’ve been working with.

Now, Vinnie “Vin Rock” Brown and KayGee Gist are connecting with the group Next for a new project, called “Next by Nature,” releasing a first single called, “That’s Me.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Vinnie Brown (@unclevinrock)

The group is no strangers to the Illtown Sluggaz!

KayGee produced several songs for Next, including their hits “Too Close” and “Wifey” on their first two albums.

The producer said, “Next is a group that I’ve always stayed in contact with personally.”

“We always talked music, family and potentially doing a family tour of all the artists I’ve produced. The tour seemed to be impossible to do, so we decided maybe us doing a joint project will help ignite the family to come together,” he continued.

Adding, “And we are… igniting the idea, leading off with ‘That’s Me’. The sexy leading single was started by RL, with not only the lyrics but the track as well. I took RL’s great ideas and added my touch, to finish it up with the rest of the Next guys & Vin.”

RL from Next said it feels like “a coronation of sorts.”

He said, “The reverence I have for Naughty and all that they’ve accomplished has always been my goal for the NEXT brand. I can remember intently watching KayGee navigate the studio in awe. I dreamt that one day I’d be half way as capable.”

“Fast forward to now (which is long overdue) and I get emotional with the realization that I’m no longer sitting behind Kay at the boards… WE SIT SIDE BY SIDE. Even at my seasoned age I feel like a kid again whenever I’m surrounded by our big brothers. I only hope we continue to make them proud. Co-producing and writing a record with one of your idols AND getting to be on a record alongside legends… yep… That’s Me!” he concluded.

To celebrate this new collaboration, NEXT, Vin Rock and KayGee are set to perform on Saturday, March 25 at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ.

Vin & KayGee will be honoring the 30th Anniversary of “19 Naughty III.” Also at the show will be Amerie, AZ, and Funk Flex.

The full album is expected to drop later in the year.

Jack Dorsey Accused Of Using Hip-Hop To Promote Fraud And Crime On CashApp

Internet guru, co-founder of Twitter, and co-founder of  Block, Inc., the developer of the Square financial services platform, might be trying to use drill music to promote his popular mobile payment service, CashApp … despite rappers claiming they use the app for violent crimes and drug deals.

At least, that is what his critics are saying.

On Thursday, March 23, an investment research firm Hindenberg Research dropped an explosive report regarding all the ways Dorsey has allegedly used CashApp to commit fraud— even suggesting that the techy tapped rap music as the soundtrack of his illegal get-money efforts.

The songs the report said basically promote crime and that steppers have used his app to get money and engage in criminal activity.

The track “Like That” by Lil Durk and King Von. Lil Durk says he also plays for hits through the app.

Other artists (mostly drill) use CashApp in their songs to talk about committing crimes. Names like YPN Dougie, Lil Saucy, the late Juice WRLD, Bella Shmurda, and more have actually made hits that include the money-transfer agent.

Another artist the report specifically pointed to was 22Gz, who says clearly, he pays his “hitters through CashApp.”

Dorsey actually paid to license 22Gz’s song on the platform.

Another allegation made by the report is that 40% to 70% of CashApp’s 51 million active users are “fake, involved in fraud” or simply duplicates under one name or phone number.

Dorsey, who believes his work helps the “unbanked or underbanked,” has not responded.

Woman Shot The Same Night As Takeoff Has No Insurance And Must Pay $200k Medical Bills

Late Migos rapper Takeoff was not the only person injured in the Texas shooting that claimed his life.

One other person who was shot was Sydney Leday, a 24-year-old young woman.

Leday spoke out earlier in the year. AllHipHop.com reported her first-time speaking out, saying she was out partying with her friends at the 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley.

According to an interview with The Shade Room, the young lady says she is still traumatized after being shot in her head. In addition to the physical scars, she is dealing with the big dent in her pockets left by all the hospital bills.

A few after-effects of the shooting were that she now has a bald spot in the place where she was shot and that she has to go to a therapist to treat her post-traumatic stress disorder.

Even while in the hospital, she said, “They had to keep sedating me because I kept trying to get up and leave.”

She said she was grateful that she basically doesn’t look like what she’s been through and said that even when loud noises like NYE fireworks go off, she is triggered.

“I want to be able to feel normal,” she said before asking people to remember, this was “a senseless act that wasn’t needed and it impacted people in a big way. Not just Takeoff. No just me. People that were there are traumatized [also].”

So far, Leday has been billed for over $200k in medical services for staying in the hospital for a week when she slipped into a coma, the surgeries, and other treatments. Of that, she and her supporters have raised less than $17k on a GoFundMe that was set up for her.

The profile states she has no insurance and was “an unfortunate victim of violence.”

There is no word is Quality Control or anyone from Migos has offered to foot the low six-figure bill.

Jim Jones Discusses Album With HitMaka, The Jay-Z Days, Drake & Dipset And Working With Dr. Dre

The AllHipHop Blog is back with another slapper and so is Jim Jones.

New York boss Jim Jones talks to Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and DJ Thoro at the world famous WonWorld Studios. The interview starts off slow, with Jim talking about his new project with HitMaka, but soon becomes one of the definitive interviews with the Dipset Capo. “It’s a little bit romantic,” Jim said of Back In My Prime, his new album. “It’s a little bit of romantic balling, florin’ top down talking.” But this new direction of his music does not stray too far from his Harlem, New York roots as and HitMaker solidify the sonics with hometown samples.

Farther into the conversation, Capo discusses a myriad of topics, ranging from pranks in Hip-Hop, his brother Maino and why young people should chill. He also discusses Drake as a “member” of The Diplomats, the Rocafella Era and how a new Dipset album can happen (“I would love to do a dope ass Dipset album, double album”). Jim also reveals in detail how he, Cam’ron and Juelz Santana did several songs with Dr. Dre and how awkward the creation process was. “It was the first time I had somebody make me do my verse of like 20 times,” he told Jigsaw and Thoro.

Check out this epic interview and hear all the gems from Jim Jones.

Fans Ask Yung Miami If She Is Pregnant

In the middle of the night, City Girlz rapper Yung Miami sent the world into a frenzy after posting about “pork chops and corn.” People thought she was pregnant.

Right before 12:00 a.m., on Wednesday night, the sexy Miami chart-topper said she be “wanting” the soul food dish.

One Twitter user responded, “Fried pork chops in the morning with bread and hot sauce they don’t know nothing bout that sister!”

The rapper said, “OMG.”

When @jahfrom843 asked if she still liked eating “corn starch,” she said, “Only crave it when I’m pregnant.”

Fans instantly conflated her saying “crave it when I’m pregnant” with her previous post about “friend pork chops and corn.”

Craving cornstarch is a form of Pica, which is an eating disorder where one eats nonfood items that normally occurs during pregnancy, especially in women with nutrient deficits. For those not in the south or with southern roots, hearing someone want “friend pork chops and corn” could sound like an odd craving also.

One person took to the thread and said, “Caresha what?” and another flat-out asked, “ARE U PREGAMAT?”

She quickly responded with “No,” shutting down the rumor within 12 hot minutes.

This was not the first time Caresha was in the middle of a “baby” scandal.

AllHipHop.com reported last year, social media world was in an uproar when her boo Sean “Brother Love” Combs announced he has a new child.

Fans immediately clocked that Diddy’s baby was not with the much younger Yung Miami.

Like the champ she is, she shut rumors of her being mad down also.

Latto Denies Entering Diversion Program For Gun Arrest

Atlanta native Latto has been in the headlines a lot over the last several weeks. In particular, recent reports laid out the alleged legal consequences for the “Big Energy” hitmaker’s 2021 firearm arrest in Los Angeles.

TMZ asserted Latto had to take part in a year-long diversion program after authorities caught her with a loaded gun at the LAX airport. The outlet also claimed she must complete a gun safety course and perform 120 hours of community service in order to get the charges dismissed.

Latto is pushing back on the stories about the supposed fallout from her run-in with the law. The 24-year-old RCA recording artist took to Twitter to inform her 2.8 million followers not to believe certain published versions of the incident.

“[I don’t know] who put out that false-ass information, ’cause I’m not in no damn program… Also, the situation happened over a year ago and y’all never even knew until I mentioned it in the ‘Boom, Pt. 2’ verse. Nun to ‘brag’ about. Leave me alone,” posted Latto on Wednesday night.

Latto Raps About The LAX Incident On “Boom, Pt. 2”

Mello Buckzz recruited Latto for the “Boom, Pt. 2” single. An official music video for the collaboration arrived on YouTube on March 17. The visuals have amassed more than 1 million views on the platform.

“I got locked up in the airport, g######, forgot the gun. In the head, I keep me one. What she said? I get her popped. Caught her down bad on the block. Then her ass got Milly Rocked. This a Glock, not a prop. What’s an opp? B####, stop,” raps Latto on the “Boom, Pt. 2” track.

Earlier this month, Latto got into a back-and-forth with gossip blogger Armon Wiggins. The YouTuber made fun of “Lottery” debuting at No. 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In more positive news connected to Latto, the 777 album creator will perform at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 27.

Offset Teases Song With Takeoff Appearance

Migos member Offset seems prepared to let loose a new full-length body of work. Will his late groupmate, Takeoff, appear on the project?

Entertainment trade outlet Variety reports Offset recently previewed a new unreleased song featuring Takeoff. The nearly one-minute snippet is apparently from Set’s March 20th Instagram Story.

Offset reportedly enlisted Quality Control Music recording artist Icewear Vezzo for the teased track as well. Migos released four studio LPs via Quality Control prior to Takeoff’s passing.

Kirsnick “Takeoff” Ball died on November 1, 2022. A gunman killed the 28-year-old Georgia native at the Billiards & Bowling venue in Houston, Texas. Fellow Migos rapper Quavo was present at the scene during the shooting.

Quavo and Takeoff’s Only Built for Infinity Links collaborative project came out in October 2022 via Quality Control/Motown Records. The Last Rocket, Takeoff’s only solo studio album, hit DSPs in November 2018.

Three months after The Last Rocket dropped, Offset released his debut solo album Father of 4. The project hosts the Grammy-nominated single “Clout” featuring Cardi B. In addition, Set partnered with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin for 2017’s Without Warning joint effort.

Last year saw Offset drop the tracks “54321” and “Code” with Moneybagg Yo through Motown Records. There have been legal issues playing out between the 31-year-old rhymer and Quality Control Music. QC founders Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas recently sold the label to Scooter Braun’s HYBE company.

DJ Whoo Kid, Guapdad 4000 & More Booked For Wale’s WaleMania VII

Once again professional wrestling and Hip Hop culture will collide. DMV-bred emcee Wale and former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide present WaleMania VII during this year’s WrestleMania weekend.

WaleMania VII organizers recruited G-Unit Records affiliate DJ Whoo Kid for the event taking place on Thursday, March 30 in Los Angeles. Previously, DJ Whoo Kid showed up on All Elite Wrestling’s Grand Slam television special in 2022.

Guapdad 4000 (aka Guap) will be at WaleMania VII too. The Bay Area-based recording artist released songs such as “Flossin” and “Gucci Pajamas” as well as projects such as Dior Deposits and 1176. He was also one of the standout performers on Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation.

Of course, WaleMania VII will include appearances by some of the biggest names in pro wrestling. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., Ricochet, Saraya, The Embassy, and Guest of Honor Trinity Fatu are among the names promoted for the showcase at LA’s The Novo.

“We’d go to WrestleMania, and it’s a lot of wrestling, which is great. But we’d be asking if it would be dope to have just like a real All-Star game weekend sort of vibe but for professional wrestling,” explained Kazeem Famuyide in an interview with the Wednesday Worldwide podcast.

Last year’s WaleMania VI presented a star-studded party for wrestling fanatics. Hip Hop stars Westside Gunn, Smoke DZA, and Yella Beezy were in attendance. The event also featured several representatives from WWE (like former tag team champions The Street Profits), AEW (like TBS Champion Jade Cargill), and Impact Wrestling (like former X Division Champion Chris Bey).

Ed Sheeran Reveals He Quit Drugs After Death Of U.K. Rap Icon Jamal Edwards

Ed Sheeran has opened up about the passing of his “best friend” Jamal Edwards, who died last year.

The founder of the trailblazing YouTube channel SB.TV, Jamal Edwards was a pioneer in the U.K. rap scene, helping launch the careers of Sheeran along with countless others. He died on Feb. 20 last year after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia. An autopsy determined Jamal’s sudden death was brought on by cocaine use.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA 🇻🇨🇬🇧 (@jamaledwards)

In a wide-ranging interview with Rolling Stone, Ed Sheeran admitted that he was devastated after Jamal Edwards died, causing him to spiral into a deep depression. He also confronted his struggles with drugs and alcohol, vowing to quit the substances.

“I felt like I didn’t want to live anymore,” he said of his friend’s passing. “And I have had that throughout my life.… You’re under the waves drowning. You’re just sort of in this thing. And you can’t get out of it.” Those thoughts seemed “selfish,” he declared, “especially as a father. I feel really embarrassed about it.”

The 32-year-old singer admitted he “used to be a party boy” and tried several drugs in his twenties. He refused to name the substances but acknowledged he was “always a drinker” but didn’t touch “any sort of like, drug, until I was 24.”

While he was “initially “sort of dabbling” his drug use spiraled and before long he was taking drugs daily. “Then it just turns into a habit that you do once a week and then once a day and then, like, twice a day and then, like, without booze. It just became bad vibes,’ the “Shape of You” hitmaker shared.

Ed Sheeran Quit Drugs After Jamal Edwards Died

However, after Jamal Edwards died from cardiac arrhythmia brought on by cocaine use, Ed Sheeran resolved to stop taking drugs.

“I would never, ever, ever touch anything again, because that’s how Jamal died. And that’s just disrespectful to his memory to even, like, go near,” he added.

Jamal Edwards was due to curate a music video for Sheeran’s collab with New Jersey rapper Russ last year, but he tragically passed away the day before the scheduled shoot.

“We were meant to shoot in February, but the day before Russ flew out, Jamal tragically died,” Sheeran explained. He decided to put out the song with Russ as a tribute and tapped U.K. grime legend Jammer to get on the track.

”He was always about bringing people together and shinning a light,” Jammer said, sharing the video last July. “I’m glad we was able to execute your vision!! I hope this makes you proud. This year has been a tough one 💔 #JamalForever.” Check out the “Are You Entertained” video below.

Rick Ross Enters Cannabis Industry With New “Collins Ave” Strain

Rick Ross is expanding his business empire with a new venture, branching  into the cannabis industry.

The Maybach Music Group honcho, whose business interests include numerous Wing Stops franchises, a record label, a champagne line, and many other investments, isn’t going it alone.

According to TMZ Hip-Hop, Rick Ross is partnering with top-self distributor High Tolerance for the new line. The “Collins Avenue” strain will launch later this year. The name is a nod to his old Miami-Dade stomping grounds, and Rozay says it’s the best on the market.

He opened up about his new endeavor during his TMZ interview, published Thursday morning (Mar. 23).

“High Tolerance is the best flower for all the ones who like to blow that good gas,” Rozay explained. “This is the best flower in the world … this is why I decided to team up with High Tolerance. They have the best flower on the streets. Shout out to Manny, the biggest.”

High Tolerance co-founder Manny is thrilled to have Rick Ross on the team. He told TMZ Ross is “a true cannabis connoisseur.”

Fans can expect the new strain to arrive this summer. The “Collins Ave” pack is set to arrive Jun. 1. High Tolerance also offers a range of non-smoking products, including a range of CBD beauty products, although it’s unclear if Rick Ross will expand past smokables.

The brand sells an exfoliating, moisturizing, and nourishing sugar lip scrub alongside a Lip balm with all-natural moisturizing ingredients, including Shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E.

J. Cole Pulls Up On Aspiring Rapper In Queens Project For A Listening Session

J. Cole has once again shown how much time he has for his fans, pulling up to meet one in the projects to hear his music.

The Dreamville co-founder linked with an emerging rapper on Wednesday evening (Mar. 22), meeting him in the 40 Project in Queens, New York.

Ty Trilly took to Instagram after the meeting to share a video of his encounter with J. Cole.

“Listening session wit cole in my project Lobby,’ he penned in the caption. Cole is seen listening intently while nodding his head to the track. He offered the young artist some advice after he explained he wanted to add a second verse. While Cole empathized, he told Ty Trilly to drop the track without it.

“You don’t even need it,’ J. Cole declared before adding, “Put that b#### out! Next! Shoot the video, pout that b#### out. It’s gone’ land on the people it’s supposed to land on.”

J. Cole Gives Producer The Stamp Of Approval

This isn’t the first time J. Cole has co-signed a new and relatively unknown artist. Earlier this year he made an up-and-coming producer’s dream come true, sending him a song he recorded after finding his beat on YouTube.

While searching for inspiration one day, he stumbled across the YouTube page of up-and-coming producer Bvtman after searching for a “J. Cole type beat.”

“This song should live on your channel and serve as a thank you to you and every producer out there cooking up and sharing their work with the world,” Cole told the beatmaker. “It’s a million artists out there right now just like me, hungry and searching every day for something to spark a word, a melody, a hook, a verse, a punchline, a way to vent, or a way to CUT THROUGH.”

The song has garnered over 3.5 million views in just over two months. Listen to “Procrastination” below.
