How Kenny Brooks Went from Being Kidnapped to Releasing Comedy Music

Kenny Brooks, fondly known as a Funny salesman across his socials, is a Comedy Rapper who came from nothing to something. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and learned to hustle at a young age. He started working at 11 years old – selling Detroit newspapers Door to Door because he admired a good life, and his mum could barely afford it.

Kenny Brooks started music after escaping a kidnapping ordeal with an Indian reservation in Helmet, California, where he had traveled for work. A coworker had made outstanding sales in Soboba, prompting Kenny to go to the neighborhood the next day. Kenny, of a black origin, was unaware of what was in store for him that day. He was yelled at and chased away in all the homesteads he approached. Poor Kenny did not give up despite being rejected. He bravely knocked on every door he came across despite being yelled at.

The angry Indians could not imagine how a black person was that brave and arrogant to assume their order; hence they planned to torture and kidnap him. The lady who opened the door bought a piece of products and warned him against the racist community. Kenny was so scared and contacted his manager to pick him up immediately before the situation could escalate. Even before the manager could show up, the worst happened. The Indian guys approached him as he left the lady’s porch and harassed him seriously. They even threatened him with Mohegan’s sword and a gun.

Miraculously, as they forced him inside their truck, unmarked police officers riding in the same street came for his rescue, and the kidnappers fled. Luckily, they were arrested within hours of search and arraigned in court the following week. Kenny was threatened by a certain Indian while heading to the court, leaving him terrified, and he denied having ever set his eyes on the sued guys, claiming the kidnappers were all black. He quit his sales job, flew back to Detroit, and wrote a comedic song about the entire ordeal to express his anger and fear. Many people laugh at the story and find him funnier than Lil Dicky.

Today, Kenny is so proud of his achievements. He featured on season 16 of the famous show – Nick Cannon Wild N Out and has an award named “Be Like Kenny,” an award given to UFC fighters dedicated to his first-ever viral video that’s been seen over 300 million times. Kenny has also featured in music videos and been a songwriter for rappers who needed funny punch lines for their songs. Musicians and celebrity friends praise him for his hard work and determination.

Kenny Brooks encourages you to follow your dreams and never give up because you never know your destination. “Imagine if I had given up and quit my job just after the Indian kidnapping, I might not have gotten an avenue to record my first song, which inspired me to become a rapper, I would’ve never met Jamie Foxx, gone viral, nor been a musician,” Kenny Brooks explains.

Kenny Brook envisions himself in big music videos on Vevo MTV or VH1 and wants to be the biggest rapper in the world and make appearances on big screens in a few years. He also wishes to make his acting debut. Follow Kenny’s story on Instagram at @funnysalesman

Kanye West Sued For Keeping Rented Clothes Just After Being “Stranded” On The Road

The lawsuits against rap star Kanye West continue to pile up.

The rap star was just hit a lawsuit by a clothing rental service that claims the rappers stiff them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of clothing.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Kanye owes a designer named David Casavant Archive over $400,000.

Kanye is accused of renting rare clothing from the celebrity fashion service and never returning them.

The rapper is allegedly holding on to 13 rare pieces of clothing from brands like RAF Simmons and Helmut Lang. According to the David Casavant Archive, one parka alone is worth $50,000.

The company says they had no problems with Kanye for almost ten years, but the rapper stopped paying at the end of October 2020.

The fees have been piling up weekly. According to the lawsuit, the rapper owes $221,000 in unpaid rental fees and another $195,000 in replacement fees for the garments.

In addition to the DCA lawsuit, Kanye is fighting several high-profile lawsuits.

Last week, the rapper was sued by Ultra International Music Publishing, claiming he stole a sample from a house musician named Marshall Jefferson and used it in his song “Flowers” on his album Donda 2.

In May, the rapper was also sued by a Texas pastor who claimed Kanye sampled his sermon on his song “Come To Life” on his 2021 album Donda.

The lawsuits come after another viral moment for Kanye West.

Footage of the rapper “stranded” on the side of the road in Malibu, California, spread across the internet yesterday (July 6th).

The rapper, who was wearing a heavy jacket, black jeans, and his signature knee-high boots, twiddled on his phone and tapped his foot with no security – or anyone else – in sight.

Ye briefly conversed with a passerby, who offered the world-famous billionaire rapper a ride, which he reportedly declined.

Papoose Reveals His Secret To Successfully Releasing An Album Every Month For A Year

Papoose has officially done the unthinkable: released a project every single month for a full year.

So one question remains, how did he have the freedom to do so? TuneCore. Thanks to this music distribution company, which recently announced their newest business model titled “Unlimited Plans,” independent artists now have the freedom to drop music at their convenience, all for a super low annual flat fee.

In fact, this serves as TuneCore’s biggest announcement since 2006, priding itself in having the most affordable unlimited distribution plan on the market. Unlike other distribution companies, those who sign up with TuneCore have the bandwidth to schedule their releases in advance with official verification on Spotify and Apple Music, along with artist support response time within a 72-hour time span.

With Papoose’s impact on the rap game going strong for decades on end, it was only right for him to be the spokesperson for this new venture. On the music tip, Papoose recently unveiled his critically-acclaimed new single “Cap,” calling out the current artists in the rap game while laying down his signature braggadocious bars.

AllHipHop caught up with Papoose to discuss releasing an album each month, collaborating with Lil Wayne, how he celebrated his anniversary with Remy Ma, love and respect for Shyne, new single “Cap,” and more!

AllHipHop: Talk about your relationship with TuneCore. When did you join and how’s your experience been?

Papoose: I joined TuneCore maybe 2009, that’s when I first heard about it. Just the word Tunecore itself had a different meaning to it, it meant you can put out your own music and you don’t need nobody. You heard the word TuneCore, that was the definition of it. “You need to get TuneCore,” and that meant independence. That meant you were going to be able to have freedom as the artist to do your own thing. It was introduced to me, that’s how the person broke it down. So I went ahead and signed up, got on. I’d try it out here and there to see how it works, so I was learning it over time. I always had it, but I didn’t go full-fledged until recently.

AllHipHop: Where were you before and what is the biggest difference in joining TuneCore?

Papoose: I had a deal with Jive back then, I signed with Jive for the big deal. When I got off that, I did something with Ingrooves. I did something with EMPIRE, United Masters, you name them. I’ve experienced all of these people. So when I’m giving you my outlook and my opinion, it’s from my experience. I haven’t worked with nobody better than TuneCore yet, that’s just being honest.

AllHipHop: What is it about TuneCore that makes it such a great experience for independent artists?

Papoose: Well, it’s all up to you. You become your own boss, you make your decisions. It’s up to how hard you work, that will determine the outcome as opposed to you and a label. They basically tell you, “this is your single, this is the one we like.” You gotta get it going first. You gotta get radio play, you gotta get streams. You gotta get all these different things that they have set up before you can release your album.

As opposed to when you’re at TuneCore, you can decide. You don’t base the release of your music on commercial success. You organically let the fans appreciate it, then when your project comes out, they support it. It’s natural, it’s not forced. With TuneCore, they have a staff set up if there’s any problems. You can get someone on the phone, you can communicate to fix it. It’s like other places: during the process of releasing your music, you can’t even communicate with anybody.

You upload your music, you pay a flat fee, you can upload as much music as you want. TuneCore is unlimited as f###! [laughs] As opposed to when you go with another distributor, you do a 20/80 or whatever split they give you. They steal your money, TuneCore isn’t like that.

AllHipHop: It’s a super low price a year right? $13?

Papoose: Yeah, that’s just insane. They selling nicks on the dime block right now, you kidding me? [laughs] You could release as much music as you want, it don’t get no better than that. That’s basically telling the artist: as much as you wanna work, they’re giving you the outlet. It’s up to you. You can determine how much money you make, how much exposure you get, how much music you want to release. It’s all up to the artist, TuneCore really just gives you the freedom.

AllHipHop: You released an album for each month, that’s crazy!

Papoose: I decided last year that I was going to release an album every month, titled after the current month. That’s something that was never done in history, I really challenged myself through that. A lot of different distributors turned their back on me. “Oh, you’re not going to be able to do this. It’s not going to work. You’re going to overlap yourself.”

Everybody told me “don’t do it.” I can’t think of nobody that said, “Yeah, good idea!” Everybody that I know personally said “yo, there’s no way it’s going to work. Bro it’s too much, you’re not going to be able to do it.” It’s crazy because with the outcome, it was one of the best things I ever did in music.

AllHipHop: In terms of bread?

Papoose: In terms of financial gain. If you look at my process, what happened last year, I started out just doing my regular music with some great solid, unknown producers. But towards the end of the year, you see me with production from Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, features from Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Rick Ross. It just shows you how much hard work pays off, and you see it grow throughout the year. You’ve seen from my first project, as it progressed, the speeches, the production, everything got better. It opened so many doors for me as an artist.

It was crazy, it was a rollercoaster ride for me to watch it unfold like that. I can credit that all to the consistency. Without an outlet like TuneCore, I wouldn’t be able to do it. Other distributors said it wasn’t going to work, it’s too much. TuneCore gave me that freedom.

To answer your question, yes the financial gain is impeccable. I can’t even sit here and front. You know me, I don’t like to talk about money because everybody starts thinking you owe them something. Everyone comes asking for handouts, other than the one who deserved it. But that’s a whole nother topic. The money is amazing. As for artists, I’m a tell you now: the money is amazing. Because you’re putting in more work, you’re putting out more product for people to buy. It’s common sense, and the exposure is great. It paid off for me in a tremendous way.

AllHipHop: How did you first find out about Unlimited Plans?

Papoose: In the process of me doing Unlimited Plans, I ended up meeting with the great people of TuneCore. I sat at dinner with them. We sat down and talked, we traded ideas and thoughts. Them people over there are genius. Collectively in our conversation, they came up with the concept. They said “you know what we’re gonna do?” Because I expressed them and I told them, “working with your platform is one of the things that enabled me to be able to release 12 projects in one year.”

To me in my eyes, they were trying to interact with artists. Figure out what’s going on in the mind of an artist? What do you like about TuneCore? What do you dislike? Within that conversation, they seen that there are artists out there who want to be consistent, but distribution companies don’t allow them. Record labels don’t allow them to. Everyone’s trying to make a certain song in a certain way, to push out at a certain time and fit into a certain category, instead of artists being themselves. Releasing music when you create it, just getting it out there naturally. Expressing that to them, they came up with the concept. “You know what, let’s do unlimited for a full year. Allow artists to have that freedom.”

AllHipHop: What was their reaction when you dropped a project a month?

Papoose: They seen it happen. They’re probably in the office like “f### is going on here?” You gotta understand, you upload your own music. I dropped a project in January, they’re like “okay we got this Papoose project.” February, “oh we got another Papoose project.” March, “what the f### is up with this guy? What is he doing?”

I talked to Ebro from Hot 97 around March, because he works at Apple. He said “I don’t know what the f### you’re doing, but keep going man. Keep flooding the system up, I’ve never seen no s### like this.” He told me that, so I got a gauge that I was on the right track. A lot of people were trying to discourage me in the beginning. But around March, April, people were starting to see results. I was starting to get feedback.

Because I did it quietly. People don’t pay attention, I announced it. I got over 2 million followers, but the population of the world is way bigger than 2 million. As I started to do it, people started to see and realize, “oh this n*gga not playing.” July, people were going back like, “wait a minute, this is not the first album this year he dropped others?” It was creating a lot of awareness for me.

AllHipHop: Did it force you to really go hard in the studio? Or were a lot of the records already recorded?

Papoose: It made me better, it made me so much better as an artist. Exactly like you said, it forced me to go hard in the studio. I got so much better. I don’t even know if I’m that good now because I haven’t been releasing music at that rate that I was last year, but I noticed how much better it made me as an artist.

September, I did it one day. I waited all day, because I dropped each project on the final date of each month. I’m talking about it being the 30th, and I wouldn’t have any songs done. I had to drop a project by the 31st. I had to record, mix and master, create artwork, get it out, upload to TuneCore in one day. I did it in September, I was able to do it. But had I not been dropping projects each month, there’s no way I would have been able to deliver a project in one day.

I was creating at such a high rate that it made me better. It was easier to write, ideas were flowing constantly because I’m constantly creating. It made me so much better. Honestly by the middle of the year, it became easy. In the beginning, it was a little challenging. But as it progressed, it was flowing like water.

AllHipHop: Where does that drive come from? What made you kick it in high gear?

Papoose: Initially, when the year started, I said “I’m going to retire from music. This is my last year rapping. To show my appreciation of my fans, I’m going to drop a project each month. It’ll be my final run.” Rest to peace to Kay Slay, he was the first one to call me and say “You can’t retire. You work too hard, there’s no way you’re retiring.”

I told him, “Yeah, I’m retiring. It’s my last year rapping.” He’d debate me: “no, you can’t do it.” As it progressed, I didn’t know I’d get that much love. I didn’t know that so many people would be excited about those projects, so I had to reevaluate things. Listening to what Slay said, he really didn’t want to see me give up or retire. I took his advice and I’m still here, but that was one of the reasons why I did the projects each month. I was planning to retire.

AllHipHop: How’d you get in contact with Lil Wayne?

Papoose: Man, you know what? It had been brought to my attention that Wayne was a fan of what I do before. When he was locked up, Mack Maine had reached out to Slay. He told me “yo we f### with Pap. He said “he loves “Alphabetical Slaughter” which
is a song by DJ Kay Slay featuring Papoose.

I had met him a couple times, we slapped high fives. But in the process of me doing this run throughout the year, I started to see a different environment for me as an artist that was out there. A different type of energy. I told myself one day: “this is the best time for me to reach out to artists that I respect, that admire, that I want to work with.” Lil Wayne is one of them guys. When I tell you I reached out to him, he responded instantly. [snaps]

AllHipHop: Was it via Instagram DM?

Papoose: Let’s just say I reached out to Wayne. At the rate I was working, I knew a lot of people were paying attention. I was on their radar, let me say that. If I wasn’t working at that high rate, I don’t think I would have gotten that many great producers and features done. I reached out to Wayne, he hit me back quick as a m###########. He killed it. Shout out to Wayne, a man of his word. Everything he said he was gonna do, he did it. We shot the video, it was crazy.

AllHipHop: What’s the most important thing to you in the music business?

Papoose: My independence. The worst mistake I ever made was signing to a major label. If I could go back, I’d never do that s###. My independence is the most important thing to me as an independent artist, maintaining my independence. That way, I’m not a slave. I’m not doing so much hard work and someone else is getting the benefits. I’m not losing my creative control, so my independence for sure.

AllHipHop: You and Remy Ma just celebrated 14 years of marriage. How did y’all celebrate, and what does it mean to have her by her side all these years?

Papoose: Shout out to my wife, we celebrated 14 years of marriage by just loving each other. We had an amazing date. We did dinner, spent time with the baby. We bought amazing gifts for each other.

AllHipHop: What did y’all get each other?

Papoose: I brought Remy another diamond ring. I bought her a whole bunch of s###: the whole Versace setup from the Versace store. The Versace bag, the Versace robe, a whole bunch of Versace. I went crazy, I made sure I got her a lot. A lot of materialistic things. But more importantly, I gifted her with our longevity and just my loyalty. We try to take that date to reflect on our journey together and what it means to be able to say we’re going to have another 14 years ahead of us. Raise our daughter, send her off to college together. We celebrated it with quality time, it was amazing.

AllHipHop: Did you body Remy Ma your own song?

Papoose: [laughs] I could never body her, she’ll kill me anytime. She’s one of the best rappers to ever walk this planet.

AllHipHop: You just released “Cap,” who were you talking to Papoose?

Papoose: I’m talking to everybody. [laughs] Everybody! Nobody in particular, nobody’s excluded. I’m talking to everybody. If the shoe fits, ____ the pig that screams is the one that hits?. Just a lot of cats going on out here man. My music is a reflection of what’s going on in my experiences, I just see a lot of cappin’ going on. Shout out to all the cappers, because y’all inspired me to make a song about you. A lot of big s### be going on, that’s all.

AllHipHop: I was at BET Awards when Diddy brought out Shyne. What’s your relationship with them?

Papoose: I met Shyne for the first time a couple of months ago. He came up to me and gave me a lot of love, a lot of respect. One of the things he commended for, he said “what you do with your community, I really respect that. Make sure you keep going.” Because I do a lot of gift back, a lot of charities in my hood where I came from. Every year we go out and give out stuff during the holidays. I’m always talking to the kids, I give out school supplies. I’ve been doing this 7, 8, 9 years straight now.

It reached his radar. He let me know he respects what I do. I’m just a fan of Shyne man, Shyne is fire. When he came home, everybody hated on him. You know what’s crazy? When he was locked up, he released some music. He released a joint here and there. Every time I’d hear him rap, when he came home, his f###### bars were so crazy. I’m a listener.

To be honest, I compare that to when Remy was incarcerated. When I used to visit her and she’d spit certain verses to me, them s#### were so potent. I guess because they’re sitting behind that wall, their creative processes are different. Shyne’s s### was so potent. To see the industry and people say “oh nah,” you know how people have their opinion? Nobody been upfront now, because he’s found another way to reroute. He’s on another level with what he’s doing, shout out to Belize.

He probably don’t even care about this music s###. But as a fan, his music, his content was so fire. Everybody’s acting like it wasn’t, and that annoyed me. I was happy to see him come out with Puff, shout out to Puff. It was amazing to me. When I met Shyne, he showed me a lot of love and respect. There’s a video of me and Shyne chopping it up.

AllHipHop: Any goals for yourself?

Papoose: Just constant elevation. Raising my daughter, that’s the most important thing in my life.Being a father to her, making sure I make no mistakes. You have to be very careful, children are exposed to so much nowadays. As a father, as a mother, make sure you don’t miss one moment of their lives. I got other children so I want to be the best father I can possibly. Just be successful and continue to elevate.

Make sure everybody understands that TuneCore is unlimited as f###. All artists: if you want to be your own boss, go out there and get TuneCore. Because what I say about TuneCore, it’s not promotion. It’s from the heart. I’m telling you my experience as an artist. I’ve been on the major, I’ve had a $1.5 million deal. I know what that feels like, and being independent is the best option you can ever do as an artist.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?

Papoose: I also have a transportation company, Honorable Transportation. We got all luxury vehicles, sprinters, SUV’s. Any artist who’s in town, if you’re in the northeast area and you travel, reach out to me. I’ll make sure you’re very well taken care of. Get TuneCore now, it’s the best way to go. Make sure you go to all digital platforms, I dropped 12 albums in one year. They’re all available on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc. They’re all there for your purchase. Look forward to what I got coming next musically, you’re going to love it!

Stop trying to convince me that your daughter is not a

SNAKE…

… I just want to be released from this strong devilish

allure the sexual seduction of a masterful manipulator who

knows how to [ convince everyone that she’s not mean of

there to KILL YOU ] please God RELEASE ME – RELEASE ME

FROM YOUR POISON RELEASE FROM YIUR STRONG HOLD

RELEASE ME I BELONG TO THE KINGDOM…..

.. I have SO

MUCH MORE WORK TO DO……….. I am single now and I want

everyone to DM have fun with @zelietimothy she’s verified

now and wasn’t ready to be married she still wanted to go

BIG Zane live her best life………

.. I want to get married and

COMFORTS of this FAMILY AND MARRIED LIFE………

I smoke

hookah at home everyday so I don’t want to be in your clubs

or around your women I want to stay home and be the hard

working family man that I am

What has happened is not fully understood at the moment but understand this: Tyrese is upset. A brief perusal of his social media yields some of the pain that he might be going through. But it also shows that there may be more to it.

On the other side of the fence, homegirl is saying some things as well. Her IG stories are talking very loud to Tyrese. But she is completely subbing him and not mentioning his name. And for that, we give her a little bit of respect. However, I don’t think we have seen the last of this drama.

Here’s some of her stuff.

For those that don’t know, these two were inseparable. They were smitten and in love. And, it appeared that they were going to go all the way to marriage. I am not sure how old she is (26), but I believe she is considerably younger than Black Ty (43) and we may be looking at a situation similar to Michael B Jordan and Lori Harvey.

These young chicks are out here turning brothers out and the men are not prepared for the heartbreak that comes with it. I hope that they heal quickly and find somebody in their age bracket so that they don’t have to deal with this young girl stuff. Get you an auntie, fellas! The Auntie Crew is DOPE!! Sadly, she is probably looking for another “high value man,” but I could be wrong.

Kevin Sausville Is Pushing the Boundaries of What Music Can Do On The Internet

The internet has greatly changed the music industry, helping artists promote their work and easily interact with their audience. With the many streaming platforms, music has been made more accessible to the public, giving both up-and-coming and established artists an avenue to showcase their talents. As the internet continues to evolve and is rapidly transforming the music scene, Kevin Sausville is pushing the boundaries of what music can do on the internet by bringing in a new approach to the industry.

“Technology has transformed the music industry from production, distribution, and performance to even how music is consumed,” says Kevin Sausville. However, he believes that a lot more can be done to help deliver great music, keep the audience entertained, and support young talents.

In writing and composing his music and even arranging his shows, Kevin Sausville is leveraging technology to challenge the music world’s set boundaries. His unique sound, impeccable voice, and stellar visuals have helped him earn a place in the industry, with his tracks getting 20K+ monthly listeners.

He consistently holds the view that his commitment, passion, and values are what have enabled him to succeed in his job. Kevin is a rapper that is ready to change the game with the innovation he has been showcasing in his art.

When Kevin watched his college roommates making music, that is how it all began. One of his works, “World Is Mine,” is a good example of how the artist’s emotions come through in the work. Kevin Sausville worked hard and learned the ins and outs of music production to hone his musical skills and expertise.

Through his songs, Kevin Sausville pushes the boundaries of what music can do on the internet, creating a solid online community.

He notes that he had trouble settling in when he first started in the music industry. Kevin Sausville wanted to fit in, and he was doing things to please others, not himself. This took a toll on his career, and he felt like giving up, but he didn’t. He remained true to himself, and he’s now driving significant change in the industry.

Kevin Sausville never tries to force a project; instead, it just clicks and comes to him. Sometimes he steps back, takes a breather, and then restarts when he can’t begin a project because nothing clicks into place. He normally finds life and meeting new people to be enjoyable.

He is a talented artist deserving of recognition from the audience.

Tamir Rice’s Murderer Gets A Job & Immediately Loses It

You thought we were going to forget? Former police officer Timothy Loehmann got a job recently and lost his job today. He is well known to Black people with a conscious heart and mind as the guy that killed a young 12-year-old within seconds. He is the man that murdered Tamir rice.

The Cleveland Police Department absolved him of all wrongdoing even though he killed him within seconds. We don’t let him off the hook! He has been somebody that we’ve decided to follow to the death and make sure he never does this again.

So, when it was revealed that Loehmann had gotten a new job in Tioga, Pennsylvania, people were all over it! The funny thing is dude got a job in Pennsylvania in a city with a population of 700. And Low-Man is making roughly $18 hours per day as a police officer. He is literally the only police officer in this entire town! He was hired on a 90-day probationary period.

The mayor, one David Wilcox, said that he had no idea that this was the same officer that murdered Tamir Rice. In fact, he said that he was for bidden to see his résumé and his background. “I was not allowed to take his resume or look into his background,” the mayor said.

I wonder what he thought about a police officer that comes so far away to a town so small. He definitely knew that Low-Man was coming from Cleveland. Nevertheless will let the mayor slide. Anyway this is not the first time that Loehmann is tried to get a job. He tried briefly in 2018 and quickly withdrew his application after people realize he was a child murderer.

YEAH BRO, NO GO: Officer who killed Tamir Rice withdraws application to Bellaire Police Department

Anyway, we are going to continue on with this until the death of Loehmann. You should never be a cop again, buddy!

Anyway, as word of his employment spread, he must’ve understood what was about to happen. And Low-Man quit. I am quite sure they asked him to resign, but he did in fact reason quit the job. And, know this: you’re going to continue to quit in perpetuity as long as you apply for jobs that involve a gun.

Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association President Jeff Follmer issued the following statement regarding Loehmann being brought on as an officer by another department:

“Timothy Loehmann was cleared of all charges with his use of force. The only administrative charges after a civilian review was that he was found to have allegedly lied on his application. Timothy Loehmann was not given a fair chance in this area and deserves a fair chance in another city.”

F##k you, Loehmann! You killed a child! And Jeff Follmer, eat s##t and d!e slow. He can’t get a job for a reason: people have morals.

RIP TAMIR RICE!

Colin Kaepernick Will Not Be Saving Ice Cube’s Big3 Basketball League. ‘It’s Just Not True,’ Rep Says.

Bad news for Ice Cube’s basketball league.

Despite rumors about former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick possibly investing in the BIG 3 basketball league, his representatives are clearing the air by saying, “It’s just not true.”

According to The Athletic, the statement came early on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, after the league reported that Kap’s investment would help the league stay afloat during some disappointing setbacks.

The biggest challenge Big3 faced so far was the cancelation of the 2020 playing season due to the COVID-19 pandemic that cost the lives of 835 per 100,000 people in 2020, according to a CDC report.

So severe were the death tolls, COVID-19-related deaths became the “3rd leading cause of death in 2020, with nearly 150,000 more deaths than the 4th leading cause of death, accidents, and over 250,000 fewer deaths than the 2nd leading cause of death, cancer.”

“It was tough. It was a situation where we really had to figure out what we needed to do. We knew we wouldn’t have a season. We actually worked on trying to create a bubble before the NBA. We had an idea to connect with Endemol, who does the Big Brother show, and create a Big Brother/BIG3 show. But the networks wasn’t ready. They were scrambling,” Ice Cube explained during an interview with FanNation.

Still, the 3-on-3 league founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz was hoping to get a win with a big name and banked investor.

In 2018, the league made news when the former NWA member stepped down as Commissioner. While gearing up for a spectacular future, the company hired basketball legend Clyde Drexler in that top spot.

AllHipHop.com reported that a spokesperson doted on the new appointment, saying, “As Commissioner, he will help lead the BIG3’s basketball operations as well as executing the league’s long-term strategy on all fronts.”

Over the last few months, The Big3 has made several power moves and announcements. The league revealed that Snoop Dogg and PayPal founder Ken Howery are minority owners of a team called Bivouac.

Big3 also launched a global partnership with DAZN to broadcast select games globally. The BIg3’s 5th season kicked off on June 18th.

What Is a Credit Limit?

Nearly everyone today has a credit card. In a way, they’ve become an indispensable part of our lives, thanks to their many perks, including ease of use and convenient pay-back options. However, there is a limit on how much you can spend. If you surpass this limit, you might face fines or penalties besides your regular payment. Bankers and lenders, such as Payday Depot, refer to this limit on your card as “credit limit.”

Learning how to manage your credit limit will increase your chances of securing higher credit and will improve your credit score. Here’s what you need to know about a credit limit.

What Is a Credit Limit?

A credit limit is a maximum amount a bank or lender allows you to spend on a credit card or line of credit. It’s also defined as the maximum balance individuals can have on their credit card or line of credit without getting penalized.

Every time a person uses his credit card for purchases, a certain amount gets subtracted from his credit limit. The remaining balance is referred to as available credit.

Credit card issuers and lenders determine credit limits based on several pieces of information provided by credit applicants.

Credit limits apply to both secured and unsecured credit. Secured credits are backed by collateral, which the lenders consider when determining the credit limits. Unsecured credit limits are usually in the form of credit cards and unsecured lines of credit.

Lenders, credit card issuers, and banks will issue high-risk borrowers low credit limits since there’s a high chance they won’t pay it back. Low-risk borrowers often enjoy high-credit limits.

How Can You Know Your Credit Limit?

Individuals can check their credit limits with ease via their mobile/online credit card accounts. A recent copy of their billing or credit card statement can also provide them with the limit information. Alternatively, they can call the number on the back of their credit card and request the credit limit details from the provider.

What Factors Determines Your Credit Limit?

As said earlier, lenders set credit limits based on several factors. They include:

  • Payment history
  • Current accounts
  • Account history
  • Income
  • Debt
  • Limits on other credit cards

Sometimes the type of credit card can determine your credit limit. Some credit card issuers have varying credit limits for customers based on their credit histories. Others have virtually the same limits for everyone.

What Happens If You Exceed Your Credit Limit?

Surpassing your credit limit can result in several negative consequences. You might end up paying fines or getting penalized. Also, lenders may reduce the credit limit or even close the account if an individual goes over his limit habitually.

If you have a history of exceeding your limit, the credit card issuer might increase your interest rate. This will hurt your credit score. So, it’s wise to keep track of your spending to avoid going overboard.

Conclusion

Credit cards or lines of credit make perfect tools for achieving financial flexibility. But that’s only true when individuals use them responsibly. That means knowing their credit limits and paying debts and bills on time. Remember, higher credit limits also help individuals maintain good credit scores.

Georgia Judge Denies Gunna Bond Again

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville once again denied bond for Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens. The YSL-affiliated rapper will have to remain behind bars until his trial.

Authorities charged Gunna and over two dozen individuals in a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act indictment. Authorities also arrested YSL founder Jeffery “Young Thug” Williams.

According to WSBTV, Gunna appeared in virtual court on Thursday morning. At a previous pre-trial hearing, prosecutors petitioned a judge to refuse Gunna’s bond request out of concern for witness intimidation.

“The prosecution again produced no evidence at all; instead, it chose to rely on vague and non-specific allegations and speculation through the statements of the prosecutor alone,” Gunna’s lawyer Steve Sadow told Billboard. “Gunna deserves better from our justice system.”

Gunna has maintained his innocence. On June 14, the DS4Ever album creator addressed his legal situation on social media. Part of the statement read, “For now, I don’t have my freedom. But I am innocent. I am being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name.”

Young Thug’s legal team also pushed back on the prosecution’s narrative. Attorney Brian Steel stated, “Mr. Williams has committed no violation of law, whatsoever. We will fight this case ethically, legally, and zealously. Mr. Williams will be cleared.”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis accuses Gunna, Young Thug, and the YSL label of being associated with gang activity in the Atlanta area. Willis also floated using the rap stars’ lyrics as evidence at trial.

Drake And Jeff Bezos Share Their Admiration For Each Other

One thing that Canadian rapper Drake and American businessman and founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos have in common is mutual admiration for hard work and the success it yields.

On Wednesday, July 6th, the chart-topper posted two pictures on his social media with the caption, “start somewhere.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi)

One of the photos was of Drake when he was younger, standing in front of the apartment where he used to live in Toronto. The apartment has sentimental value and professional historicity.

The 15 Fort York apartment, which is mentioned in his song “Know Yourself,” is where he and his boy Noah “40” Shebib recorded the majority of So Far Gone, his 2009 break-out mixtape.

The other picture Drake posted was a famous image of Jeff Bezos at his Amazon desk back in the day, circa 1999.

Jeff Bezos hopped in Drake’s comment section and quoted the Champagne Papi, writing, “Started from the bottom now we’re here.”

In disbelief, Drake, one of the most prominent recording artists in history, followed up with his best patois saying, “Holyyy Jeff knows about the man dem nobody can chat to me today!!! Big Bezos in the comments.”

Bezos, worth $139 billion, and Drake, sitting on a fortune estimated at $250 million, have business ties too. Both men were part of an $80 million raise for sports-media company Overtime Inc.

RIAA Names Future’s ‘I Never Liked You’ & Lil Durk’s ‘7220’ As Top Mid-Year Albums

Projects by two Hip Hop heavyweights were among the top-certified albums of 2022 so far. Future and Lil Durk earned Mid-Year Awards from the Recording Industry Association of America.

The RIAA released its report on Gold and Platinum certifications for the first half of the year. Future’s I Never Liked You and Lil Durk’s 7220 both reached Gold status.

I Never Liked You and 7220 are two of only three albums to secure Gold certification. Country singer Walker Hayes’s Country Stuff The Album also crossed the 500,000 unit threshold.

In addition, Future’s “Wait for U” featuring Drake and Tems is the only song to receive a Platinum Award from the RIAA in 2022. “Wait for U” also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Future obtained a Gold Award for his “Puffin on Zootiez” track as well. Plus, Lil Durk picked up Gold plaques for “AHHH HA” and “What Happened to Virgil” featuring Gunna.

I Never Liked You debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Future’s ninth studio LP amassed 222,000 first-week units. It is the Atlanta-bred rapper’s eighth Number One.

Lil Durk scored his first solo #1 album when 7220 opened in the Billboard 200’s top spot. The Chicago native’s 2022 body of work racked up 120,500 first-week units. Durk previously made it to No. 1, alongside Lil Baby, with The Voice of the Heroes collaborative project.

RIAA also announced Gold Awards for “City of Gods” (Fivio Foreign, Kanye West & Alicia Keys), “Rumors” (Gucci Mane), “Pushin P” (Gunna, Future & Young Thug), “Do We Have a Problem?” (Nicki Minaj & Lil Baby), and “Freaky Deaky” (Tyga & Doja Cat).

Young Thug And Associates Are So Dangerous That Judge Bars Lawyers From Divulging Witnesses’ Information

The judge overseeing the criminal case of Young Thug has asked the lawyers defending the 28 people indicted as alleged members of the Young Slime Life gang not to leak information regarding any witnesses against their clients.

According to FOX 5, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville issued the temporary order because of “numerous threats to kill or harm witnesses.”

This “history of intimidating witnesses,” the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office contends, includes a plot to kill two Atlanta police officers and threaten to cause harm to witnesses and their family members.

Brian Steel, Young Thug’s defense lawyer, says that’s not true. He also believes his client is innocent of all charges.

AllHipHop.com previously reported his client, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, his artist Gunna and 26 other associates have been indicted on RICO charges.

Some of the claims include charges of murder, and other forms of organized crime committed by artists on the YSL record label, which prosecutors maintain is a front for gang activity.

The state of Georgia is treating this case the same way the federal Department of Justice treats more traditional forms of criminal enterprises like Mafia families and drug cartels.

In Young Thug’s case, the prosecutor claims he is the co-founder of YSL. They claim to have connected him to many violent crimes committed by group members, using the rapper’s social media posts and rap lyrics.

Judge Glanville denied the chart-topper bond in June. The court also shut down a house arrest plan submitted by his legal team, believing the artist was a flight risk and a danger to society.

One might ask, how did the judge come to that assessment?

Judge Glanville cited an alleged statement Young Thug made in 2015 that is now perceived as a threat and not just banter. The Atlanta native is quoted as saying, “Anybody goes into courtroom and tells the God’s honest truth, they’ll be f###### killed.”

If Young Thug is convicted of a RICO charge, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

Will GloRilla Get Matched With Megan Thee Stallion For A “FNF” Remix?

First things first: I am hearing that there is going to be a GloRilla / Megan Thee Stallion collaboration coming soon! Are you all ready for that “FNF” remix with Megan Thee Stallion? And maybe somebody else? This is the rumor. But, it works out, because Megan has already seen her fair share of “f##k n#ggas” and so it works perfectly. I am thinking Cardi B might go in there too, but I have not exactly heard that as a rumor.

GloRilla and her crew are about to break out like never before. We’ve had a lot of female rappers come through Hip-Hop, but we have rarely seen a group of them. I believe this may change with GloRilla and her ratchet a$$ friends.

Before GloRilla struck gold with “FNF,” she was just a rapper like everybody else. But now, if you hated her, brace yourself, because she has a bunch of chicks behind her that are going to continue to push the narrative. Check this out.

I’ll find it interesting to see how it all develops because Yo Gotti signed one artist – Glo. And there were about six of them getting on that private jet. To me, this means at least one of them is going to be angry and walk away, pursuing her own career. Do you agree? I think it’s a law of averages. This ain’t the Wu-Tang Clan era where everybody sits put and waits for a deal to come up to them.

We’ll see though. Yo Gotti is throwing around a lot of money which means someone else will be throwing around a lot of money too. I’m thinking somebody is going to scoop up one of these chicks and put her on. Probably pit her against Glo and make it actionable in the commercial marketplace.

But, right now…its all good! FNF!
