Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” Spends 600 Weeks On Billboard 200 Chart

Michael Jackson continues to make music history 14 years after his death. The King of Pop’s magnum opus, Thriller, has now tallied a total of 600 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.

As reported by Billboard, Jackson’s sixth solo studio LP rose 42 spots to No. 63 on the latest Billboard 200. The 1980s-era classic is just the 10th album to make it onto the weekly chart at least 600 times.

Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon remains the longest-charting album of all time (984 weeks). Albums by Bob Marley and the Wailers, Journey, Metallica, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana also sit in the Top 10.

Thriller came out on November 29, 1982. It spent 37 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. That total puts Thriller in second place on the all-time list behind 1961’s West Side Story soundtrack (54 weeks).

Jackson also has five other No. 1 albums in his discography: 1987’s Bad, 1991’s Dangerous, 1995’s HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, 2001’s Invincible and 2009’s posthumous This Is It.

Thriller hosts the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles “Billie Jean” and “Beat It.” The LP’s title track leveled off at the No. 4 slot. Four other Thriller tracks made it into the Hot 100’s Top 10 region. Jackson currently has 13 career No. 1 songs on the Hot 100. Rap superstar Drake recently tied Jackson for fifth place on those rankings.

Latto Addresses Beef Among Female Rappers, Says Fans Turn Women Against Each Other

So far in her career, Latto has had the chance to make music with Mariah Carey, City Girls, Chris Brown, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Cardi B and others. However, the southern hitmaker believes bad blood in the business can prevent some collaborations from happening.

XXL magazine spoke to Latto for a cover story about the 24-year-old Atlanta native. At one point, the outlet asked her about navigating the Hip-Hop industry and dealing with possible cliques.

“You have to tiptoe around like, who’s cool with who. If I’m posting with this person, then I can’t be around this person in the beef world. That’s what I mean by cliquey,” Latto stated.

She continued, “You have to watch if you work with this person, then you can’t work with this person. And if you do a song with this person, then you can’t do a song with that person.”

Latto got into a highly-publicized feud with Nicki Minaj in 2022. The conflict included an online back-and-forth over Grammy Award nominations. Eventually, #40yrOldBully became a Twitter trending topic directed at Minaj after Latto posted a heated phone conversation between the two women.

That beef seemed to continue into 2023. Nicki Minaj may have thrown shots at Latto on the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” track. Latto’s “Put It on da Floor Again” contained diss lyrics seemingly meant for Minaj. “Put It on da Floor Again” also featured Minaj’s longtime archrival, Cardi B.

In addition, Latto upset Coi Leray because of a line in the original “Put It on da Floor” single. There has also been speculation that the former Miss Mulatto is in a cold war with Nicki Minaj’s frequent collaborator, Ice Spice.

“I [was] backstage with Lola Brooke at Summer Jam, and I told her, ‘Stay out the b#######. Don’t let the fans and the blogs try to make you beef with this person.’ It’s hard. It’s easier said than done,” Latto said in her XXL interview.

New York City’s Lola Brooke linked up with Latto and Yung Miami of the City Girls for the “Don’t Play With It (Remix)” in March. This year has also seen Latto score her first Billboard Hot 100 chart No. 1 single as a guest on “Seven” by Jung Kook.

“I think it really don’t be a problem until we let fans, Stans, whatever you want to call them, like the outsiders once they get in the mix. I think that’s what stirs the pot,” Latto said about the perceived beef among female rappers. “Because it’s like, we will all be fans of each other and commenting and following each other, whatever, but then once they get to comparing, they will turn us against each other, which is very weak-minded of us as female rappers.”

Additionally, she stated, “I will take that accountability. I don’t think truly, at heart, it’s us. Once people are infiltrating your mind and got you thinking this, and now you feel this type of way without even addressing the person, now you addressing fans. I think we be falling for these traps that they put on female rappers.”

Meek Mill Catches Heat For Claiming He Makes A Million Dollars Per Song

Rick Ross and Meek Mill recently joined forces for Too Good to Be True. The project debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 with a reported 31,000 first-week units, leading to debates about the two rap stars’ album sales.

Meek Mill was back to money talk again on Monday (November 20). This time, the Dream Chaser label founder took to Instagram in order to make a declaration about his supposed music revenue and Billboard charts.

“I’m getting a million a song… so that’s 62,500 every bar I speak,” he wrote. “They say this rap s### dying must be on Billboard because it’s not to meek!”

In response, other Instagram users began trashing Meek Mill. One person commented, “Bro, just rap and drop the s### n####, stop talkin bout how much money [you’re] making off music [because] we don’t care, we just want good music.”

Another commenter wrote, “[You’re] doing waaaay [too] much explaining and tryna justify them low album sales. It’s ok to admit the album not doing that great… the streets not buying or playing that s### like you’re claiming. It wasn’t a flop… just wasn’t as successful as you’re tryna spin it to be.”

Meek Mill addressed the opening-week total for his joint effort with the Maybach Music Group boss last week. According to the Philadelphia-bred rapper, he and Ross make more money as owners of their musical content.

“Now we all own our music we getting the tech built to put people on our own musical subscriptions and we gone let direct to consumer see if rap [is] doing well,” Meek tweeted on November 12. “I never wanted to be on Billboards… a lot of them guys they marketed in front of us can’t make 100k today.”

REVOLT Podcaster Announces Departure After Cassie’s Rape Allegations Against Diddy

Cassie Ventura ignited a firestorm when the R&B singer filed a lawsuit against Diddy who she accused of rape and physical abuse. The two sides quickly settled the case out of court, but the repercussions of the accusations continue to play out.

Journalist/marketing specialist Dawn Montgomery announced she would no longer be part of the Revolt network’s Monuments to Me podcast. (Diddy launched the REVOLT media company in 2012.)

“FYI: I won’t be signing on to do the 3rd season of @revolttv’s Monuments To Me podcast,” she tweeted on Monday (November 20). “I am a [sexual assault] survivor & I cannot be a part of a show that’s supposed to uplift black women while @Diddy leads the company. Believe Black women.”

A description for the Monuments To Me podcast reads:

Cassie Ventura’s allegations against Diddy sparked a lot of conversation on social media. Other celebrities, including such as 50 Cent, Brandon T. Jackson and Slim Thug, reacted to the alarming reports. While some critics questioned Ventura’s motives, the “Me & U” singer partially explained why she took a settlement.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said in a statement last week. Diddy responded to the now-closed case by stating, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Joey Bada$$ Blasts Fans For Focusing On First-Week Album Sales

Joey Bada$$ has been in the music industry for over a decade. The 28-year-old MC has released numerous projects since his 2012 debut mixtape 1999.

This week, Joey Bada$$ took to X to share his thoughts on people putting so much focus on first-week album sales. Bada$$ questioned why the public still cares about how many units artists move.

“F### first-week sales. They simply don’t matter anymore for the simple fact that no one is buying albums. I mean, when’s the last time anyone you know bought an album?” Joey Bada$$ tweeted.

He also added, “We all can stream anything we want but in order for it to count as an album sale you need to listen to every song like 1000+ times. They trynna make it seem like everybody flopping when [in] reality they changed the rules.”

“So someone [please] tell me why the f### is anybody still worried about that? They trynna take the power from the musician because they never learned how to measure influence properly. At this point, just shut the f### up and enjoy the music,” Bada$$ concluded.

In addition to dropping 1999 eleven years ago, Joey Bada$$’s catalog includes three studio LPs. 2015’s B4.Da.$$ earned 58,000 first-week units. Two years later, All-Amerikkkan Badass opened with 51,000 units.

His 2000 album amassed around 22,000 first-week units in 2022. Both B4.Da.$$ and All-Amerikkkan Badass peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. 2000 made it to the No. 25 position on the weekly rankings.

Plus, Joey Bada$$ revealed that he plans to release another project near the top of 2024. However, the Brooklyn native informed his followers that the forthcoming body of work could be pushed back. Then Bada$$ returned to the conversation about first-week sales.

The Pro Era frontman posted, “For all the people saying, ‘He’s only saying that because he’s not doing good first-week numbers,’ first of all, that’s subjective nowadays unless you’re Drake or Taylor Swift level. Second of all, do your googles, I [have] been packing out venues since inception and will continue to do so.”

Lil Durk Addresses Chicago’s Violent Crime Rates, Brushes Off Donald Trump’s Criticism

Lil Durk has addressed Donald Trump’s criticism of Chicago following the former President’s numerous remarks about the city’s violent crime rates.  

He was asked about Trump’s comments over the weekend during an MSNBC interview. Host Ari Melber played him a montage of soundbites from multiple speakers addressing the city’s high crime rates. “What’s going on in Chicago? I said the other day, what the hell is going on?” Donald Trump said in the clip.  

“I really don’t pay it no mind because it’s violence everywhere,” Lil Durk began. “You can get self-defense everywhere, you can kill anywhere, you can stab anywhere, you can choke anywhere, you can kidnap anywhere. 

“It’s just every city has the moment of the rates. If you look up right now who got the most murder rate I bet you it ain’t Chicago. So now the story transpire to that city. That’s why I never comment on it because every city has its day.” 

When Melber asked Durkio his advice to Chicago kids, he highlighted the work of his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation. 

“It’s different when you up close and personal with them,” he added. “It’s different when you doing non-profit like the Neighborhood Heroes and you in one of the worst neighborhoods in Chicago giving out turkeys or bookbags or showing them how to open up bank accounts to save money.”

Lil Durk Gives Back To Chicago Students

Earlier this year, Lil Durk awarded $50,000 in scholarships to two exceptional Chicago students participating in the Neighborhood Heroes’ HBCU College & Career Readiness Cohort. 

“I feel it’s my responsibility to reach back to the kids—especially those that are growing up in my community,” said Lil Durk. 

“These kids have to be our biggest investment as they’re our future leaders,” he added. “They are destined for greatness and I’m encouraging others to join my team’s efforts to help pave their way.” 

Slim Thug Apologizes For Controversial Remarks About Cassie Suing Diddy

Slim Thug has apologized following the backlash over his insensitive comments about Cassie Ventura after she sued Diddy for rape and domestic abuse.  

Thug implied the singer was not a victim, suggesting she was only out to make money from the Bad Boy Records mogul. He also cast doubt on her allegations because she didn’t come forward sooner.  

“They’re coming back and getting Bill Cosby and coming back and get Puff, I don’t believe in that,” he said in an Instagram video. “When s### go down, you speak on it right there. It should be null and void. Let the people know immediately.

Slim Thug continued, “That apartment got small, that lifestyle fell off, now it’s struggle time, the love wearing off and now you trying to come up with ways to figure out how to get paid […] Quit trying to expose people for money.”  

Slim Thug Claims Cassie Was Only Trying To Make Money From Diddy Lawsuit

Despite the backlash over his remarks, Slim Thug doubled down on his opinion in an Instagram Live, insisting Cassie Ventura got what she wanted after Diddy settled the lawsuit.  

“She got her bag, so everything was good, but I’m just saying that it didn’t sound like no abuser-victim to me,” he added. “It sounds like ‘I needed that bag’ and she got it and everything good now, she fixed, everybody happy now right?” 

However, fans in the live chat pushed back against his comments, prompting Slim Thug to apologize. 

“That was my personal opinion. I’m sorry we don’t agree on everything,” he said before adding that he has no “hate” for Ventura. “I didn’t even know Cassie was Black… I just give y’all opinion, end of the day if I say something wrong correct me, tell me, I ain’t that small-minded.” 

Sexyy Red Responds To Backlash After Urging Teacher To Play “Pound Town” To 5-Year-Olds

Sexyy Red has backtracked after facing backlash over her response to a teacher’s criticism that five-year-olds are listening to her songs “Pound Town” and “Skee Yee.”

A ballet teacher recently went viral after sharing a video on TikTok calling out parents for allowing their children to listen to Sexyy Red. In the video, the 22-year-old dance tutor says her pupils have no respect for authority and are unruly in class.  

She claimed that teaching ballet to five-year-olds has been “the most traumatic experience of my life.” Alongside the kids not following directions, the teacher called out “heart wrenching” and “horrifying” aspects of her job.  

“Your five-year-old daughters are asking to listen to ‘Pound Town’ and ‘Skee Yee,’” she said, referring to two of Sexyy Red’s biggest hits.

The video spread widely online, with many sympathizing with the teacher’s complaints. However, Sexyy Red disagreed with the teacher. “Gurl play poundtown skeeyee & s###,” she wrote, sharing the teacher’s video on her Instagram Stories Sunday (November 20).

Nonetheless, her post garnered even more online backlash. 

“oh that’s lowkey hella weird of her.. are we seeing her down fall now?” one fan wrote on X. “no sexyy they are five we not telling them cooch pink behind brown!” added another.  

Despite her initial response, Sexyy Red, who is pregnant with her second child, soon had a change of heart.  It appears fans can expect some age-appropriate songs for the kids, according to the rising Hip-Hop star.

Kim Kardashian’s “Nipple Bra” Ad Slammed By Greenpeace For Mocking Climate Change

Kim Kardashian has come under fire from Greenpeace over her latest SKIMS campaign, which sees her joke about climate change to promote her new nipple bra. 

The environmental group slammed the reality TV mogul, accusing her of “greenwashing” in a fiery Instagram post.  

They shared her ad alongside a critique of Kim Kardashian, accusing her of “co-opting the language of climate activists to promote a plastic product made from petrochemicals.”

The campaign video shows Kim Kardashian showcasing her new bra with in-built nipples while warning about Earth’s rising temperatures, sea levels and shrinking ice sheets.   

“I’m not a scientist, but I do believe everyone can use their skill set to do their part,’ she said in the video. “That’s why I’m introducing a brand new bra with a built-in nipple, so no matter how hot it is, you’ll always look cold.”  

In its response, Greenpeace aimed to share the “hard truth” about Kardashian’s nipple bra.  

“Using melting glaciers and rising sea levels as a punchline to improve your profit margins makes a mockery of an issue that is devastating millions of people’s lives,” the group wrote.  

“We desperately need global icons like Kim to champion the fight against climate change. Sadly, this isn’t what’s happening here. Kim’s new advert perpetuates the harmful profit-driven system accelerating the climate crisis, and diverts attention away from more impactful actions, like the UN Global Plastics Treaty, which offer a real chance for systemic change.” 

Latto Claims “Women Are Running Rap” & She’s The Atlanta Frontrunner

Latto says while female rappers must work 10 times harder than their male counterparts, women are currently running the game. 

The “Lottery” hitmaker opened up about female rap and her place in the game during a new interview with XXL.  

“The state of where female rap is right now, it’s so front and center,” Latto explained. “It’s crazy that it hasn’t been done before. It’s super-necessary. Super-urgent. Women are running rap right now. Everything about hip-hop is centered around women, in my opinion. We what the people wanna see. So, it’s damn near necessary, urgent.”

Latto On Becoming “First Lady Of Atlanta”

Elsewhere during the interview, Latto said that while she’s the “frontrunner for female rap in Atlanta,” there’s more work to be done before she achieves her dream of being the city’s “First Lady” of rap.  

“Generations after this will know who Latto is and will respect Latto as First Lady of Atlanta,” she declared. “Right now, I think I got in the bag. But I’m never content with the moment. I’m always a what’s-gon’-to-happen-in-the- long-run type of person.” 

Latto also revealed her goals extended further than a career behind the microphone, and she hopes to own a record label.   

“I think I have a good eye and ear for new talent because I built my career from the ground up,” she said. “Music is how I got my foot in the door, but I think I am way bigger than music.” 

For Latto, being the “First Lady of Atlanta” is more than the biggest female artist in the city, community support is a crucial element.  

“Atlanta supports me because of what I do for the city,” she said, adding that residents saw her come up, performing at high school pep rallies and opening shows for the likes of 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, or T.I., or Jeezy, Young Thug and 21 Savage. 

“They seen me grow up and pay my dues,” she continued. “And I throw a lot of charity events. I’m pulling up at my old high school, donating money. The city genuinely supports me.” 

In other Latto news, she bagged her first Billboard Music Award this weekend. She collected the best K-Pop song trophy for “Seven,” her collaboration with Jung Kook.

No, André 3000’s Flute Isn’t On Any Metro Boomin Tracks—But These Songs Still Hit

Yes, we heard about André 3000 secretly playing the iconic flute accompaniment present on Future and Metro Boomin’s hit single “Mask Off.”

Too bad it’s all BS! Well, it’s more of an ill-received joke rather than a bold-faced lie. Even though it came directly from the horse’s mouth, Young Metro was certainly fooling around when he told fans that Three Stacks is playing the flute on he and Future’s record. For those unfamiliar with the sample that appears on “Mask Off” the record, it was released in 1978 by a gentleman named Tommy Butler. It’s called the “Prison Song” and it appeared in Butler’s musical Selma.

All jokes aside, even though Metro Boomin has yet to recruit the flute stylings of the Outkast legend for one of his grandiose productions, he’s still the G.O.A.T. of this generation. As if his discography wasn’t proof enough, his recent live performance with a 43-piece orchestra for Red Bull’s Symphonic series should suffice as evidence. And even though Three Stacks wasn’t a part of Metro’s exclusive performance, he didn’t need to be considering the heat he brought on his own. Trust me, I was in attendance and blown away by his set, which was nearly an hour-and-a-half long in its entirety.

Armed with 30 songs, specifically composed to incorporate the aforementioned orchestra, Metro showed out and reminded us why Future will shoot you if you’re not trusted by the producer. In fact, since we just mentioned the Freeband Gang General, you’d think that Metro Boomin’s crutch is Future the way the show, which took place on October 26, is structured from the front end.

But then the way he pulls off this mythically crazy run through multiple projects such as Travis Scott’s Days Before The Rodeo proves the exact opposite. Case and point, bro decided to pull the f###ing Spider-Man soundtrack out of his back pocket and bring Swae Lee and NAV onstage like it was nothing.

Then, he proceeded to remind us all that Offset needs to do another album with Metro Boomin because whatever he’s doing right now ain’t hitting nearly as hard as “Ric Flair Drip” still is. And I about shed a tear as I said RIP to Takeoff because I swear to God I thought the rough was gonna blow off the b#### when he did “Bad & Bougie.”

Not to mention some of the most turnt production this generation has witness was provided to 21 Savage, courtesy of Metro. And it definitely was evident as he ran through records such as “No Heart” with an army of string instruments humming to his every command. By like halfway through the show, it’s like I realized “WTF,” this guy’s sound padded out the entire ’10s era through the rise and fall of SoundCloud rap.

By the end of the show, you simply realize that damn near any artist paired up with Metro is a match made in heaven. Nah, for real, because where the f### is Big Sean when you need him? The entire crowd LITERALLY sang “Bounce Back” word for word when Metro Boomin dropped it. Kanye West was even showed major love during a moment of resurgence reassured with Metro Boomin’s co-sign of “Waves.” I walked out of Dolby Digital Theater with no doubt in my mind that Metro is THE top guy and was never the two or the three.

But hey, don’t take my word for it. Check out the full performance below and I’ll be willing to bet my pinky against a million you can’t make it through the full set without catching a vibe in a real way.

Mudd Bughatti: East St. Louis Rapper Meets Tragic End on Stan Musial Bridge

East St. Louis rapper Mudd Bughatti (real name Troy Edwards) met a tragic end in a targeted shooting incident on the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge. His death has sent ripples of sorrow through the music industry and his community.

Bughatti was fatally shot while driving his vehicle across the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge over the weekend. The incident occurred on a Sunday night, marking a somber moment for the East St. Louis music scene.

Illinois State Police reported that a white SUV, driven by Mudd Bughatti was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 from Missouri when it came under gunfire. 

The attack resulted in Mudd Bughatti’s death at the scene, while a passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mudd Bughatti, 35, was a buzzing rapper whose best-known song is called “50.” The track went viral after inmates rapped the lyrics to the track during a massive riot at the St. Louis Justice Center in April of 2021. 

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with the Illinois State Police leading the efforts. The motive behind the shooting and the identification of suspects remain under scrutiny as authorities work to uncover the details of this tragic event.

While her name may not resonate as loudly as some of her contemporaries, Nikki D’s ability to break through with a combination of brute force and social savvy has paved a way for scores of young talents. Recently, Nikki D made headlines after ranting about “the prostitution era” in Hip-Hop, talking directly about numerous women in popular Hip-Hop. The response was mixed. One thing that cannot be debated is that the New Jersey native helped kick down a door without the benefit of a co-sign. In the late 80s and early 90s, rap was predominantly a male-dominated industry. Her mere presence challenged the status quo and helped break down gender barriers. She was the very first woman signed to iconic Def Jam Records.

Nikki D’s pioneering contributions laid a foundation for subsequent generations of female artists. MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, her peers in rap, demonstrated that women could thrive and excel in Hip-Hop. Her legacy lives on in the countless female MCs who have followed in her footsteps.

While Nikki D may not have achieved the same commercial success or widespread recognition as some of her peers, she is a priceless, invaluable part of Hip-Hop’s history. Her journey is an inspiration, a stark reminder that determination, talent, and a indomitable spirit can leave a lasting mark.

Hassan Campbell Shows Us The Bullet & Alleged Proof He Was Shot

The Critics and Haters might have to eat this one!

Hassan Campbell‘s recent hospitalization sent shockwaves through the online community, acting as a stark reminder that YouTube and the streets are very different. The Bronx native was reportedly shot, but the streets almost instantly called “cap,” because of the way the video played out. It really did not seem like he was blasted. Luckily, doctors successfully removed the bullet. This effectively dispelled any doubts about the the incident.

Like I said, some online critics speculated that Hassan faked the entire event. This turn of events has silenced those skeptics, and really has to have us thinking about misinformation in Hip-Hop. This was pervasive as a rumor or news. We really did not know.

The Bronx is a tough place. Hassan Campbell is a dude that made his bones as “Poppy” in the streets. He’s also known as one of the alleged victims of Hip-Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa. He started his career as somebody fighting for kids in Hip-Hop. Why he’s trolling people outside of a housing project is weird to me. Nevertheless, this serves as a sobering reminder that sh#t is real.

Did 50 Cent Leak Allegations In Cassie’s Lawsuit Against Diddy In 2010?

An audio clip that recently resurfaced may prove that 50 Cent had the drop on the allegations Cassie Ventura accused Diddy of in the bombshell lawsuit they just settled.

Just in case you missed it, Cassie sued Diddy in a Manhattan federal court on November 16, alleging years of rape and physical abuse. Among the numerous violent and disturbing claims outlined in the lawsuit, the allegation Diddy forced Cassie to have sexual intercourse with male prostitutes appear to be the source of a nearly 13-year-old audio clip that recently resurfaced.

In the clip currently circulating the web, 50 Cent appears to say he was sent graphic pictures of Cassie being “penetrated” by different male individuals.

“Check this out, on the up and up—the n#### Puff (Diddy) used to call, we used to kick it on the phone after the Ma$e s###t and the n###a would be like, matter of fact they sent me the pictures of his girl,” 50 Cent said in part. “Like not the s### that y’all saw, worse, way worse. Like penetration pictures.”

Cassie’s Lawsuit Against Diddy Dismissed After Shockingly Swift Settlement

Almost as quickly as Cassie Ventura filed her bombshell lawsuit against Diddy (real name Sean Combs), the case was settled. Now, TMZ reports the case is officially dismissed. As the court documents explain: “Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, Plaintiff hereby dismisses this action, with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.” Ventura won’t be allowed to file again.

Ventura filed the lawsuit in a Manhattan federal court on Thursday (November 16), alleging rape, physical assault and a myriad of other wild accusations. Less than 24 hours, both parties revealed they “amicably” settled the lawsuit outside of court.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support,” while Diddy said, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

As social media blew up with reactions—mostly blaming Diddy and assuming he was guilty based on how fast he settled—Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, denied that was the case.

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” Brafman said. “Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

During the more than 10 years they dated, Ventura said Diddy provided her with “copious amounts of drugs,” including ecstasy and ketamine. The suit said he often became violent, beating her “multiple times each year.” The suit also noted Ventura never sought help from the police because she feared it “would merely give Mr. Combs another excuse to hurt her.”

In a 2012 incident described in the court papers, Ventura alleged Diddy grew so angry about her dating Kid Cudi that he said he would blow up his car: “Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.” Kid Cudi confirmed Ventura’s account through a spokesperson, saying, “This is all true.”

A$AP Rocky To Face Jury Trial Over 2021 Shooting As Prosecutors Introduce New Video Evidence

A$AP Rocky will be facing a jury trial on felony charges stemming from an alleged shooting that happened in 2021. On Monday (November 20), a judge ruled there’s enough evidence for Rocky’s case involving A$AP Relli. According to TMZ, Rocky will faces two counts of first-degree assault with a firearm and will be arraigned on January 8.

The major development in the case arrives following the hearing on November 20, during which prosecutors unveiled video of what they claim is Rocky holding a gun before he allegedly shot Relli. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detective Frank Flores testified that the police obtained the video during their investigation of the incident. In addition to the video, the prosecution also presented still photos that they claim depict Rocky with a gun along with another video clip they’ve alleged shows the two gunshots that were fired during the altercation.

Prior to the hearing on November 20, Relli testified against Rocky himself, claiming he and the “Riot” rapper’s relationship had soured in the time leading up to the incident. During another hearing on November 8, Relli testified that Rocky pulled out a gun and said, “I’ll kill you right now,” to which he replied, “Shoot that s###. Why you brought a gun if you’re not going to use it? You don’t scare me.” 

Authorities weren’t able to recover shell casings from the scene of the incident, however Relli claims he returned to where the shooting occurred that same night and recovered two shell casings on his own. Reports also have confirmed that no fingerprints were found on the shell casing Relli turned over to authorities.

Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina claimed he has evidence that will be “devastating” to Relli’s case in a statement to the media immediately following the hearing.

“Common sense is going to prevail and we’re going to get him through this and he’s going to be vindicated,” Tacopina said in part. “The evidence we have that they don’t know about is going to be devastating.”

Ludacris Reveals Why He Hasn’t Dropped Album In Years; Teases Return To Music

Ludacris aims to return to music in 2024. The 46-year-old rapper/actor discussed why he took an eight-year-long break from music and focused on his acting career in a November 20 interview with BET.

“It was just taking a step back and getting hungry again, living some life,” he said. “’Cause when you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life. So, if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”

Ludacris has not released an album since 2015’s Ludaversal. He was unsure if his next project would be an album, but he vowed to deliver new music in 2024.

“Some music projects will be coming out next year,” he said. “I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. I don’t wanna be like [André] 3000 and say, ‘I got an album coming out.’ I don’t know. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out.”

Ludacris’ latest movie Dashing Through the Snow dropped on November 17. The holiday film is available to stream on Disney Plus.

50 Cent Keeps Foot On Diddy’s Neck With Cassie Lawsuit Settlement Joke

50 Cent continued his trolling of Diddy, whom Cassie sued for rape and physical abuse, in an Instagram post on Monday (November 20). The G-Unit leader shared a meme referencing the undisclosed amount Diddy paid Cassie to settle her bombshell lawsuit out of court.

“If I text you this, it means I want my money by tomorrow,” read the text alongside a photo of Cassie posing next to Diddy. 50 Cent added, “I’m not waiting till Monday,” in his Instagram caption.

50 Cent’s latest mockery of Diddy hit social media after the rapper/TV producer deleted previous Instagram comments about the settlement.

“LOL He paid that money real quick, should have done that before the sharks,” 50 Cent wrote in his since-deleted post. “Saw the blood in the water and here they come in 5,4,3,2,1 every woman he put his hand on.”

Cassie, whose real name is Cassandra Ventura, filed her lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Diddy in Manhattan federal court on November 16. She accused him of abusing her for years, including a 2018 incident in which he allegedly raped her. The two quickly announced a settlement on November 17.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Cassie’s attorney Douglas Wigdor added, “I’m very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit.”

Diddy released his own statement wishing Cassie and her family “all the best.” His lawyer Ben Brafman claimed the settlement was not an admission of guilt.

“Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims,” Brafman said. “He is happy they got to a mutual settlement.”

Brafman accused Cassie of a failed attempt to blackmail Diddy in his original response to the lawsuit. He said the complaint included “baseless” lies.
