Ice Spice is being dragged by a business owner for allegedly ordering dozens of Nicki Minaj-inspired wigs, only to back out at the last minute without paying a dime.
For context, a talent management rep from Ice Spice’s team has since responded, revealing that Ice Spice reportedly has nothing to do with this transaction. In fact, it was one of her hairstylists that contacted the vendor and didn’t go through with the order in a “timely” manner.
No matter the case, Thee Bella Brand has come forward with some serious claims against the rapper and her team, alleging they engaged in terrible business practices throughout the debacle before abruptly ditching the order. The drama began to unfold when the business owner shared her side of the story on Instagram in a lengthy post revealing a series of events that has left the wig technician allegedly out of thousands of dollars.
“As a business owner, you have to try to turn something into nothing all of the time!” Thee Bella Brand started off in the extensive post caption. “So I was supposed to do Ice Spice’s tour and they sent me a wig order (19) and then they called me again to add more (5) and then when it was time to pay, they didn’t have the budget.”
Despite having worked together for years, this time things took a sour turn, the business owner admitted.
“That was my dumb mistake for thinking since we worked together for years that everything will be OK,” the caption reads. “But unfortunately, I learned my lesson they kept changing the date (4 changes) so she decided to cancel last minute (1 day before the units were ready) after I made a whole bunch of wigs.”
At this point, the business owner recalls how they attempted to resolve the issue in a professional manner, despite the lack of discretion afforded to their business.
“I told her to just take the units, but because we didn’t have time to cut them and color them for her this time around. (She likes the majority of the work to be done for her all of the time). I told her professionally I will never deal with her moving forward,” the caption reads.
But the saga didn’t end there, as the post continued, “They then told me they were going to pay my service fee for making the units to at least be fair.”
After the aforementioned promise was purportedly not honored, the business owner claims the issued a final plea for justice to rectify the situation.
“Things happen, but that is not how you handle someone that respects your business AND ALWAYS comes through for you at the very last minute. LITERALLY!!!!!! Also, you still owe me my wig back because it’s not paid for what’s going on with that??”
The post concluded with a striking note, “You really disappointed me when you asked me to give you the tour units for free? 20k in wigs For no promo at that…… Now, when have you ever known me to do that? Thank you for making us make all of these Nicki Minaj wigs. I’m going to go ahead and not upload the rest of the screenshots since this is supposed to be ‘Princess Diana but it’s really always Queen Onika.’ @dijahslayy DIJAH SLAY!!!”
Nicki Minaj first connected with Ice Spice in 2022 after she praised her breakout hit “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and showed her support on social media. Their admiration for each other blossomed into a collaboration on the remix of Ice Spice’s#### single “Princess Diana,” where they celebrated each other’s artistry and talent. Ice Spice has frequently expressed her admiration for Nicki Minaj, often citing her as a major influence and inspiration in her career.
This is not the first time Ice Spice has made headlines for her alleged shady behavior. In fact, a woman who claims to be the ex-girlfriend of Central Cee has responded to slights she alleges the Y2K! rapper has sent her way following her separation from the “Band For Band” rapper.
U.S. General Services Administration records showed a $85,500 winning bid for 6ix9ine’s Bentley. The Lamborghini went off a much higher price at $175,043.
Auctions for 6ix9ine’s vehicles began on July 8. The Bentley received 16 bids while the Lamborghini had 30 bidders.
Both cars featured custom paint jobs. 6ix9ine added his signature paint-splattered pattern to the luxury vehicles.
The Bentley required repairs. Its new owner will have to deal with shattered side windows and significant damage to the front windshield. The car’s convertible top had several tears. The Lamborghini was in good condition with a little over 49,000 miles on it.
6ix9ine’s cars were seized in April. The government took his rides a few months after he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend in the Dominican Republic.
Authorities apprehended 6ix9ine in January over an incident that allegedly occurred in December 2023. 6ix9ine spent a little over a week in jail before a Dominican judge granted his conditional release. He was ordered to undergo counseling and cooperate with police in their investigation.
6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was previously arrested for assault in the Dominican Republic in 2023. He allegedly attacked two producers, Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García, for spending time with his girlfriend.
The assault cases only scratched the surface of 6ix9ine’s criminal history. He pleaded guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015. He also pleaded guilty to nine felony charges for his role in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods in 2019. 6ix9ine infamously testified against his fellow gang members in exchange for a two-year prison sentence.
Diddy‘s legal woes continue to mount. Eight months after ex Cassie Ventura sued the Bad Boy Records mogul for sexual assault and abuse, causing a cascade of lawsuits to follow, the embattled rapper is being implicated in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
While many have long suspected he’s been involved, Diddy has maintained his innocence. But according to the U.S. Sun, new court documents reveal Diddy is accused of paying $1 million for Shakur’s assassination by suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who was arrested for the murder last year. However, it’s still unknown if Diddy will be subpoenaed or indicted as part of the case.
In papers filed on Thursday (July 18), Diddy is named 77 times by his various pseudonyms: Puffy, Puff Daddy, Puff and his government name, Sean Combs. He’s first mentioned as prosecutors explained the “deadly rivalry” that existed between Bad Boy Records on the East Coast and Death Row Records on the West Coast, headed up by Marion “Suge” Knight, prior to Shakur’s shooting.
The docs allege that after the shooting, Davis flew to New York with a Los Angeles police task force to go undercover in an effort to gather incriminating evidence against Diddy and Eric “Zip” Martin over the murder.
“Task Force Detectives believed they had jurisdiction to investigate a Nevada homicide because Defendant asserted that the conspiracy to commit the murder began in California between Defendant, Eric ‘Zip’ Martin, and Sean Combs,” the docs read in part. “Defendant [Keefe] has asserted publicly that he only told on himself and wasn’t trying to provide evidence against anyone else in his conversations with police. However, this statement belies this claim, as he suggested that Sean Combs paid Eric Von Martin a million dollars for the killings.”
In one of the transcripts, Davis reportedly alleges he and some of the South Side Crips were “friends” with Diddy, who wanted Knight and Shakur dead. He also claims the Crips drove by Shakur and Knight in Las Vegas after a Mike Tyson fight “accidentally” and his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, shot at them both.
Police asked Davis, “Puffy Combs….Does he play a role in this thing?…” and Davis replied, “Yeah, I think he did.” Davis said Diddy told him and a group of about 45 people how he “would give anything” for Knight’s “head” because he was “scared” of him and also had a problem with Shakur after he had released a diss track about him.
In the same transcript, Davis says Diddy was discussed the night of the shooting, with Davis saying, “I knew we was like damn, we can get paid now.”
Police asked, “When you said paid, paid by Puffy, right?” to which Davis replied, “Yeah,” according to the court documents. Davis concluded, “I wish I never met Puff Daddy, period. I swear to God…He messed up my life, man. I was, I was rich, up under the radar, all that, man…it’s all gone.”
Prosecutors filed the docs in a bid to oppose Davis’ latest bail request. His $112,500 bail bond was rejected last month over concerns about the source of the money—Wack 100— and whether he and Davis are attempting to sell his life story to TV producers.
Duane “Keefe D” Davis condemned prosecutors in the Tupac Shakur murder case at a court hearing in Nevada on Tuesday (July 23). Davis, who awaits trial for his alleged role in Tupac’s 1996 death, claimed the prosecution was using tainted evidence from The Notorious B.I.G. murder investigation.
Prosecutors claimed they obtained new evidence proving Davis was in Las Vegas when Tupac got shot. Corey Edwards, a witness pursued by Detective Greg Kading in the Biggie investigation, claimed he saw Davis in Las Vegas on the night of Tupac’s murder in a 2006 statement to police. Davis objected to the evidence.
“Greg Kading had them boxes at his house for 15 years in his attic doing all kinds of TV interviews,” Davis said. “Them boxes should not be allowed. Them boxes should be allowed. It’s tainted evidence, everything. The man, he broke a proffer agreement and he broke the law, all kinds of stuff.”
Judge Carli Kierny told Davis the prosecution didn’t think they would use anything from the boxes in his trial. Davis was enraged. He verbally attacked prosecutors Binu Palal and Marc DiGiacomo, pointing at both men in court.
“They just used something in them boxes!” Davis said. “They just used something in them boxes! From 1996. They know that they did it. They’re not only ugly on the outside, but they’re ugly on the inside … These two dudes right here.”
Davis was back in court on Tuesday trying to convince Judge Kierny to let him post bail after she denied his release in June. Wack 100 attempted to post bail for Davis, but the judge was concerned about the source of the money.
Judge Kierny wanted to make sure the money didn’t come from Davis profiting off his alleged involvement in Tupac’s murder. Davis isn’t allowed to receive compensation for his connection to the case. His lawyer Carl Arnold argued against the restriction at Tuesday’s hearing.
“This whole order that prevents him from being able to collect money, like I said, it’s an infringement on his right of freedom of speech,” Arnold said.
Arnold filed a motion for reconsideration on July 8. Judge Kierny didn’t rule on the motion at the hearing, opting to issue a written decision after reviewing arguments.
Fabolous was treated to a roast session, similar to the one that Meek Mill pushed back on earlier this year, courtesy of social media users, following his appearance at the WNBA All-Star game.
In case you missed it, Meek shared a photo of himself posted up against an SUV wearing a designer long-sleeved, sheer, mesh shirt in May. Fans ripped him for wearing a sheer shirt, mocking him in the comment section.
Though Meek appeared unfazed by the backlash, reacting on his Instagram Stories in a post he wrote, “The propaganda don’t even want me wearing Rick lol,” he eventually deleted the photo.
While Fabolous hasn’t had to experience the sort of homophobic slights in the form of jokes and rumors Meek has dealt with following the allegations made against him in Lil Rod’s sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy, social media users were quick to react to the fit with their harsh criticism.
‘This n#### acting like a IG baddie all posing in tha mirror n s###,” one Twitter (X) user wrote in a thread featuring the video Fabolous posted of the outfit.
“Doubling up on a beater and then going with the Jamaican beater is sick,” another user remarked while yet another user simply added, “Pause.”
In another sly remark, a user referenced Fabolous’ infamous scuffle with Ray Jay, which occurred in Las Vegas in 2011, writing, “Ray J curse real,” in a blunt and brief tweet. Another user reacted to the outfit but writing, “F##k he got on.”
It’s worth noting that the “You Be Killin Em” lyricist referenced the immense natural heat in Pheonix in the initial video he shared in the fit, claiming it was “cooking” him as he spent time outdoors amid the All-Star festivities. However, that clearly wasn’t enough for social media users to give him a pass for the unconventional look.
Snoop Dogg added torchbearer to his list of duties for the 2024 Olympics in Paris on Tuesday (July 23). Mathieu Hanotin, the mayor of Saint-Denis, announced the legendary rapper will carry the Olympic torch in the final stretch of its journey across France.
“U gots to do it!!” Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram. “Will u be watchin??”
Snoop Dogg’s torchbearer role is just the beginning of his work in Paris. NBCUniversal hired him as a special correspondent for NBC and Peacock’s Olympic coverage.
“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris,” he said. “It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness. We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition and may the best shine like gold.”
NBCUniversal recruited Snoop Dogg for the 2024 Olympics based on his well-received commentary from the Tokyo Olympics. The Doggfather famously commentated on the dressage competition for the streaming service Peacock.
Snoop Dogg will contribute regular reports to NBC’s Primetime in Paris show throughout the 2024 Olympics. Coverage begins on Friday (July 26).
“We don’t know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know he will add his unique perspective to our re-imagined Olympic primetime show,” NBC’s executive producer and president of Olympics production Molly Solomon said.
Snoop Dogg prepared for his correspondent job at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Oregon. Fans got a preview of what to expect during the Olympics when he commentated on the steeplechase race.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow channeled his inner Slim Shady by unveiling a new hairstyle on Tuesday (July 23). The NFL star showed up to training camp with a bleach-blonde buzz cut, prompting fans to crown him the new Slim Shady.
Burrow’s name was the No. 1 trending topic on X (formerly known as Twitter) solely off his new look. The Bengals social media team played up the Eminem comparisons with “Guess who’s back?” captions on X and Instagram posts.
Fans and other social media managers couldn’t resist comparing Burrow to Eminem. Slim Shady, Slim Shiesty (a play on Burrow’s Joe Shiesty nickname) and Joe Shady cracked the Top 25 trending topics on X.
Eminem’s Slim Shady persona garnered renewed attention thanks to the release of The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). Eminem’s latest album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was his 11th No. 1 album of his career.
The Death of Slim Shady ended Taylor Swift’s 12-week run atop the Billboard 200. Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department was one week away from tying a record set by Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life, which spent its first 13 weeks at No. 1 on the chart.
Eminem “killed off” Slim Shady on his new album. Some listeners disputed Slim Shady’s “death” based on their interpretations of the project. Diehard fans proposed alternative ways to listen to the album, but Eminem urged his supporters to listen to The Death of Slim Shady from beginning to end.
“Public service announcement: the ‘death of slim shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense,” he wrote before its release. “Enjoy.”
The Death of Slim Shady featured collaborations with JID, Big Sean, Babytron, Jelly Roll, Skylar Grey, Shady Records artist Ez Mil and more. Eminem produced the album with Dr. Dre, Don Cannon and Fredwreck, among other contributors.
Sonya Massey’s father believes his daughter “feared for her life” when she rebuked Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Graysons before he shot her three times in the head.
On Monday (July 22), Illinois State Police released the harrowing body-cam footage of the killing of Sonya Massey by an Illinois Sheriff’s deputy. The 36-minute video shows white Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy Sean Graysons firing three shots at the 38-year-old Black woman’s head.
Graysons and another officer responded to Massey’s home after she called 911 to report a possible intruder on July 6. The situation escalated rapidly after the officers asked Massey to remove a pot of boiler water from the stove. As they move back, she asks them where they’re going. Grayson replied, “Away from your hot steaming water.”
Massey then states, “Away from my hot steaming water? Oh, I’ll rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” Graysons then threatens, “I’ll f###### shoot you in your f###### face,” and raises his points his gun before Massy ducks, apologizing repeatedly. He screams at her to “drop the pot” before shooting her in the head.
Body cam footage released Monday shows the shocking moments when Sonya Massey was fatally shot in the face by a deputy after she called 911 for help. Violence against Black women MUST STOP! We must demand FULL JUSTICE for Sonya Massey! pic.twitter.com/FlAiuCiSg0
Minutes after shooting Massey dead, Graysons explains the incident to another officer.
“She had boiling water and came at me with boiling water,” he says in the video. “She said she was going to rebuke me in the name of Jesus and came at (me) with boiling water.” He also states, “Yeah I’m good, this f###### b#### is crazy.”
Sean Grayson has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and official misconduct. If convicted of murder, he faces a sentence of 45 years to life. He currently remains in custody without bail. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing the family of Massey.
Sonya Massey’s Father Speaks Out
In an interview with ABC Mornings on Tuesday morning (July 23), Massey’s father, James Wilburn, said law enforcement told them conflicting stories.
“I was never told that it was a deputy involved shooting,” Wilburn explained to Gayle King. “We were under the impression that she was killed by the intruder or some other person from the street or something and they just went in there and found her dead body.”
Wilburn continued, “Then there was a story that this was self-inflicted, a self-inflicted gunshot wound. So I think the coverup started from just right after it happened and thank God for the body camera footage.”
King asked his thoughts on why his daughter told the officer, “I’ll rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” Wilburn replied, “I think that she feared for her life.”
President Biden released a statement following the release of the footage.
“Sonya Massey, a beloved mother, friend, daughter, and young Black woman, should be alive today,” Biden said. “Sonya’s death at the hands of a responding officer reminds us that all too often Black Americans face fears for their safety in ways many of the rest of us do not.”
Sonya’s family deserves justice. I am heartbroken for her children and family as they face this unthinkable and senseless loss.
Jill and I mourn with the rest of the country and our prayers are with Sonya’s family, loved ones, and community during this devastating time.
Does the Hip-Hop generation have a responsibility to the giants who came before them?
This is a question the Black Promoters Collective (BPC) has grappled with for years, honing their focus with laser-like precision over the past year as they managed Frankie Beverly’s final tour. According to CMO A. Troy Brown and Senior Talent Buyer Walter Reeder, Jr., leaders of the promotions company supporting careers of legacy artists across genres and generations, it is not only a responsibility but an honor they take very seriously.
In the case of Frankie Beverly, the silky soul-singing lead for the group Maze, they managed the concert series from its inception at the end of 2023 to the final moment he appeared on the Dell East stage in his hometown of Philadelphia on Saturday, July 6. Luminaries came out to say “Thank you” to the local son who carried Germantown on his back to the far reaches of the world. Sure, Cheryl Parker, the first Black woman to be the mayor of Philadelphia, and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were in the building, but they were not the brightest stars.
That honor belonged to the audience, made up of music lovers from their early 20s to their late 80s, including a group of over 30 women called “Frankie’s Angels” who followed him for over 30 years from state to state. Thousands came out in triple-digit heat to give Beverly his flowers and listen to his numerous hits. “Hits” might not seem adequate to describe songs like “Joy & Pain” and “Before I Let Go.”
For Black people, these songs are anthems. Birthday theme songs. Graduation punctuators. Wedding reception party starters. The soundtrack to the cookout.
For those who have curated, cultivated, and protected Hip-Hop for more than 50 years, his songs were (and continue to be, as sampled, covered, and interpolations of his music keep reintroducing him to new fans) integral to expressing a longing for love and unity in our community. For the moments that his songs are played— the longing is achieved as everyone joins in with gladness.
The rise of Hip-Hop and the rise of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly as a group was parallel.
In 1976, the group was signed to Capitol Records and released their self-titled debut album featuring the classic “Happy Feelings” the next year. 1976 is also the year that Grandmaster Flash would form Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. The late Eddie Cheeba and the great DJ Hollywood were tearing up the New York club scene. The two worlds were not warring but served as a generational dialogue pressed against the backdrop of great music and partying.
DJ Mars, a fan since the first album, offered his thoughts, noting that Frankie Beverly “helped provide the soundtrack to many Hip-Hop artists, including Steady B, K-Solo, Doug E. Fresh, Funky Four + 1, and Big Daddy Kane.”
“A party isn’t a party if the DJ doesn’t play ‘Before I Let Go,’” he added, before saying, “His influence is beyond measurable,” and thanking him for his “contributions to Black music as a whole.”
According to the Atlanta-based DJ, who is the tour and residency DJ for Usher Raymond, had that record not been made, DJs would not have the courage to do old-school sets in the middle of their jams. They turn to “Before I Let Go” to bring everyone to the dance floor regardless of age, as it is a bridge for the parent, the child, the cousin, the grandma, and whomever.
Rocky Bucano, the President and Chairman of the Board of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum agreed, remembering his days as a DJ in the 80s and how important that particular song was to his set.
“When I returned to New York in 1982 and started DJing at Club Leviticus in Manhattan, ‘Before I Let Go’ was the go-to record for DJs like myself. Whenever I needed to get the crowd in an absolute frenzy, I would mix it in,” he recalled from his days as Kool DJ Rock in the Boogie Down Bronx. “The energy in the room would skyrocket, especially during the song’s incredible bridge section. The women loved singing along to the chorus, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.”
The narrative often suggests that the divide is grand and that the rift between age groups is cavernous. Unlike other musical landscapes, those in the rap world don’t hate their parents. The music is not rebellious for rebellion’s sake. It is not anti-older people; it is anti-oppression. It is quite the opposite, and Frankie Beverly’s swan song, carefully produced by BPC in North Philly, was evidence of that.
The audience became a sea of white with men topping their outfits off with his signature dad cap.
Local up-and-comer Seraiah Nicole took the stage first as the first opening act. As much as this 20-something-year-old was the embodiment of grace, invoking her sheroes Lauryn Hill, Mumu Fresh, with a lot of Jilly from Philly, she was also anxious to bless the mic before the icon’s set. Her songs were affirming and powerful, harnessing the rich heritage of Black Lily as she stepped on the mic. The crowd graciously accepted her voice as she tried new songs for them. They also were delighted to hear her transition from singing to rapping— another way to stand on the shoulders of legends but offer it with your spin.
The second performance came from one of the lead singers of Silk, Gary “Baby G” Jenkins. While he did none of his classic songs, he understood that the Philly audience wants to be entertained and with the heat index in the outside amphitheater ranging in the early 100s, he sang and performed until there was a pool of sweat on the stage.
The other main act was The Whispers, the legendary group also birthed out of the 70s, still being held down by its two founding members, twins, Walter and Wallace “Scotty” Scott. And while the “Rock Steady” recording artists tour the house down with ballads like “Chocolate Girl,” “And the Beat Goes On,” “Love is Where You Find It,” “Are You Going My Way,” and more, the people wanted to hear Frankie Beverly, who took the stage well into the night.
The 77-year-old took to the stage in the 10 o’clock hour and performed a masterful set. It should be noted that he did not do it alone. The crowd, at many points, overwhelmed his aged voice, singing the lyrics and belting the chorus in his stead. Even former BET personality Donnie Simpson and the Eagles’ superstar were caught on the jumbotron losing themselves in the nostalgia of those anthems— that Rob Base and EZ Rock sampled… That Beyoncé gripped up and remixed … That Vivian Green made a whole vibe … and so many more have borrowed to make hits.
After his set was over, it was time for BPC to thank Frankie Beverly and his team. They did so by donating $25,000 in scholarships to the Frankie Beverly Foundation to send children to school to learn music.
Returning to the question, “What does Hip-Hop owe to the generation before us?” We owe attention. We owe reverence. We owe them preservation, a vow not to allow the musical legacy that they laid for the masses to enjoy and serve as a return point for Black joy when we get too consumed in our constant pursuit of the bag and street respect.
Rapper and producer Kwame Holland put it best when he said, “Frankie Beverly is in our collective DNA,” and dubbed “Before I Let Go” the “official anthem to bring in summer.”
“Frankie’s music is within us,” he said to AllHipHop.com, reminding fans of it being played in “parents basement parties.” “So, when making Hip-Hop and pulling from our core memories it’s only natural (and right) that we are inspired by his infectious baselines and melodies,” even as the now-retired singer is 30 years his senior.
We owe artists like Frankie Beverly big time, as he is part of the special sauce that goes into Big Momma’s potato salad. He was the only thing that calmed your uncles down while they were about to fight after drinking and playing dominos all night. He was the corporate party jam before the “Wobble” and “Electric Slide.” We owe them a debt of gratitude.
The Ice Spice and Central Cee dating rumors continue to rumble on after the Bronx native appeared to shade the British rapper’s ex-girlfriend with a sub about taking her man.
Earlier this month, Ice Spice and Central Cee sparked dating rumors in the lead-up to the release of their collab, “Did It First.” However, the “Sprinter” hitmaker was dating British social media influencer Madeline Argy.
Argy spoke in a candid series of videos, accusing the duo of crafting an elaborate marketing scheme to promote their cheater’s anthem. However, Argy clarified she wanted no part of any scheme and indicated the ploy led to an actual relationship.
Fans were confused by the drama and were unsure if the collaborators were romantically involved. Nonetheless, their subsequent promo only fanned the flames of the cheating rumors.
Meanwhile, the rumors resurfaced on Monday evening (July 21) after Ice Spice shared a video on TikTok of her doing push-ups. The brief clip was harmless enough, but fans believe she taunted Argy with the caption.
Madeline Argy responded in Ice Spice’s comment section. “WHY,” she questioned.
Furthermore, social media users unearthed a since-deleted TikTok video of Argy doing push-ups. Fans of the influencer claimed Argy posted her first, and Ice Spice uploaded her video to mock her. Ice Spice fans claim she posted first.
Madz posted a tiktok doing pushups n liking a comment that regards to ice spice recent tiktok captioning “mood after taking ha manzzz” pic.twitter.com/lvyv1QzRBW
Argy addressed the cheating speculation in the latest episode of her podcast. “Did he cheat on me?” she asked. “I have no idea. He blindsided me and he betrayed me, that is what I do know.”
She continued, “As far as I am as aware they were a PR stunt. This issue is, I was his girlfriend. So what the f### are you doing not telling me?”
Tupac Shakur murder suspect Keefe D is reportedly considering lucrative offers from TV networks to tell his story as he awaits trial.
Carl Arnold, the attorney representing Duane “Keefe D” Davis, revealed he has also been contacted by companies wishing to showcase his efforts to defend Davis.
“We get approached with that since the inception of the case ever since I got on board,” Arnold explained to The U.S. Sun. “Different news agencies, different TV shows have all come up and said, ‘Hey, when Keefe gets out, we want to follow you. We want to see the preparation of defense.’”
While Arnold confirmed no deal is signed yet, he’s eager to appear in a documentary-like reality show himself.
“When I’m dead and gone, we have to preserve this thing. It’s a legacy. It’s a legacy case,” he added. “And so it is like Johnnie Cochran [O.J. Simpson’s lawyer], we could still go watch that old film of him and that if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”
Arnold and Davis hope to be able to go forward with the deal if Judge Carli Kierny grants bail at the hearing on Tuesday (July 23).
The outlet reports Arnold claimed a TV or film deal would help Davis pay his fees. However, whether Davis should be able to make money for discussing Tupac Shakur’s death has been a point of contention in considering bail.
During the June hearing, Judge Kierny was concerned that bail money from Wack 100 had been offered in exchange for a deal to discuss Tupac Shakur’s death. Arnold disagreed, arguing that “there is a lack of substantive proof” that was the case.
Keefe D Should Be Able To Profit From Telling His Story, Attorney Argues
However, in his recent motion to reconsider bail, Arnold argued that as Davis has not been convicted, a law preventing someone from profiting off of a killing does not apply.
“Judge Kierny does not at this time have the legal authority to prevent Mr. Davis from being paid any proceeds deriving from his story related to his life or any connection he allegedly has with the murder of Mr. Shakur,” Arnold wrote, per Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The publication also reports another possible stumbling block to Davis getting bail. Prosecutors recently filed documents that purportedly prove that Davis was in Las Vegas on the night Shakur was shot.
While Davis made multiple statements before his arrest, confessing to a role in the killing, Arnold claimed his client lied for fame and money.
EST Gee’s manager, EST Big Beach, was reportedly shot and killed following a concert in the rapper’s hometown.
According to multiple local outlets, officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department discovered Big Beach, real name Devontae Beach, in a vehicle in downtown Louisville just before 1:30 a.m. EDT on July 20.
He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced Beach dead at the scene. EST Big Beach was 31 years old.
EST Big Beach was in town supporting the CMG Records artist at his highly anticipated homecoming concert, EST Gee + Friends Summer Jam, last Sunday (July 20). Local cops had concerns about potential trouble at the event at the KFC Yum Center and drafted in extra units for the concert.
Back in 2021, ten members of the EST gang were indicted in a major federal drug trafficking bust.
“We are aware of this event and the potential public safety risk involved,” LMPD said in a statement published by WDRB on July 19. “LMPD will be providing extra security measures to assist in maintaining the safest possible environment within our ability. The goal of any police department is to protect the public. We have no tolerance for violence.”
EST Gee hasn’t spoken publicly about reports of his manager’s passing. EST Big Beach’s Instagram account was flooded with prayers and condolences.
Drake caused a stir on social media after posting a selfie of him wearing a shirt in homage to the late Tupac Shakur.
On Monday evening (July 22), the OVO honcho shared a photo on his Instagram Story. Many interpreted the mirror selfie as a subliminal shot of Kendrick Lamar. In the photo, Drake poses in a Tupac shirt with the words “Only God Can Judge Me.”
The photo soon began making the rounds on X (Twitter), sparking debate from fans.
“I’m actually really sick of drake using Tupac to troll Kendrick, or anyone,” one user wrote. “I mean regardless of which side you’re on, regardless of the beef, it’s just incredibly disrespectful to use a legend no longer with us as a mockery for your own gain because you’re salty & need attention.”
I’m actually really sick of drake using Tupac to troll Kendrick, or anyone. I mean regardless of which side you’re on, regardless of the beef, it’s just incredibly disrespectful to use a legend no longer with us as a mockery for your own gain because you’re salty & need attention
However, another user praised Drake for “keeping Tupac’s legacy alive on repeat.”
The user shared a screenshot of “Only God Can Judge Me” lyrics: “Perhaps I was blind to the facts, stabbed in the back/I couldn’t trust my own homies, just a bunch of dirty rats.”
One fan insisted that “the deeper message” behind Pac’s song “heavily relates to Drake’s situation.” They added, “A lot of his friends and damn near the entire industry turned on him,” and claimed, “Kendrick has always shown he was jealous of Drake.”

Both Kendrick Lamar and Drake referenced Tupac Shakur during the battle. Drake used AI to bring the West Coast legend to life on his “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Meanwhile, Lamar fired back on “Not Like Us.”
“You think the Bay ‘gon let you disrespect ‘Pac, n####,” he raps. “I think that Oakland show gon’ be your last stop, n####.”
Additionally, Lamar switched up the lyrics to “Euphoria” at his epic The Pop Out: Ken And Friends concert, referencing Drake buying Tupac Shakur’s ring. “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect,” he said.
Lupe Fiasco went viral over the weekend after sparking a heated debate among Drake and Kendrick Lamar fans following a Spaces chat on X (Twitter).
The “Kick, Push” rapper’s comments riled up K. Dot’s fan base, who accused him of hating on Kendrick Lamar. On Monday evening (July 22), Lupe Fiasco cleared the air after popping in a Spaces chat hosted by Joe Budden.
“I’m banned from talking about the beef,” Budden told Lupe. “I see you laying your fork in the sand on where you stand on things and that’s commendable for me.”
However, Lupe’s response was surprising, considering the backlash that followed his previous remarks.
“You know I haven’t listened to any of the songs?” he said, explaining that he stopped listening after Drake’s “Push Ups” and “Champagne Moments,” Rick Ross’ reply to the OVO boss.
“After the Ross response, I haven’t listened to anything,” he added. “So, I haven’t heard any of the records; ‘Family Matters,’ ‘Meet The Grahams,’ ‘Not Like Us.’ I kinda tapped out.”
Budden then quipped Lupe is “going off your sheer hate for one of them n#####,” but the Chicago MC was quick to shut him down.
“No I love Dot,” he insisted, later adding, “I genuinely don’t have any issues, I really don’t.”
Lupe then issued a PSA to kill the narrative he dislikes Kendrick Lamar.
“Joe Budden community, this is Lupe Fiasco,” he began. “I do not have a problem. No matter what was said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen. I personally and professionally do not have a problem with my brother in arms Kendrick Lamar.”

Lupe Fiasco Clarifies Comments About Drake & Kendrick Lamar Battle
He also clarified some of his comments on the Spaces at the weekend after he was clipped out of context.
He responded to a fan who thought Lupe claimed, “Drake had more of a say about hip hop because of his sales on tours and records.”
“I never said that,” Lupe replied. “We were not talking about any artist in particular at all during that part. People who did not listen to the entire conversation took that part only and ran with and reposted it as us talking about Drake & Dot.”
He also denied saying fans need a PhD in Hip-Hop to weigh in on the battle.
“Never really said that either,” Lupe explained. “I said IF you want to be a person who gets to decide who is allowed in hiphop and who is not then you should have a PHD in HipHop. If the person you are trying to kick out of hip hop knows more than you about hip hop then thats not fair.”
Kamala Harris walked out to Beyoncé’s “Freedom” on her first official visit to her campaign headquarters.
On Monday night (July 22) the Vice President addressed the nation at her organization’s headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. CNN reported Beyoncé swiftly approved the campaign’s request to use “Freedom” just hours before Kamala Harris emerged to the song.

Last year, Beyoncé gifted Harris tickets to her concert in Maryland, and the singer’s mother, Tina Knowles, endorsed Harris after President Joe Biden bowed out of the race on Sunday (July 21).
“New, Youthful, Sharp , , energy !!!!” Knowles said of Harris in an Instagram post. “You asked for it and our President Biden did what was best for the country ! Putting personal Ego , power and fame aside . That is the definition of a great leader, . Thank you, President Biden for your service and your leadership . Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President. Let’s Go.”
During her speech to campaign staffers, Kamala Harris declared it’s her “intention to go out and earn this nomination and win.” She also pointed to her background as California attorney general and as a courtroom prosecutor.
“In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds,” she said. “Predators who abused women. Fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type.”
Harris continued, “Our campaign has always been about two different versions of what we see as the future of our country. Donald Trump wants to take our country backward. To a time before many of our fellow Americans had full freedoms and rights. But we believe in a brighter future that makes room for all Americans.”

Ari Lennox has revealed she recently dealt with an experience similar to what Red Bull Records artist Blxst vented about on Instagram while traveling.
In case you missed it, artists such as Busta Rhymes, Pusha T, D Smoke and more showed support to Blxst after he spoke out and condemned a burglary that occurred at his home, disturbing and frightening his family and causing him to feel helplessly frustrated while touring abroad.
Blxst also shared security footage of the incident, remarking on how hard it was for him not to “crash out” in the immediate aftermath of the home invasion. While the Shea Butter Baby vocalist didn’t have the capability to share footage of the incident, she opted to vent her frustrations with the burglary attempt on of Los Angeles home, much like Blxst did, in a lengthy video she recently shared.
“My house got burglarized,” Lennox said. “I was renting a home in LA, n###as burglarized my home. Pepper sprayed my dogs and I wrote a song about it.”
Unlike Blxst, Lennox was actually in town when the burglary occurred, which she went on to remark about during her summation of the incident.
“So when that happened I was just like, ‘F##k this, I’m not going nowhere’,” she said. “It was crazy. The night that it happened, I stayed at the house and everything. I just was in so much shock. I didn’t want to go to a hotel, but it was really wild. Luckily I wasn’t there, but it was weird.”
Lennox theorized how it could have been a calculated attack, given the specific lengths the intruders went to pull off the burglary.
“It happened at a time where it’s like, ‘How the, did they know I had dogs? How the f### did they know I wouldn’t be home? It was weird as f##k,'” she said.
Ari Lennox then turned her attention to Blxst’s incident, saying, “And when I say I saw what happened to Blxst, I feel every word. I can’t imagine having to actually be there or my kids being there. That’s horrifying. So yeah, when that happened, I said, ‘F##k this.’ I’m damn sure not flying to Raleigh to even get on a plane.
“I have to have some sense of security and level-headedness. And at that point I was completely depleted and done. I said, ‘I can’t, I can’t, can’t.’ I couldn’t leave home. I couldn’t leave my dogs. I couldn’t do it. So next year for sure, I think I’ll be in a better space in general.”
Last month, Marlon Wayans spoke out after two intruders entered his home late at night through a rear window in a robbery attempt that was discovered when employees arrived in the morning and found the place ransacked. Marlon shared a similar post on Instagram after the fact, addressing the “ROBBERS and OTHERS” in the caption of the post with a PSA.
“I am the WRONG N* to ROB. Save your energy,” Marlon wrote. “Sorry, i live a simple life with 2 cats and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover, you will need a jumpstart if you steal it cuz the battery is dead. Robbers don’t waste your energy or your life doing home invasions, s### is too heavy!!!
“You want to carry all that b#######? Throw your back out, and for what?! I repeat I don’t own s### valuable. I don’t have a bunch of cash or jewelry. Please pick a better [target] thank you and love you… still.”
Check out the footage Blxst shared of the burglary that occurred recently at his home below.
Ralo is making sure to use his newfound freedom as an opportunity to do good deeds for his loved ones and give his incarcerated rap peer YFN Lucci his flowers in the process.
On Monday (July 22), the “Kingpin” shared a post on Instagram dedicated to his Atlanta rap counterpart YFN Lucci, who has been incarcerated since his arrest in 2021. In the lengthy caption of the post, Ralo took the time to empathize with Lucci’s situation, explaining why he shared a video of he and the “Wet” rapper’s recent conversation during which he informed him he would be taking his kids back-to-school shopping.
“Imagine being on 23 hour lock down for months,” Ralo wrote in the post.
“That sht will f## up a person head and soul. We gotta give Lucci momma her flowers for holding that sht down for him. I have to beg Lucci to allow me to do sht for his kids cuz that’s all ah nicca got fr. I told him we gotta show the world how to be real men cuz it’s way too much flaw sht going on and the people following the sucker sht.”
Ralo concluded, “He will never old nothing in return im looking for my rewards for our lord. Anything I do for anybody is to cleanse my soul from all the wrong I’ve done… I love you forever brother #FreeLucci (Ralo Chapter 38 Volume 3 #OutNow go watch and subscribe my YouTube please).”
In the video clip of their conversation, Ralo continued to break down how much he feels for Lucci and his situation, especially considering he spent years in the same predicament himself.
“You know, after like five, six years go by that s###, you be needing that s###, Lucci,” he said. “That bankroll get kind of, you know what I’m saying? You know, my first two years I cocky. I don’t need nothing from no b###h. Five years went by, six years I said, ‘Hold up I need it’.”
The connection between Ralo and Lucci is underscored by their dynamic collaborative chemistry, highlighted on releases such as “Dream Last Night” and “Been Had.” In 2017 the pair connected for their anthemic collaboration “The Dopeman” immediately after Ralo signed with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Eskimo Records and released his Famerican Gangster II mixtape.
Ralo was released from federal prison last November after he was convicted and sentenced to 97 months in prison, following a 2018 arrest stemming from a massive marijuana trafficking operation.
On the other hand, Lucci was charged with racketeering, violating Atlanta’s anti-gang law, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony back in 2021. Lucci pleaded guilty earlier this year in January as a part of a plea deal in which he can serve a sentence of 20 years in prison with credit for time served.

Soulja Boy avoided paying a $10 million judgment to a former girlfriend who sued him for assault, sexual battery and infliction of emotional distress. According to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly, a judge decided to toss a default judgment if the rapper appeared for a deposition by the end of the month.
A woman identified as Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Soulja Boy in 2021. She accused him of years of abuse and blamed him for her miscarriage. Jane Doe said the rapper punched her in the face and chest “until she could no longer stand on her feet” in 2015. The incident allegedly resulted in her loss of pregnancy.
Soulja Boy denied any wrongdoing. His lawyer argued he wasn’t responsible for the woman’s miscarriage.
“With respect to all causes of action, Defendant alleges that the willful, intentional, deliberate, malicious and fraudulent conduct of others was/were responsible for and proximately contributed to the damages alleged to have been sustained, if any such damages were sustained, the fact of which is expressly denied, and that such conduct constitutes a bar to Plaintiff’s recovery hereunder,” the attorney wrote.
Jane Doe requested $10 million in damages. She claimed Soulja Boy never sat for a deposition and failed to respond to her lawsuit. A judge granted her a default judgment but changed course after Soulja Boy agreed to sit for a deposition.
Soulja Boy faced lawsuits from another ex-girlfriend, Kayla Myers, and a separate Jane Doe who worked for him as a personal assistant. Myers successfully sued her former boyfriend for abuse. A jury awarded her six figures in damages in 2023.
The second Jane Doe filed her lawsuit in 2021. She accused Soulja Boy of rape and other acts of violence.
Earlier this month, Soulja Boy filed a lawsuit of his own when sued vlogger Tasha K for defamation. He sought $16 million in damages.
Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee accused Chris Brown and others of assault on Monday (July 22). Brown and his entourage allegedly assaulted four men in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday (July 20).
Buzbee announced he filed a lawsuit against Brown on social media. The lawyer said one of Brown’s alleged victims was hospitalized.
“On Saturday night in Ft. Worth, entertainer Chris Brown, along with his entourage, attacked and brutally beat several men who had just attended his concert,” Buzbee wrote on Instagram. “Multiple police reports have been made. At least one of the men beaten remains hospitalized. Chris Brown has a long history of violence. He has been arrested or accused of assault on at least ten occasions. Enough! The Buzbee Law Firm filed suit this morning on behalf of the four men brutalized this last weekend in the hope of obtaining justice for these victims and putting an end, once and for all, to Brown’s intolerable and thuggish behavior.”
Brown performed in Fort Worth on July 19 and 20. He was originally scheduled for just one concert at the Dickies Arena, but strong demand for tickets led to him adding a second show.
No police report or footage of the alleged assault surfaced before Buzbee called out Brown on social media. The victims are reportedly seeking $50 million.
Brown faced multiple assault allegations over the years. He was most infamously charged with beating his former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
The controversial singer accepted a plea deal and avoided jail in the Rihanna case. He pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault. A judge sentenced Brown to five years of probation and 180 days of community labor. Brown had to complete a domestic violence counseling program.
Last year, a man named Abe Diaw sued Brown over an incident at a London nightclub. Brown was accused of bashing Diaw over the head with a Tequilla bottle and stomping the man. The attack allegedly resulted in Diaw’s hospitalization.
Eminem scored the 11th No. 1 album of his career as The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) debuted atop the Billboard 200. Em’s latest chart-topping entry dethroned Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1.
The Death of Slim Shady moved 281,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week. It racked up 220 million streams and sold 114,000 copies in traditional sales.
Eminem tied Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen and Kanye West for the fifth most No. 1 albums in Billboard 200 history. He remained behind The Beatles (the record holder with 19 No. 1 albums), Jay-Z and Swift (14 each) and Drake (13).
The Death of Slim Shady prevented Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department from tying a record set by Stevie Wonder’s beloved album Songs in the Key of Life. Wonder’s classic spent its first 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Eminem dropped The Death of Slim Shady on July 12. It was his first album since 2020’s Music To Be Murdered By, which also debuted at No. 1.
JID, Jelly Roll, Babytron, Big Sean, Skylar Grey and Shady Records artist Ez Mil contributed to Eminem’s new album. The project featured production by Eminem, Dr. Dre, Don Cannon, Benny Blanco and more.
Eminem surprised fans by appearing at Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s Gin & Juice Party in London a week after The Death of Slim Shady’s release. Em performed “Houdini” from his new album and “Forgot About Dre” with Dr. Dre.
