Stefflon Don Wants To Fight Jada Kingdom Over New Diss: Denies Sleeping With Uncle, Sacrificing Father

Stefflon Don has had enough of lyrical warfare with Jada Kingdom, and she’s ready to lay hands on the Jamaican artist, claiming she lied about everything in her latest diss track.

On Wednesday night (January 10), after days of sparring online and trading jabs in songs, Jada Kingdom clapped back with another explosive diss track titled “Steff Lazurus,” claiming the British rapper refuses to stay dead. She posted a snippet on social media with the caption, “No lies told!!”

In the song, Jada Kingdom claims Stefflon Don sacrificed her brother, U.K. rapper Dutchavelli, but says she should have sacrificed her father too.

The “What’s Poppin” hitmaker took to her Instagram Stories to reply. She said she regrets the back and forth and now just wants to put hands on her rival.

Referring to Jada Kingdom as “Twinki,” Stefflon Don says she “can’t respect” her last song was nothing but lies. She then urged her to “spend some time with your new man,” Pardison Fontaine. “Jesus he must be so sick and tired of you now,” she said.

She then addressed Kingdom’s “made up stories,” including that she sacrificed her father and slept with her uncle. According to Steff, a quick search online would have dispelled another myth that she had a baby when she was 15 years old. She accused Kingdom of “playing a dangerous game,” before telling her to square up.

“Sleep with my uncle ?? Sacrificing my dad ??? What kind of lies,” Steff added. “Honestly do you feel good saying that knowing ur talking crap.

“Just come fight me and done cuz ur sick for making up s### like that for some likes,” Steff continued. Its seriously not even funny You can shame me with the truth any day but I got a son that would hear these lies And im not with it.”

However, Kingdom replied on her IG Stories, insisting she fact-checked all her claims. She told Steff to “clean up yur messy circle,” saying she got a lot of support from her supposed friends. Kingdom ignored the fight challenge but said she’ll stop with Stefflon Don does.

Rubi Rose Credits DDG For Launching OnlyFans Career, Happy For His Newborn

Rubi Rose has made peace with her ex-boyfriend DDG and is even opening up about their previous relationship dynamic.

In a recent podcast interview, Rose spoke briefly about her time dating DDG and appeared to be fully supportive of his new path in life with partner Halle Bailey. However, in the process of congratulating her former beau on his newborn baby, Halo, she revealed DDG was actually the one who nudged her to start her OnlyFans career. Bro was really practicing being a “daddy” before actually being one.

“I started OnlyFans in 2020 during COVID, during the pandemic,” she said in part. “My ex did it, DDG he started it first—and he told me to do it.”

Rose went on to explain she has no hard feelings toward DDG and is happy for him as he enters into fatherhood, which he’s apparently been anticipating.

“I love children and he’s been wanting a child so congratulations to him,” she said.

It’s no wonder Rose was as chill as a cucumber when asked about DDG because at the end of the day, he helped her get a bag. She literally has OF fans spending upward of $90,000 on the platform with her.

Jonathan Majors Clarifies Coretta Scott King Comments Following Backlash

Jonathan Majors responded to criticism of his apparent obsession with Coretta Scott King on Wednesday (January 10). The former Marvel star attempted to clear up his repeated references to the civil rights activist following public backlash and comments by her daughter Bernice King.

“My intention was to convey my utmost respect for Coretta Scott King, her achievements, and both her personal legacy and the one she shares with her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King,” Jonathan Majors told TMZ.

He added, “[Coretta] is a great woman, a very important figure in American and world history, and someone both Meagan [Good] and I are inspired by and deeply admire.”

A New York jury found Majors guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in his 2023 trial. Jurors heard a recording of him demanding his ex-girlfriend act like Scott King and Michelle Obama.

Majors spoke out for the first since his conviction in an ABC News interview, which premiered on Monday (January 8). Majors denied injuring his ex-girlfriend and tried to explain why he wanted her to be like Scott King.

“It was me trying to give an analogy of what it is I’m aspiring to be, these great men – Martin [Luther King], President Obama – and trying to give a reference point to that,” he said. “One of the things I also say is I need her – in that case, Grace – to make the same sacrifices that I’ve made.”

Majors mentioned Scott King again while discussing his current girlfriend Meagan Good.

“She’s an angel,” Majors told ABC News. “She’s held me down like a Coretta. I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh, but I think I found her.”

Majors faced ridicule for his fixation on Scott King. Her daughter Bernice reacted to his remarks via X (formerly known as Twitter).

“My mother wasn’t a prop,” she wrote. “She was a peace advocate before she met my father and was instrumental in him speaking out against the Vietnam War. Please understand…my mama was a force.”

King encouraged her followers to read a story she wrote about her mother in 2017. Read it here.

Zoom Bomber Yells “Free Young Thug” During YSL RICO Trial

A Zoom bomber interrupted Young Thug’s slow-moving RICO trial in Georgia on Wednesday (January 10). The unidentified crasher seized an opportunity to shout support for the embattled rapper after Judge Ural Glanville called for a recess.

“Free Thug!” the person yelled. “Mistrial! Free Thug! Mistrial!”

A mistrial could complicate what’s already been a tedious effort to try Young Thug and other YSL members on RICO charges. It took 10 months just to seat a jury for the trial, which began in November 2023. If Judge Glanville declared a mistrial, the entire process would start all over again.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, is one of six defendants on trial in the YSL RICO case. The trial is expected to take months.

Judge Glanville quickly dismissed a juror within the first two weeks of the trial. The juror was excused after she was admitted to a hospital. Judge Glanville decided to move on without her to avoid delaying the trial.

Another disruption occurred when one of Young Thug’s co-defendants got stabbed in December 2023. Shannon Stillwell was unable to appear in court following the jailhouse stabbing. Stillwell’s absence forced Judge Glanville to send jurors early for their holiday break.

The trial resumed on January 2, 2024. Judge Glanville delayed the proceedings again due to an attorney’s illness on Tuesday (January 9). Testimony continued on Wednesday (January 10).

Young Thug’s former co-defendant Trontavious Stephens returned to the stand on Wednesday. Stephens, who testified over several days in the trial, accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case. He suggested his crimes were the reason YSL got labeled as a gang.

“I committed crimes while being a part of YSL, so by me committing crimes while being a part of YSL, that was [the] basis to say that YSL was a gang,” Stephens testified.

Young Thug and his co-defendants pleaded not guilty to RICO charges. Young Thug remains in jail without bond.

Dame Dash Claims He Made Just $5K In 2022 As He Clamors For Lower Child Support Payments

Dame Dash—one of Hip-Hop’s most successful executives—claims he made less than $6,000 in 2022. According to TMZ, the Roc-A-Fella Records’ co-founder is asking a judge to lower his monthly child support payments, saying he isn’t financially able to continue paying $3,000 a month. In fact, court docs show he claimed he can only commit to $428 per month. Dash said he hasn’t been making much money lately due to several struggling business ventures.

Dash said he only pulled in $5,140 for the entirety of 2022 and explained his income never bounced back from the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. But Dash’s ex and mother of the child he’s supporting, Rachel Roy, begs to differ. In a separate filing, she argued the music mogul is hiding other revenue streams and still has a significant stake in Roc-A-Fella.

Roc-A-Fella Records was founded by Dash, Kareem “Biggs” Burke and JAY-Z in 1995 under the Def Jam Recordings umbrella. The label pumped out a collection of iconic albums, including JAY-Z’s The Blueprint, Kanye West’s The College Dropout and Memphis Bleek’s The Coming Of Age. Roc-A-Fella ultimately crumbled due to rumored friction between JAY-Z and Dash.

In a 2021 interview with the Social Proof Podcast, Dash claimed JAY-Z’s real issues were with Burke—not him.

“The reason Roc-A-Fella Records broke up in the first place was ’cause he didn’t want to break bread with Biggs no more,” Dash said at the time. “I was like, ‘Yo, we could start something different,’ but I can’t do that to Biggs. He didn’t want Biggs to be a part of it anymore. That’s what happened. They weren’t speaking for like two years and no one knew, though. I don’t know why they would want to devalue my third—I don’t get it.”

JAY-Z and Roc-A-Fella sued Dash in June 2021 for allegedly trying to auction off JAY-Z’s 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt, in a non-fungible token (NFT) form. The auction never took place, but Dash was accused of “frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale” in an effort to collected what he said he’s owed. Dash fired back and claimed the lawsuit was “full of inaccuracies,” pointing out it’s not just Reasonable Doubt he’s trying to sell. Rather, it’s his entire one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, a stake he apparently still owns.

Kanye West Sued For Allegedly Punching Autograph-Seeking Fan

Kanye West is being sued for allegedly punching a fan. According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Justin Poplawski and wife Tiffany Marshall have filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Court for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and loss of consortium. They say West punched Poplawski after he asked for an autograph. The alleged incident occurred in downtown L.A. in January 2022 after Poplawski, who has described himself as a “well-respected autograph dealer,” asked West for his signature.

In the suit, Poplawski claims West yelled, “Go the f### (out of) here before I beat the f### out of you. I’m going to make a f###ing example of you.” The autograph seeker added West mentioned his “f###ng divorce” from his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, then punched him several times “severely injuring him.” Poplawski added that he and his wife were “lawfully standing on public property” during the whole ordeal.

Marshall, meanwhile, is suing the 46-year-old rapper for “loss of consortium.” Shortly after the incident occurred, a video of Poplawski lying on the ground while West shouted appeared on social media. Police investigated the incident, but decided not to press charges against West. As the L.A. City Attorney’s Office explained at the time, “After a thorough and careful review of all the evidence, our office is declining to file based on no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”

Kevin Hart’s Ex-Wife Denies Katt Williams Booked Her On Tour For Trolling Purposes

Comedian Torrei Hart attempted to downplay her involvement in Katt Williams’ feud with her ex-husband Kevin Hart. Torrei insisted Katt did not book her for his tour to antagonize Kevin when TMZ cameras up with her on the street.

“Why would he do that?” she said. “Me and Katt are friends. We go back like 20 years. We’ve been friends [for] 20 years. We’re so close to the point that Katt has babysat my dog. I had a pit bull and Katt babysat my pit bull. Suge Knight was—I mean like no, we go way back to where I’m telling you we have history.”

Torrei announced she was joining Katt on tour after his Club Shay Shay interview went viral. Katt lambasted various celebrities, including Torrei’s ex-husband. Katt claimed Kevin was an industry plant, attempting to delegitimize Kevin’s success.

Kevin initially responded on X (formerly known as Twitter), using it as an opportunity to promote his latest movie.

“Gotta get that anger up outcha champ,” he wrote. “It’s honestly sad. In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film LIFT.”

Kevin brushed off Katt’s industry plant allegations in an interview with FOX 5 DC. The comedian hoped fans would look into the true story behind his rise to fame, but he realized there was nothing he could do about the people who doubted his credentials.

“You don’t entertain a circus, you watch it” Kevin said. “When the lion comes out and rides the bike, you don’t think about it too hard. You just go, ‘OK, that’s crazy. A lion is riding a bike.’ And you go home and enjoy the rest of your day. I don’t feed into the stuff at all at the end of the day. It’s all entertainment to a certain degree. So, you just hope people can be smart enough and have a tremendous amount of logic to just go and possibly do research or fact-check.”

The new Kevin Hart movie Lift is scheduled to hit Netflix on Friday (January 12). The film was directed by F. Gary Gray, the director of Straight Outta Compton.

50 Cent Cites Mary J. Blige’s STARZ Pay As He Doubles Down On Taraji P. Henson Offer

50 Cent reaffirmed his interest in working with Taraji P. Henson after the actress voiced her frustrations with being underpaid. 50 Cent boasted about Mary J. Blige’s pay for his STARZ show Power Book II: Ghost as he touted his ability to help Henson in an Instagram post.

“Someone called me today thinking I was bullsh!ting about working with @tarajiphenson till I told them what I made STARZ pay @therealmaryjblige to be on GHOST,” he wrote. “I ain’t out here fvcking around.”

50 Cent recruited Blige to play Monet Tejada in Power Book II: Ghost, which premiered in 2020. According to Variety, Blige made $400,000 per episode.

Henson publicly discussed her lack of fair compensation in Hollywood during the press tour for The Color Purple. She broke down in tears during a conversation with Gayle King on SiriusXM.

“I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, getting paid a fraction of the cost,” Henson told King. “I’m tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ I have to. The math ain’t mathing. And when you start working a lot, you have a team. Big bills come with what we do. We don’t do this alone. It’s a whole entire team behind us. They have to get paid.”

In a separate interview, Henson revealed she fired her entire team after they failed to capitalize on her successful run on FOX’s Empire. 50 Cent reacted to her comments by offering to work with her.

“They dropped the ball f### em @tarajiphenson,” 50 Cent wrote on social media in December 2023. “I’m ready to work let’s get it!”

50 Cent produces BMF and the Power franchise, opening the door for Henson to possibly join the cast of a hit TV show. He also has several projects in development and secured a production facility for G-Unit Studios.

Westside Gunn Roasts Troll Who Says He’s Only Grammy-Nominated Because Of Kanye West

Westside Gunn evidently had some extra time this week to roast a troll who tried to diminish his career. On Tuesday (January 9), a Twitter troll accused Gunn of being the weak link on Travis Scott’s UTOPIA album, writing, “@WESTSIDEGUNN ruined one of the best tracks on UTOPIA with his annoying high pitched voice.. LOST FOREVER had the potential to be the best track on there,” which caught the Griselda Records founder’s attention. He replied with a lyrics from the track and ” these type of comments is bullying it makes me sad I’m crying my fly pretty a## all the way to the Grammy.”

The troll was undeterred and fired back with, “This gonna be ur first/last grammy nomination mark my words brother. make the most of it while u can.” Gunn, also ready to spar, pointed out he already had more than one Grammy nomination: “Hold on let me wipe these tears, ummm lil buddy this my 5th nomination. u the only person hated this year and booooy u failed miserably hahahahah GOD IS THE GREATEST.”

From there, the person insisted he was only Grammy-nominated due to his work on Kanye West’s Donda album. He continued, “5 nominations? as i mentioned only 1 nomination for your music and the other for Ye. dont fool yourself, as i said enjoy ur 5 min of fame before the fall. Go back to this tweet one year from now and mark my words. Goodluck tho no hate just stating facts.”

Gunn, laughing it off, laid out what exactly the noms were for.

“Hahahahahahahaha u still ready,” he began. “1. Freenationals album. 2. Royce the 5’9 album. 3. Donda. 4. Mary j album. 5. Travis album. I never wanted to be the best rapper buddy I’m the illest curator & owner of Griselda records I make ART idc even about the accolades I’m a live forever.”

The back-and-forth appeared to end after a fan tweeted to Westside Gunn, “5 min of fame lasting 15 years,” a sentiment the Buffalo native promptly tweeted with a series of laughing emojis.

Westside Gunn has been churning out projects for years, including Pray for Paris and Who Made The Sunshine. In a February 2023 interview with High Times, he joked he never really wanted to be a rapper—but can’t help it.

“I still don’t want to rap,” he said at the time. “But the thing about it is, every year I give ‘em another classic. That’s me not wanting to rap.” Find the song in question below.

Was Playboi Carti’s Tour Postponed Because He’s In Jail In Romania?

Playboi Carti fans will have to wait until further notice for an update on his Antagonist Tour—and apparently a confirmation on whether he’s a free man.

On Twitter (X) earlier this week, unconfirmed rumors began to swirl that Carti had been arrested in Romania. While there’s been no official word yet on Carti’s status, ticket holders for his upcoming tour began receiving emails breaking the news that the tour had been postponed. Every date in the set has also been marked as “TBD (to be determined)” at this point as well. Coincidentally, the same day the unsubstantiated rumors broke, footage from Playboi Carti’s 2022 arrest also surfaced and began taking over social media.

Several fans have pointed out that some of the initial reports of Playboi Carti’s Romania arrest surfaced from spoof pages and have also suggested that it’s all a reference to Travis Scott’s UTOPIA song “TIL FURTHER NOTICE.” The tour postponement appears to be real though.

If you’ll recall, Playboi Carti already postponed the tour last September, just before it was set to kick off in Denver. And now, once again, just days from a scheduled date in Dublin, news of the postponement rolls in. As a result, fans are worried we won’t received the follow-up to his 2020 Whole Lotta Red album this year either despite recent releases such as “backr00ms” featuring Scott.

Benny The Butcher Fires Back At Online “Nerds” Over Def Jam Comments

Benny The Butcher plans to release his Everybody Can’t Go album on January 26 via Def Jam Recordings. His 2022 comments about the forthcoming project became a topic on social media this week.

An X account shared an old quote from Benny The Butcher on the platform. Back in October 2022, Benny tweeted, “Imma have the best Hip Hop @defjam album since [DMX’s] It’s Dark & Hell is Hot.”

As that statement once again made the rounds on the internet, Benny decided to address anyone who took issue with what he had to say. The Buffalo native specifically called out media outlets and online fans.

“When blogs post s### like this they be tryna get a reaction outta y’all and y’all take they bait cuz y’all love to banter on this app,” Benny The Butcher posted on Tuesday (January 9).

The 39-year-old MC continued, “I was speaking on creating a missing feelin in the Def Jam building [violin emoji]. Can’t wait to drop my s### on you nerds who gonna hate either way. THE [kitchen knife emoji] COMIN.”

Everybody Can’t Go will join a Benny The Butcher solo discography that already contains four other studio LPs. His debut album, Tana Talk 3, dropped in 2018. He followed that project with 2020’s Burden of Proof.

Two years later, Benny returned with Tana Talk 4. His catalog also comprises of numerous EPs, mixtapes, and collaborative albums. For example, Griselda’s WWCD group effort came out in 2019.

Benny The Butcher’s Everybody Can’t Go will host “Big Dog” with Lil Wayne. The Black Soprano Family leader also linked up with Stove God Cooks for “One Foot In.” Both songs have official music videos.

Additionally, Benny presented the first episode of his Everybody Can’t Go mini-documentary on January 5. The seven-minute video shows some of the New Yorker’s behind-the-scenes moments.

J.I.D Reflects On “Surround Sound” Going Viral, Performs On “Tonight Show” [VIDEO]

J.I.D made appearances on two major broadcast networks this week. The Dreamville Records artist did an interview with ABC anchor Linsey Davis and he performed on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Davis spoke to J.I.D for an episode of ABC News Live Prime. The conversation centered around the rapper’s viral hit “Surround Sound,” which sparked the #CeilingChallenge on social media.

“The initial drop of [‘Surround Sound’] did really well,” he explained. “I maybe dropped it six, seven months before the album actually came out. So by the time the album came out, the song was already gold.”

“Then with time going I saw online the trend that could’ve come from the actual video that we just showed. It was an overhead shot which turned out to be the challenge. A lot of different challenges came from it. But the over the head, ceiling [shot] was the most important one.”

“Surround Sound” featuring fellow Atlanta natives 21 Savage and Baby Tate lives on 2022’s The Forever Story album. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the collaboration as platinum in June 2023.

Last year, J.I.D announced his Forever & A Day studio LP. He also teased joint projects with Lil Yachty and Metro Boomin. The Spillage Village collective member kicked off 2024 by dropping the “30 (Freestyle)” track.

In addition to conversing with Davis, J.I.D. stopped by NBC Studios on Tuesday (January 9). The latest edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon included a performance of “Surround Sound” with a live band.

Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, Kodak Black & More Tapped For “Book Of Clarence” Soundtrack

The Book of Clarence will arrive in theaters on Friday (January 12). A soundtrack for the movie hosts tracks with music legends such as Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

Roc Nation presented the official tracklist for the upcoming album. Director Jeymes Samuel (The Harder They Fall) oversaw the body of work and appears as a lead artist on all 11 tracks.

In addition, Lil Wayne, Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks joined Jeymes Samuel for the “Hallelujah Heaven” single. Plus, Samuel, Jay-Z and D’Angelo collaborated on a song titled “I Want You Forever.”

“There was never a question as to whether I would compose the score and write and perform on the soundtrack, as well as write and direct the movie,” Jeymes Samuel told Billboard. “It was all one amazing journey where one depended on the other.”

The British singer/filmmaker continued, “But I also worked with the most awesome artists on our track ‘Hallelujah Heaven.’ Collaborating with Lil Wayne, Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks was so dope; I loved getting them all on the same track.”

The Book of Clarence Tracklist

The Book of Clarence soundtrack also features Jorge Ben Jor, Adekunle Gold, Jorja Smith, and Alice Smith. Hip-Hop stars Kid Cudi, Doja Cat and Kodak Black make appearances as well.

Bernice King Responds To Jonathan Majors Constantly Talking About Her Mother Coretta Scott King

Jonathan Majors trended on social media this week following his sitdown with ABC News journalist Linsey Davis. The former MCU actor went viral for his comments about Coretta Scott King.

That Good Morning America segment was not the first time Jonathan Majors mentioned the Civil Rights icon. Coretta Scott King’s daughter, Bernice King, seems to have had enough of her mother’s name being brought up by the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star.

“My mother wasn’t a prop. She was a peace advocate before she met my father and was instrumental in him speaking out against the Vietnam War. Please understand… my mama was a force,” Bernice King tweeted on Tuesday (January 9).

Jonathan Majors appeared on ABC to discuss his recent misdemeanor convictions for reckless assault and harassment. The 34-year-old entertainer went on trial in New York following a 2023 domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

During the case, prosecutors played audio of Majors telling Jabbari she needed to behave more like Coretta Scott King and former First Lady Michelle Obama. He also used the interview with Linsey Davis to compare his current girlfriend, Meagan Good, to Martin Luther King Jr.’s wife.

“She’s an angel,” Jonathan Majors told Linsey Davis about Meagan Good. “She’s held me down like a Coretta. I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh, but I think I found her.”

Lil Nas X Blasted By Boxer Ryan Garcia For “Christian Era” Rollout

Lil Nas X has once again angered some religious people. The latest backlash comes as the Georgia-raised rapper continued to promote his upcoming “J Christ” single.

“Y’all mind if I enter my Christian era?” Lil Nas X tweeted on November 29, 2023. That began the rollout for the next phase of the 24-year-old Grammy winner’s career.

Over the last two months, Lil Nas shared several social media posts that depict him as Jesus Christ. One TikTok video shows the controversial performer reenacting the Holy Communion while dressed as the Christian savior.

@lilnasx

♬ J CHRIST OUT NOW – lil nas x

Ryan Garcia took offense to Lil Nas X’s latest online antics. The California-born professional boxer blasted the recording artist in a now-deleted tweet.

“Christian family, where are you???” Ryan Garcia asked on X. “As someone who loves God and is Christian, I find this one of the most disrespectful and disturbing [things] someone can do.”

He then added, “Even if you aren’t Christian, this isn’t okay. I wouldn’t disrespect someone’s belief and I’m hurt and furious at the same time. More so hurt.”

Ryan Garcia’s deleted tweet

Ryan Garcia also called on his internet followers to pray for Lil Nas X. However, the Golden Boy Promotions signee deleted the tweet with that message.

“Although it may enrage Christians, what he is doing, we are called to pray for our adversaries. So lift him up in prayer so he can see what he is actually doing. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Love one another,” Garcia wrote.

Lil Nas X has repeatedly dismissed the blasphemy accusations. On Monday (January 8), the Montero album creator tweeted, “Y’all just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. [Shut the f### up].”

Skepta Scraps “Gas Me Up” Artwork After Facing Criticism For Evoking Holocaust Imagery

Skepta is redesigning the artwork for his upcoming single after the graphic caused controversy for evoking images of The Holocaust.

The grime pioneer shared the cover art via social media on Monday (January 8). The image featured multiple shaved heads viewed from behind. One head bore a tattoo of the words “Gas Me Up,” referencing the song’s title.

However, critics condemned the image, with some drawing comparisons between the shaven-headed men in the artwork and the Jews held in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. Others claimed the song’s title, “Gas Me Up” – which is used colloquially in the U.K. to whip up excitement and encouragement – referenced the gas chambers used in the mass murder of Jews.

Skepta Considers Quitting Over Policing Of His Art

By Wednesday morning, Skepta had scrapped the image and explained the context of the artwork in a candid social media post.

He acknowledged how the artwork could be “deemed offensive” but said it was not “not my intention.”

Skepta added, “I don’t feel like I could continue being the artist you all know and love if my art is policed, I have to quit if I can’t express my art as I see it.”

He also shared some pictures from the mood board he used while crafting his upcoming album Knife & Fork.

In a follow-up post, Skepta explained he “worked hard getting the artwork right for my album rollout.” The U.K. rap legend said he drew inspiration from “parents coming to the UK in the 80’s, Skinhead, Football culture,” and never envisioned the artwork would cause so much offense.

“That was definitely not our plan so I have removed it,” he stated. “I vow to be more mindful going forward.”

While he is yet to share a replacement image, Skepta is still plowing ahead with the single release. “Gas Me Up (DILIGENT) will be out January 26th as planned,” he added.

Kevin Hart Reacts To Ex-Wife Torrei Hart Announcing Tour With Katt Williams

Kevin Hart is sharing his thoughts about his ex-wife’s announcement that she’s hitting the road to go on tour with “good friend” Katt Williams despite his comments about Hart during his explosive Club Shay Shay interview.

A TMZ reporter asked Hart to share his thoughts on Williams’ trying to downplay his achievements.

“My success is my success,” he replied before adding, “I want everybody to win. I love everybody.”

When asked about ex-wife Torrei Hart’s revelation that she’s going on tour with Katt Williams, the comic returned a mature response.  “I hope the tour is great,” he stated.

During his viral chat with Shannon Sharpe, Katt Williams branded longtime rival Kevin Hart an industry plant. Hart initially responded with a post urging Williams to “get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad.”

The actor and comedian also addressed the feud during a FOX 5 interview to promote his new movie “Lift. Echoing his remarks about his ex-wife’s upcoming tour, Kevin Hart insisted he’s unbothered by the fuss.

“You don’t entertain a circus, you watch it” Hart said, summarizing his thoughts on the drama. “When the lion comes out and ride the bike, you don’t think about it too hard you just go, ‘ok that’s crazy a lion is riding a bike,’ and you go home and enjoy the rest of your day. I don’t feed into the stuff at all at the end of the day it’s all entertainment to a certain degree.”

Angela Bassett “Humbled” After Receiving Honorary Oscar Three Decades After First Nomination

Angela Bassett is getting her flowers, receiving an honorary Oscar at this year’s Governors Awards.

Presenting the award on Tuesday evening (January 9), Regina King called the beloved actress “a national treasure.”

“She has a perspective and a voice and a beauty that is proudly Black,” King said of the honoree. “But what she embodies at her core is beyond anything that is skin deep. She is artistic excellence, embodied in human form.”

The pair shared a smooch as Angela Bassett, resembling the coveted gold statuette with her glittering gown, collected her Oscar.

Angela Bassett received her first Oscar nomination three decades ago for her performance as Tina Turner in the 1993 biopic, What’s Love Got To Do With It. Her second nod came from her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors showed love to Bassett after she missed out on the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2023 ceremony.

“Hey auntie,” Jordan said while presenting an award later in the night. Majors then added, “we love you.”

Angela Bassett addressed the long wait for Oscars recognition during a red-carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Denny Directo.

“It’s been decades, right? Decades and decades, roles and roles, and blessings upon blessings,” she said.

“[To the] fans who’ve gone to see the movie and support it — I felt the love. I’m getting chills now, but I felt the love all these years. I mean, they have prayed, they have fussed, they have written, they have had my back.”

Angela Bassett called the honorary Oscar “really satisfying,” adding, “I’m humbled.”

Stefflon Don Teases Jada Kingdom Diss With Funeral Flyer: “Come Say Your Last Goodbyes”

Stefflon Don just stepped up her attack in her beef with Jada Kingdom, sharing a flyer for the Jamaican artist’s impending “funeral.”

The British rapper took to Instagram late on Tuesday to announce a second diss track aimed at her rival. She shared an image of Jada Kingdom on a flyer for a “funeral service” scheduled for January 10 on Stefflon Don’s Instagram.

“DEAR DON’S, Friends & Pagans,” she penned in the caption. “IF YOU ARE READY TO ATTEND MISS JADA ASHATI MURPHY’S FUNERAL TONIGHT.”

Steff instructed her followers to leave a coffin emoji, promising to drop it once she receives 100k comments. She ended her caption with “#DeadGyalWalking #RIP,” and followed up in her IG Stories, telling Kingdom to “come say your last goodbyes.”

Stefflon Don And Jada Kingdom Trade Diss Tracks

The feud started earlier this week when Steff fired off a subliminal at Jada Kingdom, seemingly accusing her of sleeping with Burna Burna during their relationship.

Jada Kingdom returned fire, teasing her own freestyle in response. When Steff dropped her “Dat A Dat” diss, Kingdom returned with a scathing track titled “London Bed,” taking aim at the “Hurtin’ Me” hitmaker and dragging her relatives into the beef. She used Burna’s “Talibans II” beat for the track and sampled the Afrobeats superstar, saying he bought Kingdom a Birkin to reward her for her talents in the bedroom.

Kingdom followed up with a post on her Instagram Stories saying she ended the “war.” She also insisted she is in a “happy and healthy relationship,” presumably referring to her romance with Pardison Fontaine.

“I won’t be prolonging this nonsense,” she added. “So let me make this clear!!!!!!!!!! LYW I only responded for my respect and the culture. she’s the only one beefing over a man who I obviously don’t want.”

Jada Kingdom also made it clear she was unbothered by Stefflon Don’s latest offering. She posted a video on her IG story mocking the song’s intro.
