Did You Know Chrisean Rock Was A Star Athlete?

She could’ve been running with Sha’Carri Richardson and Olympic champions like Alyssa Felix. Instead, she’s usually drunk, running behind Blueface.

Before the colorful hair, Blueface tattoos, and long nails wrapped around Hennessy bottles, Chrisean Rock (Malone) was a track star. Notably, she was highlighted in Baltimore WBFF’s “Maryland Moment” segment in July 2020.

In the words of photojournalist Ben Worsley, “the college athlete overcame a lot of adversity to get to where she is now.”

Somehow where she is now leaves us wondering what the hell happened to that girl.

Affectionately known as “Seany,” the Baltimore native is the 11th born of her parent’s 12 children. She recalls growing up in cramped spaces all across Baltimore City as her dad was in and out of jail most of her life.

Her mother worked to support the family before struggling with drug addiction. What started as a temporary situation became nine years of homelessness.

But Chrisean’s talent helped her escape a harsh reality. With the continued support of friends and coaches, she eventually found peace within the lines of the track at Santa Monica College in California.

Her older sister Tesehki Malone spoke highly of her little sis saying, “Chrisean on the track is a beast.”

You can tell Chrisean is a fierce competitor and her fiery attitude stems from a difficult life.

However, if her talent propelled her to be among the best in conference races during college while also winning $10,000 playing Ultimate Tag, why can’t she leave Blueface behind?

UK Police Targeted Rappers In Hip-Hop Record Store Undercover Sting Operation

A former North London record store specializing in rap music was the hub of an undercover sting operation staffed by cops, according to a new investigation.

In a new in-depth report, Vice details how the half-a-million-pound “Operation Peyzac,” aimed to target gun crime and increasing violence in the local area.

According to prosecutor Heidi Stonecliffe QC, 35 mostly Black men aged between 16 and 41, were convicted in the sting for offenses including trafficking guns and drugs. In 2016, Daily Mail reported 37 alleged “armed criminals and drug dealers” were put behind bars for a total of 400 years in the sting.

“The undercover officers sought to portray themselves as having unspecified criminal links in order to infiltrate relevant persons to gather evidence on their levels of criminality,” Abbas Nawrozzadeh, a senior consultant solicitor at Eldwick Law, told Vice: “This was one of the largest undercover operations in London in recent years.”

Nawrozzadeh worked on the defense of a 19-year-old Black man caught up in the sting.

“Our client, like many of the other defendants, looked up to the undercover officers as ‘olders,’” Nawrozzadeh said. They saw these elders as “experienced and credentialed,” with the ability and connections “to make them famous.”

He explained: “The defence case was that the undercover officers entrapped the defendant to commit these offences under inducement and threats. It was submitted on behalf of the defence that the defendant was entrapped into committing offences he would otherwise, but for their actions, not have committed.”

Stonecliffe notes the Undercover officers deployed in “Operation Peyzac” were “probably the finest,” she has ever worked with.

Former Cop Says Undercover Policing Must be Ethical

Former Merseyside Police Detective Superintendent Richard Carr said undercover policing can be “effective” if done ethically.

“I think that undercover policing has got a vital part to play in policing,” Carr said. But it’s got to be done ethically and proportionally. You’ve got to play by the rules. It all needs to be authorized. Some of these may be innocent people who have been entrapped. And I don’t know whether that’s the case [here], but what it doesn’t mean is that undercover policing is ineffective.”

Saweetie Declares Women Are Running Hip Hop In 2022

California-based recording artist Saweetie released The Single Life on November 18. As part of her media run to promote the EP, the Warner recording artist addressed the current state of female rap.

Saweetie recently sat down with The Bootleg Kev Podcast. The show included the 29-year-old entertainer discussing the difference, in her view, between current music created by men in Hip Hop and women in Hip Hop.

“It just goes to show that this is the reason why women [are] running rap and Hip Hop,” Saweetie told Bootleg Kev. “Because there’s just so much violence and disrespect in the male music.”

The “My Type” hitmaker added, “Remember when YG, Tyga, Chris [Brown] was out? Big Sean… TeeFLii, it was fun, party music. It wasn’t like, ‘I’m gonna do this to you.’ I feel like we gotta raise the vibration with the music and get back to having a good time.”

Saweetie Joins A Prominent List Of Women Who Presented Projects This Year

In addition to Saweetie dropping The Single Life, music fans also got other female rap releases like 777 by Latto, Traumazine by Megan Thee Stallion, and Anyways, Life’s Great… by GloRilla in 2022. Doja Cat also continued her rise as a mainstream act by winning her first Grammy Award in April.

Nicki Minaj earned her first solo Billboard Hot 100 #1 single this year with the “Super Freaky Girl” track. Latto’s “Big Energy” found Billboard chart success and industry award recognition. GloRilla and Cardi B’s “Tomorrow 2” made it into the Hot 100’s Top 10.

However, there has also been a lot of tension among female rappers over the last several months. Cardi B clashed with JT of the City Girls. Nicki Minaj and Latto were involved in a heated back-and-forth. Some observers also accused Minaj of throwing shade at Megan Thee Stallion on her Queen Radio show in September.

Summer Walker Releases “Sense Dat God Gave You” Rap Song [VIDEO]

R&B vocalist Summer Walker decided to try her hand at rapping.

On Tuesday, Walker dropped a music video for “Sense Dat God Gave You” with Sexyy Red. The visuals feature both women rhyming inside and outside a gas station.

Sexyy Red is best known for her own singles such as “Don’t Get Beat” and “Born By The River” featuring Sukihana. The St. Louis native’s 8-track Ghetto Superstar project landed on DSPs in December 2021.

“I’m NOT a rapper lmao I just wanted to do hood rat stuff with my friend🤸🏽‍♂️,” wrote Summer Walker on Twitter. That tweet collected more than 10,000 retweets and 49,000 likes.

Summer Walker also made headlines in recent days after the Georgia native reacted to the Recording Academy not nominating her for a single Grammy Award for the 2023 edition of the ceremony.

“As for the Grammys for a [second] time, the math is literally not matching,” wrote Summer Walker on Instagram. “I was [going to] post some numbers but it’s ok, at least the streets [f###] with me. Y’all always pack out every show and support every time I drop so thanks for the love I do receive.”

The Love Renaissance (LVRN) recording artist released the critically acclaimed Still Over It in November 2021. Still Over It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 166,000 first-week units. The project became the first R&B album by a female act to reach the top of the chart since Beyoncé’s Lemonade in 2016.

Did City Girls Member JT Announce Break Up From Lil Uzi Vert?

Going by a one-word tweet, it seems JT is no longer romantically involved with Lil Uzi Vert.

“SINGLE!” tweeted JT of the City Girls at 9:38 pm ET on Thursday. The Hip Hop couple reportedly began dating in 2019. Lil Uzi Vert split from his longtime girlfriend Brittany Byrd three years prior.

Back in March of 2021, Uzi professed his love for the Miami, Florida native. JT offered her own love confession in August of this year by calling Uzi a “dream come true” in an Instagram post celebrating his birthday.

https://twitter.com/ThegirlJT/status/1595245455021162496?s=20&t=3cUmNwez-YJ2GSmnBmBRmA

Over the course of their public relationship, JT also supported Lil Uzi Vert when the Eternal Atake album creator changed their pronouns to they/them. The “Act Up” hitmaker corrected herself after referring to Uzi as a “he” in a tweet.

Last month, JT also defended her boyfriend as a “Black rockstar” when online critics slammed Lil Uzi Vert for getting a belly button piercing. If the two rhymers have parted ways, the breakup comes around two months after PopSugar ran an article where JT praised Uzi for helping her grow as an individual.

“It made me a much better person,” said JT at the time about her relationship with Lil Uzi Vert. “I feel like I found my home with him, my safe space. Once you find your safe space, you know.”

Meek Mill Defends Saying Thanksgiving Is “Fake”

Many families in the United States will come together for Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow (November 24). However, it appears Philadelphia-bred artist Meek Mill is not a fan of the holiday taking place on Thursday.

Earlier this week, someone on Twitter asked Meek to share his plans for Thanksgiving. The 35-year-old rap star responded by mentioning the treatment of Native people at the hands of European colonizers.

“Thanksgiving [is] fake… The Pilgrims killed the Indians. I still remember them books from school, horrible. I got Indian friends… My family might link up!” tweeted Meek Mill on November 21.

Meek Mill Uses A YelloPain Song To Help Make His Point

Apparently, Meek Mill’s comments upset some social media users. He returned to Twitter on Tuesday to add more context to his thoughts on Thanksgiving. Meek shared a link to an Instagram post about “Happy Thanksgiving (How Dare We Celebrate Thanksgiving)” by YelloPain.

“This song is not about Pilgrims and Indians meeting each other and feasting for suppеr. This is about millions of Indians murdered and villages burning and bleeding for nothing,” raps YelloPain in the song. “This is about all my dеscendants from Africa happy and acting like we ain’t disgusted.”

YelloPain’s “Happy Thanksgiving” music video has amassed more than 1.1 million YouTube views since premiering on November 24, 2021. The Dayton, Ohio native also has other popular visuals on the site such as “Graduation” and “Last Time.”

Meek Wants To Know If His Critics Got Any Money This Week

Meek Mill’s tweet about YelloPain also included him writing, “This what I was trying to say about Thanksgiving… I was just with some people from London, they don’t even celebrate that s### lol. I never thought about if they did either🤔.”

Another Twitter user quote-tweeted Meek and essentially pointed out that English citizens would not observe American Thanksgiving. The Flamerz 5 mixtape creator fired back at the person by focusing on his own wealth.

“Why you so passionate about my thoughts… you get any money this week? Are you eating off your education. Who are you and why you on my d#%k like this? lol. I be crushing this life. Chill bro, I feed families trees you not on my level… This the vibes now [the f###] lol goofy,” tweeted Meek.

Shaun King Slams Kanye West For Working With Right-Winger Milo Yiannopoulos

Social justice activist Shaun King once again blasts Kanye “Ye” West. The Morehouse College graduate took issue with West teaming up with alt-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos.

According to reports, Kanye West plans to run for President of the United States in 2024. After a failed White House bid in 2020, West decided to work with Milo Yiannopoulos on his next campaign.

Shaun King reacted to the news of the Kanye West/Milo Yiannopoulos political partnership on Instagram. The Real Justice PAC founder posted a lengthy caption blasting Ye for aligning with an alleged white nationalist.

“The man that Kanye is with right here, Milo Yiannopoulos, is not only one of the most poisonous bigots in the world, he has directly caused tremendous harm to my entire family,” wrote King on the social media app.

King added, “[Yiannopoulos] is literally banned from every single social media platform for his overt white supremacy and harassment of Black people.⁣ After literally bragging about pedophilia and saying that he approved of it between men and boys, he was not just forced out of Breitbart, he had a book deal and more canceled.”

Shaun King Calls Kanye West A “Black White Supremacist”

Both Twitter and Facebook banned Milo Yiannopoulos from their respective platforms for harassment and promoting hate. Yiannopoulos also face significant backlash after suggesting sexual relationships between 13-year-old boys and adult men could be consensual.

“THIS IS WHO KANYE SPENDS TIME WITH. Kanye is a Black white supremacist. Don’t tell me s### about Kanye being righteous or some 3D chess-playing freedom fighter,” argued Shaun King in his Instagram post.

King concluded, “He’s none of those things. He’s a Black white supremacist.⁣ He attacked the family of George Floyd.⁣ He wore a White Lives Matter shirt. ⁣He literally brags about his admiration of Hitler. ⁣And he spends time with some of the worst people on the planet.”

Earlier this year, Shaun King called out Kanye West for allegedly harassing his estranged wife Kim Kardashian West. That Instagram post included King claiming West crossed the line into abuse. Plus, he compared Ye’s behavior to former President Donald Trump.

Ice Cube Confirms Losing $9 Million Hollywood Move Over Covid Jab

Ice Cube claims his decision to forgo the COVID-19 vaccine cost him a fortune, missing out on a $9 million film.

The West Coast icon was slated to appear in the Jack Black comedy film Oh Hell No, but in Oct. 2021, reports surfaced claiming Ice Cube was dropped from the cast. The film was shot in Hawaii, and Sony reportedly required all cast members to be vaccinated before participating in the shoot.

During an interview, Ice Cube confirmed reports at the time that suggested he backed out of the film over his refusal to take the vaccine. He confirmed rejecting the movie “because I didn’t want to get the m############ jab.”

“I turned down $9m,” Ice Cube told Gillie and Wallo on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. “I didn’t want to get the jab. F### that jab. F### ya’ll for trying to make me get it.”

However, Ice Cube says he “didn’t turn down” the film before clarifying: “Those m############ didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot. I didn’t turn it down.”

Furthermore, Ice Cube said he felt he didn’t need the vaccine, pointing to his never contracting coronavirus during the pandemic.

“They just wouldn’t give it to me,” Cube continued, referring to the movie. “The covid shot, the jab…I didn’t need it. I didn’t catch that s### at all. Nothing. F### them. I didn’t need that s###.”

Nonetheless, Ice Cube is unsure how Hollywood will react to his decision not to take the Covid vaccine. “I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now,” before adding, “That’s Hollywood though. They’re on some s###. But me too – I’m on some s###, too.”

Saweetie Claps Back After Joe Budden Called Her Out For Alleged Quavo Bars

Saweetie has seemingly responded to Joe Budden after the rapper-turned-podcaster suggested her recent “Don’t Say Nothin’” freestyle was inappropriate in light of the tragic passing of Migos rapper Takeoff.

The Bay Area native dropped her new EP The Single Life, last week (Nov. 18), and fans immediately began discussing “Don’t Say Nothin.’” Saweetie acknowledges the gossip surrounding her love life on the track.

After her highly publicized breakup with Quavo, rumors surfaced that she was dating Lil Baby. Some listeners found the track distasteful, suggesting Saweetie should have delayed the album while the culture is mourning Takeoff.

Meanwhile, Joe Budden added his voice to the mix. “Saweetie gotta shut the f### up,” he said during the latest episode of his podcast.

“Did you f### Offset or not” he questioned, referring to Internet gossip suggesting Saweetie slept with Cardi B’s husband. When his co-host pointed out Budden’s “bad timing,” he launched into a rant.

“It was bad timing for whatever she was saying in that freestyle,” Joe Budden said of Saweetie’s new song. “It ain’t the time for your freestyle. Because what I heard, I honestly didn’t really hear nothin’ directed to Quavo. Like, I just keep hearing Lil Baby and I think people keep confusing it with Quavo like they did last time.”

He continued, “But, either way, it ain’t the time for confusion. It ain’t the time for none of that after they just lost they brother and nephew. It ain’t time for that. Sorry, Saweetie. Push it back. You been quiet. No need to come shake the table now.”  Check out his Saweetie comments in the clip below and the episode of The Joe Budden Podcast at the end of the page.

Joe Budden Calls Out Saweetie

On Tuesday, the “Best Friend” rapper took to social media with an apparent response to Joe Budden: “saweetie needs to S###????? ok joelisha 😍,” she tweeted. She later added, “Is misogynistic behavior normal for HIP HOP culture now? 🤔 guess so 🤷🏽‍♀️” Check out her tweets below.

Kanye West Used Explicit Photos of Kim Kardashian, P###, & Bullying To Break Down Yeezy Employees, Say Former Staffers

Former Yeezy staffers say Kanye West used “cult-like” intimidation tactics, including playing p### during meetings to break down his team.

Kanye West is accused of operating a “cult-like” working environment where staffers would be routinely exposed to p###, including Ye’s own sex tapes and even explicit images of Kim Kardashian as an “intimidation” tactic. Adidas executives were allegedly aware of Ye’s antics. However employees say they turned a blind eye because of the billions of dollars the Yeezy brand generated.

In an open letter viewed by Rolling Stone, staff accuse Ye of a pattern of inappropriate oversexualized behavior that Adidas management accepted with the unwritten rule “Kanye is just Kanye.”

Such actions include Ye showing employees p### on his laptop during meetings and repeatedly expressing his desire to design shoes he would “literally want to f###.”

Kanye West Exposed Explicit Pics & Video Of Kim Kardashian

In a 2018 job interview, Kanye West allegedly showed a prospective employee an intimate photo of Kim Kardashian. “My wife just sent me this,” he said, displaying a “very revealing and personal” image on his phone. He is also said to have shown explicit video of Kardashian to members of the creative team at Yeezy.

One former Yeezy employee said of Kanye West’s antics, “seeing it within a larger pattern, I feel it was a tactic to break a person down and establish their unwavering allegiance to him, testing and destroying people’s boundaries.”

One staffer said Ye’s domineering tactic did not appear gender-based but felt “reminiscent of an emotional abuser.”

During a job interview with a female senior footwear designer, Ye interrupted her presentation with a word of advice. “If you ever get stuck creatively, just watch p### for 10 minutes,” he told the interviewee. One former employee said he’s heard Kanye West make the same statement more than once.

“If you’re gonna be part of Yeezy, we say crazy s### here. You gotta stick with it. We keep moving, and we keep creating,” Kanye West allegedly told her after she tried to return to her speech.

The open letter, sent to the Adidas board on Tuesday (Nov. 22), calls for a review and a public apology to the Yeezy team over “Kanye’s terrorizing behavior.”

“As much as we all would love to solely blame Kanye,” the letter states, “the undeniable truth is that the Adidas executive team and the board have been huge enablers.”

Kanye West Asks Donald Trump To Be His Running Mate In 2024 Election

Kanye West wants to run for president with Donald Trump alongside him as his running mate.

This weekend, the rapper turned fashion designer declared his intention to run for president in 2024. Ye also revealed controversial alt-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulo is set to work on his campaign.

The former editor of Breitbart, Milo has been criticized for his association with various neo-N### and antisemitic figures. He has also been condemned over his stances on Islam, feminism, and the LGBTQ+.

Despite the backlash to his 2024 run and the backlash over his many recent antisemitic and anti-Black statements, Kanye West is forging ahead, and has now decided upon a running mate.

The G.O.O.D. Music founder took to Twitter late Tuesday night, announcing he had met with the former president, who was his opponent during his failed 2020 presidential campaign.

“First time at Mar-a-Lago,” Kanye West wrote, claiming he met Donald Trump at his Miami estate. He continued noting there was “Rain and traffic,” before admitting, “Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting.”

After confessing he turned up to their meeting wearing jeans, “yikes,” Kanye made an interesting revelation.

“What you guys think his response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?” he asked, posting a poll. The options were “That’s very Ye,” and “That’s very Nay.”

https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/1595268383020384256?s=20&t=4eptte9nYO2NvgBW8z3EnQ

While Donald Trump is yet to respond to Kanye West, he has announced his own intention to run in the 2024 election. He aims to become only the second commander-in-chief ever elected to two non-consecutive terms.

Lil Durk’s ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Server Forced To Shut Down Amid Ban On Crypto & NFTs

Lil Durk’s OTF Gaming ceased operations of its Grand Theft Auto roleplay server “The Trenches” at the behest of Rockstar Games.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, cracked down on the use of cryptocurrency and NFTs within Grand Theft Auto. Lil Durk’s OTF Gaming received a legal warning and took down “The Trenches” server.

“We have no choice but to comply with their demands as we intend to do right by Take-Two and Rockstar,” OTF Gaming said in a statement. “We will be working with them to find an amicable solution to this matter.”

Last week, Rockstar Games and Take-Two instituted a ban on crypto and NFTs in Grand Theft Auto roleplay servers. Lil Durk previously partnered with Exceed Talent Capital to sell NFTs and loot boxes for his roleplay server. The “Trenches All-Access Pass” offered fans immediate access to the server and loot boxes – for a price.

Take-Two’s policy prohibits servers like Lil Durk’s from engaging in “commercial exploitation, including the sale of ‘loot boxes’ for real-world currency or its in-game equivalent.” It also outlaws “the sale of virtual currencies, generating revenue via corporate sponsorships or in-game integrations, or the use of cryptocurrencies or crypto assets (e.g. NFTs).”

Xzibit In Disbelief After Someone Put Tracking Device On His Car

Someone is apparently trying to keep tabs on Xzibit.

The platinum-selling rapper discovered a tracking device on his car on Monday (November 21). Xzibit issued a warning to the culprit in an Instagram post, which included a photo of the device.

“So….whoever thought it was a good idea to put a f###### AirTag on my car and track me, I found this s###,” he wrote on Instagram. “And now I’m tracing back from the serial number on the device to find YOUR stupid ass.”

He added, “I don’t know what your intentions were, but trust me you would have been on the working end. Be careful out here guys, these people are getting bold. Unbelievable. #Dangerous #becareful.”

Xzibit found the AirTag on his ride while he continues to battle his ex-wife over money in their divorce. The West Coast artist’s estranged wife Krista Joiner recently sued him for allegedly breaking a deal to provide lifetime spousal support.

Joiner claimed the two had an oral agreement, which granted her financial support even if the couple’s relationship ended.

Xzibit wants his ex to find a job to partially support herself. He asked the judge presiding over their case to order a vocational evaluation for Joiner.

Kanye West Thankful For Losing Billions; Says Adidas Will Have Bad Thanksgiving & Christmas

Kanye West tried to put a positive spin on losing his billionaire status while speaking to the paparazzi.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, Kanye West claimed he’s glad multiple brands severed ties with him due to his antisemitism. ‘Ye also believed Adidas will have a bad holiday season.

“All of the things that got taken away from me, I’m so thankful for that because I get to serve God better,” he said. “So, going into Thanksgiving, I know the people at Adidas are not gonna have the best Thanksgiving. I know that they’re not gonna have the best Christmas. But if in any way I can indemnify what they’ve done – even though they took that IP. They hired lawyers to sign it over. I promise everyone out there, those designs, they still good by me.”

Kanye West knew some of his fans planned to boycott Adidas, but he offered an olive branch of sorts. ‘Ye gave his stamp of approval to any rebranded Yeezy designs the company plans to release.

“So, I’m telling you, this Christmas, this Thanksgiving, whatever Adidas wants to drop – and you know that was a design that we put in – those are good by me,” he said. “And hopefully, this can heal some of the bleeding … I know that this will never happen again in history. There will never be a situation where people end a multi-billion dollar deal off of a tweet.”

Last month, Adidas ended its partnership with Kanye West over his antisemitic remarks. The company announced it is “the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colorways under the partnership.”

Dame Dash & Lucien Watson Talk ‘Stoned,’ Cannabis Space, Advice For Entrepreneurs, Biggie & Pimp C

Entertainment mogul Dame Dash has made it clear that he’d like ‘Stoned’ to go down in history as another great stoner flick! He envisions viewers filing it with movies such as ‘Half Baked,’ ‘How High,’ etc.

The film stars Lucien Watson who happens to be a former bandmate of Kanye West, as the two friends were both members of the group State of Mind.

Dame and Lucien connected at Kanye’s Wyoming ranch, and the rest was history.

Captivated by Lucien’s hilarious nature and comedic talent, Dame decided to immediately cast Lucien for the role after Lucien entertained Ye, Dame and other celebrities at dinner. Dame says it’s hard to make him laugh, but Lucien did exactly that!

‘Stoned’ is the perfect fit for today’s audience with the amount of cannabis consumers and as marijuana continues to be legalized for recreational use in several states.

Although ‘Stoned’ is a comedy, the film also provides insight into the cannabis culture as both Lucien and Dame are also passionate about Black people getting into the cannabis space.

‘Stoned’ is out now and available on Tubi, Peacock and the Dame Dash network!

AllHipHop’s Rea Davis spoke to Dame and Lucien about ‘Stoned,’ getting more African Americans into the space, and advice for aspiring executives and entrepreneurs.

AllHipHop: Alright. So how did the concept of ‘Stoned’ come about, and what do you want viewers to take away from this film?”

Dame Dash: Well, it was a script that I had; we were working on it, and when we were on Kanye’s ranch, Kanye was doing what he was doing. And, you know, there was a collective of us that had nothing to do, so we decided to be creative while we were waiting to, you know, kick it with Kanye. So, you know, Kanye flew my crew out on a private jet, and we prepped for a day. I had met Lucien and his man, and they were, like, hilarious to me. So, in the midst of a lot of chaos, you know, it was just really standing out as funny, and they were making me laugh, just on a natural level, and you know, I knew they had like a natural kind of a rhythm and swag, so I was like, yo, I’m gonna put y’all in a movie tomorrow. What’s your man’s name? Well, I just forgot his name. James. So he was supposed to star in the movie, but I guess he thought I was f*cking around. He had to go fly and feed the dog, so I was like, yeah, and then we had to make a clutch audible, and we had the writer star in it, and the rest was history. What I hope people get out of it, is that they laugh and that’s really it, you know, we just had fun. We shot it in six days, and we worked out with what we had, and we came up with a great narrative; well shot. And, you know, we captured the energy and the spirit of what was going on, on that ranch, so it was like bottling up the funniness that was happening while we were out there in a certain kind of way. Also, it was cool to see where Kanye came from and his roots, you know, the people that he grew up with that he keeps around him when he’s, you know, may feel like he’s going through it. And, you know, the fact that everyone has strengths in a creative [way] and a sense of humor, you know, being funny, people tend to think that, you know, I’m serious most of the time, and that’s, you know, quite the contrary. I get serious when I got to fight, but, you know, the same kind of situation happened with Kevin Hart. You know, I saw him on stage and said, “Yo, I’m gonna put you in a movie tomorrow,” and I did it.

So, you know, it’s kind of like, when I see funny, I know funny because it’s hard to make me laugh because I’m a funny guy and, you know, Lucien is funny; he’s straight up funny. Then also, the chemistry between, you know, Lucien and Valor, you know, and some like extreme white boy sh*t and some extreme Chicago, you know, cultural difference. I think the common ground is really funny. So, it’s not just like an urban flick. I want to have like, one of the next, you know, stoner flicks. I smoke, you know, I mean, so, it’s funny; it’s a stoner flick. I want them to be talking about it next to ‘How High’ and the other ones like ‘Half Baked,’ ‘Superbad,’ all that. So it’s one of them flicks that you smoke some weed, you just laugh, and you know, have fun.

AllHipHop: So whose acting in the film surprised you the most?

Dame Dash: Who actually surprised me? You know, the thing is, I always have a feeling that someone could show up, or else I wouldn’t do it. So I would say, the chemistry…. what was funny was because we all know Lucien is funny, but every now and again, Valor would catch him with a left hook, or a right, like a funny one that will floor us all. When you called him Tupac or whatever you call him. When you called him Vanilla Tupac. I think the timing was.. the acting together and the timing was surprising. Lucien added a good…. he had a good.. it almost was like he was in the movie before. So we had good memory, and we had good timing. But again, I had suspected that he would, so I can’t say I was surprised, but you would be surprised how many people that aren’t trained in a traditional way that are better than people that are, first crack at it. You can’t contrive funny. It’s a natural thing. It’s a timing thing. They were able to, at the end of the day, write and make sure that the script was tight and rehearse for the next day. So I was also happy about that; there were a lot of scenes because I had to deal with things on the ranch that were directed without me, like, I’d be like, just set the scene up, and they did it, and I was happy with certain scenes that I wasn’t there for.

AllHipHop: So I know that both of you are passionate about more Black people entering the cannabis space, so what are the first steps for people who are not educated about the cannabis field? How can more people get into it?

Dame Dash: Well, it’s literacy. It’s being educated. Looking at the states and the timing in which they’re going to get legalized and what you have to do, and then understanding the programs that could be set up for you to fail if you’re not prepared. You know, my intention is for new ways for us to make money. For us not to get left out; to make sure that it gets translated into language that doesn’t trigger us, [one] that we understand. And make sure that these opportunities, we know them because there’s nothing better than a government contract, and they’re willing to help as well. But again, that help could be like, you know, a disaster and a blessing because if you’re not prepared, the only thing you can do is sell your license to somebody or you end up just giving it up.

Lucien Watson: Aligning yourself and aligning yourself with people that are doing it. You know, of course, you know, we know the difficulties of, especially, just Black people trying to enter that industry, right, so go outside of your circle sometimes. Make yourself uncomfortable. Kind of getting that information from people who’ve been doing it. There’s a bunch of companies out here that are doing it. Sometimes, you know, you just got to kind of align yourself with those who have been doing it.

Dame Dash: Selling weed legal sucks. It’s not like selling illegal weed. It’s not built for someone that did it illegally to be able to do it moving forward. It makes it complicated so that the average drug dealer can’t do it.

Lucien Watson: Right, you’re not just jumping in the weed industry straight from the street. This is a whole bunch of…

Dame Dash: It’s the microbes, you got to be clean. It’s the seed to sale. You got to buy everything before you even get approved. You know, it’s a 3-4 year wait. It ain’t built for somebody that’s used to a quick flip.

AllHipHop: So Lucien, was it intense shooting this film in eight days?

Lucien Watson: It wasn’t intense. It was six days. Intense in the scope of you know, just constantly working, working, working. But I mean, if you’re doing something that you really like to do, there’s really no intensity, you know, what I’m saying? When you’re put in a situation where there’s no tension, then, you know, it doesn’t really get intense. I mean as far as intense, you know, it’s in the scenes it was, you know, they told me to act like myself, and I asked them, “Are you sure? Are you sure you want me to do this?” And take off, and we just took off, and you know, we like Dame said, the alignment and characters and you know, just in each other’s personality. It was really on point, and you gotta think that this is our first time meeting each other as well. Not only trying to, you know, make it work on screen. I mean, you know, we’re trying to figure each other’s personalities out, you know, before they even you know, same rope, you know, so we just thought, I mean, it was dope.

Dame Dash: We didn’t have too much time to think about it. It was like, shoot tomorrow and we started shooting. As soon as the crew came, we shot.

Lucien Watson: There was a fun time like man, like he said, super fun. I enjoyed myself on-camera, off-camera, just being with the you know, with the guys, man, and I mean, hey, you know, we established a relationship, so man, I appreciate everybody. I do. It was a fun day. I had fun.

AllHipHop: So what was it like being in a rap group with Ye?

Lucien Watson: I mean, you know what I’m saying, the rapper in me says, you need to ask him what was it like being in a rap group with me, you know what I’m saying? But I mean, Kanye has always been creative. We’re creatives, you know, and this is what we do. We’re artists. It was dope being around an artist. First of all, it was so young, you know, just so driven with his purpose. It’s like Stevie Wonder. You know what Stevie Wonder was gonna be when he grew up, you know, so, it’s kind of like working with one of those. I mean, we were friends, you know what I’m saying? I mean, we were young kids. We just didn’t have Hip Hop in common. We were also growing up, kind of learning our way around the world, navigating, you know, childhood and all that. I mean, he’s my friend, you know what I’m saying? That’s about, you know, the most I can say. He’s my friend, and I love him, you know, so.

AllHipHop: So Dame, you’ved push the envelope so much. I love that you’re an innovator and a disruptor as you’ve done so much in Hip Hop and beyond. What advice would you give to up-and-coming executives and entrepreneurs?

Dame Dash: You know, I would say understand that that industry is not built for us as a culture. It doesn’t behoove us, and usually in that industry, we are looked at as a figurehead, but not really actually the one that can make the decisions. So, if you’re going to be in those situations, make sure that you take the rolodex. Make sure that you get all poaching. Pick their brain, and while you’re doing something for them, have something tangible that you can also sell for yourself when they’re done. But the only reason for f*cking with them should be for them to carry whatever you’re doing, but don’t depend on that because if you think that that’s going to make you safe, if that’s going to make you feel independent, dependence on somebody else is the most unsafe thing on the planet. It’s the worst form of security. It’s the biggest form of insecurity having to move when someone tells you to, or not being able to move when someone says you can’t, and not getting paid for not owning it. Not being able to pass anything. You’re working for your children. All that seems like a program, and if you want to do or get a different result, the only way possible is to do it different, period. You know, so if you wonder why you still doing the same thing and you don’t feel good about it, and you feel anxiety because you feel you should be further, then, you got to change up your program, and everything that you do, you got to do it different. I switch up my program often.

AllHipHop: So Dame, you’ve been able to accomplish so much, what do you look back on that blows your mind? Like, what’s one thing…you’ve done so much, you’ve tapped into so much and you’ve had longevity in different spaces, but what’s like one thing that you’re like, wow, ”Can you believe I did that?”

Dame Dash: See the thing is, I think I’m unbelievable, so I don’t believe none of this sh*t I do. I know I’m a superhero. I’ve recognized that I’m that man. Um, I think being a single father, and raising my son, Boogey, on my own while running Roc-A-Fella was something that really bugged me out. In hindsight, like it was normal to me. But being a single dad, and you know, picking my son up from school, but also making sure that everything was going right at that level, I thought was very interesting. I think the fact that right now, it bugged me out that in this very moment, I got a comedy, which is ‘Stoned.’ I have a drama, ‘The Prince of Detroit.’ I have a comic book done. I have a kid’s book that Rocky did, a whole network, a new magazine and I have the Dame Dash Studios app all at one time. This isn’t like I’m about to do it. It’s all done. So in the moment, I’m amazed with myself as a company, and I do all these different things completely independent, and also being able to take care of myself, to take care of my children and my family, you know, to eat the food I kill and have enough to really still make sure everyone else is full is an accomplishment. What really bugged me out about me, is that I decided, f*ck the money, I’m gonna do it for the art, and I became a terrible businessman and a great artist. And being able to find that common ground to do both. I amaze myself all day, so you know, every day, trust me, I do appreciate the things that I’m doing because I know I’m doing things that people don’t, and I’m a reflector. I look at the things I do so I don’t make the same mistakes twice, so I could do it better the next time. I’m always looking at well, what does that look like to the average person? Like when you hear Damon directs a movie, it’s not a big deal. You know, some people only direct movies, you know what I’m saying? I direct a movie, act in a movie, write a movie, have a television network, have a magazine, be in a rock group. That’s also pretty amazing too that I’m in a rock group, and nobody’s laughing. That’s bugging me out, you know what I’m saying. I thought I’d at least get some jokes, but all the stuff, it’s just fun to me. To be current at 51 and still be inspired to still be relevant, to still be crispy, to still be doing new things, like the one thing I’ve always been scared of is, and no disrespect to anyone that’s got there, but being that type of a performer artist that once you hit a certain peak, you only perform your old songs. You don’t perform the songs you made last week or last month. You perform the songs you made 10 years ago, and that’s your hit record. I like my hit records to be current. I don’t want to do my greatest hits. I have more hits to come, so I just love to be inspired and do new things and be able to recognize talent. You know, when I put somebody in the movie, they usually blow up, and they end up being a Kevin Hart or somebody. Being able to discover Lucien when he’s like 65, I’m just playing. I’m still inspired, and I’m happy about that.

AllHipHop: Who are your “Top 5” favorite rappers dead or alive?

Dame Dash: It’s like asking me who’s my top three kids. I can’t do it. Hip Hop is like family to me, so I can’t just tell you who I love the most. I love them all equally. It invokes too much conversation. I don’t want to argue with nobody over that sh*t. Honestly, a lot of the people that are my favorites, I know them personally, so, you know, I don’t want to miss out and be like, “Oh, yeah, I forgot this [person].” I can tell you as far as impact, as far as on a personal level, I think the person that I’m most impressed with, that I hung out with, and that was my friend, is Biggie Smalls. So the fact that he said my name in records, and the fact that I got to kick it with him. When I look back on rappers that I think like the time…, him and Pimp C, those times that I got to spend with them. Those were like, those will be the most legendary moments of my life, hanging out with the people that most people didn’t get to hang out with, that aren’t here.

Young Dolph’s Alleged Killer Loses Phone Privileges Over Song Released From Jail

A judge revoked Justin “Straight Drop” Johnson’s phone privileges after the man accused of killing Young Dolph released music from behind bars.

According to multiple reports, Judge Lee Coffee took issue with Johnson recording a song titled “No Statements” during a jailhouse phone call. The track was released via YouTube on November 10.

Judge Coffee also placed restrictions on Johnson’s visitations. The Young Dolph murder suspect can only meet with lawyers.

Prosecutors say Johnson and Cornelius Smith were the gunmen who killed Young Dolph in November 2021. The two were charged with first-degree murder, criminal attempted first-degree murder, unlawful carrying and possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, and theft of property.

Earlier this month, police arrested Hernandez Govan in connection to Young Dolph’s murder. Govan was accused of orchestrating the plot to kill the late rapper.

Govan was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Johnson and Smith each received an additional charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder following Govan’s arrest.

Last week, a fourth man named Jermarcus Johnson surrendered to authorities for his role in Young Dolph’s murder. The 25-year-old suspect was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Recording Artist Viandra Talks Her Career, New Single “Link Up”, Upcoming Project & Working With Major Artists In The Industry

Viandra is far more than just a pretty face, she’s a musician who’s here to prove she has a place in the music industry just like her peers. You may have seen her in some of rap’s hottest music videos, such as “Play No Games” with Big Sean, Ty Dolla Sign and Chris Brown, “Tip Toe” with Roddy Rich, and “Plug Walk” by Rich the Kid — but Viandra simply views it as work. And her ability to maintain professionalism does not go overlooked.

A true definition of a multi-hyphenate, Viandra describes herself as “an artist, entrepreneur, CEO, model, actress doing my thing. Just a girl coming up.”

Born in Chicago but raised in Oklahoma City, Viandra got her start on the small screen on shows like the New Edition mini-series, True to the Game, and South Central Love. But now, she’s ready to go full force with her artistry.

Now following the heels of her debut single “Nasty,” Viandra returns with her newest single and visual called “Link Up.” Additionally, she’s launching her first official brand BADGIRL by Via. The name is inspired by her upcoming single, “BAD GIRL.” which is slated to drop on December 25th alongside her new upcoming EP.

AllHipHop spoke with Viandra in Downtown Los Angeles to discuss her background, favorite artists, past music videos, new song “Link Up,” and more!

AllHipHop: You’re originally from Chicago?

Viandra: Yes I was born in Chicago and raised in Oklahoma City and I reside in Los Angeles, California.

AllHipHop: When did you move to Oklahoma City?

Viandra: I moved to Oklahoma City when I was an infant, like one year old.

AllHipHop: So technically you were raised there?

Viandra: Yes I was raised there and I loved it. Growing up in Oklahoma City is what really shaped me. You would be surprised Oklahoma is very cultured and diverse and I am always going to have love for my city.

AllHipHop: What did you want to be growing up?

Viandra: Honestly, I originally wanted to be a lawyer but as you can see a lot has changed since then.

AllHipHop: When did you first get your taste for entertainment?

Viandra: I got my first taste for entertainment, when I had got signed with L.A. Models back in highschool. I was a part of this video called “Play No Games” with Chris Brown, Big Sean, and Ty Dolla $ign that premiered at the BET Awards. Which was my first big appearance.

AllHipHop: How did that happen?

Viandra: This casting director reached out to me asking me if I wanted to play Pam in the video which was based off the show Martin. I became SAG-AFTRA eligible from acting in that video which was very cool and beneficial for my career.

AllHipHop: Was it up from there?

Viandra: I feel like it has always been up. Everyone is just catching on. PERIOD!

AllHipHop: Who did you grow up listening to? Do you have a Top 5?

Viandra: I grew up listening to a lot of underground music from Dem Get Away Boyz to B5 to Pretty Ricky. My top 5 definitely includes Beyonce, Drake, Ciara, Chris Brown, and Lil Baby.

AllHipHop: We gotta touch on “Plug Walk,” that song was a moment! That song is a banger.

Viandra: Yes. It’s crazy. You would be surprised that video is what a lot of people know me for. I never would have thought that video would have brought that much traction.

AllHipHop: How was it vibing with Rich The Kid?

Viandra: I keep it very professional. I have my own trailer and the artist has their own trailer. We come out when it’s time to shoot, then we go back about our business.

AllHipHop: What about “Tip Toe” with Roddy Ricch?

Viandra: That was actually one of the videos that I enjoyed being a part of. The team on set was very professional and it gave me a chance to bring out my acting side a bit more.

AllHipHop: You just released “Link Up,” what were you on recording this one?

Viandra: I was on some s###. I was in there vibing the f### out. The beat was giving “stilettos, pumps in the club,” which is a song from Crime Mob who I grew up listening to so I definitely had to give them their flowers forsure. Shout out to Crime Mob!

AllHipHop: Talk about getting a beat from ChaseTheMoney, I heard that.

Viandra: Working with ChaseTheMoney is always a good experience. I am very fond of him and we have a lot of songs together.

NBA YoungBoy’s Team Gives Out 500 Turkeys For The Holiday

Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy is getting in the holiday spirit and spreading joy to those in need.

According to BR Proud, the chart-topper and his team linked up with some nonprofits to help residents in his hometown. While he could not be there in person, he did provide resources to help various charities to give the underserve a wonderful experience.

This includes giving out over 500 turkeys to families in need.

One partner, Maurice Walker, the owner of Boil & Roux, said the goal is not just to fill their stomachs, usher in a sense of peace, and help everyone.

Walker said, “Of course, you know, the battered women’s shelter. You know, homeless people. I mean, everyone needs some help sometimes. So that’s what we’re here for.”

The mother of the Never Broke Again Team, Mo’Nique Coleman, spoke on behalf of the rapper in his absence.

She said, “Be happy, be thankful. That’s what it’s all about, being thankful during this time and not only during this time but every day.”

NBA Youngboy has a lot to be grateful for. This year, he beat a gun charge that could have sent him away.

He recently inked a deal with Birdman and Cash Money Records, allegedly worth $60 million. He just welcomed his 10th child. And he was named alongside Drake, as one of the most streamed artists of 2022.

No better way to show your gratitude than to give back.

Why the Third Time’s a Charm for Philly’s Own B.Rashaad!!

Fresh off the release of his latest body of work, it’s reasonable to state B.Rashaad has staked his claim in Hip-Hop. After sitting with his album “Now You Know” and listening to his two prior projects, he’s trending upwards. This project gives nostalgic Hip-Hop vibes that made me fall in love with the culture. He stated, “I wanted to get back to the feeling of when I dropped my first project”, referring to his very impressive debut album “1626”. “I had fun creating that project and there were no expectations, but once I hit those Apple charts, I felt pressure to top that, and it took the fun out of it”.

It’s legitimate to say that he has regained his form on “Now You Know”. This project stacks up against any major rap release this year. On par with those of Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar & Symba. B.Rashaad’s lyricism, vulnerability, originality, production, quality of sound, and storytelling ability set this project apart from any indie release I’ve heard to date. Starting with the Intro “Ain’t It Ironic”, he sets the tone with several scathing bars about the harsh realities of his upbringing.

“Can I Live?”, is his most vulnerable piece of art, and he goes absolutely nuclear in his second verse. “Lord Knows”, again, provides a reflection of his upbringing while still breaking family generational curses. The standout record and confirmed single, “Between Us” accomplished produced by Nyrell and features South Carolina R&B singer Bidnez. Between us tells the narrative of relieving an unappreciative, jealous, and abusive boyfriend of his duties. It’s just a dope vibe and collaborative effort!! “P.O.P” (Position of Power), is the flip side of the aforementioned “Between Us” giving the ex-boyfriend’s account of things and a skit from the late controversial Kevin Samuels.

“Our Lil Secret” is a favorite, as B.Rashaad shares his appreciation for voluptuous women. He has several quotable bars there. “Exquisite” features braggadocios rhymes and his admiration of the pricey Richard Mille watch. The project kicks up a notch on “Scoreboard” as B.Rashaad showcases his story-telling ability about an inner-city teen who turns for guidance from an older hustler. The elder statesman misguides the teen into committing a robbery that turns deadly.

There are many twists and turns that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. “The Field”, “Reality Rap”, “Real Sh*t, pt.4”, “Thought U Could Be” and “More Money, More Problems” round out the other standout records from this project. “Now You Know” is an album that you can play in its entirety and has replay value and left me looking forward to what’s coming! It’s safe to say that the genre of Hip-Hop is in excellent hands and that B.Rashaad is here to stay.

The Country Of Israel Claps Back At Ye’s “Shalom” Tweet

After Elon Musk granted him full access to his Twitter account, Ye made a post that clearly poked at Jews worldwide.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Ye posted on his account the Hebrew greeting of peace, “Shalom.”

In response to the jab, Israel’s national account responded with a diss, writing, “We would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.”

It makes sense that Israel would want to stay out of anything close to Ye’s world. Especially since, over the last few months, he has made antisemitic statements.

After the national website released its statement, Elon Musk hopped into the conversation, trying to temper the feelings of the Jewish nation.

He commented, “Your tweets are good! More countries should tweet like this. No fun being all stuffy.”

Later Musk, who owns the social media platform, told another Twitter user who asked about his visit to the Holy Land, and he said, “it was great.”

Israel also snuck in a little joke itself, jabbing at the notorious occasion when Ye grabbed the mic from Taylor Swift at the MTV Awards after she won the trophy for Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me” over Beyoncé in 2009.

Ye said, “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

The Israel Twitter account tagged Taylor in the exchange. She did not respond, according to The Jerusalem Post.
