50 Cent Battle With Remy Martin Over Branson Bottle Escalates

50 Cent will be heading to trial with rival liquor brand Remy Martin in court in a beef over each company’s bottle designs.

Earlier this week, Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ruled that Remy Martin had met its initial burden in proving that 50″s Branson Cognac had lifted significant portions of its bottle design from the French company’s XO brand.

The battle erupted last August, when E. Remy Martin & Co. sued Sire Spirits, 50’s liquor business, named after his youngest son.

E. Remy Martin & Co. makes the XO line of cognac, while Sire Spirits creates the rap star’s famous brand, Branson Cognac.

The French distillery sued 50 Cent, claiming the rap star stole their Centaur de Diamant’s bottle shape and used the trademarked design for Branson.

Remy Martin believes 50 Cent’s Branson design will confuse consumers in the marketplace.

50 Cent fired back in a legal reply and claimed Branson was scared of the competition and that Remy Martin was attempting to destroy his brand.

The rap star attempted to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming his design was taken from canteens used by soldiers during the Civil war in the 1860s.

The rapper’s lawyer claimed Remy Martin was attempting to launch a “multi-front legal battle” to force an “exorbitant settlement” out of Sire Spirits.

However, 50 Cent may have to take the dispute to trial after his high-powered legal team attempted to have the lawsuit thrown out of court was defeated this week.

A pretrial conference is slated for April 29th, 2022.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent continues to make moves with Branson. Last week, it was announced that Sire Spirits launched a new partnership with the Houston Rockets.

50’s company signed a multi-year deal for Branson and his champagne brand Le Chemin du Roi.

The two brands will be showcased in multiple themed bars, branded luxury suites, and even a courtside box inside the Toyota Center.

50 is also getting his own restaurant, named the Sire Spirits Bar & Restaurant.

Bow Wow Responds To Reports He’s Beefing With Jermaine Dupri

Shad “Bow Wow” Moss had a lot to say on Twitter over the last 24 hours. An extended conversation about the quality of Bow Wow’s album catalog morphed into a discussion about his working relationship with Jermaine Dupri.

Many Hip Hop followers cite Jermaine Dupri as one of the most influential figures in Bow Wow’s three-decade career. A teenage Bow Wow released his debut album, 2000’s Beware of Dog, via Dupri’s So So Def Recordings.

Yesterday, Bow Wow told his Twitter followers that he believes Beware of Dog and all of his other projects are “mid.” Moss also stated he wished he had signed with his original music mentor, Snoop Dogg, instead of So So Def.

Some of Bow Wow’s fans then started pointing out Jermaine Dupri’s role in the 35-year-old actor/rapper’s success. Bow responded by downplaying his current artistic connection with the 49-year-old record executive/recording artist.

Are Bow Wow & Jermaine Dupri No Longer Working Together?

“Me and JD have no work chemistry. I ain’t work with that boy in years. He do him and I do me,” tweeted Bow Wow in response to a Twitter user who suggested So So Def was “perfect” for the performer once known as Lil Bow Wow.

Moss later added, “Snoop is the best thing that [happened] to me. If it [wasn’t] for him, none of yall would know me. That’s the only big homie I got. He gave me a chance. Everyone else was just add ons to what we had started.”

However, Bow Wow made sure to make it clear he does not have any animosity towards Jermaine Dupri. Bow posted, “JD cool. We just don’t work together that’s all. Me and JD ain’t worked together in like 10 years. I gotta work with the man to be cool?”

On Thursday morning, the Like Mike star reiterated there is no bad blood between himself and Dupri. Bow Wow wrote, “People [are] thinking me and JD beefing. [We’re] not. I’m just giving y’all the real. We haven’t worked together in 10 yrs. And… If u really a fan yall know our relationship is not the most perfect one.”

Karrueche Tran Addresses Quavo Dating Rumors

Daytime Emmy Award winner Karrueche Tran (The Bay) has been romanticly linked to Quavious “Quavo” Marshall again. According to reports, Tran began spending time with Quavo, 30, in recent weeks.

The Hollywood Fix caught up with Karrueche during a night out in Los Angeles. Someone asked the 33-year-old actress/producer about the alleged relationship with the Migos member.

“You just had to ask didn’t you?” Tran told the paparazzi at the scene. “We’re friends… I’m single. I’m having fun and enjoying life. Nothing is too serious… We have fun, we’re friends.”

Karrueche and Quavo supposedly spent time together during a dinner date in West Hollywood earlier this month. Entertainment Tonight later ran an article claiming a source confirmed the two celebrities were casually dating.

Rumors of Karrueche and Quavo as an item go back to 2017. That supposed connection between the Claws star and the “Bad and Boujee” hitmaker allegedly led to an altercation involving R&B singer Chris Brown and the Migos that same year.

Chris Brown used to date Karrueche Tran beginning in 2011. Once that relationship ended, Tran received a temporary restraining order against Brown after she accused him of harassment and abuse.

Quavo’s list of ex-girlfriends also includes Saweetie. The former couple had a very public breakup in 2021 which included old footage of an elevator altercation between Quavo and Saweetie being leaked online. However, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office did not seek indictments against either rapper.

50 Cent Shares His Love Of Netflix’s Top Boy & “Can’t Wait” To Work With U.K. Actor Ashley Walters

50 Cent showed some love to fellow actor and rapper from across the pond, Top Boy star Ashley Walters on Wednesday (Mar. 24), after the British artist recounted the time Fif blessed an entire cast with designer watches.

During a recent interview, Ashley Walters discussed appearing with 50 Cent in the 2005 biopic, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. “Bruv, it was dope man,” the actor said before revealing he became “obsessed” with the New York rapper when his brother played him a tape on the day he was released from prison.

A short while later, Ashley Walters found himself working alongside him. He felt “like I’ve made it,” he admitted, explaining he would see the likes of Eminem and the G-Unit crew around the set.

At the time, it was uncommon for U.K. artists to be dripping in ice with buss down watches, unlike now. However, while shooting the movie in New York, Ashley decided to treat himself to a Jacob watch for his birthday. He couldn’t afford one of the higher-end pieces and opted for one within his budget. While he returned to the set “feeling like the man,” 50 Cent was unimpressed.

50 Cent Is A Generous Boss

“That’s dead. How much you pay for that?” came the response. When Ashley revealed he spent about $9,000 on the watch, 50 Cent took him back to the store. “When we go inside, say you’re my cousin,” 50 Cent instructed before berating the staff for allowing his “cousin’ to walk out the store with a $9k watch. “Ash, pick whatever watch you want,” Fif told him before making up the difference on his chosen timepiece. “The next day, he bought every actor that watch,” Ashley said of the generous star. Watch the full interview below.

However, Ashley Walters could get the opportunity to work with the TV mogul once again. 50 Cent took to Instagram, sharing his love for the U.K. crime drama, revealing he would like to work with Ashley Walters.

“If you watched Get Rich or Die Tryin’ you know why I love Top Boy, @ashleywalters is my man,” Fiddy wrote. “I can’t wait to do a show with him. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi GLG🚦GreenLightGang 🎯I don’t miss.”

Joyner Lucas Blasts Machine Gun Kelly Over Lollapalooza Headlining Spot

Joyner Lucas is not happy about his placement on the 2022 Lollapalooza poster. The Grammy-nominated emcee took to Twitter to vent his frustrations about the Chicago-set festival. He also decided to take shots at Machine Gun Kelly in the process.

“These festivals [are] gon stop playing with me like I ain’t that n####. Putting my name next to the names of a bunch of random n##### that nobody heard of and offering me a weak ass 💰. Then I say no to the offer and these hoe ass n##### put me on the flier anyways. @lollapalooza,” tweeted Joyner Lucas on Wednesday afternoon.

He added, “N##### is on gon start putting respek on my name. For years [I’ve] been getting these weak ass offers like I’m some lil n####. Then n##### who ain’t even on my level or doing my numbers is getting put in BIG LETTERS while they write my s### hella small on the flier! How sway?!!”

Joyner’s rant continued, “I’m the biggest independent artist period with the exception of my n#### [Tech N9ne]. And I got the numbers & the fans & the💰 to back that statement up. How is it that these festivals keep tryna bunch my name up with a bunch of n##### who ain’t on my level? N####, I’m JOYNER LUCAS 🤨.”

The 33-year-old “I’m Not Racist” and “ADHD” rapper went on to demand Lollapalooza take his name off this year’s flyer. Eventually, Joyner Lucas turned his attention to Machine Gun Kelly.

Machine Gun Kelly Catches Stray Shots From Joyner Lucas

“Then you got this goofy ass n#### headlining? Smh how sway?” tweeted Joyner Lucas, along with a photo of MGK. Some other Twitter users then began trolling Lucas over his takedown of Marshall “Eminem” Mathers’s longtime adversary.

“Someone said ‘don’t bring out the rap devil’… 😭 maaaaannnn listen. Lol. What my brother Marshall did to this n#### @machinegunkelly is light compared to what’s waiting if he wanna walk down that street wit me. Ain’t nobody worried bout a n#### who paints his nails. 💅🏿 foh,” posted Lucas.

Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly engaged in a years-long, highly-publicized feud that supposedly began over MGK’s comments about Em’s then-teenage daughter. The beef featured several diss tracks, including Kelly’s “Rap Devil” in 2018.

Joyner Lucas often cites Eminem as one of his biggest musical influences. The Massachusetts native teamed up with Em for 2018’s “Lucky You” collaboration. That track earned a Best Rap Song nomination at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

‘Insecure’ Star Sarunas Jackson Slams Trey Songz For Turning Down Fight

R&B singer Trey Songz has been dealing with serious sexual misconduct allegations at the moment. Fellow entertainer, Sarunas Jackson, also accuses Songz of being disrespectful towards women.

Sarunas J. Jackson, best known for playing Alejandro ‘Dro’ Peña on HBO’s Insecure, made an appearance on the Guys Next Door podcast. The interview included Jackson talking about wanting to fight the “Say Aah” performer.

“Trey Songz’s a b#### ass n####. [He] tries to press women but then would turn down the fade when a n#### came up to him,” Sarunas Jackson told the GND hosts.

The Good Trouble actor continued, “I’m not cool with n##### like that. I tried to knock the n#### out, keep running, but he wants to fight women and stuff like that. To me, I can’t operate like that.”

An unnamed woman recently filed a $20 million lawsuit against Trey Songz, claiming he forcibly raped her in 2016. Other alleged victims have also sued Songz (born Tremaine Neverson). The 37-year-old performer denies the accusations.

Trey Songz has been connected to other violence as well. He avoided charges stemming from a 2021 altercation with a Kansas City police officer during an NFL game. Later that year, a Los Angeles bartender claimed Songz assaulted him inside the Hollywood Palladium.

Additionally, news broke about Trey Songz allegedly injuring a woman from a hit-and-run incident in May 2021. When it comes to his music career, Trey Songz has not dropped a studio album since 2020’s Back Home.

Carl Crawford Has Megan Thee Stallion ‘Coke Head’ Receipts?

So, the entrenched legal battle between Megan Thee Stallion and Carl Crawford intensifies. Actually, he is threatening to drop ‘coke head’ receipts! Recently, the record exec hopped on Instagram Live to make the caustic allegations.

Of course, Tina Snow’s lyrical dexterity continues to impact the genre. In fact, for her contributions to the craft, she has yielded great distinction. This year, she is the recipient of iHeart Radio’s Trailblazer award. To date, she is earning tremendous professional success.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CbbdaNsrtlW/

However, her personal life appears to be experiencing profound discord. First off, the Houston Hottie was allegedly shot by a peer. Additionally, she is embroiled in another legal proceeding. Her former label, 1501 ENT is claiming breach of contract.

In other words, Carl Crawford — the baseball star-turned music executive — is upset that the acclaimed artist left his label. Be that as it may, any legal proceedings are unable to confine his apparent disdain. Generally speaking, he is using social media as a platform to voice his angst.

To be fair, in a previous wifi war of words Hot Girl Meg, did insinuate that Carl has an indulgent nature. Following that insult Carl comes out swinging. “Aye Meg, you better tell your fans about this coke sh*t before I really get to telling them who the coke head is around this muthaf*cker,” chides Carl.

Soon, he insists, “I’m telling you.  I don’t got nothing but atomic bombs in my system.  I got evidence proof.  I’m going to present receipts.” To make things worse, Crawford believes that the “Savage” MC owes him millions of dollars.

In any case, he is definitely seeking to regain a return on his investment. Then, of himself, he declares, “They just trying to hoe a n*gga.”

Will Megan Thee Stallion be able to get past this accusation?

Tupac Unpublished Childhood Poetry Written For His Imprisoned Black Panther Godfather Up For Auction

Tupac Shakur had a way with words from an early age, exemplified in an unpublished booklet of haiku poetry written and illustrated by Pac for his incarcerated Black Panther godfather. It is estimated to fetch up to $300,000 when it goes to auction Wednesday.

11-year-old Tupac wrote and illustrated the booklet nearly 40 years ago. Sotheby’s claim the booklet is “the earliest known manuscript by Shakur to come to market.”

He addressed it to his godfather, Jamal Joseph, and other Black Panther Party members. He signed the booklet, “Tupac ♥ Shakur, Future Freedom Fighter.”

Tupac Wrote The Booklet While Under FBI Surveillance

Sotheby’s description notes Tupac wrote the booklet while he, his mother Afeni Shakur, and his baby sister were under constant FBI surveillance. He sent it to Leavenworth federal penitentiary where his godfather was imprisoned.

Jamal revealed he kept the booklet with him at Leavenworth for about a year before sending it to his wife. If not for that foresight, the manuscript may never have survived. “The Guards had been searching cells after a gang stabbing and were messing up prisoners’ books, letters and photos,” Jamal explained. “If you had money in your commissary account to pay for shipping and a decent counselor you could get a permission slip and take your stuff to the mailroom to send home.”

The booklet appears as part of Sotheby’s “The Art and Influence of Hip Hop” collection. It also includes a number of love letters Tupac wrote to his high school sweetheart. Hip-hop artifacts and memorabilia “from the late 1970s through the “Golden Age” of the mid-1980s to mid-1990s, and up to the present,” also feature in the sale. Lots begin closing on March 30.

The auction was curated in part by Monica Lynch, former president of Tommy Boy Records. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the programs coordinated by “Uncle” Ralph McDaniels for Queen Public Library. Non-profit community organization Building Beats will also receive funds.

Meanwhile, as reported by AllHipHop, Jamal Joseph is working with Jasmine Guy and the estate of Tupac Shakur on a biopic of his mother, Afeni. The film explores the two years from April 2, 1969, when Afeni Shakur was arrested, alongside 20 other Black Panthers. The Panther 21 were on trial for conspiracy to bomb police stations in New York.

Latto Addresses Recent Comments About A Male Artist After Kodak Denied Responsibility

Latto pulled up to the breakfast Club on Wednesday morning (Mar. 23), after her appearance on Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show earlier this week caused social media sleuths to go into overdrive.

While discussing her upcoming album with Big Boy, she expressed the difficulty she experienced to clear the project. According to Latto, a male artist wanted sex in exchange for a feature

Following her revelation, internet detectives then honed in on the tracklist for 777 in an effort to determine the identity of said artist. Many settled on Kodak Black, who recently claimed his female artists must sleep with him to remain on his label.

Kodak Black Denies Responsibility

Kodak Black then took to Twitter to deny the rumors stemming from the Latto interview. “That Mulatto Girl IS NOT Talkin Bout Me Homie 🤣” he penned. “I See Y’all Steady Reachin Lol … Shawty Ain’t Even Say A N#### Name On Dat S### Ion Know Why Tf Y’all Tryna Make A N#### Wear Dat Jacket I’m Too Fly Fa Dat S### Homie.”

https://twitter.com/KodakBlack1k/status/1506150689478692865?s=20&t=Qpa8gsMgk5a95ikl1GuZ1A

Meanwhile, Latto explained she was simply sharing her experiences to warn up-and-coming female rappers. The ensuing whodunnit made her feel somewhat regretful.

“My intention was not to make this a whole thing,” said Latto. “I just was looking at it as, like, I’m a new female rapper in the game, I wish somebody could have given me some insight about how this stuff really goes. You hear female rappers have it harder but I really wanted to give a little insight as to what specifically makes it harder for female rappers. I didn’t want it to distract from the music or anything so I kind of wish, in a way, I didn’t say that.”

As to the male artist she referred to in the original story, Latto revealed he has not contacted her.

“I haven’t heard from them,” she said. “I’m not here to raise nobody… I’m just speaking on what I go through and I think I’m allowed to do that to a certain extent. Social media is trying to turn it into this thing where it’s like, oh, I’m trying to clout-chase or [they’re trying to] silence my experiences. It’s hard to know when you should and shouldn’t speak up.” Watch the full interview below.

Nas & A$AP Rocky Deliver DJ Premier–Assisted “Wave Gods” Visuals

Nas teams up with fellow New Yorker, A$AP Rocky in the visuals for “Wave Gods,” a nostalgia-driven video that gives viewers a glimpse of life at both ends of the wealth spectrum in the Big Apple.

Taken from Nas and Hit-Boy’s latest collaborative effort, Magic, the gritty video sees Flako and Nasir go from sleeping on benches and scouring for change on the subway to living the high-life, exploring how their paths could have turned out differently. “Every choice you make, makes you,” flashes on screen at the opener, foreshadowing the events to come.

Though incarcerated, the Wave God himself, Max B makes a cameo during the opening scene. “Nas, what’s good beloved?” he says on a voicemail. “Flack, what up beloved? Premo, I see you,” he says. “I’ma be home soon, god,” while a “Free Max B” poster hangs on the wall of the project apartment. Watch the video below.

Nas – “Wave Gods” feat. A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier

Magic is the third project the Queensbridge rapper created with producer Hit-Boy, following the King’s Disease albums. Nas, who refers to Hit-Boy as the Quincy Jones to his Michael Jackson, shared his surprised at just how successful the pairing has become.

The duo planned to collaborate on a couple of tracks at the start of the global pandemic. “It just so happened that the world stopped just as we started doing the two songs,” Nas explained. “He kept on at me to come up to the studio and work, and he pushed me to make it work.

Nas continued, “I was already a fan of his work, so I knew if we got in a room we would do something cool. I knew there would be great s###, but I didn’t know if that would be one song, two songs, or five songs. I definitely didn’t know it would be an album,” he added.

While they have delivered three studio albums in only 24 months, Nas feels under no pressure to continue at this pace. “It happened because it happened,” he said. “Like to drop two albums in a year, that was just the electricity in it, you know what I mean? That’s just how the energy was for me and Hit-Boy. So I mean, if anything I’m slowing it down a bit, maybe.”

Nas teased a third King’s Disease project back in December so we could have another one on the way soon.

Bizarre Writes “F#ck Arbys” Responding To Pusha T And Defending McDonalds!

Bizarre is beyond hilarious. The D-12 member continues to be one of the best trolls ever. And now, he targets Arby’s and Pusha-T. “F#ck Arbys” is an anthem for those that wish to take sides in the war of the burger joints. Arby’s is known primarily as the place that serves up roast beef sandwiches, but they have undergone a whole rebrand. Part of that is jumping into the social media fray. Pusha-T recorded a diss song aimed at McDonalds after crafting their updated classic jingle. It did not take long, but Bizarre jumps in with an unsolicited reply. He defends Arby’s but warns Mickey D’s too.

MAJ3STY Stayed Indie After Leaving Sony Music Opportunity

Russ and now MAJ3STY, the game is changing. For decades it has been every independent artist’s dream to land a deal with a major label, but as years go by we see more and more artists capitalize on their independence.

Emerging Independent Recording Artist MAJ3STY is no novice to the game. An open intellect with a mission, vision, and purpose which is clear in his music. We did some digging and found out that MAJ3STY had an opportunity to have a distribution deal with Sony Music but walked away.

Here’s what he has to say:

The deal was never directly with Sony Music. There was a company that reached out to me, they specialized in artists development and asked me if I wanted representation. I was all for it. I saw that they were legit so, I went forward with it.

Unfortunately, I didn’t understand that paying this company in order to move forward with the deal, was part of the process. They had all of these pictures of the CEO, who I spoke to directly being in Sony Music’s building etc.

But right when Covid-19 hit I was getting ready to put out a single titled ‘Big Steppa.’ I sent the files and the requested information to the company and they sent it to Sony Music. My job after that was to wait for Sony Music to upload it on their end. One day before the release date I realized that I never heard from anyone. I saw the CEO and A&R of that middleman company on Instagram promoting other artists but, never heard from them.

I decided that since I was signed to my own label that I’m the CEO of and since I represent myself, through my label… I’ll put the song out. Allowing someone to mess up my vision wasn’t an option. I put it out, waited for them to reach out and never heard from them. I don’t like drama so, I’ll be respectful and won’t disclose the company’s name but, my views on Sony Music and that other company changed. My song went top 10 on the radio in Nigeria that same year, but I promised myself I wouldn’t focus on a major label deal after that.

I do hope that Sony Music and that other company does well and I’m grateful for the lesson that the experience taught me.

From Manztrade lookout for the newest upcoming artist. Also being inspired by Wayne Pac and Drake, there are many greats out there who have allowed Manz to grow at his talent.

Being an artist comes with a lot of talent, the idea behind this is that all the beats behind music need to be created. With that being said, creating beats takes a lot of time and effort to allow for the music to flow for an artist’s voice. Creating music is something that takes a lot of time and effort and Manztrade is not here to mess around. Having already been featured on Stunna Gambino’s album which eventually went on to go gold, he says he definitely has more in the works for where this came from.

A year from now Manztrade sees himself making music with some of the biggest artists in the world and living his best life. Rapping is a unique talent and he believes that he is prepared to take it to the next level and really make it big and pursue the dreams he wishes to.

Manztrade says coming into the industry he wants to be able to make a name for himself and have people know his music when it is heard. After all, he wants to be known for his music and what he did within the music industry when he is gone.  Manztrade speaks on his next moves as just working hard every day and not trying to look back on anything. A way to live life is to have no regrets and that is something that Manztrade strives for every single day. Although Manztrade enjoys listening to his own stuff that he has made, he enjoys the comfort of listening to other music and seeing what he can learn from these artists.

With all of that being said Manztrade is on the rise and needs to be watched, there is a lot of potential for the upcoming rapper, and with all of the work he continues to put in, he will be on top in no time.
