He plans to drop more singles in the future but right now this new single Lava is taking over the blogs, playlists, and all over the internet.
Beyoncé has given her fans something to look forward to, sharing the Renaissance tracklist just over a week before its release.
The superstar singer will drop the highly anticipated album next Friday (Jul. 29) after surprising her fans by announcing the project last month. Beyoncé took to her Instagram Stories to share the tracklist with her followers.
While she hasn’t given details about any possible features, she has given a few hints about what fans can expect. Renaissance features 16 songs, including the previously released lead single “Break My Soul.” Beyoncé appears to be using her platform to send a political message with the song America Has A Problem. Other song titles include “I’m That Girl,” “Plastic on the Sofa,” “Thique,” and “Alien Superstar.”
While Beyoncé has yet to release an official music video for “Break My Soul,” last week (Jul. 14), she used her first-ever TikTok post to share a montage of her fans dancing to the tune.
“Seeing y’all release the wiggle made me so happy!” she wrote in the caption of the video that included Cardi B. “Thank you so much for all the love for BREAK MY SOUL! – Love B.”
Beyoncé revealed the Renaissance cover art last month alongside an explanation of what the project means to her.
“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving,” Beyonce penned in the caption.
“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” she added. “A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
Rhianna continues to make major business moves while taking some time out from the public eye to enjoy her new motherhood.
The superstar singer-turned-mogul is expanding her wildly successful empire, and her latest venture, “Fenty Hair” could see fans wearing wigs by Rihanna.
Her company, Roraj Trade, LLC, recently filed legal documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office targeted towards hair care.
On March 3, Rihanna added two “Fenty Hair” categories covering a range of hair care products, including various hairbrushes and combs, hair accessories, and several styling implements. Notably, the trademark also encompasses hair extensions, wigs, false hair, and toupees.
The two new filings add to the existing two categories filed last year (Mar. 3), covering everything from styling, straightening, relaxing, and waving products to hair color and even hair glitter.
The trademark applications could see Rihanna take over the hair care industry as the singer has a loyal fanbase worldwide. Her global empire includes Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage x Fenty making her a force to be reckoned with.
Meanwhile, Rihanna traveled to Paris this weekend to support her man A$AP Rocky during his European tour. The new mom looked like her stylish self while walking around the city ahead of Rocky’s Lollapalooza concert.
She donned a navy, green, and white ensemble from Adidas x Balenciaga, with pantaleggings covering her pumps. The trendsetter accessorized the sporty look with layers of necklaces, adding her signature glamor.
Kim Kardashian is calling for the release of incarcerated YSL rapper Gunna.
The reality TV starlet turned legal advocate took to social media to share her support for the Georgia native. She posted the “Free Gunna” hashtag and followed up with a couple of emojis to echo her message.
The call from Kim Kardashian comes amid a new move by the rapper’s attorneys to get their client released. They filed a fresh petition to ask a neighboring Georgia county to grant his release.
According to Billboard, Gunna’s legal team filed a so-called petition for a writ of habeas corpus on Tuesday (Jul. 18) in Harris County, the physical location of the rapper’s jail cell. The petition is a constitutional procedure that allows prisoners to challenge their imprisonment. They say Fulton County prosecutors had barely any evidence to support keeping Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) behind bars.
“To allow Mr. Kitchens to be held in jail by the unsworn claims and conclusions of the state, devoid of any specific facts or supporting evidence – over objection by the defense – is to render his presumption of innocence meaningless and to discard his right to due process,” Gunna’s attorneys wrote.
According to Cornell Law School’s Legal Information Institute, “Habeas petitions must be filed in the jurisdiction where a prisoner is held,” and Gunna is held in the Henry County Jail. However, the legal maneuver provides a way to bypass Fulton County Superior Court, which has repeatedly denied Gunna’s bond requests.
Gunna was nabbed on RICO charges alongside Young Thug and 26 other YSL members. Prosecutors allege they are part of a violent street gang terrorizing the streets of Atlanta. The charges against YSL include murder, carjacking, armed robbery, drug dealing, and illegal firearm possession allegations.
Gunna Also Has A New Appeal Route
Furthermore, the rapper may also have another route to appeal, which Fulton County had denied. If the fresh petition is denied, Gunna has the automatic right to appeal the decision and his imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Gunna continues to feed his fan. Despite his incarceration, he delivered the visuals for “Missing Me,” from his latest album DS4EVER. Check it out below.

Hailing from Omaha Nebraska, Hip Hop artist Loso Tha Artist returns with part 3 of his “Equilibrium” series. The 7 joint project has Thomas Saddler on the boards and include Loso’s latest singles “Behind You” & “Reality Check” as well as it’s accompanying music video.
Loso returns with a vengeance, with E3 being his best work to date, touching on being slept-on since 2015, hustling to the top, and staying solid in a world full of clout chasers. Loso’s material is harshly explicit, street-affiliated, and uniquely lingo-driven with terminology that fans have grown to identify as one of the voices of the new generation. E3 is a good jump on point for both newfound fans and familiar fans looking to refresh themselves with the growth of Loso Tha Artist. Throughout the project, Loso indulges on several serious topics while sticking to the script and providing the listeners with that signature sound that previously developed his growing following. The content on this latest release will turn many doubters into believers.
Snoop Dogg appreciated Eminem bringing out the best in the West Coast O.G. on their song “From the D 2 the LBC.”
The legendary rappers discussed their latest collaboration in a video posted on social media on Wednesday (July 20). Eminem said Snoop Dogg “killed it,” which led to the Doggfather commending Slim Shady.
“You challenged me, Marshall,” Snoop Dogg told Eminem. “You put me back in my karate school days where I used to be a young emcee and loved the challenge of having to try a new style, a new cadence.”
He continued, “The rap game is supposed to be that. It’s supposed to be challenging. It’s supposed to make you dig in yo’ bag. ‘Cause I’ve heard you on other songs with other rappers and you tend to show out, so I wanted to make sure I was gonna represent.”
Eminem responded, “You showed out. You definitely showed out.”
Snoop Dogg replied, “Just wanted to represent with you one time.”
Eminem and Snoop Dogg released their single “From the D 2 the LBC” in June. The track will appear on Em’s Curtain Call 2 compilation, which drops on August 5.
Minneapolis’ famed First Avenue cancelled Dave Chappelle’s show at the historic venue.
Dave Chappelle was scheduled to perform at First Avenue on Wednesday night (July 20). The venue axed the event and apologized following backlash over the comic’s history of transphobic jokes.
“The Dave Chappelle show tonight at First Avenue has been cancelled and is moving to the Varsity Theater,” the venue announced. “To staff, artists and our community, we hear you and we are sorry. We know we must hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we know we let you down. We are not just a black box with people in it, and we understand that First Ave is not just a room, but meaningful beyond our walls.”
First Avenue, known for its association with Prince, has a code of conduct that prohibits transphobic language. Outraged observers called out the venue for being hypocritical by booking Dave Chappelle.
“The First Avenue team and you have worked hard to make our venues the safest spaces in the country, and we will continue with that mission,” the venue said in its apology. “We believe in diverse voices and the freedom of artistic expression, but in honoring that, we lost sight of the impact this would have. We know there are some who will not agree with this decision; you are welcome to send feedback.”
Dave Chappelle’s Wednesday show was moved to the Varsity Theater, where he’s also scheduled to perform on Thursday (July 21) and Friday (July 22). First Avenue ticketholders were sent emails to transfer their tickets.
Will Smith will make millions of dollars for his role in the Apple TV+ movie Emancipation.
According to Variety, Will Smith will be paid $35 million for the film. The escaped-slave thriller is expected to be released in 2023.
Emancipation was originally targeted for a 2022 release. The Antoine Fuqua-directed movie was delayed to 2023 in wake of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Will Smith spoke about Emancipation in a 2021 interview with GQ. The movie star explained why he accepted the role after years of avoiding making films about slavery.
“This was one that was about love and the power of Black love,” he said. “And that was something that I could rock with. We were going to make a story about how Black love makes us invincible.”
More recently, Antoine Fuqua hyped up the Will Smith-led film in an interview with The Playlist. The Training Day director called Emancipation the best work of his career.
“Don’t have a release date for it yet, but, as a feature film goes, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” he said. “As a director, I mean, you hope to grow … I see some growth in my soul … it is epic.”
Move over Jason … Freddy … Michael Myers … Chucky … “Saw I, II, III, IV, and V”… “Carrie”… “Cujo”… and all the other REDRUM characters you can think of.
Rapper-turned-showrunner 50 Cent is making one of the scariest horror films in the history of popcorn munching.
It has to be. People are losing it even as they film it.
According to TMZ, the Queens native and director Josh Stolberg are filming their upcoming horror movie, “Skill House,” and during one of the scenes, a cameraman lost consciousness and fell out.
The scene seemed to be gory and bloody. A 29-second video of what he was filming until he fell out shows a woman in lime green or yellow swim-up with blood all over her.
Stolberg posted on social media (and 50 reposted), “Yikes!!! We shot a kill scene last night and the camera operator became so nauseated that he passed out, and the camera crashed to the ground. Had to stop down for a ½ hour. He’s okay now but… get ready for some crazy s**t!”
50 wrote, “Crazy night one of our cameramen passed out cold for 30min from the scene. Couldn’t take how real it was. We’re elevating horror to the next level. This is gonna change the rules of the game. #skillhouse.”

Live Nation revealed its defense against a lawsuit over the death of Drakeo the Ruler.
According to Rolling Stone, Live Nation claimed it’s not liable for the deadly stabbing that took place at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival in December 2021. The promoter argued it had no reason to thwart “third-party criminal conduct” in a filing made public on Tuesday (July 19).
Drakeo the Ruler’s brother Ralfy the Plug and Stinc Team members sued Live Nation for negligence, blaming the promoter for not having sufficient security at the event. Live Nation said it’s not responsible for the late rapper’s death because he never requested additional security or informed them about potential threats.
Live Nation faces additional lawsuits from Drakeo the Ruler’s mother and son. The company wants the three lawsuits to be consolidated.
Tianna Purtue, the mother of Drakeo the Ruler’s son Caiden, previously spoke to AllHipHop about the lawsuit filed on behalf of her son.
“It is important to me because I think of what happened to Darrell and also now our 5-year-old he left behind — and that was not by choice,” she said in March. “It was a major tragedy on how this happened and the lack of security at the venue. No one has any answers for his son. I’m sitting here constantly trying to talk to my son and let him know that everything is going to be ok even though you won’t see your dad again.”
A massive shootout in a northwest Miami neighborhood has law enforcement canvassing the community, looking for the gunman (or woman) responsible for the shooting that killed one Florida teen and sent two people to the hospital.
The shooting happened early in the morning on Wednesday, July 20th.
Miami police were dispatched to the scene, arriving at the 1300 block of Northwest 62nd Lane a little after midnight.
Once arriving at the location, officers are said to have found a female with a gunshot wound and declared her dead at the scene.
Emergency workers brought the other two victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital. They both sustained gunshot wounds, but like the teen, their conditions and identities have been withheld from the public.
Little has been released about the happening of this morning’s shooting, and officials are trying to discover the shooter’s motive (and or if the shooter acted alone).
The video showed how crazy the night got, capturing a Mercedes SUV with multiple bullet holes in its side and the back window shot out.
That truck has since been removed from the location.
The Sandy Springs Police Department believe they have in custody the suspects connected to a series of celebrity home invasions, including significant figures in the Atlanta Hip-Hop scene.
Law enforcement announced that they have detained and arrested four individuals they believe have been attempting to rob the houses of some of the Peachtree city’s most elite A-listers, including Gunna, Marlo Hampton from the hit Bravo series, “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” one of Future’s children’s mothers.
Officers believe the suspects are all gang members and target “high profile entertainment, sports or social media figures.”
According to WSBTV, the alleged perpetrators were scooped on Sunday, July 17th, by the SSPD as they attempted a home invasion at a townhouse where one of Future’s baby mothers lives.
Sgt. Matt McGinnis said the department monitored the star’s ex’s house and “got lucky.”
“We got lucky, and we got it right,” he said. “And as we targeted them, they came on scene. Both a foot chase and a vehicle chase ensued, and we were able to take four people into custody.”
Three were immediately taken to jail, and one moved to the hospital because he jumped out of the moving car as they tried to escape.
The police believe that these same thugs are responsible for at least 15 home invasions over the past year, including a recent burglary at YSL rapper Gunna’s DeKalb County home.
While Gunna was locked up, one residence connected to the “Drip too Hard” rapper was robbed — leaving the community on high alert.
According to the sergeant, two people have been identified as the masterminds of the home invasion operations.
He said while Kenzel Walker is a member of another gang, he worked with this particular gang to flawlessly plan out the burglaries. Walker has since been arrested for an Albany murder and charged for his role in some Sandy Springs home invasions and being a part of gang leadership.
Now the department is searching for the other key person connected to these crimes; Jeremy Caldwell., AKA J-Roc.
J-Roc is accused of being a ringleader of the gang and is wanted for 33 charges. The Sandy Spring home invasions only make up a portion of the crimes.
You better believe these digital streets are talking around this issue. Right now, it seems like Lil Durk may be at the forefront of the prosecution efforts. You may remember a few years ago he was nearby when there was a shoot out in a diner. That case never resolved itself publicly. In fact, we just don’t know what happened with it. For something like that to just disappear, it seems awfully strange.
Remember, Rico removes a lot of the direct links and allows for more indirect links. It started because they could not get to mob bosses. So, they got snitches and made a case based on a lot of speculation. That is why they are going so hard with lyrics of rap artists now. Anyway, remember King Von, Lil Durk’s most famous associate, was killed in a violent fight in Atlanta. And then, last year there was a case where an associate of Durk was wanted too…click the link for that.
All of this does lend itself to the district attorneys strategy for prosecuting these artists. I believe she and the authorities allow them to go wild and somewhat unchecked so that they can build a strong case and put them in the jail with maximum penalties. I know this seems strange, but to me it makes perfect sense it’s like prosecuting someone for jaywalking when you know they are going to rob a bank in a couple of days. Obviously, they don’t know anything but they probably suspect something or have sufficient data to do what they do. This feels like the feds, but it’s not.
Anyway, Durk has been pretty clean as of late. He’s engaged. He’s Muslim. He’s doing fashion. He may have nothing to worry about. It may be this is just a rumor, because he deleted his Instagram suddenly. We all thought that was linked to that alleged beat down he didn’t receive attic casino. But maybe he is doing his best to get ahead of the nonsense, or the reality that something may be down the line.
This game of cat and mouse has got to be exhausting. Now, there are others that are on the hot list, but I am going to hold off and not mention him right now. First of all it’s all speculation. Second of all, we’re going to let this cook a little bit, like slow cooker!
By the way, deleting IG…does nothing at all. They already got it.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are back at it! The word on the street is that the big dog and the big doctor are getting back together for a new album. Details are pretty scarce, but the word is Harry O, the notorious street dude that funded Death Row Records, is doing a bit of talking.
Apparently, Dre and Snoop went back up and decided it was a good time to make music again. Remember, this is 30-something years after their biggest hits. But, I think this is a different day and age in which they can still prosper. I think the question on a lot of peoples minds is what form will this album come to life.
Now that Snoop Dogg owns Death Row Records, they have made big moves. But those moves have not happened in the physical world the way we normally see it. Much of the effort has been surrounding NFT and meta-verse platforms. I know that they have released a number of projects, but I have yet to hear most of them.
Here is one of the songs, featuring The Lady of Rage. Remember, Rage? She remains as one of the dopest rappers ever, much less one of the feminine persuasion!
I am hoping at this effort, with Dr. Dre is something that is a little bit more readily available. Remember, Dr. Dre released an album that included songs with Eminem same way because it was released do a video game. Now, that is ingenious and I am quite sure that people heard it. But if you don’t play video games, it makes it a little bit difficult. I want something that we can all play in our cars and jeeps, like the 1990s. Anyway, what do you think about all of this?
I’m not from New York so I’m not 100% familiar with Sub-0. But I quickly became familiar with him because he got involved in a situation with Jadakiss. I kind of forgot the origins of that situation, but I don’t forget the vibe I felt when I heard it I’ll never forget how intimidating Sub-0 was when he talked to Jadakiss. It was almost as if he had no respect for one of Hip Hop‘s greatest artist.I knew he was the real deal. So, there is some somber news to report about Sub-0. Essentially, folks are saying that he was arrested and is now incarcerated Rikers island for attempted murder. Whether or not the truth is to be seen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmGV4SD7WBE
Right now, they are launching a go fund me in order to help him out and possibly get him out sooner than the slow wheels of justice will allow. Also, Sub-0 is known for his legendary DVDs in New York City. I never saw them however they are legendary because I have heard of them.
It’s my understanding that he is former friends with the late Alpo Martinez. As you know, Alpo was a legendary street dude himself, who eventually became a witness. Anyway, Sub-0 evolves from a DVD legend to a Podcaster. His podcast were pretty wild.
Under New York Law, Penal Law §35.15, a person is justified in using physical force against another when that person is under the reasonable belief that the physical force is necessary to defend the person or another person from what the person reasonably believes to be the illegal imminent use of force or the illegal use of force.
Yet on July 15th, our friend Ronald Branch, AKA Sub 0°, The DVD Legend was arrested in New York City by NYPD officers. He is being charged unfairly for protecting himself against a hateful attacker over a privately-leased parking spot due to his ever-growing celebrity status.
You may know Sub 0° through his years of DVD production and most recently though his super popular podcast that has almost 6 million views and counting. Ronald has been a staple in his Harlem community; and for decades has entertained the masses with his exclusive interviews with some of today’s Hip-Hop super stars and legends!
Most recently Ronald’s podcast highlighted the unfair treatment of citizens within urban communities after Rap Legend, Styles P went viral for defending a person of color being manhandled by police for what is believed to have been an alleged minor traffic violation.
It comes as no surprise that Ronald, after defending himself from an attacker, would also be the victim of harassment and brutality from NYPD officers who chose to target him solely because of his most recent podcast.
Because NYPD is still in possession of Ronald’s belongings and refusing to release them to his family; we need your help.
We currently are raising funds to help Ronald cover the initial expenses while we assess the charges filed and what his on-going legal fees are expected to be. We’ll update the details and dollar amount of the GoFundMe as more details and costs become clear. For now, anything you can contribute to help keep Ronald active in his work would be much appreciated.
Help Sub 0° protect his right to defend himself and his right to free speech.
Jason “IDK” Mills (formerly Jay IDK) established himself as a recording artist on the rise with bodies of work like USee4Yourself and Simple. The initials in his moniker originally stood for Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge.
The London-born, Maryland-raised rapper apparently trademarked his stage name. On Tuesday afternoon, Mills publicly addressed the Popeyes fried chicken food chain’s latest menu item.
“The meal you didn’t know you needed is finally here. Get the IDK Meal, with all the flavors to make anyone happy, for just $6,” reads a July 19 tweet from the verified Popeyes Twitter account.
In response, the “Dog Food” performer quote-tweeted Popeyes and added, “Popeyes, y’all know I own the trademark for IDK? Ppl are confused and think I have something to do with this when no one reached out to me. Can we fix this?”
Popeyes, y’all know I own the trademark for IDK? Ppl are confused and think I have something to do with this when no one reached out to me. Can we fix this? https://t.co/8t3x7V0Ac1
Social media users began debating whether Mills has a legal case against Popeyes. One person with the @ALdaOpportunist Twitter handle claimed the rapper’s Clue No Clue, LLC only owns the rights to audio and video recordings, apparel, and entertainment services for IDK, but not food.
IDK then retweeted a self-described stan account who replied to @ALdaOpportunist. Twitter user @laneybaby wrote, “The fact that so many people are under the impression that this is his meal (given all the fast food/musician collab meals) it’s enough for them to cease and desist regardless of what you posted. They’re infringing on his likeness.”
Back in May, IDK released the 8-track Simple album via Warner Records. The project features Hip Hop artists Denzel Curry and Mike Dimes. Grammy-winning Haitian-Canadian Kaytranada produced the project.
Chicago-bred emcees Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa will take their talents to Africa. The SaveMoney collective members will present the Black Star Line Festival in Accra, Ghana. They made the announcement at Free The Youth’s flagship location.
The forthcoming Black Star Line Festival is set to go down in the historic Black Star Square on January 6, 2023. Black Star Square is a monument to Ghanaians gaining independence from the United Kingdom in 1957.
“When Vic and I started our careers and started touring, we did shows all over the US. Eventually, we started touring in Europe, we did shows in Asia, South America, Central America, but we never had a chance to play our music for the people who support us the most,” said Chance.
The Grammy winner continued, “When we came here and touched down and felt the love that we received and the fans that we got to connect with, the understanding for the need for the connection became apparent to us. We need a music festival bringing major artists to Ghana. This is what we’re working to create.”
Marcus Garvey Inspired The Black Star Line Festival’s Name
Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa named the Black Star Line Festival after Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line company. The shipping line connected America, the Caribbean, and Africa from 1919 to 1922. The Ghanian government later launched a fleet of the same name.
In 2022, Chance The Rapper released “Child of God,” “A Bar About A Bar” and “The Highs & The Lows.” The 29-year-old Midwesterner’s Star Line Gallery project will come out later this year. Chance’s 2016 mixtape, Coloring Book, won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Bill “Kodak Black” Kapri is in trouble with the law once again after getting arrested in Florida last week.
Law enforcement officials allegedly found 31 oxycodone tablets and almost $75,000 in cash in the rapper’s automobile. Authorities in Broward County charged Kodak Black with drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.
The Florida Highway Patrol also accused Black of driving an SUV with illegal window tints. Apparently, the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker’s Dodge Durango also had an expired tag. Kodak Black’s driver’s license had supposedly lapsed as well. Authorities freed the 25-year-old entertainer on a $75,000 bond.
According to TMZ, attorney Bradford Cohen says a doctor prescribed the oxycodone found in Black’s vehicle. Cohn claims his client is suffering from serious chronic pain after getting shot earlier this year.
Previously, Bradford Cohen filed a motion to the court in order to inspect the pills. The lawyer reportedlywrote, “It is impossible… to explore a defense on behalf of [Kodak Black] without being able to inspect, weigh, and independently test the substances.”
While seemingly joking about his latest arrest on Instagram, Kodak Black also took to Twitter to rail against the government and “lil dick ass crackas.” As part of a lengthy Twitter rant, the Pompano Beach native asked, “How [the f###] you send a n#### to jail for my own medication? Then tarnish my character like I’m trafficking OxyContin???”
Kodak Black has dealt with many legal troubles. He has been in and out of correctional facilities for most of his music career. One of the more serious charges stems from a sexual assault accusation in South Carolina. An 18-year-old woman named Black as the person who forcibly raped her in February 2016.
The Dying to Live album creator famously received a commuted sentence from then-President Donald Trump following a 2019 conviction for federal weapons charges. Black pled guilty to two counts of making a false statement on a governmental form in connection to the purchase of a firearm.
