Fivio Foreign Offers YK Osiris Advice Following Sukihana Controversy

YK Osiris found himself in social media’s crosshairs after footage of the singer forcibly kissing reality show star Sukihana without her permission went viral. Plenty of people have weighed in on the situation, including New York City-bred rapper Fivio Foreign.

Following a significant amount of online backlash, YK Osiris apologized to Sukihana for what many observers called blatant sexual assault. Suki accepted the “Worth It” recording artist’s apology and signaled she was ready to move on.

Hollywood Unlocked spoke to Fivio Foreign at the For Khadija documentary premiere during the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The Jason Lee-led outlet asked the B.I.B.L.E. album creator about the YK Osiris/Sukihana controversy.

“Just as a Black man in America and how our Black women are portrayed, you always got to be delicate,” Fivio Foreign said. “You got to be able to overread. Now, I don’t want to put another Black man down, but I feel for her and I got daughters. So you just got to read the room.”

Philadelphia-raised rapper Meek Mill caught heat for his own take on the negative reactions to the YK Osiris incident. Meek eventually ended his comments by telling Osiris to go back to church and stop following the heathens.

As far as the For Khadija film, Fivio Foreign showed up at the Tribeca Festival to back fellow NYC rap star, French Montana. He told HU, “It feels good to support another New Yorker, another man that I’ve seen from when I was a kid. I looked up to him so I’m definitely on fan timing.”

Angie Martinez Addresses Potential Remake Of “Ladies Night” Anthem

Radio Hall of Famer Angie Martinez executive produced ABC News Studios’ Hip-Hop @ 50: Rhythms, Rhymes & Reflections television special, which aired on Monday (June 19). Martinez sat down with Good Morning America to promote the program.

During the interview, Martinez reflected on her own breakout moment as a recording artist. “The Voice of New York” appeared on Lil Kim’s classic all-women posse cut “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix).”

“We talk about that a lot,” Martinez said about the possibility of a new all-female Hip-Hop anthem like the 1997 “Ladies Night” collaboration. The topic of contemporary female rappers comes up on Hip-Hop @ 50: Rhythms, Rhymes & Reflections.

Martinez told GMA, “We talk about where we are now in the culture, where we’ve come from. One of the things that we were talking about is how many amazing women are in the culture right now.”

Recently, Coi Leray called on her female rap peers to come together for a modern-day version of “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix).” Leray suggested the move would be a sign of Hip-Hop unity.

“There are so many [female] artists,” Angie Martinez continued. “There were times in Hip-Hop where that was not the case. So it’s really great to see that now. So, yes, there are a lot of women collaborating with each other and a big anthem like that would be fun.”

The last few years have seen multiple commercially successful all-female rap collaborations. For example, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion scored a global hit with “WAP” in 2020. Coi Leray teamed with Nicki Minaj for “Blick Blick” last year.

In addition to Angie Martinez, Hip-Hop @ 50: Rhythms, Rhymes & Reflections featured appearances by Coi Leray, Lola Brooke, MC Lyte, Master P, The Lox, Joey Bada$$, Fat Joe, Charlamagne Tha God, Melyssa Ford and others.

Lil Wayne Joins Big Freedia On “El Niño” Collaboration

Two New Orleans natives have come together for a new collaboration. Big Freedia linked up with Lil Wayne for “El Niño,” which also features rising performer Boyfriend.

Big Freedia’s “El Niño” arrived on this year’s Juneteenth holiday (June 19). The song is the fourth single from the upcoming 16-track Central City album, dropping on Friday (June 23).

“El Niño is about going hard in any storms that come in your life and conquering them!” Big Freedia said. The Bounce Music legend went on to address working with Lil Wayne.

“It’s one of my favorite songs on this record, it features my longtime collaborator Boyfriend, and it’s also my first collab with Lil Wayne, who I’ve wanted to work with for a long time,” Big Freedia added. “We put it down for our city, and this song is gonna have everyone blowin down!”

The Central City project will also feature Kamaiyah, Kelly Price, Ciara, Faith Evans and more. June 23 serves as the start date for Big Freedia’s nationwide tour as well, which begins in Brooklyn.

Big Freedia released the Just Be Free album in 2014. The former College Hill: Celebrity Edition cast member has also worked with Beyoncé for “Formation” and “Break My Soul.”

The Game Scoffs At Critics Of His 12-Year-Old Daughter’s “Pound Town” TikTok

The Game recently joined his three children in an amusing TikTok, but the song choice didn’t go down too well with some of his fans. The Los Angeles rap vet stood next to his daughter, California Dream Taylor, and two sons as the little girl jokingly rapped along to “Pound Town” by Sexxy Red and Tay Keith.

“I’m out here in Miami/Lookin’ for the hoochie daddies (where they at?)” mimed the 12-year-old as The Game turned to face his daughter with a mock disapproving grin. “Where the n*ggas that get ratchet (where they at?)/My son need a new pappy.”

The lighthearted clip was widely shared online, with many seeing the funny side of a rapper connecting with his kids with viral Hip-Hop songs. However, critics believed the lyrics were too grown for the pre-teen and took to social media to call out The Game. The “Hate It Or Love It” hitmaker wasn’t here for any of the criticism though and took to Instagram to respond.

“She my kid,” he wrote in the comments section of Hollywood Unlocked‘s post. “1/2 y’all kids got snot frozen on the outside of they nose but you tryna weigh in on the parenthood of mine… my kid in private school wearing uniforms makin straight A’s.. we good over here.”

It isn’t the first time The Game has responded to backlash over how he parents his daughter. Last December, he defended his little girl’s outfit for Diddy’s twin daughters’ sweet sixteen party.

“I am her father & her protector and she is & will always be an amazing young woman. I wish everyone happy holidays & thanks for your opinions on a child that belongs to US but we GOT THIS, ” The Game wrote.

GloRilla & Yung Miami Tease “Put It On Da Floor” Verses

GloRilla and Yung Miami are seemingly following in Cardi B’s footsteps, joining Latto on a fresh “Put It On Da Floor” remix. The City Girl member was the first to hint at a feature on the hit song, taking to Twitter with a snippet of her verse, captioned only with a series of eye emojis.

Yung Miami followed up a little while later with another teaser sharing her “favorite part” of the track.

“Ripping out the bands b#### these hunnids all blue,” she raps. “B#### I’m f###### on ya baby daddy and f###### mine too.”

However, while fans were going crazy for the apparent remix, Yung Miami revealed she was just having some fun with the song.

“I just love that song and did a lil freestyle lol,” she shared when asked if she submitted the verse to Latto. Nonetheless, Latto wants the verse to see the light of day. “Caresha pleaseee no cap in ur rap okk. DROP!” she penned, sharing Yung Miami’s freestyle.

Cardi B Wants GloRilla On The Remix

Meanwhile, GloRilla first expressed an interest in appearing on the remix earlier this month. Her request came days after appearing at Summer Jam with Cardi B, who also brought out Latto for the debut performance of “Put It On Da Floor Again.”

“Ian did a remix since I blew up but da Streets keep telling me to remix put it on da floor & I think I’m finna listen,” GloRilla wrote. “dat mf too hard.”

Cardi B gave her a stamp of approval, replying, “DO IT !!!!!!” After telling Cardi, “Say less Cous,” GloRilla appears to have stuck to her word.

Just a few hours after Yung Miami teased her freestyle, GloRilla hopped on Twitter to hint at her own feature. She shared a captionless screenshot of an audio recording titled, “(GLO) ON DA FLOOR RMX.”

Chlöe Bailey Performs Tina Turner Tribute At CNN’s Juneteenth Concert

Chlöe Bailey paid homage to a legend, performing a Tina Turner tribute to headline CNN’s “Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom” concert Monday evening (June 18).

The R&B singer took on a classic song from the late “Queen of Rock & Roll,” wowing the crowd with her beautiful “What’s Love Got To Do With It” rendition. Bailey donned a retro curly wig and red and gold bodysuit as she belted out the iconic tune. Tina Turner died at her home near Zurich, Switzerland on May 24. She was 83.

“Rest In Power to the great Tina Turner” she declared before beginning the song. “This one’s for you. I love you!”

Elsewhere during the Juneteenth celebration, Chlöe Bailey took on a classic from another era. This time, the Swarm actress stepped in for Kelly Rowland, joining Nelly to perform the 2022 hit collab “Dilemma.”

Vice President Kamala Harris addressed the crowd at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. She said the story of Juneteenth is “the story of our ongoing fight to realize America’s promise—not for some, but for all.”

Harris added, “I was so proud to co-sponsor a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. And as Vice President, it was my honor to stand beside our President, Joe Biden, as he signed the legislation that finally made that dream a reality.”

Drake Visits Bun B’s Trill Burgers In Houston: “Best Burger I Ever Had”

Bun B received a visit from a special diner weeks after opening the doors of his very first brick-and-mortar Trill Burgers in Houston. The UGK legend’s burgers have received rave reviews and won awards, but they just got the seal of approval from a rap superstar after Drake pulled up to visit his “mentor” Bun B at his latest business venture Monday (June 19). Bun B greeted Drake with a warm embrace before the pair got to catching up over some food.

“I don’t like to use the term OG,” Drake said in a video shared on his Instagram Stories, before calling Bun B his “mentor” and one of my favorite people in the world.”

The Houston native admitted that while “we get a couple of big deals in here every now and then,” few are a bigger deal than Drizzy. “We’re just happy to have you in the building.”

The “Rich Flex” hitmaker was impressed with the food, noting it was “the best burger” he’d ever had.

Houston’s own J. Prince was also in attendance and was seen welcoming Drake in a video Bun B shared on Instagram.

Russell Simmons Apologizes To Daughter Aoki Following Explosive Family Feud

Russell Simmons is on the receiving end of some damning allegations—this time from his own daughter Aoki Simmons and ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons. Aoki, 20, not only leaked some private texts from the Def Jam Recordings co-founder, she also went on Instagram Live and tearfully accused him of verbal abuse. She then uploaded a muted video of her father visibly angry and shouting during their FaceTime call, something Russell clearly regrets.

On Monday (June 19), as both Russell Simmons and Aoki trended on Twitter, the business mogul took to Instagram where he apologized for losing his temper.

“God is testing you a little bit, it’s ok, be strong,” he wrote alongside modeling photos of Aoki and his other daughter, Ming. “They are called growing pains. As you know, we grow through adversity and struggle. You read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood. Reach back and try to remember ‘smile and breathe,’ ‘smile and breathe.’ You are the watchers of this world, so let go. Be at ease. God is driving and he is working on you.

“DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling. But know this, there are no conditions. For sure I love you guys more than I love myself.”

Aoki, however, is convinced her dad needs help and could be suffering from some kind of mental break.

But like many others who’ve watched the Simmons family dynamic implode online, Fat Joe thinks they should take their conversations offline. He wrote, “This ain’t none of our business” and added a heart emoji.

Boyce Watkins added, “Family stuff should not be settled on the internet. The public doesn’t care about Russell or his family. Y’all just love the drama. I pray for your healing. All of you. Period.”

As for Kimora Lee Simmons’ part, she claims her ex-husband threatened their daughters’ lives. The fashion brand owner told her side of the story via Instagram Live in solidarity with her daughter. She says Russell Simmons has been blocked from her social media for a long time and continually paints a picture of a happy family when they’re anything but.

Even so, Aoki’s last two Instagram Stories show plenty of love for her father. In one, she shared several screenshots of past Father’s Day and birthday posts. She wrote, “I have always shown up for my Dad as a daughter can. I have always been in his corner. I have tried everything I could try.”

Yung Miami Fires Back At Critics Of Her Rap Skills

Yung Miami responded to criticism of her rapping on Monday (June 19).

The City Girls member defended herself after previewing her remix of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor.” Yung Miami referenced lyrics from the remix and boasted about how she doesn’t need to rap.

“So I said ‘hoe RAP FOR WHAT? this p#### pay the bills!!!’” she wrote on Twitter. “Cause y’all always saying I can’t rap but I ain’t even gotta rap tho!! LIFE IS GREAT b#### do you see how I’m living??? I ain’t never said I was no lyricist either tho lmaooo.”

Yung Miami’s music helped her achieve fame, but she expanded into other fields of entertainment in recent years. She started hosting her own talk show titled Caresha Please, interviewing top stars such as Diddy and Megan Thee Stallion.

The City Girls rapper also tried her hand at acting, but her work received a cold reception on social media. Yung Miami faced lots of mockery for one of her scenes in the STARZ series BMF. She pushed back against the negative response in March.

“The more they hate the more opportunities come!!” she wrote on Twitter. “It’s only the beginning for me!”

Lil Flip Mourns Screwed Up Click Member Big Pokey With R.I.P. Song

Screwed Up Click’s Lil Flip coped with the death of his friend Big Pokey by hitting the studio.

Lil Flip released a new song titled “R.I.P. Big Pokey” after the passing of his fellow S.U.C. member, who died on Sunday (June 18). The Freestyle King rapped over DJ Screw’s “June 27th” to honor Big Pokey.

“I never thought I’d have to make a ‘R.I.P. Pokey’ song/Man, I got the news last night when I was heading home,” Lil Flip said to open the song.

The Houston rap stalwart discussed his bond with Big Pokey and detailed the history of the late rapper. Lil Flip’s song reiterated many of the same sentiments from his Instagram post and encouraged the S.U.C. to come together after the loss of another member.

“DAMN,” Lil Flip wrote. “I DEFINITELY DID NOT EXPECT THIS #RIPBIGPOKEY. U ALWAYS WOULD SEE ME AND TELL ME HOW PROUD. U WAS OF ME! U NEVER EVER DID ANY FAKE S### OR SWITCHED SIDES. U ALWAYS STAYED SOLID!! #SCREWLUV WE GO MISS U BRO FRFR!! #SUC4LIFE #RESTEASY. FATHERS DAY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.”

Various members of the Houston Hip-hop scene paid their respects to Big Pokey, whose real name was Milton Powell. The 48-year-old rapper died after collapsing on stage in Beaumont, Texas.

Internet Money Rapper Rot Ken Charged With Murder In Georgia

Rot Ken, a rapper signed to Taz Taylor’s Internet Money Records, was arrested for the murder of a 24-year-old man in Augusta, Georgia.

According to the Augusta Press, authorities identified Rot Ken as one of the two suspects in an April shooting. The rapper and his accomplice allegedly shot two men, leaving one of the victims dead.

Online records show Rot Ken was charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a first offender and possession of a firearm during a crime. Authorities caught the second suspect, Vinston Moultrie, on Sunday (June 18).

Rot Ken, whose real name is Kenneth Williams, and Moultrie allegedly approached two men in a vehicle on April 26. The attackers opened fire at the car, killing a passenger named Usaini Yunusa.

Kobe Burns, the driver, survived the shooting but crashed into trees after he sped away from the scene. He was taken to the hospital.

Authorities said Burns was drunk. The 20-year-old victim faced DUI charges.

Rot Ken spent 10 days in jail for a probation violation before winding back behind bars on a murder warrant. He landed on probation from a past conviction for burglary, carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property.

Nicki Minaj Accused Of Stealing “Barbie World” Idea From Saweetie

Jason Martin, the rapper formerly known as Problem, claimed Nicki Minaj stole Saweetie’s idea to sample Aqua’s single “Barbie Girl” for the Barbie movie.

Martin, who worked with Saweetie on a song sampling “Barbie Girl,” detailed his allegations on Twitter and Instagram Live. Martin accused Nicki Minaj of taking Saweetie’s song idea after a proposed collaboration.

“As a writer on this, I can confirm this song and idea was sent to [Nicki Minaj] last year to submit for the Barbie movie,” Problem wrote. “It’s sad to see that the original artist has been pushed off a song that was her idea and was meant for both of them. I have no side in this, but I will be compensated.”

Saweetie previewed her song sampling “Barbie Girl” in late 2022. According to Martin, Nicki Minaj agreed to team up with Saweetie on the track. But Nicki Minaj allegedly bailed on the collaboration and created a new track titled “Barbie World” with Ice Spice. The situation left Martin frustrated and looking for compensation for his work.

“If or when I need to detail the whole way it went down in regards to this Barbie s###, you will understand why all writers need to be compensated with day rates and contracts protecting their intellectual properties the day of,” he wrote. “Hopefully this gets sorted out quietly. But please no I don’t scare easy.”

Quincy Jones Sudden Hospitalization Explained

Quincy Jones was rushed to hospital over the weekend over a bad reaction to something he ate.

Paramedics were called to the “We Are the World” producer’s home on Saturday afternoon before Quincy, 90, was taken to the emergency room.

A representative for the record producer and composer told TMZ in a Sunday statement that Quincy suffered a bad reaction to some food he ate, so out of an abundance of caution, he called 911 for help.

The spokesperson clarified that Quincy never lost consciousness during the ordeal, and was in “great spirits” by the time doctors gave him the all-clear and released him from the hospital.

Previously, Quincy suffered a brain aneurysm in 1974 that required two operations that left the producer with six steel pins in his head.

“I actually had two brain aneurysms,” he recalled in his 2018 documentary Quincy. “So I guess I would classify as having some experience with trauma to the brain. Also, my mother suffered from mental illness.”

He was also hospitalised in 2015 for chest pain and shortness of breath.

Ari Fletcher Puts Taina Williams’ Digits On Social Media

An exasperated Ari Fletcher has evidently had enough of the shenanigans. In fact, being unable to contact her young son, she decided to demand some attention by putting Taina Williams digits on social media. Only then was she seemingly able to establish contact.

Countless women have had to contemplate a partner’s infidelity. This situation is no different. If and when she decides to use social media to voice her frustration, the outcome often hits differently.

Please, don’t forget, her combined social media presence yields more than seven million followers. Time after time, many inquisitive eyes and opinions amplify many a messy situation. Therefore, when The Don reacts it makes a resounding impact.

While she may need to work on her delivery, the message is clear: don’t play games with this concerned mother and her child. Needless to say, when the determined businesswoman puts the game on two-player, people cry afoul.

Be that as it may, Ari Fletcher has taken the time to wholeheartedly address the situation. Within a thorough social media post, she summarized the entire ordeal.

With those Twitter fingers typing away, she directly addressed her actions. “Let me say this too real quick cause y’all gotta let the ‘bitter babymama’ thing go. Respectfully, saying I wanna be with my baby daddy is like saying I’m broke b**** it’ll never ever happen.

Furthermore, she contends, “I treat herb like a brother. I have no desire to f*** with him outside of a coparenting relationship. Being a side b**** to your own baby daddy is the lowest most embarrassing thing you can be in the world. So cut that s*** OUT!”

First Lady Flamez, Chayna Ashley & Toni Blanco Are Remy Card Winners—For More Than Rap

Bronx rapper and now battle rap league-owner Remy Ma had her first “Grudge” card, the only event she’s hosted since the controversial anniversary card that placed the Terror Squad vet at odds with her former friend, Troy “Smack White” Mitchell, and the Ultimate Rap League. The four-battle card had the potential to be really good. Find some highlights below.

First Lady Flamez solidified herself as the premier female battle rap MC out of Virginia, performing like a true champion. Fans had long awaited her battle against the first lady of Rare Breed Entertainment. The frequent URL battler dominated from the start to finish, with Kausion being able to land a few scathing lines. But it wasn’t good enough and she might need to figure stuff out if she comes off her platform to play against other stamped female MCs. She’s actually on her third loss against vets, which makes the Champion Rookie of the Year fall flat.

Brooklyn’s Toni Blanco went up against newcomer Cheyraq in what really was a grudge match. The two both have been or are involved with the same battle rapper, DOT. This battle was a great back-and-forth. Cheyraq boasted about how fast she got some big names and how it only took her a year to make it to the big stage. However, there’s something to be said about the marinade and paying dues.

What one learns is to keep their composure, because she looked bothered and spazzed out at the end, she looked like the loser. While the new Ms. Dot looked super cute, Toni snatched the “L” because she made the debatable exchange look more like a scolding, reducing the Massachusetts rapper with each round.

DOT Mob’s Chayna Ashley is incredible and showed the battle rap world can stop playing with her name. Aggressive but poised; articulate but comprehensively intricate, she’s by far one of the most frighteningly dope MCs in the culture.

Unfortunately, her gift was not as apparent against Tori Doe, who seemed to crumble standing in front of the seasoned veteran. Tori Doe forfeited two rounds by not saying anything—not one bar.

Whatever is the next Chrome 23 card, fans hope Chayna is blessed with a great talent with a strong work acumen and résumé. She deserves to be showcased as the queen she is.

While those were shining spots of the battle, several hiccups have it in the running as one of the worst battle rap events. There were quite a few outbursts that compromised the night, including Cheyraq’s freak out after Toni Blanco’s ending bars seemed to strike a little too close to home. Elsewhere, Tori Doe spaced out and refused to rap one bar while standing before Chayna Ashley, 40 BARRS looked at her phone during her battle against Yoshi G and Remy’s security interrupted the battle by arguing about 40 BARRS seemingly intimidating Yoshi G by standing in front of her and laughing at her choke. Then, both 40 BARRS and Yoshi G choked (automatically losing the rounds), Yoshi G got upset and threw a bottle at 40 BARRS because she was mocked by Team 40 for messing up her third round and the nasty rumor that Eazy the Block Captain got beat down by Remy’s husband and Tunecore executive, Papoose.

Remy Ma took to Twitter to apologize to the fans.

“I’d like to apologize to everyone that was disappointed tonight because we couldn’t get 3 full rounds from all the opponents,” she wrote. “I tried…and can y’all pleasee STOP with the Eazy & Pap LIES. There’s NO place like Chrome! Right back at it ; see y’all in August #Chrome23.”

Remy Ma followed up with amazing stats that shows growth in the new league’s position in the culture: “Chrome23 The Grudge Card Trending #7 WORLDWIDE EVERY artist on the card trended at some point during the night Over 2 million impressions And a substantial increase in subscribers Despite the hiccups… There’s No Place Like Chrome!”

Russell Simmons Has Father’s Day From Hell, Kids & Ex Blast Him

Russell Simmons experienced a Father’s Day that he would presumably rather forget, as his estranged family has leveled serious accusations against the music mogul, claiming he excels at gaslighting and has pushed them to their breaking point.

The day started on a bitter note when Russ’s eldest daughter, Ming, publicly snubbed her father and instead wished her mother, Kimora Lee Simmons, a Happy Father’s Day. That’s a big no-no. Just wish her a Happy Mother’s Day, but I digress. For some reason, the mogul-turned-yogi decided to take it to Instagram. He then posted a not-so-subtle message, calling out ex-wife Kimora Lee. He claims she’s responsible for creating obstacles in his role as a father to their children.

His children didn’t see things the same way and went in. On Juneteenth of all days, Kimora Lee went live and delved into the deep rooted issues with Russ, revealing she’s had him blocked him on social media for quite some time, yet he persists in posting as if they are good friends. Aoki, Russ’s other daughter, also shared a multitude of distressing text messages exchanged between her and her father, along with a muted video of him angrily ranting during a FaceTime call. There’s more about that FT call below.

Aoki expressed to her followers that she feels she has exhausted all options for repairing their relationship. Some in the family believe Russ may be grappling with a mental health issue. Well, I think all if this can bring out the worse in people. This has been a long time coming…

Earlier this month, Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons’ youngest daughter became one of the youngest graduates from Harvard University. However, we noticed her Def Jam pops was absent from both daughters’ graduation ceremonies in New York this month. Also, Russell Simmons stopped following Aoki on Instagram. In an Instagram post where Aoki expresses her gratitude and acknowledges everyone who played a role in her educational accomplishments, she noticeably doesn’t mention her famous father.

This has gone left. I hope they can get it together. This shouldn’t be our business.

By the way, one thing that seems to be for sure is Russell Simmons’ finances are being taxed. At 65, he’s lived the life of a king, but it would appear his money is funny. In between the lines, his daughter seems to be talking about her money and career. It doesn’t seem like he’s able to help her with either.

Last year, Kimora Lee Simmons defeated Rush in court to the tune of $100,773.37. The exes are also former business partners. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled in favor of Kimora Lee Simmons’ motion for attorney fees to be paid. At the time, he was ordered to pay the entire amount within 30 days of the court order. I guess he paid it.

The legal dispute began when Kimora Lee Simmons filed a lawsuit against Russell Simmons in July 2022. This came in response to a lawsuit filed by Russell Simmons in 2021, when he accused her and her now-estranged husband, Timothy Leissner (an investment banker) of an unauthorized stock transfer.

The saga continues.

SZA Felt Like She ‘Disrespected’ Her Parents After Dropping Out Of Delaware State University

SZA felt like she “disrespected” her parents by dropping out of college after two semesters.

While speaking to Elle, the “Kill Bill” chart-topper spoke about her brief stint at Delaware State University, where she studied marine biology.

She earned straight A’s for two semesters before losing interest and dropping out.

The 33-year-old told the publication, “I’m like, ‘I told you I was smart and I proved my point. I have to leave now.'”

SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, explained that she just stopped going to class and “completely flunked out of school and stopped working at jobs that make any sense to people.”

In hindsight, the Grammy Award winner regrets the stress she put her parents through during that time.

“I really disrespected my parents for a long time… Me telling my mom I would rather go run in the streets and bartend at the strip club so I can pay for studio time (than go to school). It’s crazy,” she shared.

In 2013, the performer signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, becoming the first female artist to join the label, and she released her debut album Ctrl in 2017.

SZA is currently in the middle of the European leg of her SOS Tour. The trek began in February and is set to wrap up on October 29 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Pregnant Chrisean Rock Allegedly Rolls Up A Blunt On IG Live

Pregnancy can be a beautiful experience. Although it’s a rewarding adventure, challenges often arise. Overall, it seems like Chrisean Rock is handling it well. That was until she was allegedly seen on Instagram Live rolling up what appears to be marijuana.

Thus far, it’s no secret the candid personality shares a tumultuous relationship with rapper Blueface. Most times, the romantic relationship seems fleeting. However, these two are always going to be responsible for the well-being of their child.

Be that as it may, the Baltimore Baddie may be smoking marijuana. In many instances, this would be no big deal. A lot of states are even working diligently to decriminalize recreational use of the popular herb.

But to some people, smoking weed while pregnant is categorically sinful. Yes, women should always have the right to decide what happens to their bodies. So, is the “Lit” rapper in the wrong? Nonetheless, GloRilla tosses her an alley-oop, which she nearly drops. All the same, there is no direct footage of her smoking said blunt.

Socially, there’s still a negative stigma attached to a pregnant woman indulging in the elevating activity. On the other hand, will this taboo eventually become normalized and accepted. Thoughts?

DJ Khaled, Gucci Mane Songwriter Sentenced To Life Without Parole For Murder

Music industry veteran Justin Wright, also known as J. Wright and founder of Camp Entertainment Worldwide, will be spending the rest of his life behind bars. According to WSB-TV, the songwriter was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Wilanna Bibbs, his former 20-year-old girlfriend in Iowa.

During the proceeding, Wright sat in complete silence and didn’t utter one word about the killing, his conviction or sentencing. Bibbs’s life was just beginning. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, she wanted to be a singer. This appeared to make the couple, who dated for a few months, an easy pair.

However, the young lady was fatally shot on May 9, 2021, in a home in Davenport by her lover. Wright, who’s worked with Bow Wow, Timbaland, Kash Doll, Gucci Mane, Future, 21 Savage, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, was found guilty of first-degree murder in April.

Scott County Attorney Kelly Cunningham said Wright and Bibbs were in Davenport visiting relatives of the songwriter during the deadly altercation. Thomas Bibbs, the victim’s father, said his daughter was killed after the two allegedly got into an argument over $70.

After being sentenced, Wright wasn’t able to address his mother. His mother asked if she could say goodbye to her son, but a deputy escorting him out of the court, shook his head “no.” After denying the request, he walked him back to his cell.

Email Reveals Lawyer Didn’t Want To Blame Kelsey Harris In Tory Lanez’s Shooting Trial

The internet seems to be reeling after an alleged email from Tory Lanez’s first lawyer, dated November 21, 2022, has emerged. The screenshot of the email was posted by “Legal Affairs and Trials with Meghann Cuniff.” In the correspondence, it shows attorney Shawn Holley was “not comfortable” using Megan the Stallion’s former friend as the scapegoat in the Canadian recording artist’s murder trial.

The subject title for the email says, “CONFIDENTIAL/ ATTORNEY-CLIENT COMMUNICATION.” In the body, the lawyer said, “Tory, As we discussed on Saturday, I am not comfortable advancing the ‘Kelsie Defense’, primarily because I don’t find it to be a viable strategy. I don’t believe my position will change unless Quan is persuasive in the preview of his testimony and you are persuasive under mock cross-examination by George and/or Lisa.”

Holley continued, “Even if both of those benchmarks (Quan/you) were satisfied, I am still not certain that I would be willing to go forward. In light of that, you should discuss with George [Mgdesyan, the other attorney at the firm] his willingness and ability to move forward with that defense and if he can do so by the trial date (December 6). I will help him get up to speed, if that is something you/he are interested in.”

As reported by AllHipHop, Lanez was under investigation for shooting the Houston rapper in her feet. Mgdesyan did go along with the strategy and Holley was removed from the case.

Despite Holley’s uncertainty the strategy would work, he argued Kelsey Harris shot her friend five times in a jealous fit with a semi-automatic firearm around 4:25 a.m. on July 12, 2020. The “WAP” co-artist was later hospitalized, where bullet fragments in both feet were removed by surgeons.

The jury deliberated for seven hours over two days before convicting Lanez last December of first-degree assault, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and having a concealed and unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Now, Lanez is waiting for his sentencing which is scheduled for August 7.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford will determine his fate. He’s currently looking at 13 years in prison.
