Teewhy G Talks Why He Is “Keeping It Player,” Writing For Mary J. Blige And More

Teewhy G released his newest song and visual for Keeping It Player,” and it’s already getting him in trouble with the ladies. The record is in collaboration with multi-Platinum producer Mike Zombie, who also makes an appearance in the cinematic visual. With both being from New Jersey, it was only right for the two to connect.

In describing himself, Teewhy G states, “I like to consider myself a down-to-earth person. I’m amongst the people that come from New Jersey man. I’m a representative of where I’m from, my environment. I’m all about having fun. I’m all about sharing information, just being dope. Sharing my life story, my experiences with people and connecting it. Showing where we’re from.”

When it comes to his sound, the rising star prides himself in his ability to blend genres. There’s no specific genre he’d categorize his music, but he can definitely hop on any beat and make it his own. And beyond Hip Hop, Teewhy G is excited to tap back into his Latin roots, the same ones that raised him in his city.

AllHipHop spoke with Teewhy G to discuss his background, the new release, studio essentials, and more!

AllHipHop: You’re from New Jersey, talk about what the city means to you.

Teewhy G: I definitely like the culture over here. I’m from a Latin community. I grew up in Hudson County, Union City, Jersey City, West New York area. There’s a lot of Latin influence over here. It’s reminiscent of New York City to be honest with you, it’s just a little bit more not heard of where I’m from. But a lot of people that live in New York and do business in New York, live where I’m from, then go back and forth to New York. It’s fast-paced, loud, fun. Not really too much s### to do around here, but a lot of house parties when I was growing up. We really had to enjoy each other’s company, because there’s really not too much going on out here. We’re trying to help amplify the culture out here. But definitely energetic, fast-paced, just like New York City.

AllHipHop: When did you fall in love with music?

Teewhy G: When I was younger, when I got into thi, it was in grade school. I started to take it a little bit more serious around 2016. I was involved in battle rap, but I always had a major love for music when I was younger. Once I started to make some moves with it, once I took it serious, I realized I can take it to the next level. I had an opportunity at one time to write for Mary J. Blige, which was pretty dope for me. In that moment, when I was sitting in the room, I’m like damn. People here are actually respecting my pen, my opinion. I realized I could really make s### shake at that moment. It’s been a lifelong journey for me, I loved it ever since I got involved with it. It’s been something that’s been extremely therapeutic for me over the years.

AllHipHop: How’d you get to write for Mary J. Blige? What did you learn from that experience?

Teewhy G: I was involved in some street stuff. I met some guy, he had owed me some money. One of his connections was a music person. He had ended up putting me in his studio. I told him listen, if you can’t pay me back, what can you do? He ended up giving me studio time and gave me the opportunity. I didn’t know I was going to write for her up until I was in the room. I met Denice Rich, who was a big investor. I met Mary’s brother, I met people from her label.

I just thought it was a session honestly, I thought I was going there to record. Before I knew it, I didn’t even know I was writing for her, up until I was already in the process. I was sitting in the background, a fly on the wall type s###. I heard them writing stuff, I thought it was decent. I threw them an idea because I heard them all stuck. Once they heard my idea, they liked it. They incorporated me in the writing session. Before I knew it, I was sitting there writing 1, 2, 3, 4 records with them.

Unfortunately the record didn’t come out, but the cool thing that really helped boost my motivation was I heard Mary record it. She recorded what I wrote, I was shown a rough mix of that. That to me, it was a f###### battery in my back. Damn, she is the queen of this s###. I can’t be here for no reason. There’s gotta be a reason for this s###.

AllHipHop: How did you get your name?

Teewhy G: My real name is Ty Garcia. Ever since I was younger, I always felt my name was too short. When people asked me my name, Ty sounds short. When I was younger, I was given the name T-Y. Family and friends helped extend my name. Give it a little bit more two syllables, instead of one. Some quick s###. Ever since, I’ve been running with that. Since I was a little kid.

AllHipHop: Let’s talk about “Keeping It Player.” How are you feeling?

Teewhy G: Listen, I was talking to some girls. That s### be f###### my s### up, ain’t gon’ lie. I like to explain to them: this is a mood that I had at one time. Some people think you put music out and that’s you 100% of the time. Nah, this is a mood I had at one point in time. I’ve definitely been a playboy. Definitely been a player before, so that’s real s###. I’m leaning into my personality and leaning into my real life experiences. I definitely have been very lucky in that department with the ladies. Just had to talk about it, that’s all.

AllHipHop: What’s your relationship with Mike Zombie? I know he’s from Jersey as well.

Teewhy G: It’s crazy how it came to be. My manager Sean Strange helped introduce me to Ricky Grey, who’s been helping me with my project. Ricky had the relationship with Zombie and his brother, so I’m on Cassidy’s upcoming project. He was playing him some songs. Once my verse came on on the Cassidy project, Ricky said “Yo, who’s this?” My voice was standing out. He showed him, he took them down a rabbit hole of my catalog. “This is an artist I’m managing,” blah blah, blah.

Long story short, one thing goes to the next. He’s like, “Yo, I got a relationship with Mike Zombie. It’d be dope. It’ll be a cool way to have a big Jersey producer behind you while you’re cooking up your s###.” Because honestly, I’ve been getting a lot of beats from BeatStars. I never really had a consistent producer, somebody that has some stature in the game. Once we got that, the introduction was made. I linked up with Zombie in South Jersey, we clicked immediately. It was super organic. We even cooked up a bunch of records on the spot. Linked up, talked to him about music. S### off of music. We built the organic relationship, but I gotta give all the credit to my man Sean Strange and Ricky Grey.

AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?

Teewhy G: It was the entire thing in general. S### was super stressful, ain’t gon’ lie. Video shoots seem fun, but they be stressful as f###. Putting everything together. Realistically, I’m an independent artists so I’m funding all my own s###. I put all of that together by myself. I’m booking the models, I’m booking the venue. I’m booking the cars, I’m making sure Zombie’s here at a specific time. I’m doing everything.

The s### was definitely stressful, but the most fun about it all was to see the final result of it. My man Mizu really brought that s### to life. I knew once I give him the right ingredients, he’s gonna really make this s### pop. Honestly, shooting it in general and being able to be proud of what we did was the most fun part of it. The final product for me personally.

AllHipHop: What does it mean to keep it player?

Teewhy G: It means getting in your bag and not your feelings. Too many people in their f###### feelings, crying all day long online. Listen man, we got money to make. Moves to make. We’re not concerned, stuck in our feelings all day long about s###. It’s about keep it P, keep it pushing. Worrying about what matters. Whether it’s a girl, a guy, whoever. If somebody’s stressing you out, kick them to the side. We got s### to do.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from your upcoming project, No Flowers In The Garden State?

Teewhy G: I do a little bit of a lot on there. There’s not one record on there that sounds like the next, which a superpower for me. A lot of it is mainstream hype sounding music. I wanted to lean into that a little bit more because Zombie is a hitmaker and we aiming for hits. We definitely leaned into that a lot. A lot of those records have major potential to be on radio, and be in general rotation on a mainstream platform. I could definitely hear a bunch of mainstream artists doing remixes to these records. All the beats are knocking something crazy. You could expect a no skip project, I guarantee that.

AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio at all times?

Teewhy G: I need water ASAP. I drink this big ass jug of water every f###### day. I need my inspiration, my weed, and I need some f###### space. A lot of people like to have the whole entourage in the studio, but I don’t. I like to lock in. Me and my man Chris, that’s about it. I need my water, my weed, I need my phone. Other than that, I’m good. Leave the entourage at the crib.

AllHipHop: Where do you see yourself in the Latin music space?

Teewhy G: I definitely want to lean into that a lot more to be completely transparent and honest. My Spanish is a low key dirt, but working on it. [laughs] It’s something we’re going to get more and more into, but I’ve been extremely influenced by Latin culture. I got a bodega literally on every single corner of my block. Liquor store, bodega. All you hear all day long is music from all poppin’ Spanish artists that are going on right now. I love Latin music. I grew up off it. Even when I didn’t know what the f### they were saying. I’m in house parties, jean stains on the wall. We grinding with different girls, swapping a wall. S### was definitely a vibe growing up, so I love it. I love everything about it.

AllHipHop: Anything else fans should know about you?

Teewhy G: I’m next n*gga! Not even, I’m right now. So get in tune. I’ve been slept on for a while and it’s time for m############ to wake up. Once I get on platforms like Sway, matter of fact. Hot 97, holla at me. Shade 45, all these people. I need the major radio stations to holla at me. As soon as I step up there and I hop on this mic, y’all going to see why the f### I am who I am and why I say I am. I’m going to show every single person that ever said anything about me that #1, I got mainstream sounding music and I got the bars. We got the personality and all that, but let’s stick on the music and the bars.

The bars most importantly. When I go up there, I plan to have legendary freestyles. I need that, especially Bars on I-95. Talking about bars over names and s###, holla at me. Let me show you what I could do. That’s what I gotta say. Make sure y’all ready for me because once I come through, it’s going to be a f###### era. It’s not going to be I’m here today, gone tomorrow. I promise you that.

AllHipHop: Talk your s### then!

Teewhy G: I promise you, I’m not playing with them. I waited way too long for s### like this, I grinded way too long. I put up all my own money way too long. Once I get in this m###########, I promise you I’ma stay. It’s clips for everybody else, they gon’ have to take a back seat for a little minute. It’s going to be reminiscent of when we did this s###, I guarantee that.

Russell & Ciara Wilson Won’t Abide By Social Media’s List Of “Date Night” Restaurant Rules

Either women today have really high expectations or Russell Wilson got extra lucky when he married his Waffle House Queen, Ciara.

No matter the case, the husband and wife duo are actively breaking the viral “date night” restaurant rules manifesto circulating on social media. As many of my fellas may know, we are currently being bombarded over the head with literal laundry lists of restaurants that women have declared as “unacceptable” for a first date.

Of the eateries on that lists are fairly well-known spots such as Cheesecake Factory—which we all know Drake immortalized in 2016 on his fan-favorite record “Child’s Play.” So the fact this generation of females don’t mess with the factory is mind-boggling to me!

However, it appears as Wilson and Ciara are here to turn the tides. During their recent date night, the Bronco’s quarterback rented out an entire Waffle House for his queen—not to mention on her birthday. And of course, the R&B singer was ecstatic and extremely pleased and thankful for the gesture.

While I don’t believe most fellas don’t have the ability to do this for their misses, it’s the thought that counts! And Ciara just proved that. Something still tells me we aren’t getting off that easy and that sooner, rather than later, haters will come for them.

If you haven’t by now, make sure to stop by your local Waffel House location extremely late at night/early in the morning. I hear that’s when you get the best service and entertainment—if you catch my drift.

NY Congressman Who Helped Establish “Hip-Hop Month” Pleads Guilty In Federal Court

Rep. Jamaal Bowman has admitted in court to activating a fire alarm within a federal building—despite there not being a fire. According to ABC News, he described the incident as an “innocent mistake,” Bowman clarified that he pulled the fire alarm thinking it would trigger an emergency exit door to open.

The congressman took a plea deal, which will have him to pay the maximum fine of $1,000 and write an apology to Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger for the expenses that the force exerted thinking there was a fire on that day. The GOP is having a field day with this one, even calling for his arrest.

“Should Democratic congressman Jamaal Bowman be arrested immediately?” Matt Wallace wrote.

Rep. Andy Biggs wrote added, “Congressman Jamaal Bowman was given a mere slap on the wrist for falsely pulling a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building. What would have happened if he were a Republican Representative?”

Police said on September 30, a security camera captured the Bronx native pulling the fire alarm while attempting to exit the Cannon House Office Building. After he did that, the entire building had to be evacuated. Reviewing security camera footage, Capitol Police confirmed that Bowman tried to open the doors, but they were locked. After looking around, he resorted to pulling the fire alarm lever.

Rather than telling the police he did it and it was a  mistake, Bowman walked past the officers and went on his merry way to the Capitol building. He entered the building just four minutes after triggering the alarm, saying later, that he was rushing so he could make an important vote in Congress that would stop the government from being shut down. Falsely triggering a fire alarm constitutes a misdemeanor offense.

In a statement following his indictment, Bowman expressed gratitude for the swift resolution and accepted responsibility for activating the fire alarm. He will pay the maximum fine of $1,000 and serve three months of probation.

While there remains uncertainty about potential federal prosecution, Bowman is focusing his attention on correcting a narrative that Republicans are pushing. Some have suggested the “Squad” member pulled the lever to cause some political distractions. “1. Removed the warning signs. 2. Pulled the fire alarm. 3. Didn’t even try to open the door. How is Jamaal Bowman not obstructing an official proceeding?” Rep. Troy E. Nehls said.

While Bowman maintains it was a mistake and denies any conspiracy, he genuinely regrets the disruption caused to law enforcement and the public, acknowledging the embarrassment it has brought.

Bowman (NY-16), Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43) and Congresswoman Sydney-Kamlager Dove (CA-37) put forth the resolution in the House of Representatives that made August 11 “Hip Hop Celebration Day” and November “Hip Hop History Month.”

Will Smith Congratulates Jada After Memoir Lands On New York Times Best Sellers List

It looks like the seemingly endless promotion Jada Pinkett Smith did for Worthy paid off.  Within one week of its release, the memoir has made The New York Times Best Sellers list, landing at No. 3.

The monumental victory was celebrated by Will Smith, who many believe has taken a beating in the press since the rollout for the book began. Smith, however, has been steadfastly supporting Pinkett Smith.

In a video shared to her Instagram account, Pinkett Smith said, “I was sitting here thinking that there was a time where women actually had to take on the names of men in order to be published, and here we have four women at the top of the bestsellers list. I’m deeply grateful.”

(The three other women are Rachel Maddow, Cassidy Hutchinson and Dolly Parton.)

A post shared by Jada Pinkett Smith (@jadapinkettsmith)

Smith hopped in the comment section and wrote, “‘New York Times Best Selling Author, Jada Pinkett Smith’ CONGRATS, MAMA! Big Looks.”

This isn’t the first time he’s publicly celebrated Pinkett Smith, declaring his love and steadfast devotion to her, despite the headlines.

“I just turned the final page of Worthy,” he said in a letter read to her on an episode of “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast. “It is amazing to realize that despite having lived most of my life by your side, I still found myself shocked and stunned and caught off guard, laughing, then inspired, then heartbroken. I was all over the place. It’s one thing to hear anecdotes at a family barbecue. But it was truly overwhelming to take in your story, potently condensed in this way.

He continued, “I know it wasn’t easy to excavate the depths in that way. I applaud and honor you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would have hugged you more. I’ll start now. Welcome to the Authors Club. I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”

Both Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are New York Times Best Sellers. Smith published his memoir, Will, in 2021.

Mariah The Scientist Says Young Thug Being In Jail “Solidified” Their Relationship

Mariah The Scientist released her new album, To Be Eaten Alive, today (October 27) via Epic Records. The Atlanta-born recording artist tapped Young Thug, Vory and 21 Savage for the project.

In addition to collaborating with Young Thug on music, Mariah The Scientist is also in a relationship with the currently incarcerated YSL Records founder. The couple reportedly began dating in 2021 before authorities arrested Thug on gang-related charges the following year.

Mariah stopped by the Way Up With Angela Yee radio show to promote her new studio LP. The conversation also included the former St. John’s University student talking about being in a love affair with someone in jail.

“I think in the beginning I was so sensitive about it. I was so emotional, I was crying all the time,” Mariah The Scientist admitted. “It was like you can’t be crying when you got a man in jail because it’s going to make him sad. So you can’t be acting like that.”

Mariah also stated that she visits Young Thug in Georgia’s Cobb County Jail once a week and they speak daily. Thug (born Jeffery Lamar Williams) faces multiple felonies including RICO charges. He has remained locked up for over 530 days.

“It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship,” Mariah The Scientist told Angela Yee and her co-hosts. The R&B singer also said, “I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one. If I didn’t really see that in him, I probably wouldn’t.”

Earlier this month, both Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist released dueling singles. Thugger’s “From a Man” track served as a response to Mariah’s “From A Woman” track. “From A Woman” lives on the 28-minute To Be Eaten Alive album.

Tasha K Denies Nicki Minaj “Put A Battery” In Her Back To Go After Cardi B

Latasha “Tasha K” Kebe has been caught in one of the most highly-publicized beefs in Hip Hop history. The controversial YouTuber became a major character in the ongoing story of the battle between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.

Tasha K made headlines once again this week when she went online to try to mediate her issues with Cardi B. The two women have been going back and forth on social media and in courtrooms for years. A jury ruled that Tasha must pay the “WAP” rapper nearly $4 million after losing a defamation lawsuit.

In addition, Tasha revealed that she spoke to Nicki Minaj about her longtime rival Cardi B on more than one occasion. According to the internet blogger, Minaj asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would prevent their conversations from becoming public.

“The reason that I didn’t sign the NDA that she wanted me to sign was because I said, ‘If I sign an NDA for you, and this is before me and Cardi went to trial, if I sign this lifelong-type, till death do us part, even after life NDA, I might as well not go to court with Cardi,” said Tasha K in a video posted to her YouTube channel.

Tasha K Claims Her Content Had A Lot Of People Nervous In 2018

That NDA revelation from Tasha K spread across the internet. Bloggers and social media users weighed in on Nicki Minaj allegedly wanting the celebrity news gossiper to remain silent about any discussions they had.

Fellow YouTuber Couture Bae spoke to Tasha about some of the topics addressed in her viral “It’s just me…” video, including the NDA allegations. The often problematic internet personality insisted she did not intend to throw Minaj under the bus.

“If it came out in a messy way, that’s not what I meant at all because me and Nicki have talked a lot over the years and there’s a lot of stuff that people don’t know that was happening to her behind the scenes,” Tasha K explained.

“But with the NDA part, I felt the need to, now that I think about it, bring it up because I needed the world to understand that the way I moved in 2018, everybody was nervous,” the UnwineWithTashaK host told Couture Bae.

Tasha also added, “The NDA part, I brought it up because I know people thought Nicki put a battery in my back… She did not put a battery in my back at all. That NDA, when I shared it, I was under the impression that people would have got that if I shared this they would have saw that she had nothing to do with my dealings with someone who happened to be her opp.”

Killer Mike Reacts To Old Promotional Video With Accused Scammer Cesar Pina

It appears a social media user attempted to connect Atlanta rapper/entrepreneur Killer Mike to the ongoing legal drama involving DJ Envy and Cesar Pina.

On October 1, federal officials arrested self-described real estate expert Cesar Pina on one count of wire fraud. Pina worked extensively with The Breakfast Club host DJ Envy to present seminars across the country.

DJ Envy also promoted Cesar Pina on his show and on social media. Several alleged victims of what the feds called a “Ponzi-like” scheme also sued the two men in civil court. Pina allegedly scammed people out of millions of dollars.

This week saw the @KDotTKL account on X share an old video of Killer Mike with Cesar Pina. In the clip, Mike says, “I have highjacked and kidnapped DJ Envy. Don’t worry he’ll be back. But I’m with my man Cesar right now.”

That 48-second video has more than 3 million views on the X platform. Several hours after the post spread on the app, Killer Mike responded to the speculation that he may have had financial dealings with Cesar Pina in the past.

“A mutual friend told me I should meet him so I did 🤷🏿‍♂️… We did no business, I never endorsed him and if [you] watch the video I just looked at some s### he showed me and got outta there,” posted Killer Mike on Thursday.

Neither Killer Mike nor DJ Envy have been officially charged with any crimes in connection to the Cesar Pina investigation. Envy maintains he was victimized by Pina too and his lawyer suggested the media personality is working with the prosecution. If convicted of wire fraud, Pina faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Digga D, Unknown T Remix U.K. Rap Classic On New Single “Adolescence”

Two U.K. Drill stars who once shared a cell behind bars have joined forces with a fresh twist on a classic track from South London legend Giggs on their new single, “Adolescence.”

The London-based duo, who became friends while serving time, have delivered their spin on the 2007 underground classic, “Pain Is The Essence” by Giggs and Dubz. The track became an anthem in the U.K., with numerous rappers citing the song or making their own covers.

Unknown T and Digga D pay homage to the song, which features an introduction from Giggs. “We’re taking it from the older generation to the newer generation,” Hollowman declared, opening the track. Watch the video below.

Unknown T, Digga D – Adolescence

Earlier this week, Digga D reflected on his rise in the industry after making U.K. rap history with his headline set at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, the youngest rapper to ever do so.

“I’ve spent most my teenage years in jail or on tag,” the 23-year-old shared on his Instagram Story. “I used to do 24hr shifts and sleep in blocks.”

Jail is where the duo first met back in 2019. Digga D was serving a 15-month prison sentence for conspiracy to commit violent disorder, and Unknown T was on remand for murder but was acquitted and released the following year.

Although they were already rising stars of the U.K. drill scene, they ended up sharing a cell at Belmarsh Prison. “It all started from me rapping from my window to his window,” Unknown T said of his friendship with Digga D in a 2020 interview with Vice.

They soon began “rapping back to back at lunchtime,” and doing sessions with prisoners before sharing a cell.

“We started growing a closer relationship, on a brother ting,” he said, adding that they began making music. ” We made a lot of tunes still, but obviously that’s all due to come.”

Chrisean Rock Explodes On Summer Walker Over Impersonation Video, Accuses Singer Of Being A Clout-Chasing Fan

Chrisean Rock has slammed Summer Walker, accusing her of being a clout-chasing “goofy” over a viral TikTok video the singer made impersonating the reality TV starlet.

The tension began when Walker shared a video mocking Rock’s Walmart controversy when she was filmed misusing her baby carrier. While she initially responded to the backlash by removing the TikTok and telling fans to get a sense of humor, the target of her jokes failed to see the funny side.

The Baddies South star took to Instagram Live Thursday (October 26) to say she was “hurt” and “triggered” by the video. Chrisean Rock explained that Summer Walker could have used her “influence” to do “a positive thing.” She further accused Walker of mocking someone who “really got clout” and said she reached out to her behind the scenes.

Nonetheless, things soon took a turn for the worse. Rock returned to social media a short time later, exposing their DMs while dragging Walker in another Instagram live video.

She referred to the “Girls Need Love” hitmaker as the “b#### that joined the hate train,” before unloading.

“I aint making no mockery of you having three f###### kids, no man and a f#####-up BBL,” she said. “Check your life before you start f###### playing with other people. Then y’all acting like I won’t beat the s### out of anybody that cross my path, Stop playing with me.”

Rock then shared an alleged screen recording of their private messages and added a message to Walker. “I also handled the situation with grace” she wrote on the video.  But I just realized you a fan a goofy bih.”

However, Chrisean Rock has since deleted her post after receiving a text from an unidentified sender advising her to do so.

Chris Brown Faces Lawsuit From British Man Claiming Singer Hit Him With Bottle And Stomped On Him

Chris Brown is in legal hot water, facing a lawsuit from a British man who accused the singer of viciously attacking him in a London nightclub.

The R&B singer was in London during his U.K. tour when a brawl reportedly broke out at The Tape Club in London’s Mayfair on February 19.

Producer Abe Diaw alleged Brown hit him with a bottle repeatedly in an unprovoked attack before stomping on him while he lay on the ground.

In the lawsuit, Diaw claims Chris Brown began by pounding him in the head with a tequila bottle, per TMZ. The “crushing blow” caused him to lose consciousness. However, the alleged victim says the assault didn’t end there. Diaw claims Chris Brown then stomped on him as he lay on the floor.

According to the filing, Diaw claims Brown inflicted serious injuries and he had to be hospitalized. Diaw says he suffered cuts to his head and torn ligaments in his leg.

London police have surveillance footage of the entire incident, Diaw claims. He also claims to have known Chris Brown for at least seven years and can identify him in the video. According to the producer, Brown is considered a fugitive in the U.K. as a result of the alleged incident.

Brown’s accuser says he mistakenly believed the singer was coming to hug him when he approached with the bottle. Diaw is suing Chris Brown for damages, claiming he’s suffering serious emotional distress, trauma and possible permanent injuries.

Back in May, a source told The Sun: “Chris knows he will be arrested if he goes back to the U.K. but is still doing everything he can to avoid it.”

Lil Uzi Vert Reveals They’re “Very Stressed” Says Relationship With JT “Isn’t In The Best Shape”

Lil Uzi Vert is going through it, revealing that they’re very stressed and has been holding back their feelings.

The “Just Wanna Rock” hitmaker took to Instagram on Thursday (October 27) to let fans in on their thoughts. Uzi revealed that their relationship with City Girls rapper JT “isn’t in the best shape,” and that they’re “distant” with everybody.

While they failed to mention what prompted their posts, Uzi hits back at suggestions of attention-seeking before explaining what they’re going through mentally.

“I’m very stressed out and done with so many voice’s controlling my life,” Uzi penned on their IG Stories. “It’s like I never lived for me.” They also said, “I would give up all the money and perks that this comes with 2 live a perfectly normal life,” adding, “I’m okay with it.”

In another post, Uzi explains that they cannot “stop now” and must turn in one more album. “After that I finally can genuinely smile.” Uzi says they feel they were “getting Judged from day 1” but has never responded to negativity. However, they explain, “I have a [talent] but I also have a heart and have been holding in a lot.”

The Philly rapper then detailed some of the issues they’ve kept to themselves.

“Im not as close to my family as I should be. My relationship isn’t in the best shape,” Uzi stated before adding, “I JUST WANNA BREATHE.”

In their last post, Uzi acknowledged the support they receive from fans, but signed off with “I’ve been distant from everyone lately even if they are standing right next to me.”

Jay-Z has revealed Blue Ivy didn’t think he was a “cool” dad.

In a clip from his multi-part interview with Gayle King, the renowned rapper and record producer admitted that his eldest daughter used to question whether or not he was cool.

“Blue, she be frontin’ on me a little bit,” Jay said of the 11-year-old when Gayle asked if his children think he’s cool. “But I catch her. I catch her in the corner, you know? Now she asks me, you know, if this is cool if her sneakers (are cool).”

The 53-year-old added, “She’s come back.”

The Roc Nation founder explained that there had been a time when Blue was embarrassed by him.

Takeoff Murder Case: Alleged Killer’s Lawyer Casts Doubt On Evidence In Deadly Shooting

Letitia Quinones-Hollins, the attorney for Takeoff’s alleged killer Patrick Xavier Clark, claimed the ballistics and video used to arrest her client won’t hold up at trial. The lawyer told Rolling Stone the evidence failed to prove Clark fired the fatal shot beyond a reasonable doubt.

“[Clark] maintains his innocence,” Quinones-Hollins said. “We do believe that he has a valid self-defense claim. I don’t think they can say with any degree of certainty that it was Patrick who actually fired the shot that took Takeoff’s life.”

She added, “There was someone else who started the shooting, it was not Patrick Clark. He was in the same position that Takeoff was in, he was trying to get out of there alive as well. He didn’t have anything to do with the argument that occurred. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when people started firing weapons.”

Takeoff was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley in November 2022. Clark was arrested for the shooting a month later. A grand jury indicted Clark for murder in May 2023.

Clark remains on house arrest while awaiting trial. He appeared in court on Thursday (October 26). His next court date is scheduled for January 23, 2024.

Ja Rules Rolls Eyes At “Troll” 50 Cent; Defends Crucifixion Stunt

Ja Rule dismissed 50 Cent’s trolling in a conversation with Page Six. The former Murder Inc. artist was asked about comments made by 50 Cent, who mocked his longtime foe for staging a crucifixion at the 2023 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards.

“He is just a clown, a troll,” Ja Rule said.

Ja Rule rapped while tied to a stake at the awards show in September. 50 Cent called the performance “stupid” in an Instagram post.

“Look at this s### head, is he supposed to be Jesus,” 50 Cent wrote. “WTF you can’t make this s### up.”

Ja Rule defended his performance in his chat with Page Six at the Pencils of Promise gala. The rapper emphasized he was on a stake, not a cross.

“I feel like I’ve sacrificed a lot in this industry,” he said. “Not nothing in the realm of Jesus Christ, don’t get me wrong. What people fail to realize is they act like Jesus was the only one up there, and they were many men being crucified at that moment, too … They just so happen to be criminals. Maybe I am not mocking Jesus, maybe I am one of the criminals.”

Lil Kim’s Bodyguard Gets A Year In Dubai Slammer For Protecting Trey Songz

Lil Kim’s bodyguard Cornell Whitfield received a one-year prison sentence for an alleged assault in Dubai. Whitfield was accused of slapping a man at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah hotel in March.

The 40-year-old bodyguard intervened when a drunk man confronted Trey Songz on their way out of the hotel in Dubai. Whitfield claimed he acted in self-defense, protecting Trey Songz from a man acting in a threatening manner.

According to the advocacy group Detained in Dubai, the alleged victim wanted $60,000 to drop his assault claims. Lil Kim’s bodyguard did not have the money to pay the man. Whitfield assumed he would be acquitted of criminal charges, but he was arrested when he returned to Dubai in August.

Whitfield’s family said security footage and witnesses confirmed he was simply doing his job. Detained in Dubai CEO Radha Stirling advocated for his release.

“We hope the police and judges will review the CCTV evidence and witness statements, understand that Whitfield was defending his client and allow him to travel home without incarceration,” Stirling said. “Until then, we recommend celebrities call out Dubai for these repeated cases of injustice.”

Stirling spoke with Whitfield, who said Lil Kim was “devastated” over his legal troubles. The bodyguard told Stirling the U.S. Embassy offered him no help.

Gunplay Thrown In Jail For Trying To Visit Estranged Wife Despite Restraining Order

Gunplay was arrested for allegedly violating a restraining order in Florida on Wednesday (October 25). According to TMZ, Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended him outside of his estranged wife Vonshae Taylor-Morales’ home. He will reportedly remain in jail until his November 7 court date.

Earlier this year, Taylor-Morales obtained a restraining order against Gunplay after he was arrested for domestic violence and child abuse. The Florida Department of Corrections discovered the rapper was near his wife’s home thanks to his GPS ankle monitor. Authorities picked him up before he encountered Taylor-Morales or their infant daughter.

Gunplay is not allowed within 500 feet of Taylor-Morales. He allegedly violated the restraining order multiple times before his October arrest.

Taylor-Morales filed for divorce following her husband’s August arrest. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and child abuse. A Florida court granted her sole custody of their child.

Gunplay, whose real name is Richard Morales, can only see his daughter via virtual visits. His visits must be monitored by the court.

Taylor-Morales is seeking child support from Gunplay. She also blamed his drug use for their daughter’s heart defect. Taylor-Morales claimed her husband overdosed on ketamine twice in addition to his abuse of cocaine.

Hip Hop Executive Ventures into Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Stephen Byrd’s Quest to Develop the Ultimate AI Voice Search-Activated App

Stephen Byrd stands out as a notable figure in both the realms of Hip Hop and Business. Initially establishing himself as a hip-hop executive, this serial entrepreneur successfully ventured into various facets of the entertainment industry, including producing his show and collaborating with Starz Entertainment with a television series named Hip Hop Raw & UnCut Concert Series. Recently, he clinched a significant deal with MVD Entertainment Group.

However, his journey extends far beyond his achievements in entertainment, with a keen interest in technology driving him to pioneer mobile live streaming two years before Twitter, Facebook, and other platforms adopted the technology. Presently, he’s returned to the tech world with a renewed focus on artificial intelligence and voice assistant devices.

Byrd’s Early Success in Music

Stephen’s lifelong passion for hip-hop and entertainment drove his entrepreneurial pursuits. As the music industry rapidly shifted towards digitalization, he recognized the impending obsolescence of physical media distribution. “I foresaw early on that we wouldn’t be stocking movies and CDs in stores,” Stephen explains. In response, he was determined to create a platform that allowed artists to publish and sell their music without relying on middleman services.

His extensive experience in the music industry provided a smooth transition into the world of technological entrepreneurship. Whether it was establishing his own record label, Byrd Records, in partnership with Universal Music Group-Fontana, launching the Starz Entertainment series “Hip Hop Raw and Uncut Concert Series,” securing a branding deal with MVD Entertainment Group, or pioneering the first live streaming platform for artists, Byrd consistently championed promotion and disruption.

Using AI And Voice To

Disrupt Digital Advertising

Over the past twelve years, Stephen has shifted his focus towards technology development. With a specific emphasis on artificial intelligence and voice recognition, he identified a gap in the market—real-time business offers tailored to specific industries were lacking. This gap led to the creation of VoiceeAds, a revolutionary platform enabling real-time offers and deals through voice-activated searches. For Stephen, the concept is simple; this software seamlessly combines convenience and practicality.

In a recent press release for Yahoo Finance, Byrd said this “People don’t want to be tethered to their screens; they want the freedom to stay on the move, access information effortlessly, and place orders seamlessly.” While awaiting the final patent approval, Stephen’s voice assistant app is already available and has garnered significant attention from the newspaper and magazine industry for helping with a new and innovative way for readers and advertisers through voice to get news, stories and advertisements. Acquisition offers on the horizon as well.

For consumers, it’s the ideal solution for obtaining instant information on their preferred topics through voice assistants. For businesses, it’s the perfect opportunity to present their products and offers to potential customers ready to make a purchase, whether it’s a sports ticket, a meal, or their favorite team’s jersey.
