De La Soul’s Catalog Is Coming To Streaming Services: “The De Is Finally Here”

After a long, contentious battle with Tommy Boy Records, De La Soul had nearly given up on ever seeing their first six albums land on DSPs. But in July 2021, independent music rights company, Reservoir Media, acquired Tommy Boy’s catalog for $100 million. Now there was hope for Posdnuos, Maseo and Dave to finally see their work available on all streaming services.

On Tuesday (January 3), De La Soul announced the “de” had arrived. The rollout for 3 Feet High and Rising (1989), De La Soul Is Dead (1991), Buhloone Mindstate (1993), Stakes Is High (1996), Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump (2000) and AOI: Bionix (2001) officially begins on March 3. The New York City-bred group celebrated the news with several Instagram posts and a giant billboard in Times Square.

As De La Soul noted in the captions, the trio has teamed up with Spotify and Amazon Music for the momentous occasion.

De La Soul has been attempting to regain control of their masters for decades. In 2019, the group launched a Tommy Boy boycott against the label as they locked horns with founder Tom Silverman. As they wrote on Instagram at the time: “Another disappointing week of contractual tug-of-war b#######. After 30 long years of exploiting, profiting and benefiting from a savory De La Soul legacy…it’s 2019. Tom [Silverman], can we get a taste too??? The #TommyBoycott continues.”

Maseo, who’s been deflated by the whole situation for years, was noticeably frustrated by the lack of progress.

“This is exposing the truth of the situation at least,” Maseo said of the boycott. “At the end of the day, we all take a hit whether we are the good guy or the bad guy in the situation. I was careful enough to say it’s not everybody. All we ask is to be fair. Look, Tom lost the catalog. And losing the catalog, I could have potentially lost my career. Between now and then, look what I’ve been able to sustain.”

He added: “There’s been a lot of pain and suffering through this. To even take care of my family, I had to tour like a mother f#####. Do you know all the things I’ve missed because of s### like this? I’m not substantially living the way as it appears to be.”

With that behind them, De La Soul is firmly focused on the future. 3 Feet High and Rising is available for pre-order on De La Soul’s website and will be available at music retailers on March 3 with remaining albums to follow. “The Magic Number” will also be available for streaming on January 13, with a 7″ and cassingle via the website. Boosie Badazz Says Do Crack, Not Fentanyl

Boosie Badazz is like the Skip Bayless of Hip Hop. He decided to offer some unsolicited advice for “drug addicts” in the aftermath of Gangsta Boo’s New Year’s Day death. The 43-year-old Memphis rap pioneer died a few hours after her brother was taken to the hospital for a fentanyl overdose on New Year’s Eve. Boosie paid his respects, but it just didn’t seem to come out right when he began to offer his recommendation for addicts.

“There’s too many people dying in 2022 of fentanyl,” he said. “If you’re gonna be an addict, you might need to go back to crack. Crackheads live longer than anybody. You still see them around! That fentanyl sh#t is way stronger. If you can’t shake it, go back to crack. You’re gonna be funnier, you’re gonna live longer.”

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioids and the result is a higher rate of addiction, overdose and death here in America. I am thinking Boosie shouldn’t say too much on the matter since we have pretty much determined fentanyl is a part of a quiet war on American citizens. Also, he’s actually advocating the use of CRACK in 2023. Remember crack and coke were pushed into urban cities all over America in an effort to KILL Black Americans and under undesired groups. Anyway.

Mekhi Phifer Shoots Down Possibility Of ‘8 Mile’ Sequel With Eminem

8 Mile essentially served as a semi-autobiographical story about the rise of Marshall “Eminem” Mathers III. The Hip Hop legend starred in the 2002 fictional drama alongside Kim Basinger, Brittany Murphy, Anthony Mackie, and Mekhi Phifer.

It has been over twenty years since 8 Mile arrived in movie theaters. TMZ recently caught up with Mekhi Phifer to gauge his interest in filming a sequel to the battle rap-themed motion picture.

“Sometimes it’s best to just leave it at one,” Mekhi Phifer told the camera person. “Sometimes it’s just best to leave it alone. Once you make a classic, no reason to fool around with it.”

The 48-year-old actor reiterated that he does not believe 8 Mile 2 will ever happen. Phifer also added, “The story that we told is the story. [A sequel] could be interesting, but I wouldn’t be in it, and I’m sure Eminem wouldn’t be in it either.”

Mekhi Phifer played a battle rap host named Future in 8 Mile. Eminem took on the lead role of aspiring rapper B-Rabbit. Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential) directed the Imagine Entertainment/Universal Pictures production.

Eminem Appeared In Other Movies Over The Last 20 Years

8 Mile grossed over $116 million at the domestic box office and $242 million at the global box office. Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003. The single also spent twelve weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to his feature film acting debut in 8 Mile, Eminem has made appearances in other movies such as The Interview and Bodied. The Detroit native also made a cameo as White Boy Rick in the 50 Cent-produced BMF television series.

Eminem achieved legendary status in the music business. He scored five #1 songs on the Hot 100 chart and ten #1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. The 15-time Grammy winner racked up 61.5 million certified RIAA units throughout his career, including three Diamond Awards (10 million units).

Mekhi Phifer’s film career includes starring roles in 1995’s Clockers, 1997’s Soul Food, 2001’s Carmen: A Hip Hopera, 2002’s Paid in Full, and 2007’s This Christmas. His television résumé features stints on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Torchwood, House of Lies, Frequency, and Love, Victor.

SZA’s ‘SOS’ Remains At No. 1 For A Third Straight Week

SOS by SZA is the first #1 album of 2023. The Top Dawg Entertainment singer’s sophomore studio LP held onto the pole position of the Billboard 200 chart for a third time overall.

SZA’s SOS remained at No. 1 by pulling in another 128,000 units in week three of its release. SOS is the first female R&B album to have an initial three-week run at the top since Beyoncé’s self-titled project in 2013.

Two weeks ago, SOS premiered at No. 1 with 318,000 first-week units. SZA’s latest musical effort set a new record for the largest streaming week (405 million streams) in music history for an R&B album.

SOS continued to lead the Billboard 200 in its second week of release with 180,000 units. Over that seven-day tracking period, the album amassed 237 million streams. The most recent tracking period included 169 million streams.

SZA dropped SOS on December 9, 2022. Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard appear on the album. SOS made the respective Best Albums of 2022 lists published by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

2017’s Ctrl introduced SZA to many members of the mainstream music audience. That TDE/RCA body of work peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. However, Ctrl went on to earn a 3x-Platinum plaque from the RIAA.

Elsewhere on this week’s Billboard 200, Metro Boomin’s former No. 1 Heroes & Villains sustained a #4 placement. Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss sits at #6 after spending one week in first place. Bad Bunny’s 13-time Billboard 200 leader Un Verano Sin Ti jumped three rungs to #7.

Video Model Accuses Shy Glizzy Of Sexual Misconduct

The #MeToo movement placed a bright spotlight on alleged sexual abuse in the entertainment industry. Five years after the hashtag spread across social media, a woman accuses Shy Glizzy of inappropriate behavior.

OnlyFans model Sky Bri recently appeared on Adam22’s No Jumper podcast. Bri recalled her experience working with Shy Glizzy on the “White Girl” music video for a $3000 payout.

“[Shy Glizzy] was, just the whole day, trying to flirt with me or pull me to the side to talk to me,” said Sky Bri. “I’m really not into him. He’s like 5’4” to start off.

Bri added, “His personality that day was just weird. He was just being sketchy. When it got dark out, he cornered me in the kitchen with his little posse and convinced me to do this pill. And I don’t know what the pill was. I said no a million times. Eventually, I was like, ‘Okay, whatever.'”

Sky Bri Claims Shy Glizzy Pulled Out His Penis In Front Of Her

During her sitdown with No Jumper, Sky Bri suggested the pill may have been molly or ecstasy. While claiming she did feel the effects of the drug, Bri stayed at the location to finish shooting the music video. The next part of her story includes blatant accusations of sexual misconduct.

“I was getting ready in my room to leave and he comes in and he pulls me onto the bed and I look down and his dick is out,” stated Bri. “And he’s like, ‘Suck it.’ And I said, ‘No.” And then he said, ‘Lick it.’ I said, ‘No.’ And he said, ‘Then you’re fine with not getting paid?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ And I just got up and went downstairs and I grabbed the director.”

According to Sky Bri, the director and the film crew assisted her in getting home. Bri went on to say that Sky Glizzy contacted her after she later posted a TikTok video joking about not receiving payment for a video shoot.

Shy Glizzy released his Whipalo-directed “White Girl” visual on December 2, 2022. The Washington, DC-raised rapper is perhaps best known for his contribution to GoldLink’s 6-time Platinum single “Crew” which also features R&B singer Brent Faiyaz.

GloRilla Pays Homage To Fellow Memphis Rapper Gangsta Boo

Lola Chantrelle Mitchell passed away on January 1, 2023. The Three 6 Mafia member, better known as Gangsta Boo, helped paved the way for contemporary rap stars such as GloRilla.

Gangsta Boo’s death rocked the Hip Hop world over the weekend. The 43-year-old southern rap legend was found dead at her home in Memphis. An official cause of death is not known at the moment.

Many celebrities reacted to the heartbreaking news about Boo. For example, fellow Memphis-bred rapper GloRilla paid tribute to the Enquiring Minds album creator on Instagram.

“I normally don’t post screenshots but the fact that she reached out to me before anybody else had a clue who I was😢,” wrote GloRilla about Gangsta Boo. “She always supported me & the girls way back before we blew up. 💯A REAL LEGEND. There will never be another Gangsta Boo 🙏🏼.”

Additionally, GloRilla shared a message exchange she had with Gangsta Boo from April 2021. One text from Boo read, “As a pioneer of Memphis female rap, I love to see this. [No one] came since me and [La Chat].”

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm5CGupJFc8/?hl=en

GloRilla exploded onto the music scene in 2022. Her “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” single with Hitkidd became a breakout hit. She also teamed up with Cardi B for “Tomorrow 2” which made it into the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10.

Gangsta Boo rose to prominence as part of the Memphis-based rap collective known as Three 6 Mafia. The group scored Top 40 entries with “Stay Fly” and “Poppin’ My Collar.” Plus, Three 6 Mafia released underground classics such as “Tear da Club Up” and “Sippin’ on Some Syrup.”

Late last year, GloRilla partnered with Atlanta’s Latto for the “FTCU” collaboration. The track also credits Gangsta Boo as a performer. “FTCU” is a modern-day version of Three 6 Mafia’s “Tear da Club Up.”

“The Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Lola ‘Gangsta Boo’ Mitchell. The family is asking for your continued prayers and privacy as we process the loss of our loved one,” reads a statement from Lola Mitchell’s mother, Veronica Mitchell.

Kai Cenat Gets Caught In The Middle Of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & Ella Bands Argument

Twitch personality Kai Cenat ended his 2022 on a high note by winning Streamer of the Year at the 12th Streamy Awards. Cenat kicks off 2023 by going viral with Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

Footage of A Boogie, his girlfriend Ella Bands, and Kai Cenat spread across the internet over the weekend. In the clip, A Boogie and Bands argue during a New Year’s event.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie heatedly walked away from Ella Bands after they exchanged words. Social media users quickly pointed out Cenat’s shocked facial expression as the couple separated that night.

Ella Bands and A Boogie wit da Hoodie have two children together. Their daughter, Melody Valentine Dubose, was born in 2017. Their son, Artist Dubose, Jr., arrived in 2020.

A Boogie and Kai Cenat recently attended a New York Knicks game together at Madison Square Garden. A video of ESPN presenting A Boogie with a Christmas hoodie at that game made the rounds on Twitter.

Last month, A Boogie wit da Hoodie released his fourth studio album Me vs. Myself. The deluxe edition features Roddy Ricch, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, G Herbo, Lil Durk, Don Q, H.E.R., and the late PnB Rock.

Me vs. Myself peaked at #6 on the weekly Billboard 200 chart. The Atlantic Records-backed LP joined an A Boogie discography that also includes 2017’s The Bigger Artist, 2018’s Hoodie SZN, and 2020’s Artist 2.0.

Westside Gunn Blasts B. Dot Over 2022 Best Rappers Snub After Appearing On ‘Rap Radar’ Podcast

Westside Gunn was left feeling a little blindsided after sitting down for a “great interview” with B. Dot Miller, only to discover the Griselda camp was left off his Top 10 Best Rappers of 2022 list.

The Buffalo native made a recent appearance on the Rap Radar podcast with B. Dot and Elliot Willson alongside Griselda’s Boldy James, Stove God Cooks, and Rome Streetz.

While the interview seemingly went well, it was filmed before Westside Gunn became aware B. Dot failed to include any Griselda artists on his 2022 best rappers list.

When iHeart Radio shared a preview clip of the podcast, the Griselda leader was quick to react.

“This was a great interview but that was some weeks ago,” Westside Gunn Tweeted. “Now it’s F### 🖕🏽@bdotTM bc he just don’t get it & I wasted 2hrs of my time 🤣😂🤣 its @GriseldaRecords ALL YEAR 🦂⚖️🐐🖼 “

While WSG blasted B. Dot, he has no problem with Elliot Wilson shouting him out and noting, “He still good he rode thru the hood w/ me in the Bach #RIPHOVAIN 🤲🏽 #GXFR”

Nonetheless a few hours later, Westside Gunn returned to Twitter to share a promo pic from the episode. However, he scribbled over B. Dot’s face and wrote “chump” above it.

Griselda fans were left stunned after B. Dot shared his list in December, claiming the list does not reflect Hip-Hop without the Buffalo collective.

“That’s only based on the opinions of that blogger but who are they fr 🤔” Gunn replied to a fan. “I bet u they look goofy even standing next to US, wat makes them truly valid why just bc they say so, them MFs ain’t nothing by dickriders for a living with cheap pay 😂😂😂”

Westside Gunn Planning Rap Retirement

Meanwhile, earlier this week, the HWH creator revealed he’s leaving the rap game, but not before he gives his fans “the best show of their lives.”

While trolling B. Dot, Westside Gunn revealed how long he plans to stick around, noting 2023 will be his “finale” year.

R. Kelly Survivor Says He Pushed Her Down The Stairs After Discovering Aaliyah Sex Tape

More allegations against R. Kelly have emerged as part of the final part of the docuseries Surviving R. Kelly: The Final Chapter

The first part of the series aired on Monday evening (Jan. 2) on Lifetime, with the second installment arriving on Jan 3. The series follows the recent trials and the aftermath of the disgraced singer’s 30-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.

One survivor recalled a harrowing incident where R. Kelly assaulted her after she discovered a sex tape featuring Aaliyah.

“I was 16 years old when I met Rob in 1993,” Ebonié Doyle shared, as per Rolling Stone. “My friends and I went to a show, and he was there with other artists, and I just remember his voice was just amazing. After the show, my girlfriend and I were waiting outside, we were ready to go to our cars, and a limousine pulls up.”

According to Doyle, the pair became close after a hotel room encounter, following which R. Kelly would wait for her outside her high school. She moved in with him after her mother kicked her out for dating the star, but he became “really controlling,” especially with “certain things sexually he liked his way.”

R. Kelly Loses It Over Aaliyah Sex Tape

Doyle described discovering a sex tape featuring R. Kelly with Aaliyah, despite his previous denials about the singer.

“That’s when I discovered that he’d been lying to me about Aaliyah,” Doyle explained.

“The tape that I put in was of him and Aaliyah together. What I saw on that tape was he and Aaliyah being intimate. They were on the tour bus, and everything that I had asked him was confirmed on the tape.”

However, she says R. Kelly caught her watching the tape, and they began arguing before he pushed her down a flight of stairs.

“That shake sent me down flights of stairs, and I just laid there. I just froze. That was the moment where I realized [how] to pick and choose my battles,” Doyle said. “Like, I loved him … I love [Kelly]. He’s still important to me. And so, he’s not some horrible man to me. And I don’t want people to think that.”

R. Kelly recently gave an interview from federal prison, stating he wanted his “voice to be heard” ahead of the docuseries. As reported by AllHipHop.com, Kelly denied his finance Joycelyn Savage had his baby and spoke on a new album that appeared recently on streaming platforms.

Buffalo Bills Confirm Damar Hamlin Suffered Cardiac Arrest, In Critical Condition

The Buffalo Bills have issued a statement after Damar Hamlin collapsed during the Bills versus Bengals game in Cincinnati. He took a hit from Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during the first quarter of the game, falling to the ground. Shortly after getting on his feet, he collapsed on the field.

Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended the rest of Monday night’s game an hour after the 24-year-old safety collapsed. Attempts were made to revive Damar Hamlin on the field before he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

“Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by team and independent medical staff and local paramedics,” the NFL shared in a statement. “Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available. The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”

The Buffalo Bills posted an update late Monday night confirming the athlete is in critical condition and undergoing further testing after suffering a cardiac arrest.

“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition,” the Bills statement read.

Fans Gather In Support Of Damar Hamlin

According to multiple reports, fans have gathered outside the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in a show of support. ESPN reporter Cole Harvey spoke to Damar Hamlin’s teammate Stefon Diggs as he attempted to enter the hospital.

“As an emotional Stefon Diggs told me: ‘This is all so messed up … we just had to be here for our teammate’,” wrote the reporter. “Diggs desperately was trying to tell the officer that he was Hamlin’s teammate and needed to be inside.”

The Cincinnati Bengals lit the Paycor Stadium in the Buffalo Bills colors in a show of support for Damar Hamlin.

This situation is developing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Damar Hamlin and his family at this time.

Bad Bunny Defends Snatching And Throwing Fan’s Phone, Says It Was “A Lack Of Respect”

Bad Bunny has responded after footage emerged of him snatching a fan’s phone from her hands and tossing it after the woman began recording him without consent.

The now-viral footage shows the Puerto Rican artist on vacation in the Dominican Republic, walking down the street while surrounded by fans. Although many fans were recording the star, one got a little too close for his liking. The woman approached Bad Bunny and walked alongside him for several seconds while filming in selfie mode.

After a few moments, Bad Bunny grabs the phone before hurling it into the air. Check out the video below.

Bad Bunny Responds

After the incident, the “T##í Me Preguntó” hitmaker took to Twitter to explain that while he “always” gives attention to his fans who approach him respectfully, he felt disrespected by the fan invading his personal space.

“The person who comes up to me to say hello, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect,” he began. “Those who come to put a phone bastard in my face I will consider it for what it is, a lack of respect and I will treat it likewise.”

However, fans on social media were divided, with some defending Bad Bunny and others saying he went too far.

“Look people this is simple,” wrote one fan. “Respect and everything goes well. Common sense. Artist or not, be aware that we are all the same. Maybe throwing away the phone wasn’t the best idea, but do you know what it’s like to have your space invaded 24/7? Much respect and love has been given to ALL OF YOU.”

However, another fan suggested that Bad Bunny overreacted and should apologize to the woman. “Your fans have put you where you are,” the fan tweeted. “You don’t know the effort that girl may have made to acquire her phone. She looked cheerful because she was going to take a selfie with you and you scorned her. You turned off a light and that was ugly on you. The girl at least deserves an apology.

Is OutKast Mounting A Comeback?

The world is better with OutKast music. I am not sure what is going on, but I am getting the impression that the combination of Big Boi and Andre 3000 are working on something. I do not know what, but I am hoping that they are coming back.

What has started these rumors? The duo started them with a recent social media post. Check this out.

Apollo Lofton Waited 2 Hours To Play Drake Music… & Got A Follow Back!

Apollo Lofton waited over two hours to play Drake his music…and let’s just say he got the job done. Without disclosing how he knew of Drake’s whereabouts, the Miami native patiently waited until Drake was exiting the premises to his vehicle, only to be blasting his own freestyle over Drake’s beat. The result? A follow from the biggest artist in the world.

In describing himself, Apollo Lofton states he’s “an artist. A creative. Nothing more than a man trying to use the cards dealt to him to make it out.”

The rising star prides himself in his lyricism and wordplay, describing his sound as “authentic” and “real.” As a product of this current generation, Apollo wears his heart on his sleeve, capturing thoughts, feelings, and emotions we all can relate to on a human level. Not to mention his records reignite the passion and excitement that came equipped with hip-hop during the golden era.

On the music tip, Apollo Lofton just unveiled his newest project titled CHAOS IS NECESSARY, catching the attention of everyone inside and outside the music industry.

AllHipHop spoke with Apollo Lofton to discuss his background, top 5, how he got Drake’s attention, and more!

AllHipHop: You’re from Miami, how does that play into your life and career?

Apollo Lofton: In a major way. Miami taught me at an early age to peep game more than you usually do, very aware of your surroundings. Which then applies to the game I’m moving in now where I have to always be on point.

AllHipHop: Top 5 artists all-time?

Apollo Lofton: Difficult question for somebody like me but I’ll try. Straight rap? Hov, Nas, Dot, Cole, and Pac.

AllHipHop: When did you start getting traction with your music career?

Apollo Lofton: I knew I had something special when I kept getting good reactions, as well as the opportunities that landed outta nowhere, like having that connection with Drake. Things like that don’t just happen so when they do, I tend to think it’s a sign from something greater than me.

AllHipHop: What was the inspiration behind your name?

Apollo Lofton: Apollo came from the Apollo Theater in New York and Lofton came from Google. [laughs] I needed a last name and Lofton rolled off the tongue the best.

AllHipHop: One thing you want fans to get from Chaos Is Necessary?

Apollo Lofton: Inspiration. Use it as U please.

AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?

Apollo Lofton: Resilience. I never folded and kept pushing all the way through, even when it was easier to just give up. I took the punches and kept it 1000.

AllHipHop: Talk about Drake co-signing you in Miami, give us the play by play.

Apollo Lofton: God’s plan. It was straight hip hop.. I went up to one of my favorite artists and started rapping one of my songs, that just so happened to be a freestyle over his “No Friends In The Industry” beat. I think he recognized the preparation and hunger. We chopped it up after the cameras were put down and he showed me love. He ain’t have to do that and the fact he did further proves all the stories we hear about them being a caring and giving dude. He’s that and more, been following me on the Gram since. Giving me access to the biggest artist is something I don’t take for granted.

AllHipHop: How was it meeting with Estefan?

Apollo Lofton: Life-changing. I feel like he saw something in me.. and started giving me as much advice and game he can possibly give me in the span of 4 to 5 hours.

AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?

Apollo Lofton: Candles, water, and a beat back from 9th Wonder. Ha! Soon.

AllHipHop: Goals for yourself as an artist at this point of your career?

Apollo Lofton: Be an ill performer. Sing better. Continue developing a solid base of supporters.

AllHipHop: What can we expect next?

Apollo Lofton: Hustle. Nothing in life is certain except death and the fact Apollo Lofton gon’ do whatever it takes to get it. By any means necessary. Believe me when I say that, like U believe in God.

Drake Arrest In Sweden: The Truth Is Revealed on Instagram

Canadian rapper Drake has seemingly confirmed reports of his arrest in Sweden last July after sharing a video on Instagram.

The eight-second clip shows Drake being handcuffed and taken to a police car by two cops. Members of his crew can also be seen walking alongside him.

Speculation about Drake’s arrest began circulating on social media in July 2022, with the hashtag #FreeDrake trending on Twitter. At the time, representatives for the rapper denied that he had been arrested, stating that he was simply in his hotel and not a police station.

Huffington Post journalist Phillip Lewis took to Twitter and said the speculation was false.

“FYI: I talked to Swedish police and they told me Drake is not currently in their custody. (That was the only info they would give),” he wrote.

Lewis also confirmed, “From Drake’s team: “Drake is at his hotel and has not been arrested.”

However, Drake later hinted that the arrest did, in fact, take place when he shared a photo on Instagram of a document from the Swedish National Police Board.

In his latest post, Drake has seemingly confirmed the incident once and for all. Alongside the video of his arrest, he shared a photo of himself and collaborator 21 Savage, as well as a caption that reads:

“The funds are useful/The lyrics are truthful/The suspects are usual/The opps are delusional/The finish line is beautiful/And the disrespect is mutual/ See you in 23.”

It is still unclear what specific charges Drake is facing concerning the arrest.

However, reports have suggested that the arrest may have been related to marijuana-related offenses while Drake was partying at a club in Stockholm.

Blueface Baltimore Battle Royale: Rapper Brags After Insane Fight Leaves A Man Unconscious

Over the weekend, rapper Blueface was involved in a wild and chaotic fight in Baltimore.

According to footage that hit Twitter, the fight occurred after Blueface attended a party at a local club with his girlfriend, Chrisean Rock.

The altercation quickly escalated, involving dozens of people and even two armed officers who could not stop the chaos.

The fight with men and women involved (including one seemingly in her panties) spanned several blocks and ended with one man in a yellow shirt knocked out.

Blueface confirmed the brawl and bragged about the incident on his Instagram stories, posting a screenshot of the man knocked out with the caption, “he sleepy.”

This news comes just a few days after Chrisean Rock’s brother, Mookie, was arrested for attempted murder, adding to the already troubled situation.

Blueface has had a tumultuous few months. He was arrested for attempted murder in July for an incident that took place in October.

Footage of that incident has also surfaced, allegedly showing Blueface drawing out a gun and firing shots at a driver who confronted him outside a Las Vegas club.

According to sources, Blueface’s crew got into an altercation with the driver inside the club, leading to the confrontation in the video.

Las Vegas police arrested Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, and charged him with attempted murder and other felony charges.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and is currently out on bail. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for January 24, 2023.

Gangsta Boo’s Cause Of Death Believed To Be Drug Overdose

Gangsta Boo died on Sunday (January 1) following a concert in her hometown of Memphis. Her body was reportedly found on her front porch around 4 p.m. local time. Anyone familiar with the Three 6 Mafia legend’s career is likely aware she struggled with substance abuse. Sources close to Gangsta Boo tell AllHipHop they are emphatic she died from a drug overdose. TMZ‘s latest update only fuels the fire.

According to the publication, Gangsta Boo attended the concert with her brother on Saturday night (December 31) to celebrate New Year’s Eve. He was later taken to the hospital after suffering an overdose himself. Although he ultimately recovered, the party appeared to continue at Gangsta Boo’s residence. Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Have Made A Rule About North’s Social Media Use

Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband Kanye West have made a rule for their nine-year-old daughter North’s social media usage.

The “Stronger” rapper publicly aired his grievances about North being on TikTok “against (his) will” earlier this year, and Kim responded by insisting that North, the eldest of their four children, was always supervised by an adult.

In a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow on The goop Podcast, Kim revealed that she and Kanye have a rule about North’s social media presence.

“I have made a rule with their dad about it, you know, he’s not happy about that, I respect that,” she shared. “It can only be on my own phone. It’s not something where she can scroll and look at things… We don’t do comments.”

The 42-year-old revealed that she sees their joint TikTok account, which has almost 12 million followers, as North’s “creative outlet” because it gives her a platform to create mini-movies and show off her talent for special effects make-up.

“I take it as more of a creative thing, as long as it’s age appropriate and they’re having fun. It’s so annoying because I just won’t have my phone for so long because she’ll take it and be doing that,” Kim noted. “It’s something they (North and her friends) love to do and as long as they’re monitored, I’m OK with that.”

The SKIMS founder also told Gwyneth that North briefly ran an Instagram account for their dogs but it didn’t work out.

“That wasn’t working for me. I was like, ‘This is just too much access’ so that only lasted like two days,” she added.

Later in the discussion, Kim revealed that she and North make a quick TikTok video every morning before breakfast.

Kim and Kanye finalized their divorce in November.

Kim Kardashian Admits Kanye West Marriage Felt Like Her First “Real” Union

Kim Kardashian has admitted her marriage to her third husband, Kanye West, felt like her first “real” union.

During a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow on The goop Podcast on Tuesday, the reality star revealed her marriages to Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries didn’t feel as real as her union with Kanye.

“I feel, honestly, my last marriage was my first real (one),” she explained. “The first one, I just don’t know what was happening. The second one, I felt like I wanted to be married so badly because all my friends were at that place and that’s where I should have been and I didn’t accept that that just wasn’t where I was.”

Kim, whose divorce from Kanye was finalized in November, told Gwyneth that she is in no rush to find a new partner but is open to the idea of getting married for the fourth time.

“I have this fantasy in my head like fourth time’s a charm, it’s gonna work out,” she shared. “Now I feel like I will definitely take my time. I would be okay (with) a forever partnership as well. I think I would definitely want a marriage, but I’m so happy to take my time.

“I really do want to be single for a few years. I’m on a good solo mission right now. I have either sisters or friends (who are) all in the same place, and that feels so good, and fun, and I’m going to soak up every minute of it.”

The actress then asked Kim if she feels done having more children and the SKIMS founder declined to rule out the idea.

“So I do (feel like having kids is behind me),” she replied. “I just don’t want to ever say… never say never. I’m at the, obviously, right at the end of that conversation. I said I would have to have someone in my life for a while in order to make that decision, so whatever’s meant to be will be.”

Kim and Kanye share four children; North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three.

Gangsta Boo Reportedly Dead At 43

Gangsta Boo, pioneering Memphis rapper and a member of Three 6 Mafia, has reportedly passed away. Fellow Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul shared a photo of Gangsta Boo to his Instagram account, confirming she died on Sunday (January 1). Rumors circulating online suggest she was found deceased on her porch, but no cause of death has been confirmed. Early reports from Fox13 Memphis state her body was found around 4 p.m. local time. She was 43.

DJ Paul didn’t write anything in his caption. Instead, he simply shared a photo of Gangsta Boo doing what she loved to do most—music. Gangsta Boo recently starred alongside her former boyfriend Emmett on the show Marriage Boot Camp: The Hip Hop Edition. She also collaborated with Run The Jewels on the song “walking in the snow” from the duo’s highly anticipated album, RTJ4 (2020).

Gangsta Boo struggled with substance abuse throughout her career, something that was addressed during her appearance on Marriage Boot Camp. In an episode aired in May 2022, therapist Dr. Ish confronted Gangsta Boo and Emmett about a white powder allegedly discovered in their room.

Gangsta Boo was visibly upset and denied knowing what the substance was, but Dr. Ish encouraged her to get help if she was struggling. After the episode aired, Gangsta Boo called out Dr. Ish via Instagram and suggested he took the wrong approach when broaching the topic.

“You would think that someone like @drish would have a better choice of delivery, when he is trying to be all ‘professional,’” she wrote in the since-deleted post. “Not sure if he just a TV ‘Dr’ when the cameras are on or in real life when they are off.

“This is #mentalhealthawareness month so if you care so much about ppl health, with SO much ‘concern and sincerity,’ why did YOU noticeably allow ppl to be on prescription meds while drinking alcohol in front of you?? Everything was on camera. Don’t pretend like you didn’t know.”

Tributes are pouring in on social media from people who are absolutely floored by the news. AllHipHop reached out to the Memphis Police Department who said: “Victim information will be released once the victim has been identified and NOK notifications have been made. This is an ongoing investigation.”

Serena Williams Struggling To ‘Relax’ After Retiring From Tennis Three Months Ago

Serena Williams is finding it hard to relax following her retirement from tennis.

The former tennis star took to Twitter with an update on her retirement from the game after quitting three months ago.

“I’m currently allowing myself to be tired. Allowing myself to relax. Allowing myself to just be. It’s harder than I ever imagined,” she wrote. “I’ve never allowed myself to do any of that before.”

Serena announced her retirement from tennis in a Vogue essay in August, ahead of the US Open.

“I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn’t feel like a modern word to me,” she wrote at the time. “I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people. Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution.”
