Mariah Carey Becomes First Female Artist With Three Songs To Spend 11 Weeks At No. 1

Many music fans view Mariah Carey as the present queen of Christmas music. The Pop/R&B icon’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” remains one of the most-played songs every year during the holiday season.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” has also returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart every December for the past four years. Mariah Carey’s classic tune held the top spot for three weeks in 2022.

In total, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” controlled the Hot 100 rankings for 11 weeks. That stat makes Mariah Carey the first female artist in history to lead the Hot 100 for at least 11 weeks with three different songs.

Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men Ruled The Hot 100 In The 1990s

Philadelphia-bred R&B group Boyz II Men also has three songs that have remained at #1 for 11 weeks. The Michael Bivins-backed quartet’s “One Sweet Day” with Mariah Carey commanded the Hot 100 for 16 weeks in 1995-1996.

In addition to the “One Sweet Day” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singles, Carey’s “We Belong Together” dominated the Hot 100 for 14 weeks in 2005. Boyz II Men also surpassed the 11-week mark with 1992’s “End of the Road” (13 weeks) and 1994’s “I’ll Make Love to You” (14 weeks).

According to Billboard, twenty-eight different songs have held onto the Hot 100’s #1 slot for at least 11 total weeks. 2019’s “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus holds the all-time record (19 weeks).

“One Sweet Day” is tied for second place with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber. Former One Direction boy band member Harry Styles sits in third with his “As It Was” single (15 weeks). That Harry’s House track is the longest-running Number One for 2022.

Mimi Holds Additional Billboard Hot 100 Records

Mariah Carey has the most overall #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a solo act. The five-time Grammy winner reached the pinnacle of the chart with 19 different entries. That total is only second to The Beatles (20).

Additionally, Mariah Carey extends her record for most cumulative weeks at No. 1 for a career. Carey’s 90 weeks in the apex position of the Hot 100 tops Rihanna (60), The Beatles (59), Drake (54), Boyz II Men (50), Usher (47), and Beyoncé (43).

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” first arrived in 1994. The holiday standard lives on the Merry Christmas album. Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas also contains covers of other popular carols such as “Silent Night” and “O Holy Night.”

Tony Yayo Claims G-Unit Did More For Uncle Murda’s Career Than Jay-Z

Uncle Murda has spent time working with a company run by Jay-Z and a company run by 50 Cent. According to Tony Yayo, his G-Unit squad did a better job elevating Uncle Murda than Jay’s Roc-A-Fella Records.

Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda sat down for an interview with 50 Cent’s ThisIs50 outlet. The conversation included the two NYC rappers reflecting on Jay-Z’s involvement in Murda’s career.

“That’s why I respect [Uncle Murda] because we had more of an assist. We had 50 Cent, so I knew I was okay. He sold 11 million records. I’m gonna get a percentage of his fans. I’m good,” said Tony Yayo.

The Thoughts of a Predicate Felon album creator continued, “[Uncle Murda] had to kind of more do it on his own. And he had deals with Jay-Z… I always tell him all the time, Jay-Z ain’t treating you like this, n####.”

Uncle Murda signed with Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records/Def Jam Records in 2007. The New York City-based company also once served as the label for Kanye West, Cam’ron, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Jadakiss, Teairra Marí, and other acts.

Uncle Murda Says Jay-Z Helped Him Get His First Six-Figure Check

After parting ways with the Roc and Def Jam, Uncle Murda later aligned himself with 50 Cent’s G-Unit label. The “Get The Strap” rhymer mentioned how his association with G-Unit apparently allowed him to party with A-list celebrities such as the Kardashians and Serena Williams.

However, Uncle Murda also shouted out Jay-Z during the ThisIs50 discussion. The yearly “Rap Up” spitter acknowledged Jay for helping him earn his first six-figure payment. Tony Yayo then made sure that his comments were not a complete burial of the current Roc Nation boss.

“I’m quite sure Hov and a lot of artists – they treat some of their artists maybe good, maybe not. I’m just telling you how we get treated. I don’t know. Jay-Z never had him in the Armani Hotel [in Dubai, United Arab Emirates].”

While Tony Yayo questioned Jay-Z’s support for Uncle Murda, the G-Unit crew has not always been on the same page. 50 used his Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter book to lay out how he sometimes clashed with G-Unit artists Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.

Drake’s Producer Noah “40” Shebib Showed Love To Megan Thee Stallion

For over two years, Megan Thee Stallion faced significant scrutiny from members of the Hip Hop community. Numerous high-profile people, including Drake, appeared to express doubt about Megan’s claims that Tory Lanez shot her in the feet.

Last week, a California jury convicted Tory Lanez of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in discharging his firearm. Lanez awaits sentencing for conviction.

The court case is now over. Many Megan Thee Stallion fans feel vindicated that the judicial system convicted Tory Lanez. As a result, some Megan fans are also calling out any detractors who dismissed her story.

In particular, many critics now question Drake’s judgment in seemingly siding with Tory Lanez in the felony assault case. While Drake did not outright publicly back his fellow Canadian, lyrics on the Her Loss album left some listeners believing Drake did take subliminal shots at Megan Thee Stallion.

“This b#### lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion. She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling,” rapped Drake on the Her Loss track “Circo Loco.” Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss joint effort dropped on November 4.

It turns out someone very close to Drake showed support for Megan Thee Stallion despite those “Circo Loco” bars. The OVO frontman’s longtime producer, Noah “40” Shebib, recently commented about Meg on Instagram.

Seven days ago, before the announcement of the Tory Lanez verdict, the On Canada Project shared an Instagram post. The organization declared it stands with Megan Thee Stallion. In response, 40 simply replied, “👏🙌.”

Noah “40” Shebib did not produce “Circo Loco” off Her Loss, but he is listed as a songwriter for the record. 40 also worked as an engineer and mixer for the track. Tay Keith and Boi-1da received actual producer credit.

Drake’s Her Loss collaborative partner, 21 Savage, also previously took a public stance in support of Megan Thee Stallion. Back in July 2020, when news of the shooting first broke, Savage tweeted, “Wish I could give Megan a hug praying for you ❤️.”

On the same day as Her Loss arrived on DSPs, Megan Thee Stallion lashed out on Twitter. The 27-year-old Houston native did not mention anyone by name, but it appeared clear that the message was meant for Drake.

“Stop using my shooting for clout b#### ass N#####! Since when [the f###] is it cool to joke [about] women getting shot! You n##### especially RAP N##### ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she [says] one of y’all homeboys abused her,” tweeted Megan on November 4.

Following the widely-publicized shooting on July 12, 2020, Megan directly named Tory Lanez as the person who fired a gun at her. Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) continuously denied shooting Megan in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood that night.

After the court announced the guilty verdict, Tory Lanez’s family blamed Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management agency for the outcome. However, many social media users mocked Tory Lanez and his father for suggesting Roc Nation somehow orchestrated a conspiracy to frame the 30-year-old rapper.

Noah “40” Shebib’s subtle championing of Megan Thee Stallion is in contrast to other Hip Hop figures that still distrust the jury’s decision in the case. For example, Florida rapper Kodak Black still insists Lanez is a “good n####” hurt by industry politics.

Jim Jones Presents His Hottest Hip Hop Podcast List For 2022

It’s that time of year when publications, outlets, and fans share their “best-of” reviews from the world of music. Jim Jones took a different approach by focusing on his favorite Hip Hop podcasts from the last twelve months.

This week saw Jim Jones share his “Top Hottest Podcasters For 2022” list on social media. The Dipset emcee explained the selections in a caption posted to Instagram on Tuesday.

“After considerable deliberation and numerous talks [with the] top 10 committee we have finally decided on our top 10 podcasters of 2022,” wrote Jones. “If [you] feel [you] should [have] made the list hold [that] thought till next year.”

Jim Jones placed N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs at #1 on his 2022 rankings. The Top 5 also included Million Dollaz Worth of Game (#2), Earn Your Leisure (#3), and The Joe Budden Podcast (#4). Twitch streamer Kai Cenat came in at #5.

However, Brian “B.Dot” Miller and Elliott Wilson’s long-running Rap Radar podcast did not make the final cut this year. Jim Jones tagged the two journalists in his Instagram post. He also shouted out Don’t Call Me White Girl.

“@bdottm [and] @elliottwilson [you] were so close we even did a recount for [you] but [your] numbers weren’t high enough this year lol lol 😂,” stated Jones. “Honorable mention @dontcallmeewhitegirl. She’s is 1 of my favorites and has 1 of my favorite shows it was [tough]. Her show [is] too funny 😂.”

The Lobby Boyz album creator also added, “Some might argue @kaicenat is not a podcaster but he interviews people so, [therefore] he has a component of podcasting [going during] his show. So yeah, and he [is] super poppin to the young generation.”

No Jumper (#6), Caresha Please (#7), Kitchen Talk (#8), Lip Service (#9), and My Expert Opinion (#10) rounded out the rest of Jim Jones’s “Top Hottest Podcasters For 2022” list. In addition, Jones launched his own Mining Diamond podcast in February.

Tyrese Responds To G Herbo Jokingly Calling Out Usher

Usher Raymond is one of the most celebrated R&B acts in music history. The southern singer has supporters all around the world, and apparently, Hip Hop artist G Herbo is among those Usher fans.

G Herbo showed off his vocal ability by mimicking a moment from Usher’s critically-acclaimed Tiny Desk performance for NPR Music. The Chicago-bred rapper captioned his video, “@usher can’t f### with me on my [worst] day.”

The Shade Room reposted the clip of G Herbo giving his best Usher impression. Fellow R&B veteran Tyrese Gibson jumped into the Instagram blog’s comments section in order to respond to Herbo jokingly calling out Raymond.

“The young nighas gonna have to put some respect on us 20+ in this game OG’s s### is getting reckless out here,” wrote Tyrese in response to Herbo. “Shout to Usher I respect and salute you King… These young nighas… Doing too much…. I still sell out arenas and I ain’t dropped in 8 years lol.”

21 Savage’s Estranged Father Disputes His Son’s Account Of Why They Stopped Talking

21 Savage’s father disputed his son’s account of the breakdown of their relationship after the “Knife Talks” rapper said they fell out after his father stopped sending him money for a cell phone.  

21 discussed the falling out during a 2018 Breakfast Club interview, explaining that he had asked his father, Kevin Cornelius Emmons, to send him $100 a month to pay for a cell phone.  

“He sent $100, and then he just stopped sending the s###. So, I started selling weed to get me a phone,” 21 Savage claimed. He said he “used to be hurt” over their lack of relationship but hasn’t spoken to his father since sixth grade.  

21 Savage “Never Phone Me” Says His Father

Nonetheless, Emmons disagreed and gave another version of events during a recent interview on the U.K.’s RTM Podcast Show.  

“He’s never phoned me. But I can tell you about the phone,” Emmons said. He explained that he agreed to pay for the phone to call his son without having to address his son’s mother.  

He claims once 21 Savage got the phone, he agreed to pay for credit to avoid his son bearing the cost of international calls when calling his father. According to Emmons, he sent three monthly payments of between $20 to $40, but his son never phoned him, despite that being the sole reason for the phone.  

Emmons stated by the fifth month, he was sending 21 Savage $100 monthly and continued to do so for another two months, but his son still would not call him.  

“I had this conversation with him plenty of times,” he said when asked why he didn’t visit his son in America. “We had an agreement that he would come back every six months. He came back once in 2005.”  

He continued: “The emphasis is put on why couldn’t I send him money or fly out there and visit him. I wasn’t expecting [his mother] to pay,” Emmons added, explaining that he was working to pay for 21 Savage to return to the U.K. every three months. Once his son was regularly flying over to the U.K., he would travel to the U.S. to visit him.  

However, Emmons claims that because 21 Savage did not fly over often, as planned, there seemed little point in visiting him in America.  

21 Savage Says His Father “Abandoned” Him

21 Savage has discussed his relationship with his father, or lack thereof, in a series of interviews. He told Math Hoffa that he lied about his father having substance abuse issues after he “abandoned” him. The “Rich Flex” hitmaker also explained he felt “kinda jealous” and left out when his cousin received visits and gifts from his own father back in the U.K. 

According to 21 Savage, he tried to make amends with his father following the death of his younger brother Terrell Davis. The 27-year-old was killed in a fatal stabbing in London, where he lived, in November 2020. However, 21 says the reconciliation attempt wasn’t “really genuine.”  

“I made myself a man, your job really done. You missed the window,” 21 Savage said of his father.  

Kendrick Lamar Is Mostly “Completely Off” Social Media For The Sake Of His Ego

Kendrick Lamar has opened up about why he’s not active on social media. 

The Compton lyricist, who was joined by his long-time collaborator Dave Free for an in-depth interview with The New York Times published Dec. 27, explained he tries to stay ‘completely off” socials for the most part.  

“My social media, most of the time, is completely off,” Kendrick Lamar stated. “Because I know, like … I can easily smell my own s###. I know. … Like, I’m not one of those dudes that be like, Oh, yeah, I know how good I am, but I also know the reason why I’m so good is because God’s blessed me with the talent to execute on the talent.” 

Kendrick continued: “The moment that you start getting lost in your ego, that’s when you start going down.” 

Kendrick Lamar is currently on his The Big Steppers Tour and in recent months shared tour photos via Instagram. However, as of Wednesday morning, his IG was empty save for a post on his Story promoting the NYT piece. He rarely tweets either, save for sharing his work and upcoming appearances. 

Elsewhere during the interview, Kendrick Lamar discussed his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which he says is his most personal work to date.  

“I’ve never expressed myself the way I expressed myself on this album,” K-Dot revealed. “From the moment I started picking up a pen and started freestyling. This was the moment that I was trying to get to without even knowing at the time.” 

After a five-year hiatus, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers arrived in May to critical acclaim. The project received eight nominations at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards and earned him a place on Google’s Top Trending Musicians List For 2022.  

Akon Called Out For Divisive Comments Comparing Black American & African Musicians

Akon has Twitter in a shambles over his latest comments concerning Black American musicians. 

The “Locked Up” hitmaker sparked another online debate days after he was criticized over his comments about Black fathers. Another non-viral clip from his interview on the Zeze Millz Show began making the rounds featuring Akon comparing Black American and African performers, implying that the latter has a better stage presence.  

The contentious remarks came after Zeze gave props to a young musician whom she praised for his performances. “Well he’s African,” Akon replied before adding, “We’re a little different when it comes to stage presence.” 

Akon continued describing American performers as “wobbling, pants hanging half down, bored as hell, half asleep ‘cause they high as hell on stage.” According to Akon, African performers don’t have these issues. “But [In] Africa, we wake up in the morning. I mean, like look at these YouTube clips of all these kids from Uganda. Like these kids are performers. So for us, it comes natural.”

The backlash was swift once clips began circulating on social media, with users criticizing Akon over his divisive take.  

“Akon cosplayed as a black American for the majority of his career so him saying this is wild,” read one tweet. “Let the Black Americans cook him (without xenophobia pls).” 

Another shared an image of Prince, adding their thoughts in the caption: “Akon really said that s### as if we do not have iconic Black American artists/performers. I mean the list is long honey.”  

Another stated simply, “Stop asking Akon questions.” 

Akon Called Out Over Fatherhood Comments

Akon also faced backlash over his comments about the responsibilities of fatherhood during the same interview after Zeze Millz questioned how Nick Cannon manages not to miss important events in the lives of his 12 children.  

When the host questioned how he manages to “attend every single recital?” Akon fired back, “No, that’s a white man’s thing. Who gives a f### about a recital?”  

He continued, “No, seriously. Listen, my job is to raise my kids, to be responsible, to be understanding, to protect their mother, to give a hand with their father, and to assist with family planning, and to be responsible adults.” 

Amber Rose Checks Murda Mook For Using “Derogatory Labels” To Refer To Women

Amber Rose and Murda Mook got into a heated debate over women in the industry on the latest episode of Drink Champs. 

The model and influencer joined legendary battle rappers Murda Mook and Loaded Lux on a special edition of the series aired on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).  

However, the conversation turned into a dispute after Murda Mook shared his thoughts on women with “no talent” getting famous. After he dropped a few bars, Amber Rose was quick to challenge him.  

“Chicks getting booked for $2,000 ’cuz they posted nudes stylin’,” Murda Mook rapped. “Think about it, having no talent that’s the new talent/I saw a b#### on red carpet, I said ‘Tell me what you do’/She said, ‘I’m pretty, I pierced my c###, my t######, my belly button too/I twerk for the ‘gram, my videos get a hella buncha views/That’s very f#####’ cool but tell me what you do.”   

He continued: “It’s disgusting/Hoes winnin’ be the image they pumpin’/B###### gettin’ famous off famous n##### they f#####’/But it’s the n#### fault they gettin’ caught, end of discussion/You can’t blame the hoes, at the end of the day, them b###### is hustlin’”  

Once he finished rapping, Amber Rose questioned Murda Mook, asking what his problem is. “Nothing. I ain’’t have a problem with none of that s###. I just report the news,” Mook replied before adding, “It’s just what I see. If you think about it, right. It’s a talent in itself though. If having no talent is a talent, now you’re talented. You talented at not being talented.”  

Amber Rose asked where the blame for that lies, “Is it the girl’s problem or is it the consumer?” 

She continued, “As far as let’s say like me, Kim Kardashian, Jada, Ari. Like it should never be a conversation amongst men because it’s like you have to then blame the consumer, right? Because these girls, us, are like known as not having talent but we make a lot of money.”  

“It’s always respect,” Amber Rose explained to Murda Mook, “I just feel like when it comes to men, and it’s like ‘hoes’ and all that, right. Like y’all stick y’all dick in everything but then you call us hoes for the consumer loving us.”  

“N##### still calling chicks hoes?” Mook asked before Amber replied, “Yeah, you just did. You just did in your freestyle.” 

Amber continued, “Do you believe that girls that are on and popping, or if they’re f###### somebody and they get on, are they hoes? Those are derogatory labels, right? Think of like a White man calling you the N-word right? As people of color, we feel some type of way but when it comes to men and women, a lot of men don’t feel some type of way about the derogatory labels that are put on women, especially Black women or women of color.”

Kodak Black Questions Tory Lanez Verdict: “They Done Caught This Female In A Few Lies”

Kodak Black says the jury arrived at the wrong verdict in the Tory Lanez trial, citing insufficient evidence. 

The jury sided with Megan Thee Stallion and found the R&B singer guilty on all three counts, including shooting the Houston rapper. However, the decision didn’t sit right with Koback Black, who took to Instagram Live on Dec. 24 to weigh in on the subject.  

“This s### aint right, homie. For real, bro,” Kodak began. “And Tory Lanez a good n####, bro…This s### f###### with my Christmas Eve. Everybody s### ain’t for me to speak on. But it’s like n##### aint finna talk about that. N##### finna act like this s### ain’t never happen. I don’t know. I wasn’t in the courtroom. But at the same time, if it is some f##### up s### going on, n##### ain’t gonna wanna say nothing because of the politics b#######. And all of this Jay-Z s###. But I don’t like that s### nan bit.” 

Kodak Black Says Tory Lanez Punishment Should Be Left to God

“Now, I’m a God-fearing n####,” Kodak continued. “If my brudda actually did do that s###, God gon’ see it through where he get the justifiable punishment he feel like he deserve for that.” 

While Kodak Black claimed he is against men harming women, he questioned Megan Thee Stallion’s account.  

“They done caught this female in a few lies and s###,” The “Super Gremlin” hitmaker stated. “And then, how you find a n#### guilty for shooting the b####, when ain’t no evident behind it? Y’all talking ’bout, b#### had gun residue and another person. And ain’t nobody came through and say, ‘Yea, he did that s###.’ That s### don’t sit well with me.” 

The court sat through nine days of testimony before the jury found Tory Lanez guilty on all three counts. He was charged with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner to cause bodily injury in connection to Megan’s shooting.

A$AP Relli Shooting Lawsuit On Hold Until A$AP Rocky Criminal Case Is Settled

A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli reached a deal to pause the latter’s lawsuit over an alleged shooting.

According to Radar Online, the civil suit won’t move forward until there’s a resolution in the criminal case against A$AP Rocky. The 34-year-old rapper was charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in August.

Prosecutors accused A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, of shooting at A$AP Relli during a confrontation in November 2021. The RCA Records artist pleaded not guilty to assault charges.

A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, came forward as the victim of the alleged shooting in August. He filed a lawsuit against his former friend over the incident.

Joe Tacopina, who represents A$AP Rocky, accused A$AP Relli of extortion. The lawyer claimed A$AP Relli tried to attack his client during the incident that occurred in November 2021.

“[Relli] was trying to get money from Rocky,” Tacopina told Rolling Stone. “He wanted Rocky to support him. He made it clear. There were repeated attempts where he tried to ask for money in lieu of not causing problems for Rocky. That’s what he said. We have all this memorialized in text messages and otherwise, so it’s an extortion.”

Don’t expect 50 Cent to create a new album anytime soon.

50 Cent discussed why he hasn’t recorded a follow-up to his 2014 album Animal Ambition in an interview with PEOPLE. The G-Unit boss said he turned his attention to television as his fan base grew older.

“I mean, I really enjoy the music,” he noted. “But the audience is changing. My core audience was in college in 2003. They’re grown now and they may have the drink that you would have in the nightclub in the privacy of their home now. They are my television viewership now. That’s who’s watching.”

50 Cent told PEOPLE he still works on new ideas for songs. But these days, the music he crafts will be used for his film and TV projects.

Over the past eight years, 50 Cent has built his own TV empire. He produced the hit series Power, which spawned multiple spin-offs on Starz. His other shows include the Starz series BMF, ABC’s legal drama For Life and WE tv’s docuseries Hip Hop Homicides.

50 Cent is also developing Fightland, a new scripted series for Starz. The boxing drama was the last show he pitched to Starz before his deal with the network ended in September.

Kanye West Fans Confused After He’s Immortalized In “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” Film

Kanye West seems to be on almost everyone’s “naughty list” this year, so it came as a surprise to see him essentially immortalized in the film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The Rian Johnson-directed film—the follow-up to 2019’s Knives Out—initially arrived in September. But once the movie became available via Netflix on December 23, some savvy viewers noticed an eerie similarity between a painting of a prophet and Ye.

On Monday (December 26), the Twitter account @yefanatics shared a clip of the scene in which Edward Norton is standing in front of what appears to be a painting of West draped in a robe while holding a chalice in one hand and torch in the other. The caption read simply: “Kanye West appears in the movie Knives Out Glass Onion.”

Comments such as, “Do you think that’s Kanye?” and “Saw that and was confused, prophet YE” started flooding the post. Meanwhile, another viewer wanted to know: “Uhm…On Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is this Kanye West?” It was a sentiment echoed in several other tweets.

Filming for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery began in September 2021, long before Kanye West sputtered a series of anti-Semitic comments and became Public Enemy No. 1 in the process. The new film finds Daniel Craig reprising his role as master detective Benoit Blanc in addition to an ensemble cast including Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

It originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and began a one-week limited theatrical release last month. It received the widest theatrical release ever for a Netflix film and grossed $15 million against a $40 million budget.

Takeoff Murder Suspect Seeks Another Bond Reduction

Attorneys representing Takeoff’s alleged killer want a judge to lower the murder suspect’s bond.

According to multiple reports, Patrick Clark’s lawyers appeared in court to pursue a second bond reduction for their client on Tuesday (December 27). His bond is currently set at $1 million, but his attorneys hope to get it lowered to $300,000.

Clark’s bond was originally set at $2 million after he was arrested for Takeoff’s murder. Clark’s lawyers requested a bond reduction, arguing that $2 million was excessive. A judge lowered it to $1 million.

Attorneys for Clark believe his bond is still too high. They expect him to be released if Judge Josh Hill reduces the bond to $300,000.

Judge Hill raised concerns about Clark being a flight risk. The judge scheduled another bond hearing for Wednesday (December 28).

Letitia Quinones, one of Clark’s lawyers, said his family is prepared to cover his bond if it’s reduced to $300,000. Quinones thinks her client could be released 24-48 hours after the next hearing.

Clark, 33, was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Takeoff. Clark was taken into custody on December 1.

Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston on November 1. The Migos member was 28.

Diddy Unveils His Baby’s Face To The World

Diddy allowed fans to see his daughter Love’s face on Tuesday (December 27).

The Bad Boy Records founder posted two pictures of his baby on Instagram. Diddy shared close-up shots of his daughter after his followers got a glimpse of her in the Hip Hop mogul’s family Christmas photo.

Love was born in October, but Diddy didn’t publicly reveal her birth until December. The mother of his child is a woman named Dana Tran.

Diddy’s relationship with Yung Miami became a topic of conversation since he fathered a child with another woman. Akademiks and Yung Miami’s old foe Gina Huynh trolled the City Girls member after learning about Love’s birth.

Akademiks called Yung Miami a side chick, which she denied. The two clashed online before Diddy addressed the matter on Twitter.

“@yungmiami305 is not my side chick,” he wrote. “Never has been, never will be. She’s very important and special to me, and I don’t play about my Shawty Wop. I don’t discuss things on the internet and I will not start today.”

Yung Miami discussed her situation with Diddy on her Caresha Please podcast. The Quality Control rapper said she wasn’t blindsided by his baby news.

“I think communication is the key,” she explained. “I feel like when you dealing with somebody, communication is the key. It wasn’t a surprise.”

Cousin Stizz Concert Shooting: Sony Ordered To Pay $160 Million After Being Found Partially Responsible

A DeKalb County jury ruled that Sony Music Holdings should pay $160 million in damages for failing to protect concertgoers at a 2017 show featuring rapper Cousin Stizz.

On December 15th, Sony was ordered to pay a massive amount over a shooting in Underground Atlanta, resulting in two attendees’ deaths.

On that fateful night of November 12th, 2017, disaster struck as a gunman stormed into the concert venue and indiscriminately opened fire on the unsuspecting crowd.

Amidst the chaos and pandemonium, four innocent concertgoers were struck by bullets, two of whom, Giovan Diaz and Ewell Ynoa, tragically lost their lives to their fatal wounds.

As the main act prepared to take the stage, the venue was filled with screams and gunfire, leaving many to wonder if they would make it out alive.

For Diaz and Ynoa, their promising futures in the music industry were cut short instantly. The shooter, 25-year-old Jonathan Bautista, was later identified by police.

The verdict came after a trial that included two other consolidated cases also suing Sony on similar grounds.

The lawsuit, filed by the Beasley Allen Law Firm in June 2018, named Sony, its record label RCA Records, and concert venues Live Nation and Masquerade as defendants.

There were multiple deaths, and Gio and Wells suffered significantly before losing their fight for life, as eyewitnesses outlined. The trial was incredibly emotional because of what these families, and the world, lost. One of these men had been told he would be a father just a few hours before the shooting happened. Combine that with the fact the concert endangered everyone, and this Defendant refused to participate in the legal process, and you get the type of verdict we saw here,” Beasley Allen Atlanta lawyer Parker Miller explained.

The funds will be used to compensate the victims’ families. Sony has not yet commented on the verdict.

Kanye West’s Behavior Could Spell Trouble For Kim Kardashian’s Dating Life

It seems Kanye West’s actions, including his recent anti-Semitic rants, have caused concern for ex-wife Kim Kardashian as she moves on with her life and attempts to find love again.

In a recent interview on the Angie Martinez IRL Podcast, Kardashian spoke about her relationship with comedian Pete Davidson while in the midst of her divorce from West, the father of her four children.

West had previously made negative comments about Davidson on social media during his relationship with Kardashian.

“(Dating) was just so new,” she began. “I didn’t know what dating was for so long. I’d been in a relationship for almost 15 years, 12 years, something like that. I don’t know, there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘Oh my God, is everyone going to be scared because I don’t have the easiest ex?’ I don’t think that’s fair for me to ever put someone in a situation or bring a new person in that could be super innocent. But then there’s a side of me that’s like, Why would I ever have to live that way?'”

The 42-year-old also mentioned, while she’s currently in her “fun zone,” she hopes her future partner will be able to handle her past and all of the associated baggage.

“I don’t know if I’ll get married again, but I’ll have my forever partner,” she added. “I know that. He’s coming, absolutely. I’m at peace and I’m gonna have fun until that happens.”

Kardashian noted she has learned to show “restraint” in the face of West’s controversial online outbursts, as she doesn’t want to engage in public online arguments.

She emphasized she feels free and has a “deep sense of calm” and therefore doesn’t want to waste energy “deflecting every ridiculous thing that is said about me, even if it’s from the person that was closest” to her.

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, and the divorce was finalized in November.

The settlement left West on the hook for $2.4 million per year in child support, with a requirement to wire $200,000 to Kim’s account on the first of every month.

The former couple divided their assets based on the terms of their prenuptial agreement and waived spousal support. They also agreed to joint custody of their four children and committed to participating in mediation to resolve any issues that may arise involving their children. If one party fails to participate in the mediation, the other party wins by default.

Former United States president/current 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump did not end 2022 on a high note. One of Trump’s harshest critics, comedian D.L. Hughley, wants even more legal woes for the ex-commander-in-chief in the coming years.

The United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack recently recommended that the Justice Department pursue criminal charges against Donald Trump for his connection to the 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection.

Federal prosecutors have not officially indicted Trump with any crimes associated with January 6. However, D.L. Hughley calls for authorities to charge the right-wing Republican politician with several counts.

D.L. Hughley Says Donald Trump Supporters Will Never Believe He’s Guilty

“I think that everybody who believes he’s guilty will, will, and the people who are trying to argue that he’s not, they won’t believe it no matter what. The hardest people to try to convince are Trump fans and Kanye fans,” D.L. Hughley told TMZ.

Hughley had a highly-publicized feud with longtime Trump supporter Kanye “Ye” West earlier this year. During his interview outside LAX airport, The Original Kings of Comedy star turned his attention back to Donald Trump and the January 6 siege.

“If [Trump] isn’t indicted – an indictment doesn’t mean a conviction – but if he isn’t indicted it will speak volumes about our legal system. Stop saying out loud that nobody is above the law because clearly, they are,” stated D.L. Hughley.

The D.L. Hughley Morning Show host also added, “From espionage to f###### sedition to tampering with elections. You name it, he’s done it. I think [Trump] should be charged with manslaughter for that cop that died even though it wasn’t [at] the event.”

Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, 42, died from suffering multiple strokes days after the insurrection. Two men reportedly assaulted Sicknick with pepper spray during the attack on the building. The Capitol Police agency still insists Sicknick died in the line of duty while trying to defend Congress.

The Department of Justice has already convicted numerous defendants for various crimes linked to the January 6 coup attempt. For example, Richmond-based rapper, Bugzie The Don, received a five-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to four misdemeanor counts.

Donald Trump maintains he did not incite the crowd at his Washington, DC rally on January 6 to storm the Capitol that day. However, the former star of The Apprentice reality show did spend months falsely telling his followers that Joe Biden and the Democratic Party stole the 2020 presidential election.

Boosie Badazz has become one of the most controversial figures in modern-day Hip Hop culture. His personal opinions about Lil Nas X and Dwyane Wade’s family angered many social media users. Apparently, Boosie has heat with some important people at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena as well.

“I need Trae Young, [John] Collins, [Dejounte] Murray, the Atlanta Hawks to go talk to the NBA security because they say if I talk to players or the coaches, from now on, they gonna put me out,” claimed Boosie in a self-filmed video posted to the internet.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native added, “I pay good money to sit where I sit. That ain’t right. I just can’t sit down the whole game and not say nothing. I’m ADHD. I need the Hawks to tell them I’m good people. I’m not bothering the coaches. I’m motivation.”

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young got wind of Boosie Badazz’s online request. The 2018 Big 12 Freshman Of The Year/two-time NBA All-Star responded to the 40-year-old rhymer’s public appeal on Twitter.

“Nahhh man😂 we not gonna do this to Boosie now. Bro be chillin most games with family.🤔🙄Heard 11x worse things being said to players & coaches [than] how he be talkin. Lol Thanks for the support! @BOOSIEOFFICIAL,” tweeted Young on Monday.

While Boosie Badazz has the backing of the fifth-year professional basketball player, at least one NBA legend is likely not rooting for the outspoken rapper. Three-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade became a target of Boosie after Wade publicly embraced his teenage transgender daughter.

The feud between Boosie Badazz and the Wade family included D-Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, blasting Boosie for his comments about Zaya Wade. Last year, Union stated, “It’s almost like ‘thou doth protest too much Lil Boose’. You got a lot of dick on your mind.” 

Boosie fired back at Gabrielle Union by tweeting, “The whole world know I love women [and] the world know your husband love dick!! I hope [you] don’t think blacks look at yall like a power couple.😀They don’t!!”

Bobby Shmurda Calls Out Rappers For Making “Informant Music”

The topic of “snitching” is once again prevalent in Hip Hop culture at the moment. Formerly incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda weighed in on the topic during a recent Instagram Live session.

Bobby Shmurda’s IG address comes after Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens took a plea deal in an ongoing RICO case in Georgia. Gunna was among two dozen defendants in the case, including fellow YSL representative Yung Thug.

There have been different viewpoints about Gunna’s guilty plea. Some people – like Boosie and 6ix9ine – accused the DS4Ever album creator of betraying Young Thug. Gunna’s lawyer pushed back on that narrative, claiming his client did not snitch to get out of jail.

After Leaving Epic Records, Bobby Shmurda Is No Fan Of The Major Label System

Bobby Shmurda has now provided his own commentary about individuals in Hip Hop allegedly working with authorities. The “Hot N####” rapper extended the informer net much wider than just the Gunna situation.

“These n##### playing dress-up. These people are good kids. I don’t want to hear about no rapper talking no crazy s###,” said Shmurda. He added, “Y’all n##### are rats. You n##### are f###### informants. M############ are informants. Y’all make informant music.”

Bobby Shmurda went on to say 90% of the rappers signed to a major label are “hoes.” The Brooklyn native did sign with Epic Records before taking a plea deal in his own criminal conspiracy case in New York in 2016. He now releases music independently.

Shmurda Embraces Conspiracy Theory About Jay-Z’s Roc Nation

Additionally, Shmurda accused Roc Nation of hiring hackers in order to push a certain agenda. The unproven Roc Nation conspiracy became a major talking point of Tory Lanez supporters. A jury recently convicted Lanez of assaulting Megan Thee Stallion with a firearm.

Lanez’s family members essentially blamed Jay-Z and his Roc Nation management company for supposedly framing the Canadian rapper/singer. Many people online dismissed those vague claims of corruption.

“In 2023, if y’all don’t see me around no rappers, don’t be surprised,” stated Bobby Shmurda. “These n##### are off the chain. These n##### are taking you to jail, they’re reprogramming, they’re getting some more hackers to get on this s### and repost this s###, and make them feel like they’re big.”

Shmurda returned home from prison in February 2021. Since that time, the Bodboy EP landed in August of this year. Before his release, Shmurda teamed with eventual internet troll-turned-federal government witness 6ix9ine for the “Stoopid” single.
