Soulja Boy Goes At J. Cole, But Rethinks His Stance

Soulja Boy is a mess sometimes. Clearly he is a genius in some way or another, but he goes off so fast. At 33, he’s a young OG that a lot of people see as a legend in both technology and music. We showed him a lot of love in the past and recently interviewed him backstage at a show.

Cole World did a small interview that has been chopped to bits online by scavengers. In the interview, he talks a bit about SB. J. Cole didn’t mean no harm, but that did not matter to Soulja Boy, who went off over a very small comment. I don’t know if you can hear what he says exactly, but he seemed to suggest that he was not sure where he fit in as the younger rapper gained traction with his brand of Hip-Hop. They both came out around 2007, 2008 and, as you know, are very different.

Cole is just talking about his experience and even calls SB’s first song “classic,” so he was clear that it was not disrespect. That did not stop the “going off” of Big Soulja.

After some time, I think Soulja Boy had time to think about it. He offers so more contemplative thoughts on it in this second video. He defers to Snoop, when he said the young boy was trash. That would scar just about anybody.

Ice-T Gets Gangster As He Inducts Rage Against Machine Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Ice-T was among the presenters at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday night (November 3). The Original Gangster was on deck to induct Rage Against the Machine, who joined Sheryl Crow, DJ Kool Herc, Link Wray, Al Kooper, Chaka Khan, Missy Elliott, Willie Nelson, The Spinners and Gorge Michael in the 2023 class.

The ceremony was streamed live for the first time in the Rock Hall’s 38-year history thanks to Disney+, which provided for some colorful moments. Beforehand, Rock Hall Chairman John Sykes addressed the media room, which included AllHipHop, and suggested he was slightly nervous about what could go wrong. As it turned out, Sykes did have one thing to worry about—a barrage of cuss words. Throughout the evening, presenters and inductees alike kept letting “f-bombs” and other expletives slip. Ice-T let at least one “muthaf###in” out but kept it pretty tightened up otherwise.

“So I was minding my business right?” he began. “And I get a phone call, and my manager said they wanted me to induct somebody into some kind of awards. I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m busy. I’m doing something. I’m playing Call of Duty right now, I ain’t got no time.’ They said it’s Rage Against the Machine into the Hall of Fame. I was like, ‘Are you serious? Yo, I’m there.’ Zach, Tom, Tim and Brad—make some noise for them.”

Ice-T went on to recall how he was first introduced to Rage Against the Machine in the 1990s by Body Count guitarist Ernie C. He continued, “Let me tell you a true story. I ain’t got no teleprompter. We were playing…oh yeah, for some of you youngsters out there, I’ve made a few records in my day. I’m far from a muthaf###in’ cop. Don’t get it twisted—my little band was playing this gig at this place called Madame Wong’s in L.A. with Danzig. And my guitarist Ernie runs into this guy named Tom Morello.”

As the story goes, Ernie C was then invited to check out Rage Against the Machine at a rehearsal and he concluded they didn’t any help refining their sound, so he invited them to play with Body Count.

“Ernie tells me, ‘I found this band in L.A. They’re going to open for us,'” Ice-T explained. “I’m like, ‘Whatever, word.’ I go to soundcheck. Zack jumps five-feet in the air. I’m like, ‘That ain’t no opening band! What are you talking about?’ Right out of the gate, Rage Against the Machine wasn’t a game. In their career, they did things that impressed cats like me. You can’t impress me with normal stuff. You gotta do stuff like suing the U.S. State Department for using their music. Who does that!? Rage Against the Machine does that. How about 1993, pulling up butt naked at Lollapalooza, protesting against the PMRC [Parents Music Resource Center]. Who does that? Rage Against the Machine does. I respect the hell out of this band.”

Tom Morello was the only member from Rage Against the Machine to attend the ceremony. He proceeded to deliver a passionate acceptance speech, which—true to Rage form—challenged the current systems put in place.

“The world is worth fighting for,” he said before adding, “Dream big and don’t settle. Don’t wait for us. Rage is not here, but you are. You’re the ones who must testify.” He ended with, “History is like music—it’s not something that happens, it’s something you make.” Backstage, he posed for photos in true Rage fashion with a sign that read simply, “Cease fire.”

Rapper Tee Grizzley has exemplified the essence of giving back in his hometown of Detroit.

On Friday evening (November 3), the Detroit native transformed L. George’s Coney Island into a beacon of hope and generosity.

The rapper, who has not let fame cloud his sense of home, expressed a profound connection to L. George’s Coney Island, a place he frequented growing up.

His latest album, Tee’s Coney Island, is named after the local eatery and is a nod to his beginnings. As the line snaked out the door, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and gratitude.

Celebrating the release of his fourth album, Tee Grizzley served up hundreds of free meals to the locals, a gesture that resonated deeply with the community he holds dear.

Tee Grizzley’s favorite dishes were on the menu, and his presence inspired the locals.

“I want to spread that good energy and that positivity, and I want to spread that, especially in my community. We can do so much more if we just believe in ourselves and invest in ourselves and give our dreams a chance,” Tee Grizzley said.

The event, which saw fans and residents lining up for hours, was about more than just the food. It was a symbol of Tee Grizzley’s commitment to his roots and his desire to inspire others in the city.

OG MC Nikki D Explains Problems With Female Rappers Like Ice Spice & Megan Thee Stallion

Nikki D, a seasoned Hip-Hop veteran, hails from the Bricks of New Jersey and is renowned for her candidness. In today’s era of heightened social media influence, her voice has the ability to resonate more powerfully than ever before. She has scrutinized the current state of affairs, including a critique of Ice Spice. The outspoken MC recently characterized the present generation of commercial artists as the “prostitution era of rap,” encompassing a multitude of contemporary talents like Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.

From Nikki’s perspective, her intent is not merely to cast blame but to also protect and guide her younger colleagues in the rap industry. Nikki D indelibly etched her name into the annals of Hip-Hop during the late 1980s and early 1990s, notably as the first woman to be signed by Def Jam. Although she may not enjoy the same level of recognition as some of her illustrious contemporaries such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte or Salt-N-Pepa, her influence has transcended generations and left an enduring mark on the culture. She has effectively paved the way for future female artists, leaving an indelible legacy in the process. There’s a lot of tough love here. Our full interview is forthcoming.

AllHipHop: You recently made headlines and you got everybody’s attention, including my whole team. We were all passing this this messaging that you had about the “prostitution era” of Hip-Hip. Prostitution all because of a performance by Ice Spice, which got everybody talking including yourself. Let’s talk about that.

Nikki D: When I call it the prostitution era, it’s simply what I saw with the [Ice Spice] performance, right. I was home chilling sipping on some wine.  I saw the the video online and I said “What is this?” I looked at it and shorty’s dress was literally above her butt. And I was like nothing was out but skin a##, like this is not the girl that I remember. I felt like she had kind of pushed herself into a place of no return. Now when you out there it’s like walking outside, butt-necked, what else do we have?

Where’s the surprise? Where’s the mystery? Even Meg [Megan Thee Stallion] for instance. I loved Megan Thee Stallion initially. Meg had bars, used to freestyle…I’m not saying that the only way I could be pleased with you as a female rapper is that you need my approval, that you need to have bars, but at least there was some artistry there.  There was some talent. There there was some rhymes. There was something. Because we didn’t ay the bricks for nothing, so you two could come out and turn around showing a##.  And then every lyric is my P, my a##, my this my, my that. And they’re raised differently in this generation, just in general just as people, not even as artists. Their skin is not tough. Like you can’t say anything about them. Prime example: Joe Budden. You do a critique on Drake’s album. Drake, you’re a billionaire damn near, but you start crying like crazy when Joe was like I don’t really like the whole thing and then you start to name call.

AllHipHop: He might have been hurt.

Nikki D: It’s OK for people not to like your music. It’s OK for people to have an opinion. It’s not called hate, it’s called I’m an individual and I like what I like. What’s wrong with that? This generation I feel like just toughen up a little bit more.

AllHipHop: To quickly paint the picture for  folks because at some point this will be an old headline. So, Ice Spice came out on Halloween weekend at  Powerhouse Philly in a red dress, very tight, as Betty Boop. It just didn’t fit. She kind of kept pulling it down and was very uncomfortable looking. She definitely looked uncomfortable and she was actually performing my favorite song from her, which is “Deli.”

Nikki D: That actually goes hard. Yeah “Deli” goes hard.

AllHipHop: It wasn’t her best performance. I don’t know if it was the venue or the city or just her having an off nigh,t but it definitely wasn’t really her best performance. So now, Gen Z or millennials. That generation is now coming for you. What are they saying?

Subscribe to AllHipHopTV on YouTube For More Exclusive Content.

Nikki D: Well first thing they say is—and I always like to preference my own self with this when y’all come for me—I know I’m old. I know I had one big record. I know they don’t do it the way I used to do it anymore. Go ahead. I know all that so again, I just go back to y’all getting butt hurt. Y’all don’t know how to really take a punch or criticism. I put a little story up yesterday on my Instagram page and I was like they coming for me. They like, “First of all ‘You old’.” I tell you what, you would be so lucky to get the age that I am and you would be so lucky to get  royalty checks that I got just two weeks ago in the mail 30 years later from that one song. You would be so lucky to see all those things years later, you feel me? Because what I did was timeless. I didn’t do trendy. I did classic.

AllHipHop (DJ Thoro): The problem is a lot of artists that try to bash start with the agism. They don’t do history so historically speaking when you were out that was going on, but it wasn’t celebrated to the forefront how it is now. So you had groups a lot of people don’t know Easy-E put a group out called H.W.A – Hoez With Attitude. On Rap-A-Lot, there was a rapper called Choice and she was exactly how they’re rapping now. Again, it wasn’t celebrated it. Master P had an artist called Mercedes. You look at the album cover guess what she’s doing…a## out, privates showing.

AllHipHop (Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur): The other side of it is that there was just a healthy balance going on.

Nikki D: There was a balance. That’s the problem. so you take this generation now, what’s the balance of of this? Where’s the Lauryn Hills, where’s the MC Lytes? Here’s the thing, when you talk about that history, right? It was inappropriate [then], even though it was happening. Hence the reason why it never hit the forefront. They weren’t major acts. It wasn’t anything we as a people or we as a culture was celebrating. Put something out there that’s gonna be [a part of your] legacy. Put something out there that’s gonna actually push something off to your people right now we didn’t have.

At the end of the day, you wasn’t going to be on a big stage with that unless those big dogs brought you out, because you wasn’t going to sell records. You couldn’t play nowhere like that. For me it’s the manufactured Black woman.

AllHipHop: Who’s responsible for putting  this content out? Because you’re being rewarded. If it’s not rewarded, they won’t do it.

Nikki D: Absolutely. If I’m paying you to be this person, you’re gonna be this person. Programming is everything and people don’t understand that that’s what marketing is. I’m gonna program you to like this image right here. I’m going to program you to be this person  How many videos do you see online every day where girls are three, four, five six seven, eight, nine, 10-years old turning around shaking their ass because this is what they see?

Even if their mothers are at work, this image is into their face and it’s so much of it that now this is all we see. So when we have this idea of what the Black woman is today, we just look at the images we see.

Now, do we need to see Michelle Obama [exclusively], no! Do we need to see Sistah Souljah all the time, no! Do we need to see the super righteous [woman], no. But we need balance and we don’t have it. We need to have a Lauryn Hill. We need to have a Queen Latifah. We need to have a Nikki D. We need to have a MC Lyte.

DJ Khaled Dragged Over Silence On Israel-Hamas War After Insulting Picture Goes Viral

Renowned producer DJ Khaled became a trending topic on Saturday, November 4, for all the wrong reasons.

Numerous displeased users flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to criticize DJ Khaled for not speaking out about Israel’s conflict with Hamas, including the rising death toll among Palestinians as the Israeli military continues its assault on the Gaza Strip.

The conflict, which began on October 7th, escalated when militants from Hamas initiated terror attacks in Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 men, women, and children and the abduction of hundreds more.

Since then, at least 9,000 Palestinians have been reported killed and over 32,000 injured in Israeli airstrikes and a ground assault in Northern Gaza.

Today, thousands of people condemned the war and called for a ceasefire during protests in Washington D.C., New York and London. During a rally in Paris, a woman was photographed holding a sign that read “DJ Khaled is a b****.” The image went viral on X, racking up over 2 million views and almost 5000 likes in a few hours.

https://twitter.com/LouisPisano/status/1720826352184513019

“idkiyk but they eating you up in these comments,” another user wrote. Another angry person said “DJ Khaled always aggravated me but now I can’t hit skip fast enough #FreePalestine.”

Another said, “DJ Khaled know the Jews run the music industry n would blackball him if he supported his own people smh what a coward.”

Some users defended him, noting that he obviously had nothing to do with the war.

“Did DJ Khaled send those terrorists to go killing Isrealis in their homes, raping their daughters, kidnapping their kids and beheading their captives? You just want to blackmail a peace loving man into supporting terrorism,” one user snapped..

It seems improbable that any statement from DJ Khaled would appease the public, yet this did not prevent individuals from condemning the “We The Best” music mogul for his lack of comment.

This pattern of expectation and reaction isn’t unique to DJ Khaled, as evidenced by other celebrities who have spoken about the conflict. Rap icon Drake faced criticism for initially withholding his views on the war despite his Jewish heritage.

However, the Toronto-based rapper eventually joined a collective called Artists 4 Ceasefire in calling for a ceasefire.

Despite this collective appeal for peace, some still found reasons to fault Drake’s position. Selena Gomez was also recently targeted by fans for her silence on the matter.

Ultimately, Gomez broke her silence by posting a statement on Instagram. Her words were quickly criticized, with some accusing her of being self-centered, which led her to abandon social media following the severe backlash completely.

NoCap Is Responsible For Viral A.I. Cartoon Rap Memes—Well, His Lyrics Are

It’s been said imitation is the biggest form of flattery, but NoCap isn’t pleased with the current Artificial Intelligence trend that has his lyrics posted all over social media.

The Alabama rapper actually took to Twitter recently and expressed his disdain for the latest viral trend—which pairs lyrics from popular rap songs with meme-style images of fictional animated characters such as Peter Griffin of Family Guy and Harry Potter.

It appears the main reason NoCap is upset over the trend is seemingly due to the fact that his bars are going viral without being attributed to the lyricist who penned them. “I don’t respect des lil quotes stealing my flow & s### going viral,” NoCap wrote in a tweet stamped with evidence of the aforementioned memes.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CzLD0f2OsEi/

Even though the bars are slightly different, the interpolation of the cadence and overall punchline is borderline plagiarism. At the end of the day, even though the “Vaccine” rapper is frustrated by the trend, we all know there is no such thing as bad publicity—for the most part.

Tupac Shakur Honored With His Own Street In Oakland

The city of Oakland has renamed a local street to honor slain rap star Tupac Shakur. The “California Love” icon called Oakland his second home, and he launched his career with one of the biggest groups in the city, Digital Underground.

Shakur, a New York City native, grew up in Baltimore. His parents then moved to the Bay Area, where he spent his formative years.

As reported by ABC 7, Tupac Shakur Way now sits at the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Van Buren Avenue. Longtime DJ and radio host Sway Calloway was on-site for the ceremony and noted, “I’m proud to be here today to be part of the street naming ceremony. I see murals all over the world of 2Pac. Was only right that we have a street named after him, correct?

“So let’s celebrate today with the Shakur family. And thank you. Your family has been through a lot. And still, you stand here strong.”

The street naming comes after the recent arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who’s been charged as an accomplice in the September 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.

Coi Leray Reacts To Chrisean Rock Saying She Threw A Phone At Her

In addition to DJ Akademiks versus Saucy Santana and Sexyy Red versus Khia, there is even more social media beef happening at the moment. Apparently, there is also bad blood brewing between Chrisean Rock and Coi Leray.

Jason Lee recently sat down with Chrisean Rock for an interview. During the conversation, Rock spoke about a supposed incident involving Coi Leray that allegedly led to a cellphone being tossed at the “Players” hitmaker.

“I thought she wanted to do a collab or some music, but really, she was just trying to out me out the plan and bag my n#### and some other s###,” Rock recalled, referring to her on-again, off-again boyfriend Blueface. Apparently, the two women ran into each other at an event with GloRilla.

The Crazy In Love reality show star also added, “[Coi Leray was] in everybody’s face, like, ‘Hi, everybody. What’s up, Glo?’ She knows we [are] not cool… You can ask anybody that was right there. N####, I took my phone, I’ll buy a new one, I threw that b#### at her face.”

According to Chrisean Rock, she still has an unreleased, unfinished feature verse by Coi Leray but the song never came out after the two women fell out. Rock claimed that Leray had a “hidden agenda” behind wanting to work together.

A clip of Chrisean’s comments went viral on social media this week. Eventually, Coi Leray decided to address the situation. The Republic recording artist called cap on the story. She posted, “Never got hit in the face with a phone in my life.”

Last month, Jason Lee published an interview with Blueface and his current fiancée, Jaidyn Alexis. That episode of The Jason Lee Show included Blueface implying that he had sex with Coi Leray. When Lee mentioned Leray’s name, Blue responded, “Been there, done that already.”

DJ Kool Herc Breaks Down In Tears As He’s Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

DJ Kool Herc was among the class of 13 inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Friday night (November 3) at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Following an introduction by LL COOL J, DJ Kool Herc walked arm-in-arm with his sister Cindy Campbell to accept the Musical Influence honor. But before he could even get to the stage, Kool Herc began to cry, overwhelmed with emotion. As LL COOL J noted in his speech, August 11, 2023 marked the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, the same date in 1973 Kool Herc and Campbell threw their iconic back to school jam at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx.

As a result, DJ Kool Herc is often referred to as the Godfather of Hip-Hop, a title he clearly doesn’t take lightly. AllHipHop was backstage as Kool Herc took the stage to accept his trophy from LL COOL J. Once at the podium, DJ Kool Herc again couldn’t contain his emotion. Chuck D, who was on site alongside fellow Public Enemy member Flavor Flav, watched quietly as history unfolded.

“Herc used two turntables to isolate these hot instrumental breaks of classic soul and R&B tracks like James Brown’s ‘Give It Up & Turn It Loose’ and kicked the dance floor into a frenzy,” LL COOL J said. “Soon, all of New York City knew him as DJ Kool Herc. Herc had learned about the dancehall music and toasting he heard in his native country of Jamaica. He moved to the Bronx with his family when he was 12 and he molded it into a new form of music that evolved into a street culture—DJing, rapping or MCing, b-boying, better known as breakdancing, writing, better known as graffiti—Herc has his hand in every area of Hip-Hop.”

Kool Herc joins Kate Bush, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, The Spinners, Link Wray, Chaka Khan, Missy Elliott, Al Kooper, Bernie Taupin and Don Cornelius as the latest inductees into the famed Rock Hall. The show, recorded live for the first time in Rock Hall history, will be streamed on Disney+.

Young Dolph Murder Case: Suspect Hernandez Govan Meets With New Judge

Hernandez Govan, the man who’s been indicted for facilitating the murder of Young Dolph, has reportedly met with a new judge overseeing the case to bring justice to the slain Memphis rap star.

Young Dolph was shot and killed in November 2021 in Memphis outside of his favorite bakery, Makeda’s Homemade Cookies. Justin Johnson, Jermarcus Johnson, Cornelius Smith and Hernandez Govan have all been charged in connection with his murder.

As previously reported, the judge who was previously on the case, Judge Lee Coffee, had to recuse himself. The order to remove Judge Coffee came via the Court of Criminal Appeals after it was ruled that Coffee couldn’t be impartial in the case.

In 2022, one of the four individuals accused in Dolph’s murder, Justin Johnson (also known as “Straight Drop”), released a song on YouTube titled “No Statements” recorded over a phone from jail. Upon learning of the song, the judge contacted the jail and placed Johnson in administrative isolation, despite the warden’s belief that Johnson hadn’t violated any rules by recording the song.

In its ruling, the Court of Criminal Appeals stated, “It would appear to a reasonable person that Judge Coffee has a prejudice of a personal character directed at the defendant.”

According to FOX 13, Govan is gearing up to defend himself in front of Judge Jennifer Mitchell, against allegations he came up with a plan to kill the chart-topper. Judge Mitchell and Hernandez Govan, who was released on a $90,000 bond in May and has been on house arrest ever since, met for the first time inside Criminal Court Division 10’s courtroom on Thursday (November 2).

Judge Mitchell reminded Govan not to violate his bond under any circumstance. Govan is expected back in court on December 14.

PnB Rock Murder Case: New Suspects Arrested, More Details Emerge About The Conspiracy

Authorities have made significant progress with the arrest of two additional suspects in the ongoing investigation into the murder of rapper PnB Rock.

Tremont Jones and Wynisha Evans now face charges related to the September 2022 robbery and fatal shooting of the artist at a popular South L.A. eatery, Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles.

Jones, who has a prior felony record, was charged with robbery, conspiracy, and illegal firearm possession. Evans was charged with being an accessory after the fact.

Both suspects pleaded not guilty during their arraignment at the Compton Courthouse, as confirmed by Venusse Dunn, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen, was dining with his girlfriend when a teenager, allegedly involved in a plot with Jones, approached and demanded jewelry.

After Allen’s refusal, the teenager shot him multiple times before fleeing with his father, Freddie Lee Trone, who is also implicated in the crime.

The new charges against Jones and Evans were revealed following a recent court hearing, shedding light on their alleged roles in the crime.

According to prosecutors, Jones provided the firearm used in the murder, while Evans assisted Trone in escaping to Nevada.

The arrest of Jones and Evans adds to the list of suspects, which includes Trone and his teenage son, both charged with murder, robbery, and conspiracy, and Trone’s wife, Shauntel, charged with accessory after the fact.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Jones remains incarcerated with bail set at $1 million, while Evans was released under the county’s new zero-bail policy for non-violent charges.

Jones, Evans, and Trone are expected back in court for a hearing in December.

Gillie Da King Says R. Kelly Beat Wallo In Prison Talent Show

Gillie da King is clowning his cousin Wallo 267 by teasing him over his long stint in prison.

Before Wallo became a highly recognized and respected motivational speaker and host of one of the culture’s hottest podcasts, “Million Dollaz Worth of Game,” he served a 20-year bid in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for armed robbery.

Wallo went in at 17 and got out at 37, according to a Change.org petition, and he is currently on probation until 2048. The running joke, and at one point a hilarious part of the podcast, was Wallo’s adventures in jail.

Now, Gillie, who was a part of Philly’s Major Figgas group with Wallo, has taken to social media to poke fun at his own cousin.

Gillie captioned an Instagram post of R. Kelly singing acapella his hit song “Bump and Grind,” saying, “@wallo267 won 3 straight prison talent shows he wouldn’t of won a 4th with R in there I don’t care how much twerking Lo Did.”

All jokes aside, Wallo 267 continues to use his platform to inspire people— recounting some of the life lessons that he learned behind bars and how they have impacted him and turned him into the man he is today.

One lesson is to be strong enough to cry. In a recent video, while Gillie made fun of him, he told his 2.4 million followers that when he broke down and cried, he was able to let a lot of pain go. “It was therapeutic,” he said.

His message resonated with many of his fans. “Thank you for this one,” one person said, adding, “Being HARD all the time….is CORNEY.”

Another commented, “Nothing wrong with letting out that PAIN…if you don’t you’ll keep yourself in a mental JAIL‼️”

One comment echoed the social media influencer’s remarks, saying, “Crying is cleansing.”

Friends and family of Wallo are still pushing to get him off probation and are sending a petition to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. The petition has received over 200,000 signatures over the last two years.

Drake Claims Title For Highest-Grossing Rap Touring Act Of All Time

Drake has made music history yet again. According to Billboard, the OVO Sound boss has sold more than 3.9 million concert tickets, grossing roughly $472.9 million.

Over the course of his career, Drake has performed 304 shows in all of his tours. His first tour concert was at Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania on April 9, 2010. That night, he and his team made $191,000, which is minimal compared to the $13.5 million at the O2 Arena in London in April 2019.

Runner up to that top spot is Jay-Z, who’s made roughly $430.5 million over the 402 shows he’s performed over his lifetime. His biggest reported show is actually in his hometown of Brooklyn. During a three-day mega series, he pulled in $7.4 million while setting up shop at the Barclays Center in September and October 2012.

Fetty Wap To Drop First Album Since 2015

Earlier this year, William “Fetty Wap” Maxwell II received a six-year federal prison sentence for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. However, the New Jersey-raised rhymer will continue to put out music.

300 Entertainment announced a new Fetty Wap project will arrive before the end of the year. King Zoo will be the first official full-length album from the Grammy-nominated artist since 2015.

An R&B-infused single titled “1738” featuring fellow New Jersey native Coi Leray dropped this week. Fetty’s King Zoo studio LP is expected to hit DSPs on Black Friday, November 24.

Prior to his conviction, Fetty Wap became a mainstream Hip-Hop artist following the success of his breakout song “Trap Queen” in 2014. The Recording Industry Association of America certified “Trap Queen” as Diamond (10 million units).

Fetty also earned a 6x-Platinum plaque for the “679” single. His self-titled debut album from 2015 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 129,000 first-week units. Fetty Wap reached 2x-Platinum status three years later.

Last year saw Fetty Wap release “Sweet Yamz” as a remix of Devin Morrison and Masego’s “Yamz” collaboration. Fetty said at the time, “I really connected with the original song ‘Yamz’ from the first time I heard it… I immediately knew I wanted to flip it and had to do a Zoomix!”

Meek Mill Responds To Dee-1 Criticizing Him For Glorifying Violence While Promoting Social Justice Reform

Meek Mill has released countless street anthems. He has also partnered with several billionaires to launch the Reform Alliance, an organization working to change probation and parole laws around the country.

One fellow Hip-Hop artist recently shared his thoughts on Meek Mill’s transition between rapping about street life and promoting social justice reform. New Orleans native Dee-1 addressed Meek and his MMG mentor Rick Ross on Sway In The Morning. He also mentioned Jim Jones of the Dipset crew.

“Jim Jones, you can do better, brother. I love you too much to not be honest with you. Rick Ross, you can do better, brother. Meek Mill, you can do better, brother,” Dee-1 stated. He then added, “I love you too much to not be honest with you. Are you the face of prison reform? Or are you sitting here on your new song with Ross talking about getting somebody murked and shot at the red light?”

Additionally, Dee-1 said, “But this man was glorifying getting people killed as of a week ago. Like, what are you doing, bro? Lil Snupe really got killed, that broke your heart. You wear him around your neck. Why are you glorifying the same thing?”

Addarren “Lil Snupe” Ross, a musical protege of Meek Mill, lost his life to gun violence on June 20, 2013. The up-and-coming Dream Chasers Records rapper from Jonesboro, Louisiana was only 18 years old at the time of his murder.

Meek Mill & Rick Ross Prepare To Drop A Joint Album

“I don’t call you out because I got a problem with you, man. Like, I wish we could go get lunch right now, me and any of them,” said Dee-1.

He continued, “I love you too much to not be honest with you. That’s what it is, bro. So yeah, if anybody feels bad about being called out, it’s like, let’s talk. Let’s talk about it and let’s just figure out what we can do better.”

Meek Mill got wind of Dee-1’s comments. In response, the Dream Chasers leader posted on his Instagram Story, “Nah, we do everything, lol. I was rapping this way when I became the face of reform… That’s how I got there, y’all forgot that fast.”

Rick Ross and Meek Mill reunited to drop the upcoming collaborative Too Good To Be True studio album on November 10. The project will likely host the tracks “Shaq & Kobe” and “Lyrical Eazy.” Dee-1 released his UNO album on September 8.

Akademiks Reacts To Internet Saying Saucy Santana Got The Win After Making Him Cry

DJ Akademiks regularly goes back and forth with celebrities. The controversial podcaster/streamer often finds success with verbal jousting because of his filter-less commentary. However, did Ak meet his match when facing off against Saucy Santana?

DJ Akademiks and Saucy Santana’s ongoing feud extends from a months-long dispute between Akademiks and City Girls rapper Yung Miami. Then Santana jumped into the situation to defend his longtime friend.

After Akademiks called Saucy Santana a “batty man” and challenged him to meet up for a confrontation, Santana clapped back. The Outside mixtape creator called out the media personality and threatened to sexually assault him.

In response to Santana’s takedown, Akademiks broke down during a live broadcast, seemingly upset that he was afraid of getting “canceled” if he fired back at the openly gay man. The teary-eyed stream led to social media users clowning Ak.

“And to [you] w##### who wanted to see me [canceled], 😭😭😭😭 try again imma keep talking s### bout all of ya. Ps. I talk way more s### to and about n##### than women [and] gays lol nobody [covers] that tho. 🤷‍♂️,” tweeted Ak in reaction to the online conversation.

The Off The Record host also added, “They gon do [what] they gon do, rage. Them hating ass hoes and weird n##### think they finally got a W on me 😭😭. Let them enjoy it. I’m back on [everybody’s] head top tonight. Life goes on.”

Meanwhile, Hip-Hop legend Queen Latifah weighed in on the matter. The Grammy and Emmy winner took to her Instagram Story to scold Akademiks for his treatment of Black women over the years.

“It’s crazy to me how DJ Akademiks is crying scared to say anything to Saucy Santana because he’s a gay man and he’s scared of getting ‘canceled,’ but has said some of the most outlandish, vile, disrespectful, and demeaning things to Black women with absolutely no fear whatsoever,” Latifah wrote.

Akon Threatens Defamation Lawsuit Following Suge Knight’s “Disgusting” Rape Allegations

Akon has doubled down on his response to the rape allegations that Suge Knight accused him of on the inaugural episode of his new podcast series with threats of a lawsuit.

According to a TMZ report published Thursday (November 2), Akon vehemently denied Knights’s allegations that he raped an underage girl in his studio. Even though Kon issued a rebuttal shortly after Knight made the claim on his Collect Calls podcast on October 24, he has once again fired back to maintain his innocence.

The Senegal native has since responded, saying, “I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me.”

Akon also clarified he hasn’t had any sort of communication with Knight whatsoever and claims the former Death Row Records executive used a years-old soundbite for the podcast without his consent.

“I’ve never called, received or had any contact with Suge Knight since he has been incarcerated,” Akon said in part. “My voice you heard on his podcast was as a soundbite previously recorded from an interview I did with DJ Vlad three years ago regarding Suge Knight in 2009.”

Akon went on to add that he’d “never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast,” while also stating that he plans to uplift Knight in prayer while mobilizing his legal counsel to subpoena him.

“It’s unfortunate that I have to defend myself from these lies and I will be involving my legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Knight, my prayers for him will still continue,” he said.

Even though Akon claims he hasn’t had any contact with Knight since he was incarcerated, they’ve certainly had multiple run-ins throughout the years. Knight reportedly levied legal action against a member of Akon’s team in 2009 after the individual purportedly knocked him out.

Sexyy Red Says Khia’s “Ol Bones” Will Get Dragged In Real Life

Some people believe Sexyy Red is playing with fire at this point. The “SkeeYee” rapper continues to throw shots at Khia after the rapper-turned-internet personality delivered a scathing rant directed at Red.

The beef took off online after Khia expressed having a problem with fans claiming that newcomers like Sexyy Red and Sukihana are like new versions of the “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)” performer.

“I’m ’bout tired of y’all comparing me to these hoes,” said Khia on her internet show. “I said, ‘My neck, my back, my p####, and my crack.’ Not these n##### out here, these hoes out here.”

Those comments led to Sexyy Red calling Khia a “washed up hag” and a “hater.” Khia fired back with a lengthy verbal attack that left many social media users calling the move a clear victory in the battle.

“We the people versus fugly, non-sexy, f##### up-ass Red,” Khia recited. “Your ass is being charged with not being ashamed of your g###### self. Doing hoe s### and being mad about it.”

She continued, “Being a deadbeat baby mama, a deadbeat daddy, a deadbeat daughter and a deadbeat, Young Thugga-looking-ass b####. Skin looking like a wrinkled bed sheet.”

However, Red did not accept defeat. She went on to compare Khia to Martin Lawrence’s character in Blue Streak. In addition, the St. Louis-bred breakout star of 2023 had more to say to her current adversary.

“Khia will get dem ol bones dragged in real life but she don’t got enough money to [be] in the same room as me 💋,” Sexyy Red posted on the X platform on November 2.

However, Blueface insists he’s done with Chrisean Rock and says his ex is trying to make Jaidyn Alexis mad. He accused Rock of recently following him to Miami and booking into the same hotel as him but said he rejected her.

In response, Chrisean Rock shared a screenshot of an alleged DM from Blueface sending her his hotel room number. The “Baby Father Drama” hitmaker claimed she left him that morning and blocked him “after linking.”

Rock said Blueface is “losing it,” and questioned why he keeps tweeting about her and other rappers.

“Why the f### are you tweeting me, Lil Mabu, Rico, Cinco, she asked. “They my friends for real. But Blue, he don’t care. He don’t like me talking to any n#####.”

She continued, “Why the f### you have to tweet me? For clout? Stop acting like you obsessed with me and really just be hating the f### out of me.”
