TDE President Punch Calls Out DJ Vlad

Terrence “Punch” Henderson Jr. has some words for media personality DJ Vlad. The President of Top Dawg Entertainment took to social media to call out the VladTV founder.

Apparently, Punch was not a fan of a recent VladTV interview. A series of YouTube videos featuring conversations with Daylyt included the West Coast battle rapper discussing his association with the TDE record label.

DJ Vlad titled a March 13 clip “Daylyt on Getting with TDE After TDE President Punch Rapped on His Song.” The following day, the DJVlad YouTube channel premiered “Daylyt Breaks Down TDE’s Power Structure: Top Snaps a Finger & It’s War.”

In the March 14 video, Vlad questioned Punch’s position with Top Dawg Entertainment. Vlad also wondered why Punch is taking time away from his “real job” of running TDE to work on the aroomfullofmirrors project.

On Tuesday, Punch posted a statement on his social media accounts directed at DJ Vlad. The California-based record executive/recording artist wrote:

Aye champ (@djvlad), These headlines you use are very deceptive and misleading. I get it, you need something catchy for the bait, but be careful, it can be damaging.

Also, don’t ever question what I do in that matter and with that tone. Black people are in general, super creative and innovative and can do more than one thing (and at a high level).

Basically, we can chew gum and walk at the [same] time, my guy. I can create a marketing plan with SZA and then go rap with AROOMFULLOFMIRRORS.

Sincerely,

Punch, The President/Rapper

Punch’s tweet included the caption, “In case you needed clarity @djvlad.” The “Pay No Attention To The Man Behind The Curtains” performer’s Instagram caption read, “The nerve of these [people].”

Kanye West: I’m Concerned Pete Davidson Will Get Kim Kardashian Hooked On Drugs

Kanye “Ye” West is back to taking shots at Pete Davidson. The billionaire Hip Hop artist re-started his Instagram onslaught against the Saturday Night Live star on Wednesday morning.

For his latest social media attack in his public feud with Pete Davidson, Ye expressed concern that the 28-year-old The Suicide Squad actor could cause Kim Kardashian to get addicted to narcotics. Kardashian is West’s estranged wife who is presently dating Davidson.

“[I’m] really concerned that SKETE will get my [kids’] mom hooked on drugs. He’s in rehab every 2 months,” wrote Kanye West on Instagram. West and Kardashian have four children together.

Kanye West Suggests Pete Davidson Could Be A Pedophile

In addition, Kanye West uploaded a 2019 headline from the far-right Breitbart.com to his Instagram page. The outlet ran an article on Pete Davidson reportedly telling a joke about having sex with his friend’s child.

“Yet another reason why SKETE gotta stay away from my children. Oh, and nobody noticed that he ain’t show up to SNL because Mr. ‘I can help you with meds’ had a mental breakdown after we ran him off the internet,” wrote Ye in the IG caption.

The 44-year-old 2020 United States presidential candidate continued, “SKETE you [are] not built for this. I already blacked the Super Bowl out on you. Apologize to your family for being in your family,”

Ye Has More Words For D.L. Hughley Too

Additionally, Kanye West recently threatened stand-up comedian/radio personality D. L. Hughley. That online aggression from the Donda album creator led to Hughley roasting Ye on Twitter.

West now appears to be backing off a bit from his beef with The D.L. Hughley Show host. After posting another joke about Hughley’s sense of fashion, Ye suggested the two celebrities could become acquaintances at some point.

“Funny thing is we’ll probably end up being friends… I used to defend this n#### back when he had work… Like nah, he funny… you just gotta watch it 1 trillion more times to get it,” posted Kanye West on Instagram.

Trillary Banks Says U.K. Female Rappers Need More Investment To Break America

During a recent interview, Trillary Banks spoke on the lack of opportunity for female rappers in the U.K. and why they struggle to break the U.S. market compared to their male counterparts. “I don’t think there is enough representation but whether there will ever be, probably not. It’s not that there’s never going to be equal female rappers and males in the scene,” she explained. “I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen.”

She continued, “One of the hardest things about blowing up in America is if you’re not from America and you don’t have any strong links there it doesn’t happen overnight unless you do an American song or sound. We just need more investment,” said Trillary. “We need more labels who are willing to really get behind this and start pushing us into that market and networking. A lot of majors look after people over there as well, we’ve seen it slightly with the UK guys that have tried that. With the women it’s kind of yet to happen unless it’s like Jorja Smith or Ella Mai or someone who’s really already big.”

Starrah Named CEO Of 3:02 Music Group

Award-winning singer/songwriter Brittany “Starrah” Hazzard entered a joint publishing venture with PULSE Music Group. The deal includes Starrah taking on the role of CEO for her own publishing company, 3:02 Music Group.

Nick Jarjour, Starrah’s manager, is a co-founder of the 3:02 Music Group venture as well. 3:02 will sign and develop a roster of artists, writers, and producers.

“PULSE Music Group was the first publisher that made me feel like they truly understood my vision when I walked into the room,” says Starrah. “Since I’ve been with them they have been nothing but supportive every step of the way.”

The Longest Interlude album creator continues, “I know that I can always walk into the office or make a phone call and have someone to help me work through the goals that I want to accomplish or get past any obstacles that I come across. Being with PULSE is like being with family. They are my extended family.”

Throughout her career, Starrah has written songs for Rihanna, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Normani, Camila Cabello, and many others. The Grammy winner recently scored production credits on Kodak Black’s 2022 album Back for Everything.

“It was time for somebody like Starrah,” says Scott Cutler, co-CEO of PULSE Music Group. “There are so many reasons why this was important — she’s one of the most talented songwriters on the planet, there’s no question. She’s also a Black, LGBTQ+ woman who knows what it takes to create an inclusive, diverse environment for music creators.”

Cutler continues, “When Josh Abraham and I first founded PULSE Music Group, we set out to create a best-in-class creative sanctuary for music creators, run by music creators and our company ethos has always been to create an inclusive, diverse creative haven. Starrah is the next voice in this chapter. This industry hasn’t yet had a woman from Starrah’s lens and experience running the show at her own publishing company and we knew we wanted this to be happening at PULSE Music Group.”

“I signed Starrah to the company my first week with PULSE Music Group and we’ve been fully behind her vision since day one,” said Ashley Calhoun, SVP/Head of Creative, PULSE Music Group. “Six years later and her name is behind the biggest songs out there, topping the charts, winning the most prestigious awards in the industry, and she’s empowered as the CEO of her own publishing venture. Giving important voices in music a chance to be heard and believing in our clients from the early days as they shape their careers is just part of our creative approach and culture here at PULSE—Starrah is a great example of that.”

Starrah named 3:02 Music Group after the area code in Delaware where she was born and raised. The 3:02 roster already includes a team of writers involved in Normani’s “Wild Side” featuring Hip Hop star Cardi B. Representatives of the company also worked on Normani’s upcoming debut studio album.

“PULSE Music Group has always created an environment with unlimited creative freedom for Starrah and have continued that spirit with this new partnership for 3:02,” states Nick Jarjour, 3:02 Music Group co-founder.

Jarjour adds, “Scott, Josh, and Ashley have built a creative powerhouse at PULSE and are now passing the baton to Starrah as the next generation of publishers with this new venture. 3:02 is the destination for talent that wants to be around a culture of respect and positivity. We feel incredibly empowered and have already hit the ground running for the roster with cuts from Normani, Cardi B, Kodak Black, Ed Sheeran, and many more!”

Slaughterhouse “Couldn’t Move Forward” Because Of Joe Budden Claims KXNG Crooked

For years, Slaughterhouse fans have been clamoring for the group to make a return or at least release their vaulted Glass House album.

The group was formed in 2008 by four of the hardest pens in hip-hop: Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, KXNG Crooked, and Royce Da 5’9”. They dropped their self-titled debut studio album in 2009, and Welcome To: Our House three years later. The group dissolved when KXNG Crooked announced his departure from the group in 2018.

However, over the years fans have called for the rap supergroup to reunite. At various times, the group’s members have discussed the possibility of a Slaughterhouse comeback but to no avail. They disagree on the reasons for the split in the first place and cannot agree about any possible future.

The topic returned to the forefront recently when Crooked and Ortiz announced their new project: The Rise And Fall Of Slaughterhouse. The other half of the group were vocal about their disapproval, but Crook says they’re not telling the whole story. During a recent episode of The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Crook claimed Royce is straight-up lying.

“Put yourself in the fans shoes for a minute,” he says in the clip. “You’ve been waiting on one of your favourite groups in the world to drop an album for 10 years.”

Crook Says Royce Is Lying

He detailed the work he put in behind the scene to bring Slaughterhouse back together again. “It’s not happened in 10 years,” he declared. “So you’re telling me you want me to wait again and then I saw something where Royce said that we weren’t waiting on anybody… that’s a lie.”

He added, “So I need to address all this stuff because whenever they say that I just come back with the truth. You can attack my character my integrity, you could try to assassinate it and say that I’m a liar and I’m doing this for money and all that s###.”

“We started Slaughterhouse” Waiting On Joe Budden

He also blamed Joe Budden for delaying any new music as he was signed to another label when Slaughterhouse inked their deal with Shady Records. “We started Slaughterhouse in the early days waiting on Joe [Budden],” he said. He then explained why Budden is left off of Eminem’s “Session One,” unlike the rest of Slaughterhouse. Budden’s label called Shady, informing them they needed clearance for Budden to appear on the song. “All of us supposedly free agents to sign this deal with Shady, and come to find out Joe was on the paperwork,” he said. He added that Budden, “said that they forged his signature,” and denied it was him. The group was then “put on the shelf” during Budden’s legal dispute with Amalgam Digital Label. “We were waiting on Joe because we couldn’t move forward, and that took months,” he added. Watch the clip below.

Joe Budden and Joel Ortiz went at it on Instagram Live after the new project was announced. The argument came to a head when Budden said “Joell, that album can suck my dick, are you kidding me? You want people to listen to this clown show?” Ortiz responded, “N-gga, suck MY dick! Don’t go there, don’t do that,” and promptly left the conversation.

Coast Club, the Rise of the Next SoCal Vibration Curators

Southern California is well known as the home of great artistic talent, producing many big names in the music and entertainment industry. This includes dynamic singing duo Coast Club, which is now taking over the global music scene. Their diversity, unique sound, and energetic performances are helping them cement their place in the industry while working and performing in top clubs across the US and the globe.

Coast Club has held headlining residencies across the US and Asia over the last seven years, DJing at world-renowned clubs like Elia Beach, Las Vegas; Hakkasan, Las Vegas; Bone Club, Pattaya, Thailand; and Catwalk Disco, Guangzhou, China. They have also worked with Insomniac Records, Warner Music, and have their own radio show on Insomniac Radio titled “Beach Bass Radio.”

According to Trevor Shawn and Ace Future, the voices behind Coast Club, one of the things that inspired them to start the band was to share their love for music with the rest of the world. The two enjoyed listening to different genres growing up, which led them to music production and DJING. They have now made it their mission to spread positivity and empower others through their performances and various songs.

Trevor and Ace have composed and released many songs, including “Better Together,” “Stay Here With You,” featuring Cat Clark, and other club remixes. They also released a collaboration with Blenders Eyewear in 2020, which sold out worldwide.

“Music is a powerful tool of communication that helps us interact and connect with others,” says Trevor. Together with his friend Ace, they spread love through their songs and share their life stories with the rest of the world. Trevor says their goal as a band is to continue giving their audience timeless music, create beautiful memories, and show everyone that nothing should hold you back from your dreams and aspirations.

Initially, when they started their journey, Coast Club was a trio, and they were known to the world as DJ powerhouses. In less than a year after making their debut, they had gained worldwide recognition performing at several clubs and producing many great hits. Coast Club has released successful remixes for Hayden James, Lauv, and THEY, among others.

However, in 2018, the band faced a major challenge that threatened their journey. One of their bandmates quit to pursue a different path, and it was quite difficult for Trevor and Ace to adapt. At the time, they had an entire summer’s worth of shows booked and tons of new music, which they were preparing to release, and one of their members quitting put a significant strain on the band.

While it was challenging, Trevor and Ace didn’t let this dictate their future. They rebranded to Coast Club, and by merging their west coast/SoCal and coastal lifestyles, Coast Club gave rise to a new vibration that is now redefining the music industry. They have launched a side project, Motel Margarita, a traveling pool part series coupled with their signature margarita mix and merch line. Coast Club is also looking to expand its music careers, do more tours, and release new singles. In the coming years, Trevor says their goal is to produce and release 6–8 songs a year.

Fabolous Catches DoorDash Delivery Driver Stealing From His Car

Fabolous turned detective this week when a DoorDash delivery driver decided to steal from him.

According to Fab, when his neighbor ordered some takeout, their delivery guy made a collection of his own. After delivering the food, he stole some clothes and shoes from Fab’s car.

The rapper shared a series of CCTV recordings to instagram on Tuesday Mar. 15). They show someone checking out a vehicle before opening the car door and stepping inside. He then emerges from the back seat armed with several shoeboxes. Another clip shows the same man placing the boxes in a different vehicle and driving off. The final piece of the puzzle reveals the man delivering food to a residence.

Fabolous Says Return My Stuff Or I’m Calling The Cops

With receipts in hand, Fab warned the perpetrator to return the items or face the long arm of the law.

“Yesterday afternoon a DOOR DASH DELIVERY GUY bringing a order to someone else in NEW JERSEY decided to STEAL me & my Son’s sneakers & clothes out of my car !!!” Fabolous explained in the caption.

“I’m giving the opportunity here & now to whoever this dude is to return the stuff stolen,” he began. “I will take it back with no consequence, & let it slide. IF NOT, i have plenty of video footage, the delivery car info, the Door Dash pick up info & even will reach out to door dash & get all information involved with the driver/vehicle… If you know this guy or this is your family or friend u should holla at him to return it ASAP. YALL CAN DM ME & this will be handled & left as a mistake or opportunity.”

Fabolous pointed out that “spending years in jail for a few pairs of sneakers & 2 jackets” really isn’t worth it. He concluded with a request to contact him with information about the unidentified man or return of the stolen items.

The post has now been removed, suggesting Fabolous has found a resolution.

Lil Durk Celebrates His Metaverse Takeover On The NASDAQ But…There’s Always A But.

Lil Durk is one of the biggest stars ever at this point. And he’s only getting bigger. For today, in New York City, he made an appearance at the NASDAQ. Right there in Times Square! We were one of the outlets that was out there representing. Shout out to Slops!

There was some legit press, however, every media outlet is not a real media outlet. And every journalist is not a real journalist. Somebody decided that they were going to break complete protocol as a professional and bumrush Lil Durk in an effort to get a picture with him. She got the picture, but she disrupted the entire press conference, forcing Lil Durk‘s team to whisk him away. After she did that, other journalists decided they were going to try to get their picture as well. Most failed, but some did.

But, this is really a big moment for bro. He was announcing his foray into the metaverse and we should have been able to speak to him about more than “body counts” or “beefs.” That is what WE do. This is huge news, but we did not get a chat with Durkio. We DID get pictures and a bit of video.

Our homie T @iamcomplex got the goods before the event was ended abruptly!

Chris Catlin is an artist who’s coming for the throne in 2022. As a versatile artist on the rise, Chris Catlin is no stranger to making good music. He knows what it takes to make music that is fun, meaningful, and easy to vibe to all at the same time. With his latest music, has been making an enticing blend of Hip-Hop and R&B with a taste of the Caribbean since 2018, and he’s back with his latest smash, ‘OtherSide.’ ‘OtherSide,’ a recounting of the story of loss through the eyes of a woman traveling the same trip, was inspired by the grief of his own father’s death.
When asked about one reason he’s passionate about music and what excites him, Catlin explained, “It speaks to your soul. I can listen to a song in a completely different language, not knowing a single word but still have that song on repeat.”

“And that song can make me feel exactly what it’s meant to, without even knowing a word,” he continued. “That’s what I love about music. it’s all about feeling for me.”

Chris is a true artist by definition. He’s able to think positively about the mourning process as a result of his profound meditation on his personal and professional experiences, resulting in a song with invitingly warm vocals and mellow beats. Chris converts the sad into good, the sadness into hope, and the agony into joy, dripping with meaning and leading to a route of escapism to liberate oneself from the mourning process.
With his latest release “OtherSide,” it’s easy to hear his influences.
“I grew up in the Caribbean so that lifestyle and the culture being so musically driven has a clear impact on my sound,” Catlin said. “My dad was also an amazing guitar player growing up so I was always influenced by that.”

Chris’ music has always had Dance/Afrobeat influences, despite the fact that he was born in the Cayman Islands and moved to Florida when he was eleven years old. On this tune, however, his style is significantly more nuanced, as the subject matter necessitates a more spiritual approach to the songwriting process than his regular work. Chris listens to jazz, country, Hip Hop, and a variety of other genres, and is influenced by dancehall singers such as Collie Buddz and Popcaanhe. He also listens to jazz, country, Hip Hop, and a variety of other genres. That is evident in all of his songs, as he explores the wide range of musicians with whom he has shared his life.
“I have a few projects in the works,” Catlin says of what’s next. “A reggae project that I’m excited about.”
It’s safe to say that Chris Catlin is working on new music this year, and if it’s anything like his recent releases, then audiences are in for a treat!

Fabdon Is the Next Biggest Hip-Hop Artist Out of New York City

Hip-hop has something about it that makes it more than just a music genre of music. Besides giving the artist the creative liberty to play with different elements, hip-hop has also managed to preserve its original magic even today. With the advent of technology and digitalization, hip-hop has been redefined by numerous contemporary artists. The name that stands out among them is Fabdon. The rapper shot to fame in 2012, storming the hip-hop scene in NYC for a couple of years until his career took a backseat. Now he is back to resume from where he left. Fabdon is now better and wiser than ever before and ready to fire up the stage again. Here’s his unique story to stardom.

Fabdon started his journey in 2012 in Southside Jamaica, Queen, in NYC, the cradle of hip-hop. Several popular hip-hop artists were blowing up on the scene back then, but Fabdon managed to stand out with his unique take on the genre and his distinct style. He soon started being recognized in the music scene, with multiple established professionals seeing his potential.

Fabdon’s career started to soar in the NYC hip-hop industry. This went on for a couple of years, and Fabdon landed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign with DJ self for a deal with Power 105.1 radio. Just when Fabdon thought his career would be reaching new heights, he ended up hitting rock bottom after being wrongly indicted in a criminal trial. Fabdon managed to come out clean from the trial and was set free in 2016. In the meantime, DJ Self got one of Fabdon’s contemporary rappers to sign the deal, who was also Fabdon’s long-time rival.

This loss of opportunity did not bother Fabdon much because he was confident in his talent. He was geared up to start again from where he left, but unfortunately, at the same time, Fabdon faced another trial for a fraud case, and this time he ended up in prison for three years. During this sudden break from his career, Fabdon came to know realized that he had to take the reins of his career on his own after he was released from prison.

Since then, Fabdon started honing his skills in prison. He read books, spent more time with his mother, and made every effort to be wiser and better at his craft. He wanted to refrain from making the same mistakes he initially made as a newbie in the industry who lacked experience navigating the space. After his release at the beginning of 2020, Fabdon knew he was going to return to the music scene with a vengeance. However, this time also, his luck did not favor him.

Coming out of prison, Fabdon had to deal with the restrictions imposed due to the onset of the pandemic. Even under such challenging circumstances, Fabdon managed to shine. He signed a deal with DJ Self in the second week of his release and appeared on Power 105. By the third week, he was kicking freestyle with King of Brooklyn. Fabdon has more to offer the industry, so he shaped his long-awaited dream of starting a record label into reality.

Currently, Fabdon is the owner of TDF (The Don Familia), a new record label that intends to introduce more budding talents to the industry. Apart from this, Fabdon has more exciting plans for the future, and this time, he is all set to accomplish them.

Jay-Z & Damon Dash Working On Settlement In ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Legal Beef

Jay-Z might settle his lawsuit against former business partner Damon Dash.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro informed a judge about the two sides discussing a settlement. Hov sued Dame Dash for allegedly trying to mint the legendary rapper’s Reasonable Doubt album as an NFT.

“The parties are in the process of meeting and conferring to determine whether they can reach an agreement that would obviate the need for [Roc-A-Fella Records, Inc.] to file the motion [for a permanent injunction],” Spiro wrote. “And the parties are also in the process of meeting and conferring to determine whether they can reach a settlement agreement that would resolve this case.”

Spiro noted he was authorized to send the letter on behalf of Dame Dash and GoDigital Records, LLC. If Jay-Z and his Roc-A-Fella co-founder can’t reach a settlement, Hov plans to pursue a permanent injunction against Dame Dash.

“Plaintiff Roc-A-Fella Records, Inc. intends to file a post-discovery motion for summary judgment seeking entry of a permanent injunction preventing defendant Damon Dash from altering in any way, selling, assigning, pledging, encumbering, contracting with regard to, or in any way disposing of any property interest in the album Reasonable Doubt, including its copyright and including through any means, such as auctioning a non-fungible token (NFT) reflecting, referring, or directing such interest,” Spiro wrote.

Jay-Z, Dame Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke founded Roc-A-Fella in 1995. Dame Dash has been trying to sell his stake in the label, which he claimed was the real reason for Hov’s lawsuit.
