Tekashi 6ix9ine Banned From Miami Apartment Complex Because There’s A Bounty On His Life

Controversial Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been banned from a luxury apartment complex in Miami.

The unit belongs to SteveWillDoIt from the Nelk Boys, but despite 6ix9ine’s relationship with the influencer, the property owners don’t want the rainbow-haired celebrity or his camp at the spot.

Managers of the complex posted a photo poster of the rapper with a description of his name, gender, race, age, height, and weight that read, “If seen on property, do not check-in, do not approach and contact security immediately. “

According to TMZ, a letter from the condo association was delivered to SteveWillDoIt claiming the “GOOBA” rapper’s bodyguards came to the residence with assault weapons toward the end of October.

Because the weapons were allegedly openly displayed, people were frightened.

This letter further claimed one member of his security personnel “casually left his assault weapon unattended on his bag” and left it alone while he left to speak to others.

Another concern of the condo association is that there is a “bounty placed on 6ix9ine’s life” since he was released from prison “in exchange for information regarding others and the provocative antics of 6ix9ine.”

They don’t want innocent bystanders, residents, guests, employees, and staff members to become casualties at his expense.

Rap Legend Grand Daddy I.U. Dies At 54

Rapper, producer and media host Grand Daddy I.U. has died suddenly.

The 54-year-old Hip-Hop legend passed away, for unknown reasons at the time this report was published.

Several sources confirmed the passing with AllHipHop and the news spread quickly.

DJ Chuck Chillout, who was a friend of the rapper, helped break the news to the masses on his Facebook account. They were hanging out recently in late November.

Grand Daddy I.U. was an MC that emerged in the late 80s to become one of the leading artist on iconic label Cold Chillin’ Records. The late Biz Markie played an instrumental role in his signing after he received Grand Daddy I.U.’s demo tape from his peer’s brother.

I.U.’s debut album, Smooth Assassin, produced a pair of hit records. “Something New” his No. 11 on the charts and “Sugar Free” peaked at No. 9.

In 2008, Nore put I.U. in his Top 5 Dead or Alive.

He said, “He’s always been one of the top emcees that I’’ve loved from that late 80’s / early 90’s period. If you look at Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt cover it sort of resembles that I.U.’s album cover (Smooth Assassin) where he had the same outfit on. Grand Daddy I.U. was one of the most lyrical, wordplay-having emcees. Young artists like Murda Mook…they don’t understand a lot of their style was fathered by Grand Daddy I.U.”

Grand Daddy I.U. continued to make his mark in Hip-Hop, as a rapper and a producer in the 1990s. He also did a lot of ghost writing. He released a sophomore album in 1994 called Lead Pipe.

He produced for Das EFX, Heltah Skeltah, KRS-One, Ice-T, and others. He frequently would appear at AllHipHop events too. Most recently he was doing work as a media personality and conducted interviews that were popularly promoted on Facebook.

NBA Drops 6 New Superlative Trophies, Including The Michael Jordan Trophy Awarded To Current Year’s MVP

Big changes are coming to the National Basketball Association.

According to a recent announcement, stating on social media they have several new trophies to be given to a phenomenal basketball players, sponsored by Kia America.

“The NBA today unveiled six newly designed trophies named after NBA legends, which will be presented to the end-of-season Kia Performance Award winners. The lineup is headlined by The Michael Jordan Trophy, awarded to the Kia NBA MVP,” the post.

“The Michael Jordan Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player The league’s MVP will now be awarded The Michael Jordan Trophy, bearing the name of the NBA legend widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. During his career, Jordan was MVP five times,” it continued.

The trophy stands 23.6 inches tall and weighs 23.6 pounds, representing Jordan’s jersey number (23) and number of NBA championships (6).
• Its five-sided base is a nod to Jordan’s five league MVPs.
• The namesake badge is six-sided, a nod to Jordan’s six NBA championships.
• The 15-degree angle of the base is a nod to Jordan’s 15-season career.
• The crystal basketball consists of 23 points, a nod to Jordan’s jersey number.
• The crystal basketball measures 1.23 inches in diameter, in reference to the singularity of the MVP and Jordan’s standout career.

“The Jerry West Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Clutch Player of the Year The NBA will introduce the new award at the end of the season. Legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn gave West the nickname ‘Mr. Clutch’ for his extraordinary shooting at the end of close games,” it also posted.

West commented on the trophy saying, “There are few greater thrills as a basketball player than coming through for your teammates and fans when they need it most.”

The Special Advisor for the LA Clippers added, “This new trophy will be awarded to the player who best delivers in those moments.”

Hakeem Olajuwon is even getting a trophy named after him.

“The Hakeem Olajuwon Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Defensive dominance helped define Hakeem Olajuwon’s Hall of Fame career,” the league continued. “He was a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and nine-time NBA All-Defensive Team selection.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to celebrate the league’s best defensive player each year,” said Olajuwon.  “Great basketball teams are defined by their ability to defend, with every great team connected by an elite defensive anchor.”

The NBA Rookie of the Year Trophy will be named after Philadelphia basketball great, Wilt Chamberlain.

“The Wilt Chamberlain Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Wilt Chamberlain’s 1959-60 season is unmatched for an NBA rookie. Chamberlain averaged 37.6 points and 27.0 rebounds in 46.4 minutes per game for the Philadelphia Warriors,” a tweet read.

Barbara Chamberlain Lewis, Wilt’s sister, and the Chamberlain family gave remarks saying, “We are humbled and thankful that the NBA has immortalized Wilt’s greatness with this honor. Wilt rewrote nearly every NBA record throughout his illustrious career, which tipped off with an incredible rookie season that redefined what was possible and set a ceiling as high as he stood for all rookies who have followed.”

“The John Havlicek Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year John Havlicek starred in his role off the bench during his Hall of Fame career. He came off the bench for the first seven seasons of his career and was an All-Star in four of those seasons,” the NBA tweeted.

“We are honored that the NBA recognized John’s career achievements with this award,” said Beth Havlicek, John’s wife, and the Havlicek family in recognition of the honor.  “John defined what it means to be the ultimate sixth man, with his leadership and stellar play serving as the utmost example of effectively starring in a role for the betterment of the team.”

Ending with, “The George Mikan Trophy – Awarded to the Kia NBA Most Improved Player of the Year: A layup and footwork exercise known as the ‘Mikan Drill’ has been used for decades by players at all levels to improve their game. It is named for George Mikan, who mastered the fundamentals.”

“We are grateful that the NBA has recognized George’s career achievements with this honor,” said Mike Mikan, son of George Mikan #99, and the Mikan family.  

Adding, “George is one of the best NBA players ever, but perhaps his greatest legacy is the one he has passed down to others through his legendary ‘Mikan Drill,’ providing generations of basketball players around the world with the tools to improve their game.”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Drops “Needed That” With The Late PnB Rock

Bronx-bred rap star A Boogie wit da Hoodie released his fourth studio LP, Me vs. Myself, on December 9. The project landed with several high-profile guest features.

A Boogie did not add a song with the late PnB Rock to the standard version of Me vs. Myself. He did promise to drop a collaboration with Rock as a bonus track for the deluxe edition.

“Needed That” featuring PnB Rock made its way to DSPs. The Ricardo Josias and Niaggi-produced track is now the first song on A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s Me vs. Myself (Deluxe). 

A Boogie Explains Why He Waited To Add PnB Rock To Me vs. Myself

“When it comes to PnB Rock too, that was a big one right there,” stated A Boogie about the passing of his friend. “That was the end of my album. I didn’t expect that right there. I had to put him on the album at the same time as not making it.”

A Boogie continued, “I don’t like to do that when it comes to people passing away, putting their music [out]. It feels like a weird tension towards that. And I don’t like that at all so I separated his song from my album and I’m dropping it solo as a deluxe.”

PnB Rock lost his life on September 12, 2022. A gunman shot and robbed the 30-year-old Philadelphia native inside the Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles. Prosecutors charged two suspects with first-degree murder.

A Boogie & PnB Joined Forces On Music Multiple Times

Prior to his death, PnB Rock frequently worked with A Boogie wit da Hoodie on music. The unofficial rap duo created numerous songs together such as “Playa No More,” “Horses,” “Lovin’,” “IDK,” and “Beast Mode.”

“[Not gonna lie,] I don’t know how to accept this one. 😢You was a big part of me coming into the game, s### the first n#### I met in the industry! It’s not too many [m############] that rap I call my brother [for real] but Rock was one of them,” posted A Boogie about his fallen comrade back in September.

Drake Considered Proposing 42 Times, Designs “Previous Engagements” Tribute Chain

Although Drake is a Certified Lover Boy, previously linked to some of the most successful and attractive women in the world, he never seems to settle down with any of them. 

The Toronto megastar’s musical catalog is full of tales of the former loves of his life. So famous is he for rapping about his exes that Saturday Night Live recently made him the subject of a skit. On “United Tingz of Aubrey,” the rapper’s exes formed a union to bring a class action suit seeking damages for anyone Drake dated before referencing in his lyrics.  

His rumored list of past loves is extensive and includes Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Tyra Banks, Tika Sumpter, and many more famous singers, actresses, and models. SZA recently confirmed she dated Drake back in the late 2000s and still thinks “highly” of him. 

Drake shares his five-year-old son Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux, but the pair were never in a committed relationship. 

However, a new piece of jewelry designed by the “Rich Flex” rapper reveals that he has considered getting down on one knee more than most. In fact, Drake has thought about popping the question a whopping 42 times! 

Not only does Drake remember every occasion, but he also went as far as commemorating each of those exes in stone. Diamonds to be precise, reportedly 351.38 carats worth. 

According to luxury jewelers Alex Moss, Drake commissioned a bespoke chain comprising 42 “engagement rings” mounted in 18k white gold. 

On Monday evening (Dec.12), the brand shared a video of the “monumental art piece,” calling it “a true wonder of the jewelry world.”

Too $hort Honored With “Too $hort Day” in Oakland

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf officially designated December 10, 2022, as “Too $hort Day” in the California city in honor of Hip Hop legend Todd “Too $hort” Shaw.

Additionally, a three-block stretch of Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland was officially renamed Too $hort Way. Hip Hop luminaries Ice Cube, Mistah F.A.B., and Sway Calloway attended the ceremony over the weekend.

$hort also announced a new partnership with the Oakland Unified School District, Affect The Youth, and Fremont High School. The alliance will work to bring back marching bands and music programs to the district.

Too $hort Day

With albums like 1983’s Don’t Stop Rappin’ and 1985’s Players, Too $hort began his 40-year run in the entertainment business. He is credited as the only active Hip Hop artist to release an album in five different decades.

Plus, $hort scored hits with songs like “The Ghetto,” “I’m a Player,” and “Blow the Whistle.” The 56-year-old emcee’s discography also includes collaborations with E-40, Scarface, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and many more.

Too $hort Day in Oakland

The Ain’t Gone Do It album arrived in 2020 as part of a two-pack with E-40’s Terms and Conditions. Both rhymers are also members of the Mount Westmore supergroup along with fellow California-based rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.

Last month, news broke that Too $hort’s “Freaky Tales” song inspired an upcoming motion picture of the same name. $hort and his manager David Weintraub serve as executive producers for the film. Fellow Oakland native Raphael Saadiq will supervise the movie’s music.

Ben Simmons Reacts To Tory Lanez’s Legal Team Claiming He Slept With Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez’s felony assault trial began this week in California. Social media became overwhelmed by the amount of information coming out of the courthouse on Tuesday, including speculation involving Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons.

Hip Hop star Megan Thee Stallion accused Tory Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) of shooting her in the feet back in July 2020. Los Angeles County prosecutors charged Lanez with felony assault and firearms violations.

Tory Lanez repeatedly denied being the shooter. Megan’s lawyer insisted back in 2021 that investigators discovered gunshot residue on Lanez’s hands. The prosecution also reportedly plans to present evidence to prove that Lanez tested positive for GSR.

According to reports, Lanez’s defense team plans to argue that Megan’s friend, Kelsey Nicole, was the actual shooter that night. She also reportedly tested positive for GSR. The lawyers claimed jealousy caused the violent incident because Megan slept with several of Nicole’s male companions.

That’s where Ben Simmons entered the conversation. The 3-time NBA All-Star’s name was apparently mentioned as one of the celebrities caught up in the personal drama between Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Nicole.

However, Simmons took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to shut down the rumors. At one point, the Australia-born basketball player posted a clip from AEW Dynamite featuring wrestlers Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland as well as Miami rapper Rick Ross.

In the video, Rick Ross can be heard yelling, “Accusations! False accusations!” It seemed clear Ben Simmons wanted to convey an obvious message of denial that he had sex with either Megan Thee Stallion or Kelsey Nicole.

Boosie On Kanye West: Blacks Should Do This Man Like The Jews Did Him

Boosie Badazz is back to dragging Kanye “Ye” West on social media. After briefly turning his attention to actress Gabrielle Union last week, Boosie now has more to say about Ye.

West again angered members of the Black community by sharing disparaging views about an icon of the Civil Rights Movement. As a key figure in the Montgomery bus boycott in the 1950s, Rosa Parks became known as The First Lady of Civil Rights. 

“All of these heroes man – it’s only one. That’s Jesus Christ. You’re gonna find out something about MLK, something about JFK, something about Malcolm, Rosa Parks. We know Rosa Parks was a plant,” stated Kanye West on the Clubhouse app.

Those statements from Ye came after his infamous provocative comments claiming enslaved Africans in America essentially chose to be slaves. He also promoted “White Lives Matter” shirts and wrongly suggested that George Floyd was not murdered by a police officer.

Boosie Believes Kanye West Hates Black People

Boosie Badazz got wind of what Kanye West had to say about Rosa Parks. The Baton Rouge-raised rapper slammed Ye on Twitter. Boosie even offered a solution for how Black people should deal with the controversial Yeezy founder.

“NOW ROSA PARKS!! HE REALLY HATE BLACK PEOPLE WITH A PASSION #Fuckukanye U SICK AF!!” tweeted Boosie on Monday. The 40-year-old rhymer did not stop there. He returned to the platform to share more thoughts on the topic.

Boosie also posted, “ITS A SHAME THIS MAN IS REALLY TRYIN TO TAKE AWAY ALL BLACK GLORY. #itssad #georgefloyd #slaveryachoice #whitelivesmatter #rosaparks WHO’S NEXT MARTIN LUTHER KING!! BLACKS SHOULD DO THIS MAN LIKE THE JEWS DID HIM!! NOW HE’S COMING FOR BLACK HISTORY 🤷🏾‍♂️.”

Jewish Organizations Slam Ye For His Antisemitic Rhetoric

In addition to discrediting some of the most important civil rights leaders in American history, Kanye West also went on several antisemitic rants over the last several weeks. Ye kicked off his antisemitism by threatening to go “death con 3” on Jewish people.

The public fall from grace continued when Ye began expressing his love for German dictator Adolph Hitler and the Nazi regime. By that point, several of West’s business relationships crumbled as major corporations sought to separate their respective brands from the loose cannon who has been associating with known white nationalists.

Several Jewish organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, condemned Kanye West for his antisemitic rhetoric and Nazi adoration. A watchdog group named StopAntisemitism labeled Ye as the “Antisemite of the Year” for 2022. Even the loss of his billionaire status has not stopped Ye from exposing antisemitic views and denying the Holocaust.

Cardi B Previews New Music, Clears Up Leaked Reference Track Rumors

Cardi B has teased fans with a snippet of new music after an alleged leak of her reference tracks surfaced online.  

The Grammy Award-winning rapper is currently working on her sophomore album but recently revealed anxiety is delaying the project. However, fans are still eager for new music.  

On Monday (Dec. 12), Cardi B gave her followers what they’ve been asking for by sharing a snippet of a new track.  

“HERE some scraps since yall STARVING,” Cardi tweeted alongside the clip.  

The seven-second audio clip sees Belcalis rapping about her haters. “They be watching every time that I post / Posted nothing, always gotta do the most / B###### sound like you broke.” Listen to it below.

While listeners approved of the track, wanting an official release, Cardi B revealed she isn’t a fan of it. “I just don’t love it,” Cardi B replied when asked why she scrapped the track.  

The “Tomorrow 2” rapper shared the new audio after a purported leak of several Cardi B reference tracks. However, according to Cardi, the songs are “horrible,” and she would never rap those “cliché” lyrics. 

“I just feel like these are things that people think that I want or would say,” she penned. “Like party wit Cardi ? That’s so late for me to say is like me saying okruuuuuuu again …..And Jenny from them block sample it’s like cliche & expected…..Nice try tho.” 

While fans have been waiting for more than four years for the follow-up to Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B has been getting busy in the studio. However, it may be some time before the project is released, with the rapper admitting she’s feeling the pressure.  

“I used to love to make music,” Cardi B told her followers during a recent Instagram Live session. But now, making music to me has become a job that gets me anxiety. Because everyone just critique everything that I do. Sometimes you don’t want to do something that makes you feel that much anxiety.” 

Snoop Dogg Says Tupac Gave Him His “Pimp” Persona, Taught Him “How To Be A Star”

Snoop Dogg says he has a lot to thank Tupac for, chalking up his signature “pimp” persona and work ethic to the late Hip-Hop icon.  

During his appearance on The 85 South Comedy Show, the Death Row Records CEO recalled ‘Pac teaching him “how to be a star,” starting with his image.  

Snoop says during his post-Doggystyle era, he was ” dressing like a n#### from the hood,’ and would wear khakis and Chucks.  

“That n#### like, ‘Me and you finna have a meeting. We stepping our game up. We gotta change your look, Snoop Dogg,’” Tupac told him. “’You a pimp, n####. B###### love you. You fly. You gotta start showing your fly side!'”  

“‘I’ma get you suited up.’ ‘I’ma call this n#### Dion Scott, get your suits fitted, get your hair laid, get your nails done. Put some pimpin’ on screen, n####.’”  

However, Snoop Dogg admitted it took him some time to become accustomed to his new look, as worn by him and Tupac in the “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” video in 1996. 

“He dressed me up in suits, Louis Vuitton, Gucci — s### I couldn’t even spell or pronounce! All this Italian s###,” he continued. “Just look at how I’m standing next to cuh when I’m wearing it. I’m trying to figure it out! I’m like, ‘Do I look right? I hope I don’t look sweet ’cause these pants tight as a muthafucka!’’  

Nonetheless, Snoop Dogg says once he “got comfortable” with the look, he understood what Tupac was doing.  

“‘OK, this n####’s teaching me how to be a star,’” he recalled. “Like, levels and layers. ‘We know you gangsta, dawg, but can you go higher than that? What if a n#### call you to be in a movie where they want you to be a lawyer? What if a n#### wants you to be a detective?’”  

Snoop Dogg Credits Tupac With Teaching Him How To Become A Star

Elsewhere in the interview, the Doggfather recalled joining ’Pac in the studio shortly after his release from prison in 1995. It was then he got to see the “Hit Em Up” hitmaker’s work ethic himself.  

“We make a song, we in that muthafucka listening to it for like four hours. Got b###### up in there. N##### like, ‘This s### banging!’” Snoop said. “We got in this n#### room, he on his fifth song. This n#### make a song, as soon as it got off, ‘Pull the next beat up! We ain’t finna be listening to that s###, that’s the engineer’s job to mix that s###. Next song.’”  

According to Snoop Dogg, he learned star quality for Tupac.  

“[He was] not one of them n##### that’s in the studio like, ‘Man, get all these n##### outta here!’ He entertained that s###,” Snoop added. “I wasn’t a star ’til I was next to him; he showed me how to be a star. Kanye West Says He “May Be Slightly Autistic,” Denies He’s Having An Episode

Kanye West has given another bizarre curbside interview in which he claimed he is not bipolar but autistic before ranting about the devil working through China.  

Celebrity gossip outlet X17 caught up with Ye outside the Cornerstone Christian Church in Los Angeles on Sunday (Dec. 11).  

The G.O.O.D. Music founder addressed his comments praising Hitler before admitting he might be “slightly autistic.”  

“Like my dad said: ‘You know, they’re gonna smear your name if you’re associated with Hitler.’ Yeah, obviously! Of course, dad,” Kanye said, his face covered in a black ski mask. “Good idea, thanks a lot.”  

He continued: “The truth is Jesus says love everyone, God says love everyone. For me, I believe that in no way I am not Bipolar, I am not in some kind of episode, but I may be slightly autistic – like ‘Rain Man’, and that’s part of my superpower!” 

According to Kanye West: “That’s the reason why I can produce tracks and design and do so many things but what I can’t do. There’s two things that I can’t do: I can’t accept hate and I can’t hate.” 

Later in the interview, Kanye West said “we need to bring Christ to China,” while spewing more antisemitic tropes.  

“China control y’all,” Ye declared. “China made this phone and controls this phone and controls the people that you’re gonna give this video to. The Jewish people are the middle men, they sold America to China. They sold the American media. There’s reports that we might be in outright war, not just a cyber war, but an outright war with China within the next five years.” 

He continued, “People say our greatest threat is China. Our greatest threat is Satan. At all costs, we need to bring Christ to China. Chinese people are not bad. Every Chinese person in the world didn’t invent the Coronavirus. Every Chinese person didn’t bring Fentanyl over to America. Takeoff Murder Suspect Wants Bails Reduced From $2M To $100K, Vows To Live With Parents

The man accused of shooting Migos rapper Takeoff has asked a judge to reduce his $2 million bail, promising to live with his parents if the court grants his request.  

Patrick Xavier Clark filed a motion in Texas Monday (Dec. 12), TMZ reports, following his arrest by Houston PD on December 2 in connection with the fatal shooting of the 28-year-old rapper.  

Clark 33, charged with murder in connection with Takeoff’s death, has made several requests since his arrest. The latest request for financial assistance concerned his bail, which his attorney claims he cannot afford.  

His motion Monday asked the court to reduce his hefty $2 million bail to $100k so that he can remain free while he awaits trial. According to Clark, if granted, he can pay £100k with the help of a bail bondsman.  

Clark Promises To Return To His Parents Home While Awaiting Trial

Furthermore, Clark made promises should the court grant his motion. If granted bail, releasing him from state custody, he will return home to live with his parents. The suspect allegedly lived with his parents before his arrest.  

He also promised to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon his release and to abide by any curfew set by the court. In addition, Clark will surrender his passport and comply with any “no-contact” order the judge sees fit to set.  

Last week, as reported by AllHipHop.com, Clark asked the court for financial assistance to cover the costs of a private investigator. He filed a motion requesting $5,000 for a P.I. to prepare his defense for trial.  

Clark claimed he was unable to cover the costs himself and had already exhausted his family’s finances to cover his attorney’s “substantially reduced” fees. He claims the P.I. agreed to work for him at a reduced rate of $85 per hour.  

Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston Bowling alley on November 1, after attending a dice game. He was only 28 years old. 

Janet Jackson And Ludacris Hitting The Road For “Together Again” Tour

Janet Jackson is heading back out on tour.

Taking to Instagram, the superstar announced that pre-sale tickets for her “Together Again” trek of North America will go on sale on Tuesday morning.

“I’m going back on tour, and, yes, we will be together again,” she said. “I miss you guys so much and I cannot wait to see you.”

Janet also revealed that Ludacris will serve as her opening act for all 33 dates and that she has been working on some new tracks.

However, she didn’t divulge any further details. “There will be new music,” the 56-year-old promised.

General tickets will go on sale on Friday.

“The Together Again” tour will kick off on April 14th at the Hard Rock Live Arena in Florida and wrap up at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on June 21st.

Janet last went on tour in 2019 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her fourth studio album, 1989’s Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.

Taylor Swift Defeats Hip-Hop Producers In “Shake It Off” Battle

A copyright infringement lawsuit relating to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off has been dismissed.

Back in September 2017, songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler launched legal action against the popstar, alleging the hit track copies the chorus of their 2001 song “Playas Gon’ Play,” – which they penned for girl group 3LW.

However, Swift repeatedly denied the accusations, arguing that similar phrases in both songs – “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” – were both common and popular.

After the lawsuit rumbled on for over five years, Hall and Butler reached an agreement with Swift’s lawyers on Monday in which they agreed to “(dismiss) this action in its entirety.”

A trial had been set to begin in January. According to editors at Variety, terms of the settlement remain “unclear,” with no details on financial aspects available.

A representative for Swift has not yet commented on the decision.

In August, the 32-year-old made a sworn declaration to the judge in the case in which she maintained that she had never heard Playas Gon’ Play before.

“The lyrics to ‘Shake It Off’ were written entirely by me,” she asserted. “Until learning about Plaintiffs’ claim in 2017, I had never heard the song ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ and had never heard of that song or the group 3LW.”

Young Thug Hit With More Charges While Awaiting RICO Trial

Prosecutors filed three misdemeanor charges against Young Thug, who awaits trial in a racketeering case.

According to WSB-TV, Young Thug was charged with street racing, reckless driving and speeding. He allegedly drove at 120 mph on Interstate 85 in May.

Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel was dismayed by the charges. Steel maintained his client’s innocence.

“As of two weeks ago, that case was being resolved with a seatbelt violation,” Steel told WSB-TV. “Today, now its indicted in the Fulton County Superior Court. He is being wronged by our system.”

Young Thug was indicted for conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act and participation in a criminal street gang in May. Prosecutors added six felony charges in August.

Gunna and more than two dozen YSL members were also indicted for racketeering. Prosecutors claim Young Thug’s YSL Records served as the front for a dangerous street gang.

The YSL RICO trial will begin in January. Prosecutors asked a judge to ban video recordings from the trial, citing concerns for witness safety. The prosecution raised no objections to audio recordings.

“Permitting an audio recording while prohibiting video recording will protect the safety of witnesses and other associated parties while still recognizing and supporting this State’s policy favoring open judicial proceedings,” prosecutors argued.

Well, it looks like some of the details that were previously unknown around noon. First of all, let’s keep it a book. Megan Thee Stallion lied to all of us. She said in an interview with Gayle King that she did not sleep with Tory Lanez. Even then, we knew it was a lie. However, we just figured that’s what she was going with. However, in a legal sense, you can’t lie so readily. The courts will eat you up and charge you with perjury if you lie on the stand.

People are basically calling Megan a heaux!

Anyway, both Tory and the best friend had gun residue on their hands and that is really the most important piece of information that has come out of the trial. Megan swears that Torri shot her and that she saw him shoot her. That seems to be clear and cut and that has not changed.

By the way, thousands of people gathered around the quart room in support of Megan thee stallion. Several advocacy groups have joined forces to not only support her, but also to chide anyone in support of these various supporters of Tory.  

Apparently, Kylie Jenner let Megan know she had to leave her home, which is where the whole thing happened, because she was acting too out of pocket. Anyway, this is all getting very spooky!

Ticketmaster Faces Trouble In Mexico Over Bad Bunny Ticket Debacle

Ticketmaster is under fire for allegedly overselling tickets to a Bad Bunny show in Mexico.

According to multiple reports, the Office of the Federal Prosecutor for the Consumer (PROFECO) in Mexico started an investigation after hundreds of fans were denied entry to Bad Bunny’s concert. PROFECO’s Ricardo Sheffield said Ticketmaster will pay a fine and may be hit with a lawsuit.

“They are going to have to pay it and additionally they are going to be fined,” Sheffield told Radio Formula. “And the proportion of the fine is to be determined the following week. It is a very serious situation, quite delicate.”

Ticketmaster denied overselling tickets to the Bad Bunny concert. The company blamed the show’s issues on an influx of counterfeit tickets..

“As has been reported, on Friday an unprecedented number of fake tickets were presented at the entrance of [Estadio Azteca], purchased outside our official channels,” Ticketmaster said. “In addition to causing confusion among entrance officials, this situation generated a malfunction in our system, which for moments at a time, couldn’t properly identify legitimate tickets. It’s important to underscore that there was no oversale of tickets.”

Sheffield raised doubts about Ticketmaster’s explanation. He suggested the company was trying to make an excuse for its own mishaps.

“Ticketmaster claimed they were counterfeit, but they were all issued by them,” Sheffield said in a radio interview.

Bad Bunny fans experienced trouble a month after Ticketmaster botched the rollout of Taylor Swift concert tickets. The company canceled the public sale for her shows due to overwhelming presale demand, resulting in fans filing a lawsuit and the Justice Department launching an investigation.
