First Week Sales Projections For Chris Brown’s ‘Breezy’ Are In

Will Chris Brown earn another Number One? According to music industry prognosticators, it appears Breezy will not make it to the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 chart out the gate.

HitsDailyDouble projects Breezy will open with 60,000-70,000 first-week units. Chris Brown’s tenth studio LP is presently expected to miss the #1 spot on next week’s Billboard 200.

Lil Durk dropped the deluxe version of 7220 on the same day Breezy landed on DSPs. HDD has the extended version of 7220 bringing in another 65,000-75,000 units over this tracking period.

Growin’ Up by Luke Combs is part of the three-way chart race as well. The Country album also looks to amass around 65,000 to 75,000 first-week units.

Other debuts include R&B singer/songwriter Giveon’s Give or Take. The 15-track project will likely open with 33,000-38,000 first-week units. Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout, which got a deluxe/vinyl release, is on pace to collect 20,000-25,000 units this week.

If HDD is correct and Chris Brown’s Breezy only tops off with 70,000 first-week units, it would be a decline from 2019’s Indigo. That project premiered at #1 with 108,000 album-equivalent units. 2020’s Slime & B mixtape with rapper Young Thug peaked at #24.

Throughout his career, Chris Brown has scored three Number Ones on the Billboard 200. Indigo spent one week in the top spot. Furthermore, 2011’s F.A.M.E. and 2012’s Fortune remained at No 1. for one week, respectively. Brown also has ten Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200.

Breezy includes features by Lil Durk, Capella Grey, Fivio Foreign, Lil Wayne, Yung Bleu, Lil Baby, Wizkid, H.E.R., Bryson Tiller, Ella Mai, EST Gee, Jack Harlow, Blxst and Tory Lanez. Chris Brown tapped Ye Ali, Nate Rhoads, Yonni, Leon YoungBlood, and others to handle the album’s production.

Drake Becomes Fifth Act In History With At Least Eleven No.1 Albums

Aubrey Drake Graham has established himself as one of the most commercially successful artists of the last decade. The OVO Sound boss continues to rack up accolades for his already illustrious career thanks to his latest effort, Honestly, Nevermind.

This week saw Drake’s name added to an exclusive list of legends. Drizzy is now just the fifth act in music history to have more than ten No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.

Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind debuted at #1 on the latest Billboard 200. The 35-year-old rapper/singer joins The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), and Barbra Streisand (11) on the all-time rankings of musicians with the most No. 1 projects.

Honestly, Nevermind started atop the Billboard 200 with 204,000 equivalent album units. That opening total is significantly lower than Drizzy’s previous studio LP. 2021’s Certified Lover Boy also launched at #1 on the Billboard 200 but managed to collect 613,000 first-week units.

Drake Could Have The No. 1 Album & No. 1 Single At The Same Time

Additionally, Honestly, Nevermind brought in the fourth-largest streaming week of 2022 (250 million streams). Drake’s new collection only follows Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (357 million streams), Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (343 million streams), and Future’s I Never Liked You (284 million streams).

Un Verano Sin Ti currently sits at #2 on the Billboard 200. Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache slipped three spots to #7. Khaza by Kevin Gates debuted at #8. After hitting #1 earlier this year, Future’s I Never Liked You slides one position to #6. Kendrick Lamar’s former #1, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, dropped from #7 to #9.

Honestly, Nevermind only has one feature performance. Industry forecasters predict Drake’s “Jimmy Cooks” with 21 Savage could start off at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. If “Jimmy Cooks” does become a Number One single, Drake would also earn his 11th chart-topping Hot 100 song.

Musical Artist DJ Mirzaaghazadeh explains how you can use that power to your advantage. With music, connect with your inner self and tap into its limitless capabilities.

Empower Your Core

Through music as a channel, you can release your pent-up feelings. Be it the negative ones of anger and anxiety or positive ones like excitement and happiness. Music gives your inner self a voice. They say that music speaks to you. But DJ Mirzaaghazadeh puts forth a groundbreaking theory – it isn’t music that speaks to you. It is your inner self speaking to you using music as a medium. That perfectly sums up why the same melodies and lyrics mean one thing to one person and something entirely different to another.

Create A Therapeutic Environment

DJ Mirzaaghazadeh suggests plugging in your headphones as a relaxing way to turn any activity into a way to reach your core. It is a proven way to bring out your innermost self.

Nourish Your Imagination

Music lets your inner child break free. It does not judge, and it does not restrict.

DJ Mirzaaghazadeh says, “On most days, we keep our feelings caged up, not realizing how we’re pushing our deepest self even deeper down.”

Music releases our inner self. Which helps us connect with who we really are. DJ Mirzaaghazadeh asks every person to give music a chance to change their lives for the better. So, go ahead and play some tunes and connect with your inner self!

Chadwick Boseman’s Widow And Parents Get Less Than The Government In Estate Settlement

Chadwick Boseman died of cancer a little less than three years ago, but his monies are just now being divided.

He died of cancer in 2020.

But, the movie stars did not leave a will or a trust. Now, his family will split the money. Moreover, the government will get more money than both of them.

According to Shadow & Act, Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, the widow of the mega star actor, will receive $1.15 million. His parents, Leroy and Caroline Boseman, will also receive $1.15 million. Meanwhile, because there was no will or living trust, the government will receive $1.5 million.

His wife was appointed the state representative, with a clause of limited authority.

The legal fees amounted to $900,000 as well.

Additionally, his widow was reimbursed for $47,000 in funeral costs, a mausoleum crypt in South Carolina and also mausoleum crypt for the parents to be laid to rest next to their son.

Boseman‘s estate was valued at under $4 million. That amount included numerous residual monies that were derived since March 2021.

It should be noted that Boseman appeared in several blockbuster movies by Marvel Entertainment, including the Black Panther movie which grossed over $1 billion. This does not consider the movies where he played icons like Thurgood Marshall, James Brown and Jackie Robinson.

Rest In Peace, Chadwick.

Is Lil Tjay Paralyzed After Being Shot 7 Times?

These damn rumors. Sometimes they are true and sometimes they are false. Other times, they are sad. This is one of those times. The latest is that Lil Jay might be paralyzed from being shot numerous times. He was shot seven times and two of those went into his back region.

Right now, there are no credible sources or reports that say that he is crippled. I have seen articles that suggest he will be crippled or paralyzed. Basically, they have stated that he’s having very minimal movement in the legs.

For now, we have no valid sources – like Lil TJay’s actual friends and family – telling about him being paralyzed. So let’s have some positive energy and not believe anything for certain. Social media is a sad place.

Teen Busted At Dorm For Slaying Of Rapper Moneygang Vontae

Cops in the Bronx have collard a suspect they believe was involved in the shocking broad daylight murder of rapper Moneygang Vontae.

Moneygang Vontae, born Avanti Frowner, 27, was a Chicago native in town to shoot a music video.

He had just left an eye doctor’s appointment when five men targeted him for his flashy jewelry.

The aspiring artist was shot and killed during a struggle on June 9th inside The Amazing Community Pharmacy on Tremont Ave.

Late last week, police arrested an 18-year-old suspect named River Jones. The cops busted the teenager in his dorm room at Monroe College in New Rochelle.

Crystal clear surveillance footage captured the struggle, as well as Jones’ involvement, although the cops have yet to reveal if he was the trigger man or not.

Jones is scheduled to be arraigned this week. Police are still looking for the four other suspects on the loose.

Megan Thee Stallion Drags Stupid Ass Men After Roe Vs. Wade Decision

Megan Thee Stallion spoke out against the U.S. Supreme Court during her set at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday.

A leaked Politico report revealed earlier this year that the Supreme Court was considering overturning Roe v Wade.

The Supreme Court overturned the decision on Friday, allowing individual U.S. states to make abortion illegal.

During the middle of her performance, Megan Thee Stallion spoke on the United States Supreme Court’s landmark decision, which means U.S. women no longer have the constitutional right to get an abortion.

The court overturned the 1973 ruling – which protected a woman’s constitutional right to have an abortion.

“You know I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say something about these stupid-ass men… I want to have it on the m############ record that the hot boys and the hot girls do not support this b####### that y’all campaign for. My body is my m############ choice.”

This decision will now allow individual U.S. states to make abortion illegal.

Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen also dedicated a duet to the U.S. Supreme Court at Glastonbury Festival as well.

The “Good 4 U” singer brought out Liltly Allen during her set for a surprise rendition of Lily’s 2009 song “F### You,” dedicating the song to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Lizzo And Live Nation Donate $1 Million To Planned Parenthood

After this week’s historic Supreme Court decision that reversed Roe vs. Wade, rapper and singer Lizzo has donated seven figures to a non-profit to ensure some women in need of reproductive medical attention can get the proper care.

The “Truth Hurts” chart-topper pledged some of the proceeds from her “Special Tour” to Planned Parenthood on Friday (June 24th), hours after abortion was outlawed in about 19 states and a judgment that protected women’s rights to release children was stripped before American eyes.

Live Nation, the tour’s promoters, said they would match her generous gift.

Lizzo’s announcement came via social media. She shared she would donate $500,000 from her tour.

Since Live Nation will match dollar for dollar, the organization will receive $1 million in total donations.

“The most important thing is action & loud voices,” Lizzo wrote in another tweet “@PPFA @AbortionFunds & organizations like them—will need funding to continue offering services to people who are most harmed by this ban.”

The Grammy Award-winner said she will not only be donating to Planned Parenthood, but to other another group.

“Black women & women of color have historically had disproportionately less access to family planning resources,” she tweeted. “This is a great loss but not a new one. Go to http://lizzolovesyou.com to donate, sign the Bans Off My Body petition and sign up to volunteer and take action.”

More concerned artists, like Rage Against the Machined, will be soon dropping money to support.

AllHipHop.com reported on the dramatic reversal of Roe v. Wade, noting how the highest court in the land was split down party lines on the vote.

Ashanti Praises Taylor Swift After Fight For Master Recordings

Ashanti has praised Taylor Swift for putting artists’ ownership of their music in the spotlight.

Back in 2019, Swift announced plans to re-record her own album masters, following a dispute with Scooter Braun and her old record label boss, Scott Borchetta, after Braun concluded a deal to buy Borchetta’s firm Big Machine.

Ashanti has taken a similar approach with her self-titled 2002 debut album and insisted it’s something she always wanted to do.

“What I will say is I’ve always had the idea to go back in and re-record and gain the masters,” she told Metro.co.uk. “I think Taylor is amazing for what she’s done and to be able to be a female in this very male-dominated industry, to accomplish that is amazing.”

She added that she can see it sparking a trend for artists who become major stars but lack ownership of their early records because they signed deals at the start of their careers.

“More of us have to continue that narrative of women empowerment, and just artists as a whole,” she said. “Owning your property and getting a chance to have ownership of your creativity is so so important. Male, female, singer, rapper, whatever, I hope this is a lesson for artists to get in there and own.”

Discussing recording her old songs again in Toronto, Canada, she added: “It’s weird because I’m touring and doing shows all the time, so I’m hearing my records all the time. But you go into the studio and people are like, ‘Argh, that’s my jam!’

“It’s been a really cool vibe and my mom has been getting footage of me going into the booth and she’s like, ‘Wow, this is crazy’, when you were recording this 20 years ago at a studio in New York and now you’re here redoing it, it’s a surreal feeling so I’m super excited about it.”

Ashanti, who recorded for Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc. imprint may feel empowered, but her former label boss feels cheated. He raged against Ashanti’s decision during an interview with Angie Martinez last year.

“I own all those great Ashanti Albums Angie,” Irv Gotti fumed. “I own the Masters. And. I Produced all those great Ashanti Albums. So I also own a good portion of the Publishing. What she is trying to do is re-record all those great records. And put them out on her label.”

“She can do this under the COVER laws. But she is basically trying to f### me out of my Masters. And make people decide which album to listen too or stream. Hoping her loyal fans will choose her version. But hey. I stand on the Magic that was created. And I wanna see her duplicate that Magic. It’s f##### up really. But such is life,” Irv Gotti said.

Make-Up Artist Explains How Boss Beyoncé Slays Her Looks Every Time

Beyoncé doesn’t bite her tongue regarding her beautiful look, according to her go-to make-up artist Sir John.

The pair have worked together for over a decade after being introduced backstage at a Tom Ford show by Sir John’s then boss, Charlotte Tilbury.

So it was he who Beyoncé turned to when she shot the cover for July’s British Vogue.

The make-up master spoke with the glossy publication about shoot day and why he went for an understated look – letting the 40-year-old star’s natural radiance shine through.

“I’m confident that she loved how she looked that day,” he mused. “Oftentimes, she’ll be like, ‘Hey, listen, can we take this down (a notch)?’ She’s very vocal and doesn’t bite her tongue!

“I wanted her to feel like she really did wake up like this in terms of ease and maneuverability. There are no lashes, minimal mascara, but I just wanted her to feel elevated.”

Alongside the pared-back make-up, Beyoncé wore a range of striking outfits by designers like Schiaparelli Haute Couture, Harris Reed, and Junya Watanabe.

For the jaw-dropping cover and accompanying images, Beyoncé wears a gold sequin Schiaparelli Haute Couture coat, a silk corset, sequin leggings by Harris Reed, and a black leather jacket paired with vinyl leggings, amongst other striking looks.

Sir John added: “One thing I will say is that when you see someone who’s killing it on the red carpet or on a cover, there’s harmony in that dressing room.”
