Fans have been going crazy over the “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” 25th Anniversary tour.
Despite a few hiccups, many are dancing to her classic catalog and enjoying seeing the New Jersey native and her bandmates from The Fugees rip the stage live.
However, fans of Lauryn Hill in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were left severely disappointed upon hearing the news that her show tonight (October 23) is be canceled.
According to a statement, Lauryn Hill is experiencing some wear and tear on her voice — a result of singing her face off at the last few shows.
“Dear Philadelphia, It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you. One the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow. I need to rest my voice to prevent any more serious strain or damage to my vocal cords,” she wrote on Facebook, adding, “The start of this tour has been incredible. What an amazing experience to celebrate this anniversary with all of my family, my friends, and all of you.”
She said that she is looking forward to giving the fans in Philly the show they “deserve with a fully recovered and healthy voice.”

Jokes aside, it seems the public backlash has taken a toll on the book sales. According to Showbiz411, the book initially ranked No. 4 on Amazon’s best-seller list on Tuesday (October 17). However, as Will Smith fans continued to see Pinkett Smith in a negative light, its ranking plummeted to No. 44, with the Kindle version now at around 2,700. Her Barnes and Noble sales also mirror slow burn in the marketplace, ranking the release nationally at No. 173.

While Blueface has been fairly quiet regarding the matter, it appears as though he’s moved on. I think it’s absolutely wicked to question the legitimacy of a union between two people, but it’s hard to think Blueface is being sincere in his recent public proposal to the first mother of one of his children, Jaidyn Alexis.

Apparently, the social media crank yanker who recently targeted T.I. and Trae Tha Truth could be in litigation with Boosie Badazz’s camp.
The claim was made on Instagram in the comments section of a repost of the video. A user by the name of @videorakim alleges the content creator in question, who goes by the name of White Dolomite, was involved in an altercation with Boosie’s nephew when he tried a similar prank with the New Orleans lyricist.
“This guy got punched by Boosie’s nephew when he tried to prank Boosie,” the user wrote. “He actually pressed charges against the nephew when he got dropped.” While it is hard to pin down whether or not there was any legal action taken, evidence of the blow landed clearly exists on the creator’s page.
Believe it or not, Dolomite actually identifies as Black, and channeled his biracial experiences as a young rapper throughout his teenage years—before taking the viral social media route.

City Girls are back in the spotlight with their latest album, RAW. Anticipation for this release has been building for a number of reasons. First, the album stands for “Real A$$ Wh0res” and has been very controversial. Personally, I find it so low frequency that I think it may have bit them in their butts.
At the time of this writing, the duo is set to move 6,000 to 8,000 units, which is pretty low considering they just came off a lot of press and a BET Hip-Hop Award performance. What went wrong?
City Girls—Yung Miami and JT—have risen to prominence since their debut. They have Girl Code and City on Lock, both commercial successes. Girl Code (2018) splashed down at No. 55 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the RIAA. City on Lock did even better when it was released in 2020.
The City Girls’ chart performance reflected a growing influence and popularity within rap. These recent RAW first-week sales numbers aren’t in the same league as their past work. RAW was expected to be another big addition to the City Girls’ discography. The album’s title suggests an unfiltered and genuine expression of their artistry, but the acronym may have backfired. Also, the world has changed. Sexyy Red, GloRilla and others have taken up a lot of space that the City Girls used to occupy. I honestly think these new chicks drove them to have such a wild album title.
While the first-week sales projections for RAW are modest compared to some of the industry’s heavyweights, it doesn’t mean they are over. They still have Diddy in their back pocket, so I’m certain he will continue to help them when like when Caresha, Please won Best Hip-Hop Platform this year (again). They also may get some traction going through platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, which are likely to buoy their efforts. City Girls have a dedicated fan base and I think they will show up over time.

One of The Game’s recent Instagram Story posts kicked off a back-and-forth online. A screenshot uploaded by Hollywood Unlocked set the outlet’s IG comment section ablaze with takes.

Drake once proudly represented his Jewish heritage in his content. As a result, fellow Jewish celebrity DJ Vlad called out the Canadian Hip-Hop superstar for not speaking out on the ongoing, deadly situation in Israel and Gaza.
DJ Vlad also chastised Palestinian-American DJ Khaled for remaining silent as well. The VladTV founder interviewed DJ Akademiks to get his take on Drake choosing not to use his global platform to address the hostilities in the Middle East.

Queens battle rapper DNA got the stamp of approval from 50 Cent, who featured one of his songs on the latest episode of Power.
The track appears on the closing credits of episode 8 of Power Book IV: Force, titled “Dead Reckoning.” DNA took to social media over the weekend to celebrate the achievement. He shared a video of the song playing as the closing credits rolled.

The President and his wife took some time out over the weekend, heading to his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware home. The couple was pictured relaxing on the beach as the conflict continued in the Middle East, but their so-called vacation was actually misinformation that started with an article at The Daily Mail.
Social media users blasted the President online for escaping the crisis, but did not realize it was erroneous and flat-out wrong. Among them was 50 Cent, who took to Instagram calling on Joe Biden to return to Washington.
On Saturday (October 21), Fiddy shared a headline from a report about Biden’s vacation that read, “Biden hits the beach with Middle East, Congress in chaos,” adding his reaction in the caption.
“Hey Joe get the f### up,” he wrote. “We in trouble man!”

In fact, Instagram flagged the post. The statement read, “Independent fact-checkers say information in this post is missing context and could mislead people. Photo Does NOT Show Joe Biden Sunbathing On Beach During Gaza And U.S. House Crisises In October 2023 — It’s An Old Picture.”

The rapper who is currently embroiled in a legal battle over custody of his son with Blac Chyna, is taking some time out to relax on a beach trip. Tyga seemingly shed his worries – and everything else – during his trip, as shown in his vacation snaps.
He took to Instagram Sunday to post a few highlights from his trip. Tyga shared a series of photos of himself against a backdrop of golden sands, blue skies and crashing waves. The first few pics featured the “Brand New” hitmaker showing off his tattoos while wearing a pair of blue swim shorts, by the last slide, Tyga had ditched the clothes altogether.

Lil Baby has spoken out after a video surfaced online claiming to feature the rapper engaged in a sex act with another man.
The Atlanta native was trending on Sunday (October 22) as users on X (formerly Twitter) circulated the explicit clip, alleging Lil Baby was the man in the video. Some also suggested James Harden, who is good friends with Lil Baby, was the second person in the clip.

Lil Yachty was scheduled to perform at the Thunderbird Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia on Saturday night (October 22), but the show didn’t go according to plan. Per TMZ, the 26-year-old rapper appeared to encourage the crowd to rush the stage, causing organizers to pull the plug. Concert attendees claimed Lil Yachty was yelling “fill it up” as he started his set. Fans then began climbing over railings and security guards to get to the mosh pit area to be as close to Lil Yachty as possible.
After performing three or four songs, Lil Yachty’s mic was cut and the house lights were turned on. Someone then announced over the speaker that if attendees didn’t return to their seats, the show would be canceled. Evidently, they didn’t follow orders quickly enough and the show ended prematurely.

Concert promoters have been on high alert since 2021, when Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival ended in tragedy. During the show, a crowd surge ultimately led to 10 deaths. Scott faced questioning in a deposition for various lawsuits filed against him last month. It marked the first opportunity for attorneys to question Scott about the horrific incident.
“Travis Scott’s deposition is typical legal procedure,” Ted Anastasiou, a spokesperson for Scott, said in a statement. “What is not typical is how the media continues to focus on him despite being cleared of any wrongdoing by extensive government investigations, including by the Houston Police Department. Travis is fully cooperating with the legal process while still remaining committed to his tour in support of his record-breaking album, ‘Utopia,’ and his charitable efforts to support at-risk communities.”
More than 1,500 cases were filed against Scott and other parties involved in the Astroworld Festival. Live Nation reached settlements with some of the families of victims who died. No charges were filed against Scott following an investigation by the Houston Police Department. A grand jury also declined to indict him and five other people on any criminal counts related to the deadly concert. Police Chief Troy Finner wouldn’t explain his agency’s overall conclusion.
A man of many titles, T.I. has done it all. He’s a family man, first and foremost, a rapper, actor, producer, businessman and entrepreneur. Tip was recently joined by Grand Hustle members DJ Toomp, David Banner, Zaytoven, DJ MLK, D.J. Scream, Rep. Nikema Williams and other Atlanta officials to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his Trap Muzik album at the ATL’s Vendure Kitchen and Cocktails.
“Trap music is basically a philosophical presentation set to music that lets everyone know that number one, there’s a way out, number two, you’re not alone; number three, the lessons that you’ve learned from it is not in vain,” T.I. said. “The circumstances that we endured were supposed to destroy us. They were supposed to take all opportunities off of the table for us.”
Williams, who represents Georgia’s fifth district, spoke about how much T.I. has inspired people in and around Atlanta and across the country.
“I was once a public-school teacher in Atlanta 20 years ago and literally had to put kids out of my class for singing T.I.,” Williams said. “It was because they saw somebody who represented them and the neighborhoods that they’re from and saw there was a way out of their current situation and circumstances. I know what it means to have someone you could look up to show you that there is so much more in this world. That is what T.I. has done for generations of young people and not just Atlanta, not just the south, but the country.”
T.I. was quick to thank everyone involved in his album Trap Muzik and the genre.
“Although it is the 20th anniversary of the album Trap Muzik, we are not celebrating the album. We are celebrating the culture. The culture has evolved and existed beyond the life of the album because of the contributions of so many others outside of myself,” T.I. said.
“Trap music means the struggle and the grind trying to get it,” P$C rapper Big Kuntry King added.
On October 10, T.I. made his directorial and writing debut in the movie Da Partments, nearly 22 years after releasing his debut album I’m Serious.
“There is a lot of work that we put in and there’s still a lot of work to be done,” T.I. said. “I’m excited about all of the parts of the journey. Da Partments is a story about community and all the nuances of that community, the people that existed and ambitions and life lessons that come with it and their struggles and their humor. Art is supposed to be a representation of life. This comedy represents the parts of life that I feel a lot of people come from but don’t get to see on television.”
T.I. also spoke about prominent and well-respected Hip-Hop historian NuFace, who coined the popular hashtag and phrase “NuFace Was There'” and what he means to the culture and music.
“NuFace’s contribution to culture is incredible, and it must be celebrated and acknowledged. He represents the value of preserving history,” T.I. said. “A lot of these things, I don’t think anybody including myself really recognized the true value of it in the future. His preservation of our memorabilia is synonymous with the preservation of having Mike Tyson’s first boxing glove or having the jersey that Michael Jordan first won a championship in.”
Best known as the “King of The South,” the multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning rapper has released 11 albums. His previous album, The L.I.B.R.A., was released in 2020. He’s best known for songs such as “24s,” “Rubber Band Man,” “You Don’t Know Me,” “Big Things Poppin,” “Be Easy” and “Family Connect.”
“Big Boi once said the object of the game of chess is to kill the King, and chess is obviously a game of life,” he said. “He was right about that, and I understand it more now than I did then. ‘Kill the King’ is really a reflection of the concept of killing the ego. ‘Kill the King’ is reflective of my understanding that one will starve the ego to truly find peace.”

Kim Kardashian has admitted that she is seeking a “more age-appropriate” relationship after her romance with Pete Davidson.
During the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” the 42-year-old reality star revealed one of her requirements for potential suitors.
Before attending an Arsenal F.C. game with her sons while in London, Kim’s friends teased that there could be “cute guys” at the sporting event.
“Why are you all looking at me? I have age limits, guys,” Kim Kardashian told them. “I need just a little more age-appropriate. I need (someone in their) 40s.”
In a confessional during the episode, Kim stated that her friends are desperate to set her up with someone. However, she insisted that she is “okay” being single for the time being.
“When you’re single and all your friends are married, it’s like you have desperation on your face and everyone under the sun wants to hook you up with someone,” she said. “I’m genuinely just okay with being by myself for a minute and the right situation will come my way.”
Kim finalized her divorce from Kanye West, 46, in November 2022 after six years of marriage. They share four children, North, 10, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four.
The Kardashians star was recently rumored to be dating NFL star Odell Beckham Jr., 30, but this has not been confirmed.
