Casanova will remain in prison for the foreseeable future. On Friday (December 1), a federal judge upheld the Roc Nation artist’s 188-month prison sentence, determining it was still warranted. According to court documents reviewed by AllHipHop, the judge noted Casanova already got a sentence at the bottom of the sentencing range and has yet to serve 20 percent of it.
As the docs explain, “Defendant is not entitled to a sentence reduction because, assuming arguendo that he exhausted administrative remedies, he has failed to establish the existence of extraordinary and compelling reasons, and consideration of the factors set forth at 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a) does not warrant the relief requested.
“The defendant has failed to address, much less sustain, his burden of proof that a reduction would be consistent with the applicable policy statement that he is not a danger to the safety of any other person or to the community. The Court, at sentencing, noted the need to protect the public from further crimes: the defendant’s offense conduct is extremely serious and dangerous.”
Casanova pleaded guilty to robbery in 2020. Although he distanced himself from his ties to the Gorilla Stone Nation gang, writing an emotional letter to the judge ahead of sentencing, the judge said he hasn’t proven he’s no longer a threat to the community,
Casanova asked for the sentence reduction (or what is referred to as “a compassionate release”) in August, explaining his actions during a 2018 altercation at the Good Stuff Diner in New York didn’t legally constitute a “robbery” under New York State law. He was one of 18 defendants charged in a sweeping racketeering case for drug dealing, murder, attempted murder and other crimes committed by the Gorilla Stone gang.
A significant portion of Casanova’s sentencing was over an incident in which he snatched a cellphone from Niya Rucker, who was recording him at the diner. Rucker claimed that Casanova’s associates assaulted, choked, cut and broke her jaw while retrieving her phone to delete the footage. Consequently, Casanova was slapped with two counts of felony robbery. The rapper and his lawyer, Scott Leemon, refuted these accusations, with Leemon stating that Rucker left the diner with her phone and insisted no robbery occurred.
Lil Wayne is reportedly being sued by an ex-bodyguard for an alleged assault that took place in December 2021 at the rapper’s Hidden Hills home. According to legal docs obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Lil Wayne allegedly pulled a firearm on Carlos Christian and punched him in the ear. Christian claims Lil Wayne threatened to shoot him with a semiautomatic rifle, a threat he took seriously considering the “A Milli” artist served eight months at Rikers Island in 2010 on a gun charge.
Police arrived at Lil Wayne’s home around 1:40 p.m. local time on the day of the alleged incident. Christian told the officers he got into a verbal altercation with Wayne that eventualy turned violent. Deputies were contacted when Christian says he fled Wayne’s home for the gated community’s guard shack after being confronted with the rifle.
Lil Wayne allegedly accused Christian of leaking pictures to the media and asked him to leave the house before allegedly brandishing an AR-15. Sources close to Lil Wayne immediately denied Christian’s accusation and said Wayne didn’t even own a gun.
Christian is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for the alleged incident, claiming he incurred medical expenses, lost wages and suffered emotional distress from the alleged assault.
Lil Wayne has faced multiple gun charges over the years. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge in Florida. He was later pardoned by Donald Trump in January 2021. Wayne endorsed the MAGA leader in the 2020 presidential election that took place two months before Trump issued the lame-duck pardon.
In related news, Lil Wayne just released his collaborative album with 2 Chainz, Welcome 2 Collegrove, and dropped a single called “Hallelujah Heaven” with Jeymes Samuel, Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks from the film The Book of Clarence co-produced by JAY-Z. The film arrives in theaters on January 12. Listen to the track below.
Two people associated with rapper Nardo Wick have been arrested for assaulting one of his fans, according to the Tampa Police Department.
A 34-year-old named Zachary L. Benton and an unidentified minor, who is just 15 years old, surrendered to the cops. They were both charged with felony battery, while the juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm while wearing a mask.
The two men were caught on camera attacking a fan named George Obregon Jr. after Nardo Wick performed at Club Skye in Tampa. Obregon approached Nardo Wick for a photo, but he was brutally assaulted by the two individuals from Nardo Wick’s group.
One of the attackers sucker-punched Obregon, while another landed a blow to Obregon’s head. He was knocked unconscious and collapsed backward onto the concrete.
The aftermath of the incident was severe. Obregon suffered a concussion and brain bleeding, necessitating his admission to a local hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Nardo Wick, in a statement, expressed his dismay over the incident. He clarified that he did not condone the violence against his fans and had communicated his concerns and apologies to Obregon and his mother.
“I don’t condone what happened to my fan George after my show in any type of way,” Nardo Wick wrote. “I expressed to him and his mama how sorry and concerned I was that it happened to him multiple times before anything was ever posted on the internet. I sent his mama my number instantly the night it happened. I was even gone make a post to try to find out who he was before his mama text me. I can’t control another grown [man’s] actions. I ain’t know that was gone happen, and I was mad when it happened. I tried to stop it as u can see in the video, and if somebody got the longer video you can see how mad I was. I love and appreciate all my fans and don’t condone what happened at all dat s### ain’t gangsta or cool in no type of way.”
In a follow-up statement on his social media, Nardo Wick seemed genuinely concerned about Obregon.
“It ain’t about trying to stop nothing from happening ’cause I don’t want to get sued. It ain’t none of that,” Nardo Wick further stated on Instagram. “I genuinely care about the fan. That’s all I’m worrying about right now.”
Nardo Wick’s manager stated that the attackers were not Wick’s security or directly connected to him as an artist under RCA Records.
Obergon’s mother said her son was conscious but the extent of his injuries cannot be determined yet.
“To say my son is in this situation for a simple selfie is just mind-blowing,” Michelle Obergon told Tampa’s News 10. “We cannot say with a brain injury where he can be in a week, two weeks, a year, five years. The brain has to heal on its own.”
One of the former Minnesota Police Department officers convicted for the death of George Floyd, Derek Chauvin, was stabbed in prison earlier this week. Now, there are more details. According to CNN, fellow inmate John Turscak stabbed Chauvin approximately 22 times with an improvised knife in an attack. According to the federal complaint, at approximately 12:30 p.m. local time on Friday (November 24), Chauvin was in the law library at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson when Turscak assaulted him.
“Federal corrections offices immediately responded and deployed OC spray to subdue Turscak,” the criminal complaint said.
Turscak said he’d planned the attack for more than a month and chose Black Friday to reflect the Black Lives Matter movement and “Black Hand” symbol associated with the Mexican Mafia criminal organization. He said he would’ve killed Chauvin had someone not intervened so quickly. Turscak has been charged with three other counts, including assault with intent to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
“Attempted murder and assault with intent to commit murder violations each carry maximum penalties of 20 years’ incarceration, while assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury each carry maximum penalties of 10 years’ incarceration,” the District of Arizona’s US Attorney’s Office stated.
Chauvin is serving two concurrent sentences in Floyd’s 2020 murder in which he knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes. He pleaded guilty months later to federal charges of depriving Floyd of his civil rights. He was convicted in April 2021 on state charges of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He was sentenced to more than 21 years behind bars.
Corey “Ghost” Holland filed a $300 million lawsuit against Lionsgate Entertainment in March, alleging the company enabled 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) to launch an intimidation campaign against him. The suit served as an extension to Holland’s previous $1 billion lawsuit against 50 Cent in which he alleged the popular STARZ Network series Power was based on his own life. Now, in court documents obtained by AllHipHop, 50 Cent wants the whole thing tossed out, arguing Holland waited too long to filed an assault claim against him.
“Plaintiff’s claim that he suffered from severe emotional distress is undermined by the allegations that Plaintiff owns a weapon and he and his family repeatedly tried to confront Jackson,” 50 Cent’s legal team writes in the docs. “The First Amended Complaint states: ‘Plaintiff wanted to confront 50 Cent/GOONS’ and ‘plaintiff was ready to go to war with [Jackson], plaintiff family came and got him, but security had the entire street blocked off, so there was no getting near or confronting 50 Cent’ and ‘[Plaintiff’s] family returned again tried to confront 50 Cent, but Street still blocked off, 50 Cent leaves town soon after.
“Plaintiff also states that on two separate occasions, when he was at a gas station, a vehicle approached him, and he ‘grab[bed] his weapon’ and ‘came very close’ to hurting these people in these situations. Indeed, the
allegation that Jackson ‘actually came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’ and ‘pull[ed] up to plaintiff home’ does not constitute a claim for assault.”
They continue, “The alleged conduct—Jackson ‘came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’—took place over a year before this Action was commenced. Around late July or early August 2021, Plaintiff can’t remember exactly your honor, but defendant Jackson decided to come to plaintiff neighborhood, not once, but twice. This claim is thus untimely. The assault claim should therefore be dismissed for failure to state a claim because the First Amended Complaint is devoid of any allegations to support such a claim against Jackson.”
According to Holland’s initial lawsuit, Lionsgate Entertainment was aware of 50 Cent’s illegal activities and harmful behavior but still hired and allowed him to develop and produce Power.
Holland alleges that Jackson used the TV series to further intimidate and harm him, ultimately leading to the supposed intimidation campaign. Holland wants the $300 million in damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence in hiring and retention, among other charges. The lawsuit also seeks to prevent Lionsgate Entertainment from using Holland’s life story in the future.
Diddy might want to file for bankruptcy to protect his billions of dollars – according to his rival, 50 Cent.
Last month, 50 Cent took to Instagram to confirm he was working on a documentary about the mogul, who has been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and assaulting two other women.
50 said his documentary was titled “Surviving Diddy” and now he confirmed the project is in the works.
“RAPPER 👀I thought Diddy was a Billionaire music mogul, If he’s smart he will file bankruptcy now,” 50 Cent said. “Anyone with real money knows why I’m saying this. Im the best producer for the job guys. 😳here come the receipts.”
RAPPER 👀I thought Diddy was a Billionaire music mogul, If he’s smart he will file bankruptcy now. Anyone with real money knows why I’m saying this. Im the best producer for the job guys. 😳here come the receipts • https://t.co/jnbpt4VX0Bpic.twitter.com/OB8kpqdhBt
Diddy’s legal troubles began with a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, accusing him of rape and years of abuse.
The lawsuit, which was settled in less than 24 hours, accused Diddy of assaulting Cassie, trafficking her to male prostitutes, participating in “freak offs” with other men, and even blowing up Kid Cudi’s car in a jealous rage.
His lawyer asserted this was not an admission of wrongdoing, and the settlement terms remain undisclosed. The situation escalated with two more women filing lawsuits against Diddy.
Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed that he drugged and raped her in 1991, while another woman, identified as Jane Doe, accused Diddy and singer Aaron Hall of sexual assault dating back to the 1990s.
Since then, 50 Cent has been actively taunting his rival on social media. 50 Cent’s relentless mockery has included a “New Jack City” meme depicting Diddy as Nino Brown, a character from the film. 50 also posted a skit from “Chappelle’s Show” featuring a parody of Diddy’s show “Making the Band,” as performed by Dave Chappelle.
To make matters worse, former members of his inner circle have been exposing sordid allegations against the Bad Boy founder. Former Bad Boy artist Mark Curry, who has been a longtime critic of Diddy, claimed Diddy broke Kim Porter’s nose and wiretapped her. His ex-bodyguard Roger Bonds also confirmed he witnessed Diddy abusing Cassie.
Amid these controversies, Diddy temporarily stepped down as chairman of REVOLT, a network he co-founded. 50 Cent seized this opportunity to joke about purchasing the network, further heightening the tension between the two.
He also lost a partnership with the Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School in New York City, which ended their relationship with him last week.
It has been a rough few weeks for Sean “Diddy” Combs. The Revolt network founder faces multiple allegations of sexual assault and various forms of abuse. Columbus Short also suggested that Diddy made unwanted sexual advances towards him.
On Friday (December 1), Columbus Short posted a video about Diddy to his Instagram page. The clip included the Stomp the Yard actor recalling an alleged phone call from the Hip-Hop mogul.
“I’m snitching. I’m snitching in the kitchen. Diddy, I gotta tell on him.” Short started. “He tried it on me. So I know it’s true. I was married. My ex-wife. I got a phone call in the middle of the night, about 2:30 in the morning.”
The ex-choreographer for Britney Spears also added, “I picked up the phone. It was Diddy. He said, ‘Hey man, we didn’t see you at the BET Awards. What are you doing?’ I said, ‘I’m in bed with my wife.'”
According to Columbus Short, Diddy responded by letting the former Scandal cast member know that he was staying at a hotel in Beverly Hills. Short then continued, “I said, ‘Who’s over there?’ He said, ‘Just me.'”
https://www.instagram.com/p/C0UsGHPvg1y/
Columbus Short’s story cannot be confirmed at this time. His Instagram caption did lead some people to believe the 41-year-old entertainer was just trolling. Short wrote, “DIDDY DO IT? #LostFiles #backonmyfunnyshit.”
However, Claudio Jordan seemed to take what Short had to say seriously. The television personality commented, “A LOT of people got stories about this man. Like I said on my show…. A LOT of PEOPLE (not just women) have been keeping his secrets. Smh at him inviting you over to an after-party of one!”
In addition, multiple women accused Columbus Short of being abusive. Police have detained the Kansas City native on more than one occasion following accusations of domestic violence by his partners.

Kendrick Lamar closed a deal to buy a Brooklyn penthouse in November. According to the New York Times, K. Dot paid $8.6 million for his new duplex at Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Reports of Kendrick Lamar’s bid to purchase the property first surfaced in August.
Lamar’s New York pad includes four bedrooms with three and a half bathrooms. The 3,140 square feet duplex offers views of Brooklyn Bridge Park, the East River and Lower Manhattan.
K. Dot’s duplex was originally listed for sale at $8.99 million. He purchased the property through an LLC called Dogg Pound Buildings.
The Brooklyn penthouse bolstered Lamar’s real estate by adding a property on the East Coast. He already owned homes in California.
Lamar has been relatively quiet in 2023 following a busy 2022. Last year, he released his Grammy-winning album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers before leaving his longtime label TDE. A concert film of his Big Steppers Tour dropped on Amazon Prime Video later that year.
K. Dot’s TDE departure did not negatively affect his relationship with his former labelmates, such as Jay Rock. Last month, Rock said the two rappers remained close despite Lamar’s exit from the label.
“That’s my little brother,” Rock told DJ Whoo Kid in an interview. “Hollered at me the other day. That’s still bro. Ain’t nothing change.”
Lamar embarked on a new journey with his pgLang company, which he co-founded with former TDE executive Dave Free in 2020. The company is not strictly a record label but does have two artists on its roster: Baby Keem and Tanna Leone.
Earlier this year, Lamar teamed up with Baby Keem for a single titled “The Hillbillies.” He also appeared on a remix of Beyoncé’s song “America Has a Problem.” The two previously collaborated on her 2016 track “Freedom.”
Bhad Bhabie unveiled a baby bump in an Instagram post on Friday (December 1). She unexpectedly announced her pregnancy by posting two photos on her account.
The 20-year-old social media personality/rapper did not reveal the baby’s gender or expected due date. It will be her first child.
PEOPLE reported the father is Bhad Bhabie’s boyfriend Le Vaughn. Several weeks ago, she celebrated his birthday by sharing a photo of the two sitting together on Instagram.
Bhad Bhabie rose to fame thanks to her infamous appearance on the Dr. Phil show in 2016. The then-teenager memorably said, “Cash me outside, how ‘bout that?” when confronted about her behavior. The phrase went viral, quickly becoming a popular meme. She told Variety she never wanted to be famous in a 2021 interview.
But the Florida native parlayed her internet fame into a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2017. She parted ways with the label in 2021.
Bhad Bhabie also took advantage of her notoriety by creating an OnlyFans account in 2021. She claimed she made $1 million within six hours of joining the platform.
“When I turned 18, I started making so much money when I started doing OnlyFans,” she told Variety. “And when I say making money, I mean, I could retire right now if I wanted to.”
Bhad Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, said she was worth $50 million thanks to OnlyFans in 2022. Last month, she posted a statement of her earnings from the platform on Instagram Stories.
According to the statement, she pulled in more than $18 million in her first month on OnlyFans. She continued to rack up millions of dollars for several months in 2021. She did not disclose her 2022 and 2023 earnings from the subscription-based platform.
JxHines is intent on making sure R&B is here to stay. Pronounced “J X,” the rising star is currently on the road opening for Jacquees on his SINCERELY FOR YOU Tour, displaying his standout vocals and undeniable talent to major cities all across the world.
In describing himself, JxHines states, “I’m a real down-to-earth, loving type of guy. Really easy-going. Country boy from South Florida. I’m just a lover. All about the vibes, all about good energy. Good times.”
Born in Florida but based in Charlotte, North Carolina, JxHines is a singer, songwriter and producer who’s been infatuated with music since he was “in the womb.” Growing up in a family of eight kids, his father was a preacher at their family’s church. Soon, he’d find himself behind the drum kit, laying down the foundation for Sunday service to commence.
Fast forward to 2023, JxHines unveiled his newest song and visual for “Body Like SZA,” a fun, uptempo record that finds him talking his s### while reflecting on his growth as a recording artist. The accompanying music video is a nod to Flavor Flav’s VH1’s dating show, Flavor Of Love.
AllHipHop recently spoke with JxHines in downtown Los Angeles to discuss his sound, background, “Body Like SZA,” signing to Anthony Hamilton, opening for Jacquees, working with DaBaby and more.
AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?
JxHines: Unique, different. Took me a long time to build it over time. For the most part, I found a way to separate myself in a great way. Vocally, concept wise, music wise, lyric wise. All the above.
AllHipHop: When’d you realize you could do music for a living?
JxHines: I’ve been doing music since the womb, I come from a singer family. A lot of musicians, a lot of great musicians. Small town: some of the best singers and vocalists, people you’d never hear of. That place shaped me for a bigger stage in my life, so it’s in my blood. It’s me [laughs].
AllHipHop: Who are your favorite artists?
JxHines: All-time will be Michael Jackson. Hip-Hop wise, I’ll go with Outkast. Right now currently, J. Cole. Drake. R&B side, we’ll say Chris [Brown].
AllHipHop: How’d you get your name?
JxHines: My name is my name. Jay is short for my full name, then the “x” is for completion. Hines is my last name, so it’s original. It’s authentic.
AllHipHop: What inspired your new song, “Body Like SZA”?
JxHines: It’s a bar within the record. But if you listen to the song, it’s about me going from being broke to that lifestyle that I’ve seen for myself. With that comes with certain things. It was a line: “She’s working on her body all winter/She’s telling me, she wants a body like SZA. Well, do your sit-ups.” It’s more of a line in a sense of there’s all kinds of ways you can do it. It’s a bar, but it made sense to call it that because of how catchy that line was. There’s no other way it could’ve gone.
AllHipHop: Talk about the video being inspired by Flavor of Love?
JxHines: We wanted to do something different. We didn’t want to go with typical or cliché. I wanted to do something that I felt would stand out amongst the consumers, and what better way to tie it all in? I love the way Flav was able to create challenges within his show. Our team came together and said, “That’d be super super dope to create something around the ladies competing for the love.” What better way than doing it through fitness and showing love?; bigging up women, things like that. But it made sense to go with something that people can relate to. That was a relatable concept that was realistic for “Body Like SZA.”
AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?
JxHines: Probably the do-rag walking up the steps. That’s fire [laughs]. You don’t see that often. That was one of my best memories from it, the long durag. The drip, the suit, the hat on. That was really dope.
AllHipHop: You’re the first artist signed to Anthony Hamilton’s My Music Box. How’d that happen?
JxHines: It’s dope. I’ve been knowing Anthony for a while, in passing. We both were in the city of Charlotte. I was putting in a lot of work independently, he took notice. We didn’t do business right away. But eventually, we ended up coming together. I put out a series of singles and EPs, and it spoke volumes to that level. That’s what made them see okay hey, this kid has something. On top of that, my work ethic. That was really the main thing that brought him to the situation, so here we are.
AllHipHop: How excited are you to open for Jacquees?
JxHines: It’s been lit! Shout out to Jacquees. It’s been dope, a lot of love. Taking advantage of each and every city. Being able to go to each and every city, showcase our talent and get the love back, it’s been an honor. I look forward to finishing out the tour strong and one day, tour myself. For me.
AllHipHop: Is Jacquees the King of R&B?
JxHines: I respect and support him in every way. I also have great confidence with in myself.
AllHipHop: How was it collaborating with DaBaby?
JxHines: We’ve been knowing each other for a while, just the whole Charlotte scene. We all came up together. I was a promoter prior to me putting out the music. Seeing his come up, we all were at a point in our lives where he became who he became and I’m becoming who I’m becoming. A lot of work was early on. But once everything is where it’s supposed to be, you’ll definitely see a lot of that at some point for sure.
AllHipHop: Name tree things you need in the studio at all times.
JxHines: My engineer. Shout out to him, JStacks. Some hot tea, and really nothing else. I don’t need no drank, no weed. I don’t need those things.
AllHipHop: You don’t need weed in the studio?
JxHines: I mean, some people need it. I don’t rely on it, I’ll say that. I’m more one of those people that’s in tune with me, so I don’t really need it. I use it if I need it. Studio wise, I’m a blank canvas. My engineer’s more important, I need that [laughs].
AllHipHop: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
JxHines: When I’m not working, travel. I’m either traveling, or I’m playing video games. I love it, I’m a gamer. I’m just chillin’. I’m out the way with it. I’m not one of those people that got to be in every room or space to be enjoying my life. I’m just out the way.
AllHipHop: What else can we expect from you?
JxHines: Great things, a lot of stuff. I’m getting ready to drop more music, eventually another EP or album. Those are still to be determined, but the music is definitely there. Right now, we’re focusing on building the name. That’s the goal first, because I don’t want it to go over anybody’s head with such great music. I want to build my fans up organically.
Jussie Smollett’s appeal in connection to his hate crime attack hoax case just got even more complicated. On Friday (December 1, a three-judge panel in an Illinois appeals court voted two-to-one to uphold Smollett’s conviction.
Based on the ruling, Smollett may have to return to Chicago jail to serve the remainder of his 150-day sentence. The only option the actor’s legal counsel has now is to appeal the recent ruling with the Illinois Supreme Court—who will decide whether or not they will hear the case.
In 2022, Smollett was convicted on five counts of felony disorderly conduct after allegedly hiring the Osundairo brothers to stage a hate crime against himself in 2019. He was acquitted on one count. Smollett was initially charged with 16 counts of disorderly conduct.
Smollett had previously spent six days in Cook County in 2022 before he was released while attempting to appeal for his sentence to be overturned.
Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III inked a deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money APAA Sports. Taylor shared a photo of himself signing his contract with the sports agency on social media on Thursday (November 30).
Taylor, a junior defensive tackle at Miami, declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is considered one of the top defensive tackle prospects in the upcoming draft, which takes place in April.
The NFL prospect finished his college career with 64 tackles, six sacks and one interception. Taylor played in Miami’s first 10 games of the 2023 season but missed the last two with an injury. The Hurricanes ended the season with a 7-5 record.
Lil Wayne founded Young Money Sports in 2014. A few years later, he announced a merger with APAA Sports.
Taylor’s signing will bolster Lil Wayne’s agency’s presence in the NFL. Its current NFL clients include Chicago Bears offensive lineman Ja’Tyre Carter.
Lil Wayne added to his Young Money APAA Sports roster a little over a month after he joined the ownership group of a Major League Pickleball team. Weezy became a part-owner and strategic advisor for the Texas Ranchers.
“We’re so excited to have Lil Wayne on board,” Ranchers CEO Evan Floersch said. “From the get-go, we set out to build a team that, at its core, was centered in pop culture to support our mission of becoming one of the most recognized brands in American sports. Having Wayne’s guidance, along with the rest of this incredible ownership group, emphasizes our stance on redefining sports ownership and being a positive force for good in our local pickleball community and beyond.”
Lil Wayne’s moves in the sports world have not kept him from releasing new music. He and 2 Chainz just dropped their Welcome 2 Collegrove album in November.
Ari Lennox made light of a viral incident in which a fan threw a water bottle at her while she performed on Rod Wave’s Nostalgia tour. The Dreamville artist wore a helmet when she appeared on stage at their show in Oakland on Thursday night (November 30).
“My name is Ari Lennox,” she told the crowd. “Should I keep this s### on or what?”
Lennox used the helmet one day after she berated a concertgoer for throwing a bottle at her at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Wednesday (November 29). The singer stopped the concert and unleashed a tirade at Wednesday’s show.
“I’ll f### your ass up ‘cause I don’t play that,” she told the fan. “I’m a real ass b#### and I will f### your s### all the way the f### up. Don’t you ever disrespect a beautiful Black woman on the f###### stage like that. I will f###### f### you up. That’s the f### right. Who did it, b####? Come here, b####.”
She continued, “Let’s do it! Come here, b####. You a p####! That’s right, you’ll never even be as good as a p####. That’s right, b####. You’re dumb. You’re weak.”
Lennox’s microphone was cut off in the middle of Wednesday’s rant. She left the stage after scolding the bottle thrower.
Before the bottle-throwing incident, Lennox admitted it’s been hard for her opening for Rod Wave in an interview with Angela Yee. The singer questioned if her music appealed to his audience.
“It’s hard,” Lennox said. “It is because I’m opening up for young people and … You know what I realized? I think my music is a little too happy. And I mean no shade, right? But it’s too like, ‘Pressure,’ and his is like different. So, I think the people are just like, ‘What the hell is this happy s### on here?’”
Lennox’s run as Rod Wave’s opener concludes with a show in Jacksonville on December 18.

The Weeknd will be donating four million emergency meals to Gaza through his XO Humanitarian Fund.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) announced on Friday that The Weeknd, a WFP Goodwill Ambassador, has allocated $2.5 million of his Humanitarian Fund to support its response in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict.
According to the organization, the donation provided by the musician will fund the delivery of around 1.8 million pounds of food parcels, which could feed more than 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks.
“This conflict has unleashed a humanitarian catastrophe beyond reckoning. WFP is working round the clock to provide aid in Gaza but a major scale-up is needed to address the desperate level of hunger we are seeing,” WFP’s Director for the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe Region, Corinne Fleischer, said in a statement.
“Our teams need safe and sustained humanitarian access, and continued support from donors to reach as many people as we can,” Fleischer continued. “We thank Abel for this valuable contribution towards the people of Palestine. We hope others will follow Abel’s example and support our efforts.”
The Weeknd was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador in October 2021. Since his appointment, he has actively supported the WFP’s global hunger-relief mission with $1.8 million in personal donations as well as through the XO Humanitarian Fund, which has raised $5 million to date.
